Property is clean and well maintained. The staff is extremely helpful and nice! Huge thank you to Nell and her daughter Dee. They were extremely helpful during my stay!

Room was very clean and well supplied. Staff was amazing, accommodating and always asking if we need anything. Breakfast was good. Location is less than 7 mins from everything.

I really liked this hotel and the layout. Would have given it a 10 out of 10. However, we stayed 2 nights and the second night was not so great. There were several rooms that were occupied by what appeared to be teenagers. They were literally up all night and were roaming the property making noise all night. I spoke to the front desk at about 11pm and nothing was done. We did not feel safe and it was difficult to sleep. I went out a couple of times to check my vehicle to make sure it was ok.
- 4/5
breakfast was great room smelt musty but vety clean
- 4/5
Nell and Donna made the best breakfast! They were so sweet and were constantly working! P
- 4/5
Staff was great! Dated property/bit staff made it good!
- 5/5
Pet friendly. Spacious rooms. Great breakfast.
- 4/5
It looked like the cleaning service was rushed when he/she did our room. There was noticeable toothpaste splatterings on the faucets in the bathroom and a wash rag was hanging from the shower. Other than those things, we enjoyed the property.
- 5/5
Amy went above and beyond. Manager very nice.
- 4/5
The location was quiet and the staff were very friendly.
- 1/5
I would not recommend!!
- 5/5
Check in was smooth. The initial room we had was decent. It did smell weird. There was food left in the fridge and trash in the bathroom trash can. We were beginning to wonder if the room had been cleaned. We had an issue with the door and we were immediately assigned to a new room. It was handicap room and smelled better. We had a good stay. Parking was great. We were in a first floor room.
- 5/5
Hotel was decent. No complaints
- 2/5
Room had a bad smell when i entered it. Sofa was uncomfortable and seem broken. Furniture outdated. Noisy ac unit inside the unit.

The staff was friendly and the pool was very clean.
- 4/5
The stay was nice, however the hotel needs renovations and the bed was not comfortable. The staff was exceptionally nice.
- 2/5
The property looks nice from the outside. Reception and eating area are updated and clean. The concept of the room is nice because it’s a good size studio. So it’s cozy. Being there twice I was unhappy with the cleanliness and condition of the room. I found items still in room from prior guests. My second room smelled like him too Showers, air vents and ceilings are moldy. The appliances seemed as if they were on their last leg.
- 4/5
I paid Didn't like the hidden
- 3/5
The staff were terrific and the grounds looked nice. The issue was the smell of the room- the carpet smelled of animal urine.
- 5/5
Very good clean property with good breakfast
- 5/5
Great place!
- 3/5
The hot water would run out before you finish taking a shower. We reported the slow drain in the downstairs bathroom.
- 5/5
Absolutely delightful stay! Staff were very kind! Accommodations were above my expectations! We will be going again!
- 4/5
We had a good overnight stay. Upon check out we were charged for parking. We had a truck and trailer and found parking was difficult.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great staff! Accommodated my disabled father. Excellent customer service.
- 4/5
Quiet and clean otherwise
- 5/5
Fire place didnt work, but it was still fine
- 3/5
Marriotts are usually pretty reliable, but this one was disappointing. Building was old and needed updating/cleaning. Room smelled like smoke. I stayed on a very cold night and heat couldn’t keep up. Set the thermostat to 71, but it got down to 59 overnight and never made it above 63 while I was there. Sink handle was broken. Cabinets were all covered in a sticky film. Was randomly charged a $5 “parking recovery fee” after I left. Also this hotel js comprised of a bunch of small buildings with 8-ish rooms each. Not an indoor hotel. Will not stay again.
- 3/5
Needs a serious refresh. Property and rooms looked old. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Room was unclean.
- 3/5
Service was great wish they would tell you about daily parking fee in advance I think it’s ridiculous to charge that when rooms are already high. Secondly better cleaning my room smelled of urine all night couldn’t really sleep bc the smell was over bearing third towel should be hair free had hair on towels small hair like puberty/private area other than that live the setup breakfast and all was nice
- 3/5
Room smelled like cat pee, sliding door lock did not work. Very run down building.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
The facility is a little on the old side but very well maintained. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The breakfast on the other hand was outstanding, Mel took the preparation of the breakfast items to heart, and everything was fresh and well kept. Thank you.
- 3/5
Hotel needs an update and general maintenance
- 5/5
I love staying here when I come to Spartanburg. It is a perfect spot for my family to all come together. The room (penthouse) is exactly what I need when I am in town. The staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious. Best complimentary breakfast I have ever had at a hotel!
- 1/5
When we came to check-in my reservation was cancelled without any notification. They told me that they send me an email, but i was not able to find one. Also, when we came and realized that we have no place to stay nobody offers us help to find a new place. I have to drive to Sheraton next door and their stuff help me to find the room in the city.
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
Great property. Highly recommend
- 4/5
Only drawback for me was no elevator. I had taken my mom to a family event and wasn’t aware of this and was booked on 2nd floor. Found out this was a first generation Residence Inn. Set up and everything was great but just made it hard on my 85 year old mom with no elevator
- 1/5
Nothing
- 1/5
I didn’t like anything about this property. The room was filthy and had a strong odor. The bathroom smelled like urine. We decided to not stay at this hotel. The area was sketchy.
- 5/5
Good stay. Room clean and breakfast good.
- 4/5
The staff wasnt particularly friendly but they answered any questions we had.
- 3/5
Roaches in room. Rooms dated and worn down . Sofa cushions a stained . The lobby, breakfast area and buffet were remodeled and great breakfast . Location, although close to town , not that convenient. There is a Cracker barrel next door.
- 5/5
Better breakfast Alcohol available in mkt
- 4/5
However, the staff are great for the moment you arrive thru departure, informative and friendly.
- 4/5
The property shows wear needs updating, however I always enjoy my stay
- 5/5
Always like this residence Inn, Room space is great, Fridge and Kitchen and Bathroom off of the bedroom. Nice pull out couch, Finally, a place to stay worth the money......
- 5/5
Clean. Super nice staff. Adjacent to Cracker Barrel. Would stay here again anytime.
- 5/5
Decent hotel for the price. A little hard to find bc of road construction/detour. Fairly clean. We had lower floor suite and had tot in above room running across wood floor late at night: what are you to do?
- 5/5
I was surprised by the addition parking fee.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
The grounds and spaciousness of the suites are great, and this is a super place to bring kids with a nice pool.
- 2/5
Fora Marriott Property it was very disappointing. Grounds outside were particularly unkept and room was very musty and smelled.
- 5/5
We had a very late check in at 2 am. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. We appreciated it very much
- 2/5
After seeing our room and the location of the hotel we decided not to stay there. Room did not meet expectations.
- 1/5
Toilet didn't flush properly, because the chain had come loose. No maintenance person around to fix. Therefore, I had to fix myself. also, the room is dark and gloomy, when the curtains are not opened. Need more lighting in the appropriate dark area. The bed was hard . Really small for a queen size. Breakfast was poor. how many items are you going to serve sausages. What happened to the bacon? Or, links? This room certainly deserves a make over; and please clean the carpet.
- 3/5
The grounds are beautiful, and I really liked that it is townhome like hotel. Each unit has a separate entrance. The rooms itself are clean but pretty dated, floppy outlets, our room (312) had a smell to it, so we had our sliding door open a lot. But the hotel didn’t charge the arm and a leg for it, so we got what we paid for. Also, we prepaid our room through Expedia, the hotel charged us a daily parking fee, which no one warned us about when I booked it or during the checkout. It was not a lot of money, but the fact how it was done left aftertaste… Overall it was an okey property, but I am not sure I would stay there again
- 4/5
Time for some updates.
- 5/5
We were able to stay in comfort with our dogs and walk them easily. Breakfast was a real breakfast, not just coffee and donuts.
- 3/5
The room is large and layout is a lot like an apartment. Our table had burn holes, the upstairs tv didn’t work, and the downstairs bathroom tub didn’t drain. Just not a stay you expect from a Marriott more like a red roof inn.
- 3/5
.
- 2/5
Wasn’t impressed! Typically Residence Inn are nice and consistent. From the moment you entered the room there was an overpowering smell of something old or air freshener dumped into the carpet. Hair on the shower walls and toilet seat was dirty. We were late to an event and decided to go to the convenience store and just sanitize it ourself. Breakfast hours were from 6:30 to 9am on a Sunday which was also disappointing. They did build a newer location Downtown and that’s where I thought I was staying. I never will return
- 5/5
This was a fabulous place to stay. The room was an apartment. The bed was comfortable, the shower had enough water pressure, there’s an outdoor pool and a pickle ball court. Breakfast was great and every staff member I met was friendly and made me feel welcome. Five stars.
- 3/5
Great location. First impression was great. We quickly figured out that we could take one hot shower or two lukewarm showers at a time, difficult when there’s3 of us. Left donuts on the counter , few hours later we returned to a thousand ants. We didn’t bother alerting anybody about the water or ants. Left two pillows when we checked out and called the next day and they had them so we arranged for a pickup. Loved the location and layout of room but will not stay there again.
- 3/5
Next morning, breakfast worker rude. 45 minutes left for breakfast and said there was no more waffles or biscuits. She would not be bringing out more. It is a dated hotel. Room wasn't bad. Bed comfortable, sofa pull out was very comfortable. Plenty of room, large bathroom mirror and counter space.
- 3/5
It was very dated. We were told upon check in about incidentals. Placing a hold on our card in case of damages which is standard. Upon entering our unit we rented we noticed the stains on the couch and many on the floor as well. There were black drag marks also across the kitchenette floor and two holes in the kitchen floor as well. We took pictures of all the damages immediately so we wouldn't be held accountable for them. It was dated and definitely could use a good cleaning. There was a musty damp smell as well. Our son who has severe allergies ended up having a reaction. Upon checking out we did mention the stains and damages and showed them the pictures. The Manager at the desk was unaware of them and said their staff who cleans didn't mention anything about it. Luckily we had proof. We took photos as soon as we had entered the unit and saw them. I wouldn't stay here again.
- 5/5
Felt safe
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and it was quiet. However, the property is dated and a remodel is needed.
- 5/5
Nice individual suites. Some of the appliances could use some updating.
- 3/5
Very Convienant location next to 85 Business Loop and like the idea of being able to make meals during my stay using the kitchenette to save on eating out costs. However, a little disappointed that the house keeper didn't come every other day on a 4 night stay to clean shower, wipe down things and replenish towels. Breakfast wasn't the greatest either so, we made our own in our room. We had pre-paid using Expedia for our stay locking in savings, etc. When I checked out the girl at the desk said your all set no folio is usually generated because it's paid by Expedia which I've heard at many hotel stays fine. Then came the charge for parking on my card $2.28 including tax per day that was advertised as free on Expedia listing and not really disclosed properly on any of the check in paperwork. When I called to check on things clerk said it was disclosure letter mam and listed on Expedia site I was working didn't have time to review Expedia listing then did later only to find she fibbed as it clearly sites that one of the perks is free uncovered self parking. $9.12 isn't a lot but it's the principal if you say somethings free then it should be and shouldn't say to the guest everything's all set and then charge their card 2-days later. FYI NO Free Parking. Hoping the GM reverses but don't have strong hopes called back this evening they said don't know what your talking about you'll have to call back in the morning.
- 5/5
The room was large and comfortable. We liked the full sized refrigerator and microwave.
- 4/5
They did not dust well and some repairs are needed in other units. Overall the was staff was WONDERFUL!!! We really enjoyed the pool!! The coffee was the best!
- 3/5
Also lots of Mexicans who had glass beer bottles at pool & 1 was very annoying. Couldn’t enjoy the pool at all because of him. No hot water in bath or kitchen sink until last 2 days there. No housekeeping even after front desk told me they’d come once a week. I had to go and get fresh towels myself. Last breakfast was the same offering everyday.
- 1/5
Then they cancelled my reservation & would not reply. Lost $290- for the 2 nights... Bad management !
- 3/5
was not feeling very comfortable staying there. everything seemed old, needs alot of updates.
- 2/5
We did not get the 2 bedroom unit we reserved and had received a confirmation on the day before our arrival. 5 of us had to stay in one room.
- 2/5
The property was very old and dated. Room smelled and needs to be cleaned thoroughly. There was no hot breakfast due to a staff shortage. Employees were courteous.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Next to be brighten up
- 5/5
The hotel room was huge, I got the one with stairs and it was beautiful! It had a working fireplace and a full kitchen. The check in woman with the ugly wig was very rude. When I checked out there was a different lady who was nicer. I would definitely RECOMMEND.
- 5/5
Dana and J Mike did outstanding job, in customer service in hotel, everybody pleasant, High quality service in every area in hotel, Thank you so much all of you 💕
- 3/5
somewhat dated property, wife almost could not get door open sticking bad. Room was clean, if we were staying more than one night the kitchen may have come in handy.
- 3/5
BUILDING IS OLD AND NEED SOME UPDATING INSIDE THE ROOMS.
- 5/5
Definitely would recommend. Crackle barrel is right next to it for a great dinner. (Walking distance) Everything is 15-20 minutes from everything else. The hotel Staff is awesome and so down to earth and excited to welcome you to your stay.
- 3/5
Not clean
- 5/5
The morning staff member during breakfast did a great job restocking needed items and was very helpful and kind.
- 3/5
Very outdated building. Shower was funky, bed felt old and very soft in the middle. No cups and no silverware. Gentleman working the desk was very friendly and accomodating. Probably wouldn't stay here again
- 5/5
From start to finish, our stay here was amazing. Started with James and Darius at the front desk. James is so friendly, professional, and welcoming. The room was excellent. The only fault with the room, in our opinion, was the cleanliness of the carpet. It needs to be cleaned. After walking barefoot around the room for a while, the bottom of my feet were very dirty.
- 1/5
Absolutely the dirtiest, most unsafe place I have ever been to. This was not a hotel, this was a disaster!
- 2/5
Room was dirty, sink wasn’t installed, too small water heater. Stains on couch and pull out mattress.
- 1/5
This place needs to be either condemned or totally re modeled. It's like a run down section 8 housing development now. I had to call the front desk 4 times for issues in the room, and by the the 3rd call they were noticeably irritated with me. I can't really blame them because their working conditions are so horrible it seems impossible for them to keep a positive attitude. I'm really surprised that an International company like Marriot would let one of their facilities get to this point. I normally use the Westgate location but they were full so I settled for this location and regretted it as soon as I walked into the room. The TV's didn't work so they had to send a guy to get them on, then the remotes to them didn't work so I had to go to the front desk to get batteries. The kitchen didn't have a can opener so I had to go back to the front desk to get one and when I got back to the room to use it of course it was broken. When I called back to the front desk for another one the lady's response was..."I don't see another one". So I guess that was the only one in the entire facility. Eventually I just decided to go to sleep and get outta there the next morning as soon as possible. Around 7 the next morning I turned the shower on and immediately water started backing up in the tub so I just said the heck with it and packed up my stuff and got outta dodge. In my rush to get outta there I left an item, and of course when I called back it was nowhere to be found.Rating=Negative 0.000
- 5/5
Great place to stay if your staying two or more days. With a full working kitchen it made it easy and we liked the fireplace.
- 4/5
Absolutely loved our suite!
- 5/5
This hotel is very conveniently located right off the highway and close to the mall and restaurants. They had plenty of parking. The staff were very friendly. The room was like an apartment, very big, and clean. They have an area by the pool that has chairs and two gas grills for you to use.
- 1/5
We have been staying here for years. This time, the room was badly maintained. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut, crack in bathroom leaked water, closet door broken, stinky room. “Housekeeping” banged on door saying Spectrum needed to come inside. Rude and weird. Not going to be staying here again. Not up to the Marriott name.
- 1/5
I liked that the rooms were separated and there was a kitchen and 2 bathrooms
- 3/5
Kitchen was good but there’s no oven and definitely not enough utensils for cooking
- 2/5
No hot water. WiFi wasn’t working. Room had something white all over the counter and something that looked like brown meat left in the sink.
