Room was good. Food was very good at onsite restaurants (Lindsay's served breakfast and the pub and grill served lunch and dinner). One elevator was out of service and could have come in handy since the place was crowded.

This hotel is dated. Stained carpeting, dinged up doors, dirty shower curtains. Our vehicle wouldn’t fit in the parking garage. One positive, the breakfast buffet was pretty good!

The staff were friendly and mostly helpful, and the room was clean. The lobby area was very nice. The hotel itself had some areas, such as the pool and locker rooms, that had some significant issues. The pool was damaged, water was very cloudy, there were no towels, the locker rooms were clean-ish but had significant water damage to the ceilings and walls. The hallways in the hotel were damaged - wallpaper torn off, etc. overall the staff we encountered were very friendly but the hotel is not very well maintained.

I had to pay for 2 breakfast.. for the price of the room it should have came with it.. location was perfect.. not happy about parking.. i had to pay to park at the hotel.. not a happy customer

Parking was something like $3 for 1 day which isn5' bad but is not free. Breakfast was very good but also not included w/o extra charge. Otherwise things were good, pool was a good temperature (no working hot tub) and the tv and beds were nice. Staff was friendly. Decent area but no fast food nearby and nearby Italian restaurant was pricey and just okay.

The room and facility was as advertised, clean and convenient to the venue we were attending. The staff was good though ill prepared for a large event next door and seemed to be overwhelmed. Seems someone dropped the ball having enough staff scheduled to service a busy night. We were unable to use the amenities of the facilities due to poor management planning.

The hotel is conveniently located. It is very clean and the staff is friendly. The shower has very weak pressure and I believe Abraham Lincoln may have actually slept on that mattress. It seemed that old and lumpy. Also ate at both sub par restaurants ? pretty disappointing for a supposed 5 star hotel

Food was not great. Options at Globe were not ideal. Breakfast was way too spicy.

The hotel is old and multiple places had damaged/ unkept stuff (I.e. elevator hand rails, carpet, bathtubs, trim throughout, etc). The hotel is priced kind of high for what you get, I believe this is due to it being next to the event center. Also, the parking for the event center is the same as the hotels and there was almost no parking left for the hotel guest when we checked in. The bed was not very comfortable and very firm. The hotel and room looked clean throughout. I would not recommend to stay at this this hotel as there are several others in Springfield that are nicer for the same price or cheaper.

My charge at the hotel does not match my quoted booking.com price. Still awaiting response from hotel why they charged more than Bookings price

Parking The room noticeably has not been taken care of. It needed updating badly. Dirty carpet, worn dated furniture, Bathtub had large chips missing with old tile, dirty grout.Just a very dreary room. Uncomfortable bed.

Parking check in and out could have been easier. Machine was not working. Park on street if you can. They charge for parking I guess Hilton doesn’t make enough money.

Coffee in the lobby was some of the best I've had and Sherry in the breakfast room was great!

Room was freezing when I got there. Warmed up after about 30 min. Good location for access to the Capital. Bed was comfy (had to pay extra $10 for a king bed, but was worth it). Great pillows.

Everything was fine but there was absolutely no water pressure. The scrambled eggs in the buffet were slimy/runny.

$24 to add a breakfast option is ridiculous, when many hotels offer free breakfast for their guests. The abandoned Wyndham Hotel directly across the street was a horrible eyesore. One would also think that the hotel would offer to validate your parking, but I was told they could not, because the parking garage was "owned by the city."

Buffet breakfast was delicious but I thought it was included with the room charge. Waiter charged our room. I would like a refund. The mattress in 919 was horrible. There was a lump for every body point that met the mattress. Could not sleep well.

The staff was amazing except a blond lady at the front desk of the morning we were departing. She was snippy to my wife but not rude and it was settled quickly by another employee at the desk. The room size was good but was definitely not spotless (I took pictures). I feel for a hotel of this stature that it should have in room microwaves but that is just my opinion. My family had to use the stairs multiple times due to the elevators not working properly and we were on the 11th floor. The heater did not function properly until around 3A.M. All in all I feel that we paid for the location convenience of the hotel more than we did for the stay. I will return in the future, but hopeful that facility updates will have been made by then.

Room was clean, lobby very nice. Amenities were fine. We had trouble with the sink and tub draining and someone was sent to fix it. Also, the corner-room heater was very loud and that was apparently worked on when we were gone one afternoon.

Relaxing atmosphere and great staff. And it’s close to a lot of historical places to see. Hotel is beautiful with great amenities. Oh and you get a warm cookie when checking in—including a gluten free cookie.

I thought the bathroom needed a tile upgrade and the most upsetting thing was no refrigerator in the room.. I should not have to ask for one.

The furniture was worn. The bathtub surface was cracked all over.

The clerk at the front desk was difficult to understand and emphasized the negatives, somewhat like Nick Saban in the VRBO commercials. Parking was more complicated than at most hotels.

Rooms (beds) a little dated and bed was not very comfortable. The hotel across the street was boarded up not a good look for the city.

Get the breakfast. The manager was so wonderful. Needed a to go container and he was beyond helpful and kind. Give that guy a raise.

Downtown Springfield is completely empty after hours though.

Our first room was musty smelling and the carpet was wet. The lobby furniture was gross and dirty. The tile grout throughout the hotel was dirty. The hallway carpet was stained. The cleaning lady took my daughter’s bathing suit while cleaning the room and hotel staff were unable to locate it. We even filled out a missing item report, but it was never found and they did not offer any compensation. Would not stay here again.

Would not advise walking the area alone we were approached by drug addicts and homeless people 4 times in one day … hotel is nice but room temperature is hot not able to adjust ur temperature! No breakfast

Great walking location for all the Lincoln sites in town. The desk staff were extremely good at checking with us throughout the stay to be sure we had all we needed.

The room smelled extremely musty.. also the tile in the bathrooms were torn and the showers were worn down. For the high price of a room there, I would have thought the upkeep would be a lot better. Definitely not almost 400$ a night.

I love this hotel, beautiful facility, great staff, great location...BUT...no in-room fridge which is a must for most all family travelers and most lower end hotels have them standard, plus no ventilation/fan in the bathroom?!, no in-room microwave, and a hot tub that has a not-in-service panel boarded up and hasn't been working for at least the last 2 years I've been going. Come on, you're better than this.

Have to pay for parking. Small uncomfortable beds. Heavy curtains don’t close. Had to tie them up. Will not stay again.

Finally was able to get a room at 5:45pm when we returned to the desk asking for an update and keys asap as we were to be somewhere and hadn't even had time to get ready. It ruined our evening plans and we had very upset daughters. They did not offer a discount or anything for the future which is very poor customer service. Never had this experience anywhere else.

I always love staying at the Lincoln hotel. Its location is perfect for anything in the historic section of the city. Everything you'd want to do is within walking distance. Love this the hotel!!

Very slow check in, 20 plus minutes and I already had the reservation booked on Expedia. The hotel is very dated and loud, you can hear everything and it didn’t help we had very loud kids across the hall. Room was clean but had a musty smell to it. Very basic room, no refrigerator. I’ve been in much worse, but for the price of this room I would definitely not recommend it. You definitely can’t tell this is a Hilton brand hotel.

Although it is centrally located and very convenient to go do things in the center of Springfield and has a charming history it is badly in need of an update. Especially that there are no fridges in the rooms and no air conditioning unit for each room. The pool area was also badly in need of repair and refurbishment

Excellent location for downtown Springfield. We really enjoyed our stay. Just for a FYI, the shower and sink in Room 822 could use some work. Shower is weak, sink stopper is broken.

Great location and a nice hotel. Morning coffee available in the lobby area which was very nice indeed. Coffee in the room not great so this was welcome. Use of microwave in shop area very welcome. Pillows are a bit too soft but overall comfort was great. I would definitely come back. A great stay.

No free breakfast, despite checking “Breakfast Included” as one of the search terms when booking. Parts of this hotel (esp pool) are run-down. Whirpool not working. Room was not serviced / refreshed after first night. Location perfect for the downtown Abe Lincoln sites but otherwise this was barely average to below average

The stay was good. But the temperature in The restaurants was awful, near 50 deg i seemed and when asked to warm it up was told it could not be done. So we ate outside the hotel !!

A pack and play is not a crib. So when I arrived I was surprised to see a pack and play in our room instead of the crib I was promised by the staff. Had I known this I would have made other sleeping arrangements for my baby. Also, the bathtub lining was severely chipped throughout. Leaving us no way to properly give our baby a bath. Also, one of their elevators was not working which caused us to have to wait for 15-20 minutes to get to and from our room. Some guests even started using the service area due to the long wait time. There are no hotel porters so you have to bring your own bags up to your room. However, they only have 2 luggage carts which made checking in and out a headache, especially during peak times. As there were long wait times to use one (30+ minutes). They do not have parking available for guests on the premises which is another inconvenience. You have to pay daily in the state owned parking garage next door. Overall a terrible experience, no where near an experience that I would traditionally associate with the DoubleTree.

Not sure what is worse, that this hotel is kind of gross or that it is the best hotel in downtown Springfield.

The location was fabulous. We could walk to many of Lincoln attractions. That said, the hotel was outdated and less than pristine. We called and asked for housekeeping to come, and while they replaced towels, etc., they didn’t make the bed. There was no refrigerator in the room. The carpets throughout the hotel were stained, and there was mold in the bathroom shower.

It is perfect for the Memorial and the BOZ Center is right next door.

Great hotel!

Not worth the money spent. Room was outdated, television was 20 years old with 15 channels. Windows were drafty, heating and AC was awful. Shower doors almost fell off when getting in. Low Water pressure with an awful shower head. Toilet almost clogged every time we flushed. My son in another room had to stop using the toilet because it stopped working. Unacceptable and super disappointed.

There was a hole in the 2nd floor ceiling. The elevators were not working properly. The hotel would not validate the parking garage. The cost was over $350 for one night. Had I stayed 2 nights it would have been $180 a night. Why are we charging double for one night? Just to get the extra money?

No breakfast buffet even though I paid extra for it. Their excuse was we don’t have enough customers to make the buffet! Didn’t get my money back either!

Great comfortable room

The checkin line was very long. The parking is a garage and paid parking. The rooms are a bit dated. It took several minute of running the water to get warm water for the shower. The tvs need updated, there is no guide, and very small. For the price the room didn’t offer much.

Had a great stay at this Double Tree.

It seems you need to update bathroom, and no just pieces and parts. For example, the floor has tile from way back, then some that looks like it was the last piece, or part damaged. The sink set up has not changed, but the shower looked relatively new. However the shower door was not attached, as if they had forgotten, though that leaked. Toilet should below use for water, instead of something for 1985. The carpet also showed wear. Just some of those fixes would go a long way toward giving better atmosphere.

Nicest hotel in downtown Springfield

Nothing unique. Apropos for Springfield, Il. Friendly service. Clean room. Not asking for much more. Did do extra by providing wheelchair for my 83 y.o. mom upon request. That was HUGE.

Parking garage was not operating properly causing a long line and confusion. There were several signs stating there had been break-ins & thefts out of car - appreciate the heads up but was concerned about personal safety and protection of my car. Room was hot and the shower head was terrible.
