Reviews
The Davenport Lusso hotel in Spokane is generally well-regarded for its historic charm, comfortable rooms, and central location. However, guests frequently express dissatisfaction with the parking situation and additional fees.
- Historic charm and beautiful decor
- Comfortable rooms and beds
- Parking is off-site and expensive
- Additional fees for amenities

Very clean and the desk clerk was fantastic. An impressive property.
- 5/5
Beautiful remodeled hotel with lots of history.
- 5/5
The property was amazing. Every staff member was attentive and so kind. The hotel is beautiful and the room was perfect. We were unable to access the workout room, which sucked, but it was fine. In their emporium the peanut brittle is 10/10, the pastries are delish, and the chai was so yummy. The peacock lounge was amazing as well. A bit of a splurge for us, but worth it overall.

We stayed at Louie for a weekend getaway and it was perfect. Clean room, polite staff, and good location for walking to nearby food and drinks. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
We loved everything about this place - the staff was friendly & helpful.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff failed to respond quickly to requests
- 4.5/5
Exceptionally clean and comfy. The pool was clean, warm and beautiful After swimming you have to cross the busy downtown street outside in the cold while wet, with people staring. -not recieving my funds for a deposit back onto my CC without calling them. - paying $20.00 unoptional. Included 2 bottle water and 2 tickets to grab a 12oz coffee or bakery food item (cookie, muffin) -The cost to park with the Davenport is almost $30.00!! That is insane pricing! The meter parking is only good parking if it lands on a weekend!

We had a great time.

The room was slanted. It was strange but the bed was comfortable and we slept in!

Wonderful room and the beds are amazing!! Had fun playing pool and chatting with the front desk who are so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

The television was down one whole day, especially during game which we came to see.

Mattress needed replaced and an elderly person would find it hard to get in and out of tub

2 night stay. Loved the Motel and the Staff was incredible. What was HORRIBLE was the parking situation. Arrived in the evening and circled the downtown area for 30 minutes to find a parking spot and I had arranged for Valet Parking. There is just NO ONE out front to maneuver all the illegal parked cars.... every time we left to see friends/family we had to deal with this really cancer issue for this institution. Fix this we'll be back. Not planning on Returning. Too many other options... the one just across the street. Best of Luck and God Bless. :)
- 5/5
Highly recommended, will definitely visit again
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and spotless. The hotel is elegant with wonderful staff and an awesome perk of a free glass of champagne.
- 4.5/5
I like the friendly staff the hotel was really clean. Had a refrigerator humming all night in the room.

Took 10 minutes to be let into the building. Room wasn’t ready at 11PM check in. Had to be switched to a different sized room that was smaller than when I originally booked weeks prior. Staff was unhelpful and gave misinformation. Would not accept Marriot giftcard as form of payment upon check in. Told me to come back in the morning to apply to balance before check out and then was told by another staff member that they could not. Really frustrating.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
I loved how I first walked in to this gorgeous vintage looking lobby that was so cozy and so comfortable and away from the chaos of the original Davenport across the street. And I was immediately greeted by the wonderful reception person and they offered me champagne and I enjoyed my little glass as I sat by the fireplace. Everything was just gorgeous! And the service was so Above and beyond. There is honestly nothing I could say that I did not like about this hotel.

It was attractive, clean and quiet. It t was also close to restaurants, entertainment (we attended the Nutcracker) and shopping. The room did not have a chair to relax in or seating for a couple. There was no coffee or breakfast unless you ordered room service. It would have been uncomfortable trying to utilize room service in the room my wife and I stayed.

The room was amazing! The bed was glorious… I want to visit again just so I can get a great nights sleep… seriously… such a great bed. The local was amazing too. There was a Christmas cocktail place across the street that made the evening fun and breakfast at the main hotel across the opposite street. But the best part was the staff. Always remembering our names, conscientious to our every need… Offering solutions to our restaurant inquiries… and just happy. 10 stars!
- 5/5
Close to everything and stunning design. Great price for value!

Passable
- 5/5
Malaki the front desk host was amazing. Good cocktails and nice fireplace to sit by. Can still walk across the street to other Davenport property.
- 5/5
Excellent front desk and valet staff. Beautiful lobby area. Complimentary glass of champagne at check in. We loved our room. It was spacious, super high ceiling, beautifully furnished and comfortable. They supply l'occitane hair, body wash, hand soap and lotion products in large eco friendly bottles. It's part of the lovely Davenport Hotel across the street, so we enjoyed the Emporium, Peacock Room Lounge and breakfast at the Palm Court Grill. If we had stayed another night, we would've enjoyed the bar cart in front of the fireplace in the lobby of The Louie - next time.
- 5/5
The staff service was excellent. Malachi did a great job for us. He's a keeper!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and room. The staff and butler Jeremy was super kind and helpful. We so enjoyed our stay!! Will be back
- 5/5
Beautiful!
- 1/5
Felt like a bait and switch hotel… no amenities on the premises. Butler service must have been a joke with the sign they have on the counter. This was after a 10-15 min wait in the lobby before anybody was at reception. Was then told that the parking lot for the hotel is at another address a block and a half away. Bar is literally a cart in the middle of the lobby that you would roll to a location. Not happy. Was supposed to be a special trip that ended up being a bust, especially for the price. Also have no idea what the $20 charge for destination as if you haven’t already spent enough in the room. Will not go back
- 5/5
Great overnight stay at The Louie, which is a beautiful hotel from the past.
- 5/5
Comfortable, clean environment for a great overnight stay.
- 5/5
Incredible service and attention to detail! Beautifully remodeled, with a lovely sitting area and pool table room. Perfect mix of vintage and new. Malakai made our trip exceptional with his spirit, assistance, and above & beyond attitude.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent. Very welcoming and helpful!
- 5/5
Cute boutique style hotel but with the excellence that the Davenport line is known for.
- 4/5
All good except for service at check in
- 1/5
I was deceived by the pictures online . Was bad experience
- 1/5
The location is beautiful and a quite convenient walk to many things. The hotel itself is cute, with clear attempts at a consistent theme. Unfortunately, where I must make a negative note - our bathroom had many spots of blood, none of it ours. We complained once, and then twice, and nothing was done. What is more upsetting, we have tried to get in contact with management 3 times (happy to show record) with no reply. I understand it is a new property but wayward bodily fluids feel beyond any level of normalcy.
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
Wonderful stay at this newly redone hotel! We had a lovely time and a great stay! The hotel is tastefully renovated and it looks amazing. Front desk staff is immensely helpful and treat you with great skill and respect. Bed was extremely comfortable.
- 4/5
A good downtown hotel
- 5/5
Everyone that worked at the property were so genuinely helpful and kind!
- 4/5
Very well remodeled, spacious and elegant. Dining and bar option limited. Overall good service.
- 5/5
Only thing is unfortunately is the drugged out people strewn around the streets of Downtown. But that’s not the hotel’s fault.
- 4/5
The staff, lobby and room were excellent. But the website is misleading. It shows pictures of the bar, pool, etc, which are not in the Louie, but across the street in the davenport.
- 5/5
Great accommodations
- 5/5
Very unique upgraded older property
- 2/5
Advertised a restaurant and bar. Both closed. “Go across the street..”
- 5/5
What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional service. I had the pleasure of interacting with Malachi and Noah at the front desk, both of whom were professional, courteous, and attentive to every request. Their genuine hospitality made a lasting impression. It’s refreshing to find such outstanding service in a boutique-style hotel. Well done to the entire team at The Louie—I look forward to my next visit.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff. We had a king room, it was nice sized, bed was very comfy, and it was quiet.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. So pretty and comfortable.
- 5/5
Just remember that this is an older hotel. It doesn't have super modern amenities, but that is not why you pick this place!
- 5/5
I liked everything about this property except accept the people loitering around the streets
- 4/5
Great
- 5/5
Elegant, clean and comfortable. Great location. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
The staff was very polite
- 5/5
Was great, comfy beads, polite staff!! Drink coupons were a hit!
- 5/5
Loved everything about this hotel. Front desk staff were wonderful.
- 2/5
I was awoken at about nine in the morning to someone knocking, then opening the door. I was terrified, and thankfully I had the chain on the door. I am not sure of who it was, but if it was a staff member, I am not sure of the reason for opening my door before check out time if the do not disturb sign is on?!
- 5/5
Breathtaking property
- 4/5
Service and appearance are excellent, but pretty uncomfortable and inconvenient. The bed and pillows were subpar. The toilet paper was a rough, industrial type that didn't fit on the roller. Pretty much all of the amenities except the fitness room are across the street at the Historic Davenport, which is only a little more expensive.
- 5/5
The homeless was a little concerning but overall excellent. Would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to my family and friends. Hotel and staff are all amazing.
- 5/5
We appreciate all that Allison did for us and the desk staff too were so helpful and pleasant. Our visit and our anniversary were so enjoyable thanks to Allison and all of the Davenport properties staff we encountered.
- 5/5
It was our first time staying at this property and it won’t be our last.
- 3/5
The hand towel rack fell off the wall when grabbing a towel in the bathroom. We used this hotel for Hoopfest, it was so nice that the courts were right outside the hotel door.
- 4/5
There was a homeless lady screaming outside our lobby.
- 4/5
Property is located in downtown Spokane and very close to all shopping and dining options.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Location is perfect for enjoying downtown Spokane. Just FYI, add $20 to the quoted price to cover a surprise fee and $25 for parking, if you plan to park in their garage. That being said, they probably gave us $20 in added value to help offset.
- 5/5
Very confortable room, quiet , clean with all needed amenities.
- 3/5
Inside the hotel was nice. Staff was as well. I was not aware that parking your car was an additional $25 a day on top of it being a block away. And parking was in very tight spots. If you wanted any thing like the pool or hot tub access you had to walk to a whole different building through bums and random people. It was definitely an experience and maybe to city for me. Some people might prefer that or are use to that. But I will definitely only do it this time. For the price I paid i wasn't pleased on what I got
- 5/5
Vintage hotel, tastefully remodeled and well appointed, in the heart of Spokane. Nice one night stop, but we’d happily come back.
- 5/5
Love
- 4/5
Beautiful proprty, good location. The parking garage, however, was a block and a half away.
- 5/5
It was a very nice stay.
- 5/5
The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the rooms are massive!! Two thumbs WAY up!!
- 4/5
We really like the security door to get into the building! Love the cookies and brittle!
- 5/5
We've been coming to this hotel for decades and love the bed, tub, etc. We didn't like the mandatory amenity fee good only for that evening, not even for the next morning. As an option it could be good.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. The guest service desk was very friendly. We used valet to park since i didnt want to walk a few blocks for the parking garage. Very pleased with the quick response each time we needed the car. We cant wait to have another 'stay-cation' at the Lusso
- 4/5
The staff seemed to care about our comfort. The locatation is great. We only wished that our matress wasn't so overly soft.
- 4/5
The “destination amenity fees” and parking fees added $45/day combined. The Spokane area is full of transients and leaves a bit to be desired walking around and worse in the warmer months.
- 5/5
Davenport is an exceptional value.
- 3/5
We have stayed at the Davenport many times. This was our first time at the Lusso. Overall the hotel is nice. A few problems with the room. Particularly the bathroom. The lighting is terrible. There is no way to control and the light around the sink and makeup mirror were more like a nightlight. The shower is extremely unsafe to get into. Difficulty getting into the tub and it was extremely slippery. We both almost fell. The room was lovely and very quiet which we did appreciate. The Pub downstairs also closed earlier than we expected. It was New Year's and it closed at 9. We came back to the hotel to get food and nothing was available in either restaurant. Both restaurants were closing up. Very inconvenient for all of the guests still roaming around.
- 3/5
TV did not work for 2 of 3 days. Gave us a $25 food credit. Not enough. Have stayed in the past. Marriott ownership has really dumbed down the property.
- 5/5
We rode our bicycles over from Coeur d’Alene and this was the perfect place to stay. Walking or riding distance to lots of restaurants, shopping, and things to do. Will definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, professional staff, perfect location, very clean; a wonderful stay as it has been in the past.
- 5/5
Beautiful room, friendly service, though it was impossible to find a temporary spot to unload our car.
- 5/5
Huge room!
- 4/5
Hotel was lovely inside, property surrounding seemed unclean and didn't feel safe.
- 5/5
Fabulous place, Fabulous staff!
- 5/5
Very comfortable room and bed. Other than the cost we enjoyed the visit. The valet parking was way too expensive when you realize a tip is expected.
- 5/5
3 days of Vaca in Spokane…hot hot hot weather but the Davenport hotels are wonderful.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at the Lusso. The one drawback was self-parking, it was difficult to find parking nearby.
- 5/5
I loved that this was an older historic-looking building. The bed was super comfortable and there were long windows looking out on to the street below. The bathroom was gorgeous. They've obviously done some really top notch renovations. The staff was super nice, and allowed me an extra hour for check out. The only thing I didn't really like that much was the parking situation. There is one parking garage for all the Davenport properties, and while it wasn't that far away, it was far enough away that walking at night was a little unnerving by myself because of some of the unsavory characters i encountered. However, they mostly just talked to themselves, and I wasn't bothered by anyone, it was just not totally comfortable. But they do have valet service, which I might consider next time because the hotel itself was amazing!
- 3/5
Parking not on site, online description is parking onsite…
- 4/5
Shower had mold
- 5/5
Excellent room, friendly staff, great value. Spokane at its best.
- 4/5
I love how this historic building has been repurposed. Staff here are hands-down the best anywhere. My only complaint is the bed and pillows - far too soft and squishy.
- 2/5
They advertise EV charging, but the staff gave confusing directions to access it and then was given the runaround with conflicting info from the staff at the location I was directed to. Also the bedside lamps were controlled by a switch that also powers a fixed ceiling light so you can’t use the plugs on them for charging your phone overnight, nor can you turn them off from bed otherwise you’d have a ceiling light on all night. Finally there was a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom.
- 3/5
The Lusso also feels a bit lost in the shuffle of downtown when it comes to eating and amenities. It has no dedicated restaurant, and while the attached pub is okay and was willing to let us take up drinks and cutlery, it wasn't easy to order room service. There's no spa or gym or anything extra either, which for a hotel only a few dollars cheaper than the Davenport seems odd. I'm not sure if you can use the facilities there while staying at the Lusso, but even if you can, it's not the same as having these things on the same property. I guess I'd say this place is okay, but if you're going to spend this kind of money, stay at the historic Davenport!
- 5/5
It was fine
- 4/5
The woman at the front desk could have been a bit more pleasant, welcoming and informative.
- 5/5
Wish the windows opened a bit tonket fresh air in on a nice day. Otherwise, beautiful hotel and super convenient to our concert.
- 5/5
The hotel was very gorgeous. Antique-ish. It is what you should expect from such a plush hotel. Only complaint, the pillows are really soft and the bed is as well. Very helpful and understanding staff. Would stay again.
- 4/5
This is a charming hotel with spacious room. The only downside was offsite parking which was quite a pain.
- 2/5
The street people were very noisy every night and made our experience very deportable
- 3/5
🙄
- 3/5
The downside was the dim light in the bathroom mirror area and around the desk area.
- 5/5
We’ve stayed at The Lusso several times and feel it provides good value for our money. This time there were a few cleanliness issues to note. Worst was a very unsightly stain on the sheet- should’ve been easy to see when making the bed. Second, the elevator was being serviced when we arrived so we took the stairs. Stairwell was ABSOLUTELY filthy! I’ve never seen anything like it- like no one had been in there in ten years! Thick dust bunnies everywhere. Thankfully the elevator was operational quickly. Also be aware there are a lot of homeless people in downtown Spokane…
- 5/5
Madeline was great!!
- 3/5
There were no working food or liquid vending machines.
- 4/5
My room could have been better without someone elses toenail clippings, french fries, and dust all around. My bottom sheet had a big hole in it. No vacuuming or dusting. Would I return? Probably, but I may be that person and want to switch rooms for a cleaner one.
- 1/5
So disappointed with my stay here. The doors don’t fit their frames so light and noise seep in around the edges, the king size bed was on a queen sized platform so hung off the edges and was incredibly uncomfortable. Temp in the room was hard to manage. Staffs only solution was to move us to another room that had the same issues. NOT worth the money at all.
- 4/5
Overall a great stay, comfy, clean, and very friendly. I would definitely stay there again!
- 2/5
This hotel property was renovated around 2008, but is now showing its age. While its downtown location is convenient for shopping and restaurants, the rooms are small, dimly lit, and not especially clean.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and rooms!! Beds extremely comfortable (but I like soft beds). Nice complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival! Room and bathroom are very roomy!! Loved the charm of hotel! Friendly staff! Excellent location for being walking distance to everything downtown!
- 3/5
Very nice exterior and room - however there were so many of the little things they seem to not pay attention to. My room had a light out in the bathroom, the TV channels didn't work, and the iron was so old the setting labels were missing. Obviously none of them are huge deals, but not what I expected at a classy hotel.
- 3/5
I thought I had booked the Davenport, but was disappointed when they directed us across the street to the Lusso. The staff was very nice and helpful. No peanut brittle like the Davenport and the pillows I believe were just a bunch of pillowcases wadded up inside and flat. Very uncomfortable.
- 5/5
We really enjoy the style and beauty of this hotel. It has an intimate feel and it in a great location.
- 5/5
The hotel was wonderful. Older building, the rooms were large with very high ceilings
- 5/5
The sound barrier is not great at all….sounds like people are in our room when walking by in hallways and you can hear every creak of someone walking above us. But for the most mart this did not bother us at all. Would definitely stay here again
- 1/5
our bed wasn’t made well and there was a dead bug under my pillow. the phone didn’t work well either along with the mini fridge.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, comfy beds, close to everything downtown Spokane!
- 5/5
Nice staff, nice room.
- 5/5
Davenport properties have been a part of our history for years. its where we stay when we go to Spokane. First class, the best.
- 5/5
It is a beautiful property. The room was cozy, the bed comfortable and the bathtub divine! We were on the street side and it was surprisingly quiet - very little road noise. The Peacock Lounge was wonderful and the Crab Cakes so good that we will definitely be back for more. We love that area of Spokane, there is so much to do. Our next visit will be to the Historic Davenport!! We loved our visit and will most definitely be back.
- 5/5
Nice bed
- 5/5
We love that we could walk everywhere, the food was great and it was close to everything.
- 5/5
Nice and quiet. Good dining options. Great staff.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful. Very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable.
- 3/5
Parking was a nightmare, no help available but staff that existed were pleasant, room carpet I discovered was wet when I stepped on it with my socked feet.
- 4/5
The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were much less comfortable. The sink was dirty with particles that did not rinse off.
- 2/5
We had to pay $22 Dollars to park at another Hotel down the road. The pool is also not located on the premice. There are no fans in the bathroom and the rooms are very small., and the windows don't open. So I would not plan on "#2" if there is anyone else in the room. Pay the extra money for one of the other Hotels in the vcinity. That said, the staff was excilent.
- 5/5
This was a special granddaughter/grandmother trip and I wanted it to be very special and we were not disappointed. The room was beautiful and the service was super friendly and professional. My granddaughter loved the “golden couch”
- 5/5
The Lusso is a charming hotel in a great location with outstanding customer service.
- 5/5
My favorite Spokane Hotel
- 3/5
Love the old building characteristics. However, the room got really stuffy at night despite setting the heat down or even trying to use the air conditioner to cool it down. The bed was pretty soft and probably needs to be swapped out. The room service had great room service food options and the food tasted great. You can’t beat the location.
- 5/5
Great location and we enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Great location, a small charming boutique hotel that is easy to navigate and very quite.
- 5/5
These rooms are very large and much better than I expected
- 5/5
Great fun hotel. Really nice rooms and the bed was very comfortable!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and the room was beautiful
- 5/5
I have stayed there on business and pleasure many times and always look forward to coming back.
- 2/5
Experience was not well. Don’t recommend staying here. We had a clogged toilet, terrible furniture. Called the front desk when we got in to ask to switch but was told the receptionist was currently on lunch and we would receive a call when he got back. No phone call received. Then when checking out we explained what happened and were told a manager would call us. STILL have not heard anything. DON’T recommend staying here. Not worth it at all.
- 4/5
My wife and I always enjoy staying here when we come to Spokane for Bloomsday, to see a play, visit friends, and we want to treat ourselves to a nice hotel.
- 5/5
This is a very nicely done boutique hotel with a excellent attached restaurant and bar.
- 5/5
Parking was far.
- 5/5
The age of the hotel and how it has been maintained. It is lovely.
- 3/5
There are a couple issues...one of the issues is the rooms are very dark and due to the age of the building, there is not adequate lighting. Also, the only USB chargers in the room did not work. I also verified this with other family members and they did not have working USB ports either. The other issue is that there isn't any housekeeping. I understand that we are in the height of a pandemic, but after four days, our dirty towels were starting to smell, and I had to get new coffee supplies daily. Also, the prices were high considering they weren't offering many of the services you would typically get with the hotel.
- 3/5
The building is historic and unique. Quiet despite being in downtown Spokane. Pretty sure I got bit by bed bugs or dust mites though. My whole chest was covered in bites in the morning.
