Convenient for travel. Price was right. Breakfast buffet was OK. Parking was safe and easy.

We had five groups staying over the weekend. All five rooms the air conditioning was barely working. It was set at 62 and was running in the 70's. The compressors would not stay on. I had to sleep right up next to the unit in order to stay cool enough to sleep. I only slept for 4-5 hours and then had to get up. The filters were really dirty, and the stairwells were not clean. This was not my best experience at a Microtel. Terrible time of the year not to have the air conditioning units working.

It can use some updating. There was some mold in areas. The elevator jumps and sometimes goes to the wrong floor. The room was so hot when we first got there it finally cooled down by that night.

I’m not sure how this hotel has comments about its cleanliness because it’s easily the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed at in recent years. Besides being dirty, it’s in disrepair and the floors have soft spots where it feels like you are going to fall through. We will not be back.

Rented 3 rooms, all 3 were dirty! Bathrooms had holes in the walls and hair everywhere. Soap bottles were empty in 2 of the showers. Hallways freaked with pot smoke. Waste of time and money!!

Clean convenient excellent breakfast and great price

Very close to interstate 77 yet relatively quiet. We checked in at 6pm for a quick overnight stop but the inefficient A/C didn’t cool the room until 2:30 am. There was no one at the front desk at check out to update about the problem with the A/C and breakfast mediocre at best.

It was very convenient being right off the highway. The housekeeping staff needs to pay attention to detail and take the extra step to make sure everything is wiped down. Noise from the highway was a bit annoying at times.

The hotel needs some TLC. The paint was peeling off the wall in the shower. Needs to be cleaned better. It was only over night stay.

Convenient to downtown Statesville and lots of dining options within a five minute drive (without having to get back on the Interstate). This was my second stay and I plan to stay here when I’m in the area, which is several times per year.

We reserved 3 rooms for a simple stop on the way to a funeral. The first room the paint was peeling, the wall was falling apart from a broken bathroom that the water would not shut off. It was running before we even arrived. The other room had the batteries removed from the fire alarm. The rooms were barely clean. The bathrooms had dingy towels and no soap in the shower dispenser. The ceiling tiles were stained with water stains. It truly should not be offered on this site. We were extremely disappointed. We will never stay at this place ever again. It was a very stressful night.

Our rooms were clean, only issue was tub dripped. My nephew had to wash clothes & staff were very helpful with giving him change for coins. We do need a sign of some sort to remind people not to just leave their clothes for long periods of time. We had to wait over 2 hrs because no one came back to take out their laundry. It's a very quite & pleasant area. Good Mexican restaurant & a friendly convenient store next door. This is always our preferred hotel to stay when in this area.

There were light fixtures that did not work in the room, the bathroom light fixture was full of bugs.

Nice exterior, dumpy interior. Ice machine on 3rd and 2nd floor did not work. Room is small with no counter space anywhere. They do not give enough towels and washcloths and had an issue when I asked for more. Breakfast was horrible. At the end of the day, it was budget friendly so you get what you pay for I guess. Would not stay again.

Reasonable stay for the money

Rooms were not clean, and they smelled musty. Asked for another room and was told there were none. Trash was in the room from previous occupants, stepped on something sticky on the carpets. Neighborhood was questionable. Ended up leaving; deposit was returned but room not reimbursed by owner. The first several reviews I had read made it sound great, and one of them had mentioned that it had been remodeled; after seeing the room and asking staff, there had been no remodeling. Take the time to scroll further. I would never stay at this hotel and would never refer anyone to it. The outside appearance and the lobby looked fine, but it all changed once we got in our rooms.

The carpet was very sticky on both sides of the bed. The bathroom door was broken. There were no towel racks or grab bars in the bathroom. The holes in the wall were stuffed with toilet paper. The biscuits were hard.

First room smelled like smoke and we requested to be moved. The ice machine on the floor we were on did not work so we had to do to another floor. The smoked detector was removed and not replaced. The carpets in the hallway and our room were dirty. It was not a great stay.

All was good. The only thing i noticed at hotels we stayed at in the USA at this price level was the welcoming staff were not very friendly and they dressed very unprofessional.

The hotel was old and run down. The bedding was old and worn. The pillows smelt. The towels were also old and worn with stains. Overall room was discussing. Will never stay there again.

The room was filthy, there was bbq sauce all over the carpet by the couch, the bathroom was not cleaned at all there was still white powder all over the floor and “hair” on the toilet. Everything felt grimy and sticky. Worst of all there was what I believe to be throw up covering the inside of the front door. The staff was beyond rude, I don’t think a single one of them working front desk could define the word hospitality. They seemed to not want to get up and off of their cell phone, both the lady working night shift and the young man working days and would not even switch my room. I didn’t eat the breakfast because the state of room. There were people in the parking lot drinking and being loud until late into the night. I would highly recommend just spending a little more money and booking a different hotel.

Nothing! This hotel is trying to scam us out of money when I did not stay here. I checked in, saw the condition of the room and turned right back around to stay at a different hotel. There was bugs, blood stained sheets, bed unchanged, Bodily white fluids everywhere, broken dripping bathtub, No drain, The room that connects to your room lock was broken, curtains torn, so bad the front desk worker even said these workers aren’t cleaning anything and she wants to quit. This hotel was a literal nightmare! The ratings are 100% fake, this hotel would be a -0 if I could rate that low.

Entrance light swich didnt work, guessing light was burned out. Toilet paper was hard to reach for a small person once seated on toilet. There is usually a meat provided with breakfast to accompany eggs but there was only sausage gravy to go on biscuits. I tried the gravy and it tasted like it was going bad. When I checked out, I was handed a receipt saying the room was paid for with $0 balance and that I was charged $75 but what was actually charged to our card was $99.

The hot tub in my room was not working, staff on duty was very nonchalant about it. Offered a discount, but looks like I was charged full price for the room i frequent this hotel often and never had a problem. I genuinely book a room here solely for the hot tub and unfortunately this trip. I was unable to utilize it, but was charged full price for it. I would really like to see them have that fixed and to make it right with a regular traveler to this establishment.

The phone in my room was unplugged and i had to search for the cord the next day after trying to use the phone to call the front desk after i was woken up at 5 in the morning by someone banging on my door. I had to use my cellular to call the number on goggle which wasn't even the hotel i was staying at. The women who answered had to give me the number to the front desk of the hotel i was staying at. The women who answered the front desk's phone laughed and said oh it was just a woman who thought your room was hers. The person banged on my door for almost fifteen minutes without speaking, stopped for a few minutes then started banging again. I did not feel safe staying there.

Was pleased with the room I was given. I had stayed at this hotel once before and I like it for its convenience off the interstate. My only complaint would be that I could hear guests in the next room. It was late and I was eager to get a good nights sleep however once I turned on my noise machine, all was better. Microwave was making an annoying clicking sound. Not sure what the deal was but I unplugged it and all was quiet. Room was clean and cozy and I really enjoyed the bathtub, something you don’t find in many hotels anymore. I will stay here again.

Bare Electric wires sticking out of the wall unscrewed chair seat falling off chair soiled bench cushion paint flaking off wall in bathroom first room they gave us 52 degrees and heating out of service issues other issues were from 2nd room and the front desk said it was a good room like one of there best??? Also pictures missing from wall with screws sticking out. We have been to several microtel hotels in past always good but this is a disaster. Also front desk unprofessional they claimed i hadn’t paid through you made me pay again in The morning i got that changed with morning attendant. But they were poorly dressed unprofessional actually the girl had a pull over sweat shirt that you could smell BO😕 I am so surprised hotels. Com had a good rating for them. I did not voice my issues with the hotel because they were not professional and i knew it was hopeless. It comes down to a very poorly managed who cares attitude at this location. David

Also, we were on the first floor, and I think a family of horses must have been in the room above us stomping around all night. Around midnight, they used their jacuzzi, which was very noisy. It was so bad that we had to request another room. The desk clerk (sorry I did not get her name) was very kind and moved us to another room. I will be willing to stay again if we come back through.

Room was clean and comfortable. Requested a handicapped accessible room and got a handicapped accessible room, which is not something that every hotel delivers on. Most put a handicapped handrail on a wall in the bathroom and call it handicapped accessible when in reality, they are death traps for aomeone with ambulatory challenges. Thank you for the extra handicapped features. It certainly made our stay very pleasant. Great breakfast also. Fast & friendly staff

Breakfast started @ 630 am eggs and gravy are cold had to take to room and microwave. If waited untill 730 or 800 it would be warm by then. Cold air blowed in room thru windows not sealing tight and around the ac/heating unit.

The shower leaked really bad the whole time we were there. It was decent clean but not real clean. Staff were nice. Doors to the outside were not secured well. When people went out, they didn’t close on their own so most of the time they stayed open. First night our room was cleaned, they just took the towels and didn’t replace, and beds were poorly made. Staff took a plate at breakfast someone left out, dusted it off and put it back on the clean pile. If they do that in front of people, I’m a little worried about what happens behind the scenes.

The room was fairly priced, clean and adequate. Although other patron were not good about how they closed their doors, letting them slam regularly. The food was ok. The sausage gravy was cold and the waffle maker seemed to heat unevenly.

We checked in, after 15 hours of driving. The host at the desk was friendly. We went to our room and it was disgusting. The floors were dirty - not vacuumed and clearly not washed (black dirt) and the tub was also dirty. The bed had a large urine stain on it and the window seat cushion had white stains on it. I went to the front desk to ask for a different room. He offered a different room. Upon entering, I immediately saw blood on the pillow! That was it - we left. Such a dirty, gross place.

The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The staff was friendly. We did book the room to have two queen beds, unfortunately, we got two full-size beds.

We came down to see the Statesville Balloon Fest, and this hotel offered a convenient place to stay while we enjoyed the festival.

I was charged twice for the room. I am still awaiting my refund. And I am still waiting for my $100 deposit to be refunded, over 12 hours later.

We stopped overnight while traveling. Clean, no issues, would stay again.

No meat on breakfast bar, only eggs as a low carb option. Room was not clean, hairs in shower, dirt on bathroom floor, dust on all vents, broken desk chair with clear tape, curtains did not properly close. Carpets in halls have bright stains. Truly disappointed in the condition of the property.

When we entered the hotel, it smelled, and our room was even worse. I think we were on the second floor. We do not remember the room number. We went to another hotel that night. We would like a refund, if possible.

We liked the stay except for the fact that it sits on a hill and the big trucks insist on using their exhaust brakes which are very loud. You should get the neighbors affected by this noise to petition the authority to prohibit their use in the area we observed many homes there

Bed sheets & blankets need to be replaced. Some were stained and had holes in them. A couple of things didn’t work in our room like the microwave, hairdryer and the phone.

Staff completely rude and unhelpful. This hotel did not honor the Expedia reservation and kicked my father in law off the property because he was trying to get a little rest IN THE CAR after the hotel said he didn’t have a room. When my father in law tried to ask for another room they said they were full. However when I called the hotel and spoke with Aaron, he said that they did in fact have vacancies last night. This is terrible, and there is no excuse for this.

The only car in their lot when I pulled in was over in the corner and has only three wheels. Outside of the building was filthy. It looked like shady crap went down inside. Cannot confirm that but it didn’t feel remotely safe.

Breakfast was AMAZING!

Now the things that could use improvement. The elevator button in the lobby was broken. It was apparent that they had done some not so great repairs in our bathroom. Everything worked as it should but the paint was off and the parts didn’t fit like they should. Also housekeeping could do a better job cleaning the tub and floors.

It was just an overnight stay. Everything was comfortable and the hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits, waffles) was unexpected for a Microtel. Would stay here again!

Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was decent. The price is good. It is a little worn down though. Some wallpaper had been painted but it was falling off behind the shower head. At least they had painted it so it wasn't moldy. But I think they need to do some upgrading as the carpeting down the hall was highly stained. There was a hole in my towel, and some worn areas on the sheet. But I would stay here again as two other hotels I've stayed in had bugs and at least this one has not had that!

Dirty, smelly, GROSS! SO we go in the place is filthy!!! Lobby smells, curtains filthy!!! We are like oh boy. One night, so go get luggage, carts are gross, hallways carpet nasty, nasty, Go to elevator horrible odors, Go check room out, cute , Sheets appear to maybe be laundered. Thank God I brought my own pillow Go to bathroom to wash face, washcloths appear to have make up on them!!! Go to bed, loud partiers, group whatever blasting motorcycle motors 11'30 at night! Cannot wait to get a shower and out of here!!! Feels crudy, like a smoked up Motel 6!!

Would not recommend. Especially if you are a solo traveler. Not a safe environment.

The only problem was when i got there they wanted my credit card to hold 50 so if something was wrong it was cover. Problem.was they said it could be 3 to 5 days before they would refund would be refunded your moneyreduit.

We have stayed here before but only on the first floor. This time was the second floor and we noticed how filthy the carpets were even in the room. Place definitely needs a revamp. Especially the vanity in the bathroom is so close to toilet you can’t even wipe yourself toilets are way too low .

Check in was easy & quick. Room was clean. Good continental breakfast. Thank you!

The ceiling was in total disrepair in the shower. The toilet leaked with each flush. The freezer in the refrigerator needed defrosting. The rug was very dirty. Bed sagged in the middle. On the positive side,it was very quiet.

Highly recommend.The price was very good through Expedia. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. I knocked it down to 4 stars because the toilet paper was horrible, like super thin Braille paper, so bring your own. I liked the bed. It was plush enough that I liked it and low enough so I could get on it (vertically challenged). The bathroom sink did not have a stopper or anything to prevent things from going straight down the drain. Hot water came in quickly. The room was very quiet, and the air conditioner was good. I appreciated that there was a cold mini-fridge and a microwave. The breakfast was okay (waffles were good), but not much selection (where's the bacon?) I am elderly, use a rollator, got the accessible room and it worked good for me, I would definitely stay there again and recommend it. I don't think you could find anything better for the price.

Unfortunately the rooms were not clean or maintained. Elevator buttons were broken, duct tape over things. Air conditioner worked but only ran for seconds at a time. The staff was friendly though.

Arrived late had to wait about five minutes for someone to come check us in. Elevator was a little screwed up with going up a floor to come down not sure why. Room was ok. Next morning where they served the free breakfast was extremely hot and unpleasant just left and found somewhere else to grab something to eat. Overall if it was me I wouldn’t write a review but I had my daughter and my parents with me and it was not comfortable for them

It was pretty evident that things were not kept up to standard. As far as maintenance repairs go. Breakfast was very good. Place was clean.. The desk clerk who was on the evening we checked in was very nice and accommodating.

Didn’t like arriving at 1am and being put next to the hallway with machine. We were woken up at 445 with guests filling coolers with ice.

Arrived and noone at desk to check us in. Waited about 10 minutes for anyone to help us. When they did show up we realized it was one of the same 2 ladies we saw outside smoking as we came in. Once she was there she was very helpful, and then the room key card did not work, so i had to go back and have her reprogram it and then it worked

I enjoyed my stay. The room was lovely. I do wish there was more clarification on the security deposit and when it will reverse as I am still waiting and its been 3 days.

We did stay at a Microtel in Beckley WV that was lovely with clean rooms, charming staff and a decent breakfast.

Not a new property, for sure, but friendly staff and comfortable room. Cleanliness wise, stains in the hallway carpets were the worst of it. The room was fine. The separate sitting are was a nice touch. Convenient to everyplace I needed to go. I would definitely stay here again.

First room we checked into-no hair dryer-TV didn’t work- and there was dried food in the carpet. Requested move to another room. So far so good on 2nd room. Will most likely not stay at Microtel again, with stick with Marriott hotels.

Calm and quiet

This hotel is a decent place to stay. The accommodations were adequate for me and the family. The room was clean but the carpet did have some stains. Breakfast was good but needed extra staff as the front desk clerk tried to do both jobs.

Found the hotel to be a mix of good and bad. Mattress was comfortable but paint was peeling. Elevator didn’t stop at second floor so we had to go to the third and go down the stairs. The check out text that arrived at 8am was a tad early.

Best feature was hotel located next door to full service gas station and to excellent Mexican restaurant.

The wall around the shower was falling apart & it felt like the shower floor was going to give out when I was standing on it. I’m not a large person. Also, the toilet was loose on the floor. Breakfast was less than desirable.

We have stayed there before but we found it a little dirty in the hallways and the carpets needed cleaning. The attendant in the morning was more interested on being on his cell phone than attending to customers. When asked if there was hot water for tea he said no. Would not hire him.

The man at the desk was not talkative. Juice machine broken. Asked for water and didn't get any. Slow getting breakfast out.

They charge the $50 deposit that they don't refund until they inspect the room up to seven to nine business days no forewarning of the charge cobwebs in the corner of the room the smoke detector had the ceiling falling off around it a 3/4 inch Gap in the door between the door and the jam the toilet was not bolted to the floor the air conditioner filters or not properly installed into the air conditioner heater there was cracks in the wall in the bathroom between the tub and the toilet

Easy check in. Property is close to the hwy yet far enough away that it was a quiet area. Very decent breakfast! Bed was very comfortable as well.
