Red Roof Inn Spartanburg - I-85

Room had grime on the walls, smelled like weed, toothpaste film on the counter, air conditioner in doon took 6 hours to cool off because it was barely blowing while on high. Staff just handed us our keys, read out our room number aloud, and didn't give us directions to our room so we had to wonder around to find it. Seemed we were bothering him when we checked in.

Absolutely would not recommend. I went to check in and there were drops of blood all over the lobby floor and outside on the sidewalk. Apparently, someone was just stabbed at the motel. Three police cars arrived and I never went to my room. I have children and left immediately. I requested a refund and Expedia refused.

The hotel smelled so bad even from the outside and once I opened the door to the lobby, it was an ABSOLUTE NO, for me and my family. Needless to say, we did not even check in much less stay. I am working to get a refund on a stay that wasn't...

We were switched to three different rooms on our stay. The first room the ac would not blow out and there were stains all over the sheets, second room we woke up the next morning and our toilet would not flush like there was no water to it, the third room was okay but the fridge never got cold.

I would not return.

Cards would not open the after we went for breakfast. I stood in the office for 10 minutes until the attendant arrived. I slept on top of the bedspread, didn’t want to get in bed. Not a good experience at all.

room was horrible, roaches running everywhere and bathroom had mold in it and was unclean. I can't believe this hotel is even allowed on hotels.com 3 reproof we were in and all like this.

I booked this room online for my kids and I to flee from a DV situation. I drove around the property and I realized the office is not clearly marked. As I was driving around, I knew at that point, I had picked the wrong place. There were lots of people outside sitting in their cars at 11 pm. I noted fixtures for permanent residence such as knick knacks in the windows, a play slide outside one room, etc. I did not feel safe. I went into the office and the lady I spoke to was very friendly. I drove around to the room. We were on the first floor. The parking space in front of our room was littered with a Bojangles box and a cat eating the remnants of food. I parked in the next space over and began to unload my kids and the car. I opened the door to find a light and the smell hit me. I do realize that the smoking room was cheaper. I used to smoke cigarettes and have stayed in many rooms with smoking availability. This was different. Not a cigarette smoke smell at all combined with some other musty old scent. I saw the beds were made but dirty. The covers had cigarette burns, black markings from someone putting their shoe or something else on the bed. The walls were dirty. I noticed pee like dried up stains, blood stains, stamp markings etc. Lamps dusty with cob webs, baby spiders everywhere, floor was greasy. The mini fridge was dirty and did not get cold. Strange demonic writing in red paint marker on door. We left at 1 am. We would rather sleep in the van then here. $80 lost.

I never stayed at the property but when I did go by there to look and speak to the office it was horrible. Nasty outside and inside, drug activity all around the place on the property and drug people just hanging around outside the property. Will NEVER recommend this place or any other red roofs. And they charged me when I didn’t even stay there after it said pay at the property, then said call Expedia to get my money back but Expedia allegedly tried to reach out to red roof and they can’t reach them but everytime I call red roof I get ahold of someone so it’s all suspicious and funny. Expedia and red roof just took my money and I paid for insurance on the booking and still won’t give me my money back. Never again will I use Expedia .

Smells just outside our room were terrible. No hair dryer and non functional electrical outlets in the room, but the A/C worked well and it was clean. If you just need to crash it’s fine, just don’t expect anything else.

We stoped off the hw to get gas. And thought we would book a room the price was perfect. But the location was so skechy. We didnt even get out of the car. And felt unsafe. We called to cancel the reservation and the hotel attendant was helpful too, to cancle and refund me the money. But i deff didnt feel safe. Have 2 harleys in the back of a pick up truck. We have to be overly cautious. But will deff research areas before booking.

Pictures online did not match physical appearance of the room. Filthy. Toliet, shower curtain, tub, towels had stains, bed covers faded and stained. Microwave, fridge was dirty from grimmy hands. Rooms near me had plants in the windows as if I was assigned a room by the long term guests, near back of property. Disappointed with the conditions.

Do not go to this place; it is a dump, and if anyone gives a good review, they must be friends of the owners. You have been warned.

I left my Nintendo Switch there. They kindly mailed it back to my home. Major kudos for their service!

Within being in the room for two minutes, we saw and killed TWO bugs, a stink bug and a cockroach. Rooms are small and outdated. Beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable. Would NEVER stay there again.

The place was dirty and filthy and noisy. We could hear the neighbors having sex all night. There was no hot water to take a shower. The bed was very uncomfortable the door I’m gonna attach a picture you can see right to the outside and it was bad.

I was impressed on how clean the room was. The shower curtain had a funny odor, and it looked dirty. Other than, it was a good value for the money.

So happy since our roof was destroyed i the storm. We arrived to find a sign stating that hotel was closed. Terrible. By then all other hotels were full

Hotel was the right price, but is run-down and has a problem with humidity in the room (pitted metal in bathroom, on chairs). Refrigerator barely worked. Skimpy with towels. Had to leave 2 days early when the storm knocked out power but did not get a refund for those days.

It was ok. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper. Room was not that clean. But they cleaned it good the next day but then never came back to clean or replace towels or toilet paper. Stayed for 5 days. It was quite though.

I was booked for 3 nights. The 2nd night they moved all my stuff from room and said I checked out but I was clearly booked for another night. They said my things was in storage they didn’t return all of my items to me. I’m not sure whyyyy my stuff was touched in the first place! Never will I stay here again! That’s invasion of privacy to rich and remove my things from a room I was booked in for 3 nights smh

Older motel in decent shape. 2nd floor walkway uneven level in some places. Very low water pressure in shower. Air conditioner noisy. You get what you pay for. Fairly clean and quiet on a late Sunday night.

There was bed bugs, i want a refund, i have a video of when i first got there there was blood on side of tub the sink was not clean and used soap on sink he cane in to clean it, i offerd him gloves, i touched the blood on side of tub if i get sick it will not be pretty. I want a refund i told front desk as i left, i have bits on my buttox and back leg. From sitting in a chair.

I know it was cheap but it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Dirty sheets,curtains had blood on them,toilet lid was broken floor was sticky everywhere. The sheets and towels stunk. Bedspread had cigarette holes.never again.

I asked to check out early and was told I would still have to pay for the remaining nights. No refunds. Worst hotel I have ever been in. A book this room with hotels.com and hotels.com would not help me get my money back for the additional nights I had rented the room for. Hotels.com said they called the manager and talk to him. The manager told me they never called but hotels.com told me they had him recorded and what his name was. The manager will lied to me. I would sleep on the street before I would ever stay at this hotel again. If you want to be disrespected, treated badly and have the worst accommodations possible, then stay here.

The room, condition, and cleanliness were all fine. Signage was quite bad. Access was down an unmarked street (across from "76" gas station) that I missed in the dark. The tiny office had one sign, hanging down, that I missed and drove all around the buildings. Then the directions to my room ("next building") were poor, and I walked around the whole place until I found it. A simple diagram posted in the office would help immensely.
