Reviews
The State Hotel is a boutique hotel with a chic design and a prime location in Seattle, just steps away from Pike Place Market. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean and cozy rooms, and easy access to local attractions. However, some guests find the rooms to be on the smaller side and parking to be challenging.

Everything we needed was available and an easy walk to things we wanted to see. We just wished we could have stayed longer. We had a room with no view but we weren’t in it that much and there’s a terrace on the 8th floor which was nice and we met a nice couple.

Convenient to local attractions

Great location...within walking distance to Pike Market and many local pubs and restaurants. Clean rooms. My biggest complaint is that the restaurant and bar on site were only open a few hours every day. When we were out exploring all day and wanted to come back for a nightcap or a quick bite, everything was closed. Also, staff was a bit stuffy...not very friendly.

Anne the manager runs an orderly operation with courtesy and professionalism. Her leadership is clearly demonstrated through her staff! The hotel is in an excellent location and delivers outstanding service!
- 5/5
The rooms are not humongous, but this is a downtown city hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. There will be street noise so if that will bug you bring earplugs, again downtown city hotel. There is a very small rooftop bar with very limited hours, but the views are out of this world, so bring a hoodie and go check it out. The restaurant is delicious and incredibly convenient so enjoy a breakfast or dinner here. My family and I all agree that we would definitely stay here again. The location absolutely cannot be beat. The convenience of the partnership with a nearby parking garage was very useful. And again, the staff at this hotel are above and beyond individuals that make you feel well taken care of.

Good location Room is small
- 5/5
We loved the location, the restaurant/bar in place, and all the modern decor.
- 4/5
I would say the check in policy of 4pm was a bit inconvenient. The early check-in upcharges suggest that rooms were available, but we sat in the lobby for about 6 hours.
- 5/5
Location is spectacular for anyone wanting to explore downtown Seattle; rooftop views are gorgeous, overlooking Pikes Market and the Bay. Daily credits for their restaurant were great and the food/service there was excellent. We loved the Stste Hotel!
- 3/5
Room was small, though bathroom was roomy. We were on the 2nd floor corner so it was very noisy. The car traffic was not an issue but the 3 hour drum solo outside our window was. Hotel is very close to the market and harbor so the location is great. A shuttle to the pier was offered for $15 per person.
- 5/5
Room was always clean, staff was wonderful. Room service was convenient. And the location was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend.

Location Little pricey

Very clean room, Front desk staff were lovely!!

We fell in love with the location of this hotel! Minutes walk from pikes place market, the Seattle art museum, and the aquarium, you just can’t beat it. Not to mention, the staff was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations on where to eat. The room was clean and up to date with modern finishes. This is small, but I really liked that they had a hand soap dispenser instead of the bar soap you get at a lot of hotels. The food in the hotel restaurant was also good. Oh and the rooftop bar overlooks the water, and we were able to enjoy that over a drink (see picture). Safe to say, we really enjoyed our stay here. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

Leisure trip located near everything in Seattle. I will say a lot more hilly than I thought it would be. The service was perfect

Beautiful hotel. Shower was especially nice. Location was perfect. They scheduled a ride to the port for us. We arrived late (11 PM) due to flight delays and the door was locked but they quickly opened it and showed us to our room. The room was small but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had an hour or so before our shuttle in the morning so we were able to take a quick trip to Pike Place Market for a crepe due to the 2 minute walk. Overall a great stay. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had an excellent 2-day stay. The location, staff, rooftop, and decor are unbeatable.
- 4.5/5
Fantastic location, just around the corner from the Pike Place Market. Loved the design of the hotel, especially the beautiful and at the same time very traveler-practical room. Super comfortable bed, very quiet, even when facing the street, wonderful bathroom & shower. Lovely rooftop bar from 4 - 8pm, and the gorgeous wallpaper deserves a special shout-out as well. The glass doors that need to be manually opened / held open are very difficult to navigate with a cart full of bags. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room. The menu options at the Ben Paris restaurant are very limited and niche, would be nice to have some more mainstream / classic options.

This is a nice hotel and very convenient to the Pike Market and many other Seattle attractions. The room wasn't large but it was well maintained and the shower worked well.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and great location! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Close to everything
- 5/5
I had a very relaxing stay there. Since I needed to work from my room, having reliable Wi-Fi and a desk and chair was essential. I also went to a Mariners game, and the location was perfect—within walking distance of the stadium. I didn’t have a chance to try the restaurant or bar, but having coffee available in the morning was a great way to start the day.

The hotel is connected to a cute restaurant and has a calm vibe even though you’re in the city. I also don’t think you can beat this location
- 5/5
We stayed 4 nights and loved our stay. The location cannot be beat, one block away from Pike Place market and several restaurants and bars nearby. Convenient having the target across the street for any incidentals you may have forgotten. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at Ben Paris restaurant in the hotel, and everything was delicious and decently priced. The rooftop bar on the 8th floor was a nice place for views at sunset and cool when the bar itself was open. We rented a car our last two days and was able to park 1 block away at parking garage with no issues. We have no complaints and would definitely stay again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! This hotel is 2 blocks from Pike Place, which was great to be able to walk to. The rooms were clean and updated. Its about 1 mile from the train station. The location was clean and felt safe during the day for us two ladies. We loved our stay, would definitely recommend!

With a friendly staff and immaculate interior we began our stay at the State hotel. A comfortable bed and impressive breakfast at Ben Adams inside the hotel left us wanting to stay in this thoughtfully designed hotel again. Excellent experience!

Great location… Perfect hotel! Uniquely interesting…. Fun decor!
- 5/5
Had breakfast in the restaurant and loved it. Stuff was helpful and very nice. Great experience
- 5/5
Very pleased with our stay at the State hotel. Staff was amazing, room was quiet. Halls were very quiet. Restaurant is outstanding. Great location. Love that the entrances are room card locked for safety. A+++++++
- 5/5
Was lacking attention. Our fried chicken was under cooked which really soured our appetite.
- 5/5
The location was exceptional! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the hotel was very clean. It was also pretty quiet considering it's in such a busy area in the heart of pike place market and downtown.
- 5/5
The single best hotel experience I have ever had. Incredibly clean. Safe with locked entrances 24/7, helpful staff, perfect location. Can’t say a single poor thing about this establishment. 10/10
- 5/5

Noah at the reception desk was professional, friendly, and helpful. Our room had a great view of Pike Place Market. The bed was comfortable and the toiletries the hotel provided were top quality. We would gladly stay here again.

- 5/5
Lovely place and amazing location. Stay here!
- 5/5
We enjoyed The State Hotel for our stay in Seattle. It felt like it was a brand new hotel. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and the main attractions were all in walking distance. It was nice to have a restaurant right on the property to grab a bite before we headed out for the day. The view of Pike's Market from the outdoor area on floor 8 was a great one too!
- 5/5
We spent a good portion of our evenings at the bar, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. The bartender was pretty personable and the cocktails were excellent. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be visiting again.
- 5/5
Amazing location, views, staff and on property restaurant. Will stay again if in the area.

We didn’t have breakfast
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and very helpful. A great vibe overall. It was clean and nice and perfect walking distance to everything you’d want to do in the Pike Market area.
- 5/5
The experience at the State Hotel was exceptional. The room was very clean and nicely remodelled. The staff went out of their way to ensure I had what I needed. One staff member every brought me a bag of ice when she realized I was already back in my room and didn't realize I should pick it up at the front desk. I ate at Ben Paris for breakfast and dinner. Both meal were great and the service was top notch.

We stayed 4 nights in April and the service and quality were outstanding. “Drinking in the Rain” event on the rooftop was super fun. Great bed, great staff, and the location was perfect for wandering Pikes Market, taking in a hockey game, & visiting the aquarium and local museums.
- 5/5
It was nice
- 4/5
The staff were wonderful. The rooftop view was fabulous. The drinks on the rooftop were bad. The restaurant was excellent.
- 5/5
Property was safe, clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating during our stay. We were provided with a room upgrade with an amazing view of Pike’s Place Market. Free coffee in the morning was great. Brunch at Ben’s Paris was a highlight of our stay. 100% will return when in Seattle.
- 5/5
Amazing staff, perfect location, amazing vibe and quality of every item in the room.
- 4/5
Great stay: location is next to Pike Place Market, easy walking distance to restaurants, Seattle Centre, Monorail, shopping, movie theatres, etc. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is a reasonable size, modern and comfortable. Restaurant has delicious food, although the service is slow and inconsistent. I recommend the hotel!
- 4/5
This hotel was super cute! Loved the wallpaper and Seattle vibes.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful trip, loved the hotel! Friendly staff and just a beautiful unique interior design. The food from the restaurant was wonderful. My only initial dislike was there isn’t onsite parking but it’s a block away so honestly wasn’t even a big deal. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby!! We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Seattle! 10/10
- 5/5
Friendly service, cozy yet modern accommodations, excellent location, and a truly great restaurant on the premises. I'll be back.

- 5/5
The water view was amazing. The staff were excellent. It is very accessible to stores, shops, and the market across the street. I will be back!
- 5/5
Genuinely an amazing stay! We were able to check in two hours early and Noah was kind enough to upgrade our room to a city view for free as well! The house keeping staff were also helpful and kind enough to help bring my bags into the room. They were also quick to bring us anything we needed, including a whole microwave which was kind of silly. The location is amazing too, right next to pike public market and tons of places to eat and shop. The hotel also has great security measures with key only access into the front door and elevators. I’d 100% book this place again if I’m ever back in Seattle.
- 5/5
The rooftop terrace views are incredible! The location is glorious and the restaurant downstairs has the best potatoes we’ve ever had! We’ll be back!
- 5/5
Staff were very kind and the beds were extremely comfortable.
- 5/5
The only drawbacks were related to convenience. Early check-in wasn’t available, and it would be a great improvement if the hotel offered the discounted amenities (that they provided at check-in) or food/drink vouchers for guests waiting to check in. Also, the thermostat in the room was not adjustable, which made it difficult to get the temperature comfortable. Overall, a lovely hotel with a few small changes that could make the guest experience even better. Would still recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Sweet hotel, stunning views, easy park about 1.5 blocks away. Great location for shops and eats. Lovely staff.
- 5/5
The State Hotel was amazing! Love the decor, comfort, quiet, bar, and lobby! I'll be back for the wallpaper alone! Great location. Great drinks. Lovely bartender. Best front desk staff. Will be back!

Cool design of the rooms with the furniture.
- 5/5
Confortable bed, quiet rooms, decent restaurant and very nice staff. Thank you
- 4/5
Lovely water view. Great temperature control. NEED mirror in room. Not helpful to go into bathroom & close door to check if someone in bathroom or you are rushing out. NEED note on elevator button to tell guests #1 only goes down!

great staff, room was sparse but clean
- 5/5
Staff at registration were very nice, helpful, and efficient.
- 4/5
Room was nice but tiny. I was in a corner so maybe that was why it was so small. Front desk staff was friendly. Bar and restaurant closes at 8:00. We planned to have drink after coming back from dinner but it was closed. I had a lovely view of the market and location was very good.
- 5/5
Great location, wonderful staff!
- 5/5
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent hotel restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet, even though it is in a busy part of Seattle.

We truly enjoyed our stay at The State Hotel the Room was very clean and comfortable and the view from rooftop patio was amazing… The staff was amazing they were very friendly and welcoming from our late check in to our early check out they took care us the whole time we were there making sure we had everything we needed. Plus having Ben Paris down stairs was a bonus to our stay the food and drinks were very good and I would recommend checking them out if you stay here and even if you don’t and most importantly location was perfect walking distance to everything you can think of 1 block to pikes place market. Yes location is five stars. overall we loved our time here and we are already making plans to stay here again when we visit again next year.5stars

- 5/5
Very informative staff and lovely room
- 5/5
Breakfast was so tasty and had nice artisan choices! It felt elevated and the staff was amazing! Space was pretty too with great painted walls that was fun to look at.
- 4/5
not a big variety to choose from the breakfast menu.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and happy and accommodating. The room was super clean. And of course this location, you cannot beat it! Plus, it’s just a gorgeous hotel.
- 5/5
Our stay here was great!!! Walking distance to pet much everything .

- 5/5
good room
- 5/5
Nice boutique hotel
- 5/5
It’s a beautiful hotel that is right at Pike Street market with access to the Seattle waterfront. It’s within easy walking distance to the Fifth Avenue theater.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful and kind and very patient with me when I checked in yesterday. Even though I had issues with my bank account, they weren't judging me at all. The room was nice. Small, but nice for a single person room. They had a TV, a nice bed, and a nice bathroom, and a killer view of the ocean and the pier. The only thing that I found a bit off was the fact that the bathroom didn't have a fan and the shower didn't have a door I could close, but other than that, the hotel was really nice!
- 5/5
Very nice, lively hotel
- 5/5
It was excellent, had to cut trip short due my father passing away that Friday , so we were only charged 1 night . Staff was thoughtful and kind. We will have to come back to Seattle and stay with you all 🙏thank you
- 5/5
What bar? In my room? NONE
- 5/5
My recent stay at The State Hotel in downtown Seattle was exceptional. The proximity of the hotel to the market was so cool, plus tons of Seattle highlights within walking distance. The hotel interior has so much charm, the Ben Paris Cafe was tasty and convenient, and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. I would be elated to stay here again!!
- 2/5
Deceptive listing — I thought that breakfast came with the room. It didn’t. But the coffee in reception was good.
- 4/5
Clean quiet
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
Room was a little small but the location was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff super friendly and helpful & the location is perfect. The restaurant menu offered something for every taste.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay in the heart of the city ! Short distance to the open market!! Loved the city view. Only negative thing to say was the room was quite expensive for the small space, and no ice maker on our floor.
- 5/5
Easy walking location. Staff are wonderful
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
We really love this beautiful artistic boutique hotel. So close to everything the Seattle waterfront is known for. A few things that I would change; add a make up mirror in the bathroom and add more surface space in the bathroom for cosmetic and dop bags. There was a really high random shelf in the room that was completely out of reach and not useful for anything when any shelf space would have been a great addition. The Ben Paris restaurant on the main level is fabulous. Perfect for a nice breakfast before you’re heading out for the day. And also a really cool little rooftop bar with the best view of Puget sound on the planet. I would seriously recommend this hotel and would definitely go back. The staff is so wonderful and so friendly. It was a great addition to our stay.
- 3/5
Hotel location was great, central and close to Pike’s place market. Our stay at the property was fine, the restaurant attached was good and the staff were friendly. The water temperature in our room while taking a shower was luke warm at best so that part wasn’t enjoyable. I would consider other options when staying again.
- 4/5
Wanted $50 for our room extra because we were 25 minutes early. Transport driver was excellent. Great location only one block from market.
- 5/5
Room was clean and bed comfortable
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful
- 5/5
Great views
- 5/5
Accommodating, staff is helpful and friendly. Brunch at ben paris is a plus. Did not like the homeless crisis around the area, but other than that the experience was enjoyable.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful!
- 3/5
Best part is it’s near pikes
- 5/5
The staff was welcoming and very helpful.
- 5/5
Rooftop view was great!
- 4/5
Close to restaurants and market.
- 3/5
Great place, but very small room and bathroom.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel, comfortable rooms
- 5/5
Great amenities in the room, comfortable bed, quiet floor. We walked to Pikes Place and had dinner at Ben Paris. We would definitely stay here again!!
- 5/5
Friendly, efficient, helpful front desk staff. Room was clean and well stocked.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and the room was always cleaned daily. Rooftop terrace provided a nice view. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
My new favorite hotel
- 5/5
Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location overlooking Pike Place Market. The staff is what really elevated the experience: Dixie welcomed us riffraff with a huge smile and great info, and Dani, the rooftop bartender extraordinaire, held it down and made us feel special despite the fact that the rooftop was pretty busy since a promotional shoot was being done.
- 4/5
Stay away from Third and Pike Street!
- 3/5
I would have expected a good view vs just the air conditioning equipment. The room was humid & stuffy but we were there only one night, so didn’t ask to change rooms. Great location but pricey for the room we had
- 5/5
Really great location, minutes walking to Public Market. And had no issues with hearing any outside noises while sleeping. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean. The hotel as a whole was clean and obviously well taken care of. I also loved the rooftop terrace. The staff was excellent, very nice & accommodating. I would most definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Our room was clean and overall great ! The staff were helpful and friendly and we were able to see our parked car from our window so that was a plus ! And the view from the rooftop was beautiful at night.
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back
- 4/5
Overall, had a great experience. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the pillows. One pillow was completely flat, and the other was clumpy and uncomfortable. The bed was fine, a little stiffer than I like but it was good enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. Did appreciate the dinning tokens. I was staying in the room with a water view, but it was a small window that was right next to the desk and not easy to view out of. In the future I will opt for the other view if it ends up being cheaper as it didn't add any value to my stay.
- 5/5
Such a cool hotel and great staff. Can't beat the location to Pike Place Market! The only thing to keep in mind is their is off site parking. It would be super helpful if they would email the parking link with instructions before you check in instead of the current system they have now.
- 5/5
I noticed that the bathrooms had no shower ventilation...the bathroom got very steamy after a shower.
- 1/5
Didn't check in. Front desk supervisor is so rude. They wouldn't work with my situation at all and now I'm out almost $900 because I fo not have a credit card and the Didn't send pre registration info until it was to late to cancel.
- 5/5
Great place to stay the security is good. The service in the restaurant for brunch was great!! Awesome bartender. The bed and room was nice and relaxing the ac took a moment to kick in. Paying for parking off site was probably my only thing I just wasn't too fond of. Pikes place is steps away though which is amazing !!
- 5/5
Great location for exploring downtown Seattle! The staff was excellent, bar and restaurant were great and rooms were very clean.
- 5/5
Everyone here from the check in to the check out was very friendly and welcoming. The king bed was super comfortable and the walk in rainfall shower was a reprieve from a long day. The restaurant and all the staff were awesome as well. Great seafood dinner and nice breakfast. Location is perfect for your time in Seattle. Book the room with the view of the bay.

We loved the State. We had a great time in Seattle.

A couple of minor gripes: 1) the in room coffee is pretty lame 2) the bathroom could use a couple of towel racks 3) charging $8 for a water bottle is ridiculous A couple of positives: 1) the hotel staff was great! Helpful and affable 2) the hotel restaurant has a great breakfast and the staff there is great. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return if Seattle is again our destination.

Excellent place to stay, we wanted to be close to pikes market and it was just a block down. Highly recommended

This is a great hotel within walking distance of the market and the pier attractions. There are rentable bikes/scooters to get to further areas of the city or the mono-rail (also walkable if you prefer). The room was great, clean, and comfortable, and the staff all around were very helpful. Be warned that there is a $100/day hold that will be applied when you check in, and a $25/day amenity fee that will be billed on check-out, which isn't very clear when booking through Expedia. The Restaurant is very good (though slightly expensive, but in line with other dining in the area). There is a Target next door if you need to purchase anything, and the front desk has some every day items if you are in a bind.

recommended by family members for close proximity to the water front and tourist attractions (and a Target nearby). Everything we wanted to see was walking distance>
- 5/5
The parking is another thing. $28.50 for 24 hours, and it is across the road and down about a block. Not sure how you would get to your rig at night if you wanted to. The location is what it is all about.

Great location near Pike’s Place and conveniently across from the downtown Target. Ben Paris is a great restaurant and the hotel gives you a discount. The rooms are stylish, comfortable and clean. The decor in the hotel and restaurant is so fun - especially the wallpaper! The cons are minor but still frustrating: The “free WiFi” doesn’t work which means you can’t stream your services on the TV. The TV has limited cable and the menu is completely wrong. The public WiFi they offer is riddled with piracy and privacy issues. If you’re here to see the downtown sites and dine at the restaurant in the hotel- outstanding. If you’re trying to relax and unwind in your room- pick somewhere else.

Horrible service. Room was underwhelming. Rooftop bar didn't have the drinks on the menu and no music.

Room and bed was very comfortable.

Don’t bother with booking the top restaurants because these little ones are just as good and serve fresh food. Bed comfort was good and clean room

Needed a place to stay for one night before hopping on a cruise to Alaska. Didn’t know anything about this hotel but what a gem! Love how it is decorated and all the information about the artwork. The door knob wall in the lobby area was a pleasant surprise. The staff was really friendly and proactively asked us if we needed a ride to the cruise, which we did! They set it up for us and it was very easy great location close to public market. There was a target across the street where were you able to get some supplies that was very convenient. We walked to the Montrail stop and took it to the space needle area.

This hotel is in an excellent location. Walkable to many Seattle attractions. The hotel charges an amenity fee, $25, which only gives discounts to nearby services, no amenities. There was a 30 min. wait for the restaurant, no breakfast room service available, so we couldn’t use our amenity discount. There is a rooftop that has a great view, apparently, but it is closed most of the day and not accessible. Our room was nice, but we were placed on the third floor with a view of a brick wall. The hotel is in a great location, there is no going out of the way for customer satisfaction however.

We enjoyed our room even though we were there early and told we would not get a room by the elevator but still did.. it was a very quiet room and very clean and still enjoyable so it worked out. We really liked the rooftop bar as well!

A gem of a hotel! Everything went smoothly, staff were amazing and the room was so nice! Very clean and quaint, and a view of the Market and ocean. Loved that it was in walking distance of Lumen Field, where we were attending an event. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the State hotel for just one night, but definitely would’ve stayed longer if we could. Paul (I think that was his name - great fashion taste) at the front was amazing. Super personable and friendly - the woman who worked the overnight shift was also super helpful and sweet. The lobby was super cool. I expected less honestly but all expectations were blown away. Only thing (nothing to do with the hotel at all) is that there weren’t any late night (10/11pm) eats so if you want food make sure to get it before and keep it in your room! We also had a drink on their rooftop bar which was AMAZING and the bartender was such an amazing guy - very personable. 11/10 would recommend

Best hotel that we have. Stayed at in Seattle

The rooftop views at this hotel were stunning! The art in the room and the wallpaper in the halls was beautiful (which was inspired by wares you'd find in pike place). Wish we had the energy to work out in the gym

Everything was great! Clean, friendly, safe! They even lock the front door and you need to key in for safety reasons. They have thought of everything! Can’t wait to go back! Love the “coin “ for the restaurant. Nice touch. Enjoyed it.

This was an amazing hotel. It was beautiful. The staff was amazing. They held our bags for us ( we arrived from our flight at 9:30am to the hotel). Pikes Place was across the street, walked to the original Starbucks for coffee and walked to the Space Needle as well. Plenty to places to shop, drink and dine right next the hotel.

We stayed over one night in Seattle during a 9 day roadtrip. My wife was trying to grab a cool boutique Swanky place. She booked a "no view" room thinking it meant it wasn't really noteworthy but it was actually a window to a brick wall that opened out the top to the outside. It made the room feel extremely small and tight. The amenities were not bad, the bed wasn't great but it was super clean and it might've just been my preference. The girl checking in was super cool and friendly but no valet and the chaos a block from the Public Market was not cool. Had to use an app to buy parking down the block, drive there, and walk back. For an upscale place, I'd think valet would be worthwhile. We also did a Mariners game that ended early but even so, everything in the hotel was pretty much shut down by 9 something when we returned. We would've liked to have checked out the rooftop bar but it was a super early close. We ate brunch the next day and the food was really pretty good. Our friends from the area also said the chef's choice dinner is to die for. For some of the bad, outside the window to the wall, we had pigeons that were loud like you could not believe. I think mama pigeon took up residency and she was a moody, loud, b$&*%. The window was also completely covered in bird poop. I don't blame the hotel for a pigeon but it was loud and they were aware of it when I mentioned at the front desk. Good place, some limitations, great staff, would maybe try again.

The staff and manager were very accommodating, friendly, and caring. The staff had great suggestions as to where to go, and what to do. We were able to have first class service and food within the same building.

We looooved the fun little treats the hotel offered - from the gum in the lobby to the saltwater taffy to the comfy robes in the rooms :) the rooftop hang out area was also awesome

The State Hotel was the perfect stay for us on our 1st trip to Seattle. Clean, comfortable, amazing views, and very accommodating! Would stay again!

When I got back from the dinner and show I put my pajamas on and watched a little tv and conked out for the first time in years! I usually have a hard time getting to sleep, but i don't even think i dreamed. The bed was soft, and the pillows were too. I can't think of anything to complain about and im usually a complainer!

The rooftop was smaller than expected and prices were higher than they probably should’ve been but all around great hotel stay. Super convenient location with Pike Place literally around the corner

Service was good, room was nice, although area the hotel is in is so dirty and unsafe that the hotel door is permanently locked and need to buzz in. Also all amenities at hotel close at 8pm which is pretty lame.

We had a fantastic stay at The State. We liked the decor and the Ben Paris restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was excellent and gave us a great recommendation for an authentic Italian dinner. Being so close to Pike’s Place Market is a bonus. We will definitely be back to stay at The State Hotel.

Was excellent location. Great amenities. Staff was pretty friendly. Only wish was for a fan in bath for showering. Over all would recommend and would stay again.

Hotel was convenient to the waterfront-very comfortable. Just be careful when checking in-leave someone in the car -they will tow you, no questions asked if longer than 1 or 3 minutes depending on where you are….
