The hotel was good, clean, conveniently located and the staff at check in was good.

Acutely musty smelling room. Had to leave when not sleeping.

The breakfast could have been better. I didn’t like it at all.
- 4/5
Overall good stay. The location is perfect for Kemah and NASA adventures. The breakfast is pretty good. There was a toy in our room on the couch which makes me feel like the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. Also, our trash was not taken out so it was overflowing when we left. Despite those things, the value for what we paid was spot on.
- 4/5
Their hotel was nice but the only thing was that our air conditioner unit didn’t keep the room too cool. It took awhile to even get close to being cool in the room. And some our extra bed sheets had a hole in it. Overall the hotel was nice and clean.
- 3/5
The doors aren’t flush in the rooms so you have to make sure the doors close behind you. Tile was lifted/loose in rooms. Breakfast was ok.

i had to try and hang towels to help cover window. the tv was not good, never had a full connection,

Stained sheets and bed covers, I don’t think they were changed at all..pillows and covers are stained as well. The shower curtain was ripped and dirty, grout in restroom floor was coming off. Elevator smelled of raid roach killer and cigarette smoke and it’s HOT Room ac is absolutely filthy and dusty, you will get a sore throat/cough the next morning from it. Pool is not heated. Breakfast wasn’t too bad and the location isn’t too bad either

This place is basically a motel six. If you have those expectations coming in, you won't be disappointed. The room was OK not super clean. There were some hairs in the shower and definitely needs a little bit of an upgrade. The staff was almost annoyed when we asked for bedding, which should've been included in our room as we were four with a pullout and one bed. The saving grace was definitely the omelette bar. The rest of the breakfast was just OK, but in comparison to the actual hotel, I was surprised they had a woman making omelettes. Definitely a cost of under $100. I paid around 150 which was definitely overpriced for this type of hotel.

Liked the omelet station that was provided for breakfast. The room was spacious and clean. Mattress was the worst, the breakfast hours were not the best, should have extended them longer. Pool was adequate and the restroom door to our room did not close. There was no hot water the first night we stayed. Room was not always cleaned daily.

Photos are deceiving. Staff (evening desk manager) was horrible. Tried to get an extra pillow due to having a shoulder replacement and he wouldn’t budge. It was my wife, our grandson and myself. He told me we could only have the 3 pillows. Then I asked for bedding for my grandson since he was on the couch and he gave me 1 sheet and a thin blanket.

The elevator got stuck for a little, Ice machine was out of order on 3rd floor and the AC in room wasn't really working until after about 30 minutes of being on. Over all the staff was nice and clean room.

Hotel has been updated with new flooring in my room, but that also shows all the dust and dirt and hair on the floor. I would suggest getting a vacuum and use it in the rooms. The bathrooms were not the cleanest either. Just lots of dirt and hair everywhere.

We stayed at this property for 4 nights in March, we picked it because of the close proximity to family in area. Hotel has been updated with new flooring in my room, but that also shows all the dust and dirt and hair on the floor. I would suggest getting a vacuum and use it in the rooms. The bathrooms were not the cleanest either. Just lots of dirt and hair everywhere.
- 4/5
On a positive note, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is perfectly adequate. However, use caution in the pool area—the edges are very jagged, and I ended up getting cut. Overall, those were the main highlights and concerns from my stay.

When I review a hotel/motel I consider many things, but the first main thing I ask myself, would we stay here again? Hotel is an older hotel, I don't know the name of the previous motel chain. I really don't understand how this motel gets a Best Western Signature Collect standard. It has a fairly new coat of paint on the outside and inside so it looks clean from a distance. It's a great stay if you like dark gray on the interior walls, this is your palace. The common areas of the motel had no AC running and it felt stuffy inside. I mentioned this to the staff and they said they had it off, but were about to turn it on. It never felt it was turned on in the lobby, breakfast are and corridors. None of the ice machines worked on the property. My sweetheart stated the room felt musty and stagnant, like a funny smell from the AC. I didn't check the air filter, but I bet it had never been cleaned or replaced. Our room AC was set to 70F, it's cooler than we keep it at the house 74F. So it should have felt really cool, but it didn't cool at all. It felt like the room was throttled to 76F. Bathroom area shower had leaky water faucets, we couldn't turn them enough (gaskets). Bathtub area had black mildew on the grout around the tub. Bathroom had a previous guest who locked there big dog up while they were away (my guess); the dog made ground meat of the door jam and the bottom of the door. Both areas were very bad and should have been repaired but they slapped a coat of paint on them instead. There's no Best Western Signature Selection branding anything...everything is generic. Nothing inside of this motel screamed BW Signature Collection, nothing. You can easily hear people walking above you at all times of the night. It has a dark gray wall color, not our cup of tea. Don't waste your time having breakfast here, it's a gimmick. Coffee taste terrible, you will be looking for a Starbucks, which is 4 miles away at the boardwalk. We should have gotten a different place to rest our heads for a night, we were to tired from our drive and came in at dusk. Didn't have the energy to leave after unloading suitcases and ice chest. It was one night...never again, you've been warned.

When you walk in there is an odd smell and someone who has taken residences in the hotel and has his shades open for everyone to see everything..we got to see him coming in and out of the shower to his room. Luckily the towel was wrapped. Most parts looked updated but when I finally got to my room I noticed there was stuff on a bed and in the bathtub. Dirty parts looked literally painted over. The smell seemed off. The tv wouldn’t work so I had to go down to the front office, there was no phone to just call. He didn’t seem to believe me and just came up so I could show him. Literally into my room. I told him it could be the batteries but it isn’t working. When looking I noticed an actual air freshener hidden behind the dresser. So I guess the smell wasn’t just us. He said the sensor was messed up and to use the tv we would have to stand and click through or there is no tv. I asked for a cleaner room with a different tv and he refused. Said the manager has to approve it and he wasn’t there. So I just left. When I left I started noticing more things. Holes in floors. Pipes randomly sticking out. Broken floors. Went to another place closer and it was much better
- 1/5
The room had a roach in the bathtub , water took a long long time to warm up. There was dirty sheets with a big foot print on it . did not smell very well. elevator was broken . I should as for a refund . We had two rooms.
- 4/5
I do not know if this can be a fair rating considering I only stayed one night however the room was clean my kids like the morning breakfast and it was very convenient to keep my boardwalk and the area was just beautiful
- 1/5
Elevator didn’t work throughout our stay and we were on the third floor. Ice machine only worked on one floor and for a while that one didn’t work. Then the last day the water heater was out so cold showers for everyone.
- 2/5
There were no coat hangers in the room at all. No "Do Not Disturb" sign. The a/c was obviously struggling and startlingly loud whenever the compressor kicked on. I travel for work and stay in hotels at least a couple of times every month, and this was noisy enough for me to feel concerned. The room got cool, eventually, but never lost the stuffy, not-enough-air, feeling. Finally, after the 5k event we traveled 2 hours to attend, we could not take showers because there was no hot water. That's when we discovered there was also no phone and no front desk info posted in the room. When I found the number and called we were told there was a problem with the boilers and maybe it would be fixed in half an hour. We left. We will not be back. Incredibly disappointing...the location of the hotel is convenient to so many things, but the facility is obviously not maintained well and the staff don't seem motivated to reassure the visitors.

Parking ok, elevator not working, no problem we will take the stairs. No hot water for entire stay. Not good, wish I would have been told and I would have gone elsewhere. Bedding had stain on comforter.
- 4/5
Pool is not heated but it was okay. Parking was okay close to the hotel. Staff was great, room was neat and presentable. Breakfast was from 6am-9am wish it was till 11 but they have a lady making any kind of omelette you wanted and that was amazing.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fantastic with an omelette station cooked to order.

Cleanliness was great, breakfast was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. I’ll be back!

Clean room. Pet friendly. Staff are respectful and friendly. Good breakfast. Close to NASA and Galveston.
- 5/5
The room was great. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We didn’t swim while there the pool looked good. Overall we were very pleased and comfortable. We would certainly consider staying there again. Staff was efficient and courteous. 🙂👍

Air conditioning unit in the room was very loud, we couldn’t sleep well, turned it off middle of the night.
- 5/5
Muy limpio 👌

I would have given an excellent if I had stayed in the deluxe room I had originally reserved when I arrived at the hotel. The room that I was given was nice.

Phone was not working. No coat hangers, we have to go downstairs to receptionist to get some. Breakfast was little

Good option to stay and economic

The bed was comfortable but the bedsheets had stains. Breakfast needs yo ne improved as its very limited with the options they give.

Room was great and staff was great

I stayed at Melrose for my daughter's birthday. Service was great, great location for us. Building and rooms were clean and updated. Only down side was the breakfast wasn't much options and the wifi never worked for me. But it was over all pretty good
- 2/5
I rate the hotel an overall two because the rooms could’ve been cleaner and we had roaches in our room in the bathroom. The beds were super hard and uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi was trash. It did not work half of the time you couldn’t watch movies without the TV lagging breakfast was a joke. The only reason they are rated or two is because staff was OK friendly and nice that’s all other than that for it to be remodel. It was not a good job.
- 1/5
I had the ask for a do not disturb tag for my door as there wasn’t one in my room, especially after having the frying pans appear. I asked housekeeping for clean towels and she told me she would give me exactly what I gave her. I gave her 3 bath towels, one bath mat, 4 wash cloths and 3 hand towels, she gave me 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels and one wash cloth. I asked housekeeper what to do with the trash, her response “I don’t know”. The amount of roaches I killed between the kitchen and bathroom was ridiculous. I booked this Airbnb/long term hotel stay with full kitchen as a home away from home investment but instead ended up spending more than I expected. I couldn’t get my money back, had no where else to go. What exactly did I get for my money? Nothing more than a hotel room. I don’t feel I should be paying any more than that, if that. I will be discussing this with Best Western. I am very disappointed with my stay.
- 4/5
There was big screen smart TV but the streaming capability was disabled and we could not access Netflix or Youtube. Only way maybe using BYO Roku stick or Chrome cast stick via one of 4 HDMI ports. However, room wifi was less than 5 mbps, inadequate for streaming movies or other content. We were disappointed not able to the big screen for streaming. The TV did offer regular cable channels via dish network i believe. Good breakfast with simple omelet made to order and Texas shaped waffle maker available! Coffee should be stronger for me but maybe good for others. Taste is subjective. Nick was super friendly and gave us a great customer service when the wall HVAC was not blowing hot air the first night. Apparently, just needed to reset but unplugging and replugging the power cable. Thanks Nick! Although excellent parking availability but the indoor pool was not heated even though the outside displayed heated pool as noted by my wife. Overal good stay!
- 5/5
Two draw backs, but that's it: not every room has a refrigerator & microwave and no heated pool, even though advertised. We rented three (3) room and only one (1) had a refrigerator & microwave. Rooms were nice, plenty of hot water with decent water pressure.
- 1/5
Although the room was clean and the staff was very nice, the blankets and towels looked dated. The room reminded me of an old motel, and there was an old, musty odor. The shower curtain also needed to be updated. Overall, it didn’t feel worth the price
- 3/5
The room was clean but worn. One of the drawers was awkwardly hanging off the TV console and didn't sit inside its hole. There were chunks of the bathroom counter missing from where they had replaced a 2-handle faucet with a 1-handle faucet. The beds felt like trampolines. Like, literally, I sat down on the bed and bounced. They were not comfortable either and had only thin sheet-like blankets, no comforters. Perhaps because it is Texas, they don't consider chilly evenings, not sure, but it would've been nice to have a little thicker blanket. The hotel is near the NASA space center, so that is a perk if you are headed there, but otherwise the hotel sits on a very busy and noisy strip (NASA Parkway), and you can hear it pretty much all night long. It is not walkable to the beach, unless you count the port where the boats are docked a beach; otherwise, it is not what we thought of as a beach. The receptionist stopped us and asked us to check in after we had already checked in, which normally wouldn't bother me, except there weren't that many guests at the hotel- we saw one other family there the whole time during a 2-night stay, and I'm pretty sure he was the same guy we passed by on our way out of the hotel to the conference we were attending.
- 3/5
Good not very expensive hotel
- 5/5
just a few things in disrepair.... as the door in our bathroom desperately needed to be replaced( the bottom was coming apart ) Pool was very clean
- 3/5
The towels are so small, thin, and rough. The room was fine but the Netflix and YouTube buttons on the remote didn’t work so only basic cable was available.
- 3/5
Mi hanno dato un’altra stanza e molto rumorosa sulla strada. Ultime 2 notti stanza 220 al secondo piano, molto bene. Staff molto gentile. Fanno omelette fresche, non comune negli USA.
- 5/5
Was a great place to stay. Nice and cozy and around a lot of places to eat.
- 5/5
They need to replace their bath towels very thin. Great price. Would stay their again!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, quiet rooms, Staff was great
- 4/5
Absolutely perfect
- 5/5
The location is near to many attractions, Kemah and NASA, and driving to Galveston where I worked for some research projects is not far。 Nick was quite helpful, and the lady always provided nice breakfast (you could request how you like your eggs cooked)。 I stayed for over a week and needed to write paper, so I did need a quiet place, Melrose was perfect for me.
- 5/5
It was awesome.
- 4/5
Only true negative is no window coverings less a misfit blackout shade.2-3” gap on sides. Not a smart tv, so be aware if you’re planning movie time. Clean, and even sofa bed was comfy.
- 5/5
Definitely a great place to stay Staff is great, management was very accommodating, I will definitely stay at Melrose on my next trip to Seabrook 💯
- 3/5
The ac was out in the lobby and the hallways and even the chocolate was melting . Also the blackout curtains aren't total blackout . The light and the noise from the road are a constant .
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay! The manager Obe is awesome. And the staff Nick, Sam at front desk great customer service very friendly and helpful. House keeping and kictjen staff awesome as well. Near kemah board walk.Hotel is very clean and comfortable!!!

Arrived late at night. Hotel did not seem to observe quiet hours so there was ALOT of noise even at 1200-0130 in the morning. Thermostat was not working so it was very hot inside the room. Cleanliness was top not and the staff are friendly and nice. Not worth the price since no breakfast is included. No fan in the bathroom also so with the sliding barn door to the bathroom there is no privacy.
- 3/5
Clogged sink. Uncomfortable, cheap beds. Seemed like new ownership so it may improve
- 5/5
This is our go to hotel, almost like a loyalty thing. Only complaint if they took out all refrigerators and microwaves without bringing down the price.
- 5/5
OB is very polite and helpful. The whole place, the whole experience, 2 nights, was a positive one. I’ll stay there again.

Staff very friendly and helpful from the time we walked into hotel to check in our room until we check out! Very clean rooms and breakfast with choices from fresh omelettes, fried eggs made to your taste , bagels, cereal, waffles, coffee, fresh fruits , OJ and oatmeal. When in Kemah , we will book here again. Thank you staff for a wonderful stay!!

Exceptional employee Obe, Hotel Manager. He has really turned property ar & rooms around. There are few challenges with weather issues regarding Wifi, but " These were acts of God." Just, appreciate there endeavors of being personable to Guest! Front desk very helpful & friendly.

Good hotel. Property is undergoing final renovations, but many renos have been completed. Only issue, had small roaches in room. I was informed they are doing pest control twice monthly. Staff is very friendly and open about what they are doing with the Inn.
- 2/5
The room was very hot no matter how low we put the ac, the indoor pool was loud and the air was hot, then there wasn't a tv in the room... for the price i expected a TV and air conditioning

Room always clean

Overseas stay was great....staff friendly....hor in the halls and lobby areas but room nicw and cool....clean!!!! I would definitely book again!!!
- 4/5
Nice hotel with a great rate. Room was nice but the floor was a little dirty. The pool need some work also. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Everyone was very nice. The facilities were clean and the AC was cold. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Nice staff, quick check in, new appliances, furniture, painting, new floors, new flat screen TV’s - the new management is really trying with the renovations. A quick turnaround stay close to Kemah boardwalk. A lot of space, suite with a couch, very cool AC, & comfortable bed. Clearly an older property that the owners are attempting to bring back to life. No room service or cleaning services. Fitness facility is closed under renovation. an Indoor pool off the lobby. No breakfast, but large dining area that will soon be available as a breakfast nook. No operable ice machine on my floor. New microwave continued to error out “Err 1” in the middle of heating left overs and needed to be unplugged in order to get a reset as door will not open even when pressing the door “open button” to take your food out.Mini fridge was new & kept water bottles cool. There was a smashed bug on the TV stand. And a live bug (roach) in the tub. The price and close proximity and the courtesy of the staff are worth noting. But I’m sure the staff will eventually get the property into a better state. Hallways have new carpeting refreshing the space. One elevator, with a working ice machine on the first level of 3 floors, snack vending machine, and drink vending machine on site. Free parking. And a 5 minute drive from city attractions. Nice last minute alternative for the price.
- 5/5
Quiet great stay
- 3/5
There was no television service and there was no breakfast service. The bathtub faucet did not work properly.
- 4/5
We had to stay here because our AC broke and it was so hot at our home. The room was nice and spacious. Luckily I am not a television person as we were informed that they did not have televisions in the rooms. This was a good place.
- 3/5
The tvs in the rooms were not working and we did not find out until time of check in. The pool and the fitness center were not able to be used. There were roaches in the rooms. The ac was not working in the common areas. The staff was however very friendly and it was a very quiet/peacefull stay.
- 4/5
The room was super big & comfortable. But it was hot. The ac didn't cool down to 60. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure. Very quiet.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff

Rooms had no TV and AC was out in lobby and halls.
- 1/5
There was also no cable due to the storm. We still didn’t really have an issue with this because we brought our gaming console, however, our tv screen was smashed and there were no extra tv’s and the available rooms didn’t have a tv either.
- 5/5
I spoke with the new owner of this hotel and he said that alot of improvments are currently being made. The room I stayed in was very clean and the staff was very nice and respectful. I really enjoyed my stay.
- 3/5
Lovely and informative staff. Clean rooms. But building was definitely experiencing some renovations. And there was no tv in the bedroom. But we only needed it as a place to sleep and it got the job done.
- 1/5
I booked this motel because it listed a Heated indoor pool.it had a pool but not heated. Also no breakfast not even coffee. I was told that there was no TV because the storm last week knocked out the cable service there wasn't a TV in the room. I called the Quilty Inn across the street to ask if they had TV service I was told Yes there was no problem with cable service. I will not book Captain Inn again I was very disappointed

Staff entered my room while I was not there and left the door propped open so anyone could enter. Not safe, no phones in rooms, no cell service on property.

Was dirty and had no tv in the room. Didn’t stay, we decided to cancel and go to a different place. Photos on hotels.com are misleading

Hotel price gouged afterbhurricane beryl. We booked inline at 62 per night and they tried to charge 160 per night at the counter. Beware!

Everything was good except th refrigerator didn't work.

The hotel was under renovation when we stayed but it was still a great experience and great staff

As soon as you walk into the building it was HOT. The elevator took too long & was steaming hot. Didn't get the king size bed room I had reserved. Get to the room & the TV was broke...like they shattered the screen. The front desk said all the TVs were broke. How can they rent rooms with no TV? We didn't have any trash cans. The water was dripping out of the faucet they didn't even fix it and it had a water leak.

I’ve stayed here twice in a month No tv service No working refrigerator

For the price it’s well worth the stay. The managers are super nice and although renovating they accommodated my family of 6 and two pets. Customer service alone is a 10. Maybe not be a super fancy place but def worth a try. I’ll only stay here when I come to Kemah.

No TV in room. The young lady at the front desk was rude about the area being hit by a hurrican and I should be grateful they had power. I live 8 miles away, I am well aware there was a hurricane. No microwave. The refrigerator doesnt work. The toilet didnt flush. They give you two hair towels and no body towels. The hair towels are the body towels. There is no ocean or bay near this hotal. The pictures are false advertisements. The pool was green with a yellow hue and reeked of clorine. The roof isnt cloudy. I reserved the elite room with the jacuzzi and the young lady at the front desk said I didnt and they didnt have any of those rooms available. Then she tried to be slick and say I just upgraded your room. The bed was super comfortable. We did have a cockroach show up to the room. The yard is a mess with a fowl smell. The ac worked which during this time was a blessing. But yeah as far as the tv, there is literally no tv in the room.

The rooms need better ac. It was a bit hot.

This hotel had single phased power after Hurricane Beryl but continued renting rooms with no AC, microwaves and refrigerators didnt work. I booked my room online.... When i got there, they said to buy a fan from Walmart. I had a fan in my truck bc I'd been sleeping in it bc no hotels had availability. Tired and hot, I gave it a whirl. Plugged the fan in and it would barely rotate. Like a 3rd of normal speed. Wouldn't even charge my phone. Said hell no, Im better off in my truck. This hotel owes everyone who booked a room hoping to escape the heat to only get screwed over a full refund during that period. All the lights in the Hotel were dim and coming in and out. They knew they had problems and just told people to buy a fan. Greed. I know nothing about this hotel other times. Maybe its great but not refunding people when you have no power is terrible.

They did not have power when i arrived.

Pool has been redone & my grandkids enjoyed themselves very much!!

My room was amazing except for no TV at the time
- 5/5
The room was actually as nice or nicer when compared to my usual hotel, but 1/3 the price. They are in the middle of renovating so there was no cable or a refrigerator or lobby AC, understandably so Rooms had great AC, which they had turn on for us ahead of time. As for the TV just go buy a $30 Amazon Fire Stick (still with that investment less than half the price of my usually) and you have TV.

No cable. AC did not work. Sweated all night. Half the lights in the room did not work. Fridge did not work. Bath tub was rusty and stained. Windows do not close securely. Woke up at 3am to the feeling of bites, did not see any bed bugs, so must have been a flea infestation. Hands down the absolute worst hotel experience of my life! Run!! Don’t even think about booking this hell hole!

Great place but will be better after renovations. But clean, quiet and great staff willing to accommodate.

Severe health risk, mold mildew, non working A/Cs. Pool does not work. No TV Channels, owner says no to re-imbursement. Being reported to Seabrook's health department. Also, BBB. DONT RESERVE THERE, EXPEDIA WAS NO HELP!

Air was barely working Honestly, bad experience

This hotel was absolutely disgusting ! Walked in & immediately seen cockroaches in the bathroom. I even seen one in the fridge. 1000% do NOT recommend!

Arrived about 9pm. Parkng lot had unsightly trash from the dumpster. No AC in the lobby and it was hot and stuffy. They are in the middle of a remodel so it had a very heavy smell of fresh paint. At check in I was informed that the TV was not working. The room did have.ac and was cozy. The remodel doesn't look like they are including doors or trim as the bathroom had just been painted over. It was cheap and quiet.

The property is being renovated. Dining room wasn’t set up, ice machines not working, elevators not working. Short staffed. Rooms didn’t have tvs or telephones. Had old microwaves in there and refrigerator that barely worked. It’s hot in the lobby where you check in but cool in the rooms. The tub in my room had water squirting outside the faucet on to the floor.
