Reviews
The Hotel Sorrento is a historic, charming hotel with friendly and helpful staff. However, the rooms are outdated and in need of renovation, and the area is noisy due to thin windows and proximity to hospitals.

Well maintained.

Beautiful historic property with kind staff
- 5/5
What a beautiful hotel. Staff was great and loved the valet. Only downside is that the hotel is next to a hospital and there were lots of sirens throughout the night. Absolutely nothing the hotel can prevent but should be noted it’s not very quiet

Clean Room

I’ve already written a bunch of comments directly to the hotel. We had to have three rooms before everything was not broken in the rooms we were assigned. For suites! The only suite that actually worked for us had a queen bed instead of a king… So we did not get what we paid for. The entire experience was frustrating, all the staff was very nice, they just could not overcome the deficits in the building. The building is not charming in old, it is old. You can hear every creek from every side, the air-conditioning does not work, the floors are uneven underneath the carpet they’ve laid over them, things are just in disrepair. It’s unfortunate, but we will never stay here again.

Great location. Nice staff. Clean. Quiet.
- 5/5
Great stay. Definitely reminds us of a quaint little Italian hotel. Very friendly staff, great ambiance and good location. Older building, but would definitely stay here again. Food in the restaurant, as well as drinks, were great.
- 5/5
Room is very nice. Restaurant and bar are fantastic. Elias and Michael were so attentive. Food is amazing.
- 5/5
Lovely place, great location and excellent staff!
- 5/5
Super cute hotel, right downtown with access to everything walking. Everyone on site is very helpful and kind!!!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, nice historic hotel in Seattle.
- 4/5
Hotel is near a hospital. A little weird. Elevator stopped working on our last day when trying to get downstairs. No one told us. We finally came down by foot. No big deal but would have been nice not to wait. Staff is nice. Restaurant serves pretty good food.
- 4/5
Cute hotel but requested and paid more for king bed and did not get it. Some spiders in the room but did not scare me away. Large rooms and great breakfast.
- 5/5
Beautiful patio serving dinner and appetizers.
- 2/5
Room 205 was extremely hot,a/c didn't work, and when they brought the portable a/c, they couldn't use it in the room. It was so uncomfortable to sleep.
- 5/5
Cool design, good restaurants and very helpful staff members.
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful, surprisingly quiet for a building of its age, and the staff is first class. My room was very comfortable and had all the nice touches you could ask for, but the low height of the shower head was comical (speaks to the age of the building, I suppose). Other than that, everything was perfect and I won't hesitate to stay at the Sorrento again.
- 5/5
Miles was very warm and kind to us. Right away we felt welcomed. We need more of Miles in this world We arrived in our room and it was so clean and very comfortable with coffee and tea compliments from you. Lovely stay close too all that Seattle offers
- 5/5
Wonderful Staff. Beautiful patio. Relaxing atmosphere.
- 5/5
Such a wonderful hotel and staff with so much history. The bar and restaurant on-site were fabulous and the location is so walkable. Definitely will choose again when in Seattle.
- 5/5
We felt very welcome to stay there. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and comfortable. The beds and the pillows are amazing the friendliness of the staff and the food was delicious and Stella‘s restaurant.

- 5/5
Classy, classic hotel in the right location for our visit to Seattle.
- 5/5
Historic, well preserved hotel
- 5/5
Great classic hotel close to downtown, without being in the fray, and easy to get up the hill on the G line. Really helpful, friendly staff and a classy joint overall!
- 5/5
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a very beautiful building with a lot of history in a great location. Our room was comfortable and clean, the staff was kind and helpful, and the valet parking service was very convenient and efficient. We’re very likely to stay here again!
- 4/5
Property is very outdated and no hair dryer readily available in the room Cleanliness is ok seen molds by the strip in the tub For the price they are charging they can do better
- 5/5
A lovely historic hotel.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at this historic landmark! The staff was excellent and the location was so convenient!
- 3/5
The rooms could be updated the portable AC was adequate. We waited quite a bit of time for our room on the back end of our trip which could have been better. They wanted to charge 60 USD to check in early which I felt was a bit much since we already stayed and there were rooms available
- 3/5
They have a restorant and bar . Staff was very nice and helpful
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff; spacious well appointed rooms. Great location.🙂👍
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, room, and entertainment!
- 5/5
Clean Room, nice staff , gr8 location
- 3/5
Nice old hottie need of many updates. Close to bus stop. Staff nice and helpful.
- 5/5
All was great. My only criticism is service was very slow in the restaurant
- 5/5
Great room. Clean comfortable with plenty of amenities. We loved the natural woods. The little antique details. Extra touches. We had a bit of an accident and front desk was quick to provide first aid kit. Very assessable to downtown area. Close to bus routes and has a lot of food options nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
A great place
- 5/5
It was good clean room
- 4/5
Really nice hotel which is reasonably close to the attractions. But it’s a good climb up the steep road if you are walking.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Bang for your dollar. Step into another era hotel that probably looks as good as now as when it was first built. Comfortable beds, good dining and location, and wonderful staff.
- 5/5
FANTASTIC!! This place was wonderful and for such a great price in the city. Super grateful to the staff for being so wonderful!
- 5/5
Fantastic staff and service. The food was delicious. Loved it so much we are staying again after our cruise. I highly recommend it.
- 4/5
Breakfast could have been more variety was out of French Toast potatoes were burnt
- 5/5

- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Great hotel for a clean and courteous stay. Love how they change the hotel elevator mat everyday.
- 5/5
Great stay, staff was helpful, room was amazing. Also it’s the same hotel from the video game The Last of Us which I did not realize until I walked in! Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Quick and easy check in. A delicious breakfast with even better service.
- 5/5
The Hotel Sorento is a beautiful historic hotel that maintains its original air of glamor and luxury from days gone by. My corner suite was absolutely beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the food from the restaurant in the lobby, Stella, was superb. I was able to walk to Pike Market, and there are many restaurants and shops adjacent to the hotel as well, making it convenient to eat and to shop. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 2/5
The location was good. The elevator was broken half the time we were there. Had to walk up six flights of stairs. We were there visiting our aunt in the ICU at a nearby hospital. The broken elevator just caused more stress to the stay.

- 2/5
Unfortunately, the second floor was extremely loud at night, and the music from the restaurant downstairs continued until around 11:30 PM. The room also had a connecting door to the next room, so I could clearly hear people walking and moving around. It was difficult to get a good night’s sleep because of the noise.
- 4/5
The hotel itself needs upgrades, the windows definitely needs secondary double glazing! It’s really noisy at night and there are gaps in the windows which doesn’t help! Decor needs attention, and the shower fittings need replacing, but I have to say the staff are fantastic, and the bar food was exceptional if a little pricey!
- 4/5
Unique Old Seattle hotel. Room was clean , room smelled a little musty . Good location to downtown and wamu theater .,asked 2 staff members where to go for dining and neither one knew of any suggestions .
- 4/5
Very good
- 4.5/5
Hotel was old and quirky. Great period design. Staff were very helpful. Spacious bedroom. Small things like the tight layout between toilet and shower and cold water very slow to run.
- 5/5
Clean, courteous, everything a hotel needed or be
- 4/5
Nice historic hotel. Great value.
- 5/5
Large clean room. Great staff!
- 5/5
Our favorite Seattle hotel. We walked up to Capitol Hill for dinner, down to the Paramount for a concert - no need for a car. Great location.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff
- 5/5
Great property with bar and dining.
- 5/5
Very convenient location in town. Nice facilities and room. No breakfast or barista “due to staffing”
- 5/5
I spent a dreamy week in Seattle and stayed at the Sorrento after a local friend recommended it. I was so impressed. Gorgeous room, lovely staff (thanks Myles!) and the perfect location. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
Our room was fairly spacious and beautifully appointed. I especially love the tub in our bathroom room. The towels were thick and large. Miles and John and R …. were all wonderfully kind and welcoming. Everyone would go out of their way to make sure you had what you needed. Bartender was also fantastic. We had drinks and dinner and everything was quite good. I will recommend this to anyone staying in Seattle and we will be back for our next visit. I also love that they changed the elevator rug each day of the week; something I’ve never seen before and it was very charming. The whole place was charming and well done.
- 5/5
The staff is always amazing!
- 3.5/5
The front desk and the bell man were friendly. cleaning crew needed to clean the room better. There were food left in the fridge from the previous customer. The tables were dusty. The trash wasn't taken out daily. There are mildew on the ceiling of the bathroom.

The staff is always so professional and always willing to help with any information or issue. The room is large and the water pressure is excellent with very nice restroom. I have no complaints at all.

It has a classic ambiance which I liked. Bar had a great selection of drinks. The rooms are really spacious with comfortable beds
- 5/5
Breakfast excellent. Facilities comfortable, clean and well maintained. Staff well trained accommodating and very helpful. Hotel beautiful with historic charm.
- 5/5
Had Sunday lunch in Stella which was excellent. An impressive wine list. Dinner was taken in the room and the flavors and appearance were both excellent. I cannot imagine wanting to stay in any other hotel in Seattle . It exceeded all expectations for the 3 couples travelling with us. Just wish that we could have stayed longer than 2 nights.
- 5/5
What a joy to stay at the charming, beautiful Sorrento Hotel!
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4.5/5
The restaurant staff, although so friendly and fantastic, didn’t seem concerned about allergies. I’m severely allergic to strawberries which I stated multiple times but they still brought strawberry jam to us and thought nothing of it.
- 4.5/5
Only the outside noise at times
- 4.5/5
Love this hotel so cozy and close to every thing restaurant is delicious Only the outside noise at times
- 4/5
Staff was lovely and accommodating, grateful for their help! Property is older (it’s historic!) so know that the AC situation isn’t great and the bathroom is small. But the charm is abundant!
- 5/5
Terrific hotel in a great location close to Seattle University.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious room.
- 5/5
The pull out sofa and roll away beds need new updated mattresses.
- 5/5
Nicer shampoos would make it feel more lux
- 5/5
Lovely historic hotel. Friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms. Stella restaurant in the lobby had an excellent breakfast with a warm atmosphere near the fireplace. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very nice, like stepping back in time
- 5/5
Of the 3 historic hotels in the middle of “hospital hill” or “first hill” the Sorrento is by far the best
- 4/5
Still waiting for my email receipt as promised by reception. Also it would have been nice to have been asked how my stay was.
- 4/5
Staff were great and our room was clean and cozy, Best nights sleep I’ve had in a while.
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice. The staff are wonderful.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They answered very question I had and were accommodating.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
It is not that close from the main attractions, since it is necessary to walk high hills when you are coming to the hotel. Not restaurants near by, except the one at the hotel that is very good. Few places to buy food around. Homeless near by. The bed was very comfortable. It was a little noisy outside. Double window curtains should be wonderful. The bar looks very beautiful.
- 5/5
Beautiful, charming and quaint hotel and room! Restaurant and cozy bar within the hotel was very convenient.
- 5/5
Nice happy hour and excellent breakfast. Pleasant atmosphere in the bar. Staff all very pleasant and friendly.
- 4/5
Room was a little small and dated
- 5/5
Very comfortable bed, excellent quality bedding - one of the overall best hotel beds I've slept in
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful. The building itself is very old.
- 5/5
The staff were wonderful! The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.
- 5/5
Excellent service! Food is fantastic, fresh, and innovative.
- 5/5
The stay was amazing. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and beautiful. I will be back.
- 5/5
Sean of the valet team was very helpful
- 5/5
Nice room, great walkable location to walk to downtown and restaurants. The hotel has a good restaurant as well. Parking can be tricky during the day. There is valet for $65.
- 5/5
The Hotel Sorrento appreciates our business. They are accommodating, professional, and personable. The facility is spotless, luxurious, and affordable. The food is exceptional from breakfast to dinner. We will be back!
- 5/5
I ordered room service and it was good. Nice sitting area to wind down before bed. Bed was comfortable and it was close to family member in the hospital. Heater was a standing tower and there isn’t A/C.
- 4/5
Absolutely no complaints about the room, it was gorgeous, and the windows allowed plenty of sunlight in. Floors were a little creaky, but that's historic hotel charm. Also, a staff member told me there was a secret piano on the 7th floor, but there was no piano, which was no fun. They were probably joking with us, but I seriously wanted to see the secret piano!!
- 5/5
Bed was comfy, and restaurant provided delicious dinner. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall a wonderful experience.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and wonderful hotel💙

- 5/5
Great historic hotel!
- 4/5
We had a lovely stay. The staff is exceptional. Thank you Hotel Sorrento
- 5/5
Lovely room. Spacious. Comfy bed. No towel bars. One phone charger in inconvenient location. Not next to the bed.
- 5/5
I love this hotel. I had medical appointments, and I was literally 4 min walk from those. I walked everywhere. I used the fitness center. It was fantastic. It’s a beautiful historic building with the best bartenders and staff at the restaurant and front desk.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 1/5
To make matters worse, I was charged $300 for valet parking even though I never used valet. I’m currently disputing the charge with my credit card company.
- 5/5
A wonderful stay at the hotel sorrento! The charm of the hotel is unbelievable! The staff can not do enough for you. Everyone from valet, to front desk to room maids are just wonderful.

- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Elegant hotel and I loved how it took me back in time. Staff so friendly and attentive!
- 5/5
Simply amazing, excellent staff, very clean, great bar and resto. We stayed the night here after getting married at the courthouse, the location was convenient, plus check out at noon and NO resort fees!! The suite we stayed in was spacious and beautiful, the bed was so cozy I never wanted to wake up, and the water pressure in the shower was the best I’ve ever experienced. Would absolutely recommend, and will definitely stay here in the future.
- 5/5
Always great customer service. Amazing food. Everyone is very courteous and helpful.
- 5/5
Great room, clean, comfortable. Great staff.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent!
- 5/5
everything was great as always
- 4/5
Just two minor things. This is an old hotel, so the insulation isn't great. You will hear a lot of the street noise. Also - our heat wasn't working that great, so our room was cold. But even with that- I would stay again.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was so polite and helpful definitely recommend
- 5/5
Room was great, the staff fabulous
- 3/5
Room was cute, hotel staff not very friendly and the food was not good!
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel, clean rooms, and lovely historic vibe. What more could you ask for? Everything was easy with regard to check in and out, and it was in a great location. We will come back soon!
- 4/5
Next to a hospital. Lots of noise from ambulance siren
- 5/5
It was very nice. Enjoyed very much
- 5/5
Yes, room was clean, maintained. Absolutely no complaints. Same with staff, had a few questions, always helpful, always friendly. We already have plans in another stay. Thank you so much. Really enjoyed it.

Elegant hotel, with clean rooms & friendly staff. Extremely comfortable lobby, with a warm fireplace. Had a wonderful stay at Sorrento.
- 5/5
Old World luxury feel
- 5/5
Customer service at the Sorrento is always awesome! I stay often at the Sorrento when I have medical stuff going on at Swedish because it is comfortable, nice and clean, and they take really good care of me. It's like a lovely step back in time. The food at Stella is amazing as well.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. Had a medical procedure and needed to stay before and after. The staff was so accommodating and polite. Would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was comfortable and clean. The bed could have been more firm, but the rest was great. Nice staff. Wonderful historic hotel.
- 5/5
Comfortable room, wonderful restaurant. Very happy we stayed here!
- 4/5
Room was clean . Beautiful nostalgic feel to the hotel which I loved. Staff very nice. Didn’t give it 5 stars because I didn’t sleep well due to feeling Hot in the room. No AC . A fan in the closet would have helped . I’m sure I could have asked for a fan, but never did.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 5/5
Historical unique hotel
- 5/5
Room was spacious and clean. Dining downstairs was amazing.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Yes, they had to put portable heaters in the room main unit was broken, staff was super
- 5/5
Hey! I definitely would recommend this hotel, I mean I was told the hotel was haunted
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and willing to get me whatever I needed-extra blankets, a space heater, ceramic coffee mugs, even microwaving my pastry from the Sugar bakery just a few steps away from the hotel. They gave me a 10% off Sugar Bakery coupon too. It was the perfect, historic, place to stay for sane-day surgery too. The corner room we had was incredibly spacious. We would stay here again.
- 4/5
Nice historic hotel - very nice restaurant - plesant staff
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful
- 4/5
Great hotel. Didnt clean our room between nights. It was chilly.

- 5/5
The architecture of the hotel and the food services.
- 3/5
Cleaner bathroom
- 4/5
Staff was great and room was nice!
- 4/5
Pleasant stay. Lovely fire place. Conveniently located. Slight smell to the hotel. No help with the bags at check out which was disappointing as I was helped at check in.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was old style elegant with beautiful dark wood. We did not eat in the restaurant but sat by the fire and it was very pleasant.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. Great room great staff lots of extras. Unbeatable location.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel. Lounge was cute. Hotel is a bit old and could use some rennovation like the bathrooms and elevators.
- 5/5
Increase heat in dinning room; the gold curtains in each room don’t meet to keep out light; the south window gold curtains don’t smoothly run on the track; since the room can sleep four people, have at least 4 paper cups for 4 people to have coffee instead of 2; the water heats up to a great temperature, but a sleeve fir each cup would be very helpful and necessary; I called down to the front desk around 10;10am and it rang for about 12 times before someone answered it; loved having the outside trees lite up for the wintertime, but sprucing up the courtyard w many evergreen lit up trees of different sizes on platforms w wheels to lock into place to remove to the edges in the spring would enhance the courtyard; pressure wash the courtyard walls and floor and on top of the canopy; help the chef in learning how to cook halibut to keep it moist and tender; add an extra saucer in the bread platter with only olive oil for the customer to add the amount they prefer to their balsamic vinegar(they repel each other so it’s difficult to get to the vinegar without smothering your bread w oil; we love the beahuman body but having them displayed over our beds we feel is it isn’t necessary. These rooms are most likely families or at least a couple and maybe one has been battling being faithful to each other and having these images right before bed could be an offence to them both. There are so many other beautiful images that could be used instead. We hope you really consider our proposal.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable with great service!
- 5/5
This is I truly lovely small boutique hotel with a thoughtful and courteous staff and lovely rooms and a beautiful restaurant and an incredible little far
- 5/5
The lobby is beautiful and the room spotless. Staff are so helpful. Love the little bar for an afternoon cicktail.

- 5/5
Clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Everyone from valet, to the frontdesk, to room service was super friendly and very helpful. We stayed with our dog and it could not have been easier.
- 4/5
Pretty hotel! Loved having a glass of wine in the court yard. The room was extremely hot and the AC barely worked. It was also on top of a very steep hill which made riding the scooters a little difficult
- 5/5
Beautiful romantic hotel and tea
- 4/5
Lovely short stay close to the Paramount Theatre. Finishes are a bit dated compared to what the photos show but no complaints
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
5 stars for all!
- 2/5
An old, tired, and noisy, hotel.
- 5/5
Charming old hotel with a wonderful staff. We enjoyed dinner at Stella……David is a great bartender. Shower/toilet area is a bit tight in room 211 but just one of the quirks of a 100 year old hotel. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
- 5/5
The staff is always so friendly, helpful and it's nice to see some of the same faces. That means they like working at Sorrento and it shows! Will be back again for sure, always charming summer or winter!
- 4/5
I got the upgraded suite and well it was a suite, it was a very odd layout with everything centered around the bathroom. This made the living room area almost pointless as it was more of an alcove instead of living space.
- 5/5
A classic
- 5/5
This was our first time at the Sorrento and we’ll definitely be returning. Our room was cozy and spotless, the service was great, and lunch at Stella’s was so good we ate there everyday.
- 5/5
5 stars
- 5/5

- 5/5
The hotel was charming and perfect.
- 5/5
Clean, smelled good, staff was friendly, bar an restaurant was amazing all around great time
- 4/5
All hotels seem to have a problem regulating room temperature.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Excellent place highly recommended.
- 5/5
What a wonderful experience! The staff were extremely friendly, the ambiance is second to none and the room was sublime. My room was clean and had everything I needed. I urge visitors to go to the Stella restaurant and bar, the staff were so kind and the cocktails were magnificent. I would definitely go again!
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was helpful and professional.
- 5/5
Yep
- 4/5
Clean & convenient to medical facility. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
The staff is exceptional, the vibes are vintage, but very well maintained, and there’s a fantastic bar and dining area. I was traveling with my mobility challenged mother, and we felt well taken care of. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
Gorgeous rooms and lobby. Excellent service and employees.
- 4/5
Lovely old hotel. Room was impeccable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We will return!!
- 5/5
A lovely hotel with great character and charm, topped off with amazing service. Richard at reception was extremely helpful and friendly, and Jaime in the bar was very pleasant and went out of her way to assist us. My family and I are lnoking forward to coming back.
- 5/5
excellent room, very helpful and courteous staff
- 2/5
Outdated hotel. Staff was nice food was ok
- 5/5
Staff was welcoming
- 5/5
All good and exceptionally quiet
- 4/5
Rooms are a bit tired. Hotel staff is wonderful. Room service was great. Dining , very good. Beautiful lobby and lounge .
- 5/5
Excellent reception, personal note from general manager welcoming us back, fantastic dinner and breakfast and beautiful antique venue.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Will definitely stay again
- 3/5
The room…well, let’s say I’ve had better. Small, tv was hit or miss and nowhere to watch it except the bed. The hallways and room smell was a cross between musty and urine. I did kill a roach on my last night. The pros were the location and the quaint fireside room. The food was above average and other than the Thanksgiving meal, plentiful. Not sure I will stay here again, no amenities and one chair in the lobby? If you like historical decor, dark and vintage then you will fit right in. Kudos to the friendly staff.
- 5/5
Loved the ambient, next trip in town we are definitely stay at the Sorrento again.
- 5/5
We didn't eat breakfast there, so I can't give it a review, but everything was great. They staff is especially accommodating and we will definitely be back
- 2/5
Room not clean and had a terrible scent, did not stay.
- 5/5
All the staff was courteous and my room was spacious and clean. I appreciated the space heater they had in the room as well since in older hotels it can be drafty. Great value and service.
- 5/5
I always stay at The Sorrento, when I visit Seattle. It's a beautiful, nostalgic feel. The rooms are spotless and all staff are beyond professional, courteous and helpful. The valet guys jumped my car battery for me, one time, when my battery died 😊. And the location in down-town Seattle is perfect. Highly recommend
- 5/5
I just came for a little solo stay and my little room was perfect! I will be back. Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Not sure about the breakfast can’t rate that cause did not have it, the rest of the state was excellent friendly staff valet attendant was excellent overall best customer service I’ve ever, very accommodating and welcoming room was clean comfortable. Would gladly stay her again in the future and Highly recommend to anybody I know staying in the area. Thank you so much and happy holidays to all.
- 5/5
The hotel was super clean and lovely. The entire staff were great and friendly. We had a minor issue with the toilet’s tank not filling up without jiggling the handle, but other than that our stay was lovely. I highly recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel and wonderful staff!
- 5/5
Clean beautiful historic hotel. Enjoyed the restaurant, service and food!
- 5/5
The staff were all so friendly I will literally never stay anywhere else is Seattle again :)
- 5/5
Beautiful, elegant room :)
- 5/5
Friendly staff and great restaurant attached. Loved the lounge area as well. Will be back for sure
- 5/5
Excellent experience- clean, tastefully decorated, handy location and welcoming staff.
- 4/5
Your staff is outstanding. Sean, Miles and Ripley were great! Thanks for being pet friendly, but wish we could sit in the lobby bar ( or somewhere in the hotel) with our dog. The Davenport in Spokane has a similar set up and is pet friendly in the lobby area bar. Your hotel is clean but you desperately need new windows. Ours did not latch and were, therefore, slightly open, which meant extra street noise.
- 5/5
Great historical hotel! Easy access to many attractions. Facility very well maintained. Really love the spaciousness of the room. Upgraded amenities like full Nespresso maker for me was a touch of home. Excellent meal and service in the restaurant. Please add USB and C charging stations!
- 3/5
Our true problem lay in the age of the building - our room was beautiful but creaked incessantly from the motion upstairs. We could hear loud conversations in the hallway from other people. Not a fault of the staff or the hotel, but that’s just how the building is.
- 4/5
Clean room and friendly staff. Loved the historic feel and location.
- 3/5
Room was okay. Bathroom sink slow to drain and bathtub spigot was loose and almost falling off. Molding was chopped up
- 5/5
Nice room friendly staff. Word.
- 5/5
Roo. Was spacious and very clean. Staff was helful and very nice! I would definitely book another night. The only thing that needs improvement is the bar. Service was slow and not as friendly it could be understaffed but still basic things like napkins would be nice
- 4/5
Staff was great and very helpful with dining and transport.
- 5/5
Wonderful day with a lovely upgraded room. Super friendly staff.
- 3/5
Pillow case was not changed out from last customer. Gross!!!
- 5/5
Great customer service. Valet parking was convenient. Beautiful hotel. Close to Pikes place market. Close to Paramount theater.
- 5/5
A very nice room with a lot character. The Stella restaurant was delicious. The location is perfect to explore the city.
- 5/5
Such a classy historic hotel! We loved the building, were very comfortable, and enjoyed its location. We dream of coming back when we can explore the area more!

The hotel was perfect and charming. Staff was very nice and helpful with where things were located and how to get there. The restraunt onsite was delicious and their staff also very friendly.
- 5/5
Everything and everyone did an amazing job!!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, good food and service in the restaurant.
- 5/5
Quick and efficient checkin and out. Service was professional. The hotel was decorated for Halloween, really cute lobby and dining room.
- 5/5
Friendly, welcoming staff and enjoyed a lovely dinner with piano music and great breakfast
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Restaurant on-site.
- 5/5
Already shared my views with the hotel. It was a great stay at a centrally located, charming, historic property!
- 5/5
Really an outstanding, upgraded hotel with character!
- 4/5
We loved the neighborhood—being away from the center of downtown—and the grand old hotel was wonderful. We did not dine in but the bar was lovely.
- 5/5
Great employees
- 4/5
Not for kids or family's..... rich upper class
- 5/5
Halloween decorations were great! Valet/doorman tall dark-haired who has worked there for a while was super personable, sharing his knowledge of the building; thank you for the pleasant visit.
- 5/5
I was in room 505, and when it was time to go to bed, I heard every noise from emergency sirens to busses going by, the windows were not of great quality lucky for me I brought ear plugs.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
The pictures over the bed were deeply disturbing, and bolted to the wall… we did not like those at all. One issue we had with our three-night stay is that housekeeping came after night one, but not after night two. So we had to call to ask for new towels since they were not replaced like they had been the day before. Couldn’t find any information on why housekeeping came one day but not the other, was strange and a little inconvenient. Bar was okay, not the best options but the fireside room is a cool atmosphere.
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and hotel was very beautiful looking. The location is great, very central and walkable, so it's also noisy. We also happened to be there on the night the hotel had a party. The bathroom didn't have a fan either. Overall it was good, especially for a last-minute booking.
- 5/5
Great service in the bar. Friendly atmosphere. Every employee that I came into contact with, was VERY helpful and friendly. Thank you for that.

Beautiful Hotel & Friendly staff
- 5/5
Old school and quaint with nice well laid out clean rooms.
- 5/5
Polite and helpful staff, clean and quiet room, good food and amenities
- 5/5
Amazing staff and convenient location.
- 5/5
Beautiful old hotel. Staff was super friendly. We came for a Mariners game and our uber ride was about 10 minutes from the park. Will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
We can't find a parking space of the hotel, so we asked for help and they say we can take care of it. Unknowingly, and nobody explained to us that it's a valet parking and charge us for $180 for a day.
- 5/5
A well maintained property with beautiful wood paneled walls and stone flooring. Excellent staff.
- 4/5
Dinning wasn’t so good, they were out of lot of inputs for what I tried to order, therefore I had to have dinner somewhere else
- 5/5
The staff is friendly, helpful and considerate. The room was great, I was just there to sleep the night so don’t have any contacts on anything else.
- 5/5
Cute, charming, comfy, and convenient
- 5/5
The Hotel Sorrento is a beautiful old building! Staff were very friendly and helpful and my room was spacious and comfortable! The bed was great! The only downside is that it is high up and the walk back from downtown and Pike Place Market is hard if you aren't physically fit or driving. But as long as you are fit, then this is a wonderful place to stay!
- 5/5
Staff was nice throughout, feels like a classic hotel. Busline and breakfast place right across the street. Beds were a bit soft for our liking. Fireside room was nice to lounge in when we first arrived and deciding where to go.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at Hotel Sorrento, it was a beautiful hotel. Very classy and clean. Air conditioned rooms, comfy bed and sheets, huge bathroom and closet. It was a great hotel and I highly recommend it. My only minor complaint, although it does not have to do with the hotel itself, is that it says it’s like a 12 minute walk to certain landmarks like the space needle but it wasn’t. It’s a 25 minute walk to pike place and aquarium, and a 40 minute walk to the space needle. Not a big deal but just so you are aware. But the hotel was beautiful, the area was safe, and the staff was very helpful and friendly
- 5/5
A landmark hotel in Seattle with a flavor of excellence from a earlier era
- 5/5
It was a beautiful place to stay while we were in Seattle. I hope I get to visit again!
- 5/5
Nice hotel, a bit away from restaurants but walkable.
- 4/5
The bathroom sink is just a stand alone. No countertop. Makes it hard for us ladies. Otherwise very nice.
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Sorrento. The service was exceptional, and housekeeping kept our room clean and comfortable. It’s a quaint hotel full of character, and the bed was amazing — the pillows especially! Honestly the best night’s sleep I’ve had in forever (I’m even calling to find out what brand they use). The location was perfect too, close to everything with the G Line steps from the hotel for easy rapid bus rides. We’d definitely stay here again if we visit Seattle in the future.

smashing suite - spacious and quiet room
- 5/5
Very clean and great location!
- 5/5
Great old building. Nice bed and room with fridge and sofa bed
- 5/5
Staff is friendly, and helpful.
- 5/5
Our room was great, beds super comfy, even the pull out sofa bed. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Always checking to see if we needed anything.Gave us directions when needed and met every need for our stay. Will stay there again!
- 5/5
Looked very clean, but white socks blackened when walking in room. A/C is a mobile unit that I cleaned and had to empty water accumulation to keep operational Despite being pretty empty, both dinner and breakfast were good. Room service was perfect.
- 4/5
Everything was great, except dinner was
- 5/5
Hotel Sorrento is absolutely stunning. The garden bar was a lovely place for us to catch up with an old friend. The staff was warm and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
- 5/5
Unreal experience and lovely staff
- 5/5
Chloe helped me get a taxi to the Hospital the next morning. Such a Comfort. Thank You.
- 5/5
Extremely reasonable price considering the quality of the facility and service. It's in great shape for a hotel that's over 100 years old. Loved the ambiance.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel! Excellent Cafe
- 5/5
Cute vintage hotel. Staff was very nice. You had to commit to valet parking, which slows things down a bit. But, the valet was always available and ready to grab the car.
- 5/5
Great unique place to stay.
- 5/5
Very friendly and efficient staff
- 5/5
Beautiful old hotel, very friendly staff, super comfortable room. TV options were limited(would be nice to have had a smart TV with Netflix etc)
- 5/5
Nice hotel, clean and confortable rooms.
- 5/5
The hotel had a lot of character, it was clean and in a good safe location. The restaurant at the hotel is also amazing.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing. Has we not had other reservations we would have stayed here again on our weekends back after the cruise. We had a memorable stay.
- 5/5
Very lovely place to stay at
- 5/5
It’s uniqueness
- 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to this classic hotel amidst the urban landscape of Seattle! Loved the old hotel charm - and Stella’s restaurant and bar offered great end to our day. The focaccia bread was yes! Enjoyed several appetizers including tasty (but small) crab cakes and oysters. Our room and bed was comfy cozy.
- 3/5
this place charge 80 for parking and charge me to my card after i left
- 5/5
A wonderful classic hotel where we had a large room. The towels were great. The robes were soft. Were were on the 4th floor out of 7. We had a corner room and it was a little noisy given the Main Street out front. Also, you could not watch TV from bed. If the hotel was really busy then the one elevator could be a big problem, but we did not experience any long waits. This was a delightful experience and the first time we stayed there. We will have no hesitation coming back.

- 4/5
Great location and walkable to the main attractions in the city! The staff were very nice and the food options were spectacular! We loved the look of the hotel as it was warm and inviting.

The Hotel hosted a dinner party which advertised to end at 10pm in the courtyard; DJ played at normal levels until then; at that point the music turned to nightclub levels and steadily increased until after midnight (12:30). All front facing rooms were subjected to the musical assault which was accompanied by the ritual drunk girls screaming ’woo hoo’ at the beginning of each song. A call to the front desk received the response ‘it should be wrapping up soon’. Around 12:30 in the morning it finally stopped. In speaking with the staff in the morning about the previous night, they too said the music was unbelievably loud but manager wanted it that way and were told they had to scream to take drink orders to be heard. We booked this hotel for its beauty and historic location in anticipation of a luxurious night sleep before our cruise journey. Little did we know that we would have been wiser to book a Motel 6 under the SeaTac airport flight path and saved hundreds of dollars. The hotel staff, outside of the brainchild management, were amazing. Food and beverage were spectacular. But after wonderful meals and carefully crafted cocktails, all was shot to heck and back with the thumping music and ‘Woo Hoo’ shrills for 4 long hours into the early morning. Save yourself and choose wiser than we did.
- 5/5
Beautiful boutique, historic hotel, right in downtown Seattle! The building is over 100 years old and has an old world charm with lots of mahogany, beautiful tile floors, and carpet. The rooms are spacious and the service is excellent!
- 5/5
Old school understated comfort and calm quiet unique place in the heart of Seattle short cab ride from ferry station. Feels homey rather than glittery and warm rather than cold feeling. Reasonable for downtown Seattle.
- 5/5
Outstanding hotel. Thoroughly enjoyable.
- 5/5
Front desk staff were very friendly. They helped with our luggage even though we did ask. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. This is an older hotel but very, very well kept up. Restaurant food was a bit expensive but I guess that’s expected at any hotel.
- 5/5
Great staff and a delicious restaurant on the premise. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend.
- 5/5
I'd come back again not because of the room but because of the hospitality from Chloe!
- 5/5
We loved every single thing about Hotel Sorrento. Staff was so nice and friendly. The hotel is gorgeous. The food and drinks were amazing. The courtyard was my favorite place. Beautiful flowers. Nice tables. The room was so comfortable and spacious. The bed was very nice with great bedding . Our room looked out over the courtyard which was so pretty. Highest ranking possible for this beautiful hotel.
- 3/5
Nice old hotel beginning to show its age. I’d make sure your housekeeping staff are on top of it. No housekeeping during my stay. Unacceptable
- 3/5
Air conditioner was loud and didnt seem to have a quiet low speed
- 5/5
They were able to accommodate some relatives and I on pretty short notice. The rooms were clean, well-laid-out, and on top of that, air-conditioned. This on top of all the old-world charm of a building from 1909. One-of-a kind. Truly.
- 5/5
Perfect location, close to downtown and hospitals. Quick easy check-in. Very clean and comfy. I always recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
I definitely want to return to this hotel!!
- 5/5
Fantastic stay, delightful staff, and an excellent place to enjoy. I adored this hotel and can't wait to stay again. Stella crafts a fabulous breakfast as well!
- 5/5
Property was wonderful. Restaurant was fabulous. Miles helped get us checked in to our room as soon as one was available. We will be back!
- 5/5
Love the vintage charm and amazing service. All of the staff were responsive and kind.
- 3/5
The property looks historic and has character, but things feel creaky and worn. Elevator is small and only fits 3. I had a paid reservation for a classic room with 2 queens, they put us in a room with one bed. Had to go back to the desk and all they could move us to was a room with a queen and a sofa bed. Wasn't offered any compensation for being put in a room type inferior to what I paid for. Desk staff were nice and helpful though
- 5/5
Surprised to see individual plastic tubes of soap, conditioner, and lotion. Use recyclables guys. Would stay here again.
- 2/5
While the hotel is old and charming, the power in our room went out several times. This was likely due to the AC being broken and a swamp cooler used as a replacement - and too much power for such an old building. The food was great, but the restaurant was severally understaffed in the AM for breakfast. The front desk was understaffed as well. The staff who were there were extremely nice and helpful with our issues. Would not stay here again
- 5/5
They cleaned and refresshed everything....toiletries, coffee, bed, bathroom-every day
- 5/5
Great stay. Friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! It was clean, charming, and quiet, and the staff was very friendly and full of suggestions for our inquires. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Beautiful historical hotel! This place was clean and quiet! We loved our stay and would definitely recommend. The staff were friendly and accommodating. And the elevator rug changes daily with the day of the week.
- 4/5
I loved the hotel. The beds were comfortable. Being over 100 years old, the shower was unhinged. The pressure wasnt good, and it would quickly jump from boiling hot to freezing. Being an older hotel its understandable, but I feel like the price would expect more udpated showers. The AC was nice and the restaurant was great!
- 5/5
I was very impressed with how quiet the hotel was. Staff was great
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, friendly helpful staff. Eggs Benedict were the best! I’d stay there again.
- 5/5
Nice historic property Staff was nice and helpful and rooms were clean and enjoyable
- 5/5
The room was beautiful. The hotel is beautiful. The staff was very helpful. Even the person I was texting with about directions from the light rail. My only issue as that. I was told the sleeper sofa was comfortable and it was not! Not at all. The only people that should be sleeping on that are children that don't care or they can sleep between the bars.
- 5/5
the best bar/fireside room
- 5/5
Lovely Hotel in a great area of town.
- 5/5
Great location. Classy old hotel. Huge room
- 5/5
Clean and Beautiful architecture
- 4/5
Not convenient to the popular attractions. But the services was great and the room was large.
- 5/5
A return to 1909 vibe, very relaxing, LOL to my man Miles kept the old man on track.
- 5/5
I loved my stay at the Sorrento. Great staff and service. Loved my room. Close to where I needed to be in Seattle.
- 3/5
This is very old fashioned hotel without upgrading in a noisy downtown area. I did not receive any any vip benefit even I personally talked to the staffs and gave them feedback. Overall, I did not received the service and benefit as a VIP member of expedia customer during the 4 nigjts in this hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel is beautiful!
- 5/5
Upgrade to a suite was very nice and unexpected - Bedding was extremely comfortable
- 3/5
They charged an additional $200 and no explanation as to what it is for
- 5/5
Classic hotel with big, clean rooms and great common areas.

Friendly staff, walkable, spacious rooms. Unfortunately I stayed in a room where road noise was loud throughout the night. Good bar/restaurant.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, elegantly furnished, has a warm European vibe.
- 3/5
I was upgraded to a huge room but it was very odd. It felt more like a meeting room. The bed was a murphy bed and the room just felt very outdated. The traffic was loud. The air conditioning kept turning off in the middle of the night. The staff was very nice.
- 4/5
A lovely old hotel, friendly and caring staff. My bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side, but was well appointed.
- 3/5
Bed was very comfortable. No housekeeping until I asked. Even then, not really cleaned well. Location was great for getting around with Uber.
- 5/5
The hotel was quite quaint. Loved our room. No view but we were only there at night. Shower had great pressure.wed stay again. Good price. Next time we will try the restaurant.
- 4/5
It’s ok
- 5/5
Loved the vibe
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
The staff made me feel very welcomed. The food and music were great.
- 4/5
It was fine. Nothing outstanding, nothing to complain about.
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. The historical yet contemporary vibe made it feel special and unique. The daily rug in the elevator was our fave! The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and our room was lovely. Highly recommend—and we’ll definitely be back!
