Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. However, there are consistent complaints about the lack of hot water, poor breakfast, and issues with room amenities.
- Clean and spacious rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- No hot water in several instances
- Poor breakfast selection and quality

Our room on the 4th level had no screens for the window and the sliding door had a broken/missing handle making the door impossible to lock. The shower also had mold in it.

Staff very quick and nice Nothing for breakfast and it was only 8:20am and breakfast was supposed to be from 6-9am
- 3/5
Booked a room with balcony only to find out the one we had was inaccessible. The fan in the restroom didn’t work and/or didn’t have one. One of the sinks had a drain plug that was stuck down. Ac worked blew cold, window opened but no screen so some bugs came flying in. Room was spacious though! Kitchen came fairly stocked with cooking equipment (pots pans etc)
- 3/5
There was 1 plate in the kitchen, and have to ask the front desk for them.
- 1/5
When asking for food advice nearby the associate told me to go to 7/11. The associate gave me a room key to a room that was still occupied. The associate followed up by giving me another room key to a room where the cabinets were swung wide open, pots and pans were strewed across the counter, bed sheets were missing, and pillow sheets were missing.
- 2/5
When I got to the front desk to check in, the didn't have any
- 3/5
We booked through third party and we had a pull out bed and when we arrived we didn't have a pull out bed. We only had a desk and chair and sofa chair. To get a room like we booked it would be an extra $100+ a night. Then when we arrived at our room it was completely dirty. We were booked a room that was not ready and they had to change us rooms. They also charge for parking and a pet fee. The rooms need a deep cleaning. Not worth what we paid.
- 0.5/5
The fact that it’s closer to work Everything. It needs renovation or sound proofing rooms being so close to airport. They don’t refill the bath soaps or anything diligently. Not as clean as it should be.

Over all nice stay But out reception was not inviting or welcoming. There was leftover food in our refrigerator and our bed felt like it was broken in the middle.
- 2/5
No me gustó que no funciona el internet y que me quitaron un depósito de 150 dólares al momento de entrar a la propiedad y no me lo devuelvan al salir sino que te go que esperar varios días me parece una falta de respeto
- 1/5
I checked out. The rooms were disgusting i was moved a total of 3 different times and all rooms were filthy.
- 1/5
No hot water. This is my first time I couldn’t take a shower. Staff was rude, the room is also dirty.

If the management and staff cared even 1%, it would be a nice hotel. Leaving my trip there cut short by two weeks.

I am writing to formally document the unacceptable level of service and the numerous issues I encountered during my recent stay at the Lakespur Hotel. Upon check-in, I discovered there was no toilet paper in my room. When I requestedstaff member simply handed me a single roll and walked away without a word. Additionally, the room adjacent to mine had a "beware of dog" sign; the animal barked throughout the night starting at midnight, and there was a loud disturbance in the hallway. The following morning, I found that all the shower dispensers were empty. At approximately 6:40 a.m., I notified the front desk staff of these issues and requested that they either be resolved or that I be moved to a different room before I returned. When I arrived back later that day, the shower dispensers were still empty. The staff member on duty finally offered a room change at that point, but the gesture was too late to rectify the experience. The lack of training, empathy, and basic service standards from your staff was disappointing. I have advised my company to cease booking any future stays at this location, and I do not intend to return

Don’t stay here
- 3/5
Parking was convenient and secure. Most troubling was the lack of disclosure about an extra fee of $32.40 that showed up on my statement, but was not spoken of or disclosed in any way I received no documents at check-in or check out. I will not be staying there again. There are better choices in the neighborhood

The room was dusty and smelled like sewer. I tried to turn on the fan but the sewer smell lingered. the toilet was permanently stained.
- 1/5
The room had no soap in the dispenser. I couldn’t figure how to call the front desk or they weren’t answering. I’ve never had a problem staying here before but last nights stay wasn’t my best, house keeping started knocking around 9 and there was no do not disturb sign on the door handle and lastly the tv remote was sticky luckily I carry disinfectant wipes anyway hope you can get these things addressed with your staff thank you
- 1/5
Ants in the bathroom, no soap in shower, stains, terrible breakfast, didn’t even offer water during breakfast, just generally not a great spot. Cheap though
- 3/5
Nice staff
- 3/5
Upon check in they gave me a room that was under construction then gave me another one that was under construction as well, that’s the only bad thing I would say but other than that the 1 br suite was ok… kitchen equipped with essentials and tv has YouTube and Netflix
- 5/5
Clean and huge rooms. Breakfast was good
- 2/5
This is a hard no because we didn’t even get toilet paper for are room the window was open to the street know one locked it. Bed sheets were stain in blood. Door was coming apart at the bottom. Tv was unplugged. This was a suite no way
- 1/5
Has nothing to do with the facility itself. The finer pointing between hotel and hotels.com on who is responsible, is just sickening. Asking for a feedback about stay when there is an outstanding dispute (for which there is no feedback, as promised) just tells me that nobody really cares.
- 3/5
Little outdated compare to all the new buildings around.

Room phone wasn’t working. We got to go down to the lobby for our needs. No toothbrush, they’re out of it. Other than these, everything is okay.
- 1/5
Furniture had holes in it. Bathtub drain was clogged. Bathtub was dirty. I put the maid request tag on the door. The room was not made up. Went to the front desk and was told that we had to let the front desk know if we wanted the room made up. Breakfast was omelet made with proceseed squate cheese. No potatoes, no creamer no milk. It was awful. I left 2 days early found other accommodations.

The manager is probably the rudest individual I have encountered in quite a while. Their idea of hospitality is one that visitors should know before booking this property! The management company that runs this property cares about nothing except profit. Stay clear of this property if you can.
- 5/5
Best I ever had
- 2/5
We found fleas in our room. We didn’t notice them right away. I was changing my son’s diaper and I noticed something landed on him and I smacked it off when it jumped again. Then I noticed another one on the bed. I thought it was an isolated incident but no. We were in for the night and were going to check out the next day so we didn’t bother to request another room. I found another flea in the living room and two more in the bathroom. Upon check out we let the staff know about the fleas, he didn’t seem surprised at all, and didn’t offer any apologies and said he would let housekeeping know so they can take care of it. We were in the king size room with the balcony, room was big and spacious but we would not stay here again.
- 3/5
Guests leave their dirty laundry in halls and they usually are picked up by staff days later.. Breakfast is not for vegetarians and coffee was almist drinkable. Kitchen facility was good, with very limited utensils. Car Park was free and convinient for the airport

I wanted to leave no stars but that's not possible do not stay at this hotel for anything avoided all you can my truck got broken into in the parking lot they didn't even care somebody else had to call the police for me and the staff is nosy the rooms are outdated and barely clean all the rooms I've stayed and have ants the door knobs don't work sometimes there's ants and all the rooms I got the truth
- 4/5
The front desk staff was great every interaction. Decor is dated but reasonably good condition. One bedroom suite was a good size. The living room could use a table or 2. Kitchen had ample pans, glasses and dishware. The room smelled a little musty when I first entered, but just opened a window for a bit. Living room TV didn't work at first, but just a matter of plugging the HDMI cable back in. Room door was a little tricky. I had to try the card key a few times before I got the green light. Then it took another few tries to figure out that you have to pull the lever up, not push it down. Simple breakfast. Available items seemed to be more varied the earlier I got there. Maybe not kept adequately refilled. Small space with few tables. I ate standing up past 2 days
- 4/5
Overall decent place to stay, can tell the property is aged but the rooms were clean enough and area is close to highways and decent distance from lots of restaurants. “Full kitchen” is quite a bit of a stretch but can make do with what’s there.
- 5/5
The kitchen was fully stocked
- 5/5
Friendly staff and the room was clean.

Awesome little kitchen! The location was perfect and the room was in excellent condition. I was able to be dropped off using public transportation bus 130b right in front of the hotel.

- 1/5
Breakfast was subpar and burnt
- 5/5
The kitchen was mostly equipped for cooking. It would benefit from measuring spoons and cups and more utensils and s few oils and spices. Could also usd some storage containers and dish towels. Other than these extra things that would make it even better, it was equipped just fine and we were able to use the kitchen. I couldn’t tell if it wasx pet friendly or not.
- 5/5
The eggs are fake
- 3/5
There were a few things: The door to my room constantly jammed. There were ants inside the room. And front desk accidentally issed another guest a key to my room. Breakfast was not fully available within time frame listed.
- 3/5
We found ants in the room. The staff was good and accomodated our request to change the room. But the hotel is a old property and the breakfast is very basic. Seemed the breakfast wasn't replinished much.

A fire alarm for no reason went off in the middle of the night.

Dirty, run down, I’ve have stayed there 3 times in the last 4 years and every time the fire alarm goes off. The couch has more stains than a casting couch. I’ll stay in my car next time.

Everything was great, room, staff, I really enjoy staying here
- 3/5
Old
- 2/5
Mattress was so old that I was rolling into the middle of the bed from either side. The couch was so old that the plastic cover on it was cracking. The bedroom didnt have its own A/C heater system. The patio couldn't be locked and it had dry rot on the patio floor making me almost fall through it. The carpet was dirty. The furniture was old.

Bedding was not comfortable mattress was to hard other then that hotel was decent.

We were very disappointed. Their silverware consisted of 3 spoons and 3 butter knives. No corkscrew for the wine, so I went downstairs to ask for one. The front desk clerk looked confused. He went in the back for a couple of minutes then returned and said 'we don't have those'. The hand lotion dispenser in the bathroom had soap in it. There was paper stuck to the desk. The security latch on the front door didn't work, which we didn't discover until we returned to our room late at night. Check out was at 12 per our confirmation, and when at 12 we still weren't quite ready, I called front desk and asked for extra time. The clerk said they could do it for an extra charge. I said, "you can't even give us 30 minutes?" He said, "you're already an hour past checkout." When I told him my confirmation said 12, he replied, "It used to be 12 and now it's 11." Before putting them on blast I sent an email to the manager. No reply. A week later I sent an email to their headquarters. No reply. Now I know why my experience was so terrible. It starts at the top. There is a Hilton Garden Inn across the parking lot, AC, Embassy Suites, Sonesta and others are really close by and are much better options.
- 3/5
The location was very industrial
- 2/5
Poor breakfast; no creamer for coffee

Property is run down
- 4/5
Room was pretty worn out. Over due for an upgrade. Hand soap dispenser in the bathroom was depleted. Kitchen did not have any cooking utensils. Not enough plates for 2. Not enough drinking cups for 2. No toaster. No sponge for the sink. Outlets need to be updated. Table needs an extra chair. Tv was out dated. Could not set up our fire stick…. Overall the room and area was decently clean.
- 4/5
Friendly stuff members
- 2/5
An overall below average experience. Poor breakfast items ( not enough food), and a lackluster choice of breakfast items. Hallways had dirty carpets. Rooms had no telephones for emergency call to the front desk. This place earned a solid "D" grade. Never again will I stay in this rundowned hotel.
- 1/5
first of all service are not great! the room was really hot! i call the front desk to let them know that the ac is not working ! and front desk stating there's no maintenance and we have to wait before they come and fixed i even told them we cant even rest because its really hot ! then i call them and ask for extra towels and toilet paper nobody came we have to go down and get it ourself
- 4/5
It wasn't bad.
- 2/5
Breakfast does not compare to other hotels. Lacking fresh fruit , yogurts, etc
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Carpets are dirty and worn out in places. No coffee maker in room upon arrival. No extra blankets in room. Little silverware not for two people. Did not eat breakfast because it wasn’t very appetizing.
- 4/5
The room was fine. Nothing spectacular luke previous Larkspur properties. There was a crowd outside the front door, pretty sketchy, many changing people. Clearly the property isn’t as maintained as other Larkspur locations. Definitely did NOT feel safe walking to my car alone.
- 4/5
The property is pretty old need update and the smoke area always look not clean .May need more staff because I only saw on horsemen working he is amazing ,he also the only one taking care of breakfast .sometimes you will see dirty linens left since yesterday still in the hallway and trash .none of that is a beautiful property I do like it
- 2/5
Poor air circulation due to non functioning air conditioning. Looks like the room was not properly cleaned and inspected when I checked in. No bathing soap had to call front desk.
- 5/5
Will stay again highly recommended
- 1/5
When I first got there the female receptionist gave me a black garbage bag to get ice for ice but didn't know it until later someone took my Brand-new Tupperware box Hair in the shower stall in my studio suite Extremely Loud noise from upstairs and check out receptionist tells me I have to wait 8 to 12 business days to get my Security deposit back and gave me a blank receipt for payment
- 1/5
I was excited for the apartment-style setup of the hotel room. But there was no hand soap in the bathroom. No body wash nor conditioner in the shower. The soap dispensers kept falling off the wall. To make it worse, the AC in my room was broken. The wall monitor for the AC was unable to turn on at all. I expected more basics.
- 3/5
Meh. The entire property (including my room) smelled like cigarettes and there was rarely anyone working the front desk.
- 5/5

That fact my room wasn't ready after 3pm , wrong room from what I had purchased.. elevator wasn't working..... the worst of all .. was the breakfast the cooker gave an attitude and didn't want to to cook what we wanted ... he said to show up early when I showed up at 700 am .. when breakfast was held 6 to 9 ... never again going there ..
- 5/5
Great experience staff very friendly bery clean rooms
- 3/5
The clerks came off as unconcerned when asked anything beyond extra towels. The breakfast was hit or miss. One day nothing much next day ok. But for the the 5 days we were there they never put out juice. First day egg potatoes and milk muffing/began only. I was charged for one of my rooms on the card I used to hold even after paying for all 5 rooms. The room was changed and cost decreased but my card still reflects the higher bill As of now I am still owed. back $300+ dollars. I requested correction for 2 says/left a message. No success. I called back when came home. Noone answers so I sent an email but still no one responded. Family keycards kept having to be replaced for not working and the lobby elevator button was very hard to work. Needed some replacement of carpet in a few areas. That being said hotel was clean the the grand suites were nice in size and the lobby was nice for us to gather. My biggest issue is I had to pay for everything when I got there and yet the amount wasn't corrected on after me being there for 5 days and everyone appeared clearly unconcerned or clueless
- 4/5
It would be nice to know that there is a charge for parking in a vast lot that is shared by hotels and businesses. Not so much the money but the fact that is not stated when booking. Toilet was faulty with the water from tank running constantly. I advices the front desk clerk when I checked out.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 3/5
Much of the carpets were dirty, door handles were hard to open. Service by employees was good.
- 3/5
Check-in process was good. Noticed the toilet was not flushing and instead of sending someone to come take a look, receptionist left a plunger for us. Two days we were there, there was no coffee in the lobby. 2nd day I mentioned to another receptionist but didn't see her get up to fix the issue. There was no one in the lobby.

It’s okay, I do agree to others that said, the hotel is quite outdated compared to the rest of the hotels nearby.

- 3/5
This place used to be so nice when it first opened years ago but all that same furniture is still there and old and falling apart. The phone had to buttons on it, the kitchen area is super ghetto now and nice
- 4/5
Everything was great except the front desk staff was never at the desk and you had to raise your voice to say hello in order to get someone to come help you
- 5/5
Another private and quiet stay at the Larkspur Landing loving life

Had some trouble with the keys but the person at the counter was very helpful and got us switched to a different room. Unfortunately that meant we went from a Murphy bed to a hide a bed for our third person which was not comfortable.

My first night was all right. The second day my bathroom and shower was plugged and I report it first thing in the morning.I came back to the hotel after 5 pm my room was not cleaned and the toilet and tub was still plugged and most of the employees can’t speak English only Spanish.
- 4/5
please send me hotel invoice , thank you
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing. Delicious free breakfast!
- 3/5
It was okay. Lady at the desk as not always present. Other guest and myself waited in the lobby several minutes and we can clearly hear her on the phone talking to someone. She never came out until someone yelled hello. We had a difficult time trying to open the door to our suite, the door opened up inside of door. The furniture needs an upgrade, you can tell how old it was from all the scratches and peeling paint. Overall, it was an okay stay.
- 2/5
i stayed here for 10 days while i was attending a near by cooking school. i have stayed at larkspur landing multiple times when i have been taking classes. after i had moved all my stuff in (no help with luggage, not a luggage cart in sight), i discovered that the electronic lock on my door demagnatized my key after every use. when i asked the front desk to repair the lock--their suggestion was to move rooms. this hotel advertises kitchenettes, since i was here 10 days, i hoped to cook most of my meals in my room. the microwave worked, but the pots had no lids. they did not seem to be even of dollar store quality. the carpet is worn in multiple places. i realized there is a decorating style of shabby chic, but this was just shabby. i will continue to take my cooking classes, fortunately, there are newer hotels on the same street as larkspur landing and i will be giving them a try; there is no way they could provide less service than i received on my last stay.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
The room was supposed to be a queen so we were surprised to see a double bed. One fork, one bowl, one towel…. It was ridiculous.
- 5/5
Great time at this place
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful but had to ask to change rooms several times. One room heater/ac unit didn’t work. Another room was missing the latch lock. I cut my finger inadvertently and found sharp shards of metal were sticking out of where the lock was supposed to be. We finally got into a decent room. But was disappointed by all of the hassle.
- 5/5
I loved the room and the property. Front desk staff were awesome and the cleaning staff amazing. I will return! Thank you.
- 5/5
Nice property for the most part. A little noisy from the other suites above and beside with kids bumping around etc but I think this is typical for the construction of these hotels. Staff was nice.
- 4/5
Nice staff, quiet room.
- 4/5
Hotel was ok. You pay what you get for. Everything was great. Can't complain.
- 4/5
The breakfast was very poor. When I was in the room around7:05 am, all foods had gone but it is no service to refill. When I left around 8:00 am, there just have some services to come to refill it. It is very poor service for this hotel. I will not come again.
- 4/5
Quick overnight stay near airport. Refrigerator too noisy so we turned it off. Then much quieter.
- 5/5
Be my go To I felt safe it was quiet and easy access to work.
- 3/5
Breakfast has limited options. The dining room has not enough table and chairs.
- 4/5
Love this older property to have kitchen in the room but 12" memory foam mattresses would make this place way better!
- 4/5
Cant shower water is cold , i run it for 15 mins
- 2/5
There are a lot of people that are living at this place. The suite is nice itself if it was clean and updated the food was basic and was all gone by the time I went to eat at 7:30.

I first stayed at LL-SSF in 2000 for 1 month during my transition from school to 1st industry job. Since then I've stayed there several times to attend various conferences in SF. The property has aged, understandably, but this stay was marked by a strong CBD smell when emerging from the elevator on the 4th floor every evening. Several evenings when returning to LL, there was an occupied car in the parking lot from which a strong CBD smell emanated. One morning my colleague mentioned that one member of that family came into to the lobby and the breakfast nook speaking nonsense to the patrons. Another consistent observation is that the staff were rarely at the front counter, but rather in the room at the back. Therefore, may walk freely into the hotel (no card key needed for elevator use).
- 5/5
Like the place
- 3/5
Just needs renovations. Everything is sort of outdated
- 3/5
Had an issues with twin pullout bed (leg missing) but was moved to another room pretty quickly. Breakfast was not the best, as there was very little for the amount of guests staying
- 5/5
Rooms are nice for the price, only complaint would be terrible pillows so bring your own if you don’t want a stiff neck.
- 5/5
The Larkspur Landing Home suite is a beautiful and comfortable place away from home. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and beautiful with lots of space. The queen bed was so comfortable, it was like you are sleeping on a cloud. The Sofia mattress was indeed comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was equipped will all the utensils, appliances and cookware needed in a kitchen. I spend 5 days there and it was one of my best experiences in a hotel I ever had. I will indeed book that place again if I ever visit San Francisco again by the grace of God.
- 4/5
It was alright
- 4/5
Good value for the price

The hotel seems to have deteriorated since the last time I was there. I remember they used to have lemon water out in front lobby along with cookies for guests to welcome them not no more. But the rooms were comfortable

Don’t get a room on the first floor, all the rooms I’ve been in are terrible. The first one the door didn’t work and the soap dispensers were missing from the room. The other room they moved me to somebody tagged all the woodwork and the sink drain leaked. The rooms improve as you go up, with 4th floor being the best.

I suppose fair for the price but property is worn. Location was quiet.

For the price, it’s good. Not the cleanest place I have stayed at but certainly not the dirtiest either.

Property smelled like smoking even while staying in a nonsmoking room. Carpets could’ve been cleaner may be due to being dog friendly.

The overall stay was nice. It was quiet. The facility was very clean just a little dated.

When I arrived at the property, there were police evicting someone. I only knew that was their reason for being there because the front desk girl told me. A lot of people were outside in front, smoking upon walking into the entry doors to check in. Once I got to my room, it smelled of perfume and cologne. The room condition itself is not terrible but also, not great. the bed is extremely hard. There is a lot of noise above me as well. Overall, the property and room looks nothing of the photos on Expedia, the check in process was lack luster and the police coming in to evict someone was extremely alarming.

This hotel was clean and quiet. I was disappointed that they didn’t clean the rooms daily.
