Holiday Inn Express Scottsdale North by IHG

This place has really gone down hill over the last couple years! Thankfully it's being remodeled - better late than never! I will not be staying here again until the remodel is finished. Bathrooms are musty and mildew scented, carpets are disgusting, and walls are way too thin, as you can hear every word spoken in the rooms around you.

Short overnight stay. Beds comfortable

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is currently under remodeling, so for the moment, things are in upheaval. They will obviously be much better once the remodeling is done. My room was mostly clean, but the floors are definitely aging (hence the remodel). The iron did not work in my room, and there is no coffee maker in the room. The fridge had some very old ice cream sandwiches left in it, so I know it hadn't been cleaned out in some time. They were tucked back on a shelf so someone would have to look closely, but there were a few of them. Breakfast had decent options, and the eggs were warm. The bed was clean and comfortable so it was good for a one night stay.

I had to be changed rooms 3 times do to construction, things weren’t working in rooms and not having my king (reserved) room not available. I will say the staff did all they could and helped at each problem as quick as possible. It just sucked having to go through all of that.

Hotel is under renovations. We were informed that there would be no water for a short window of time during our stay. First room we walked into had a very strong smell of sewage. We asked to switch rooms and thankfully the front desk was able to accommodate a new room with no issues. Other than the initial problems, everything eventually worked out well.

The staff are all very friendly and the breakfast was superb. My wife loves the cinnamon rolls. The property was being remodeled, and all of the removed furniture was piled on the side of the walkways and in the parking lot. I really don’t like polyester sheets. They are very uncomfortable.

The room was nice and clean but repairs and maintenance showed wear.

Breakfast was good and staff were nice and friendly I like how they have unlimited water bottles because I need water And use it for the coffee in the room.

They were under a renovation so it is hard to keep things pristine but they did their best! Breakfast was the highlight of our stay great omelets and the cinnamon buns were amazing. Great stay can’t wait for return trip next week!

The price was good, the free breakfast had lots of options and was good and the back door to the pool. The back door lock was not working, the fridge kept going out, the phone didn't work and when we called go get assistance, they couldn't get anyone out until the next day (okay, that's fine) but then no one came to fix any of it. Also, the place is under renovations and it really needs it.

Since our plane was delayed we called ahead to notify that we would be checking in very late after midnight. Night clerk very helpful and accommodating, he even helped us find a parking spot. Housekeeping only cleaned our room 2 days out of 5 after we requested fresh towels and garbage emptied. Breakfast was average, some items cold because people left the lids open but could be heated in the available microwave. Nice having coffee available 24 hours and lemonade and cookies during the day. Pool area great, hot tub temperature could have been hotter. The phone in our room rang several times with nobody on the other end, twice in the afternoon, once at 6am and once at 2:48am. Reported to the front desk, no explanation but suggested to unplug. Also construction being done, water shut off for 2 hours one day. Ice/water machine not working on 2nd floor.

Excellent value. Decent hot breakfast with pancake maker. Really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. 24 hour fresh ground coffee maker in the lobby area very nice plus. They also served cookies and lemonade in the afternoon, and free bottled water. They were renovating one of the third floor wings (May 2026), so the front desk person kept us as far as possible away from the construction. Overall I thought they did a great job of accommodating us; better that I expected. Definitely a big step up from the budget hotels; worth the few extra dollars.

My room was clean for my stay but the room itself was very weathered. Stained bathtub, worn and outdated furniture. That said, there were signs of rooms being updated so I think I just had an older room. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent and was different each day for the hot food.

My room was located on the third floor. The halls were dimly lit and at the end of the hall was a blue curtain that appeared that there may be some construction or remodeling going on behind it. Between that and the dimly lit hallway, I did not feel safe going in and out of my room. Did not expect that in Scottsdale.

Room looks clean but dated. They’re renovating now so rooms should be nice soon. No microwave but small fridge. Breakfast wasn’t very good. They served powdered eggs and sausage as well as oatmeal, pancakes, muffins and sweet rolls. The second day they replaced the powdered eggs with pre-prepared omelets. They make a big deal about their breakfast but has a long way to go to say it’s great.

I just stayed one night. Checked in at 8:30pm and there was apparently only 1 person working the desk. He was called to a room to deal with an issue and 3 people were waiting to check in. I waited 10 minutes without knowing what was going on. The hotel should really not leave just one person to deal with the entire property. It seems unsafe and risks clients having frustrating experiences. other than that, everything was just as I expected.

Visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation about 10 minutes away. Comfy room, breakfast, cookies and pay laundry made for a great stop. It was fine for our purposes

The room felt old, with a wet-carpet smell; the bathroom didn't feel clean, and the tub was painted. You could see the paint fading, the rubber water knob leaked the whole time we were there, and the TV remote never worked. I let the front lady know at checkout time. She didn’t seem to care and was rude. She was too busy massaging her head and never noticed me standing there waiting to be checked out!!

The breakfast was not too exciting. Had two sausage options but no potatoes or bacon or biscuits and gravy. Very small area to eat at. Area that you pick up your food was very warm uncomfortable.

The breakfast was very good. The grounds were very nice. The pool was shut down the entire time, during over 100 degree temperatures every day. A girls soccer team, lots of families with children (like us), were extremely disappointed. Spring break. No apologies from the staff. Only comment was that they were waiting for the maintenance guys to show up and fix it... Also, there was no microwave in the room or information about restaurants, shopping, nearby attractions, etc in the room.

Breakfast very cookie cutter. Powdered egg omlets! We have stayed here three times in the past 2 months. The location is perfect for us and the room and bed comfort is great.

The hot tub was nice. The shower was insanely small, like an RV shower. In spite of the admittedly dated decor, the room was clean and bed adn pillows were amazing. The property is going through renovation, and we were told ahead of time what to expect with that. Would stay there again and looking forward to the updated decor.

Very disappointed that the whole pool area was closed because of a broken gate. Really? Came for a baseball tournament and specifically wanted the hot tub, 1st floor near the lobby also smelled like sewage several nights. Pretty gross. Room way down the hall was good however

Just an overall awesome hotel! Pool and hot tub was amazing, staff was kind and helpful, room was 10 out of 10, location was awesome, and the breakfast wasnt half bad. Also if I sine up to me a reward member that is free your deposit will only be 50 bucks and u can get up to a 2pm check out

Front desk staff is a little less than personable, but the property was well kept and I can’t say enough about the breakfast attendant, she was so sweet and everything was stocked and delicious. She was wonderful, an asset to Holiday Inn for sure. The room was clean and the bed was so comfy! We love holiday inn express because they are dependably great every time.

The room was situated in a great spot. Clean and quiet , with a much- appreciated generous breakfast included. The complimentary parking was a big plus.

Hotel is older needs more modern updated rooms. Also not Customer service friendly. Tried to get a receipt when I checked out but they said they couldn't access the system.

Great stay. Service was friendly and efficient . We received free water bottles whenever we needed them. Property was very clean and pillows were comfortable. Our room was the perfect size. The hold on our room was refunded very quickly. I would definitely stay there again. The price was perfect too!

The rooms are fairly outdated and not very well maintained but the property and lobby are nice. The front desk agents were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

Loved all the ammenities and the great breakfast. The lady that made the breakfast the morning of June 28th was amazing. She did a wonderful job with all the breakfasst items epecially the egg entree.

The walls were paper thin, one of the elevators (the most convenient) only worked for a day and a half out of the 4 days/5nights, the tub and bath sink drain did not drain properly, breakfast was just mediocre and the area was very warm. Employees for the most part were friendly, property was clean and convenient.

The location was ideal for our needs. The property felt safe, clean, conveniently located, and appropriately priced. Only issues were that our television was not working initially (called staff and it was fixed within 10 minutes) and the hand soap in the bathroom was out (staff provided a small bar of soap when informed). We did not take advantage of the other amenities (e.g., breakfast and the pool) but appreciated that the option was available. We would feel comfortable staying at this location again.

Friendly staff, well run, for a budget option in an expensive part of town a great choice. The rooms are big, and the property is well run (even though the elevator was temporarily out of service).

The thing I liked the best was the lovely lady who took care of the kitchen during the week. She was cheerful, pleasant and helpful.

I was offered an upgrade without a charge by the front desk, and then at the end they charged me full price. It seems like there was a.person with similar last name checking in the same day and the guy at the front desk got confused. I have to paid the upgraded room when I didnt ask.for it. Disappointed

The room itself was great, however the service was severely lacking. Their computers were supposedly down when I was trying to check in but they did take my info and gave me the room. The elevator was out so I had to take the stairs. In the middle of the night they tried to charge my credit card, but it was way more then the amount it was supposed to be. They did not honor the hotels. Com price that I reserved the room for. Ended up checking out the next morning. Felt very scammy and was very disappointed in this holiday inn site

The walls are so thin it sounds like the room next to you is in your room! Very dirty bathroom and we found dog treats under the desk and on the side of the bed. Had a slight urine smell.

Dimmer switch on our in-room clock (extremely grody and looked like it was from the 1980's) was broke and stuck on dark which meant we literally couldn't see it at nighttime. Hand soap in the bathroom was actually attached to the wall 5'8" off the floor and 4 feet away from the sink making it extremely awkward to use. There was a rather large gash in our tv screen. There was a "Rest Easy" card in our room that stated that our room wouldn't be serviced unless we scheduled a time with the front desk. The clerk at the front desk didn't know what we were talking about and said our room would be serviced every day unless we put out the Do No Disturb card. The main entrance to the hotel from the pool had a sign that read, "Use key card for entry after 10:00 p.m." The door was locked 24 hours a day the entire time of our stay. Garbage cans outside the front door were emptied every morning, but by midafternoon were full and overflowing but never got emptied again until the next morning. Trash remained on the ground until then. We had a 7-night stay and were given a room directly above the hotel dumpster. Would not recommend. Won't stay at Holiday Inn again.

I enjoyed the pool area with relaxing furniture and canopy shade options. Secluded area and quiet surroundings.

Clean hotel and friendly front lady. After a long hike, it was fun to sit in the courtyard and go swimming.

We were only there for one night and did not partake in amenities that were offered. Cleanliness and comfort were excellent for what we needed

Hallway is dark/bad lighting. Good breakfast. Could use new carpet in room. Older property but clean room. Pool and hot tub good. Soft bed.

It will be great if the bathroom comes with a fan and if soap is at the sink and not on the walls.

It's an older property. No USB outlets in the room. Older furniture. No light in the shower when the curtain is drawn. Minor quips. I would expect more at this price point.

The room was nice and clean. The staff was very nice. It was nice that coffee and water bottles were always available.

The first floor was a bit noisy at times.
