Reviews
The Ace Hotel is highly praised for its friendly and helpful staff, as well as its convenient location. Guests frequently mention the great vibe and style of the hotel. However, some guests have noted issues with street noise and parking.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Convenient location
- Street noise
- Parking can be a challenge
- 5/5
Great location, nice rooms. Street parking was easy and we had no issues. Front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. There’s a shared kitchen with all amenities available.
- 5/5
My favorite thing about this place, however, was the staff. They were friendly, personable, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. Autumn was particularly nice and made an excellent recommendation for a local restaurant, which was amazing. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
This historic hotel was great! The staff were very helpful with recommendations. Our room was nice and clean and the king bed was very comfy. The location was great and very close to our port pier 66. The only downfall with this hotel was no elevator. There are a substantial amount of stairs to climb to get in and out of the hotel. Also, stairs to get to breakfast. But, my husband went and got breakfast and brought to our room so I didn’t have to endure the stairs as I have bum knees. Also, one very important thing everyone needs to know if you do have some ailments, downtown Seattle all slops downward to the ocean. So if you plan to do some walking this is I do you need to know. This was such a great trip that we enjoyed dispite these few minor issues.

Friendliest staff ever! This is honestly the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I will definitely rebook next time I'm in Seattle :)
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! Big shout out for making us feel welcome and for staying late to check us in. The folks at the front desk definitely made our stay. The communal bathrooms were a concern, but there were always at least a couple available and they were always well kept. Would recommend!
- 5/5
Definitely a must stay! Me and my girlfriend flew in from Texas and staff was beyond helpful with tips and tricks about navigating Seattle. Breakfast was great, rooms were clean and well put together. I would recommend this spot for any traveler!
- 5/5
This an old hotel, but clean and nice, staff was extremely friendly

Excellent location! It's central to almost everything you'd like to see near downtown Seattle and very near the water. It took 10 minutes from the link rail to the hotel, it was easy even with a carry on suitcase. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was small but very clean and comfortable. I had requested a view but didn't get one. Hopefully next time I will. Other than that, I highly recommend the Ace Hotel, and will be staying there next time I'm in town.
- 5/5
an amazing stay, truly. the staff is incredible and super helpful. will be returning in the near future. :)
- 5/5
Unique little hotel placing you right in the heart of Seattle. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating when we showed up early after being on a cruise. Allowed us to get right into our Seattle exploring. Not for everyone if mobility or handicapped, but if you are looking for a place to land you in the middle of things, this is it. Walked to Space Needle, Olympic Sculpture Park, Pike Market, and even per their recommendation to Ghost Alley Coffee and the weird gum wall. We will stay here again upon our return to Seattle.
- 4/5
Quirky small hotel with character and very friendly and helpful staff. No lift and a lot of stairs though.
- 5/5
Great location in Belltown, short walk to business district, waterfront, sculpture park, and space needle. Great price, caring personable staff, comfortable rooms with everything you need. One of my favorites whenever I visit.
- 5/5
Had a great view if Puget Sound from the window.
- 4/5
The breakfast area was really a nice touch, and the property is located in a nice spot. It's very close to anything that you'd want to do downtown. It's definitely an older property, but the staff is so kind and hospitable, and the amenities are very nice. It's very clear that they've put a lot of care into the building and made sure that people can be comfortable while they stay there.
- 4/5
Small basic rooms but worth the money Problem I have difficulty with stairs and I didn’t see anything that said no aDA access

This was our favorite hotel in Seattle!!! Absolutely stay here if you get the chance. Doug and staff were so kind, the rooms were gorgeous, and the location cannot be beat. We loved every detail and can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
Sweet staff, perfect location, yummy breakfast, and super comfy beds. Shared bathrooms were clean. The hotel has a great style and vibe. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
All good. Staff is great
- 5/5
As per usual, the room was spotless, the hotel very clean, staff there are amazing, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. This has become my all-time favorite Hotel to stay at. I will be back very soon!
- 4/5
The tv programs were hard to access. The cost seems quite high for such a basic facility.
- 5/5
Loved the vibe, clean and comfy
- 5/5
Ahem. Unless you want the room participating in the drum & bass sets of nearby clubs, please replace the exhaust fan in room 103. Otherwise, everything else was great.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and amazing staff
- 2/5
Very noisy
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and gracious, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and great walking location to all of downtown! I would come stay again!
- 5/5
They were so kind, welcoming, they gave us recommendations, they help us out, the area was so nice, it was a perfect location, and the price was not outrageous!
- 2/5
If possible book a room at the front of the hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing! I felt safe and comfortable in the building. Parking was a bit tough since the garage was closed. But overall perfect location for us! Can’t wait to stay again!
- 4/5
I was taking a cruise and it was a good deal and close to the pier.
- 5/5
Very convenient location. Staff were friendly and responsive.
- 5/5
Very nicely renovated clean
- 5/5
Great location. Great staff and service.
- 5/5
The owner went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. He and the morning staff were very helpful and friendly. The continental grab and go breakfast was just what we needed. The location was steps away from our cruise peer 66 and walkable to sites like the Space Needle.
- 5/5
Great live music and comedy venues across the street.
- 4/5
Clean quiet room
- 5/5
Easy check in. Clean facilities, common bathroom was very clean and had everything I needed. Sink in my room was very nice. Breakfast was sufficient and friendly. Great location.
- 5/5
The woman behind the desk was great! Was close to Space Needle and Pike Market. Only 3 blocks to cruise ship. Very clean.
- 5/5
The welcome couldn’t have been warmer. The room’s decor was innovative and fun, comfy bed, a little fridge, great fan to keep us cool. So many restaurants in the area it was hard to choose.
- 5/5
I love the Ace Hotel, both in Seattle and in New York City. Cool vibe.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, clean rooms, and a continental breakfast! Couldn't ask for more
- 3/5
Air conditioning was small and struggled to keep the room fresh. No elevator to help with luggage. Staff was very nice and the rooms were decent.
- 2/5
After hour access and no elevator or convent access for luggage
- 5/5
Great hotel that came with breakfast! Very clean and the staff were awesome!
- 5/5
I loved this hotel so much! The staff are all so kind and wonderful, the room was perfect. The bed was so comfortable, honestly I haven't slept that good in years. The hotel is in a great area, a few blocks from Pike's Place and a few blocks away from Climate Pledge Arena which is the reason I chose it. It was so comfortable and so quiet I felt like it was a second home. I'll stay here every time I visit. Honestly can't say enough good things about this cute little hotel.
- 4/5
They were very rude when asking me my check in time over the phone, but other than that stay was good.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, fun neighborhood
- 5/5
The original ACE HOTEL is so charming, so cool. The staff is excellent and my room was spacious and comfortable.
- 4/5
Room was great for two people. We walked to get the best pizza just down the street! Bed was comfy. The only drawback was no parking! You could drive to a garage or street parking. Yes, we got a parking ticket!
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was clean
- 5/5
Staff is super friendly and helpful, and the property is clean and simple. The decor and accommodations strike the perfect balance of sparse yet elegant— and cozy to boot. The location is great— walkable to so many restaurants and things to do.
- 5/5
Really great value for money in a great location. Shops, bars and restaurants all walksble.
- 5/5
This property was unique but lovely! Loved the design of the space, room was very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was excellent! Great location, close to the water, pike place, space needle and lots of restaurants!
- 5/5
Intimate small hotel. Convenient, 3 blocks from our cruise ship port. Loads of dining options nearby, but we opted to sit on the patio of the funky Cyclops bar, directly below the hotel. Surprisingly exceptional eats!
- 5/5
I was a little unsure about the shared bathrooms as I had never tried it before. The bathrooms were very clean and included all the basics. Defiantly recommend this place!
- 5/5
Loved the room and view
- 5/5
It is about a 15-20 walk from the Westlake light rail station. Beware, the exit from the station goes to the corner of Pine & 3rd which literally is drug addict central. Seriously, people were shooting up and smoking meth right on the sidewalk. We walked away really fast. The location is great and close to everything, but it is downtown and as in most downtowns around the country there are a number of homeless people walking around (but NOT as bad at Pine & 3rd). Just be prepared to be vigilant and don’t walk around at night unless with a group.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful experience. The facilities were clean and the staff was very nice!
- 5/5
Staff was so nice and welcoming! The place is perfect for our needs and clean. Walking distance to Pile palace Market and Space Needle.
- 5/5
Loved this place. Great location, amazing breakfast, super nice staff. I would stay again!
- 5/5
Really wonderful service
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay there very much. We upgraded our room to one with a private bathroom when we got to the property and the room was very clean and nice. The only problem was that the shower was behind the bed and the room got very humid after a shower. There was no window we could open in our room and no vent near the shower, so we had to either turn on the AC or open the door to a small deck which had a loud vent from ground floor restaurants. Nevertheless, we found the property to be comfortable and attractive and felt it was good value for Seattle at this location.
- 5/5
Stayed for 3 nights to enjoy Seattle before a cruise. Friendly staff and great location.
- 5/5
The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
Great location. Douglas was extremely helpful with suggestions and recommendations and with our luggage. Eco friendly. We had our own bath in our room. This hotel also has rooms with shared baths.
- 5/5
Had a great stay! Walkable to Pike’s Market and the waterfront. Lovely bakery across the street. Friendly staff. Calm and quiet property. Would come back!
- 4/5
Accommodated our late arrival!
- 5/5
The whole set up of this place is quite unique. An old building turned into a small hotel. Old brick walls, high ceilings and modern looking room. Location is also very central. Lots of restaurants and bars near by.
- 5/5
Amazing place and amazing people running this hotel. Very friendly. Top to bottom 10 out of 10. They make you feel like you’re a friend, part of the family not just another hotel guest. Very nice rooms, very unique setup. My second stay here in two weeks. This is my favourite hotel in Seattle
- 5/5
The folks at the Ace have been super awesome and kind during our stay, best spot in town to crash after a crazy concert!
- 5/5
The Ace is — for the price of a trip up a pretty flight of stairs (no elevator) a comfortable and clean space with pleasingly eclectic decor. Think urban hunting lodge curated by a retired archaeology professor. The staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming. Good breakfast, too! Not for seekers of “posh” or “pampering” but we would *absolutely* stay again.
- 4/5
This hotel was reasonably priced, clean and close to the cruise terminal. There is no elevator so you have to get all of your luggage up a long flight of stairs to get to the lobby. There were not any towel racks in the bathroom but the bathroom was great overall. I would stay here again
- 5/5
Love this hotel for Seattle business trips! Look forward to coming again!
- 5/5
This hotel is spacious and has amazing host staff. My room was one with an en-suite and was furinished with two large beds. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and always eager to offer assistance. Only slight drawback is that there is no elevator, so you have to carry your bags up and down the stairs. Otherwise it’s a perfect experience! Thank you, I would love to stay again next time I am in Seattle.
- 5/5
Super clean and comfortable! There were plenty of shared bathrooms that we very very clean. Great hotel in a fantastic location.
- 5/5
What a great place to stay and the location was central to everything!
- 5/5
What a cool space. Built in the early 1900’s, it is beautiful. Very nice continental breakfast too!
- 5/5
😀
- 5/5
Not your run of the mill motel
- 1/5
The room that was given to us was over a restaurant and bar that closed at early hours the next day. Way to load for actual sleep and rest. The rooms to the front of the hotel should be made into offices or storage. Everything else about the hotel was nice, clean and quaint.
- 5/5
A perfect place to stay for one night prior to NCL cruise, less than 10min walking distance to embarkament from Pier 66.
- 4/5
This was a great place in Seattle. The staff was lovely, and it was within walking distance to so many places. The only negative for us was arriving tired and jet-lagged from the East Coast and opening the door to realize we had to drag our suitcases up countless stairs to check-in. We managed fine, but this would be a deal-breaker for some.
- 5/5
Perfect downtown location. Quick walk to anywhere!
- 5/5
It was a really nice surprise, room was great , little loud . It is a beautiful building ! Staff fantastic!!! Please tell owner raises for everybody !! I approve! Nice to see a group work with the bones of an old building !!!! Not tear it down . Thanks again Monty
- 5/5
Very friendly check-in, room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my stay at the Ace.
- 5/5
This is such a cute stay, right in the heart of everything and a quick walk to Pike Place. Everyone was wildly friendly and accommodating. Room itself was clean and used space efficiently, plus a great view of the water! Very hip vibes here but not pretentious, will definitely stay here again next time we're in Seattle.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was so nice and warm. Definitely going back.
- 5/5
Amazing. Cute lil breakfast bar with the best chocolate croissants. Great, quaint, unique without feeling too hipster or uncomfortable. Staff went wayyy out of their way to help us twice. It was awesome. Good location, near many restaurants and walking spots. Just a lil loud yelling outside at night, but one should expect that when traveling to downtown spots. Would come back.
- 5/5
Best staff in the country!
- 5/5
Cute little place, great staff. One thing I thought was weird was that I could have sworn I chose the book now pay later option but when I got there they said they didn’t offer that so that could have just been my error.
- 5/5
Ace Hotel, Seattle is so intentional and caring. The kindest staff providing top of the line service. Very much recommended!
- 5/5
Although it was just one night, it was a perfect space to stay.
- 5/5
I love boutique hotels and this one did not disappoint. It was clean, comfortable and charming. They had a kitchen downstairs that offered tea and coffee around the clock and breakfast after 7a. The hotel was perfectly located a short walk from the Westlake train station, the Clipper Ferry and Pikes Place Market. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay within walking distance of Seattle’s downtown points of interest.
- 5/5
The ONLY place I stay while visiting Seattle!
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Parking was a bit of a nightmare.
- 5/5
Everything was great, except for traffic noise, window a/c unit let in outside cold air, and 23 steps up to the lobby (not good if you have hip or knee issues). Parking on the street was sufficient. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Shared bathrooms, 5, were very clean. I will book an en-suite next time. Breakfast area was pleasant and accommodating; coffee, croissants, bread and toaster, juices, yogurt, oatmeal and cereal, tea.
- 5/5
Excellence in all aspects.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
It was a great experience all around
- 5/5
Service was great, hotel was trendy but since it’s an older building the room got quite musty. Location was great and I was able to walk to most of my destinations from hotel
- 4/5
Noisy
- 5/5
Really cool spot. Really unique hotel
- 5/5
Reasonably priced, for the area; very clean and with that hipster touch that is always appreciated. Breakfast options are fairly basic, but croissants are from the celebrated bakery around the corner and they're delicious. The shared bathrooms are spotless and convenient. The area is hip, so a bit noisy, but still very safe and a few minutes from the famous market.
- 5/5
The floorplan of the room was unique and had a great aesthetic. I loved how the shower and sink were in the same area. It made it really easy to brush my teeth while my partner showered. The glass wall that separated the area from the bedroom was really neat. The hotel itself was within walking distance of Pikes Place Market and transit. I would totally stay here again.
- 5/5
5 stars!!! Friendly, attentive, helpful staff!
- 5/5
Great budget choice
- 5/5
Breakfast was fabulous- every staff member went above and beyond to make us comfortable
- 5/5
This is a delightful place, with great vibes. Amazing coffee across the street. Original Ace Hotel. Stay here if you can. Easy walk to Pike Place. Convenient on street parking or garage nearby. Walk to ferry terminal.
- 5/5
Ace Hotel is great! Wonderful staff.
- 5/5
Great staff and environment.
- 5/5
Quaint and well kept
- 5/5
This was a pleasant surprise. The room was well designed and had all the amenities needed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Their kindness was appreciated
- 5/5
Very cool location, whether you stay in a room with an attached bathroom or not. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Will stay here again on my next trip to Seattle.
- 5/5
Was looking for a small and friendly boutique hotel and couldn’t be happier with the Ace Hotel. The staff are helpful, welcoming and friendly and being able to walk down to the kitchen day or night made it feel like home. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and Pike’s Market. Highly recommend if you like unique and smaller places.
- 3/5
Very noisy especially on the weekend with street party across the street. No way to sleep without wearing earplugs if you happen to stay in the room adjacent to the street.
- 5/5
Thank you to Ace hotel for a great stay in Seattle! We booked last minute and they took us in and provided us with excellent service. Great location, wonderful staff and was even great to be able to meet the owner! Support this local hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was great and so was the location. Close walk to Climate Pledge Arena where we saw Twenty One Pilots!
- 5/5
Great location for coming on on the ferry and very friendly staff. Excellent place, will stay again.
- 5/5
..
- 5/5
The staff was very plesent and welcoming. Very heplful with directions. Continental breakfast was great! No sugar added was a plus for a diabetic. Thank you.
- 5/5
The Ace Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Seattle. As a first-time visitor, I found it to be excellently located to access all the sites of the city. The staff were exceptional and took very good care of us when our flight was postponed. The rooms and washrooms were clean and well maintained.
- 5/5
Obsessed with this hotel!! Best staff and service I’ve ever had (and I’ve traveled A LOT). Great location too! Walking distance to mopop, space needle and a bunch of other fun stuff and cute coffee shops and great restaurants!
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Enjoyed the unexpected free breakfast.
- 3/5
Little tired and stairs to lobby .. a lot
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very kind and we appreciated pleasant surprises like the coffee room with granola and pastry and a small “patio” area outside our room. Location was very convenient to Pike Place, ferries, and restaurants. We are walkers and were happy to be able to walk everywhere!
