There was only one person at the front desk checking people in when we arrived and it took a long time for the line to move. Then we got to our room which smelled heavily of dog and room freshener. Very heavy, unpleasant odor. Would not recommend staying here. We had a dog so that’s why we booked it but the carpet in the dog-friendly hotel rooms smell. The hotel room felt very tired: one of the nightstand lamps wasn’t working, the toilet flush was faulty, smelly carpet, etc.
- 5/5
Nice location, friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
I absolutely love this hotel ❤️
- 5/5
Our stop on our way home with our son's dog was smooth at Ruby River. The river side rooms have a bit more space and are worth the difference in price. The location works well with the river path and distance to down town and Gonzaga. The hotel restaurant always has something good to choose to eat. The hotel is also close to a Starbucks for the morning wake up.

Beds very clean & comfortable. Love the river views, pool, hot tub, walkways. Restaurant was fantastic.
- 5/5
It is in an extremely convenient area is located by bike paths out the back door as a wonderful swimming pool and other facilities for children it is convenient to have the bar and everything else here The rooms are exceptionally clean The staff is friendly and helpful is in a secure area it's a great visit There is minor construction off the back but the result is going to be a wonderful pool and a great addition this is already exceptional place

Very clean and great service

My 14 year old was actually in a good mood, she luv the view and the pool. Plus the breakfast at Osprey restaurant was amazing. The only thing we had issues with was tv, since it didn’t work.
- 4/5
Location great staff Beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were “lumpy”
- 4.5/5
Near the Centennial Trail. Coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room. Dark rooms, dark hallways. Only one chair desk chair to sit on. No table or desk area in the room. BUT we asked for two more chairs (we had a part of three for two nights) and staff immediately brought two more, they were shower chairs, but that was better than nothing! We do NOT like to sit on the bed to put on shoes or eat a snack!
- 4.5/5
The outdoor pool, hot tub and the family outdoor area. The restaurant was great too. Nothing
- 5/5
The best hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Very clean, excellent amenities, great location. I would love to visit again.

Location, there were restaurants all around. The pool was perfect for kids (deepest part of the pool was 4' 6) and is wheelchair accessible. Like every first floor room we heard every footstep above us. We didn't make a fuss about it as we were just there for one night. We kind of expected that though .
- 4/5
The location is wonderful, close to heart of town but also within nature. We loved the room with a sliding door to a patio facing the river, with access to the riverwalk, and the design of the building kept all the noise from the restaurant patio contained there, so sitting outside the room was quiet and peaceful. Nice landscaping all around. The restaurant is excellent! The public areas are upgraded and contemporary, but the "Premier Queen" room dated, very dark, and not fully functional. No table in the room, 2 uncomfortable mismatched chairs, built-in furniture kind of old and odd. The bathroom seemed new, but the shower must have been designed by a bald man...a huge rain-type shower head hanging straight down from the ceiling so impossible to shower without soaking your hair or tweaking your neck. Most employees were great but there seemed to be a management changeover or crisis? Tried to pay for dinner with cash but there was NO CASH on site in bar, restaurant, or front desk, to make change., and witnessed others having this problem trying to buy items from the mini-store in the lobby.
- 4/5
Stayed one night on our way to another destination. Easy to find. Outdoor area and riverwalk looked amazing, however, it rained while we were there so did not get to enjoy them as we'd hoped. Rooms were clean overall. Some updating has been done.

- 4.5/5
Nice staff! Comfy bed. Great spot! Our room was clean, no complaints there! The stairways needed a little spruce up.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel ,best location for anything downtown. Adjacent Osprey is great!
- 2/5
The lack of hospitality and training at the front desk was a huge disappointment. Had the person who checked us in warned us in advance about construction (of the infinity pool, which we assumed was the only pool) that obstructed our use of the sliding glass door, bothered to let us know that there was more than one parking lot option if the lot was overfull, told us where to find the main pool, or even smiled, it could have changed the whole tone of our stay. We were told we had a first floor room, then given a key and told to go the furthest building and go up the stairs to the 2nd (??) floor. Obviously we knew not to take the stairs. But once inside, I was shocked to find out that paying extra for Riverside over Cityside was a waste. I was told later that Riverside meant only thay it was quieter and nothing else was guaranteed. This was after I waited on hold for the front desk for 28 minutes before hanging up and walking 6 buildings to speak to someone in person. Later when we came back from our event, the only parking was at the restaurant, 6 buildings away from ours. I quipped as I walked by the front desk that motorcycle parking might be helpful with the lack of parking and so many motorcycles taking up spots and was told this was normal and there were 3 total lots I should have used. This info would have been useful at check in at 3pm, not at 10pm in the dark in a new city. Before check out, we noticed the main pool we were never told about. Overall disappointed.
- 5/5
Everything was absolutely perfect! Our favorite place to stay in Spokane Wa!!
- 5/5
Super clean room and beautiful location. Nice walking path along the river just outside the hotel
- 4/5
Beautiful outdoor spaces right by the river.
- 5/5
Extraordinary staff, amenities, and very clean.
- 5/5
What's the same, good service, good atmosphere and good food, good people.
- 5/5
Convenient and easy access to GU and other local spots.
- 5/5
The property was great and the food at the restaurant outstanding.
- 5/5
This hotel is wonderful! It’s right next to the river and a short walk from downtown. The room was clean and comfortable, and the rain shower head was so nice! The pool was a great temperature! I would stay here again and again!
- 5/5
We loved our room — clean, comfortable and very stylish. The property sits on a river and we enjoyed walking our dogs along the trail. Very nice restaurant/bar with lots of patio seating to enjoy the river view. Also a lovely outdoor pool, children’s play area and small fenced dog area. It is on a very busy street so there was a bit of traffic noise.
- 4/5
Prefer a firm bed, but the king bed was still OK.
- 5/5
Easy location, check in and nice restaurant on site. Clean, quiet, great pool.
- 5/5
Very clean building, pool and spa. Friendly staff and just overall was a great place to stay 😁
- 5/5
lovely as always
- 5/5
Great attached restaurant. Beautiful location along the river. Near convention center and riverside park. Great prices too
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great place!
- 4/5
The checkin process was very slow. ONLY one clerk meant we waited almost 30 minutes to check in.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, great bar staff
- 5/5
If you’re looking for a place with a real urban vibe, energy, and constant activity, this is the spot. Close to downtown with plenty of food spots, things to do, and people out enjoying the area, it has that perfect balance of city life without feeling overwhelming. The atmosphere feels open and refreshing — you can actually get out, move around, and breathe. It’s the kind of place where you feel connected to everything without feeling boxed in.
- 5/5
Thanks

The Ruby River Hotel advertises as a relaxing retreat which couldn’t be further from the truth. This is a party hotel, Vegas style, in the middle of the city. The pool is Vegas pool party, the staff’s attitude is terrible. It is very loud. Parties out by the pool into the morning hours, kids yelling and screaming poolside into the wee hours as well. If you’re wanting a slice of partying Vegas style, no sleep and absolutely no attention or help from the staff, this is the place for you. However if you’re wanting a ‘relaxing retreat’ stay well away from this place. Definitely do not recommend.
- 5/5
Great hotel with a very nice restaurant. I have stayed at this hotel since 2015 when I was a student at Gonzaga. I have never been disappointed with the friendliness of the staff, clean rooms and the complimentary wine and coffee. If you're traveling and need a place to stay, consider Ruby River Hotel, a hidden treaseure of a serene, yet lively atmosphere.
- 5/5
The person at the desk on Thursday (day) was very helpful & pleasant.
- 4/5
The staff were friendly and courteous. They are making upgrades to the pool, which is exciting. Love that it is close to the river trail.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and staff were wonderful. The hotel restaurant was exceptional for both breakfast and dinner.
- 2/5
Could be better, with how pricey it is to stay here
- 5/5
It was perfect
- 4/5
The property was beautiful with an excellent outdoor pool area. The room was clean and updated. The bed was very comfortable. The only bummer was there wasn't an elevator to the 2nd floor. Carrying our bags up the steps was A LOT!
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and quiet.
- 4/5
Good location near Gonzaga university, good onsite restaurant
- 5/5
Amazing hotel!
- 5/5
Nice over all clean and spacious
- 5/5
Amazing pool and nice hotel!
- 4/5
Bead really softy!
- 5/5
Quiet and clean. Checking in and out were problem free. Staff was nice and informative.
- 4/5
Coffee was free at the bar one morning but then they decided not to offer it for the remainder of my trip. Not cool.
- 5/5
Great central location with clean rooms, friendly staff and breakfast/dining area. Very nice bar to watch a game too.
- 5/5
Loved our stay
- 5/5
Loved the restaurant and hot tub.
- 1/5
We were in building six no ventilation, the sliding doors was blocked. You cannot open it , the toilet itself was so low that my mother who is 88 years old, wasn’t able to get up and down from it. I complaint they try to fix it, but nothing happened until the last day of my stay then they moved us to a suite so disappointed been going there for four years.
- 5/5
This hotel is amazing! The staff was super friendly at check in and check out, and they even put the bike I brought for my trip in a safe spot for me overnight! The rooms were super clean and comfy, and the pool area was so nice. We loved being able to be right next to the gorgeous Riverfront park.
- 4/5
I was expecting poolside room. We did not get that. I paid more for an average room. I was disappointed.
- 5/5
The staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is out of this world. We got an awesome room upgrade.
- 5/5
I is always a great property that is why I always stay there and have for the past 7 years
- 5/5
They have done an amazing job of renovating this hotel to a four star resort. Beautiful all around from the gardens, pools, hot tubs and great jogging, biking, paved trails along the river. Osprey restaurant is very nice with decent menu and outdoor dining as well. This is the place to stay in Spokane. Been here several times and all good experiences.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Very personable and professional staff. Great restaurant and great amenities!
- 5/5
Clean and safe, especially for a single female traveling alone.
- 5/5
Poolside rooms had a nice porch with turf. The pool area was beautifully situated on the river. They are building a new pool. New go to Spokane hotel.
- 5/5
We always stay here for Bloomsday
- 3/5
Bldg 6 is 1/4 mile from the front desk (I clocked it). No breakfast included. Construction workers outside my (boarded off) glass door at 6:30 AM, meaning I had to keep the blackout curtains closed. View of a dusty construction site. Waited 20 minutes to check in. Both desk personnel were taking reservations on the phone. Maybe have one on the phone and the other attending to the line of six guests waiting to check in?
- 4/5
The room was decent. It was pretty noisy when trying to sleep, but that was understandable. Pool and hot tub too crowded for us to want to go in.
- 4/5
Nice people at the restaurant - room is clean.
- 5/5
We will be back- beautiful location, staff very welcoming
- 5/5
Room was great and very quiet with river view. I always like staying here.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here numerous times while in Spokane. Love the convenient location, the free parking, great restaurant with wonderful staff, nice pool and hot tub, and nice clean rooms.
- 4/5
Staff was incredibly helpful! Room was comfy and clean.

Nice hotel
- 5/5
Great location. Can not go wrong staying here.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Great staff. Pool is wonderful. Location is ideal.
- 5/5
I love the location of this hotel. They have a great pool, access to a trail along the river just right outside, and the restaurant is really good. The parking lot can get really crowded which is kind of a pain, but other than that we really enjoy staying here when we come to town.
- 3/5
Ran out of Ribs and brisket on menu for dinner. Waiter was poor threw our bill holders with credit cards on table and said we can sort them out ourselves. Wanted a coffee at 9pm in Restaurant and was told machine has been cleaned and shut down so no luck.
- 4/5
Riverside is
- 4/5
Nice hotel in a good location along the river with nice pool and hot tub.
- 4/5
Our room was clean. We have stayed here many times but this stay was disappointing. We weren’t able to get a first floor room in building where we usually stay, the food was not as good and over the past several years we saw a decline. We always loved staying there but this time it was way too busy. Not sure we will return
- 5/5
Went for an event at the convention center. Was a nice easy walk from property. Used our free drink at happy hour after. It was a really nice place to stay with husband.
- 5/5
I just wish they had breakfast
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great location, nice room. Love the river nearby
- 2/5
Put us in building 6. A long way from any amenities even though we asked to be closer to amenities. Noisy construction, cutting concrete next to our sliding door in early morning, college kids banging on our door in the middle of the night and parking a far distance from our room.
- 5/5
The beds are super comfy, the rooms are clean. The staff are friendly and always very professional. I always choose a room overseeing the river . This place is one I will always return to.
- 5/5
All good but would have liked at least a coffee bar in the morning.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Bed mattress was on an oversized metal frame that was not secured so the mattress slid. No grab bars or shelf in the shower. Shower floor was very slippery.
- 5/5
Everything was great, but the front desk staff member was not inviting at all. No greeting and not very friendly.
- 5/5
I loved the location of the property, it was right on the river walk and close to downtown Spokane stores and entertainment venues. The restaurant was great too!
- 5/5
Exceptionally helpful staff
- 5/5
Great environment and quiet, family friendly.
- 5/5
Great setup on the river, wish we had more time.
- 5/5
Construction going on in parking lot. Very crowded
- 5/5
I'd rather not write a review
- 5/5
The location is right on the centennial trail for easy access for walking and biking
- 5/5
It’s my home away from home
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Remember to try the BBQ at the Osprey.
- 4/5
Our stay was ok. Check in was good. Room was ok and very quiet. It was clean but dark. The walls are painted a dark slate with similar colour blinds and tiles in the bathroom. It had a pool view but being tucked into a corner behind an access ramp made it feel very dark, even with the sun in the morning shining in. The beds are a little soft and the furnishings are heavily scratched and need to be resurfaced. Restaurant is excellent and we highly recommend it. Location is great for access to downtown and shopping.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was good….close to Gonzaga. Would stay again
- 5/5
Hot tub was amazing. View was stupendous to wake up to. Clean room and nice check in gal.
- 5/5
The staff was great — breakfast & dinner were super. Quiet & relaxing with a nice view of the river.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. Room very quiet and clean. The restores also very nice. We highly recommend!!
- 5/5
Lovely, convenient property along the river. Nice restaurant. Friendly staff
- 5/5
As usual went very well. Was great took both of our pets and was nice we were next to a back door which made it easier for bathroom breaks for our dogs. Walking them along the trail is always a great thing to do. Thank you
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff was very helpful when needed. Always a pleasure to stay here. Food is good as well.
- 5/5
Great staff great location and the poolside king suite room was very quiet and roomy with a large patio. The only downside was the bed. It was very uncomfortable. Hopefully they can get a new bed in there asap.
- 4/5
CONS: I would suggest to pick the view you want because there are some that look into the other buildings. Also- maid service ended up being sporadic.
- 5/5
Poolside rooms are great Have never had any problems with Ruby Hospitality Group. Would recommend to all travelers. We have stayed at all of the Rubys except Sandpoint. I’m sure we will stay there soon!
- 5/5
Lots of places to stay in Spokane….would choose to stay here again! Walking distance to the veteran’s arena …..
- 4/5
Hot tub closed!!!
- 5/5
Friendly staff 20 dollars extra to check in early, nice restaurant and bar inside the hotel but the river walk was very nice and relaxing way to start or finish the day.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, all we needed! Dinner in the restaurant was wonderful, as always! We stay here every time we are in Spokane!
- 3/5
Clean room, staff just handed me a bunch of papers and didn't provide me with any instructions on 1) needing to put a parking tag on my car 2) amenities the hotel had 3) check out times/process 4) offer guidance on things to do around the area. Also the blanket on the bed was very thin and we had to hike up the heat and sleep in our sweatshirts because we were very cold.
- 5/5
Second time staying there and we will definitely be back! Great food at the restaurant and lots for the kids to do!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Chose this hotel so we wouldn’t have to spend a lot to entertain littles between basketball games. It worked out perfectly!! Near everything including a big park. Will be staying again.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant were nice. Didn’t use the pool, but the area was great. Right on the river with a great walking trail.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Clean room, friendly staff and the food at the restaurant was delicious.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient location for our trip needs. Lots of people in pool and hot tub. On site restaurant had great service with decent food.
- 5/5
Staff is always friendly and rooms are always clean.
- 5/5
We only stayed at the hotel to sleep while passing through Spokane but I was very impressed! The area felt safe which can be a big plus while in Spokane. The rooms were updated and clean. We will be back on our next trip through Spokane.
- 2/5
Comfy bed.

- 4/5
The pool and restaurant were great! Also is an excellent location! The walls between rooms were pretty thin. Also could use more hooks for towels and bathing suits in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Great amenities
- 5/5
The hotel was in a great location.
- 3/5
Red lion. The pool was open And great, although the cabanas and fire pit the pics show were not set- up and cornered off on the pool deck. Our room was poolside and that was an excellent location with access to the pool and a nice little patio. Everything was clean and the staff was great! My biggest complaint was just that it’s an older hotel with low ceilings, small dark room rooms, and the beds and pillows weren’t comfortable.
- 5/5
Overall stay was great. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
Would not recommended for a romantic couples getaway. Our room was next to entrance doors and a vending machine. Paid for a room with walk out access to the hot tub we never had the chance to use with children using it like a pool. Groups of children running the halls and our room was pranked. Called management about the noise but that wasnt a fix all. At check out asked for management to call....never got a call. On the upside though...room was clean & smelled good, bathroom was very nice and had lots of hot water for the shower. The restaurant was a highlight as was the location next to the river & walking paths.
- 4/5
Beautiful location. I enjoyed walking the trails by the River.
- 4/5
Riverside room was more poolside under construction
- 3/5
Parking was difficult when hotel was full. No complimentary coffee available. Restaurant very average and pricey.
- 5/5
The price was right this day was great. We really enjoyed ourselves.

My visit at your hotel was amazing. The staff was awesome and very helpful and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. I travel to Spokane once a year for an event and will definitely book at your hotel again next year. I have actually recommended it to several people that travel to the same event as I do as many were unhappy with their stays at other establishments.
- 5/5
The hotel is located in a nice well lit area. The room was clean.
- 5/5
Great stay, we’ll be back
- 5/5
Didn’t use a pool, I think it’s under construction
- 5/5
Rooms were cleaned and family-friendly.
- 4/5
Miss the coffee in the lobby! Otherwise happy with comfortable beds and clean rooms
- 4/5
Satisfied as always. Just miss more coffee and creamer they had in the lobby. Even the room is pretty limited now.
- 4/5
and always satisfied. The beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Usually customer service at the counter good, but this time checked in with someone I had not seen before. She looked bored and I interrupted her tik tok or whatever on her phone. She mumbled to herself, rubbed her eyes a lot and just not interested in her job. I also miss more coffee and creamer. Other than that, we are satisfied with our Ruby River stay as always.
- 5/5
Very clean room great customer service
- 5/5
Great place to stay, lovely location.

Great location, friendly staff, convenient complementary shuttle to downtown locations, yummy restaurant, nice and clean.

Everything was updated, very clean, and the added amenities to the room were nice.

We love staying at the Ruby! Great location, right on the river and access to the Centennial trail....you can walk to downtown, to the park, or to the University district. Rooms are clean, neat, remodeled, only problem we had were the heavy healed neighbors upstairs. Also, don't miss the BBQ at Osprey. The resturant and bar are fantastic!!!
- 4/5
The staff were polite and the rooms looked cleanly. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Quick check in spotless room, modern plenty of plug ins very convenient for Arena..
- 2/5
Limited guest service requested an extra pillow and blanket never delivered. Lots of noise from guest late into the evening.
- 5/5
Hot tub, free parking, great location and reasonably priced. Easy Peasy!
- 3/5
First the bad, when I booked I paid a little extra for a riverside view, I definitely didn’t have a view of the river I had a view of construction and a children area, might as well have just had a window facing the parking lot, also there was barely any hot water I had to take two barely lukewarm showers even tho I had it cranked as high on hot as it would go, I was shivering the whole time. However the bed was super comfortable, the room was very clean and the hot tub was amazing. I also really liked the location I was able to walk to my event and some fun shops and got a good river view on my walk.
- 5/5
We always enjoy staying at Ruby River, front staff are always nice, rooms are clean

Amenities
- 5/5
Freshly renovated, friendly staff, the restaurant bar (Osprey) was excellent. Location is great for heart of the city entertainment, walking distance to the performing arts center.
- 3/5
Thank you.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, staff was friendly and kind!
- 4/5
Clean room, no hot water at first. But they switched rooms for us which was nice
- 3/5
Great staff, was near a stairwell and it was noisy, the heater ac was loud and wouldn’t shut off, biggest complaint was extra fees, I’ve stayed there a lot, this might affect my next reservations
- 5/5
It was the BEST Hotel I have stayed at in many years. Definitely will be my hotel of choice when traveling to Spokane. The service and the cleanliness were amazing. The restaurant on site has very delicious food and drinks. The prices for the food were very reasonable. Parking was very accessible too.
- 4/5
Not too bad of a place to stay. Rooms are clean. Service is all right. They don't clean the rooms when you ask him to and their hot tub was down. The only reason I stayed there
- 4/5
Love the text messaging option to request things like early check in or if you have a question. They are very accommodating and willing to assist. The bed are comfortable and the rooms are clean although some show wear and tear. Will book again!
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff as with all previous stays. A reliable choice for my stays in Spokane.
- 5/5
Such a hidden gem tucked away north of the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. From check in to check out, from the dining experience to the jacuzzi, our stay was wonderful. I look forward to coming back again!
- 5/5
Definitely would recommend one to stay at Ruby River.
- 4/5
Very clean room for a great price!

Great location, very nice amenities for the price, friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff was great. The shower walls/grout could have been cleaner.

Clean rooms easy check in. Clean grounds

Yes
- 5/5
Best place to stay in Spokane. Clean rooms, nice view of the river.
- 5/5
Great room, great grounds, excellent hot tub,
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff other than the guy in evening was a little abrasive with the kids. There were several relaxing in the hot tub after competing and one employee said they could have an extra 15 mins past "closing" since they all got done late, 5 mins later guy came out and snapped at them to leave. Breakfast for the kids and families was amazing and staff was great asking about scheduling for next day! Rooms a little small, we needed a roll off bed and once set up, there is no moving around the room.
- 5/5
This was a great place for dogs. The small dog park is right by the water and connected to the river trail. Parking for our large truck was very easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in making sure we had the right room for our dogs.
- 3/5
It was ok
- 4/5
Staff very nice and helpful . Rooms clean just very hard beds .
- 3/5
I arrived late in the evening, and was delayed getting to my room as the reservation was in my spouse’s name. I was charged an “amenites” fee even though the booking stated all fees included. My room had no hot water, so had to move the next morning… management knew that wing had an issue and didn’t volunteer to move me, I had to ask. Lastly, their staff hands out wrong WiFi codes at front desk. Disappointing stay, which is a shame as I’ve been here multiple times before and it’s always been fine.
- 5/5
Everyone was super nice ! Room was very clean ! Riley the bartender was fabulous as usual !
- 5/5
Room was super clean!

- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
As always great location
- 1/5
I stay here and pay for a poolside room because you’re allowed to access the hot tub 24/7. My guest was kicked out of the hot tub at 11pm. If you are changing your policy it needs to be published. I’ve stayed here 5+ times every year the last 5 years because of this policy.
- 5/5
Our room waa clean, staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Rooms very clean
- 5/5
Nice people

- 5/5
We love staying here. It's very dog-friendly, with a great river trail right beside the hotel and a fenced mini dog park. The outdoor hot tub is huge, and many of the hotel rooms have sliding glass doors that open up to the pool area for super easy access. The restaurant on site is actually very good, not like a typical generic hotel restaurant. The staff are very friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. Even though it's downtown, access is easy from the freeway and being near the university campus and river make it scenic and green.
- 5/5
Always my go to choice for a staycation. 5th NYE in a row. Always get a poolside room. Only way to get full experience.
- 5/5
The pool was not open it was winter. Everyone was friendly, the food was great. The room was clean. We used the hot tub it was great.
- 5/5
Comfy well-appointed rooms with river views and a lovely dining experience! Plus, super close to the convention center where we went to a show.
- 4/5
Was a great place and next time we will bring our pet. ❤️
- 4/5

Staff was very nice.
- 5/5
very friendly and helpful. We’ve enjoyed breakfast and dinner several times at The Osprey (on-site) always delicious! This is our go-to place when we’re in Spokane! 😊
- 4/5
Very impressive hotel at a reasonable price
- 2/5
Room not up to standard clean
- 5/5
Pool is under construction though
- 5/5
Amy at the front desk was AMAZINGLY helpful every time we walked past. The restaurant there is great - why go anywhere else? Location is great right on the river. We had a wonderful room. Can't say enough good things about it.
- 5/5
Ruby river was fantastic, very nice and clean great welcoming staff, pet-friendly. My new go -to hotel!
- 5/5
Free upgrade to Riverside room. It was clean and neat and nice and quiet. This is a great hotel.
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
Good location on the River.
- 5/5
Loved having outside access straight from the first floor room. Enjoyed the hot tub multiple times and the rainfall type shower head was pretty neat. Loved the small detail of the fridge and microwave being hidden inside a cabinet.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Awesome.
- 4/5
Very clean, safe, friendly staff and central to everything we needed. We will stay again!
- 5/5
Clean room.. comfy beds.. and dinner at the restaurant was yummy..!
- 4/5
Yes, room was clean and staff very helpful.
- 5/5
This place has very large and comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
Great room fun hot tub, get reservations for the restaurant beforehand.
- 2/5
As someone who spent 33 years in the industry, staff is way overloaded and some under trained. The main bartender was like a bartender out of a best bartender food network show. But they also had him waiting tables. Total waste of extreme talent. The poor manager did everything he could but he is not being set up to succeed. This place has some potential. Location is good but man they have a lot of work to make this place a return trip.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel, great location!
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was great.
- 4/5
Clean and modern room
- 5/5
The rooms were large and comfy with all amenities. It was clean but didn’t smell like harsh chemical cleaners. Restaurant was good. Quick walk to Spokane Arena.
- 5/5
Clean spacious room, comfortable beds, nice river walk.
- 5/5
Great value! Clean and modern and it’s right on the river.
- 5/5
Great--love the hotel, restaurant-bar, the location and staff. Only complaint--and it's important--is that there was no coffee station for (all) guests. They make you go to the restaurant. Not good. Adds an unnecessary level of annoyance. If you're not a breakfast person or you don't have time to sit down for breakfast, you have to go out and hunt for coffee.
- 5/5
This property is beautiful. My room was amazing, staff so friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar area devine.
- 5/5
Nice staff at check in and in the restaurant
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Get a Riverside room.
- 5/5
Every staff member we encountered, at the front desk, in the restaurant, in the hallway; everyone was so friendly, helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay happy.
- 5/5
From in to out, everything was top notch. Can’t wait to go again!
- 4/5
Great staff, location, clean rooms. Beds seem outdated and very uncomfortable.
- 5/5
The room was very modern and clean. The front desk staff was so wonderful. I’d stay again.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was surprisingly good. I would definitely return next time I am in Spokane.
- 5/5
Great over night stop, Had to leave early to get to airport, a 10 minute drive at that hour. We chose to stay here because they do it right and it works for us.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet accommodations and great restaurant with reasonable prices.
- 4/5
The reason for the 4 star rating is because on our pool view patio there was a pile of dog poop and water bottles filled with cigarette butts right outside our sliding glass door, Yuk! We called the front desk you sent someone to clean it up.
- 5/5
Staff was nice, helpful. Room was very clean. Food at restaurant was excellent.
- 1/5
When we first entered the room, the smell was so strong that we had to keep all the doors open, even though it was very cold. Although the bathroom had been cleaned, there was still hair left behind. We had no choice but to stay in such an unclean place, and when we checked out, they charged us extra for resort fees, saying it was for the towels and water we used. Considering how rundown the hotel was, the fees were far too expensive. The front desk staff were extremely unfriendly. Instead of listening to our complaints, when we mentioned that we booked through Expedia, she complained about Expedia being terrible. I tried to explain that many customers book through Expedia and that it should be respected, but she just shook her head. I believe that some of the positive reviews for this hotel are likely fabricated. The hotel is very dark and unclean. I will not be returning, and I don’t even want to think about it. The staff’s attitude, in particular, was absolutely disgusting.
- 5/5
Great location! Clean, easy parking, friendly staff, and nice restaurant. For a safe and cozy stay, Ruby’s got you covered.
- 5/5

Good location for walking to arena
- 5/5
Did not explore these…
- 5/5
Our room was clean. The hotel is very pet friendly. Great outdoor space for our dog. Nice friendly staff. Good food and drinks!
- 4/5
I just noticed a couple repairs that needed to be done in the room. Looks like they’ve been that way for a long time. That’s the kind of stuff. I notice other people might not.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff were friendly.
- 5/5
I’m not sure about “pet-friendly “, but we had a great time there. Staff is so friendly, services are great, restaurant is awesome!
- 5/5
I loved everything the room the staff all were excellent
- 5/5
Room was perfect. Had an afternoon cocktail on the beautiful outside patio. It was a perfect fall day, everyone was helpful and friendly!
- 5/5
Love this place. Always have great stays!

- 5/5
Very accommodating were very nice had to check out late and they were very helpful
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at Ruby River hotel. The place was clean, the room nice with a view of the river. The staff was friendly and even provided us with a ice scraper for our rental car on a frosty morning.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, delicious food and excellent service!
- 5/5
NA
- 5/5
Easy check-in process and the staff were very efficient & courteous. My only negative experience was from the room being a connecting room with the room next door. I arrived late and exhausted or I would have requested a room change. The walls/door were thin and the residents in the connecting room were quite loud and awake very late. I could hear every word they spoke until after 1 AM. As I arrived after 1130pm and I had to be awake at 5am this was quite unfortunate for me obtaining adequate rest.
- 5/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Very pleasant
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Great reception staff.
- 5/5
Clean, updated room. Walkable to river front park.
- 4/5
We stay here regularly when we visit our son. I’ve always been satisfied and why we return. One disappointing thing is they took away complimentary coffee, teas and creamers in the lobby and in the room is very limited.
- 5/5
I reserved a room with river view and the only view I had was of a tractor and unfinished work on property. I was very disappointed!!!
- 5/5
Will stay again
- 5/5
I love staying here. Always clean and quiet. Nice bar and great food. Friendly staff and so conveniently located and easy parking.
- 5/5
Stayed at Ruby River Hotel 3 times within the last 6 months. Love the cleanliness, nice and convenient location, comfortable rooms, easy access to a relaxing walk by the river. nice and helpful staff. We will be back.
- 5/5
Great location and outdoor amenities, the restaurant on site is phenomenal.
- 4/5
Excellent hotel, but the bed was very hard.
- 5/5
Great location, property in good condition, staff are great.
- 5/5
Great room and food
- 4/5
They never came to clean our room and we ran out of towels
- 5/5
Nice job on the remodel.
- 3/5
4 coffee modules in the room, but only 2 sugar sets.
- 5/5
Two thumbs up!
- 5/5
What a great location! Super easy access (even walkable) to everything downtown. The staff was very lovely and helpful and the hotel is great for those traveling with dogs. Thank you!
- 5/5
The only thing I didn’t like was the front desk was under staffed the night I stayed there
- 4/5
The room was clean and fresh, the staff was friendly, but for the building I was in, the river view was mainly a playground view. The location is a reasonable walk to downtown areas of interest,
- 5/5
We had two rooms the sliding glass doors to the hot tub and pool. The pool and hot tub area was clean and well tapped even though it's after the season of having attendance in a bartender outside. A previous guest had messed with one of the heaters and it wasn't working quite right and they got the hotel maintenance right down to fix it. The restaurant was very amazing we ate several meals there and had late night happy hour. After having a surgery I wasn't able to have alcohol and they had very nice selection of mocktails. A reasonable Choice very close to the park yet having a nice parking lot so we can come in and out with our car. Overall we were very happy with our stay
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times. Great place to stay and staff is always very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Shuttle made mornings easy.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Restaurant is okay. Clean. Plenty of parking if you are in the last building. The family area could have more things for slightly older kids (mines 9)
- 3/5
River view was a view of dug up grass and evidence of construction. No safe to keep valuables and outside the room was noisy and could hear the people walking around upstairs. The shower was very slow draining making unpleasant experience. However everything else was fine
- 5/5
We had a play area outside our room and the dog area past that. Beautiful walking path along the river leads you to Gonzaga university. You can have your dog on the patio and the restaurant had great food.
- 5/5
Very clean and staff was attentive
- 5/5
Quiet - lovely staff - great location.
- 4/5
Great location and easy to navigate. A little noisy due to the age of the building but that is to be expected. Very well kept
- 5/5
Nice riverside view and outdoor dining area.
- 5/5
Very clean, staff was very friendly, beautiful grounds and nice and quiet.
- 5/5
Very clean, convenience & kind
- 5/5
Loved this hotel and walking along the river!
- 5/5
More than we could ask for in a one night stay. The hotel is right on the river walk. After arriving we walked downstream to the upper and lower falls, and back through the river park. In the morning we went upstream through the 3 universities. The room was very nice. The restaurant was good (not great) and very convenient, right on the river. There is a large pool and hot tub that we took advantage of. Staff were great, very friendly and attentive. We'll defintely stay there again.

Disguisting hotel, rude stuff. Stole our item and tried to extort money from us to give it back. Will never be back in this motel again.
- 5/5
Love love love will return
- 3/5
Customer service not what I hoped for. Had to call desk 4 times to connect and please hold voice sounded recorded.
- 3/5
The two chairs in the room were very uncomfortable
- 5/5
Pet friendly. Great food at the restaurant.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Friendly staff , clean rooms , plenty of parking .
- 5/5
Loved this spot
- 5/5
Pool area daily hose down and or once a week pressure wash… not all guest are clean and pick up afterwards.. But all in all we will be back.. oh and have alcoholic beverages at the front desk not everybody always wants to go to the Osprey. Maybe you want to enjoy a beer in your room quietly.
- 3/5
Pet friendly
- 5/5
Stayed pool side, enjoyed the hot tub. Walked to a performance downtown. Great happy hour, must have the burrata caprese!
- 5/5
It’s so peaceful
- 5/5
Very nice property
- 5/5
Everything was spectacular! Best pool and service!
- 5/5
Close to Gonzaga…actually next to Gonzaga…easy to walk to
- 5/5
September after all the summer traffic is gone, the pool and hot tub were quiet at night and the hot tub jets were the best in any place we’ve ever visited. Terrific after driving! *one recommendation, need to have free coffee/teas in lobby area. There was none and we had to wait at restaurant to get to go cups,
- 5/5
The hotel was perfect. We needed a night in Spokane and this location was perfect. The pool and hot tub were icing on the cake. It was a beautiful September evening relaxing in the hot tub. I highly recommend a pool view, first floor room!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Very helpful. Amy and Ashley at the front desk went above and beyond. The restaurant staff were also terrific and we all enjoyed the food!
- 5/5
Great location! Excellent pool area! Fantastic restaurant!
- 4/5
nice location by the river
- 5/5
Great stay. Will be back!
- 5/5
We were able to dine outside and enjoy the surroundings. Food was very good. Area had walkways by a river in a beautiful area of Spokane.
- 4/5
The fitted sheet on the king sized bed would not stay on and by morning we were sleeping on the matress pad
- 5/5
I always enjoy my stay.
- 4/5
The staff at Ruby River Hotel are all very friendly, including the staff at the adjacent restaurant! A very wonderful experience!
- 5/5
Pet friendly
- 5/5
The place was beautiful friendly great dining
- 5/5
Great location and restaurant
- 5/5
Need to have clear instructions on the ac and the coffee maker. Nice if the shower had a hand grip on the inside. But still ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- 5/5
Nice location, wonderful pool and hot tub. Comfortable room.
- 5/5
Where parts of hotel, although renovated, still show signs of age. The staff here makes up for it! I will always use this hotel for summer staycations bc of staff and the awesome pool!
- 5/5
Beautiful views along the river. Convenient to restaurants. Short walk to Convention Center. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. I will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Friendly service
- 4/5
Great staff
- 5/5
The location was very convenient, the pool was amazing, a caged pet area as well as walking trail along the property and the staff was more than friendly and helpful with extra accommodations, we will definitely be returning!
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds and friendly service
- 5/5
We really like this hotel and will definitely stay there again when we are in Spokane. It was very clean and a lovely setting. The restaurant is great too.
- 4/5
The bed is too soft and air conditioner making strange noises Highly recommended for location and good service
- 3/5
I stayed here when it had been Red Lion and enjoyed those stays. At check in, I was told to expect an elevated experience…it was going to be so much better and text them with anything as they handle the text messages directly. We enter room and there is an odd odor. I checked the room and discover the fridge was not cleaned from the last guest. Housekeeping was cleaning across the hall and she came over to remove items and clean. She apologized and said she also noticed the odor and tried to cover it up. Location and parking are great for visiting Gonzaga student. The front desk, restaurant and pool areas are trying to look upscale. We didn’t use. Returning to our room you again notice the odor but get accustom to it over time. Room is large, basic and decor attempts to modernize. Now more cleanliness problems…one bed fitted sheet is inside out with a few small stains and hairs. Also hair in shower which we looked past until the bed. Texted front desk responded hours after and we were asleep. My daughter found a clean spot to sleep. We were only staying one night. Texted in morning and they offered nothing but an apology that it was rare to have cleaning problems and asked if I wanted to talk with the manager. In my opinion, the cleanliness is not there they are covering up old issues with paint and decor. Cleanliness is way more important to me. I will be in Spokane for more visits to my Zag and this spot is more at the very bottom of the list.
- 5/5
This is my all-time favorite place to stay. The staff is amazing, clean rooms and just an all around lovely place.
- 5/5
This is a very nice hotel right on the river. Step out the door and your on a multi use path. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the outdoor space and pool are hard to beat. Perfect for families. There is a restaurant on site if you want an easy and good food option.
- 5/5
The check in staff was extra helpful, the dinner was freshly cooked and tasty, and we went to the nicely landscaped pool area after dinner to swim and then wind down in the hot tub.
- 5/5
Pet friendly to the point where they have a dog park in their back yard! So nice!
- 5/5
Overall a great price for being right on the river
- 5/5
Awesome hotel. Loved the outside patio with pool, hot tub, and sun loungers!! Wish there was more around like this one.
- 5/5
Quick and easy check-in, staff was very kind.
- 5/5
Beautiful views, Great service, The location is very good and the weather was wonderful. Staff was very helpful and friendly
- 4/5
Great location, restaurants. Our view was of an old swimming pool mostly drained with a lot of junk floating in it and ugly chain link blocking view of river. Otherwise- great.
- 5/5
The pool and patio areas are wonderful. We have stayed 4 years in a row the first weekend of September. It's my birthday staycation. Family looks forward to it every year.
- 5/5
The service was awesome and friendly. The room was clean ,the food was great
- 5/5
Solid, reliable hotel now for FIVE years!
- 1/5
Beautiful pool!
- 5/5
Good location , delicious restaurant.
- 5/5
Amazing stay.
- 4/5
Hotel had a beautiful riverfront restaurant and the food was good. The rooms were clean and very spacious. Laundry facility is located in building 6. Snacks and drinks for sale in lobby. Complimentary iced water is dispensed in the lobby. Staff was friendly and attentive.
- 5/5
Great location and price!
- 5/5
River side and gorgeous.
- 3/5
The room was nice, but smelled musty and a little like pet.. The pool area is what we booked this hotel for. The hot tub was not warmer than 85 degrees, and the pool area needed to be blown or swept out. It was not done overnight or in the morning either. Has a lot of potential!
- 4/5
The stay was wonderful, although the entire
- 5/5
Nice pool and dining options. Good value.
- 4/5
Everything was fine
- 5/5
This place was recommended to me if in Spokane and it was excellent recommendation. Will make this a regular stay when traveling thru .
- 5/5
Number one was the staff. I had a room mix up and they fixed it very quickly. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I really liked having the restaurant on site. Dinner was very good. Nice to sit out on the restaurant patio for dinner and a glass of wine. Clean and comfortable rooms. Nice location on the river. I stayed at the beginning of my trip and it was so nice I stayed on my return. I would definitely stay again and recommend.
- 5/5
We enjoy this hotel knowing that we can bring our dog with us. It's also very clean and the beds sleep well. Parking is wonderful They do have a restaurant on the premises and a bar. They have a huge pull and hot tub. We do enjoy staying here
- 5/5
I love the pool area here. In fact, it’s why we came back to this hotel for a summer visit to Spokane. Everything else was perfectly fine as well, but the pool is what stands out for me. Staff were helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Pretty good place stay park on a weekend is a little full
- 5/5
Pleasant place to stay. Mattresses need updated, it perfect, otherwise.
- 5/5
The Ruby River Hotel was fantastic, and a great deal. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 3/5
We didn’t realize we would be in building 6 and the noise at night woke us up
- 4/5
This is a nice quiet hotel with some views of the river and a great pool. The restaurant was nice and we had lunch there. I can't say the staff went the extra mile though. We turned up a little bit early at 1pm, and they couldn't get our two rooms next to each other. We said we would each lunch and then check in. When we checked in, the desk said we had adjoining rooms, which wasn't true. They didn't adjoin with a door, but were next to each other. When we checked in we got two vouchers for drinks at the hotel restaurant, where we had just had lunch an a couple of beers. We never used the drink coupons as we had other plans with friends the rest of the weekend. Would have been nice to give us the coupons before we were technically checked in. The Shower had dispensers for shampoo and conditioner, but not body soap. We didn't figure that out until about 9:30pm. The desk said someone would be able to take care of that in about a half hour, but they never came. We used the bar soap in the shower and then later that day I talked to the day crew at the desk and they sent a maintenance guy to install the body soap dispenser quickly. Don't know why that was impossible in the evening.
- 4/5
W liked the proximity to Gonzaga.
- 5/5
Great place to stay right off the river.
- 4/5
The service is great.
- 4/5
When checking in I was told by the clerk that my reservation had been canceled by Expedia. I have used hotels.com for many years and have never had anything like this happen before. I had already paid for my stay through hotels.com and had to pay it again to be able to stay. Not a great experience, however, I was able to reach someone at hotels.com quickly and he was able to get my refund process started. I still don’t know why my reservation was cancelled, whether the error was by the hotel or Expedia, but our stay ended up working out ok. Other than this mess, my only other complaint is that there were 2 very uncomfortable chairs in our room and no table. This room was of sufficient size to accommodate a comfortable chair with an ottoman and a nice desk chair rather than the awful chairs that were in there.
- 5/5
Ruby River Inn is a great place to go in the summer. Has a wonderful pool and also a children’s pool area separate from the main pool. I love the cabanas and loungers around the pool. The staff and the restaurant staff are amazing and they have great food.
- 5/5
Well maintained and easy access to just about everything
- 5/5
I very nice place to stay . Staff 💯.
- 4/5
Ruby River staff is always friendly & courteous. We had a bit of a miss at their Osprey restaurant as the server was not attentive and let our dinners sit under the heat lamp for at least 10 minutes.
- 5/5
The Osprey patio and the pool deck were astonishing! Very much enjoyed staying at this hotel.
- 1/5
-10 star hotel. Rude staff. Ruined my stay 100%
- 5/5
Although parking was a little challenging, I had a great stay. Clean room, comfortable bed and incredible location on the river.
- 4/5
Our room was great. It had a fridge and microwave.
- 5/5
great place to stay! Clean rooms, very friendly staff and very reasonable prices!
- 5/5
Just a lovely oasis in the middle of the city. River view everywhere. Ospre restaurant just super and outside /inside welcome to our doggy. Front desk smiles and greetings. Rooms clean and new. Staff in hallways always smile and greeting.

The hotel checked me out by mistake after my first night stay. I had 2 sets of people outside my door trying over and over to get in..I eventually I yelled out “obviously I’m sleeping!! After the second time I got up, got dressed and went down to the front desk. They moved me out by mistake and didn’t want to own to it, blamed Expedia, said I only paid for one night. Said they don’t deal with 3rd party sites but then said they got into Expedias portal and fixed the problem.. all the while being extremely rude. I later came back to speak with the manager. The staff member that had been rude earlier told her manager right in front of me that I was moved out by mistake (so the whole story about Expedia was 100% a lie which I knew already) I told the manager what happened and also said the way it was handled was uncalled for and that she was very dismissive and rude with me. The manger then actually called me rude for telling her the staff treated me rude. Are you kidding?? What a complete joke of a hotel.. pay money to get jolted out of bed after 3 hrs of sleep to get treated rudely by staff for a mistake they created. When I said to the manager that a simple apology would have made the situation better she looked right at me and said I already did, is there anything else I can help you with today? Wow! -10 star hotel

I've always enjoyed my stay there. I originally stayed there because I had a dog and the walking is wonderful

We would absolutely stay again. Pool area, proximity to downtown and river, hotel vibe, and guest service were all top notch!

This was the second time staying at the Ruby Ridge. Even though it was a busy weekend, with the Gonzaga students moving in, the service was great. The rooms were quiet and there was enough parking.

Staff was extremely nice. Being next to the River Walk made the area feel safer. Osprey restaurant food was good but I do wish for more dinner options.
