Room needs updating, mold growing in shower

This Holiday Inn was superb! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the location was near everything.

The staff were very friendly, courteous and professional. The hotel appeared to be relatively new and was bright. The breakfast was good. Its location was ideal to access downtown Spartanburg and the VCOM graduation that we were there for. It wasn't the fault of the hotel but its' proximity to the interstate meant that the rooms were not as quiet as I would have liked.

Staff were lovely and apologetic and happy for us to cancel. Hotel was so bad we didn't actually stay. Very basic, few facilities and dirty in the main corridors. Air conditioning poor.

The staff was friendly, and the room was clean.

Breakfast was awesome. Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee and OJ for $13.

I read the other reviews- what is important to me is a clean room, comfortable bed, easy check in, safe parking, quiet room. This place had all of that. The room was big. The bathroom was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the ac was cold and blocked out any street and other noises. While the common areas are probably in need of some improvements, that isn’t as important as a clean and safe room. I would recommend this place. I did not see the pool or gym nor did I try the restaurant- so no comments on that. The check in staff was pleasant at every interaction.

The front desk woman was extremely courteous, cheerful and helpful. We had some difficulty with the TV in the room, and after trying a different remote control with new batteries the problem wasn't corrected. She offered to move us to a new room, but we wouldn't have been viewing the TV for very long, so we opted to remain where we were. She thereupon gave us vouchers for breakfast the next morning, which was very considerate. We were very pleased with the service, and she was a very nice person to work with. BTW, the breakfast was quite good.

In Spartanburg, South Carolina. The hotel staff I met Tina, Ang the manager and Brit were all super friendly and patient. The room I had is pretty spacious, bed is super comfortable. The room I had didn’t come with a microwave which I prefer in case of late night craving but it’s okay. I will know next time. I do want mention, housekeeping should add 2-3 toiletries items in case of running out, I was only giving one with a family of 5, I did see a few strands of hair left in the shower. Which I immediately disinfected. It didn’t bother me as much everything in the room was pretty clean

Enjoyed my stay

Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful even going through the stress of the aftermath of a hurricane.

We were going to a concert, and decided to choose this location. Not only was staff insanely accommodating and that was the easiest check-in ever, the mini fridge was out in our first room, I needed it because I had breast milk I had to keep cold, they switched us immediately. Absolutely easy smooth process! Will be staying again. As it was super close to the venue, and insanely clean!

The staff was amazing, the property was not. Coffee maker nor fridge worked. Wallpaper pulled off the walls, bathrooms outdated, faucet wiggled.

I liked everything from chexking in to checking out. A very nice place to stay.

The property was nice. The room was clean and i loved the soft crushed ice. The General Manager Angela C checked us in and was very polite and welcoming. She checked us out the next day as well and still displayed the same energy. I would definitely stay again.

Staff was wonderful and nice. Our room was right next to the ice machine. Running through the halls all hours of the night. The water pressure was not good and water never got hot. Air never seemed to turn off.

My friend and I were traveling with our daughters for softball in her camper when it broke down. We booked this hotel at the last minute and showed up a little frantic. Brooklyn, at the front desk, went out of her way to provide whatever we needed for a comfortable stay. She even went so far as to bring a microwave to the front lobby for us to heat our food we had brought and offered us refrigerator/freezer space if we needed it.

It wasnt bad. Althought there was a leak in the bathroom and the shower door wouldnt stay closed.

Arriving at dinner time, Holiday Inn’s front desk staff was amazingly helpful. Expedia WAS NOT. I ATTEMPTED to check in with a confirmed, fully paid Expedia booking. The hotel had no record of my booking. After more than 30 minutes of trying to contact Expedia, I just paid the hotel directly so my older parents could get to their room. I will NEVER use Expedia again.

Everything about the hotel is fine. Just the location is interesting. It’s convenient to get to Wofford. But everything around it is sketchy

First floor hallway smelled like very strong urine. Told the front desk, said they would tell housekeepers but I think it was just so stuck in the carpet there was no getting rid of that smell. Could kind of smell it on our floor and room the first day but next day was better. The first floor never got better. Room wasn’t as cleanly as we thought it should of been.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. Ms. Brooklyn was so nice and so helpful. Not sure how or why but we were also blessed with breakfast vouchers on Saturday. Definitely will be going back. We were June 9th-11th. The place was very clean.

Restaurant wasn’t ready.

This place was a dump. Our room was dirty, we had only 2 towels and one washcloth and no one was at the front desk to help us get the things we needed. The elevator for 4 floors was so slow that I actually thought it was broken. Horrible place.

I was not given the room I booked, and had to get an additional room. The hot water barely ran and the stopper in the sink did not work making it difficult to wash. Breakfast was a joke.

The original room that we were in had a toilet that wouldn’t stop running, so we had to move to another room because there wasn’t any maintenance personnel onsite. We were upgraded to another room, which was great. The next day we went to breakfast with friends, and did some other things, to return to a room that was not cleaned. When we called the front desk, we were told that all of the housekeeping staff were gone and we should have requested to have the room cleaned. This was at 2:30pm. The hotel was very clean and Brooklyn (a staff person) was great, but not having our room cleaned made the experience less pleasant.

Even with an empty parking lot and minimal guests, there was no hot water in the shower with a trickle for water pressure.

Reserved room with tub. Didn’t get a room with one and they didn’t have a room to put me in so the reservation wasn’t for what we wanted. Our cards were double charged also and the lady who checked us in could not correct it

Was sorry the dining room was having a remodel but they had arrangement for a breakfast order if needed or wanted.

Arrived late and found out there was no breakfast served due to remodeling. They said there was some sort of snacks for breakfast in the little store but didn’t see any. Got to room and the temperature was set at 76. It was hot for summer and took most of night time cool room. The refrigerator didn’t work and only 2 towels provided

The staff and the manager were excellent and very accomodating. Because of the ongoing construction on I-85 business Route, this hotel should post more accurate direction for arriving and departing guests.

The hotel is being renovated but the staff accommodated this inconvenience by being very available and happy to help with any and everything at all hours. There were very genuinely positive staff interactions from all staff at all levels.

We chose the hotel because it advertised a hot continental breakfast. But the kitchen was closed - and a cold, shelf stable bag of snacks was set out to pick up instead. Bottled water and some snacks. Not worth the trouble.

Very clean & looked to be recently remodeled. No kitchen so breakfast was a grab bag, not expected.

Good spot for quick AAU trip, close to food, ATM, etc...Clean rooms, not noisy although there were lots of teams there. Overall quality hotel for the money.

Air/Heat did not work in our room. Stayed here due to the restaurant, because we had a dance competition late and early and it would be convenient for food. Unfortunately, the restaurant was under refurbishment and this is not advertised. They said they would do a complimentary bag breakfast from 6-9. The next morning went down at 8 to pick it up on our way to dance and they said they were already out and for time restraints it was too late to stop on the way to get anything else. The next morning, I went down earlier to get it and to my surprise it was an apple, a granola bar, and a pack of mini muffins. Not happy! Also the bed was made on the couch bed so I am sure those were not clean, which grossed me out and did I say the heat/air did not work nor the phone to call downstairs to tell anyone either and the advertised daily housekeeping didn't happen either. No maid service at all. The rest was clean, just wont stay here again.

Room had road noise, was not quiet. Also, the power went out at 3 am and was still out when we checked out. No hot water to shower or wash up or freshen up before leaving. Asked manager at check out if she could compensate us for the inconvenience even though it was not the hotels fault, but she said since it was thru a third party she could not

Staff was very kind- especially morning staff. It was clean, modern, and well maintained. A good deal for the price.

I just needed a night while my furnace was being fixed. The place was quiet and neat. The bed had like some plastic barrier under it that I managed to still get some sleep on. The bed was comfortable. I didn’t really use service for anything so I’m not sure how to rate that. I’d stay here again.

The hotel room was poorly maintained. Cracked ceilings. A sliding glass door that does not lock (with kids, not good), and poor room lighting. There was a woman complaining about finding cockroaches on her floor/room. Will not be back. Will probably stop using the app for this recommendation.

I picked this hotel at random from the Hotels.com app,being a Holiday Inn I figuit would be decent. Unfortunately the hotel as well as the general vicinity seem to have fallen on hard times. The young lady at check in was very nice and helpful. Let’s just say the cleanliness of the room was in question. My wife was more than uncomfortable with the room and we checked out. I understand the issues every business is having in the COVID craziness, unfortunately the one item that can’t be compromised is cleanliness.

Strange area

There was a dirty towel on the floor in my room. There was a wrapper of some sort also on the floor. Lights shining in window VERY BRIGHT all night.

All of this was brought up with the staff and the manager called to apologize and instructed me to contact Expedia for a credit since they could not do it with 3rd party.
