Old tired hotel. Poor state of repaid
- 4/5
It was a very walkable area with many close restaurants nearby. The room was clean but had a ridiculously expensive minibar in the room so bring snacks and drinks so you will not be tempted. I asked for a late check out due to my cruise time and was granted only one hour. I do not suggest this property for pre-cruise accommodations.

Walking distance to great restaurants and the parking was awesome

I must say that for it being my first time visiting Seattle, I was very impressed and glad I made a wonderful choice for booking and staying at the Ballard Hotel. This place has all. You need and selection of close by restaurants, shopping stores, bars, desserts shops. Overall the Ballard was impressive, exquisite 👌 beautiful, clean, gym, spa, bar restaurant. Loved, loved! I will definitely come.back and highly recommended.

Beautiful building Comfortable room Delicious toiletries Great location with lots to do in the immediate area Great restaurant Pillows were too puffy There was no way to turn off the heating/cooling fan. It was not needed, and it was loud.

Great front desk people and clean, well-maintained rooms. But don't get carried away by the high aggregate ratings. It's just a solid three-star hotel. The neighborhood is great for walking, drinking and eating.
- 5/5
This was a nice and convenient location. Room exceeded our expectations. I’d definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Hotel Ballard was great. Location is great if you want to spend time in Ballard near great food and shops. We stayed in one of the 5th floor roof top room and the views were great. Housekeeping and staff were also awesome.

Excellent location, comfortable and clean room, and awesome gym Only complaint I can think of is the toilet paper in the bathroom is rough ?

Location is excellent. Right in the middle of the Sunday Market, and within easy walking distance of many fine restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, and the Nespresso machine a welcome amenity.

Perfect location, clean and very friendly staff. If you drive a big vehicle, they have outdoor parking available in reserved lots about a block away.
- 4/5
Mattresses need to be replaced. They have a depression from over usage.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Terrific location. Convenient to everything, restaurants, shops and the Farmers Market. The best I’d access to the Olympic Athletic Club, first class facility.
- 5/5
Stayed for 1 night. Really nice staff, clean room
- 5/5
Staff was really friendly building is beautiful and absolutely love my rooms
- 5/5
Large, clean suite and ideal location. Right in the middle of the Ballard Sunday Farmers Market. Love.
- 5/5
Stayed for one night love the little downtown spot hotel and staff were great. Everything was clean. Has lots of character. Will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great location in a cool little neighborhood. Our room was ready early, staff was very helpful and the room was comfortable.
- 4/5
The property is lovely and well positioned to have lots of fun.The desk staff were often curt… did not feel warm. This was particularly the two male employees—- the girls were very helpful.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!
- 5/5
Loved the balcony view . Room was beautiful and clean . Most comfortable bed and pillows
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet hotel with great neighborhood restaurants. About 15-20mins from the city in taxi.
- 5/5
Clean room nice staff
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, amazing, all the things! Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Clean, gorgeous, great location, and very friendly staff! We're moving to Ballard soon and this place is so cute, it had me thinking "staycation?". Recommending to everyone I know for when they come to visit!
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Will stay again!
- 4/5
Room was nice, clean and we had a nice stay. Only negatives were the 2nd floor smelled like weed both days and the shower water fluctuated from hot to warm when taking showers. Staff was nice and helpful. Would try this hotel again, great location in downtown Ballard - nice shops/restaurants in walking distance.
- 4/5
Room was good, clean. Staff great.
- 5/5
Wow!! So impressed with the high standards of Hotel Ballard. Rooms were large, clean, and had amenities such as a larger fridge. The area surrounding the hotel was super quaint. Restaurants, bars, and local shops were all walkable. Highly recommended this property
- 5/5
Very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Ballard. Rooms were clean and comfortable and a juliet balcony a plus on a sunny fall day. Bonus to be able to overlook the farmers market and stroll up the street. Convenient parking and easy to get to main roads when needed. Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Nice staff, clean room
- 2/5
Phoned to ask about extra charges- 25 minutes on hold. Unfriendly response when I mentioned this wait time. This hotel charges high end rates (almost $400 a night) - I would encourage it to try harder. I would mention this is my actual first bad review to any hotel. So to illicit this response - I would say it wasn’t a good one.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Seems like this room needs some service fixing some things. The handle in the fridge broke, the showerhead hose is pinched and the showerhead won’t stay up.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and great location. Approximately 3 miles to the port, in walking distance of restaurants and shops. Really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooftop area is beautiful.
- 5/5
Well located. Staff is slim but friendly.
- 5/5
Love the location!
- 5/5
Hotel is nice and in a great area. The gym is beyond legit
- 2/5
The hotel has a rigid cancellation policy, and their internal policy is not aligned with what is provided via Expedia. The hotel’s policy is 72 hour cancellation notice by 4pm, where Expedia says by 6pm. I inquired with the hotel on this discrepancy and provided documentation but NO ONE got back to me. The staff i did speak to on the phone were very rude and patronizing, did not offer to help or investigate policy discrepancy.
- 4/5
Front desk staff seemed lazy- no TP in main floor bathroom . But hotel is in an excellent location hotel is unique and beautiful.
- 2/5
There were many problems at this hotel, and it is over-priced compared with hotels closer to downtown. Ballard is a fun area, but I would not stay at this hotel. No coffee shop or restaurant at the property. If you are up early, no luck. You have to wait until breakfast places in the neighborhood open around 7:30. "The room with patio" is facing an event space on the patio -- people can look into your windows and the glass door. I had to keep the curtains closed while it's light outside because strangers were walking by outside. I had reservation issues with the hotel. They charged me directly to my credit card without my authorization. I asked for refund. I gave my email so that "they will get back to me." They never did in spite of repeated request from me. I had to go through the dispute process with the credit card company.
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay. Nice area, lots of bars of restaurants
- 5/5
This Hotel Ballard, is right where I want to be.
- 5/5
Great place, very up to date and many places within walking distance
- 5/5
Beautiful European vibes in the heart of Ballard! Feels luxurious & special. Several delicious eateries steps away, including Stoneburner, Sabine, San Fermo, Situ Tacos, & more. Can’t beat the walkable location. Very quiet in room, despite the street facing balcony (sooo Parisian!). We were on 4th floor, so we could hear music event in 5th floor Pavilion, but it was over by 10pm, & we didn’t mind the fun atmosphere of live music. Bed & linens are incredibly comfortable. Love the robes. Bathroom is high quality with separate toilet room, which is always appreciated! Unfortunately, no room service; would be so cool if they partnered with Stoneburner for that! Would love if the fresh coffee was available all day in the lobby. Definitely a beautiful spot for anyone!!
- 5/5
Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ballard !! The staff was amazing and couldn’t be nicer !!! Great neighborhood, can’t say enough about this hotel !
- 5/5
We adore the property, the location and staff. We would however love a later checkout option, even if we had to pay for it. We totally understand, though that Ballard is a boutique, small hotel, and it may not make sense. But still it’s on our wish list.
- 5/5
Great location. Farmers market sets up just in front
- 5/5
Fantastic boutique hotel in a super cool location on Ballard’s best street. I love the access to the Olympic Health Club, and the well-appointed rooms at the top floors with private patios.
- 5/5
The perfect weekend, brunch retreat
- 4/5
Very nice room and hotel. The only issue was noise from Ballard avenue - pretty loud at night until around 11:45pm.
- 5/5
The hotel esthetics i.e. furniture, wallpsper, art, flooring made the stay inviting andnot pretentitious. Front desk staff professional but personable. I'll return
- 5/5
Wonderful as usual!
- 5/5
The Ballard is a great restored hotel in the middle of Ballard shopping and dining. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were in a room with access on the roof. There is an event area just outside and can be noisy if an event is going on. Otherwise very quiet and comfortable. My only complaint would be parking. The parking garage is very small and a tight space. If you meet someone on the way in or out, you will probably have to back up to make room. There is street parking but can be hard to find something in the evenings when busy.
- 5/5
This place was amazing and the staff was incredibly friendly during our honeymoon stay!
- 5/5
Great spot if you want to explore Ballard.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
This place is fantastic. While it’s the only real hotel in the area, it’s a class above most. Wish it was cheaper, but with it and will always try to stay here when in Seattle.
- 1/5
It says they have pools, but they don’t. The gym next doors has an ancient pool that has 4 tiny swimming lanes. As a hotel guest you can ”book” a lane in the pool. We stayed there for 3 days, and the only available time was 6am for 3min. The kids was very unhappy. They neither have breakfast. The staff said they often get complains about that they lie about having a pool. I was promised a refund by the person at the desk but it never came through. There are much better hotels around, I would never recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
- 5/5
Great staff and wonderful room
- 5/5
Convenient
- 4/5
Spacious, eloquent rooms in a great neighborhood full of walkable shops and restaurants. A vast gym onsite is available to guests. The brewery district is nearby, as well as the Nordic Museum, and be sure to take a walk to the docks. CJA
- 4/5
Great location for walking around Ballard and tasting the yummy food, just don’t expect much to be open on Monday’s. The parking garage ceiling is very very low, be aware! The suv we had barely fit.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Truly enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Amazing location, great staff, extremely clean hotel. Absolutely loved staying here!
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean and convenient hotel.
- 5/5
Great dining and shopping in the neighborhood
- 4/5
Service was very average, a property that this could be one of the best in the city if the staff don’t have such a miserable attitude
- 4/5
Lovely rooms. Right across the street from our concert at Tractor Tavern. Perfect spot. Amazing Sunday market right outside the front door.
- 5/5
Charming hotel with very nice and spacious rooms in a very walkable location. Sunday farmers market right outside. A very pleasant stay.
- 5/5
It is in a fantastic location in the Ballard District. We ate a delicious dinner at the Stoneburner Restaurant attached to the hotel and walked out the front door to a festive Farmer's Market Sunday morning. The room was clean and quiet and the staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Great location friendly staff
- 5/5
Great neighborhood and area for shopping and dining
- 4/5
This hotel is beautiful, the area around the hotel is lively and has many bars and in restaurants. The bed could’ve been a bit more comfortable and they only have room service for like four hours a day so I thought that was kind of different.
- 5/5
Great stay. Safe, clean and plenty to see and do in the area.
- 5/5
Lovely large hotel room loved the gym and hot tub access
- 5/5
Great location, room was very comfy and spacious. Definitely staying in again.
- 5/5
Road construction makes parking confusing. This is beyond the control of the hotel though.
- 4/5
We didn’t receive any VIP access
- 5/5
We had a great night sleep.
- 5/5
Excellent location
- 5/5
This is our go-to spot in Seattle and we stay here at least once a year. Super walkable with great shops and restaurants and Sunday morning farmers market all right outside.
- 5/5
Wonderful property. We stayed in a King room; the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. Parking was a bit of a pain to find, especially with nearby road construction. I think some clearer signage on where the parking lot can be provided but that is about my only criticism.
- 5/5
I will always come back to Hotel Ballard!
- 4/5
Mostly great. Location good. I’d stay again.
- 4/5
I did not know there was not a place on the property for breakfast, it’s not clear in the description. The restaurant attached does is separate.
- 5/5
Always super pleasant and convenient. There was a fair amount of street construction in the area to be aware of, but obviously a temporary concern
- 5/5
Great place, nice and romantic. My suburban didn’t fit into the parking garage
- 5/5
Staff was excellent. The shower was divine. The area was quiet & safe & walkable. We were in Seattle for a doctor visit at Swedish. It was great to be able to park the car in the HB garage & walk to the appointment.
- 5/5
Very quaint cool place. Hotel was perfect, if you have never been to Ballard you should do your research. Cool but a bit of a sleepy town at night. Probably better in summer months. Immediate surroundings seem sketchy but then again it’s a water town.
- 4/5
Front desk staff was on a personal call and was annoyed when I checked in. I had to remind her of my VIP status. Poor service.
- 4/5
Fabulous staff!
- 4/5
Adequate, clean, pretty, could use a concession stand
- 5/5
Excellent bed, excellent location. #40 bus is straight shot to Space Needle and Downtown. Lots of bars znd restaurants nearby. Hotel allows use of Olympic Atletic Center next door.
- 3/5
Also there were bodily fluid stains all over the couch as well as someone’s black thong in a drawer. And some of the stains were on pillows with zippers. I got a 10% discount, which… fine, but I spent much more than 10% of my trip sanitizing the room and covering up the couch. I didn’t feel like switching to another room would have been actually cleaner, just that the stains might have been hidden. For the price, that’s absurd. But everything else was so great, that I might consider staying there again. Which is really really saying something.
- 2/5
Advertised spa services were not included, but rather there was a spa and gym in the building theough a locked door you could pay per service. It was crowded due to all of the members of the public having access too. Hot tub was fine, but no swimming pool access (lane swim only by reservation with the spa). Room had no microwave to reheat food. No breakfast, the hotel openly tells you you can go to a restaurant as if that were a benefit. Minor stains in the carpet. Balcony was barely large enough to stand on, no seating. View was of the building across the street. Ended up spending my last vacation night at a Motel 8 and had better amenities for half the price.
- 4/5
The VIP status did not actually provide any free parking for Expedia guests.
- 5/5
The hotel and room was excellent, however, we had an issue with a clogged toilet and the hotel doesn’t have a house keeping or maintenance person after specific time. we called the front desk to request a person to unclogged the toilet and no one was available except the front desk person. I asked him to give me the plunger so I can unclog it myself, which he was not able to find one. I had to get up around 3 am to the lobby from the 4 th floor just to urinate at the lobby restroom. The front desk person finally left the plunger at our room at 7am and I finally unclogged the toilet my self.
- 5/5
Easy check-in. Prime location. Parking garage on-site. Clean room.
- 5/5
Great neighborhood gem. Loved the location near shops and restaurants. Parking was easy. Only issue is no nearby breakfast options. Would definitely return.
- 1/5
Complete BS to offer a pool and services that you need reservations for. I feel I did not get a good experience here. I want my money back!!
- 5/5
Great location!
- 4/5
Great stay and fun location for a night. We were mislead about parking fees by front desk staff, but everything else was good. Dark bathroom.
- 5/5
access to amazing gym clean nice neighborhood
- 5/5
Great! Really beautiful hotel
- 5/5
An upscale boutique gem that is surrounded by everything you need to enjoy your time in Seattle.
- 5/5
Love this place! The staff are stellar. The rooms very comfortable
- 5/5
Comfy beds and spacious rooms.
- 5/5
I am hesitant to provide a glowing review due to the fact that I’d like to have an available room next visit. To be fair, it truly is four stars. Staff, location to restaurants, points of interest and recreation, cleanliness, amenities. We sincerely had a wonderful visit and staff allowed us to hang around an hour later due to flight timing. I recommend Hotel Ballard.
- 5/5
Lovely stay! Staff was friendly. Fun neighborhood and great location.
- 4/5
Great for the most part. We had a suite on the roof, which was actually super quiet inside vs the noise of Seattle outside. Made for some fun people watching since a bunch of bars line the street down below. Very clean and a beautiful room. The bed was a bit stiff for my preferences but definitely not the worst. The most bothersome thing was a gap under the door to the room that let in a ton of cold air. You can somewhat remedy it by closing the seperation door between the small entry/livingroom area and the bedroom half. But that still didnt completely solve the issue cuz the heater would blow in the bedroom and then it got overly warm. If they could fix that, it'd really help overall comfort. But all in all it was a great place to stay and not a long commute to pretty much everything youd want to get to in Seattle. Im sure we will be back!
- 5/5
Excellent food, especially the flank steak at the Stoneburner restaurant.
- 5/5
Very nice. Comfortable
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, excellent location. Sunday farmer’s market right outside the front door. Lots to see in the surrounding area. We will be back. Highly recommend it!
- 4/5
Nice amenities. Clean!
- 1/5
Stay at the property.
- 5/5
The property was beautiful as well as the scenic options in the area. My husband and I made long time friends with the locals . Our service and transportation was Great!!! We are planning to revist next year!!
- 5/5
With nice shower and hot water with good pressure. Great view from our balcony. Enjoyed the big bottle of free water and use of the barrowed umbrella located in our room. Safe & walkable location with fun bars & restaurants and farmers market on Sunday. When in Seattle we will stay there next time.
- 5/5
This is a very nice hotel in a very cute neighborhood with lots interesting shops and restaurants. I am making a quick overnight trip. I am sorry that I will not be able to explore. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. I have no complaints.
- 5/5
Love it.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Small, and not overwhelming. Easy access to hotel rooms. Wonderful neighborhood
- 5/5
The property was very stylish, the rooms were spacious, quiet and modern. The restaurant needs a little help, but there are lots of options in the neighborhood. I would have preferred the restaurant was open for breakfast for hotel guests.
- 5/5
Great access to Sunday Farmer’s market!

- 5/5
Very beautiful hotel, with high end finishes. Very clean and great location for food, drinks, and entertainment.
- 5/5
Lovely urban boutique hotel! Guests get complimentary access to one of the best gyms in Seattle, the Olympic Athletic Club.
- 5/5
Great hotel and perfect location. This will be where I will stay on future Seattle trips.
- 4/5
I like the location. The property on the whole is dated. If nothing else they need to replace the hairdryers and makeup mirrors.
- 5/5
The suite was gorgeous and spotless. Beautiful historic hotel, and great location to walk to dining and shops. Loved it!
