    Not the cleanest. Staff were accommodating and helpful. Wish I didn’t feel pressured to choose a room in which they give you options to choose your room. I was only able to view 1 out of 3 of the rooms they selected for me. Pool isn’t accessible, bedding could be a lot more clean so can the rooms.

    Here is an hinest review. I checked in and they already had my room inspection form filled out. When I got ro the room there were stains on the comforter and hairs on the sheets, when I asked for new ones she told me I could change them myself. The tub was white with cleaner I wouldn't use the shower. There were building materials in the hall and none of the amenities were avaliable. The only bright spot was the housekeeper Hope. She gladly came in and changed my sheets while when talking to her she was working unpaid because they didn't give her enough hours to get everything done right. This is an extended stay facility and she resides there as well as works there. She has my sympathy for both.

    I understand the place was under some construction, but if you’re going to accept any guests in any of the rooms, then at least take pride in those individual rooms. When this was brought to the attention of the desk staff, they didn’t have any reply. I’ll be filing with BBB and possibly the health dept.

    Nothing Was lied to about cable tv. Got bed bug bites all over my body. Paid for 6 days and stayed 3 after being moved to a different room and checked out and went to another place. Never be cheap again. It was like a warzone. Homeless people all over Garbage stacked at the elevators. I can’t type enough to discredit this place

    The facilities were unsatisfactory. The staff spoke poor English, no one ever smiled. I was charged for taxes and fees because they claimed Hotels.com did not pay them. The website stated that taxes and fees were included, However, the most egregious thing was no TV.     This facility had obviously just been acquired & was in the midst of massive remodeling but it should not be open yet. It was in no condition to have people staying there. Fortunately it was required that we look at the rooms & we declined to stay. I am trying to see about a refund.

    Upon arrival at the property, there was two large piles of vomit right outside the main entrance of the hotel we proceeded to go in and check in the person that checked us in gave us a key told us to go check our room before we even signed in. I had went up to our room. The room was dirty. The bedding was dirty. There was mode in the bathroom on the ceiling. The tub was filthy. There were dishes on the counter, like someone who just did the dishes. The blinds in the window were ripped and torn. The TV would only show one channel. There were two remotes. One remote was broke no batteries in it as well. We pulled the sheets back and found some kind of an electrical on and off switch lane in the bed. . They asked me what I wanted them to do with it. We had one towel no washcloth I asked for a couple more towels and washcloths. They said it would be a while because they had no clean towels in the facility proceeding to get off on the elevator on the fourth floor was a pile of trash, roughly 68 bags of garbage in the corner the whole floor smelled like cigarette smoke and somebody been cooking up there. Very awful experience very dissatisfied of the stay. The hotel was very disgusting. I don’t know what to say else. If they’re expecting to stay open longer, they need to do better.

    Air conditioner worked. Took over 1 hour to check in, hotel did not have any key cards available. Elevator was broken so had to take 4 flights of stairs to room. Stairwell was very dirty and people had been smoking in it with cigarette butts and dirty clothes in the corner of bottom floor. The television did not work. The parking lot was full of people loitering, smoking and drinking.

    The room was clean. The bed and pillows were fine, and the TV with lots of station choices worked well. The ice machine was close by and worked fine. There was no breakfast provided, and no chair in the room. There was considerable noise in the hallway until about 10 pm. The pool was closed, and the elevators are out of service.

    I’ve stayed in places that weren’t nice, but this place was downright scary. Someone had removed the tv from the room before I got there. The desk clerk asked to see my credit card, then made a copy of it on the same piece of paper with my drivers license so I now need to cancel the card because the 3 digit code and my zip code were all on the page he copied. I was tired and needed to sleep so didn’t make a scene at the time, but this was just unacceptable. I also signed a paper before he took my credit card that said I wouldn’t challenge charges, so wasn’t sure if it was some sort of scam about them later claiming that I’d taken the tv out of the room. I called the front desk when I got to the room to report that there was no tv but I was too tired to go all the way back downstairs with my luggage to get a new room. Honestly, the worst hotel experience of my life.

    First room was very dirty with stains on linens, stains on walls, and in the bathroom. Floor had not been vacuumed recently. We decided to ask for a room change, and the second room had even more issues. Exposed wiring and an inoperable HVAC unit, mold around the wall sprinkler head, and mattress cover had cigarette burns and more stains on pillows. Staff tried to help us though and gave us a refund. Do not stay here.

    This property needs a complete renovation. The photos being used to advertise this hotel are false and I requested a refunded for the reservation, as I couldn’t stay that evening. There wasn’t anything good I could say about this property. The snake detectors are broken and disconnected in the room, just hanging by the wires. That was a safety concern. The hotel had a strong odor of smoke and cannabis throughout the hallways and main foyer area. There was no complimentary breakfast, as advertised, with the area closed & loaded with mattresses, book shelves, old washer machines and other items visible to the exterior street view. The paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the sink was not properly mounted to the wall. The towel hook was broken and hanging and the bathtub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Although friendly, the staff seemed confused when I asked about a late checkout. I was advised to bring my old towels down to the front desk to trade for clean ones. One elevator didn’t work and the other elevator had an expired inspection form posted. There was also a weather issue, with signs indicating that the water would be turned off for the duration of the following day. This had to be the worst “Under New Management” hotel that I have ever been in. Due to my safety, I left the property. No one was at the front desk at the time of my departure, so the key was left on the main desk.

    Pulled into the parking lot and there were men working on cars. A car with plastic bag over a broken window and wheel on blocks also. No sign saying where registration was. I did not stay there. Called the facility and the simply answered phone "hello". I had to ask if I had reached the hotel. Told the woman why I wanted to cancel. She took my name, said "done" and hung up. Did not feel safe there as a single woman traveler. I instead went to the Microtel.

    We got there and check in took twice as long because a lot of the rooms were not ready for guests. We were told that the pool was out of order and that was not disclosed to any guests prior to check in. The elevator was also out of order, which was terrible because I have back problems and climbing 4 sets of stairs was awful. We finally get checked in and get to our room. Room was completely disheveled and most definitely not ready for guests. Mattress was off the box springs, wall safe was out in the middle of the room, dirty dishes on the sink and the room was dirty. We ended up getting put in a new room on a lower floor after that catastrophe. We were disappointed. We have stayed here before and have had good luck. We won’t be returning.

    The outside appearance and maintenance of the hotel was very nice. The lobby looked clean and open, but the front desk looked very shabby. when given a room on the fourth floor I asked if there was an elevator as I am 73 years old, I was told yes, but later found out that it was not working. The stairway that I had to take up to the fourth floor was filthy. It looked like it had not been cleaned for months my room and bathroom very spacious and clean. The room was well equipped for a suite, and the bed was extremely comfortable. If you would fix the elevator, clean the stairwell, and remodeled the front desk area you would have a very nice hotel.

Booked through Expedia so did not see these negative reviews. Pictures are flattering. Maintenance has not been kept up. Peeling paint throughout. Water leaks evident in lobby. Floors are dirty in common areas. Expedia unable to reach management to address complaints. Hotel did refund my booking after I checked out at midnight due to the bedbugs.

    One of the worst experiences ive had at that location i came to front desk and employee told me elevator doesn’t work and then i had to carry my bags up on the stairs i get up to go to my room then i look on the room door is open and i knock and there is no one but as soon as i opened the room door it was huge mess on the floor things are broken and it smells soooo bad and the people in the hall way just didn’t feel safe at all the whole place looks very sketchy i will not suggest to bring family there very unprofessional service i spoke with the manger and he didn’t really care he told me no the area is ok i been waiting for my refund as i didn’t stay a single min in there.

    This experience allowed me to understand I will never again stay at a Main Stay Hotel ever again or at any other Hotel that allows people to live for months at a time. The sheets were disgusting. There were ROACH traps in the bathroom. There was commotion in the hallways ALL night long. There were arguing outside my window throughout the night. I truly did not feel safe at this place. I traveled for work purposes and getting rest was unobtainable on this night. I woke tire and outdone.

    I booked 3 days, 2 night stay in this hotel. After checking in, i went to my room but unfortunately the room that they gave me was not even ready yet. It was not cleaned yet, the TV was on, beddings was messy. I told and complained to the front desk and they gave me a different room. There were 2 times that staff forced to open my door without knocking. They said they need to out something, the other one said he thought nobody was in my room. There were 3x staff came knocking so loud needing to out something in my room eventhough i already put “do not disturb” on the door. I was doing a very important video meeting for my work at that time. I complained at the front desk and i was told that they didn’t see a staff on their surveillance footage a staff trying to open my door. The hallway upstairs smelled like marijuana all day long. When i was checking iin, there were 3 guests also checking in who acted and looked like they were so high, snorting every now and then, smelled like marijuana. The staff even gave me the room card right away as he is aware that the 3 guests are unsafe. The location is unsafe. I did not know that the location is not great. I can afford to get better hotel in the area or in soringfield, but that time i was trying to save a little bit. The right word to describe this hotel is Scary, Poor and yucky. I should be staying until the 3rd day, but i decided to check out early, crappy hotel. This is not an exaggeration.

    $100 incidental on top of room cost of checking in. Which is reimbursed upon checking out, didnt know but no worries. Outlets in room didnt work and informed staff before checking in. As they have you check the room before hand. I was offered to swap rooms but it wasn't a big deal to me as bathroom outlets work. Room was clean otherwise and staff was friendly.

    We have stay at this property many times throughout the years for work travel family fun , I have to say this is the worst it has ever been I would not recommend this hotel to any one I’d give it a 0.0 , during check-in, we were not allowed to check in until after 3 o’clock and the manager came out and was telling people that you may not have a room because their system was screwed up and if you’re in charge people an extra hundred dollars or more for a security deposit on the room you need to put that in your ad till you get to the hotel and surprise people with another fee on their card and then you get a bill the price ain’t even what you were quoted online. That’s kind of ridiculous also

    Close to interstate and State Fair wasn’t that far away. Front desk was on the ball. Was disappointed that there was no coffee available on any of the days. Air conditioner worked, toilet flushed and no clogged drains. Refrigerator was very clean! Very reasonable price too.

    In 5 days we had no housekeeping services, even after repeated requests. We had to go to the front desk for towels, toilet paper, soap and coffee refills. Trash was running over. When the floor housekeeper was questioned, he told us we could clean the room ourselves My advice is to find a different hotel

    We arrived late after a concert and they did not hold our reservation and therefore there was no room available for us! The whole town was booked full because of this concert so we had to drive 2 hours home at 1:00 in the morning! Never heard of a hotel not honoring a reservation!!

    We chose not to stay because it was in a really sketchy area. It felt completely unsafe I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Especially a family. We talked to people from the area snd they said we made the right decision. Not a safe area at all

    Up on my arrival, the lady at the front desk gave me my room key number 229, she told me to check the room to make sure everything was ok. The room had bugs crawling around a bug even tried to get in my bag and it was several bugs crawling around in the tub so they had to change me to another room, #322 which the tub was very dirty and the mirrors were dirty as well

    The lobby is pretty and everyone that works here was very friendly. But the actual condition of the room was just off. The room could be a lot cleaner, the paint in the bathroom was peeling off the ceiling, and the toilet paper dispenser was broken. We could never figure out how to work the TV or they don’t pay for cable. The linens for the bed need to be replaced. The room is a decent size, but the massive regular fridge needs to be smaller so it looks less awkward in the room. The price is what you pay for but it looks like the hotel is in a middle of a remodel and it just kinda stopped.

    Please do not stay at this hotel. First room unclean, hair strands in the bed. Second room the bed had a deep dip in the middle and used soap in the tub. Third option had roaches in the bathroom. Not to mention homeless persons roaming in and out of the lobby. I left and had to find another hotel to stay. I lost my money but gained peace of mind.

    It was very strange as it is like they expect the room to not be good as they have you visit the room to see if you will accept it before they will even let you in the room plus they have you sign multiple documents about accepting the stay the way it is. They also were aware all of their vending machines were empty and the only solution they had was to leave the hotel to get some out.

    In the lobby, people were drinking beer and were very loud yelling and playing loud music. It looked like the people were running the hotel instead of the staff. That wasn’t the worst part, there was only one room left, it was a mess. The bed was not made up. It looked as if someone had slept on it and checked out. The cleaning staff didn’t clean the room and make up the bed.

    My room was dirty. It wasn’t vacuumed, someone else’s soap from a previous shower was still in the soap dish in the shower, the sink wouldn’t drain, no hairdryer and no bath towels. Was not what I expected.

    When I arrived, the lobby was a zoo - loud noisy kids runn around screaming, a lady doing laundry right in the lobby, a group of 5 adults trying to have a conversation over all the noise - loud! The receptionist was off doing repairs so had to wait awhile to check in. She was very nice. The hotel is very dated - old dingy while boasting a larg sun outside newly opened. There were 3 bags of groceries sitting in the hallway just outside my door. Can’t wait to see what breakfast will be like. I did sleep well

    There were people hanging out in the parking lot drinking at night. Someone wedged a rock into an otherwise locked side door. The entire place wreaked of strong, cheap air fresheners - lobby, hallways and rooms. It was overwhelming. The dingy room had a huge full-size refrigerator that dominated the small space. It was 5 feet away from the small double bed (not a queen.) The walls have lots of small damaged areas, and so did the tub trim. The toilet was dirty and unflushed. The alarm clock was sticky. The air freshener smell was awful. They charge an additional fee for hi-speed internet. They charge $25 for 2nd a guest in your room. They charge $20 every time a pool towel is found in your room. They charge for housekeeping services if needed more than once per week. Signs are posted by the elevators warning guests not to leave dirty dishes in their rooms. Also, key cards must be returned to front desk, visitors must register at the front desk, borrowed dishes must be washed and returned to the front desk, and guests must sign up to use pool. They also require that you sign a form promising not to smoke or have parties in your room. I felt like we were staying at a homeless shelter.

    There were a lot of issues with this stay. They refused to let us check in stating that we had not paid them for the stay. I contacted Hotels.com and they made it very clear that this hotel accepted our payment. We asked for room service to change our sheets and towels daily due to different staff using the room and this was not done a single time during the stay. Every day there was a new problem I had to deal with while staying at this hotel. I would highly not recommend this hotel due to service.

    Dirty, smelled only had one towl that had holes in it. Took twenty minutes to check in. No coffee maker in room, no sheets on bed laundry was in the lobby. No breakfeast just a coffee and juilce machine with bags of oatmela. bathroom was filthy room stunk.

    The next day on Tuesday, I complained at the front desk, and the woman there brought me some more towels. A man she came with also fixed the broken chair in my room. They tried to fix the lights but, unfortunately, could not get them to work. The general manager or owner Ben Anthony is very unprofessional. When I presented him with the issues I had with the hotel, he kept on calling his dad to help him. I had to check out earlier than my original booking because I was very uncomfortable. When I complained about about the condition of the hotel, Ben became angry with me. I would not recommend staying at this hotel under any circumstances.     DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel was awful!! I wouldn’t even call it a hotel, it was more comparable to low-income housing apartments. The hallways smelled of smoke, and old takeout food. The sheets had stains all over them. The shower didn’t drain. The room itself was barely even cleaned. I checked in at 9:00pm and checked out at 10pm. I couldn’t even sleep there, and ended up getting another hotel down the street. I am NOT high maintenance by any means, but this place was the furthest thing from comfortable.

    Property was under construction which was fine. The smell of Marijuana was everywhere and the noise level was terrible. Was there 2 weeks and received no housekeeping. I used thr bathmat as a towel as it was bigger thwn the one bathtowel that was in the room. Cooktop did not work. No coffee maker or toaster in the kitchenette. Multiple times there were large piles of trash by the 2nd floor elevator. Overall a bad stay.

    Place was dirty and way over priced. They where taking advantage of people during the power outages. We also had to put a $700 deposit for being a resident of the town it was in. You will be disappointed in your stay here.

    I wouldn't recommend my family. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this was unacceptable. The swimming pool was nasty and not sanitized with chlorine, water was green. My original room was not cleaned. I was moved to an upgrade but found the top sheet had something on it, which makes me feel the sheets were used and not washed. Just very disappointing.

    Took over an hour to check in. Between calling Hotels.com because their "virtual card" was canceled (or some crap) and the short staffing at the hotel, the check in experience was terrible. Once finally checked in and walking to my room I noticed a smell that reminded me of a nursing home, which continued once I was in my room. TV did not work, which is ok by me, I don't watch the garbage they try to program us with anyway, but it would be nice to see the local weather. To sum up, it was a bed to sleep in. And the sheets seemed to be clean enough. Me being prior military I've slept in worse places. My advice, spend a few more bucks and find a different hotel.

    Check in was very lengthy. I was charged an extra $9.00 at check in for booking my stay through hotels.com. My room smelled like somebody just finished cooking a steak dinner right before I had arrived. The bathroom was not very clean, towels were stained, bedding linens were not fresh, and the pillows were very old and worn out.

    It's truly like they put lipstick on a pig. The lobby was clean and bright... and that's where the cleanliness ended. We were on the 3rd floor, and it smelled SO BAD. The airfreshners would go off intermittently which just covered the stench for a brief period. The pool was AWFUL. There's also an unlocked door in the pool area. When opened, it was stacked FLOOR TO CEILING with microwaves. And we joked that the pot holes in the parking lot were so big they were meth holes. There's also no spot for this, but we were there for a friend's funeral. So it wasn't leisure or business. It was an unfortunate stay all around.

    Check in is at 3. I reserved a room and it wasn’t ready till 4, but they were sorry and put me in a suite which was very nice. Unfortunately, there weren’t any water cups or mugs, but we made it. There wasn’t a hairdryer which was the most disappointing flaw, because I didn’t bring my own. There also wasn’t a large selection for on the go breakfast. Luckily I brought pop tarts for my kids.

    I realized after the fact that this is a TRUE "extended stay." During the night there were people yelling at eachother from the other rooms. The bed sheets and blankets had stains which grossed me out. The bed sank through the middle as if the frame was broken. I did not pitch a fit about it because I knew I would be there for 2 nights. If I ever visit Springfield, I will not book here.

    Our dog died, delaying our departure from home. Then, before we even left our hometown we were side swiped in our rental car (other driver at fault). Because it was a rental there was extra paper work and we had to involve the police. Accident occured at 8:25pm on Friday 3/10/23. We werent able to leave Cedar Rapids IA until 10pm. I called the ESA hotel to explain we'd be late arriving and they said that our reservation would be fine. It wasnt fine. My "guaranteed" booking was non-existant. I was upcharged for a suite just to get a room. Got up to that suite and it was OCCUPIED!! I went back down and after much heated discussion, my family of 4 was placed in a single King studio room, left vacant when someone else didn't arrive for their reservation. This hotel smells like smoke despite numerous no smoking signs.

    Didn't get to sleep till 1am due to noise from kids around me and slamming doors. Paint was peeling off criling in bathroom, due to no exhaust fan. Bathroom floor was filthy and the walls were dirty. No ice machine on each floor, only on 1st floor. Receptionist was very nice & friendly & helpful. Requested receipt to be emailed, & still haven't received it.
