    The amenities were good and the size of the suite was pretty nice. The place was very dirty, the guy at the desk looked very unprofessional and stank like an ash tray, the kay cards are obviously very old scratched up, there were multiple guests who were frequenting the hallways that made me feel like they were keeping an eye on us, one room in my hall had really strong marijuana smell coming from it, the noise in the stair well was like an electrical hum but it was loud enough to hurt my daughters ears

    Undergoing renovations. Renovated rooms were nice, properly equipped with kitchen utensils. Not fancy but not overpriced. Manager and staff very nice. Could use more choices for channels on television.

    I always stay here when I come to schaumburg. Once I found this hotel, I haven't gone anywhere else. It has what you need. Big spacious rooms, very nice bathrooms, a gym, laundry room, free WiFi, nice tv, across the road from the mall and restaurants. Good pricing. What else can you need. Nothing.

    The location was great. The gentleman that checked us in was really nice. The room was absolutely disgusting and clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. The walls and light switches were visibly dirty, and the overall condition of the space felt neglected. The microwave was literally taped together, and several of the kitchen glasses were cracked, which is both unsafe and unacceptable. The couch was covered in noticeable stains to the point that we didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it. The carpet throughout the room was also heavily stained. The TV in the living room area repeatedly cut out, making it unusable. The bathroom was in equally poor condition; the toilet seat was falling apart, and there was visible mold on the ceiling, which is a serious health concern. Even basic fixtures were broken, like the closet handle being completely missing. To make matters worse, in the morning we discovered ants throughout the room, especially around the windows. Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep of this room were far below any reasonable standard. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.

    This brand used to be Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham. The remodeling they did with the granite counters, carpets, floors & decor back in 2014-15 is comforting to see hold up over time & this location has remodeling coming up under the MainStay Suites (Choice Hotels) banner. The stench of dogs is over the top. The maintenance of the building needs full-time attention. The bathtub and kitchenette drains would not allow water to drain out properly.

    This hotel was absolutely disgusting. I should be reimbursed some of my money spent on this hotel. I have pictures and videos of it to prove. The curtains were sliced in strands ripped apart, nothing was clean. Literally filthy. Disgusting. Says it is a 100% smoke free and pet free building. Everyone smokes cigarettes and pot. The rooms smell of smoke terribly. As someone staying for medical reasons at the hospital in the city, I could not breathe. I requested a new room and the guy at the desk was rude and did not apologize he immediately said "WELL YOURE NOT GONNA GET A REFUND!" there was dog feces in the hallways and stairwells. People coming and going at all hours that do not even belong there. The lobby full of partying smoking pot. The linens were dirty, the dishes dirty. I had to buy cleaning supplies and clean the room before we could even move our stuff in. I ended up going to doctor, my back was so bad from the terribly used and worn out mattress on the bed and sleeper sofa. It was all falling apart. Even the wall art had water damage stains across it. Housekeeping did not show up once in 3 weeks. I continued to buy my own cleaning supplies and linens. The toaster was full of old food. The cook top disgusting. The table carved into graffiti. The windows were so filthy you could not see outside. The TVs are extremely old and outdated, also small. The internet was out most of the time. The key cards have to be activated EVERYDAY. Always locked out. DISGUSTING!

    The greeting from the front desk at check in was anything but enjoyable. He clearly didn’t care for his job. The lobby and hallways reeked of fish. There was a dog three doors down from us barking all night long, another neighbor was yelling and fighting on another night. Good location and alright price for the room however we will not be back.

    Absolutely Love Mainstay Hotel in Schaumburg! They do every little thing right! I normally stay at double tree Suites Hilton. Mainstay offers more! Same high quality professional staff! Better service too! They help with your bags! There's an element of cooking, my Hyatt or Doubletree Suites doesn't offer. Mainstay has beautiful countertops, smartly designed cabinets, a dishwasher!! Huge bathrooms, perfect lighting!! The staff is exceptional. J.J. manages the property like a Downtown Pro! I've worked for a real estate magazine read by building owners and educated property managers for 30 years. He Rocks!! One conversation with Jasmine brought me to Mainstay after I've canceled my prior reservation, I was there the next day! No regrets. I was Very pleasantly surprised. John was Awesome in allowing me to choose my room, very professionally guided me. He provides a family friendly atmosphere. He helps us with our bags! As a woman traveling alone, he made me feel very comfortable and safe there. Jasmine and John Excellent at their jobs! Very patient as he had to rekey my room many times. It kept getting demagnatized.Every request was fulfilled very quickly! Including replacement of a toilet seat that was broken! Wow! Jorge came right away and did a Great Job! Kevin made my stay here very enjoyable. He went above and beyond searching for a pot to replace the one in my unit. Put in a request for my every need right away. Housekeeping is Excellent as well!! They insisted upon changing my bed for me on a different day than requested rooms are very clean!! Air quality is Great too! I'm environmentally sensitive. I have no issues with mold. No bed bugs. No bugs. It doesn't smell like chemicals. As a result, I've joined the Choice Hotel program and signed up with their travel club! I've received 250 points and 8 vacations! Hallelujah! They offer one low price of $279! If the other hotels are like this one? Not one thing

    The room had a dog in it when w e checked in moved rooms and that room was disgusting. Stains all over the furniture had to put sheets done to sit on couch. There was mold everywhere in the kitchen and bathroom. Ac didnt work. Manager did nothing...we were on 2nd floor our friends on 3rd and she had cructhes and elevator was broken.     On Friday, December 5th, 2025 around 3:15pm as I was sitting on the bed I heard the heating/cooling system on the wall make a disturbing sound and then there was a burning smell that followed. The heat had been working just fine beforehand. The room was set at 73 and went down to 71. I had ordered a small pizza and mozzarella triangles from Giordano's. I put the box with the rest of the pizza on the flattop stove.

    Upon arrival, we found stained bedsheets, and when we called the front desk to request clean ones, the man who answered told us to bag them up and bring them down ourselves. That alone was unacceptable. We stayed for 5 days and noone stopped by our room a single day, even when requested. When we went to use the kitchen, we discovered there were no clean dishes in the cabinets . They were all in the dishwasher, still dirty from the previous guests. The nights were loud and restless due to ongoing construction noises. On our second morning, we noticed a horrible smell in the room. After looking around, we discovered an old bra and thong behind the bed. Absolutely disgusting. When I brought this up to the front desk again, the staff seemed indifferent and offered no apology or solution. Overall, this stay was unsanitary, noisy, and handled with zero care or professionalism. We are extremely disappointed and will not be returning

    The entire hallway stank from recent cooking efforts by the previous occupant or a neighbor. The parking lot is blanketed with goose droppings. Long term residents loiter about outdoors to smoke, while numerous cars in the lot have plastic over smashed windows. Overall, not an upbeat place to stay.

    The room was super nice, a little outdated but still nice. Definitely will consider for another stay in the future. Felt very homey and the hallways and rest of the building were clean and nicer then most of the places Ive stayed at lately. There were some oddities in our room but nothing that made the stay bad and the property felt safe and parking was easy and convenient.

    They had to downgrade my room from 1 queen bed and and pullout to just 1 queen bed for myself, my teenager daughter and my granddaughter. So we had to share a bed and by a childs air mattress so my granddaughter didn't have to sleep on the floor. We stayed for 8 nights. Our 6th night i had to keep the girls in the room because another guest a couple rooms down from us (on the 1st floor) was masterbating in front on his open window. Other than that our stay wasn't horrible. We were there for a nationals dance competition, so we weren't in our room much.

    Building was run down, room stuck in 90’s - bathroom door did not close…. My toddler kept going in the bathroom because a simple door wouldn’t shut. Place had sketchy people hanging around, definitely do not recommend for families or solo travel. Place has seen much better days, also no breakfast in this day and age even extended stay has basic breakfast.

    When we arrived, we were told that the elevator to our third floor room was out of service, but would be fixed immediately. Seven days later and way too many trips up and down three flights, we learned that their promises were bold face lies. yesterday, a woman passed me on the stairs and complained that she’d been there for three weeks and it had not worked one day. So this is not a short term problem. Once we got to our room we had to have housekeeping come and vacuum because the carpet was still dirty. The phone didn’t work in the room so we let them know about that as well. They took the phone to fix it and of course never returned it. Yes, seven days without a phone in the room. This stay was disappointing to say the very least the front desk seemed like nice people unfortunately they didn’t follow through or just outright lied to us.

    The rooms we booked were so dirty and not properly cleaned and set up. The chairs were all stained and had a layer of dirt. The mattress under the bedsheets were awfully dirty and old.The floors were sticky the couch had a layer of pet hair all over it. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain properly and the floors were also very dirty. I wouldn’t stay here again.

    When i paid online i was under the impression breakfast was included only to find out when we got there it wasnt. The room and whole hotel had a funky smell. The couch in the room was filled with gross stains. No ice machine. Someone in a room by us had a dog that barked all night. Absolutely terrible stay. Never going back again

    I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding our recent stay at your hotel. The conditions we encountered were entirely unacceptable and, in several cases, unsafe. We believe a full or partial refund is warranted based on the following serious issues: Cleanliness and Room Condition: Dishes were left dirty in the dishwasher, including a pot with burnt food. The provided silverware was inadequate — for example, only one spoon was available. Stains were present on both the couch and mattress. The couch mattress was ripped, worn down, and uncomfortable, with exposed springs. A spare blanket was wadded up into a ball and appeared unsanitary. No fitted sheet was provided for the pull-out mattress. Safety and Security Issues: Side doors intended for keycard access were often unlocked or would not close properly, leaving the hotel accessible to anyone. We had to manually attempt to shut one door that would not latch securely. After a keycard malfunction, my husband was issued a new room key without any verification beyond stating our room number — a major security concern. We experienced a highly disruptive incident where another guest was screaming for over an hour, which required police intervention. This is the major issues.

    I understand that this hotel allows dogs, however there was dog poop scattered all over. Some of it looked like it had been there for days. The trash can at the end of the hall had full trash bags sitting around it. The furniture in the room waa dirty and worn. The curtains were old and had stains on them. Not to mention they were hanging off the rods. I only had one fork. The kitchen sink didnt drain and the garbage disposal didnt work. There wasn't any dish soap. The ice maker in the freezer took just about my entire stay to make 2 cups of ice. If it were possible i would love to get a FULL refund. I have photos of everything that I have put in this message. Oh cant forget the piece of bread that was left in the cabinet. It was hard as a rock. Maybe a few weeks old.

    It was a very busy weekend in the area so I’m not sure if they tried cutting corners on cleaning the room. The room was pretty dirty full bag of garbage in room when we arrived, no soap of any kind, no shampoo and no blankets for sofa sleeper. The bathroom floor and toilet were pretty dirty with a fair amount of hair.

    DO NOT STAY HERE. Stains all over the bed, stains on the walls. Mold growing in the bathroom. Dirty mattress. Wobbly furniture. Dried stains on chairs. Holes in mattress. The hotel is non smoking but the hallways smell like cigarettes. I asked for more blankets and towels and was told they don't have extra blankets and I have to give back the dirty towels before getting more. Without notice, housekeeping comes up and gives us a blood stained and worn out blanket and stained towels. Absolutely disgusting.

    - dirty and sticky floors, dirty walls, dirty coach - things were broken: heater, window screen, - walls had stains. - I got sick becuase the sheets were dirty and caught a cold and must not have been replaced. - horrible smell as you entered the room.     Check in was very simple and accomidating. The room is very clean, lots of room. Electric stove, microwave, full sized fridge and freezer, qlong with a dishwasher filled with pots pans plates bowels and utensils . Shower is big and has hot water. Wifi here is free and high speed. Bed is very comfortable. And esa dogs stay for free. Would stay again and would recomend.

    Upon arriving, the first room we were in smelled of smoke so bad that it made me sick. I am generally not picky, but it was bad. All of the lights were on in the room, the couch cushions were disgusting, and the table and counters were very dirty. We requested a less-smoky room and the front desk worker was very helpful to move us. The next room - smelled horribly of air freshener, likely trying to cover up the smell of smoked. It was a bit cleaner, but this sofa was kinda stained as well, and overall the room was kinda gross. The sink was clogged with standing water and the garbage disposal didn’t work. The TV was small, I’m guessing 32 inches. There were spots on the ceiling where it looked like the popcorn ceiling was coming apart and it was simply taped over with clear mailing tape. The shower has hardly and pressure and overall the room was just kinda gross. My son slept on the pull out sofa bed and the mattress was maybe 4 inches thick and he said you could feel all of the springs from the frame to poking through and it was very uncomfortable. The WiFi signal was also very weak and the walls VERY thin. All in all, we wouldn’t stay here again. It didn’t feel unsafe, so I guess that’s good. It was the lesser expensive option of nearby hotels, but I don’t think the savings made it worth it.

    We needed a suite hotel to accommodate our family of three adults in suburban Chicago for a visit with family and a celebratation of our daughter's birthday. Main Stay Suites in Schaumburg seemed the perfect for our mini-vacation. There was plenty of room with more than adequate kitchen space and appliances, a nicely-sized living room with sofabed and chair and a main bedroom with a chest, nightstand and closet. It was an ADA unit so the bathroom was exceptionally large. We enjoyed our stay after sorting out the misleading pet policy on the 3rd party travel pet site. Our recommendation to the management group of this hotel is that it be cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom including common areas with tile and carpeting and that delapidated furniture be replaced with items from this century.

    I've stayed at a lot of extended stay properties and this is one of the few that I enjoyed. The other guests were quiet and respectful of each other. Every staff member was helpful and pleasant. My stay here made my entire visit to pleasant because I was able to cme back to my room and enjoy a peaceful place to rest.

    When we arrived there were people standing outside the front doors smoking. And when we were getting checked in had to sign a waiver to not have any pets. But when we went to our room it smelled like strong cat piss.so we called to get another room and when we went downstairs we noticed that there were police cars outside. When asked about it the desk attendant acted like he didn’t really care and wasn’t trying to find out what was going on. One of the people staying there said there was a shooting. So we left.would love to get our money back.

    The elevator was only 1 and slow. On our am ride on it there was a pair of cleaning gloves thrown in the corner. Our room had shampoo, but no conditioner. The room was sparsely appointed overall. No place to fill a water bottle.

    Very friendly and accommodating staff! We were upgraded at no cost to a very roomy and comfortable suite. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in, as were the pillows! We are NOT exaggerating! We could open the windows about 4” to let fresh air in. And none of that horrible, cloying cover-up spray was present in the room or hotel. All in all, a GREAT stay for the price. We shall definitely book there again.

    The layout of suite was great. We had our xhoice of floor and chose third floor. Quiet first night. Very loud second night. Hotel hall carpet is ripped and dirty. Our room had spots not cleaned. Someone's sock laying on floor, bathroom wall was dirty and stained, floor in kitchen was dirty. Staff were great. Check in was easy.

    The place I stayed was convenient and quite nice to stay in, with a layout more like an apartment. It was a little old fashioned but not terribly so. Wifi was highly inconsistent. Staff was kind. There were a lot of suspicious people loitering around during check-in late at night outside the hotel, but they didn't really bother me. Definitely fine for the price.

    Easy and quick check in. The room we stayed in was fine for our one night stay, but felt dirty. The security lock on the door was loose and there were some items through the suite that didn’t look like they had been cleaned in a little while. Overall wasn’t a bad stay. Would recommend for a short stay.

    We liked the location very close to Woodfield Mall and restaurants. Location seemed pretty safe. Garbage cans around the property were emptied fairly quickly during the week, but both weekends the garbage just piled up. We told the front desk and it was promptly removed. Front desk responsive. Coffee every morning was excellent! Would stay again. Thanks for a great stay!

    Reserved two rooms for family. They put us on 1st and 3rd floors on opposite ends. Reservation said queen beds but they were full size not queen. Some dog hair on bed. Sink completely plugged in one room. No commercial ice machine and the one in our fridge didn't work. Guy at front was friendly at least and it was a place to sleep so it worked.
