Great location. Breakfast was great. Room was comfy. I would come again. It was a bit spendy for a single night out of town. Tried looking for discounts but couldn't find anything.

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere it was ridiculous to pay for parking!

You are paying 4 star prices for a 1 star experience. I normally love Holiday Inn Express, but this is my second terrible stay at this hotel. On this trip we got stuck with the ADA room which was terrible and nonfunctional for people without disabilities. We enter this ground floor room had the exterior window unlocked and open to the outside. Shower water pressure frequently goes to zero. The ADA apparatus in this room slams down on you in the shower and basically makes it un-usable to people with legs. In the name of being environmental Holiday Inn has removed not only the coffee maker from the room, but also drinking glasses and the alarm clock! They make every effort to not provide any cleaning or fresh towels even, but they sure put the reminder for you to tip their cleaning staff front and center. About the cleaning staff that they implore you to tip; in the prior stay at this hotel over Christmas 2025 we'd return to find our room smelling of fresh cigarette smoke each day. It smelled terrible and we were suffering from head colds at the time. On our final day on that trip we caught the cleaner trying to enter the room mid afternoon for one of these smoke breaks despite us having the Do Not Disturb/Do not service sign up for the entire stay.

Loved the coffee machine...it grinds your beans fresh! Loved being able to do a load of laundry(they had change for me at the front desk) I also liked not having a clock (the lights always annoy me at night).

The hotel was great. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. Great location off the freeway and next to BigFoot Java and 7Eleven. I would give it 5 stars but there was a constant beeping coming from somewhere in the room near the bed. I didn’t get any sleep; it kept me up all night. The guy at the front desk just said maintenance will check it out. The TV also didn’t work (it turned on but the channel buttons didn’t work).

The day before, I got a local call from the hotel, no voicemail. I redialed the number and was assured by the front desk my reservation was fine. I asked if the pool and hot tub were working and told they were. On the day of, the key didn't work right away, so they reprogrammed the door. Then one the lights didn't work. They gave us a lightbulb to fix it. It worked for a minute then died. We had to be moved to a new room. The hot tub was broken, I had called the day before and was told it was fine. Then the next day the pool said it was closed until evening. I called the office and they told me it didn't open until later, but we've always been told it opened at 9 am (the lady who checked us in said 9 am too). The manager did a poor job of listening to my concerns. She told me Expedia must have called the day before. Why would Expedia know anything about the pool condition? And I pointed out that I was talking to her because I refused the number. I only had the direct line because the front desk had called me (hence our day before call confirming the pool worked). She said the hours of the pool were 10-10 which is not what we had been told. She said the pool hours were posted in the pool room. When it did finally open, I looked at the sign. No hours. None anywhere. She totally lied. No "I am sorry about your experience." Just inferring that I couldn't be telling the truth. Awful.

I had a really nice stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet which made it easy to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful during check-in. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again when visiting the area.

Once inside, the room was wonderful and very clean. We noticed the TV remote was missing, and when we mentioned it, the staff kindly moved us to a second room. Even though we ran into the same lock issue in the new room, the night crew was on top of it and resolved it immediately. A huge shoutout to the night staff for being so amazing and helpful! The only downside was the breakfast. It starts at 6:00 AM and has options, but the quality wasn't quite there. I’d recommend skipping the breakfast and grabbing a bite elsewhere, but the service and cleanliness of the hotel are definitely worth the stay.

We had a great stay in Sumner! We enjoyed the pool—super warm and great hot tub! The breakfast is also very delicious and the pancake machine was a big hit with my nephew!

The bedding and room was uncleaned, when we complained about it and wanted to leave they gave us 10 mins to wake the kids who slept on the floor because the beds were nasty pack and load the car .. so we decided to stay.. the office came knocked once and let them selves in our room yelled for us to come to the front desk and then left the door open all night.

None of the USB outlets worked to plug in charge a phone or anything. Our couch that was off to the bed had some sort of white stains on them and there was a few of them. Shower door & trim are just slightly covered in mold and a lot of buildup of calcium hard water buildup

Clean room, decent beds and great staff

We have been here many times before. We love this place for the breakfast and their convenient pet policies as we always bring our Dog. Unfortunately this is the first time we paid as much as we did and had some security and convienience issues with our room. The locking mechanism on our door was a huge problem. The card key worked fine in every other door (stairwells and pool) but was a huge problem in our room door. When i wasnt able to get back in, in the middle of the night after taking our dog out, there wasnt staff available at the front desk to assist. When i spoke to staff about it in the am i was made aware that they are aware of this problem, this room and obe other has been a problem for a while and they are hoping to get them fixed soon. This isnt an acceptable answer. If you guys know about it, why would you put anyone in there?? Once i made them aware that the privacy screen on the window was also broken and hanging she said they would put the room out of service to fix it. Im disappointed in the lack of proactive behavior to fix some very important security/ privacy features that are a standard in all hotels and being treated like my concerns about them were insignificant. Working in customer service myself, not trying to make it right is disappointing. For this im not sure we would stay here again.

I have stayed at this property many times over the years. The last time was 6 years ago. The hotel has been completely refurbished and looks wonderful So bright and cheerful. Staff was friendly and the breakfast area is so attractive.

Very clean, bright and welcoming hotel. There's also plenty of places to park. There is a convenient store (7/11) in the same parking lot as well as two coffee stands (Starbucks and Big Foot Java). It's really close to The Cannery and I-5. Room had fridge and microwave and the breakfast was amazing! Sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, good coffee....we loved this hotel! We'll be back!

Very good hot breakfast! Freight train came by around midnight and again at 5:50 am blowing it's horn. Not the hotels fault, but I wouldn't pay $225 again for a nosey room.

The room I was given had stains and hair on furniture. It also was next to an electrical room and there was a vent grate that was huge on the wall and let in all the light through it so it was very difficult to fall asleep without complete darkness. The check in was okay, the person checking me in was a little rude.

Continental breakfast was great- but the room was meh/ okay. Bathroom is very small, when you open the door it’s almost touching the toilet lol. Mold in shower + found white hair in our bedding unfortunately. Floors were kind of sticky but overall the stay did its job- just a place to eat and sleep. The rooms were updated, clean and spacious. During the nights, the toilet ran and ran. When I mentioned it to the check-out staff, they were apologetic and offered additional reward points as compensation. The provided breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had this trip.

We were in room 128, adjacent to the kitchen. The first and third night there were people in the kitchen; every morning, the kitchen staff woke me up between 5:30 and 7 AM as there was no sound-proofing. I attempted to change rooms without success. Needless to say, it was not pleasant sleeping.

Beds were fine, breakfast was fine. Room and lobby were clean and room was quieter than expected, given that it’s right next to the highway. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is industrial - nothing to explore and nowhere to eat - but safe.

The hotel is new, I really like the clean aroma, the excellent breakfast, lots of food and drinks, the room very clean and the bathroom also, everything 100%. Thank you Holiday Express once again with you.

Room was comfortable and clean. A/C worked great! Breakfast was pretty standard: bacon, sausage, egg omelettes, etc. Biscuits and gravy were good. Coffee and selection of creamers was great! Dining area was always clean. The TV and internet worked the first two days. However, on day 3 & 4 the TV cable was disrupted and sadly not restored during the remainder of our stay. They were quite busy due to a local car show so the elevator floors were quite dirty and hallway carpet needed a good vacuum. Otherwise, our stay was comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Was going to a concert and the other hotel I booked weeks ago canceled an hour before check in, and I had no where to go. Found this place and they accommodated so nicely! Place was clean and quiet! Highly recommend

It was clean enough and the staff were pleasant. It was also nice to have hot breakfast. We were placed in an ADA room which wasn't requested and was a little confusing. I would have figured a room like that would be reserved for someone who needs it. If it was the only room available, that's understandable but there was no communication round it. Housekeeping also clearly entered the room but didnt make the bed or take out the trash they just replaced the towels which was also strange. Lastly, I noticed a mysterious $50 charge on my card that I now have to dispute.

The room was comfortable and clean. It had all I needed. There's a Starbucks and a 7-11 in the same parking lot (though the prices were slightly cheaper at the shell across the street). I didn't get the chance to try either. The area is safe. I wish it were a little closer to the fairgrounds, but it's doable. Wish the pool had not been closed for maintenance. But seriously, the staff was so nice, even though they were slammed.

Stay was very friendly and helpful. Elevators were down, pool was down for maintenance, and the WiFi was definitely struggling. Seems like they were having a lot issues during our stay. If not for that, our stay would have been perfect.

This is one of my best go to places. Everyone and everything here is great. I was truly impressed with the quality of the place and comfortable beds. Breakfast was great and staff were hands on and very friendly.

The hotel is nice, the breakfast was better than expected and staff was super friendly. Finding a parking spot in the lot even with a parking pass is a different story and the downfall of the experience staying there. Otherwise everything else was great.

It was a great place. The staff were so friendly. The only issues we had was the lamp kept coming off the stand. One of the USB's next to the beds did not work. We ran out of hand soap. I didn't call to let them know so that was my bad.

After a pipe burst in our home we had to finsd a hotel late at night & they made the check in super easy and quick and accommodated everything we needed and made our stay very comfortable! I would definitely stay again

My experience was pleasant until we laid down for bed and a marijuana smell came out of nowhere. I’m mainly upset because I had my 9 month old daughter and when I called the receptionist she made every effort to make it right. The receptionist brought up new keys to a new room and we had to pack up at 11pm with an infant and switch rooms. The new room bathroom was not as clean as the last one and at this point I was just happy the smell was gone.

I can only imagine where they come from! Overall hotel curfew at 10:00pm, and they make you sign a waiver at check in that they can evict you with no notice or warning! My family will NEVER stay at Holiday Inn again. Spend the minimal amount for an upgrade to avoid this low class experience from beginning to end. Holiday Inn should be ashamed!

A lot of noise. The noise isolation is very bad. In the room I stayed in, I could hear the stairwell door slamming very loudly at all times. And also the conversation of other guests passing by in the hallway. The night I was staying there, I woke up startled by someone knocking on the door of the room in front of my room at 2:00 am. The breakfast is very good and the shower is great.

In April 2025, We wanna go to Tacoma downtown and search on Expedia about this location. It shows on the Expedia is about 7 miles difference from this hotel however when we drive on the Google map, it was showing 14 miles. Apparently this location is too far from we wanted to stay and we was misled by Expedia or whatever this address provide us the information. I’m sorry I have to say the hotel condition is good but the location showing from Tacoma downtown to there is wrong.

This was a great location for us, close to mukilshoot Casino and a short drive to the train station. The breakfast was good and the room was quiet, including the A/C!

The only drawback, for me, was the overwhelming scent of the bath products. Other than that, the stay was great, staff super nice, breakfast pretty tasty. Would definitely stay again.

I am having a great experience. Check in staff was pleasant. The only thing was that I was struggling to get my luggage onto the rolling baggage rack and no one came to assist. Other than that, a pleasant check in experience. 🙂

Great hotel, very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast was good! The only downside, which is not really in the control of the hotel, was the nearby railroad was loud at night with trains coming and going using their train horns.

We enjoyed everything about our stay except the mattresses. Ours were too firm and we did not get the best sleep as a result. Everything else was great. Things were quiet except trains going through, but we are used to those noises because of where we live. Breakfast was awesome, shower was hot and good pressure, and plenty of outlets for charging phones as well as using my Cpap.

I ordered a king bed and a pullout sofa. We arrived later in the evening and when we got to the room, there were no linens or blankets for the pullout. My child just slept with me in the bed instead, but you’d think that the linens for the pullout would already be in the room.
