Holiday Inn Express & Suites Silt-Rifle by IHG

I booked this hotel because my wife and I always want a pool and hot tub. We booked the room for 3 nights. When we checked in we were told neither the pool nor the hot tub were operating. Very disappointed!! No offer was made to discount the cost. It was not fixed before we left on the 3rd day.

First of all hotels.com messed us up. I was under the impression that the Suites part in their name meant a better room. I thought it would be like in Florida where they had 2 bedrooms and a main room. It was only one room for 7 people. They should have reserved it with 2 rooms. You cannot put 7 people in a room for 6. Had to get another room after first night. Son slept on the floor. Sofa bed was horrible. It was very crowded. Service was good. Beds were so so. Breakfast was good.

Staff very friendly and helpful, room very clean, quiet and comfortable, great shower pressure, all the little extras in room (toiletries, fridge, microwave) easy access to ice machines on each floor, hot tub large, perfect temperature and functioned very well.

I booked this hotel because of the rave reviews and because we normally enjoy Holiday Inn Express hotels. Unfortunately, we didn't have a fabulous experience like other reviewers. We checked in late in the evening, only to discover that our room's thermostat (and therefore the AC) didn't work. The woman at the front desk was kind and wonderful in trying to help us. Unfortunately, because hadn't booked direct through IGH, she wasn't able to offer us any sort of compensation, but thankfully she was able to move us to another room, even though it wasn't as nice as our first (no balcony or river view). This room was quiet & comfortable, but definitely older with some problems - the toilet didn't flush very well, the top nut on the lamp was missing so the lamp shade was loose and jiggly etc. Overall, we did sleep well though. In the morning, the woman working the breakfast area was clearly sick and multiple times she was coughing into the air (no covering her cough). Ugh - not what we want to see with someone working around food. We chose this room based on the reviews because it was my daughter's birthday while traveling and we wanted a great experience. Unfortunately we didn't have a stellar stay (could have just been bad luck on our particular visit), however I will say the front desk staff was super nice and tried to be as helpful as they could.

Nice river view, but the place was so out dated and old. We could hardly handle the smell, luckily we could keep our windows open.

The location was very conveniently located right off I-70. The pool/spa was very clean and towels were provided. I continental breakfast was delicious. We ate breakfast on the back patio alongside the river.

Public corridors were not cleaned daily, crumbs on the floor constantly. Water machine I was told had been broken for years, no maintenance request to fix it obviously. Breakfast left something to be desired, juice machine didn’t work throughout half my stay and the offerings were the same every day. Breakfast server was the most unfriendly person in the entire world, do not have unfriendly people working in the morning. Thin walls and people up until 2 AM talking loudly.

The only issue I had was our key card was not working to access the side entrances or the pool and exercise area. The staff was able to accommodate us with a new room and everything worked properly with the key cards

The tvs didn’t work, the wallpaper in the bathroom was cracking and there was mold behind it. The bathroom floor tile was cracked and a tripping hazard. Breakfast was lack luster. Juice machine broken. Fridge with bottled juice gallons inside that everyone is touching. Just not up to par

Hotel is dated and needs refreshed. Breakfast was lukewarm. Parking was limited. Air conditioner was loud and cycled on and off constantly.

The front desk staff was very nice and attempted to accommodate us the best they could. The room smelled like pet urine. We asked to switch rooms and the second room smelled worse. The breakfast was lackluster. Most of the food was gone and when they re-served it (after we waited about 45 minutes), it was undercooked. The hotel was great for the location and price. It served its purpose and gave us the quiet get away we needed.

The staff were excellent! The room was very clean. The pull out bed was terrible! But the beds were comfortable. The pool was very nice and comfortable. The furnishings are a bit out of date.

Room did not have any access to temperature control, woke up cold and couldn't change the temp or find an extra blanket. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The complimentary breakfast was horrible, food was cold and very low quality. It's too bad, I stayed at this hotel several years ago and it was a very nice stay.

We had to book here, because the other place we booked was so awful. This hotel is a 15 min drive from Glenwood and it was so worth it. Our room was so nice, price was great. Excellent pool and hot tub area. Breakfast was excellent and included. Parking was free, unlike most hotels up in Glenwood. Staff was so awesome and and recommend a great local place to eat. We have zero complaints or concerns here. We even ended up with a room overlooking the river. If you are staying in Glenwood, just go down the road and stay here. You will not be disappointed. Well done property managment!

Loved it so much!! Beautiful, clean, great location, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. Our balcony room was very nice & the suite itself felt so big. I wish we could've stayed longer but we were on a roadtrip elsewhere. Would definitely come back though!

Rooms were clean, staff was excellent! The only complaint I have is the lack of parking for trucks and trailers. I was on a hunting trip and it was sometimes difficult to find parking for my truck and trailer.

No water pressure in the shower, poor breakfast service: out of coffee, cold cinnamon rolls, oatmeal somewhere under the water. Room was big but had a very small TV. Hotel seemed old needing updating.

Was traveling to this location and 2 days before scheduled check in wife got checked into hospital in Santa Fe NM, contacted property to cancel reservation and was told no, even with Expedia trip protection no refund was provide by property or Expedia. Very upset about this.

Excellent large, inviting therapeutically hot Hot Tub. Breakfast a cut above most hotel/motel breakfasts with many healthy protein items rather the usual sugary white bread stuff that many other motels offer for breakfast. All the amenities in the room were first class.

Our family loved the balcony rooms overlooking the river. The location was peaceful & quiet. The breakfast was really good, biscuits & gravy, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, bagels, yogurt, cereal, pastries, a lottle bit of something for eveyone! The staff was helpful and positive. The only negative was the fold-out couch matresses were terribly thin, ypu could feel every coil, dont count on them for a good nights sleep.

This hotel was a little distance away from Glenwood Springs but It was ok. The hotel itself was fine. The rooms were good. The pool was good. Kids liked it. The Jacuzzi was fine. A little too hot. Good location. right next to the river. Breakfast options were good. Good food. Overall it was safe and clean.

Great view of the river and mountains - stayed in 315. I love the copper pipe railing work in the stairwell. Conveniently located off I70. The continental breakfast was good as well. The receptionist was amazing and made a great recommendation for dinner at the Miner's Claim restaurant which is just a few minutes away in Silt.

We were hoping the pool was open no where did it say they were closed my son likes being in the pool so it was a bit disappointed other than that it was fine !

Very nice hotel set next to Colarado River and a good stop between Moab and Denver. Excellent service, relatively new, compact little swimming pool and gym. The only restaurant around is Miners Claim which I would also recommend.

What a great little place. The room was very spacious, clean, convenient. The breakfast is very nice, standard continental breakfast plus, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, etc..... Right on the Colorado River with a walking path which follows the river in either direction. Really nice for an evening walk. Don't miss the Miners Claim Restaurant (in Silt, the hotel has the menu and a discount card) -- EXCELLENT!! Close to Glenwood Springs and a bunch more reasonable rates. No doubt I'll be back.

The only issue was when we first arrived we just wanted to make sure everything was in order for our stay and find out if anything wasgoing on locally. It was 11am and we felt the receptionist became defensive when we asked what was going on meaning in the area as far as events but she took it as why can’t we check in right now and began to explain how busy they were. She seems clearly stressed. We could have been clearer in our question but I don’t feel she needed to be defensive either way. Other than this one interaction everything else was comfortable clean and perfect and everyone was super helpful and nice! Definitely recommend staying here.

I had a great stay, in a nice clean room with everything I needed. The staff were friendly and I couldn't have been happier. The only thing lacking was the continental breakfast - which to their credit it is tough to please all in a buffet-style setting. Just grab some salt and maybe some hot sauce and you'll be fine.

I thought this place had a great view, not Glenwood but not too far from there! Was pretty pleased

This was our second stay at this location. It has been about 4-5 years since we have been here. It was just as great as we remembered it! Last time we had a river view and this time a Mountain View. Very comfortable bed and overal accomations. Tv quality was excellent bathroom newly remodeled.

We stayed at the silt Colorado location on our trip to the Glenwood Hot Springs. The staff was super helpful and very friendly .

This property sits beside the Colorado River in Silt, CO. It is clean, Quiet and easy to get to off of the freeway (I-70). The employees where helpful and friendly, as well as, professional. It has an elevator, swimming pool, whirlpool, and a good breakfast.

Very nice and clean place to stay. Friendly staff when I come up to rifle Glenwood silt area will stay here again. Just wish restaurants were open later in the area lol.

The hotel is wonderful. Set in front of the Colorado River, if you're lucky you'll get a room with a balcony overlooking the river. It's easy to get to right of the highway.

Perfect stay in everyway but one! The rate was very cheap but I trusted Expedia and Holiday Inn Express. After I had checked in and went to the pool I saw the sign that the pool was closed for maintenance. This was not pool maintenance, this was pool room restoration, a complete makeover. It would have been fair to tell me before check-in or at least at check-in of this situation which would have allowed me to transfer to the Holiday Inn Express in Glenwood Springs. The Expedia app could be used for this situation as well as the web site. Not very nice.

This was a great hotel for a quick stop over on the way from Salt Lake City to Denver, the staff were friendly and the room was very clean. The only downfall was having to travel about 7 miles to Rifle for most restaurants and amenities. There is a train track very close but the trains seemed to stop running around 9.30pm. The breakfast was great, and the veiws of the Colorado River from the breakfast room were stunning.

It really warmed up my insides visiting such a friendly place.

Stayed here for the night so we could be fairly close to Hanging Lake. Got the room with a balcony looking over the Colorado River. Too bad we didn't have much time to sit and enjoy the view. Room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Not a fan of the sliding pocket door into the bathroom, but it did the job. Great breakfast with a great view. Overall got a very good deal on the room and the stay was enjoyable.

The people were awesome

I am very disappointed in hotels that do NOTHING to conserve. The prime example at this, and many other HIEX hotels, is their "disposable" breakfast program. The food is SO low quality, and absolutely EVERYTHING is plastic or styrofoam, with NO recycling options available. It is a horrendous waste that must be corrected throughout the industry.
