Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, guests frequently express frustration with hidden fees, particularly for parking and amenities, and some find the property to be dated or in need of renovation.

The staff was wonderful and everything was clean and well stocked. Room was spacious except for the bathroom which was small but not uncomfortably so. Surprise "amenities" fee per day at check in - I can't stand hotels who pull that trick to make their prices seem lower. The pillows were the worst I've had at a hotel in a while - just immediately went flat when I lay down. The room had no sound isolation. I was kept up at night by noises in the hall and at one point I sounded like someone was rattling my door trying to get in. Speaking of my door - I only had to enter my room three times but two of those times it took multiple key beeps and shoving at the door for it to open despite getting a green light.

Friendly staff, easy check-in. They also had a welcome package for my dog waiting in the room! Spacious and clean room.

Room was nice, loved the pool area for a small space, will be good when construction was done.

Like the down comforters- easy access- cleanliness- perfect

I had a wonderful stay at Staypineapple University Inn. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my visit, making me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. The location was convenient, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others.
- 5/5
Within walking distance of the University, plenty of places to eat, very helpful staff with directions, very competitive pricing.

Check in was fast and easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and ready for me to be there for the single night stay. The hotel is directly across the street from the UW, which is why I stay there. Close to where I need to go and secure parking (even though they make sure you know that they don't guarantee the security of your vehicle!). It is a four block walk to the street with LOTS of options for dining. This is a college town, so options are plentiful and the food is good! The issue that was not explained was that the door to the patio was permanently locked due to safety concerns. It would have been nice to know that. The AC unit was pretty noisy as well and I figured I could live with it for the single night I was there. I should have asked to change rooms bcz of the noise of the AC unit.

We were disappointed in this hotel choice. I'd done a lot of research & was deciding between 3 similar/similar-priced hotels & landed on this one but when we arrived we realized how dated it is. It seems like it was at one time dorms that they converted into a hotel & it felt much more like a 2-star property than a 3-star. Our room was fine & quiet & we appreciated the dual duvets on a bed so that you never have to fight for covers. The bathroom had plastic-y countertops & amenities that smelled like coconut (try & find a scent that is neutral as most people don't want to smell like fruit). Some great things were the metal, re-usable water bottle they give you, coffee in the lobby in the morning & cookies in the afternoon. We got excited about "2 free drinks" & envisioned sitting at a bar, but you choose something from the refrigerator near the front desk. We did really like the older cruiser bikes & used them to go to nearby towns/outdoor markets on Sunday morning & there's a terrific paved trail a few minutes away that ran along the water & was great for running & riding. On Saturday we also wanted to use the bikes & were eagle to explore but the front desk gal told us we'd have to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour for someone to arrive who knew the process for checking out bikes. All & all it's an ok hotel if you are visiting U Washington but it's not close to Seattle & there's a lot of walking or riding the subway to get to the heart of things.

Loved all the fun pineapple touches around @staypineapple, the cute husky greeting, the sparkling water station downstairs, and the ridiculously soft bedding. My favorite part was finishing work, grabbing one of their bright yellow bikes, and riding around the beautiful trails near the university while it was still light outside. Such a simple thing, but it made the trip so much more memorable. Also, shoutout to the sweetest staff for reaching out about a necklace I accidentally left behind before I even realized it was missing. Already checking if there's a Staypineapple in the next city I visit.

We have stayed here before. Very easy access to University Ave. Nice staff, fun decor, comfy beds. No breakfast but short walk to their sister property with a cafe.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, nice modestly priced hotel - totally clean, comfortable beds, etc. No hesitation staying again. Didn't notice anything out of place, dirty, unfriendly etc. Kind of wish they had a coffee bar and breakfast option based on the limited fooderies close by but there is a fridge with some healthy snacks and drinks which was very helpful!
- 5/5
We arrived late and had no problems checking in. Though parking was extra, there was lots of available spaces. The toom was clean and the beds were super comfortable. Loved the down comforter too. We didn't use the pool but it looked very clean and inviting also.

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay! The outside didn’t look like much to be honest but, the room was thoughtfully curated. The bed was quite comfortable, the shower water pressure was even and strong, the coffee maker was unique and delicious. I loved the complimentary water bottles and the friendly staff! I would certainly recommend this spot=)
- 5/5
Loved the hotel in every way!

Affordable, clean. Comfy beds, great linen. Nice to have beverages and things downstairs! Common areas and elevators could use a glow up. Some of the charger ports were not functional and looked cheap like they were going to blow up.
- 5/5
And we love that the place, it is clean. There's a pool that we used the kids really enjoyed it. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Beds are totally comfortable and we slept like babies in the air conditioning The staff is always helpful and kind.I would 10/10 recommend

Very comfortable bed, linens, pillows and comforters. Close to UW Hospitals, clinics and doctor’s office but all surrounding streets are currently under construction make it difficult to navigate and to find. I have stayed before so I knew where I was going. Also, 520 bridge to Bellevue and Northbound I5 are under construction so all Hiways, Freeways and surface streets make this very difficult to navigate. The Pineapple motif is memorable but you feel VERY marketed. You can buy their bathrobe, you can buy their comforters, you can buy their stuffed dog….oh, you have to pay extra for a very tight parking space. Parking lot, parking space sizes were unreasonably small even for our compact car, garbage and furniture cluttered all over parking lot making the are feel unsafe, absolutely nothing to eat, snack on or to buy to eat. Coffee supply was very stingy and not great tasting. There was a sign in the room stating that you could walk quite a ways back to the lobby for more coffee (who wants to travel that far in an area that doesn’t feel safe?). All other surrounding facilities offered free breakfast. Bathroom is the smallest that I have ever seen. You almost need to stand IN the toilet in order to shut the door. The toilet paper holder requires draping paper into the garbage to use (gross). I wouldn’t feel safe here alone. This hotel states that it is pet friendly but there is not a reasonable area to have your pup go potty. (Really? No Mitt Mutt station, no lawn, no cedar play chips, no lighting? Come on, guys…this facility is close to surgical facilities, clinics, UW doctors. You can do better with very little effort. I would recommend the Silver Cloud on Lake Union, East Madison or UNIVERSITY Village instead. Also….the prices in this facility have gone up quite a bit over the past few years.

Good experience. Showers were weak, but property was nice and clean
- 5/5
Nice location, clean room, convenient to restaurant and uw

- 4/5
A nice hotel, super comfy beds, double sinks, very cute, they are of course very big on the pineapple theme. Everything was clean, the area was safe, staff was friendly. No breakfast (apparently they used to have this service) and there is a fee for parking. There is a cafe a couple of doors down that is actually pretty good.
- 5/5
Convenient location and just a step away from university. Nice staff.
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff
- 5/5
Friendly, helpful staff. Convient location.
- 4/5
Decent place to stay near the University. Parking and entry was challenging and I would think did not meet ADA requirements. To enter from the parking were multiple steps and then more steps into the lobby. Although I don't have any mobility issues, I had extremely heavy luggage and did not expect to have to haul it up and down stairs.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Great place close to UW.
- 5/5
I accidentally left my portable phone charger in the room when we checked out. They mailed it back to me at no charge. Not very often that you leave something in the room and actually get it back. We will be staying again.
- 4/5
I would stay again!
- 4/5
It was centrally located very close to University Village for lots of shopping and easy access to I-5 for downtown Seattle. I rented a car so the paid on-site parking at the hotel was a godsend. Parking anywhere in Seattle is an absolute nightmare... So totally worth the additional $25 a night.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable with a pleasant and unique bedding package. Close to bus and train stations so getting around was easy. Overall we had a very nice experience.
- 4/5
A little noisy
- 4/5
Clean, staff were great. Loved the welcome drink and next time we will bring our dog, super pet friendly
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
The room I was in had a lot of noise from running water in adjacent rooms at all hours
- 4/5
Clean room, open outdoor parking. The pool was closed despite the website stating it was open beginning in May. Overall, it was a great stay for my pups and i. They were very accommodating and even provided both of my dogs water bowls, poo bags, a dog bed, & treats!
- 4/5
The room was clean and loved the pineapple theme! I just wished they offered to do breakfast
- 4/5
There seem to be 2 sides to the property. We were upgraded to a wonderful King bedroom suite! It was great!! Staff was super helpful and the cookies were great
- 5/5
Awesome front desk folks. Funky vibe close to campus.
- 4/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
Great staff! Good location near UW.
- 5/5
Staff was great ! Great location!
- 4/5
Note that if you book a room through a secondary site it doesn't tell you that there is a "resort fee." The pool was closed, which was disappointing. Beds comfortable, everything clean, very fancy pour-over coffee maker in the room. The floor boards in our room squeaked loudly every time we walked. No breakfast. We booked this hotel for the moderate price but by the time all the fees were added, it was no longer moderate.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Room was clean staff was great, don’t live paying for parking and wish the pool was open for sitting in the sun
- 4/5
Staff was nice and the colors/vibe was cool

Clean room, love there were two blankets per bed.
- 5/5
Staff are so helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Very convenient stay close to UW campus
- 4/5
Poolside was not available. Parking is available but expensive. Bed sheets/blanket were very warm, too warm
- 3/5
Comfortable stay
- 5/5
Good place to stay and close to the university
- 5/5
Convenient
- 4/5
Bedding was the most comfortable! But room kinda dark/odor? Construction at entry and broken elevator made it a bit challenging.
- 5/5
Second time staying here very nice location and staff.
- 4/5
The poor hotel was suffering from the construction going on outside at the time of our visit.
- 5/5
We stay here often- comfy, walkable to the university, parking is nice.
- 5/5
This is a slightly older property but I just love the Pineapple theme so I picked it. The location is very quiet in a residential part of the University. And the mattress was the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Thick and firm but also very very soft.
- 5/5
The rooms could use a microwave
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing. So comfortable, clean, friendly and great location! The staff was super helpful and kind. We loved the means cute welcome stuff for our kiddos! I will always stay at staypineapple whenever in Seattle.
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing accommodations!! Pineapple cookies🍍, doggy friendly...i mean like they spoiled my pups!! Ive not slept so well...the bed was so cozy and comforter fluffy and breathable.
- 5/5
Easy in and out
- 5/5
Excellent location, basic hotel rooms, but very clean, with great beds and very friendly staff.
- 4/5
The bed, bedding, and pillows were excellent. Very comfortable. We had trouble getting the water warm enough for a shower. The robes are a nice touch.

Excellent hotel. The most comfortable beds. Spotless rooms. Very clean. The staff are so accommodating and kind.

I feel like the pictures made it seem more up to date than it was for the price. And not to include breakfast or gym is unfortunate.
- 4/5
It was a clean room, the staff was nice, and we got checked in earlier than regular check in time.
- 5/5
Great staff.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
All areas
- 5/5
Welcoming staff and very comfortable beds
- 4/5
Staff was great, room was ok, not ok with not having handicapped parking available for more than one vehicle. If there was, it was very hidden. There was also someone next to our room that kept letting their door slam late into the night. A continental breakfast would have been great too but otherwise it was a decent stay.
- 5/5
Everything about this hotel is top notch.
- 3/5
Water did not drain properly in the tub. Floors are loud to walk on. Amenities minimal. Parking very tight.
- 5/5
Room was clean and well stocked. Close to the hospital and within walking distance.
- 4/5
great staff
- 5/5
Really nice hotel, spacious, spotless, comfortable
- 5/5
The accommodations were fine on each of our three recent stays, room clean and orderly, and each time the staff has been exceedingly helpful. This place and its people have taken some of the stress off being in Seattle for medical reasons. The location to UW Medical really helps.
- 3/5
Hidden fees and disappointing water. 'Self parking' turned into a $25 fee per night and then an additional daily 'Amenity Fee' which covers what other hotels provide in cost (WiFi, water, etc.). On top of which, no matter how far you turned the shower faucet, the water never rose above luke warm.
- 5/5
Clean and friendly!
- 4/5
Clean, close to UW, inexpensive parking.
- 5/5
Great room and staff!
- 5/5
Relaxed, cozy, clean and comfortable. No hype. Very relaxing.
- 4/5
Room was clean and in a great location. Front desk staff was awesome and extremely helpful.

- 5/5
The staff was helpful and polite. The room was well appointed and comfortable. We appreciated the European bedding.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff
- 4/5
This hotel was completely adequate for my needs, a comfortable bed in a convent location. The only issue I had was there is zero amenities so I don’t know why they charge for resort fee! Regular old coffee is not even available after 12:01 pm!
- 5/5
We stayed here with our family and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and family-friendly. The staff were kind, Harper helped me check in and was very friendly. We felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Be back for sure!!!
- 5/5
The room was clean andquiet and the bed was comfortable. The staff (Rye) was very helpful in customizing our stay there.

Very nice hotel with great staff and amenities. Very clean and comfortable room. Five minute walk to the light rail station. Portage Bay next door for delicious breakfast. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Seattle!
- 4/5
The beds at Pineapple hotels are very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little smaller than we like and the rain shower shower head was not as promised.
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Great little amenities that other hotels don’t have that make it so hospitable. Loved this location. Their parking is only 20$ for in and out privs. 10/10

Property is good. Location great! Awesome job to the security- Michael! He handled the homeless in a professional manner and safely.

- 5/5
It’s different than any other hotel I’ve stayed at. Highly recommend giving them a shot!
- 5/5
Great as always
- 4/5
The room was clean and as expected A good value for Seattle. Convenient location and helpful front desk staff. I was out of coffee and staff made new pot for me. 👍
- 5/5
I appreciate the friendly staff, ease of self-parking, clean rooms, and location. I stay here every time I’m in town.

Everything was amazing
- 5/5
Super nice!
- 5/5
Wonderful property with very nice staff. Everything was perfect.
- 5/5
Didn't use the pool, self adjusted room temp was fine.
- 5/5
everyone from the front desk to maintenance to housekeeping were friendly and helpful. It was a great area to stay in as well!
- 5/5
Nice location & property
- 5/5
Room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable.
- 3/5
Hotel is starting to feel old with carpets com8ng up, commercial office type carpets, additional costs not mentioned when search hotel options such as $25 night parking and other ammenities, the pool has never been open (3 stays at this hotel), no breakfast offered where all competing hotels do offer breakfast, this hotel promotes dog friendliness yet there is no area outside for dogs, parking lot is loaded with tables, chairs, garbage cans…very messy. The beds, and bedding are amazing though! The hotel staff and Storm the pup is also a nice touch.
- 3/5
Beware of the additional amenity service fee!
- 5/5
Great visit - friendly, clean. Loved the dog! Will return!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed the fun pineapple theme. Very dog friendly. Walking distance to the Neptune theater where we saw a concert.
- 5/5
A+
- 5/5
University area do no shopping
- 5/5
Traveled there from Columbus for the OSU/UW game. Staff was nice, the free cookies were awesome. Only drawback was elevator broke and some people got stuck in it. So my wife and I decided to only use the stairs. Overall 5’s all around.
- 3/5
No amenties
- 3/5
Did not like the comforters. Hair conditioner was awful
- 5/5
Great, friendly staff, close to the Stadium. The room was fun with all of the pineapple gimmicks. We would stay again.
- 5/5
We loved the pineapple hotel and the comfy beds! It was very clean.
- 5/5
Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Friendly, helpful staff. Short walk to restaurants in the university district. Elevator a bit slow, but works fine.
- 5/5
Great hotel! The Staypineapple brand is top notch. Staff is very accommodating!
- 4/5
Rooms were in good condition considering the age of the building. Didn’t appreciate the the 6 AM truck backing up in the parking lot.
- 5/5
Very clean, comfy bed, close to the hospital. This was important because I was visiting a friend in the hospital for the week.
- 1/5
Upon leaving Was told parking was 20 but it was 25 with tax. Maybe they should just say parking is 25. Thought room was paid for in full but an amenities fee of 23 was added unbeknownst to us. Great room. Clean and comfortable. Amenities fee and parking fee disceptiion not ok.
- 5/5
Good location for UW, clean and quiet property.
- 4/5
Very nice room.
- 5/5
Great staff!
- 5/5
Staff were amazing - very friendly and helpful. The location is very close to public transit.
- 5/5
I have stayed here before and hadn't realized till now that it is more inconvenient for accessability--a few little stairs here, no handrails for steps down to pool area, etc.
- 4/5
It's fine. The comforters, robes, water bottles, "free" drink...all cute. But the rooms were old and outdated, the elevator didn't work, and there were no phones in the room to contact the front desk.
- 4/5
Room was great!, property was in an unsafe part of town, and there were no restaurants near by either
- 3/5
The hotel was very clean, which I absolutely loved. The room was cute and the pillows fun. However, there was NO HOT water for several of my showers. I was there for a wedding and needed to be able to shower at a reasonable temperature. The front desk person attempted to fix the issue, but it persisted and I ended up taking lukewarm to cold showers. Additionally, the person who checked me in did not tell me about the problem with the door handles on the room. Apparently you have to lift the handle up THEN down to access the room at times, which no one told me. I tried to get into the room for 5 minutes before having to go down to the front desk to report the issue, which was then when they mentioned it to me, which was super frustrating. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to to hot water issue.
- 5/5
Hotel is fabulous! Great location for UW medical appt. and was a great experience. Will stay there again for sure!
- 5/5
Hotel staff were very friendly. Hotel was very clean and nice looking.
- 5/5
Close to downtown without its chaos. Great staff. Just a few blocks from Link (light rail) station, UW, Trader Joes, multiple bus lines. Close drive to Green Lake and other dining options. Rooms are comfortable with good organizing options. Bathroom is a tight squeeze, but the two sinks, one inside and the other outside of the bathroom, was very useful. This was our third stay here and we will again on our return. Hotel’s parking was always available. Only wish they had self-serve laundry.
- 5/5
We love staying at Pineapple hotels so much so a year ago we bought the same mattress now after this stay I told my husband I need the pillow for my birthday.
- 5/5
I love the convenience and location of this property. Easy to get on the freeway and on site parking is helpful.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly!

- 4/5
Overall pretty nice. New light rail a few blocks away and provides easy access downtown and to the stadiums.
- 5/5
Had to uber here since it was far from everything but the area was great! Free drink too for all guests!
- 5/5
Nice location. Super friendly staff. Short walk to university. Room was great. Loved the robes!
- 5/5
Excellent customer service and great location.
- 5/5
The hotel is very fun! Second time staying there and loved both stays! Only downside is no onsite fitness center but you can go up a block and use a sister hotel’s workout area. Love the staff and the bedding on the beds, as well as the provided bathrobes,
- 5/5
Clean room, close to the railway
- 5/5
Love staying at the Staypinapple.
- 5/5
We were visiting the University of Washington. This was a great hotel not far from campus, but also close to everything you’d want to do in Seattle and the surrounding area.
- 5/5
staff was above and beyond. was a bit hard to find the parking. kind of a weird area. but overalls ot was amazing
- 5/5
You get alot for your money here
- 1/5
Our stay was very disappointing. This was a very small and old inn, not looked like the photos at all, which felt very misleading. Our first room had a strong unpleasant smell. We had to change to another room. All the rooms were very small. Outdated carpet and furniture. The bath room was super cramped. The experience didn’t deserve the resort fee they charged. Also the outdoor pool was tiny, not worth mentioning as a feature. I would NOT recommend this place — there are far better options in the area for even lower price.
- 5/5
Great hotel! UW campus is walking distance, lots of food options in the area. My kids loved the pool!
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
I had a great stay at the property
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and great hotel. Loved it all
- 5/5
Overall great stay, bldg is bit outdated and walls are thin so you’ll need other rooms door close/open in the morning but general overall positive stay. $20 for parking, they got free drinks (ipa/beer/apple juice etc)for guests
- 5/5
We love how pet friendly the hotel was, Marko loved it! He got a "pup-accino" both days. There is no dining option on site, and you need to walk to their sister hotel up the street to use a fitness center. But the staff is excellent and we will definitely stay here again next time we're visiting Seattle! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
It was a great stay. Super comfortable beds and the softest comforters. We loved the early check in option and the free drink coasters to trade in.
- 5/5
Love this property. Clean, friendly and convenient location
- 5/5
We have stayed at this motel several times. They are consistently efficient at check in, helpful with options for travel and dining.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay. Minutes to light rail, clean neighborhood, and great morning restaurant close by with great food. This is a good place to explore Seattle. I would certainly stay here.
- 5/5
Cute little hotel close to the University.

Staff go out of there way to make your visit comfortable.

Not bad but they jack up prices for the summer so the prices are unreasonable for technically a motel

The rooms were average in size, but bathroom is tiny. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on, but would have preferred something to cover with besides a down comforter. I like for a room to be cold when I sleep, but down comforters just make me sweat and there wasn't a sheet or blanket of any kind in the room. It is an old building and the furnishings and all are dated, but it appeared clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating

The available drinks and water were great.

The staff were super nice! I loved the separate blankets for the bed. A few details made this place memorable, we will definitely stay here again!

Lots of little extras offered to make you feel welcome and to add a feel of worth your money. Clean , friendly staff and we would stay here again.

This was great for the short trip but there’s no breakfast and coffee is short lived

Wonderful spacious room with a comfy bed and many great pillows. Extremely friendly front desk staff. Lobby coffee is delicious.

This hotel is wonderful. Quite close to the university. Staff were friendly and helpful, we borrowed a bike to go to some nearby shops. Parking was free and plentiful.

Room was very clean and housekeeping was wonderful

Good location, nice hotel, fun outdoor pool.

The fancy branding is just cover fit a dated, budget hotel. The carpet is old. The rooms and bed are small. And the sliding barn doors on the bathrooms are noisy and don't block sounds.

The facility itself is pretty standard but the stay pineapple brand made the stay feel very personal and fun. The linens are all incredibly luxurious, from the duvets to the towels

We checked around 1:00am. Tom at the front desk was very kind and helpful.

are amazing. From the outside it looks very run down but I was so happily surprised and had a very good trip. Would definitely stay again.

Loved the pineapple theme and received some fun perks. Great location

The hotel itself met our needs, staff were friendly, etc., however my necklace was stolen from our room while we were out for the evening. The only reason it was left out (on the desk) was because I had been trying to untangle a knot in the chain, though didn’t quite finish before we left for dinner. Can’t recommend staying here.

Easy place

I was looking for quiet, safe and clean and staying here you get all this.

We loved our stay!! Everything was easy, quick and clean. Will definitely be staying again. Just and FYI there is a $25 parking fee, I believe it's per night. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind.

Super clean. Conveniently located. Friendly staff. Fun and funky branding with sparkly pineapples all over the place. Very comfy beds with excellent bed and bath linens!

The 2 small comforters for each person on one bed was weird, did not like it at all.

Stayed multiple times and continue to enjoy our stay. Will stay again! Breakfast small bites would be helpful but only knit picking. Staff went above and beyond for our son’s birthday - truly awesome hotel.

Nice place, just located in a busy part of town. Oneway traffic hard to see the sign.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Very quiet and a great atmosphere, very walkable location. Highly recommend this place!

While the elevator was quite slow and the walls a bit thin, these were only minor details and didn’t affect our experience in any negative way. We’d gladly book again in the future!

Fantastic hotel is a wonderful area of the city. Close to multiple bus lines and a 3 block walk to the Link Light Rail. Highly recommend.
