Reviews
The hotel is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, it is criticized for its lack of air conditioning, poor Wi-Fi, and outdated facilities. The location is generally seen as convenient, particularly for those visiting the hospital, but parking can be an issue.
- Cleanliness
- Comfortable beds
- Lack of air conditioning
- Poor Wi-Fi

Staff and the room were excellent. I was able to extend my stay at the last minute and they were able to accommodate.
- 5/5
Great location, older room but very clean and comfortable!
- 4/5
Definitely older hotel, not sure for the price I would stay there
- 5/5
Roomy rooms. I will stay there again.
- 3/5
This property is stuck in the 90s. No HD tv, big room 506, tight bathroom. Room was clean and quiet. Furniture was a bit beat up. One night only and good for the price in Seattle.
- 5/5
The ambiance of a gentler time is reflected in the room and the help of the staff was very pleasant.
- 4/5
This is a very cozy hotel tucked away on a quiet city street. It has a very charming atmosphere as the building itself is obviously antique. The view from my room window was not impressive; it overlooked a hospital wing from the neighboring Virginia Mason hospital. The room itself was dated, but clean and functional and quiet! There was plenty of closet space, but there was no safe for valuables. Hallways were dark and a bit narrow and a vending machine was only on the ground floor. (The building has 9 floors!). The Rho Cafe adjacent to the front lobby had an adequate offering of very tasty food items and (coffee) drinks but service was a bit on the slow side. The roof terrace offered great views, but there is no food service of any kind. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pros definitely outweigh the cons in my opinion and I would book it again if my travels brought me to Seattle.
- 5/5
clean, but toilet set was not attached properly.
- 4/5
The front desk staff at the Inn at Virginia Mason is incredible as are the folks that work at the restaurant in the Inn.
- 2/5
Absolutely not what they say on website. The Cafe is not good and overpriced. The staff wanted to visit with each other rather than help you. The roof top has a great view but that's it. The downstairs atrium is very nice as well as the common rooms. The room was clean but you cant take a bath because the tubs have no stoppers and the window unit ac is very loud. Seriously overpriced hotel for what they offer. I've had a better stay at a motel 6
- 4/5
It is a safe area with restaurants nearby. As well as a quick service one in the hotel. We will stay there again
- 5/5
Staff were super friendly. Loved the brick patio. Close to good coffee and pastries. Leafy, quiet, and walkable neighborhood. We enjoyed extended strolls to Capitol Hill, Pike Place Market, and Seattle Center. We're already looking forward to our next stay!
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
Good location and decent value
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay and was able to see the sights of Seattle

- 5/5
This place was an adorable old space. It reminded me of an old European hotel
- 4/5
Some of the front desk staff were fantastic but others seemed unhappy to be there. The Internet was pretty bad. Same as when we stayed there twice in the last 5 years. Definitely needs an bandwidth upgrade!
- 5/5
We had a junior suite, this provided a spacious room for our family of with adult son. Staff was very pleasant and breakfast from deli was a good start to our day. Thank you.
- 5/5
Everyone was very nice and helpful. Parking isn't cool, but it's a Seattle thing. We were lucky enough to have air conditioning. The bar and food was good. Very nice outside patio to sit in. Very close to the hospital was great since mother in law was in for surgery.
- 5/5
It was warm but there were fans.
- 5/5
How it was kept and the beautiful historical building and how it was kept to it’s original condition. Nothing , all good !!
- 4/5
Clean and safe connected to the hospital
- 4/5
The curtains in room 805 are not sized right if you use the air conditioner. They hang down over the AC - so either the curtains are closed at night covering the AC or they are open if the AC is on - and then the hospital lights come right in the room. That was very unsatisfactory for 3 nights. I tried mentioning to an evening staff person and the only reply was "I am sorry".
- 4/5
We have stayed at the Inn at Virginia Mason multiple times because it’s so convenient to the hospital. As a frequent out of town patient, having a room here has become a gift! There is no onsite parking. I recommend parking in the Bucks Pavilion Parking Garage at the bottom of the hill. It’s open 24 hours and the same $ as the open lot. In the warmer months, be aware that the Inn does not have AC (common for in downtown Seattle). They have provided fans as a courtesy in the rooms we have stayed in which has always worked for us. The mini fridge, coffee maker, room size, location and cleanliness make up for the AC in our eyes.
- 2/5
Trying to get grab and go breakfast only to be told there wasn't any after waiting 20 minutes in coffee line. Loud music with nigh club atmosphere at 6:30am. So out of place - expected a quieter, more peaceful ambiance.
- 2/5
For the price we paid, it was good enough. Location is great, 15 minutes' nice walk to the center of Seattle, the Aquarium, Pike Place Market, main tourist areas, and we felt safe. The amenities are outdated, there is no AC in the rooms, and we had to open the windows, but we didn't notice any loud noise. The hotel is very old, but well accommodated.
- 5/5
The only issue was our mini fridge did not operate properly. Even at its coolest setting it didn’t keep our items cold. Small inconvenience but not a major problem. The staff were friendly and professional. We will definitely continue staying at this hotel. Keep up the great work!
- 5/5
I just love this place. No free breakfast is too bad, but it's reasonable priced for Seattle and it's in a great area. I especially like the quietness of the place overall. There's a great rooftop terrace and a really nice outside sitting area in the lobby. I will always stay here when visiting Seattle.
- 4/5
Close to Harborview hospital.
- 5/5
Location for hospital
- 5/5
Very close to VM Hospital. Great food. Wonderful staff. The toilet was not ADA height but few hotels, etc have them.
- 4/5
Very old but comfortable and clean. Is basically attached to a hospital and our view was just the hospital. Restaurant was supposed to be open but wasn’t so we had to hike a bit in the rain for food. We were able to check in early which was nice.
- 5/5
Had a lovely stay at the Virginia Mason in Seattle. The building is a little older but it has character and was kept very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly as well. The location was perfect for us to take a 10 minute walk to the convention center easily. You do have to park a block or two away but it wasn't an issue for us. I would definitely consider staying again.
- 5/5
Very comfortable, the room gets warm though and had to leave the window open and a fan on. No AC
- 4/5
Clean room, speedy service, easy location.
- 5/5
Clean, good elevator. Parking challenging. Steep hill walk from parking.
- 3/5
Overall a comfortable and convenient stay for appointments at Virginia Mason. Love the courtyard and the historic architecture. The main drawback was a noisy mini fridge that disturbed our sleep and froze our fruits and veggies.
- 4.5/5
The proximity to the hospital is the biggest plus!! We have felt so taken care of at both the hospital and the Inn. The Internet availability is terrible. But that doesn’t detract from the Inn.
- 4/5
Bed was uncomfortable but adequate
- 2/5
This hotel is not ADA compliant in the rooms. After having to shuffle between rooms to find one a wheelchair wound even fit through the bathroom door, we were upgraded to a queen suite. While the bathroom was ADA bar equiped for toilet and bath, the bed was roo high to get the disabled person onto it, so they had to sleep on the loveseat We cut our stay short and left.
- 5/5
The stay was perfect, incredibly convenient for my outpatient surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center.A staff member pushed me in a hotel wheelchair through an interior elevator all the way to my hospital check in station, avoiding the rain & snow outside, Thank you so much.
- 5/5
Great place to be if you have hospital appointments.
- 4/5
We stay at the Inn whenever we have appointments at Virginia Mason Hospital. Very convenient, friendly staff, clean but old with character. There are a variety of cafes and eateries within walking distance.
- 4/5
It is a cute place. Clean and simple. Internet was weak and inaccessible. Tv old and dated
- 4/5
A crack in bathroom sink with sharp edges; almost cut my hand.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful. Friendly and effecient.
- 4/5
The lobby and cafe decor has a very charming and cozy atmosphere. The room had the same vibe. The cafe offers good food and drink options.
- 5/5
Nice staff, clean spacious room. A little noisy but being attached to a hospital you have to expect some ambulance sounds at times but not too bad. Stayed on the 4th floor. The downstairs restaurant is cosy and friendly.
- 5/5
Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful facility. Our room was fresh and clean and all staff members were friendly, caring and professional. Keep up the excellent service!
- 2/5
No sheets for crib, cannot order room service from restaurant or call in order, problems with accessible entrances
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff is very helpful. Dominic and Keegan are gems. The rooms are clean. The cafe is small but good. The cafe/bar staff are friendly and great at making guests feel welcome. Very convenient to access Virginia Mason hospital. There is an elevator that connects the two.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Greeted with a smile when I walked in. Room was exactly what I needed. Glad there was a fab in the room since it was a bit warm for my Alaska taste. It’s so convenient to have the hotel on site when you have early morning Dr appointments
- 4/5
Yes clean, friendly helpful staff
- 4/5
Quiet!
- 4/5
The price point was good Room backed on to the next door hospital generators, really loud
- 4/5
Staff very friendly and rooms clean.
- 5/5
It's an older hotel but well maintained. My wife and I had a great time.
- 4/5
While the room was older and show some wear, it was clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic - especially the housekeeping staff on our floor.
- 0.5/5
There were cockroaches in the bathroom. We took pictures of them . You house cleaner went through my luggage and my makeup bag and stole my diamonds earrings., and my diamond necklace. We,called your manager and told him. We,want my jewelry back. Housekeeping took my jewelry!!! ?then we got a call from your manager so they found my jewelry It was in lost & found. !!this is Terrible!! They went through my luggage. Which was zipped up!
- 1/5
None No breakfast included, the room was nothing like picture, loud buzzing sound all night, room temp was way too hot, room was from 1920's,hard bed hard pillows
- 4/5
The staff members were outstanding and made me feel at ease and my room was fresh, clean and comfortable!
- 4/5
The Inn is worn, but very clean. We were able to trust the presurgery cleanliness so we weren’t bring anything with us into the hospital. Quiet, friendly.
- 3/5
Staff were helpful and pleasant. Parking was hard to find
- 3.5/5
Location was amazing It was cold in there!
- 4/5
Parking was not convenient.
- 4/5
The staff at the check-in desk was excellent young man. Very helpful. The room was very clean. The bed was too soft for us. we only got one had towel tho. It would have been nice to have two.
- 5/5
Yes, yes, and yes.
- 2/5
The hotel management doesn’t seem to be very bright and/or capable of understanding the customer service issues this (temp) situ creates. Although desk staff was very sympathetic. This isn’t a typical inn. This is where family members of people under VM care who may have very serious health issues come to be with and assist their loved ones. Given that, this Inn check in experience is not in the slightest way acceptable. If you are in a service role, then serve. Otherwise, find another job. And next time, I’ll find another hotel.
- 3/5
All was good.
- 3/5
Under construction room too small hallway was small gloomy
- 5/5
Parking was difficult to find.
- 4/5
During this visit, the front entry was closed off, so entry is from an obscure side door. Kind of inconvenient. Also, from our room on the 4th floor there was no wifi access, so if you hope to get some work done while here, use your own hotspot. The gentleman at the front desk wasn't helpful with that issue. He just said, "the wifi isn't good here. You can go to the hospital and use their wifi if needed. " being that it's 2025 and the age of AI and robotics, that's a pretty lame thing not to have wifi for your guests. This is a very old building that has had some upgrades but could really shine if proper money was put into remodeling the rooms. However, the beds are extremely comfortable! You will sleep well a long as not too many ambulances drive by full sirens. All that to stay, even with some negatives it is very convenient and a pleasant stay. We keep coming back for the easy and convenient access to the hospital.
- 5/5
Perfect location since I was having surgery at the hospital. Staff was friendly, room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- 1/5
Thy never give back the 100$ for the security holding. And they said they would return after checkout
- 4/5
Room was clean, beds were nice. Bathroom was old but clean. Construction on the front was happening so you had to go through the side doors by the ER.
- 5/5
Pleasant, old world feel.
- 3/5
YEs it was spotlessly clean and staff were polite and helpful.
- 3/5
Overall, the staff was courteous and efficient, however having to snake my way througj hospital entrances (closed on weekends) proved a factor of dissatisfaction.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Nice historic hotel. I appreciated them keeping the style older too. Beautiful little spot. Lots of choices for dining too
- 4.5/5
Went to a medical appointment at VM and it is very convenient to stay at the Inn. Walked around downtown, shopped, went sightseeing and ate at a restaurant. Very enjoyable.
- 5/5
They didn't bother me
- 4.5/5
The hotel was a quaint building. Not fancy but very comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Nothing
- 5/5
Great location and overall very good spot to stay at.
- 3/5
Could not find the front door (uber eats could not find it either). No one answered the phone when I tried to call to find the front door. At check in he said I had to do a required deposit, unknown what that amount was but I was charged $121 for someone else's bill. Had to call several days later to get it refunded back to my card. Said the cafe would be open on Sunday morning for food and it was not. Had a hard time getting the tv off of the settings mode, bathtub needs safety pads, my husband almost fell cause the tub got soapy and slick and the bottom of the tub is not flat it is rounded. Said check out was at 12pm and housekeeping knocked before that. Room lighting was very dim. It was not worth the price I paid just to stay to visit my brother in the hospital next door. Probably will not stay here again. I understand this hotel is old, but the tub safety should be a priority as the side of tub is a good 12+" to lift your legs over to get in.
- 3/5
It does appear that some of the rooms had been updated but I got one of the older ones. Parking is a short distance away, be prepared to lug your bags to check in/out as construction fences block the entrance.
- 4/5
Got a noise complaint watching tv
- 3/5
Proximity to waterfront Parking was awful
- 5/5
Staff and restaurant were excellent!
- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
The check in process was terrible. We booked a room with two Queens. After waiting for 45 mins we ere told they overbooked and we were told we had a room with one queen bed and they would bring in a roller foldout bed. NOT GOOD! They did advise we would be compensated for the mix up. They were good for that.
- 2/5
Couldn’t get into the hotel they were doing construction and were untold. Had to go through hospital that hotel was attached to. Very unhappy for a 320.00 $ room and extra 25 for parking. Smoke alarm kept beeping at night.
- 3.5/5
Parking & not validated
- 5/5
Staff was excellent in all aspects, no hassle check in, everything was orderly, efficient and calm. I will definitely stay there in the future.
- 4/5
Older hotel, but the proximity to the hospital is a definite plus.
- 2/5
No parking
- 1/5
They say no AC but what they mean is the heater is running and you can’t control it. It was 55° outside and 80° in the room. We opened windows and after 45 minutes nothing had changed. We had to leave and get another room
- 2/5
Was not informed the property was underconsruction or if the front door was unsafe and rope off.No on site parking. Had to walk up a very steep hill after a 2 block walk after finding parking. Very old room with full size beds not queens. Bath was old eith a very narrow layout. The pictures from their site are not updated. Alot of noise from hospital next door.
- 4/5
The hotel was old, it was also fo
- 0.5/5
Dingy, old, and badly in need of an update. I thought being attached to a hospital, it would be a welcome respite for those needing lodging while caring for a hospitalized loved one. Nope. The elevators are old, the rooms are dingy with old and broken furniture, and I had to wait 2 days for the cable TV in my room to be fixed. I would not recommend.
- 5/5
It’s an older property inside the city. Very nice neighborhood located close to multiple hospital locations. Rooms are updated. The bed is comfortable. Provide fans since there is no air conditioning option in the room.
- 3/5
Room was warm and although they had a fan and the windows could open, it was loud because of the hospital compressors on the other building.
- 3/5
Even with outside temperature in the mid 50s the room was 80 degrees. I knew no air conditioning. The windows only crack open a few inches and I put the fan provided sucking cool air in the bathroom and opened the bedroom windows but never got the room cooled overnight.
- 4/5
Convenience for hospital Room 605 was noisy from outside hospital equipment
- 5/5
Excellent spot. Went for the Seahawks game; spent 2 nights, no complaints
- 5/5
It’s definitely a bit on the older side as a hotel BUT it’s cheap and super convenient. Perfect for a quick stay where you spend a lot of time away in the city
- 5/5
The Rho cafe is a great little place in the lobby, with a modest but delicious food selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; the staff is very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Hotel was under construction so entry was only by side door, however that was no the issue, the issue was that the lighting in the room was by lamps which left the room dark and dingy and there was no appropriate fans, fans were cheap plastic portable ones which were noisy.
- 5/5
We don't go on vaccination to stay in the hotel so this place was perfect. The Inn is close to everything we needed or wanted to do. The rooms are clean and the staff is great. We loved waking up and having a conviniet yummy breakfast with mimosas too!
- 5/5
Big spacious room and bathroom.
- 5/5
Safe and super friendly!
- 1/5
THE WORST HOTEL EVER. IT SHOULD BE CLOSED. IT SHOULD NOT BE OPEN FOR PUBLIC.
- 4/5
Staff were great. The room was outdated but it was ok for one night stay. No AC made it a little warmer than I would like but they do have two box fans that if you put in the window bring in some cool air. My biggest complaint would have to be the parking. Absolutely none available but if you are using Uber then no problem. Overall it was a cute hotel with friendly staff. Great bartender.
- 1/5
No A/C, dirty carpet, old property
- 3/5
The location of the hotel was near attractions but the condition of it did not look like the photos provided. Staff were helpful and respectful. I found it inconvenient that closest parking was down a hill. Their seemed to be a lack of a secure space due to anyone being able to enter through the side of the hotel freely. The front entrance was gated off.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
When we arrived at night, the front of the hotel was completely closed off and fenced, making it very difficult to find the entrance. We eventually had to go through the hospital emergency area just to get inside. Once there, the vending machines were out of order and not even water was available, so we had to order Uber Eats. The room itself was uncomfortable—the temperature was terrible, the bathroom door didn’t close, and the shower head sprayed water everywhere. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
- 4/5
The first room assignment had not been cleaned. But staff was happy to upgrade our room and the new room was perfect. Easy on and off for public transportation. Parking is an issue
- 2/5
Front entrance was fenced off with no signage as to where the temporary entrance was. I thought they had closed down. Check in was quick, but we were given no information about anything from the front desk attendant. I needed to get my room key programmed a total of 3 times, but needed to go to the front desk a couple extra times to address it. We requested 3 separate times for our room to be serviced with housekeeping showing up not even once to service the room. I was later told they service the rooms every 3 days; it did NOT happen. The AC either doesn't exist or did not work. The room lighting needs to be improved as it's dark when sitting at the little table in the room. The door separating the room from the next allows a lot of noise to flow through. The tub drain was clogged. The bathroom window was missing its screen. As for the immediate area surrounding the hotel; we were violently yelled at several times by homeless individuals. One of which got very close to becoming physical. I'd recommend staying here at your own risk.
- 3/5
However, after being granted a late check out, my key card could not access entrance to the hotel or my room. The room was clean, but out dated and over priced.
- 3/5
Rooms could have been cleaner, it was under construction. Would have been good to know ahead of time
- 4/5
My partner and me only stayed one night so we did not get to enjoyed the place too much. The inside of the property was very cozy it has a nice lounge area, a bar-cafeteria, a nice patio area to sit beside the bar. Our room was big and clean. Since the place is under construction it was surrounded by a link fence and the entrance was not clearly shown. I did not mind that there wasn't air condition in the room since we were provided with fans but my partner was not too happy.
- 3/5
Old building and the rooms are small. I was aggressively attacked in my car by a psychotic man as I tried to pull in my first night and had to drive away before returning an hour later to finally check in. The rest of my stay was fine.
- 3/5
Old hotel that does have some charm.
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction. This was not stated on the Expedia App.
- 3/5
They gave my husband a room that was already occupied.
- 1/5
This old hotel was part of the hospital and our view was into sick people‘s rooms. It smelled bad. The refrigerator barely kept my water cold. I would never stay here. The place across the street,The Sorrento was beautiful and it was cheaper and I’m really sorry I didn’t know that beforehand. We couldn’t even go in the front door because it was closed and we had to figure out how to go through the hospital to get to this hotel. It was ugly and old and I would never stay there on purpose if I knew what it was like.
- 2/5
It’s a hotel with a closed off main entrance; you had to use a side, inconvenient entrance to go in and out. Almost nonexistent facilities for food-a one-person operation with less than ideal service. Our room on 7th floor had no WiFi connection. Overall, a not so-pleasant experience.
- 4/5
Rooms too hot, no washcloths, other then that great
- 5/5
It is well worn, but everything worked and was comfortable. There is no air-conditioning, but that is hardly ever an issue in the northwest. The restaurant in the lobby has a modest menu, but excellent food! All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- 2/5
There was also a constant, loud hum even when the windows were closed. The front staff was fine, cordial but not super friendly. Overall the stay was ... A stay. Nothing special, super mediocre and a rather bad price/value ratio.
- 5/5
Nice facilities. Good food at the recently opened restaurant. Great location.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Please install AC units in the rooms only recommendations.
- 1/5
The room originally received did not have AC. I ask for another room which the conceirge accompanied. The 2nd room was filled with paint carts and ladders. 3rd room had leak in bathroom and mold on the piping by the window.
- 3/5
Staff was amazing. The property was connected to a hospital so it’s a little noisy with outdated rooms. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill. It was good over all but can improve tremendously with some updates.
- 4/5
Unique property with vintage atmosphere. Room on backside was noisy with hospital equipment quite loud so unable to leave windows open for ventilation. Hospital surrounds hotel on 3 sides. No a/c and no fans in room made it a little muggy and warm. Unlikely to stay again with no a/c.
- 3/5
Food very poor
- 2/5
Also, the internet was terrible.
- 5/5
Great cafe food and staff. Cons. Parking is expensive, although very convenient
- 5/5
Booked for my elderly parents. They enjoyed their stay. No complaints.
- 3/5
The girl at the front needs to learn to speak up and be a lot more friendly.
- 4/5
It was really hard to get into the hotel because there’s a gate around it. It’s old and you’re in between a hospital which makes a fan noise 24 seven,so if you like a constant buzz, it’s fine if you sleep with your plugs, it’s not. I booked it because they had a beautiful balcony and I yet to seen it on the property.
- 5/5
A/C or free parking would be nice
- 2/5
Room was quite noisy overlooking HVAC system from hospital. No AC in room on a hot day.
- 2/5
Front door entrance was blocked off and there was no signage telling you where to enter. When located, it was a side door, off an alley, that was propped open 24 hours. No air conditioning (which was stated in the confirmation email). One window didn’t open, other only opened 3”. Fans were provided.
- 5/5
All is said
- 4/5
I think the staff were amazing. A little constructiin was a minor inconvenience. The price was right for what we paid for.
- 3/5
Dated.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
It was beautiful and all worker's super nice the place i loved the older look
- 5/5
Accessibility to hospital was the main reason we stayed here. Incredibly no USB plugs in the room so had to go down to the bar area to plug in my phone.
- 3/5
There was construction all around hotel entrance and it was difficult to find entrance. Front desk area unappealing, staff not too friendly. I was using a walker as I had broken my hip and no one even offered to help me with my suitcase. Room was clean and well equipped with fridge, microwave and Keurig-type coffee maker. there were grab bars in toilet and tub for washing. Room was very noisy with some kind of a generator outside my window all night. No Air conditioning, clearly posted, was inconvenient, but there was a fan. All in all, I will stay somewhere else next visit.
- 2/5
For a one night stay you can’t argue with the price. Just keep in mind this is a hospital hotel so it’s nothing special lol
- 3/5
Really old. NO AC. Afternoon desk clerk was 0 help. Toilet leaks onto floor. No parking validation. Afternoon bartender was great.
- 5/5
Charming antique decor, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with lots of water pressure! Great coffee shop/cafe in the lobby area on the 1st floor.
- 3/5
They made an error creating my card key The place was extremely old and the air flow in the lobby was horrible Staff was extremely friendly Toilet also didn't flush properly
- 5/5
Hotel was older but it was clean, comfortable and safe.
- 2/5
The main entrance was blocked, and the hotel did not communicate an alternate entrance. A couple of paper signs are hanging, but it was unclear where to enter. It's an old hotel, so the rooms are extremely outdated, which was expected. Additionally, the hotel sat in the middle of a hospital. That info was left out of most reviews of this hotel. The back side room windows overlook patients' rooms. So we could not open our window, which is needed since there's no air conditioning. One nice thing is that the cafe staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and our stay was very comfortable.
- 4/5
Very nice and comfortable….just no AC.
- 4/5
The hotel does not have air conditioning. Thankfully we were able to get a fan. It's almost 100 years old so you have to accommodate for the age.
- 3/5
Bathroom was really not user frienly for 3 travelers
- 5/5
Loved our stay!
- 2/5
The noise coming from the Virginia Mason hospital next door is almost unbearable. There is no way to reduce the noise whether you close all the windows and doors, and it’s nonstop.

Two things to keep in mind, 1) they don’t have room service.. 2) no AC (it was hot in August) Otherwise a nice hotel, I would go there again
- 2/5
We stayed for one night and the hotel was nice enough and seemed clean enough, just dated. My one complaint was that there was no AC and it was unbearably hot in the room.

Air conditioning and improved elevator access would be welcomed.

Very nice on a old building..breakfast was great and the lady at the restaurant was amazing
- 3/5
The staff was great, the property was not. Room was very hot and had no ac to be able to cool down the room. It's a very old building and you can tell it hasn't been updated since 1973

Staff is polite and helpful. Room was clean with unworn carpeting. My room did not have A/C. I stayed in August. It was unseasonably cool but I had to keep the windows open so the room would not be hot and stuffy. There is a piece of ventilation equipment on an adjacent property that makes a constant very loud growling noise all day and all night. This is an old building with some nice touches like marble thresholds on the room to hallway door. Also, my closet was quite large. OTOH, the plumbing and electricity are a retrofit in my room and no attempt was made to hide pipes and wire conduits. One of the electrical wall outlets had come loose from the wall and was dangling by its wires (I didn't notice this until I was leaving). I wouldn't stay here again in summer due to lack of A/C and noise when the windows are open. I don't think this hotel has sufficient value for the price in summer. It is really convenient if you're supporting a patient in the Virginia Mason hospital next door. Less so if you are in Seattle for an event at the Seattle Convention Center due to the elevation change between that venue and hotel.

The stay was fantastic, the clerk service was more than what I expected, and the room was overall comfortable. My only issue was the air conditioner at our room was seemingly out of commission, as it was active but not really working. Otherwise, it was amazing.
- 3/5
Toliet was not cleaned when we arrived to our room. Lobby and restaurant were great. No AC was tough as opening windows all you hear is vents to the hospital.

I don't usually complain, but this might be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. There is no parking, it's attached to a hospital (pretty sure from the looks of the rooms that it used to be part of the hospital) and there is no temperature control in the rooms. Heat blasted into our room all night and all they could offer us as a solution was to open all 3 windows and run a fan...it was still about 90 degrees in the room. No one got any sleep in that sweat box. Absolutely horrible.

Nice City view from the roof.
- 2/5
Air-conditioning in the hotel is disabled
- 4/5
Vary nice no air conditioning though only down fall
- 4/5
Also WiFi and TV were spotty, making it hard to watch anything the first night. They did try to fix the service but it didn’t work. Steep hills down to the downtown area and waterfront, but there were a few buses running close by. Uber home from dinner on the waterfront was $20 so a bit pricy for alternate transportation without a car.

The food options at this hotel were very limited. The surrounding areas are not safe and don’t encourage walking too far from the hotel. The room definitely needs updating! It was a very hot day and there’s no air conditioning in any of the rooms. To make things worse the windows would not stay open! I had to find objects to prop the windows open. A box fan was in the room but it didn’t have a knob to turn on! I addressed the service desk person and was told another fan would be provided however it never showed up! It was not a pleasant stay.

The hotel infrastructure is definitely a bit older but everything was in good working order. The building has loads of vintage charm and has been tastefully maintained/modernised- a good balance of what it has been and what it needs to be. Also, for anyone wondering, the ferry is only a $13 taxi ride away, and the hotel is a ten minute (uphill) walk from the light link station.

It is fine. It just was a very hot day, and there is no air conditioning! But its cooler now @8 pm! Its hooked to the hospital where my husband has a procedure, so very convenient for me.

Comfortable and clean

No Ac on summer it was a nightmare sleeping here besides that really good location I won’t be coming back to this hotel
- 3/5
Conditions of AC/ room doors can be spotty and dated. Staff does their best to make up for it by going over and a above.
- 4/5
Poor water pressure in bathroom sink, close to waterfront but too steep a climb for most seniors. Poor internet connectivity. Back rooms of building face a hospital, so lots of ambulances coming and going all night. Ventilation system at the hospital makes a terrific amount of noise, and because there is no air conditioning, you must have windows open which equals very little sleep. They obliged and moved us to a room on the other side of the building, but each day our room keys didn’t work, and we had to get them re-done. With the American exchange rate we ended up paying over $360 Canadian a night, definitely not worth the price. Hotel restaurant is pleasant, with a little outside courtyard, but pricey. Skip this one.

No aircondition but overall it’s nice
- 5/5
All good. Would have been nice to have AC
- 4/5
This is an old property that has been mostly updated but there are some small issues with the room. The hot/cold water would not regulate it was one or the other. Had to adjust constantly when showering. The toilet had no pressure and had to usually be flushed twice. But even with this I would stay there again.

Cool history very walkable to all attractions. It is at the top of a big hill…. Bathroom could use upgrade.
- 5/5
Didn’t try the food but it did look good. Bed comfort was great. Just wish there was more AC than just a fan.
- 3/5
It was previously a hospital and it shows. very old, kinda creepy
- 3/5
Close to my venue but the room was very hot and there was no AC, and the windows although we were on the 6th floor only opened 2 inches. So it was hard to get cool air in even with the two fans they provided
- 4/5
Ceiling plaster in the bathroom was cracked and peeling off
- 1/5
Room was nice but no AC. Sweating bullets over here.
- 1/5
Broken Toilet and TV.

The only downfall to the property was ac. We thought there were fans in the room which would have made it bareable, but they said they didn’t have any.

Loved the hotel. Room just was too hot
- 4/5
For some reason the room was not cleaned the first night (we spent three nights). No parking available - there are some garages around but they fill up in the daytime with the hospital next door

Breakfast staff was rude in restaurant. Went to bar area to order a d she never waited on us, after 10 minutes we said we would like yo order, she finally listen.
- 3/5
The property was very dated, the windows coukd not be raised but a few inches except the one window was propped open with the ice bucket top and no AC.

Loved the charm and simplicity of this historic boutique hotel. Staff was very nice and the bar, dining area, living room and patio were comfortable and lovely.
