Beautiful Hotel, with a beautiful setting! After a long day of travel and busy highways, it was such a sweet sight! Everything was great. We ate dinner at the restaurant, very good! Morning coffee was great too.

Overall the stay was excellent. Staff was helpful. A true standout was our waitress Brooke in the restaurant, Crust and Cork. She was very friendly and suggestions were top notch. A+ service Free wifi would have been nice

Love this property. The staff was very kind and helpful. I had an event to attend and needed a early check in. While there wasn"t any available rooms for me she was kind enough to assign me a room so the chexk-in process was easy when I returned. That"s why its always Hilton for the stay!

I had pass thru Virginia one night visiting family from Hawaii. I stayed here both times. Nice being on the River. Gym, restaurant and staff good. Windows dont crack open a tiny bit for air but I guess that’s standard here.

Recently stayed the weekend and it was very pleasant stay. The room and property were clean, staff was amazing and breakfast was a good selection. The pool was my grandson’s favorite. Will definitely book again and recommend.

The property is that plantation vibe while it’s very clean and nice I’m from the north and I was underwhelmed by that . But inside was very nice. We got a riverside view that was a bit underwhelming because there’s not a lot happening on or around the river but still the properties connection leading to the river is nice. The room was adequate for three people nothing weird in the bathroom life hair or paint chipped. I always check thoroughly for bed bugs “been down that road” . No bugs but I would say that can change within a day so check multiple reviews. The breakfast was incredible and included the staff was friendly and the food was great. Sausage gravy n biscuits, bacon , sausages, grits,a real fruit bar , waffle station , bagels and juices etc

We absolutely loved the breakfast, even though the hotel is in Suffolk. We plan to visit visit again all the way from Washington DC.

The restaurant staff was exceptional. The biggest drawback for us was that the elevators and hallways reeked of marijuana.

The fact we paid for a king roon and got bumped to a double queeen because the system oversold the king rooms by 17 units. Made to wait 30 minutes to check in after we were told our room was oversold. No manager ever came out to offer an apology

Staff was excellent. Room was clean but there was a leak in the bathroom that I had to sap up with towels. Wasn’t happy about that at all.

The swimming pool was out of order when we went outside of this I was not interested in doing anything but relaxing and get away. It was a short ride from my home which is about an hour away and we shop local in eight out in Chesapeake and came right back. It was very peaceful. The swimming pool could have been operational.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and nice that you could order other items our server was wonderful each time we ate in the restaurant the cooks were also very nice! It was difficult to park in the evening when we would come back. We had to park in the smaller lot.

I wish that event parking vs hotel guest parking was clearly marked. There is ample parking, but sometimes the hotel side fills and the parking on the far side of the ballrooms is wide open.

The Hilton Garden Inn is an older, grand facility with lots of charm, a great location, a nice restaurant with a tasty menu and very competitive room rates. The handicap parking is wheelchair accessible, but still involves a bit of distance. Door drop-off for the differently abled is another option. Handicap rooms are appointed with bathroom grab bars, low entry tub/shower, chair height toilet and wheelchair accessible desk and bed heights. Extra pillows are available upon request to model a sleep position of the adjustable bed we have at home for medical reasons. We only wish that the handicap rooms were not so far from the elevators and entryways, but this does spare one of the otherwise ongoing foot traffic and chatter of common egress points. The hotel was relatively quiet and is close to our destination visit. We will gladly return. The electric curtain control had erratic operation issues and the wall mounted conditioner bottle was coming loose from the shower wall. This was not a show stopper and was reported to management upon check out for their attention.

Had an unexpected late check-in and the front desk rep was so kind and quickly checked us in because we were so tired. He even gave us local food options with late-night delivery since the restaurant was closed. I had difficulty using the Hilton app to reset my password to complete the mobile checkin. I tried resetting the password for two days with no success. If this option was working correctly, I wouldn't have to have worried about calling the hotel to advise on my late arrival and worry about missing my reservation. I also reserved a King bed but received two queen beds. I hate not receiving what I paid for but it was too late in the evening to request a room change.

Nice staff, all was clean but carpets and such getting a little worn. WiFi was not great which was frustrating. Also, there is a good restaurant and bar in the hotel BUT if you stay over the patio areas there will be late night noise/people talking/laughing until 1-2am. I was working nights so not a problem but if you are not, stay towards the front or sides of the hotel, not near the porch facing the water.

The place is well located. Room was comfortable but bathroom is outdated. Hotel was washer and dryer but soap is not available. Restaurant options is limited. Overall personel is very kind and gentle. We loved the nice smell of the hall in 5th floor.

Everything is clean and orderly. Everyone is delightful. I didn't catch that breakfast wasn't included, so it was a bit of a surprise when I got a bill. It was good, take advantage of the omelette bar if you get it, but $15 is still a bit expensive when there are cheaper options

Riverfront was nice. Lobby area with view nice. CARPET IN OUR ROOM HAD 16 DIFFERENT STAINS! Carpet needs replacing or switching out to non carpet flooring.

Our room was situated over the entrance so we heard music 24-7 (it took us awhile to figure out it was from the entrance not the person below us). You had to turn on the A/C to keep the room at a comfortable temperature, otherwise, it was 80 degrees in the room. (bonus, it drowned out the music). The side door security entrance wasn't locked so anyone could enter the premises. We've been going for 5 years. It keeps going down.

The AC doesn’t have a constant fan setting which makes for an extremely loud stay. Our room was close to the elevator so every time the elevator moves you can hear it very clearly. In addition, you can hear all of the echoes from the lobby. Overall comfortable but definitely bring your earplugs.

My stay was great until my sleep was interrupted around 4:30am by the sound of the fire alarm. We were up and outside because there was a fire on one of the front porches. After the all clear the fire alarm went off at least two more times. Other than that my stay was good

Parking was ok but company trucks park across the spaces so about 14 spaces were not able to be used. I had to park on the other side of the hotel and walk around to the front late at night by myself, felt very unsafe. These trucks should be parked on the other side of hotel. It’s very unfair

We have stayed here 3 years in a row now. Very nice location, staff is very friendly and helpful, pet friendly and the veranda is beautiful and so relaxing after a day of traveling. It’s so great that the restaurant will serve our meals on the veranda so that our pets can be with us and the food was wonderful. Only downfall this year was a fire alarm at 6 am. But we did meet a lot of friendly guests because of it. All of us in our PJs.

Great property but this location has two dead mummies outside of their bathrooms on the first floor. They are statues hanging on the wall. I felt so uncomfortable walking in to use the bathroom. The statues look demonic and not appropriate for this hotel. I would never visit again if they don’t remove those things. It’s interesting what some would consider art. I spoke to the workers who agreed the statues are not appropriate and other people have complained. Yet they’re still on the walls so I assume this will go no where. Which is fine. I just wouldn’t come back.

The restaurant onsite had great food all three meals . The wait staff was excellent . Very attentive including the bar staff . Check in and out was smooth. It is an older hotel but kept up well and everything was very clean . The view from the porch out to the river is beautiful and relaxing .

This is a wonderful property. From the minute I walked in the door to check in to the time we left the property, I felt welcome and at home. The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. The check in process was a breeze. The rooms are large and comfortable. I was traveling with my daughter and I felt the hotel was very family friendly. The location is picturesque. The restaurant “Crust and Cork” in this hotel is fabulous. We had a wildly good time just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere and the beautiful view. They make a fantastic lemonade cocktail called the “Crust and Cork” that is out of this world. Their food is fantastic. Especially their Cacio e Pepe, pizza and wings! Their Mango sorbet is delicious too. If you are passing through and need a place to rest and relax. This is the one. We will return on our next trip to the area. It was a wonderful experience!

This is a wonderful property. From the minute I walked in the door to check in to the time we left the property, I felt welcome and at home. The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. The check in process was a breeze. The rooms are large and comfortable. I was traveling with my daughter and I felt the hotel was very family friendly. The location is picturesque. The restaurant “Crust and Cork” in this hotel is fabulous. We had a wildly good time just chatting and enjoying the atmosphere and the beautiful view. We requested to checkin at 4pm and when we got there we were told the room was cleaned but not “inspected.” We did not get in the room until after 7pm. The phone in the room did not work and had absolutely not control of AC. We slept in sweatshirts it was so cold. I also suggest there be a sign in the room informing customers the room is only cleaned every other day! Is that a thing now? Shame on Hilton for that. Also, unless you survive on fast food, there is nowhere to eat!

Pretty hotel beautiful grounds. The beds to to low to the floor. Floor level shower on second floor led to easy flooding in the bathroom. Some rooms look like they need some uodating.

We selected this based on a wedding. No A/C in hallways on the floor we were on. Loud fans were used. Once they were turned off, musty smell returned. We had several rooms. Each had its own issues. The wedding venue and food were wonderful. The accommodation infrastructure needs attention.

I did not like the fact that the power in my room went out they offered me a king size room with my whole family. There’s four of us. They said they had a rollaway bed, but then realized they didn’t have it and then they gave me extra blankets and pillows to sleep on the floor Until my room would be ready the next day

The overall property is beautiful and the restaurant is a wonderful addition. There were red stains in the carpet of my room and the pillows were filthy and flimsy. With some updates to the rooms this hotel would definitely get 5 stars!

This property is located in a very convenient place for our purposes. The first floor restaurant is very good, particularly the evening options. Restaurant staff is also excellent, friendly and professional. Service to the room was somewhat disappointing. We stayed for four days and after the second day, expected to receive clean towels and replenished amenities, neither of which was provided. Otherwise, a very good stay.

I placed my mother there for an event and she loved every bit of it. She was overjoyed about how clean the rooms were and how nice the staff was overall.

The property was well kept. The beds were absolutely terrible. My husband and I had to end up getting massages on the second day, due to how uncomfortable the beds were. Our price in which we paid for “included breakfast.” Although, when we went to get breakfast at what looked like a normal continental breakfast we were asked for “a ticket voucher.” You would think they would inform you of this at check in and give you them, but my husband and I did not want to stand and wait at the hotel desk for someone to attended to us (not always was someone there). We called one morning to get more towels and toilet paper, it never came so we reused our towels and thank goodness we brought wet wipes. We left for the day and came back, still no extra towels or TP, we were gone for 8 hours and had to call again when we got back and our extras finally came. So I’d say the only 2 good things were the grounds were well kept and we were able to have an early check in.

Parking was bad; staff was not friendly; they turned the water off one day; noisy neighbors; rooms are outdated.

While the hotel is nice enough, it is overpriced for the area. The platform bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast Buffett FOOD was good, but unfortunately the hostess there was very poor in customer care skills. She grilled me to see if I had paid the $10 breakfast charge, and when I came back down for a glass of OJ and a little bit more bacon, she threatened to charge me AGAIN. I am very unhappy with this woman's treatment of me. Hilton needs to do better.

The pillows were awful….they were basically flat..you received 4 and they had no substance to them. The bed was lumpy…not at all comfortable…I tossed and turned and ended up sleeping at the foot of the bed…was not a comfortable 2 night stay…loved the room, would stay again but would bring my own pillows…

This is an exceptionally run facility-full of surprises as expectations exceeded on all fronts including staffing levels and knowledge.

The staff were very friendly. Bar/dining was great. Would definitely stay again.

The staff are always very nice (our 5th stay). The property needs some work. Our room started with almost no water flow and for some reason the 2nd floor is always like a sauna. Luckily maintenance jumped right on it.

Staff outstanding and eager to help. Restaurant inside Riverfront, was outstanding in service and pricing. My only concern was parking; limited in site parking. Otherwise phenomenal facility!

It was amazing front desk staff were very accommodating. The lights were off in my room, maintenance came to fix it but it seemed to be more than just changing a light bulb. My room was changed immediately! My stay was from 10/18-10/21 wish I could remember the young man’s name that helped me. But I had a great stay!

We had a dog in the room for the first 2 nights and put out the don’t clean the room tag but afterwards we let the cleaning staff know it wa ok to clean the room again but it was never cleaned, we had to ask for clean towels and coffee several times

The location was excellent and the room was nice. The bed was too low and a little too firm but overall the stay was good. Staff were professional and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

We have now stayed at this property 3 times - will use it whenever we are in the area. The staff is excellent, especially the bar tenders who make you feel like they are glad you are there.

I could have had better service for seating and ordering our breakfast. Seemed to be a mix up with seating and or ordering our food.

The wifi was down so they had to check in manually. The keys could be be setup so they had to walk to the room to let us in. They did not let us know our room 239 was over the laundry room. The room shook and the loud noise all night. The plumbing was bad and the toilet leaked badly from the bottom. The hotel was booked so no room change.

The Italian restaurant was very good !

The staff are very pleasant, professional but friendly. The grounds, public spaces and rooms are all clean and in good condition. Our only complaint is that our room wasn’t serviced after the second night. Trash was emptied but the towels weren’t changed, and the beds were not made. Nothing terrible, but a bit disappointing.

Very nice stay! We stay here often in our travels and it’s always enjoyable and the staff is super friendly. Comfy rooms and beds with great amenities and places to walk your dogs. I will definitely be back!

Quick & easy to come in & get settled. The room is big, clean & lots of places to charge phones.

The shower curtain was dirty and torn, the TP holder was falling off the wall, the bathroom lacked cleanliness in general. The price was ok, I guess that’s what to expect.

Awesome hotel

Stayed here for a night as I was passing through town and as I entered the lobby I noticed the trash was overflowing and there was trash on the floor and on a table behind it. I figured staff would be cleaning it any moment so I didn’t say anything about it, I checked in and headed to my room once in my room I began wiping down everything as I entered the bathroom I noticed roaches crawling on around in the bathroom. So I immediately grabbed my belongings and went back down stairs. We were given a new room immediately at this point it was well after midnight we were tired so I wiped things down quickly and went noticed the toilet was running I asked about it and was told it was fine they do that sometimes so we took a shower and got in bed while the next morning water came pouring out of the bathroom flooding the room I called for help immediately and ended up having to gather my items quickly before have to leave well before I planned to it was a terrible experience. However the manager on duty that morning was very helpful and caring and did her best to make things right
