Power was out do to storms, and after booking thru Hotels.com I arrived and they told me "No Locals" and refused me a room. No policy is posted on site or on webpage or Hotels.com

Everything was clean and quiet. The front end staff was great! They were friendly and helpful, except the manager. She was kinda crabby. They work hard tending the front desk AND doing the laundry! The breakfast in the morning was good. Real eggs! Made in house.

Hotel was average. Past reviews were why we picked the hotel. Breakfast was gone by 9:15 with no extra food being brought out while many people were still waiting to eat. Nobody to be found to ask for more food. Room was clean, bathroom less than desirable and the air conditioning barely worked.

I never really had the chance to stay at the Comfort Inn in Springfield. I made the reservation late the night before while on the road and entered the date incorrectly, mistakenly using the default current date that was only good for an hour. When I arrived, I was told of my mistake and tried to correct it though Hotels.com with no success. It was my mistake, but I lost the 126.00 charge and was offered a room at 180.00 "if I was still interested" in staying at the Comfort Inn. The thought of being charged well over $300.00 total for one nights stay was absurd and an insult. I understand the policy is an industry-wide practice, but the cost of a "fully refundable" room is often more than I am willing to pay and I'm forced into gambling on nothing like an illness or other schedule change occurring and costing me a charge I can't afford. It was my mistake this time, but I will no longer patronize any hotel with such policies as well as Hotels.com, Expedia, or any third-party reservation services in the future. I'm tired of the extortion.

Continental breakfast was delicious. The staff was amazing with my escapee 4-year-old. Multiple times. I can't thank them enough. The rooms were great and the only thing that I thought was a little off was the jacuzzi water was in super clear. But it was refreshing!

The suite was a nice option having a living room with a separate television although the couch is very old and too low to the ground ( could use an update ). Stayed a Friday night during Memorial Day weekend due to out of state traveling so the rate was quite high for this brand.

Room was clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable! Had a great night’s sleep after 12 hours on the road! The continental breakfast was the usual fixings except they actually served real scrambled eggs! I didn’t think anyone did that anymore!

Anyway, don’t trust the pics; they misrepresent hotel and area. This property is in the hood and many many bikers stay there. Very depressing situation and not what I was lead to believe from other hotel reviews.

The breakfast was ok. Should’ve had another meat option. Too many visitors not enough food being cooked or brought out in a timely manner. The night staff was rude. Was told we couldn’t bring drinks into pool area but others coming in after was allowed to. Our complaints were taking less seriously. Not enough staff.

Both my parents and I got a room. One king, and a double. Both rooms smelled like they had been smoked in and also had smells of mold/mildew. We ended up going to Scheels and getting some wall plug ins which helped with the smell. My husband is extremely allergic to mold and woke up the following morning feeling it in his chest. We ended up not staying the second night and did not mention it to staff as we felt since both rooms had the same issue, it would probably be consistent throughout the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and the room was very clean. The curtains were sheer and see-through, so we couldn’t change in our rooms and the lights from businesses across the parking lot shone in all night. (There are decorative curtains that only close partially and the sheer panels are the ones that close all the way.) The pool is fine and our kids had a great time in it, but the paint on the bottom of the pool and hot tub is very chipped and needs repair. The hot tub jets barely worked. For the price, though, we enjoyed the two nights we spent there!

We came to visit for a memorial service. We found that this property was clean, suite was spacious and we were surprised to have the flexibility to choose the floor we wanted to stay on- a bonus as I am pregnant and large. We spent some time at a family members separate hotel (a lot more pricey) and preferred our stay at our location at the Comfort Inn! Our rooms were bigger and cleaner and the whole place smelled nicer than the ritzy competitor. We didn’t have a chance to check out the pool but I’m sure it was also nice. Breakfast was good and even though they were short staffed the day of checkout they made sure everyone had what they wanted and needed and were very pleasant to work with. Would return.

The beds were comfy overall. The smoke detector was beeping and had to have several people attempt to fix it without success. The space was nice for our family to have a separate sleeping space. Good shower water pressure. Breakfast had a good variety but all the juices were either out or very watered down.

Room was probably the cleanest I’ve stayed in a long time, so thank you!! Being able to get ice without asking the front desk would have verbs nice or a water fountain. The water in the fitness center was out. I’m sure it’s not easily doable but having the hot tub/spa away from the pool would be amazing, to be able to relax away from kids splashing and yelling in the pool.

The staff here was amazing! It is an older Hotel but clean and very basic. The pool and hot tub was out for about a day and a half which was disappointing but it did get fixed while we were there. Breakfast was good! The staff made the place though they were willing to do anything you needed to make you happy! A very joyful group of people working at this hotel!

This hotel presented many problem. First and utmost, the room was not clean at all. The couch and chair was so filthy I refused to sit on it. The floor had not been vacuumed. The beds looked as if someone had laid in them prior to my arrival. The curtains were wrinkled and just looked tacky. In the bathroom (which by the way was the cleanest room) there was a bug on the wall. There were several places where the paint had been chipped off the wall in the sitting room and in the bedroom. Food from the previous occupant was still in the refrigerator. The only reason I rated this hotel poor instead of terrible is because all the staff I came into contact with was very nice and friendly. Due to my extremely late arrival I stayed in the room to get a few hours sleep and left early.

Room was nice and clean and the breakfast was very good. We used the pool and hot tub but the chlorine was so strong in the pool that we could only stay in the pool area for a half hour. Our children’s eyes and faces were bright red and burning. The biggest issue we had was that we got no sleep due to a dog being locked inside a truck all night outside our window. It barked all night and we initially thought it was in a camper but found out in the morning it was in the cab of the truck. When we confronted the hotel staff early in the morning, they had already received several complaints but had not done anything about it. We asked them to call the police since it was animal cruelty due to it being 17 degrees overnight. They said they were waiting until the manager arrived at 7:00am. A few minutes after we talked to the front desk, the owner happened to get in his truck and leave with the dog. There were several people complaining at the front desk that they were up all night from the noise. The hotel said they would be contacting Expedia on behalf of us for a refund. We will see.

I had a great room and a good night sleep. It was NYE and the hotel had one person working front desk, room issues, laundry etc. The computer system also went down which meant a delay in check- in. Kudos to the employee for keeping it together. Breakfast was standard waffles, eggs, & sausage. Sidenote GPS coordinates may lead you to another place I passed the hotel thinking it was further down. Overall good stay.

The supervisor at the hotel saw the issue, canceled the original reservation, and rebooked it correctly. As a result, I was charged for the night of December 2nd—which I did stay—and also charged for December 3rd, even though I was in Oklahoma City at the time, on my way to Tucson, AZ for the winter. I disputed the December 3rd charge with my credit card company, and they reversed it. After this experience, I will never use Hotels.com again. Your customer service has been extremely disappointing, and I will advise others not to use your service.

Didn't get any breakfast as this location is just a half mile from Mel O Cream donuts. Staff was very pleasant throughout the stay.

Just passing thru for 1 night. We got a suite, which was a bonus. The room and restroom were very clean. We didn’t eat breakfast due to an early start back on the road. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. The lobby and rooms were nicely decorated.

this hotel could use some updating I stay in Comfort Inn's a lot Probably about 35 times a year I'm a travel nurse and with some of my assignments I go and then work on housing or just choose to stay in the hotel if I travel while I'm on assignment. The rooms are just dated and need some love. The staff was always appropriate. The Ice machines dont work on the floors so you have to go to the lobby to get Ice. I probably will continue to stay here more throughout this assignment unless I find somewhere else closer to the hospital I wish they had a travel nurse discount also.

I traveled with my elderly parents to my uncle's funeral. We stayed in the accessible room. It was nice to be able to park right outside the room and not have to haul our luggage far at all. The breakfast was wonderful with a nice variety of different foods. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and kind.

everything was good. The only disappointment was the whirlpool was broken and looked like it hasn't been used in a long time.

Fresh coffee and we left for airport very early so breakfast buffet was available but staff gave us bagels and muffins so very nice!!

However, the bedsheets had stains. One lamp was missing the outlet plug. Did not eat breakfast, just had juice and coffee. Not bad for an overnight stay.

The place needs a complete renovation

The room was super clean. Beds could use a refresher, they where a bit " worn in". Breakfast wasn't much to choose from but what was available was yummy. Hot tub was super hot but not running properly. The pool room definitely needs some ventilation.

The the common areas are clean, well lit and updated. The staff are friendly especially the front desk. The room was also clean andnupdated. The bedding looked and felt clean. I would go back to this hotel again, happily. The breakfast was better than most hotels of this same caliber. The low point was the pool. The water was murky. But, the pool is not a deal breaker for me because I was here on business. But my boys would have been disappointed.

Room was clean and comfortable, shower pressure was great and not noisy - didn’t feel like I was waking up the whole floor by turning on the shower after 11pm. Didn't partake of the breakfast (was driving Route 66 to St Louis, so already had plans to stop at the Cozy Dog Drive In down the street) but it smelled good. I would stay here again.

The room was huge and even had a second room for those that needed to be up and about earlier - but didn't want to disturb the other. The staff gave supper suggestions and the local area delivered a wonderful pizza right to our door. And when we brought the leftover's down for disposal, they were happy to take it from us.

Bed is very comfy and room is spacious, but room needs refreshing. Curtains looked like they were washed but never pressed, hung up with lots of wrinkles. Room is very dark because of very dark bold colors.

This is so far, the nicest hotel we have stayed at since arriving in the US! Much better value than the city ones, which weren’t as nice. Liked it so much, we booked another one the following night in a different city.

The AC was okay. I had turn it down to 65 to get the room cool and dehumidified. It didn't feel like 65 in the room, but it was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. The shower had a lot of water pressure. Water could get pretty hot. Breakfast was great. They did run out of coffee each morning though. The first morning that I had their breakfast, the lady running it did NOT want to do her job. She let things run out and did not refill them. I had to ask for syrup or I wouldn't have had any. The next two days, a different lady was running breakfast. She was much better. Pool temp was perfect- not freezing! It's not very big or deep. That was okay with my family. The hot tub is very hot and in-ground. People on our floor were smoking weed. Not sure if management was aware.

The room smells and very dark. Not enough lighting and felt like we were in an age old building. The front elevation is so good but inside.

Other than that the accommodations were nice and convenient to each of the places I went to during the weekend.

Very nice property. The room was more than adequate. However, it would be an improvement if there were grab bars in the tub/shower. The bottom of the tub is very slippery when wet and soapy. Either a grab bar or a in-tub mat would be much safer, especially for older guests.

Staff was friendly and helpful! One door could not be opened from the outside. Hot tub did not work properly, as it wouldn't produce any bubbles when the timer was turned on.

We came for a couple days getaway with the grandkids. We got a room that slept 5. The room was great but the pull out couch mattress was horrible. You could feel every wire in the mattress. I felt so bad for my 10yr old grandson that had to sleep in it. I was disappointed in the fact that the couch cushions were flat and the desk chair was broke and would recline pretty far back unless you set the backrest against the desk. While checking out I noticed mildew on the side of the mattress and box springs of one of the beds. The pool seemed a little murky also. I will say that the staff were great though and the continental free breakfast was delicious.

Overall it was ok. The location was good and the staff were great. However there was an issue with ants/bugs in the room. They did not have any other rooms to move me to, but the staff did come up and spray with disinfectant. Unfortunately it did not help and I went and bought ant traps to put around. Just made the stay slightly uncomfortable.

The staff was nice, but they were clearly short staffed, with the receptionist also doing laundry duties. We got a 2 room double queen suite. The layout was fantastic for a family with young kids who nap, but the rooms are in need of updates. The first room we were assigned smelled like something spoiled in the fridge. The second room's carpet was damp, but we assumed it was from being shampooed so we appreciated that for our crawling baby. We were given a folding crib and a sheet to cover the mattress. The crib was missing the second locking mechanism, but the mattress locked it in place enough to be usable, but there was a risk that the baby could pinch her fingers. The mattress itself was old and dingy and the sheet they provided was damp. We went to Target and bought a mattress cover and fitted crib sheet. When he pulled out the sofabed, the mattress was dirty and extremely uncomfortably. The sofa itself was old, dirty, and felt like it would break every time we sat on it. The armchair was broken. The legs bowed under the slightest weight. The seat adjustment knob fell off of the office chair when it was moved, it fell apart into 3 small pieces including a metal ball bearing which could have easily been swallowed by the baby if we hadn't noticed right away. We had to move the sofa to retrieve a toy and there were discarded towels and garbage back there. The pool was cloudy, but warm. The breakfast was good. The water pressure and temp were great. Air worked well.

The stay was nice. Beds were nice and comfortable. Pull out couch had one corner of bed that was either broken or part of the frame need adjusted but our child was able to sleep on it. Kids liked the pool but the water was cloudy and the pool area itself was hot. Otherwise a nice stay. Liked that they used real eggs for breskfast. Everything was fresh and hot. B&G was fresh and hot . It was nice to have the snacks and drinks from 5 to 7 in the evening.

Property was nice. Couch in living room was worn but appeared to be clean. Bath tub had pubic hair left on the rim but it looked clean otherwise. There was plenty of clean towels. Overall the place was clean in appearance.

The hotel room was clean, the staff were nice but the pool was disgusting. I took a shower then took a swim I showered again and I was filthy! I own a pool; that is unacceptable. I also began to feel sick to my stomach. Children swim there, balance the chemicals and backwash for health and safety!

The only negative I have to say about our stay is that one of the beds in our room was very uncomfortable- it was almost sinking in in the middle. The other bed wasn't too bad. Also, the pool was pretty green and cloudy and the walls of the pool were slimy to the touch. Otherwise, our service was great, clean rooms, and the breakfast was great!

Youngish blond lady on duty was amazing, checking me in quickly and so friendly. Later she was doing laundry while watching front desk and running for ice ( all ice machines down in the heat wave)

The only things I can think of is maybe having the pool a bit warmer. Wasn’t able to use it for that reason and the water also was a bit murky. It would be nice to have a place for soap in the accessible rooms. The room we were put in was great except for that.

The pool and free breakfast was great! The extra pull out pull out sleeper sofa gave us the extra space without paying for a second room, which was perfect for our smaller children who were traveling with us for a family reunion in Springfield, IL.

We chose this place based on previous recent reviews. The hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was great and plenty to choose from. All my interactions with the staff were great as well. We will definitely consider this location for future stays.

The room was very comfortable. The one issue we had was that the elevator and lobby smelled like someone had recently smoked marijuana.

We never received any housekeeping services and we were there for 6 nights. The front desk told us they only provide housekeeping after 3 nights but they never cleaned the room. If we wanted towels we had to go to the front desk to get them. When we checked in they charged my credit card for the entire time and I told them we might check out a day early. My credit card has not been refunded for the extra night yet. I would not recommend this hotel and I question whether I will ever stay at Choice Hotels again! I have emailed the manager and have not yet received a response.

They almost runied my daughters birthday. They don't rent to locals and didn't say anything until it was tine to check in. Had no problem taking my money immediately even tho I had the pay later option. I get I used a 3rd party site but that should be clearly stated before booking, before paying, confirming. Something. Had to stand in the parking lot and book with the hotel across the street.

This is my second time staying here. Always clean and all staff are so friendly!

Stayed here for an overnight with a friend. Everything is just basic, but gets the job done.

Nice staff

Room was at one end of the hotel and key wouldn’t open outside door to that end. Noisy, especially early in the morning. Good location and access to downtown, 55 and 79.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Conveniently located off of highway.

The hotel was easy to get to. Check-in was fast. Loved the pool.

Only complaint, pull out couch mattress was worn and uncomfortable, so we had to rethink our sleeping arrangement. Just a minor issue, but we had a wonderful stay.

The room was great. Close to downtown and many amenities. Clean and polite staff.

Staff were friendly and room was very clean and comfortable.

Our trip got extended and the desk staff was wonderful to work with. Everyone who we encountered was extremely friendly and super polite. My 16 month daughter loved staying here as well. The pool was comfortable warm to enjoy.

I don’t understand why in an almost empty hotel on Monday you put people in rooms right next to each other.

Check in was easy and the clerk was very nice. The room was average and breakfast had limited options.

Great experience. I would stay again on a future visit. Close to downtown Springfield, the Abraham Lincoln Home and neighborhood and Statehouse.
