Bad staff

The room did not have a hair dryer but we were able to get one from front desk. The tv as not working when we got there but we did get a few channels that night. The bed has some kind of plastic under the sheet ( I guess to protect the mattress) but it was uncomfortable. I will not be staying again.

The staffs told me the security deposit amount is refunded in my account. But they are not telling the truth. It is 10 days already finished but i haven’t got my money.

The manager of extended stay America, Schaumburg name is Mihir who assured us that the security deposit is already refunded. But it is not true. Till now we have not received anything.

So, the last 24 hours I saw 4 roaches, I was itching uncontrollably and unpacked and shook all my belongings twice for fear of taking them with me. I did not sleep last night because I was fearful of them crawling on me. I will never stay here again and do not recommend. I understand people are not all clean but nothing was done for my discomfort or my mental health. My anxiety has me itching right now just thinking about it. I feel I should have been compensated for part of my stay. Roaches are nasty and can become a huge problem if not addressed. I am still fearful that one may have gotten in my luggage. This one was ok. The area is good just a little dark. I didn't like stands the bed was on . I was also in a corner room so it was hard to see my vehicle.

I didn't stay. I immediately booked a different hotel. The front desk Gentleman was nice. The room was dirty, smelled of smoke so bad that my cloths reeked after just 3mins inside the room. The condition of room itself was bad. The floor was peeling up. There was a hole in the bathroom door. There were cigarette burns on each surface. They state they are a “Smoke Free Hotel”, impossible. The caulking on the toilet was so bad it was an inch (in some places two inches) away from the toilet. Just random white caulk on the floor. The shower head had pink/yellow crust on it. The lock on the door didn’t stay closed, it swung open as soon as you let go. The kitchen area was dirty and looked like the appliances were from 1970. The microwave hadn’t been clean in what looked like ever. I didn’t look inside the fridge. The hall reeked of curry. The overall look and feel of this hotel was not clean and broke down. I am so glad I didn’t bring my belongings up with me at first because they would have smelled for the duration of my trip. I ended up tossing my sweater. It was gross.

Toliet was clogged all night we called 3x and never got a plunger. We went down to the desk and couldnt get 1 either. I was biten by several bed bugs. Worst extended stay ive ever been at. Do NOT recommend.

This particular hotel felt a bit newer than others of this type. For instance, although it did not seem any larger than other extended, stay hotels, it had the benefit of having two adjacent elevators. This may sound like a no-brainer, but I have been to many fully booked extended stay hotels with only one small elevator and it’s a nightmare. Not just for your typical ingress and egress out of the hotel, guests are constantly checking in and out with typically an elevator full of belongings. It’s very frustrating when hotels only have one elevator, particularly for those of us who are a bit older with mobility issues. I found the staff to be extremely responsive. A few days into my stay my refrigerator died. Just a few minutes later, maintenance appeared at my door and within just a few minutes my refrigerator was replaced. I found my fellow guests to be quiet and respectful. The laundry room was large and modern with working machines and provided an online option to pay for laundry using the funding source of your choice. I particularly found the staff to be extremely helpful. As a business traveler was also self-employed working on a project of an indeterminant length, they were extremely accommodating and helping me extend my stay when necessary and provided suggestions that helped me maximize savings. I found their guest service to be top-notch.

Front desk assistant was rude and very obnoxious. My bed was nasty called front desk lady said come back down and she qas Going to change my room. Come rite back down and she said she can't change my room , So i asked for a refund to refuse to give me my money back then she called someone . She then changed my room to a dog next door that barked all night now it 1am and i told her i cant do this at all i have to be at work at 4am im sorry i cant do this so please confirm my refund she wouldn't do it i told her im checking out .when i tried to get my stuff she had deactivated my room key took her almost a hour i had to leave and go back to work because my break was over with . Now im off work get to rhe room and key card still not working. The lady that did all of this was gone i spoke with a older lady that was so polite, kind, friendly,, helped me retrieve my belongings and the manager was very polite, friendly, concerning, customer service friendly

I found multiple roaches and bugs in my room and the fridge was dirty.. I did get a late room which is no excuse for that but literally slept with no cover and bags on the bed with me because I was scared to get bugs in my things

Easy check in , Front desk staff was great , helpful and very courteous. Room were very clean , top notch amenties. Great location with lots of shopping and good restaurants close by.

The Tv did not work. The person on the counter was not there. The window was broken. There was not door handle and I couldn't get out i called the front desk couple of times and no answer. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Staff was friendly, only stayed here because of family emergency involving my 21 mo old granddaughter being life flighted to Chicago. Room looked clean upon entering, and that's where it ended. Large dead roach by bed in corner by ac unit, husband killed two more large ones on kitchen counter, and one more before we left. Couch bed was broken on one corner, the main bed was very uncomfortable, half the plugs didn't work, mildew on shower corners by ceiling. Woke up the first morning to water all over the toilet seat cover and floor from the floor upstairs (vent directly over toilet). Wouldn't stay again, but it served it purpose for what we needed, we left at 11:30pm the night before checkout, I couldn't take it anymore. But it was there when I needed it on an emergency, and the desk clerk over night was super helpful and pleasant. Maybe it's because we were on bottom floor ( which I requested, being disabled) but if we have to go back up to the city, we will be bypassing this establishment for maybe one of the others in town or something closer to the hospital even. Overall disappointed. But you get what you pay for I guess. And we were booked for four nights, made it through three. Thank you overnight desk lady, grandbaby is doing much better, I appreciate you remembering when we checked out.

80 a night is a joke rooms should be 25 dollars this place is for the desperate and no other option. Slept on ikea metal frame with a 100 mattress on top that was wrapped in plastic it was the most uncomfortable experience ever and I have stayed at some dive hotels. There is more but you get the picture.

Filthy room, everything smelled like smoke and got worse throughout the stay, cockroaches, mold, dirty linens, and pancake-flat pillows. I only saw the staff at the front desk one time… after wait for 5 minutes to check-in.

The room was ok, but the beds are not appropriate for a couple and the restroom was nasty and me not my fiancé could shower in it.

Why to the beds have a plastic cover under the sheets? Noisy and a little uncomfortable.

There were roaches in my room, the people on the floor were very loud and the check in process was lackluster and when I went to the desk to tell them about the roaches there was no one there .

Weed smell

Firstly, the room had a strong unpleasant odor. I contacted the front desk to request a room freshener, but was told they didn’t have any available. Additionally, the room had no lighting, and when I raised the issue, I was informed that maintenance was unavailable at the time. No temporary solution was offered, and the staff showed no concern or willingness to help. What was most frustrating was the attitude of the staff—they were unapologetic and seemed indifferent to our discomfort. It felt as though they were encouraging us to find another place to stay rather than trying to resolve the issue. This lack of customer care and poor service completely ruined our holiday. I strongly advise against staying here. I’m happy to provide further details if needed.

Although clean, this is a rundown and somewhat dingy property. Expect stains, strong smells in the hallways, uncomfortable squeaky beds on exposed bedframes with metal legs a bit like a camp cot, and not the type of breakfast selection you usually see at hotels with “free breakfast”. I wish I’d chosen somewhere nicer for our stay. Still, staff is courteous and it serves the purpose for the price.

There were no food options in the hotel,but plenty of places to eat. I went to heat up some food I had brought with me and a roach came walking from behind the microwave so they moved my sister and I to another room that smelled like cigarette smoke. Other than that I think it was ok I won't stay there again.

Bed is not good

Everything associated with the hotel is old, dirty, and nasty. Bed had a plastic cover on it under the nasty, dingy sheets. Towels were tattered and stained. Hairs all over tub and drain. Not sure bathroom was even cleaned from previous tenant. They advertise free breakfast - its just wrapped mini muffins and granola bars. Can find nothing positive to say about my stay.

I would not recommend this facility to Any friends or family. The first room had a room Roach climbing down the wall. The second room, they tried to put me in, had mold or mildew in it, because I could not breathe as soon as I walked in the third room, had a dirty napkin in the cabinet. And when putting a light bag on the shelf in the face closet, the whole shelf fell off the wall.

One of the things I didn't like was that the bed had a plastic mattress cover that was loud and uncomfortable. It is built for the long stay in mind because I'm used to a coffee machine in the room with coffee which there was not. What I did like was the large refridgerator because I had a few friends over one night since I was from California and visiting with Chicago friends. Thatwas the whole reason I got the suite size room. Also, the room description said sleeper sofa but there was not one there when I got there. The girls said they would put one in the next day but then they said they didn't have one but I could mover rooms, which was inconvenient to pack everything up again and move. I don't usually give poor reviews but thought you should know.

Check in at 3pm,room not ready till 4:20,strange moldy smell in the room, bed sheets full of hair, had to ask for fresh sheets. 5 mins after we checked in, a cleaning staff member entered our room without knocking saying: okay ,okey. He went to the bathroom : okey ,spray, no spray( apparently looking for his missing cleaning supply. The room must have been flooded recently because water was coming out of the seams of the floor in the kitchen area when we stepped on it. Luckily it was only one night trip.

Bathtub was dirty....had hair in it..bed appeared to be similar to a pull out bed (but a stand alone), power outlets didnt work, TV said "no signal" and the entire facility smelled like curry.

When I reached there at 12:30 am the front desk person tried to check me in took $55 deposit and turned around and told me that my reservation has been cancelled by the system as no show as I came after midnight, so why in the first place she took $55 deposit when I was going to be turned down, then she said she can’t reimburse my deposit as the system is going through night audit, a big nightmare

The rooms seem clean, but between the roaches and no cook ware or cups for a room with a kitchen. There is no real breakfast, just hot water, coffee and some snack bars that isn’t breakfast

It seems like the hotel is a section 8 living quarters, no cleaning service, no trash pickup and the bed is just a mattress on a medal frame

The AC is very noisy. Mattress plastic cover and only one sheet on top. Feel like sleep on the plastic bed.

The problem was not with the Hotel because I never got a chance to stay. The problem was with Hotels.com who made the reservation for me over the phone, took my money even though the representative was still on the phone as I tried to check in at the front desk and the manager told me there were no rooms available! So after hearing this, I was STILL charged! This happened with 2 reservations at 2 different hotels that same night! I will NEVER use a 3rd party to make my reservations again! From now on I will go through the hotel directly!!

There was literally bed bugs

The stay was okay.

We attempted to check in and learned they didn’t have the room we’d booked. They told us they “upgraded” us to 2 double beds. We had booked a king size! That’s not an upgrade.

The photos were not what the room looked like. The tv was over the pull out bed, which was in front of the king bed which was difficult to watch TV for the person sleeping on the pull out. The king bed was on a metal frame and squeaked the moment it was touched, which made it nearly impossible to sleep because it made loud noises any movement that was made. The bathroom floor was wet when we arrived, and we found a roach in there as well.

The bed was too firm and not a lot of cable channels to choose from. Was not happy with the first 2 hrs of noise and pounding above my head from the guest staying above me on the 3rd floor. I had to complain twice and the person still continued making noise.

Told by other seasoned travelers these places were pretty nice back in the day but have never been kept up or upgraded since being built. Super discount from "regular" price made it sound like I was getting a deal but not worth even the low price I paid. Workers were pleasant and I can't blame them for what they have been left to work with but next time I would seriously consider sleeping in my vehicle instead.

The TV sensor had something cake on it. The bed was squeaky. Not enough pillows. The parking lot light shined into our room.

Also, the beds were very noisy as they had plastic mattress protectors instead of more cloth-like material. Every movement made a swishy sound. I expected better. I've stayed in many other hotels, including other Extended Stay Americas, and have never had the awful, loud plastic mattress protectors on the beds.

My stay was not pleasant.The room had a really bad odor. There were no utensils plates(things needed for the room). There was marks on the floor and on the walls. The television station was analog, not digital. Didn’t have access to regular TV or normal TV channels or cable TV. The attendant was very scarce not around. There was no one to answer your question or to ask for service. The beds was very small. Also, they utilize bed frames for the beds. It just look appealing. It looked like I stayed in a dorm room or a boarding room. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for anybody.

Bad service. The TV remote didn't work. I took it to reception, they replaced it, and it still didn't work. The TV was in a frame that was hanging on the wall and was full of mold.

Property was conveniently located. The room was had to be sprayed for roaches.

Washcloths poor quality and found ahair in what was suppose to be clean. No dish soap. Breakfast the muffin i had the blueberries in it weren't fresh very old and hard could not finish.

Very dated and old facility. The rooms and its surroundings smelled of weed. Nothing the management can do about it if the guests do not follow the general guidelines. However from new guest’s perspective it makes for bad experience. The staff were very friendly they went above and beyond to ensure better experience. However the hotel needs some serious redevelopment. Everything is so old,dated, stained, broken. It does not feel that we are getting value for the money even though it is cheaper it still feels overpriced.

We stayed in room 202 and all night long we couldn’t sleep. The guess above us or who ever was staying there you can hear the steps or whatever the where doing.

Basically, it seemed like everything was on the brink of falling apart. This place needs to be gutted and renovated badly. Flooring needs to be replaced, millwork needs to be replaced, plumbing needs repair, elevator should be looked at. I would not recommend this place unless you have no other options.

Horrifying. Stay away! Everything is dirty or broken - even the security lock. Kitchen is falling apart and has stapled paper as a backsplash. The beds are covered in a crinkly mattress protector.

Definitely need to upgrade their cleaning essentials in the room with cleaner towels and do more upgrades to the bathroom ceiling

Great place good price its not a 5 star hotel but its decent. Only issue i had was my room was not as clean as it couldve been, there were regular hair and pubic hair on the floor and thecaulking around the shower surround was coming yp and missing in several areas and i did see some minor mild growth

The rooms are full of roaches everywhere. I switched rooms but the roaches were everywhere. I left the same day I checked in.

All of the staff that we encountered during our stay were wonderful. The rooms were clean, although a bit run down since my last stay there in 2019. Our room was missing a cupboard door, the tv had a cracked screen, and the flush button on the toilet kept getting stuck down. None of those things really detracted from our stay, but the beds and pillows were an issue for all of us. We were so uncomfortable that none of us got much sleep, and were sore the next day.

The room was nice, but the extended stay was an older building. They used a strong cleaning solutions, u can smell it when you first come in. The breakfast bar was tiny and had no place to sit.

I really like that the room had a kitchen in it, not that i used ut because it was a quick stay after a very long flight, but it was still nice.

Fire alarm went off at 11:00 Am and Front desk no nothing about it. Dirty room sheets and towels had stains and yellow overalls due to long time use. Bathroom had hairs. Bed had some kind of plastic sheet probably to protect the mattress from stains but made noice whenever you moved a bit on bed.

This property wasn’t the worst, but it was not the best. You could tell hotel staff was trying hard to keep the place clean. Constantly mopping and vacuuming, but we had a lot of roaches in our room. It’s coming in large extended stay hotels. It was also very loud! Lots of people doing laundry at all hours of the night and music and TV. Staff was friendly and attentive. Beds were horribly uncomfortable. I felt like they were doing their best, but I won’t go back.

Staff is very nice. Coffe was good but no cream for coffee unless you like sugar. Property is dated. Linens were stained. Needs serious updating and major deep cleaning. Local tv channels were intermittent. I didn't empty my garbage promptly and roaches came out. For the price it's great. Not all rooms are good. Don't move in until you thoroughly inspect your room. Cooking smell on 2nd and 3rd floor are unbearable in hallways. STAY ON 1ST FLOOR!

It's a very old property with old cabinets and appliances as well as terrible beds.

Under sheets was dirty and food like the sheets were not changed and need just made from last visitors. Sheets were dirty and either had waste on them or blood. Same for the lamp shade. Cabinets in kitchen loose and some fallen off. Room smelled like cigarette smoke and weed smoke from other rooms through bathroom ventilation. This is a smoke free hotel. When checking with the front desk shortly after midnight they offered for maintenance to stop by the next day to look at the items with issues. Being to late and after driving 12 hours we stayed the night and checked out first thing next morning around 9:30am. I'm sure we could have found other things but did not stay the original 4 nights. When mentioning the problems to the front desk they quickly offered the ability to cancel the remaining nights if out before 11am. This sounds like they are aware of the room and place visitors into this room late at night knowing they are stuck paying the one night then leave the next morning and still are able to make money on a room without needing to spend time or money on it

The stay was very affordable I know they say you get what you pay for but that had to be the hardest bed I ever laid on had a horrible night sleep and only like 10 channels on the TV.

Disrespectful housekeeping the rooms are not adequate no heat was available in the rooms in the remotes did not work and then when you went outside the door the room automatically locksAndIt's hard get back in

We got there they ask for id from me my husband ask for deposit they wore rude and place saids its go continental brefast all they had was muffins n coffee room was dirty we jas to ask for clean towels because we ask them to clean the foom even they said they would clean it they did not second time we ask for towels they didnt like it we had to bring the dirty towels or they wouldn't give us clean ones wont stay there ever again worst place i ever stay in in my lifetime
