Garner Hotel Phoenix Northwest – Surprise by IHG

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room had the separate living space and king size bedroom. The breakfast was average. The location was minutes away from any and everything you need from restaurants and shopping centers. The only issue we had the first night was very loud guests by the pool until very late at night. I had to call the front desk twice before something was done to stop the noise.

The only thing is that trash cans outside the facility were never emptied during my stay. The swimming pool was refreshing but seemed like it needed some up keep. The pool seemed low on water. The pillows were not really comfortable on the bed. But over all my stay was very good.

I will not be returning to this hotel, and will think twice about using any IHS hotel.

Wonderful place for our Arizona stay! Top of the line for cleanliness, continental breakfast was good, rooms were modern and roomy. Linda and Claudine went above and beyond to make our stay great!!!!

The pool in the heat but the shade was broken and dangerous for customers Fire alarm went off and people had to get out of bed and exit the building. Communication was bad . If it was a real fire would of been dangerous.

The handicap bathrooms had a very low toilet and the only bar was behind the toilet. A higher toilet with a side rail would have been nice. Luckily I brought my own riser seat. Also it's a fridge only...no freezer compartment

The room was nice. The bed wasn't too tall and the mattress was quite comfortable. Staff was friendly especially the girl taking care of the breakfast area. She kept everything clean and stocked. The rooms are fine, no issues here. The breakfast, while a nice add-on, could be a bit better. Of course, I can always eat out. This is twice I have stayed here and will do so again.

Older property but clean!

The staff were incredibly helpful. I had an EV rental vehicle and needed to know where I could charge it. I was informed there was one right across the street. That was a huge relief since it was not only my first visit to the area, it was also my first EV rental car. This eased my mind and allowed me to concentrate on my business trip responsibilities. The hotel was very clean. They offer a basic breakfast buffet that I was not able to take advantage of until the morning I checked out. I enjoyed that too.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming for Spring Training or whatever their reason for visiting Surprise. I'd stay there again! VERY CLEAN, rooms are roomy, convenient to gas station and 4 miles from any restaurant or fast food, grocery store. Plenty of parking. Continental breakfast, coffee machine in mornings, water machine to fill water bottle. Their isn't one bad thing to say about this place.

Too cold to use pool but the breakfasts were great and the 24 hr coffee and tea in the lobby means I didn't have to try to make my own. Nice place with friendly staff.

Was extremely disappointed in the condition of the hotel. Needs a complete update & overhaul. It's also not in the best location for easy access to restaurants or entertainment. Although, the front desk staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating.

I come to the Phoenix area from time to time as a working musician. This hotel and their staff are amazing. I won’t stay anywhere else now.

The room was clean and it was very comfortable and spacious. The only thing I would like would have been to have two bottles of water in the room. There was water in the lobby, but it was a pain to go back-and-forth to get water when we wanted some. I would definitely stay there again when we are in the area and hopefully get to use the pool next time.

The rate was great. Check in staff was friendly. Room was spotless. There were no drinking glasses, ice buckets, or coffee pot. But there was a fridge! No room service unless you hung door hanger out! That was a new adv. Did not have breakfast as it was over by 9:30am. Not sure I would stay there again.

Room was dirty. Sheets stained. NO cups or glasses in the room. Ice machine in hallway but NO ice bucket in room. One small garbage can in the bathroom…none in the room. Leaf-blower from neighboring building at 7a. Breakfast food terrible. I’ll say the coffee is good and that Lynda at the front desk is a positive asset. And other than the leaf blower, the stay was relatively quiet.

The hotel is worn and unmaintained, no coffee in the room, no hot water on my last day. The in room fridge froze all my fruit ruining them. Staff were very odd.

Checked in on Tuesday and checked out early Friday. Never saw anyone from housecleaning. No one cleaned the room. I had secure towels from the front desk on Wednesday & Thursday. Both times I complained and both times & was told the cleaning staff had already gone home for the day, along with the hotel manager. I would not go back.

Unfortunately the coffee makers were both out of service our last morning, and we didn't get the housekeeping service in the middle of our stay as we had requested, but otherwise a great little spot for a reasonable price!

Checked in with Ruben, he was great. The room was clean and well furnished. It was larger than expected, which was nice. The hotel is very nice. The staff was so nice and helpful. I used the guest laundry, the machines worked well, and the space was clean. They provided large pillows, which is so nice. I couldn't figure out how to get the guide on the TV, but the TV worked great. It was in a nice location. They provided a good breakfast. I really enjoyed my short stay. My only complaints are - the shampoo didn't lather, maybe someone put the wrong product in the dispenser. And the noise from someone getting ice at 5:30AM, they got a lot of ice. It was very loud.

Manager did not realize that they accept cats as pets, as stated on their website. Charged $25.00 perrrrr night. Argued with my wife while I was in the hospital with unknown problem.

This is my second stay at this hotel, it's a place they truly make you feel at home, coffee is 24/7 and it's delicious, I believe it's Costa rican. It's not a brand new place, but it's impeccably kept and I mean spotless! The air is clean and fresh, the staff truly makes you feel like you're at home, very considerate and caring. Management was great, I just love this hotel, the energy is amazing.

The hotel is relatively new so everything is clean and in good repair. The rooms are spacious and come with a refrigerator, the shower is large and has good water pressure. There was a computer problem that slowed our check-in, and the TV in our room was not working, but the staff and management did an excellent job and took care of us. We would stay here again.

This was a nice place to stay and Rueban at the front desk was so nice. Our issue was after we got home we realized my husband had left his medical pillow there on the bed, it was white and blended in with all the bedding. We called immediately and were told it wasnt there, which we know it was, so someone obviously stole it. He called them and they didnt see it in the lost and found. I tried calling to speak to the manager and was hung up on twice. So needless to say our opinion was not a good one.

The only minor issue is in the 3 days we were there,breakfast was served later than advertised. Didn't affect us but it did others and complained ,some had somewhere to be or leaving for airport early. Maybe staffing issue at that time,hopefully temporary. Otherwise everything else was great .

Decent hotel, would consider staying again. Clean but bed was super lumpy and sunk in spots. Breakfast was also very limited, only ended up grabbing orange juice but was appreciated. Parking felt pretty safe.

There was no breakfast and no one at the desk to explain. It was weird.

We booked a room through Expedia for three nights. Upon arrival the hotel told us that the cost would be almost 50% more than the booked price. Even when showed our reservation, they refused to honor it and they charged us the higher price. Seems like "bait and switch" to us. We won't stay at this hotel again and we won't use Expedia.

Looked at 3 rooms, all were dirty including intimate hairs in the bathroom. Hallways smelled, carpets were stained.

My short stay was very good for a last minute booking. The room was clean but some of the furnishings were a little tired. Everything DID work which indicates a solud maintenance program. Lobby and common areas were clean and straightened up. Breakfast was good with hot offerings to include scrambled eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal and waffles. Definitely good value for the money.

It was a ok stay, nothing glamorous about the hotel but it did its function: a place to sleep feeling comfortable and safe.

The positives are that the room is clean, the staff is friendly and there's a nightlight in the bathroom. The problems are that there limited refrigerators for the rooms and the tv doesn't work. Those are deal breakers for me. The room is very basic. They don't even have cups in the room for brushing teeth. There's no coffee maker, which I don't use, but others might.

Great place everyone that works there just does there job to the fullest ive been coming here for along time and I wont stop coming here. Thanks again to the Garner employees.
