Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, the location is consistently criticized for its proximity to homeless shelters and the associated safety concerns.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Location is not safe due to nearby homeless shelters
- Noise issues, including slamming doors and loud people in the halls
- 3/5
Next day when I called to ask if I could discuss possibly staying a second night, front desk abruptly said they didn't have time for me and to call back in 20 minutes. While I can appreciate that mornings can be busy at a hotel with people possibly checking out, this was not the tone/way to respond to a client. Definitely not feeling any hospitality vibes
- 5/5
Great prices, great staff, comfortable beds, and everything downtown is walkable. I stay here often!
- 5/5
I love the hotel

Staff was nice checking in. Location had lots of homeless all around the hotel. Bathroom was way too small and tight with the door in the way. Previous persons socks were still on the floor.

Overall...excellent value for the area. Good breakfast. Property was fairly modern with rooms in very good condition. King bed was excellent. No pool. No big deal for me. Some homeless not far from hotel....but property was very secure with good fencing.
- 4/5
Good waffles, clean room ok gym
- 5/5
My only problem was with the air conditioning. I thought the room was too cold and tried adjusting the temp at the wall unit and also the thermostat in the room. Nothing worked. When I called the front desk, they said they would call the maintenance man and he could adjust it remotely. They did raise the temp by a couple of degrees which was more comfortable for me. But I don't know why guests can't just adjust it by themselves.

Good proximity to the river and downtown park. Located in a bit of a sketchy area of town
- 5/5
Location was great! Front desk clerk was extremely friendly, inviting, and informative during our check in. Room was of good value for the price, comfortable. Check out time at 12pm was perfect! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wish there was a tub, but no a deal breaker.

Close proximity to downtown activities and staff friendliness. It was very clean and comfortable bed. It’s in a rough section of town so I don’t feel safe outside at night especially walking to restaurants.
- 5/5
Room and bathroom clean For the price we paid no complaints
- 1.5/5
The breakfast was very good. We found a wrapper in the bed. There is no way that they were clean sheets
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and the staff were awesome. The surrounding are much left to be desired, but the hotel complex was safe and very nice.
- 4/5
The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was excellent!
- 3.5/5
LaQuinta was very clean and the staff was spectacular. Bed was very comfortable. Location is mortifying. I'm far from being a snob, but the homeless outside the fence, inside the parking lot and smoking Crack outside the gates is unbelievable!! I woke up frequently to check my truck.

Great Hotel but sketchy area
- 4/5
The only cons were that parking was tricky with people double parking and lot full at night. also the large group of unhoused encampment across the street at 7-11 kept me up until 2 AM with loud music and yelling. Followed by a group rock fight in the main road at 4 am when I had to take my dogs out. That was pretty wild and stressful. Hotel staff have security and monitor the property, which is probably why I never saw any one messing around on hotel property or in the parking lot. On site, it is not an issue for people, cars or personal property. My 2nd night, I was so tired, I slept through anything going on outside.
- 5/5
This had been my third time with these folks, i drug my family over for an event, and we all were overjoyed with the cleanliness and tge great beds plus easy access to the city...great time!!!

Clean, quiet rooms
- 1/5
The manager was not helpful and the doors are locked with nobody at the front desk.
- 4/5
The room was clean. AC rattled. Maintenance worked on it and then was better. Staff was good. Breakfast was about an 8. Parking was good for us.
- 4/5
The breakfast was great, even though there were several homeless people around the property. We felt completely safe.
- 5/5
clean and friendly
- 4/5
The hotel was great and we had absolutely no issues with it.. The area around the hotel was dismal - many drugged out homeless people. It is very sad to witness.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms and pretty nice breakfast with hot food like egg/sausages/waffles. Convenient location too.
- 5/5
Management and staff are fantastic!

* I went to make up the sofa bed, and there were no linens or extra blankets. Before I could call down, * My daughter stepped in a BIG wet spot on the side of the bed. * I called down to let reception know, and I was told there were no more Junior Suites (fair) available. I asked for another room, and I had to go down to reception and get the keys for a standard queen room. * The shampoo in the bathroom was not full/did not work in the new room * The makeup remover wipe looked like it had been used * When we went to bed, there was a hair on the pillow, and the sheets had what looked like blood stains (washed but still gross) on them. * And I was never compensated for the difference between the two rooms. I booked the Junior Suite specifically as a treat. If I had wanted a standard queen, I would have booked a standard queen. * No attempt was made to reconcile the differences in the price, our inconvenience, and the general unfriendliness of the reception staff. I told my daughter that we would never stay at this hotel again.

Had to make a quick reservation because previous one fell thru. We had been traveling all day with a cat, U Haul truck and trailer. Made reservation thru Expedia. They allowed cat and parking was more than big enough for truck and trailer. Arrived, check in, inquired about parking and the lady at the desk said, yeah it was fine in the lot. While unloading for our stay, the manager informs us that the truck and trailer had to be parked on the street. Their lot is completely fenced with gates. Area is swarming with homeless people and drug dealers. It was obvious when we arrived. The manager was pushing that we had to use street parking. That was not an option as we had personal and household items in the truck and a truck on the trailer. We made arrangements at a different property, tried to get a refund and left. On top of it all, the manager that was rude left before we did. I would not recommend this location due to the manager being rude and the area it is in is sketchy at best. People were smoking Marijuana the parking lot inside the fenced in area.
- 4/5
Room service was terrible
- 2/5
Bare bones, but clean. 2 lamps in the room did not work and the front desk was not able to repair. Auto thermostats went off and on all night and was noisy. No elevator to 1st floor rooms (9 stairs).Good points: Comfy beds, whole bathroom (no tub).
- 3/5
The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very well served. The location was close to the waterfront Park. We biked to the centennial trail directly from the hotel which was convenient. However the wifi was barely working and there was no freezer.
- 3/5
staff was great
- 2/5
Room was clean, breakfast seemed like it was closed up early. LOTS of homeless activity across the street. Outside garbage were overflowing onto the ground.
- 5/5
My favorite hotel in Spokane. Awesome staff, clean rooms, and well taken care of.
- 4/5
So, it was a pleasant surprise to hear from Jonathan, the manager, with an offer to move to another room. Not only that he gave us a bag of goodies as a peace offering, which was such a nice touch! Our recommendation would be that if you choose to stay in this hotel that you choose a room opposite to 7-11 – very busy area no matter what time of day!
- 5/5
The neighborhood was rough but the hotel and property was well kept and clean
- 5/5
Parking is fenced and secure
- 5/5
The breakfast is Ok! Parking is very safe
- 4/5
Hotel was great and staff were very helpful. Hotel is in a rather sketchy part of city.
- 5/5
Breakfast was hot and a great variety of items
- 3/5
When I went down the stairs to the car on the La Quinta property there was human feces. The hotel was fine, but I would not stay there again because of the neighborhood. I was concerned that my care might have been broken into with all this goings on.
- 5/5
Everything was awesome
- 4/5
The hotel offers room cleaning for every three days of stay. On our fourth day, I removed the privacy sign so the cleaning crew can clean. However we found the room uncleaned, bed un-made and trash still there. The only thing done is the new towel. It was disappointing. Other than this, overall stay was meeting expectation and staff were super friendly.
- 5/5
Justin was amazing, we had to stay an extra night and he helped us out with no issues!
- 5/5
breakfast was good. parking was good. I wish the rooms had 2 of the suitcase holders instead of one.
- 4/5
It was a very nice hotel overall. The surrounding is a little sketchy with a lot of people who were experiencing homelessness near by. The 7/11 across the street was a little scary to go to as a young female at night is the only thing, but besides that the hotel was great
- 4/5
Apart from some maintenance issues (the faucet on the sink was wobbly and needed to be tightened down, ditto the handles on the shower door), this was a great stay. I'll definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back to town.
- 4/5
Hotel is great. Unfortunately it's not in the best area. It's not the fault of the property. But that hindered my experience. I was warmed not to be out to much or at night.
- 5/5
Staff was courteous and accommodating. Truly an enjoyable experience. I know where I'm staying next time I'm in town.
- 5/5
This was my second stay and when I’m in Spokane again, I will stay there.
- 2/5
I failed to read reviews for this one, major lesson learned. Parking was done with a hope and a prayer, breakfast was better just not served. Fasting is the more appropiate breakfast to be had while staying here, but the biggest lesson is just not stay here anymore. I didn't learn this until after paying in full for my stay, but the area is called "Zombie Alley" and for good reason.
- 1/5
Bad location surrounded by iron fence due to the high number of homeless everywhere. Charged me for my documented service animal as front desk had no understanding of the law. My service dog is for a true medical need yet I forced to sign for it & pay. we did not feel safe outside the hotel to even walk around, should of drove 5 more minutes east for a nicer area. This hotel is just not in a good safe location
- 1/5
When we arrived there was 50+ homeless people hanging out in the the lot.
- 5/5
The place was clean and comfortable. The staff was great and helpful. I had a nice stay, definitely recommended. The only issue was that outside the hotel, some homeless people appeared to be under the influence. But that was not the hotel's fault.

We stayed in the jr suite on the 4th floor The room was terrible the sink was clogged in the bathroom. the day we checked into the room the room was dirty someone old chew, seeds and the remote didn’t work, next to the the bed the floor was wet and smelled like mold. Never staying in that hotel again
- 5/5
This was a great stay!
- 3/5
Lots of homeless around the property. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking.
- 4/5
The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was good, staff was nice. Someone should really pick up all the dog poop on the lawn around the property. It was difficult to not step in it when taking my dog out. I pick up my dogs messes.
- 5/5
Yes all great thank you
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Great staff that are very helpful and quick. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice parking and overall a great place to stay for work or any kind of travel
- 4/5
Hotel was very clean
- 4/5
Breakfast menu was great, but couldnt turn on the heat. So it was a cooler then we would have preferred. We did not ask the front desk for assistance.
- 5/5
Nice breakfast. Helpful staff. Clean and nice property
- 4/5
Very shady neighborhood… good thing I was there for work and I didn’t stay local… price was good. The neighborhood very bad.
- 1/5
When we made the reservation, they didn’t tell us that it was under construction. The whole first floor was shut down. They had to put the breakfast in a different area where there was dust and chaos not happy.
- 3/5
clean room, breakfast was good.
- 4/5
Had a great breakfast. The hotel was beautiful inside and out the problem was the parking lot and the surrounding area with the homeless people. The parking lot was at least fenced off, which was helpful but across the street was a 7-Eleven with 10 to 15 homeless people out there all the time we chose to stay at the other La Quinta on our way back

My favorite hotel in downtown Spokane! Great deal, great staff, and a well maintained facility.
- 5/5
Conveniently located.
- 4/5
I felt safe in the hotel, but the neighborhood is sketchy. Mildy entertaining watching all the crackheads at 7-11. They hang out there all day and night.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly.
- 5/5
Very kind manager and amazing staff! Beds where comfy, rooms where clean, amd the breakfast was delicious. 10/10
- 4/5
No pool. The staff was great! Breakfast was not the best. Overall not bad though
- 5/5

- 5/5
Clean, nice rooms, nice breakfast, super nice staff, and accommodating. No complaints and would stay again.

- 2/5
Everything about the hotel is terrific--clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast. The big problem is noise. I didn't sleep at all because there's a loud speaker across the street telling loiters to move off. This goes on all night.
- 5/5
Everything was on par
- 4/5
Very pleasant stay overall with the exception of no hairdryer. Breakfast available but did not participate, clean rooms, secure parking. Definitely would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean large lobby that serves breakfast and clean room
- 4/5
.
- 1/5
The room was dirty, the thermostat did not work, the staff tried to be helpful though. The parking lot doesn’t have enough space for everyone when they’re at capacity. I would definitely recommend other options for the price they’re charging.
- 3/5
We arrived late at night and there was no parking spots. This hotel is surrounded by homeless people. Thank goodness the staff let us park by the curb. They do have cameras in the parking lot- but not outside the parking lot. The bedroom was clean, but the bathroom had hair on the floor and mirrors and shower looked sprayed but not wiped down. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
It was a very friendly hospital
- 3/5
Hotel is nice but not in the best area. close to the interstate for easy access when just passing through
- 5/5
We're pleasantly surprised with our 2 star accommodations. From start to finish the staff was amazing. The room was very clean and pleasant. Our plans had changed and staff did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible by providing nearby alternatives. We would absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
The room was clean and well stocked. Their breakfast was awesome.
- 4/5
Great place, decent parking. It’s gated for a reason so take that into account. But they do a good job of keeping the rif raf out. It’s not a hotel u can walk around after night there is a huge homeless problem and drug problem in the area around hotel.
- 4/5
Good, helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Nice shower and bathroom.
- 5/5
Great clean place
- 5/5
Great staff! They were very accommodating with pets.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and comfortable for a one night stay. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful during check in.
- 5/5
Best deal, homelike feel, nice lobby, close to everything. The manager told me all about his karate prowess, super cool guy with a super cool kata!
- 5/5
It was an amazing stay. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel of this price range, great work. Front desk workers are all easy to talk to and down to earth. Love the beds. Also cool getting free HBO.
- 5/5
Great beds, great lobby, great staff, and the manager even chatted with me about football. I ordered a bag of chips from the Bright Side Market and he hiked them to me like a football, which made my kids laugh so that was an added plus. I would stay there anytime, a friendly staff is important!
- 5/5
I fell getting out of my car being a klutz and landed hard on the pavement. The manager came rushing out and helped me get up, I felt like such a goof. He helped carry me to the lobby where he sat me down and poured me coffee and a cup of noodles while we waited for the ambulance to pick me up to have my leg checked out. What a kind soul that man is to help me in a hectic moment like that. I would definitely stay here again. Great service, great breakfast, and very comfortable beds, I know because I recovered on one for nearly a week. Pick this hotel for sure!!

You need to complain to the local police and mayor that the homeless people hanging around the Hotel area need to be relocated to a shelter as it is effecting the businesses .get together with corporate 7eleven and complain to the city to do something. This causes me on my next Spokane visit to not go to your hotel Also breakfast should not close so early(9am),should stay open until at least 930am.

I have been to tons of 7-11 stores in many cities, but this one across the street from the hotel is by far the worst one. There were about 8 chronics hanging out in front of the door and couple by the gas pumps, asking for money and smoking. Too bad.
- 3/5
The place smelled like stall cigarettes. The staff were so nice. They made up for it.
- 5/5
Felt very safe inside but not outside due to homeless situation and crime in area

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. No issues, no concerns

Fairly typical of the class of hotel. The walls are pretty thin so we could hear the next-door neighbors television all night. The heating unit was also very loud but more of a white noise so it helped cover the TV noise. Breakfast was typical although the first morning we were there, the fruit and yogurt were not out when we went in there to get breakfast. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The only other super annoying thing was that the alarm clock was turned on and woke me up much sooner than I was hoping to wake up, especially after the noise from the next-door neighbor all night.
- 5/5
Justin is a phenomenal manager and one of the reasons I come there. The entire staff is wonderful.
- 5/5
I needed specific accommodations as we had an injured service dog who we didn't want in an elevator. They did an excellent job accommodating us. Thank you very much

Homeless camps around the hotel perimeter made it unsafe stay with kids especially.

The room is clean and it comes with free breakfast and free parking.
- 4/5
There is not much lighting in the room for students to study.

very nicely got me a different room when the first one smelled like wet dog. fixed my tv twice when needed to be reset..went very nicely.

Everything was good except the blinds the room was always light it never got dark in there it made it hard to sleep.
- 5/5
Very nice, clean, good breakfast.

Great pet-friendly hotel near downtown. It's pretty close to several services for the houseless. By no means a reason not to say, but definitely worth noting as there is a lot of foot traffic near the hotel as a result
- 5/5
Easy to get to. I thought breakfast had a great selection especially for being included with reservation. Check-in/Out was smooth and the front desk staff was great. Close to Brewery (around the corner)

It was a really good stay .

I went for work thing to Spokane and had an excellent experience here everyone was supper nice, the room was clean and I loved the breakfast I didn’t even know they had a snack area until I got there and they had just what I needed! Thank you to all the staff
- 5/5
Great for the price
- 1/5
Homeless people outside all night making noise, My child and I even witness someone taking a dump out side of the fenced area. Pay extra $30 and go to a better part of town. Also our room faced the street and there was no privacy curtain.
- 5/5
the whole facility is excellent, room very clean, breakfast was very good.
- 4/5
Breakfast was good. Parking was safe.

room was clean and staf very friendly

Lots of homeless around Gas stat
- 4/5
The Hotel is extremely clean and nice, but the area around the Hotel is not very safe feeling. There was even police activity on the property while we were there. However, they do everything they can to keep the Customer safe.
- 3/5
Unsafe neighborhoods. Homeless everywhere limited parking
- 4/5
Very nice, clean and a pleasant place to stay. Good breakfast too.
- 5/5
Clean room, and the young girl that checked me in on my arrival was so sweet! Everytime I book a hotel I always try to book with a Laquinta! I’ve never had issues
- 1/5
There were knocks on our door throughout the night and morning waking us up and scaring our dog. Hotel manager denied refund stating we didnt mention it at the time. It’s 2am what were we suppose to do? After the first knock I just wanted to sleep so I went back to bed and it happened again hours later. He’s a scam artist and will keep your money no matter what happens during your stay.
- 5/5
It's always a great stay experience at this hotel. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the staff is ALWAYS professional and friendly, breakfast is always amazing, and I feel safe at all times, even in the parking lot. I love the customer service and hospitality I receive every time!
- 4/5
Had a nice view of Spokane, on the fourth floor. We were in an ADA room and it was very accommodating, with everything we needed. The breakfast this next morning was FANTASTIC ...... you couldn't ask for anything else !!
- 4/5
rooms were nice and the beds comfy! But i think my favorite thing was there was coffee available down in the lobby throughout the day and evening and the availability to purchase snacks and drinks without having to leave the hotel.
- 4/5
We loved staying here! Our checkin’ was great! All of our questions were answered! We were able to get a tray and take our breakfast back to our room. There were two places to eat on a table surface which was great! Their coffee was good. I didn’t really like their rain shower as it didn’t have a lot of pressure. Checking out was a breeze! They were so accommodating to our dog! I also appreciated the front door being locked as it felt safe with us on the first floor! I would stay here again! Great price!
- 5/5
Room was spotless and all the staff were exceptionally nice and very attentive.

Nice weekend

My stay was in connection with having a surgical procedure. The hotel was located close to the surgery center and I used medical transportation. I was concerned about where to go for meals but I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel's "mini commissary" had a variety of frozen entrees, beverages, deserts, etc. Absolutely what I had hoped to find. Every member of the hotel's staff, with whom I had any contact, was friendly, polite and efficient. LaQuinta in Spokane is going to be my go-to place in the future.
- 4/5
Clean room not best area parking was good
- 5/5
We enjoyed a overnight in this downtown site with its remarkably quiet accommodations.
- 3/5
Overall the room seemed clean except the shower didn't look clean. The service was good, very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was not great. Homeless and suspicious looking people lingering all over outside making it a bit uncomfortable. Four minuetes from the hospital which was perfect.

Great place. Love that it’s right by the highway and Downtown bars are close enough to walk.
- 2/5
The room was so filthy. To start off, the floors inside the room were as if not vacuumed, hairs everywhere, even on the bed sheets. Under the air conditioner were crumbs, around the desk were crumbs. The surfaces were dusty. The bathroom floor was discusting and dirty, hairs everywhere. Corners had pieces of I don’t even want to know what. Pillows were stained yellow. Overall, discussing. We stayed at this property before but this time it was absolutely discusting.

We ended up having to stay a night out of city and I wanted to stay in a reasonable hotel. Staffs were great and tried being as helpful as possible. Unfortunately our room smelled terribly and made the short stay uncomfortable.
- 5/5
It was a convenient location and easy to find. Sound barrier seems good, i didn't hear my neighbors. The room was a little dark. Only 3 lamps and a hallway light. Breakfast was good. There is waffle, toast, eggs and susages with a good selections of
- 4/5
The room was clean, however there was some confusion regarding which room I was supposed to be in. Parking very convenient.
- 5/5
We were in town for a memorial with my parents. The rooms were very comfortable. I felt very safe and we were right downtown. It would be a perfect place if somebody needed to stay if they had somebody in the hospital because it’s a very short distance away from the hospital.

Friendly staff. Clean property
- 5/5
Staff was very and friendly while checking in.
- 5/5
Stayed overnight night for a business trip. Room was clean and friendly staff. Free breakfast was a good before I hit the road.
- 1/5
Extremely dirty bed. Stayed 2 minutes and then left.

Hotel was beautiful, clean, super friendly staff, super pet friendly. We had a great stay for the dog show.
- 3/5
Seemed fine.

Quiet room
- 5/5
Rooms were great. Staff were so kind!
- 3/5
Dirty, unsafe area,
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Easy road access and easy walking distance from the City center.
- 5/5
Good service
- 4/5
Very clean. Cheapest gas in the city was nearby. The only unfortunate issue was that my room had been occupied by a smoker. Ugh...
- 3/5
Nice bed
- 3/5
My room was ok, the mattress was a bit firm for my liking. I would recommend descaling the shower head and adding some texture in the bottom of the shower. It was very slick when we.
- 5/5
We were on our way to Iowa to see my dying father and our brand new car broke down in spokane so we had to get a hotel for 2 days. And Amy at the front desk was absolutely amazing. Im battling stage 3 breast cancer and ahe waa so sweet and helpful. Thank you for making an awful situation a bit better.
- 5/5
Very comfortable room, sweet staff, quiet room, lovely breakfast. Convenient location but not an area I would feel safe to walk around in.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean hotel.
- 4/5
The area around the hotel was a little sketcky, but once in the hotel we felt safe.
- 4/5
It was fine
- 3/5
The room was fine. I needed to do laundry but the guest laundry washing machine was not working so I was unable to do that. The internet was very slow. And my bedspread was dirty so I think they should have changed that out and washed it.
- 5/5
Super welcoming and had a yummy breakfast. I was travelling alone with 2 kids and felt very safe.
- 4/5
Good quality price ratio. Very nice breakfast with hot items. Hot water and coffee 24 hours in lobby. Room was clean and quiet. Mattress was too soft, causing sagging when laying on it. Bathroom is quite tight, and has no hooks to hang clothes. No charging station on desk, desk lamp looks weird, taking much space and is not practical. Fridge was leaking water. Surrounding areas look not quite safe, many homeless ppl around property, especially in the gas station across the street. But feels ok if inside the hotel building.
- 5/5
Everything was clean new and the breakfast was wonderful.
- 1/5
Area not safe. Hotel guests not safe.
- 5/5
Requested a room with accessibility access and was not disappointed with the room.
- 5/5
Very kind staff
- 5/5
Too bad it’s a pretty bad location next to a shelter, there was a lot of drug use and generally frightening behavior. Would not walk this area after dark at all.
- 5/5
We were staying here overnight and it was clean, comfortable and convenient. It was located close by to places to eat.
- 5/5
Great location. Clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Will stay there anytime in Spokane.
- 5/5
It was good. Nice and clean.
- 5/5
Staff was pleasant and efficient. Room was clean, and it was a nice quiet night.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Bathroom was tiny and there was not a lot of room to move around.
- 5/5
This is an excellently designed property on all counts. It's attractive and the room and its furnishings are modern. It is located a couple of blocks from I-90 which makes it convenient. It has abundant parking. The breakfast was better than average. The hotel's location isn't in the best part of downtown. The hotel accommodates this with fenced parking and has secure entry, by room card at the front entry.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Brand new great rooms
- 4/5
Staff was pretty good and friendly. Did not lake that there were so many homeless around that area
- 1/5
We did not stay as there were numerous issues surrounding the property, like drug abuse happening in front of us, homeless people passed out right by the hotel. It was a very unsafe place. I am moving across the country and had all of my belongings in my vehicle and did not feel like it was safe to park there With everything in my car.
- 5/5
I made a reservation at the La Quinta two days in advance when I had a change in our road trip and we decided to make a late night stop in Spokane before continuing on to Montana. We arrived at 11 PM and the room was ready and clean, smelled good with the AC running even tho it was very hot the last few days. I was grateful for the free parking (some hotels in Spokane charge now!) and the staff was sooo nice when we checked in with our exhausted young child. The free breakfast in the AM was yummy, the usual scrambled eggs, pork sausages, make your own waffles, a few cereal options + milk, juice and coffee. Something for everything! This La Quinta is right off I-90 and despite being 5 mins off the freeway, our room was pretty quiet w/ limited freeway and downtown city noises (and the police were DEFINITELY getting around that night). Check out was at a very generous noon! We would stay here again.
- 4/5
It needed to be swept / vacuumed. Floor was dirty.
- 4/5
The hotel staff was very friendly! There was not enough parking so we had to park on a street outside the gate, but the gate would not open for us to get back in, so we had to walk around the building.
- 3/5
The hotel was okay. Many homeless and sketchy people around so we felt concerned about the safety of our car. Didn't feel safe in the neighbourhood. Even main lobby entrance doors were locked for sfety and we needed a room key card to enter.
- 5/5
For an economical hotel next to the highway downtown, this place was great. The staff were beyond exceptional in welcoming and hospitality. Rooms were ok for the price and clean. Had no issues with noise, parking, nor eere the gas stations crowded with junkies like other comments have suggested. I would gladly stay again.
- 4/5
I wouldn't call the location "walkable" to downtown only because there are some sketchy characters walking around but if you drive to see the river park that is pretty close.
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Got nice view of the city from 3rd floor. Loved it was just a hop from Freeway I-90.
- 5/5
Great affordable location
- 5/5
Staff was helpful, place was clean, just a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and nice. Bed was clean, hotel is right in the midst of downtown. Lots of transients. No failt of the hotel. Breakfast was a great addition, staff was very professional, friendly and upbeat. They actually held conversations and answered any questions I had.
- 5/5
Safe, modern hotel which was very comfortable to stay in. Thanks 👍
- 4/5
Staff was friendly. Room was nice, but the pillows were lumpy. The area around the hotel is a little rough.
- 3/5
Hotel surrounded with homeless people and frequent police interventions. You can’t go for a walk by yourself or with your family, unsafe! Hotel is good.
- 3/5
The staff were wonderful, but the hotel was quite dirty. Additionally, animals are allowed, so our room smelled like musty dog. The parking was gated, which was appreciated, but there was a lot of loitering in the parking lot still. The breakfast was pretty basic, but was well stocked. Not a bad option for Spokane, but certainly not on-par with other La Quintas I have stayed at.
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming and very professional. Easy to register and get situated. Breakfast was well done for both young and old.
- 3/5
The area didn’t seem the safest. The hotel was pretty clean. Thought it was odd that the beds were not done. There was a sign that the sheets were not changed daily but the beds could have been done. One of the beds was very loud. Sounded like the plastic was left on the bed. Probably would not stay there if I return to Spokane.
- 5/5
Clean. Welcome. Quiet

Drove 10 hours to get to this hotel and was shocked with the amount of homeless surrounding the area. Doesn’t seem same for kids. Our tv wasn’t working. Required a 4 digit pin to watch a show. This was extremely disappointing for us. I texted the hotel number that were asking me how things were. They didn’t respond. Then when they did respond it just said it shouldn’t require code. So I called the front desk and she said she would call be right back. She did not call me Back. Shower gets clogged while showering and bathroom sink also gets clogged. Saturday evening I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk. She was the only one who helped me. She came up to the room to try and troubleshoot. Unfortunately she did not figure it out, but she was wonderful. My daughter and I went to the lobby to play games since we didn’t have a working tv. There’s no lobby games.. so we colored. The front desk lady took out number down for the manager to reach out to and I didn’t hear anything from him. Doesn’t seem like them hotel staff cares. Lots of homeless around. I did have to empty my car because I truly believed my items where not safe. I won’t stay here or recommend it to anyone.
- 4/5
Good hotel, nice and clean, delicious breakfast. Just the location, saw quite a few homeless around.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean staff was friendly breakfast was great. We arrived late to check-in and there were some homeless people sleeping on the street behind the hotel. There was also some sketchy people walking on the sidewalk passing the front of the hotel. The 7-11 next door has a flashing blue light display the says the parking lot is being monitored by video. The front doors do lock overnight and through the morning and the back of the parking lot does have a locking gate so the hotel and parking lot are as safe as they can make it. And in the morning it’s probably safer to walk around but probably not so much at night.
- 5/5
Bed was great, room was very quiet.
- 4/5
Parking is an issue if you arrive later in the evening otherwise it’s a nice place to stay, good breakfast!
- 5/5
Amazing service
- 4/5
Bathroom, floors & elevator we’re filthy
- 5/5
My sister and I visit my brother every summer and stay here. Great location/reasonable prices/beautiful free breakfast. Best of all. Very nice staff.👍
- 4/5
Nice person at check in and clean room. Parking was challenging and the area was a little sketchy
- 3/5
Very lacking in the parking, and the area is extremely sketchy. It seems to be in the middle of the unhoused population downtown. Also side note* the alarm clock in the room was set for 5:24 am and it was turned on. Was not overly impressed about that.
- 5/5
Mercedes was very helpful and is a kind person!
- 5/5
Very clean room, my AC wasn’t working when I got there and it was fixed quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice lobby and dining area. The room was spacious with great amenities and quiet
- 5/5
Breakfasts were great! Facility was clean. Neighborhood was rough.
- 4/5
Great
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were many vagrants in the neighborhood, so walking around the neighborhood seemed unsafe, but we had no problems. One night, some people were partying loudly in the parkinglot after 2am below our window. The hotel must have sent someone to talk to them after we called the front desk because it quieted down after about 10-15 min.
- 4/5
Overall experience was good
- 4/5
No pool. Tv did not work in exercise room, decaf coffee was cold every day
- 4/5
Always nice staff stayed multiple times
- 5/5
Goid breakfast. Excellent restaurants nearby. A lot of homeless people in the surrounding areas.
- 3/5
Nice staff, but they're understaffed. A little smelly in the elevator and my room hall (funky smell). Homeless tend to hang out in the lobby sometimes. Not a lot of space for parking; Fills up fast. Room itself could have been a little more detailed (dusty). Kind of weird, but you have to have a key card in a slot in the room to have the lights on.
- 3/5
The homeless population was excessive. The freeway was very close and the C road to exit was very busy. Hotel staff had to monitor the front door to make sure the homeless people weren't trying to get in.
- 4/5
This hotel is really good for the price under $100 we paid. The staff was nice to check us in quickly. The inside, the hallway and the room were clean and seemed renovated. I expected stains or slight smell but nothing. The elevator however needs work - it doesn’t feel safe. Speaking about safe, this hotel is in the middle of downtown, and I could see homeless people left and right. There was one individual walking two big dogs without a leash. I suppose that’s why they have fences. Overall it’s quiet and if you’re stopping by for a short visit to Spokane for small budget, this hotel is a great option.
- 4/5
Clean and modern hotel.
- 1/5
Fridge and microwave didn’t work. Food spoiled.
- 2/5
We stayed 4 nights and mid way through just after breakfast we asked the front desk for a room refresh. They said someone will be by soon to refresh the room, so we left for the day. When we got back hours later, the room had not been touched. I called the front desk to ask why. They said they were not sure what happened but there send someone soon. When we went to head out to dinner, the lady at the front desk asked if we could wait till tomorrow, that we waited too late to ask for housekeeping and that they had left for the day. This really bothered me. Trying to shift the responsibility and blaming us (the guests) for the being the reason they couldn’t refresh our room. I calmly said, no. We requested this service this morning. When we got back to our room that night, it had been refreshed very basically, and my sweater had been thrown on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again. Which is unfortunate because the location is convenient.
- 2/5
The room clearly had not been cleaned from the previous people, there were items still there left behind by them. There was hair all over the bathroom floor and shower, it was not a pleasent stay. My room was right next to the back entry and i was kept up all night by people coming in and out. There were no other rooms or hotels i could go to so I was stuck here. The location is very unsafe. Homeless all over, literally everywhere, very loud and clearly on drugs. Do not stay here.
- 5/5
Our room and beds/pillows were great! Very clean- staff was helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast was ok- but lots of options to choose from. Location is convenient to downtown & local hospitals.
- 5/5
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for the price. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the downtown area!
- 5/5
We stayed for Hoopfest. This weekend is usually packed and parking is limited. This was true of this weekend and even though they assigned parking permits there were several cars parked that did not have the permits displayed. The parking lot was so full that I had to park outside the hotel parking area and it was not a nice or safe area. I wish more parking was provided or parking was strictly enforced this weekend.
- 5/5
The property was newer. Staff were nice. Rooms were clean but already showing wear. Area is not the best.
- 4/5
Staff explanation was that car-key fobs or other electronic devices that get near the room key can deactivate it. Very frustrating!
- 5/5
Really nice new property - area wasn’t great lots of homeless but it was ok waking around.
- 5/5
Not the best area
- 5/5
I really appreciated the ones at front desk that answered questions and made us feel quite welcome in spokane.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in all categories. But the homeless in the area might make people feel unsafe. My wife and I are from large cities so we have been around that community of people. So we gave them pizza, groceries and dog food to them. The hotel can't control the surrounding area. But just know when you book a room here, you'll have to deal with this when you go out. But all of the homeless were respectful to us as we gave them respect.
- 4/5
Did not feel safe to leave the hotel!
- 5/5
Brandi at the front desk is great! She had multiple grumpy customers and managed them with grace and continued to serve me and others with warmth and kindness.
