Reviews
The Olde Harbour Inn is a historic hotel with a prime location on River Street in Savannah. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, and convenient access to local attractions. However, some guests have noted issues with noise, cleanliness, and comfort of the beds.

- Noise from the river and surrounding area
- Inconsistent cleanliness and comfort of rooms

Great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Large rooms felt like home away from home.

Wonderful trip, amazing staff, beautiful hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming!
- 5/5
The hotel is on the River road with an excellent view of the Savannah River traffic. The river also provides a nice breeze making walks very comfortable. The staff is incredibly helpful and welcoming. Their tips and local advice was spot on. The two bedroom suite was updated, clean and mostly quiet. The extra included amenities, such as free water, Klondike ice cream bars, bath robes, free parking, morning coffee and juice bar, evening wine and nibbles - all heaven. I would book again. The two-bedroom suite is not really two separate rooms. One is a loft open to the second. Fine for us, but one should be aware.

Our room was great with a good view. Nice to have a bellhop to help with our bags. Love the happy hour with wine and appetizers. All very professional!

It might be very hard to get better staff in general. Everybody was great. The location is great for River Street but less great for Downtown. It's not bad if you don't mind walking 15mins which we don't but some people might. Every room in the property I assume is different, we had a living room(very large), a kitchen(very retro I might say) and a separate bedroom. We liked it. Parking is a premium older US cities. Being able to park right outside the property is great. Had we not watched a you tube video of somebody visting the property we often don't open the fridge let alone the freezer. Make sure you do, there is an ice cream for both of you in there. There are not criticisms but just facts. The property is old and that is the charm of it but because of that you will hear sounds above you(creaking floors) unless of course you're at the top. Getting to the parking is not fun or may be easy for some, not us. Both Sat Navs brought me outside on the upper street but I needed to be below. Having to drive onto River Street and then up the cobbled street was hard to discover but we did it. Some guy (just before the hotel) parking his very large "truck" back far into the laneway, I had to pop my tyre up nearly onto the wall supports. Not a criticism of hotel at all, just getting to park your car was require research before you arrive.

Location, cleanliness and staff. Can hear next door and above neighbors very easily.

The property was more than expected. The rooms were very large and clean and the staff was great. They offered a nice happy hour in the lobby and the room had ice cream!

The hotel definitely has a lot of charm and character, and the property itself is very cute and unique. However, the soundproofing was a major issue — I could clearly hear conversations and even someone talking on the phone in another room. The amenities also felt worn out, with cheap towels and areas that could really use upgrades and refreshing. Overall, it has potential and charm, but in my opinion it does not meet the standard of a true 4-star hotel.

They offered a happy hour but unfortunately we weren’t able to take advantage of it due to having other activities at the same time. Water and soda was available in the lobby. Walkable to everything. Staff friendly and helpful.

A beautiful hotel. The room was excellent - very spacious and comfortable. Everyone on staff was great. This hotel is within walking distance to most of downtown Savannah. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
The staff was absolutely incredible. The Suite room had wonderful amenities. Needed a little bit more clean in the fold out sofa couch, but the staff more than made up for it. The hors d’oeuvre hour was delightful. Access to the room was a bit tough with an elderly family member as there was no elevator and stairs were somewhat tedious. Overall amazing stay! Staff went above and beyond to help.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to others. The location is perfect, close to everything you might want to see or do, which made getting around incredibly easy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was exceptionally spacious and airy, more like a full apartment than a typical hotel room. Having a kitchen and a large living room made it feel comfortable and homey. The big refrigerator was also a great bonus, especially for longer stays or if you like to keep your own food and drinks on hand. Cleaning could be improved, as there was some dust on the tables and the living room carpet needed vacuuming.
- 4/5
Great location and view Disappointed in the room cleaning services. No bed service entire stay. Had to ask for towels and TP that should have been part of daily room checks. Also would be better if windows had sheers so you could have light in the room without giving up privacy.

Our room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, with a beautiful water view. The location is excellent — right in the center, perfect for exploring the city. The room was clean and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. We also really appreciated all the thoughtful extras: ice cream in the freezer, complimentary wine and snacks in the evening (5:30–7:00), friendly staff, and convenient on-site parking. A nice touch was the earplugs provided in the room. We didn’t hear any noise from the riverwalk since our bedroom faced the back courtyard, but housekeeping in nearby rooms starts early, so they actually came in handy. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place.

A historic Inn located right on the river walk. The best part was the extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Klondike bars in the freezer for when we returned from sightseeing. We’ll be back.

Good location. Clean. Friendly staff close to everything
- 5/5
Parking was easy, no issues, the shops are just below the inn and down the entire street. The staff were amazing, extremely helpful and very responsive. I would stay again.

Prices have risen and it has become more expensive to stay here. We hope we can afford to stay here in the future.

Great location on River St. Parking is available and the staff were super friendly and answered all our questions. The room was clean and had everything we'd expected. The hotel came with a bunch of extras we had not expected such as ice cream and the wine in the lounge.
- 5/5
Excellent location! Nate,Kevin and Brian truly know the meaning of southern hospitality! Complimentary wine and appetizers 5:30-7pm daily was a super nice touch-loved it! Ice cream in the freezer was fabulous.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and facilities
- 5/5
Staff made us feel welcome. Kevin was fantastic! There were so many nice little touches at this hotel. Happy hour everyday and the food was different each day thanks to Kevin. Ice cream bars in the freezer restocked daily. Location was excellent. We opted to splurge and got the balcony and absolutely loved being out there while the container ships went by. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. We loved everything. Some people might have a problem with steps but then that's everywhere in Savannah. If I do that you're set up
- 3.5/5
The noise from the room above was loud. You could here every movement from the guests above including their dog. During the day we didn't mind but at night it bothered us since we're light sleepers.
- 5/5
Brian in the front office was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to do while we were in town. His excitement and enthusiasm was very contagious and made sure that everything was always well attended to during our stay. The entire staff was always happy and pleasant. They even went so far as to offer us water and soda in the front office as well as ice cream in our freezer after a day of exploring the town.
- 4/5
good access to historic district. staff was exceptionally nice
- 4/5
The room was very cute, like a small apartment with old charm feel. Hardwood floors, lamp lighting, full living room and separate bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and conveniently located at the riverfront. Only complaint, the mattress was uncomfortable and hopefully they will update the kitchen.
- 1/5
Staff was great. Room was horrible. Walls are paper thin, old and hard to get too (a lot of stairs).
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and super friendly. Love the feel of the room, more like an apartment than a hotel room. Loved all the little extras.
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly, the location is great and the room was very nice.

A friendly, beautiful hotel in a great location. Clean, comfortable, inviting and plenty of parking. Great for taking your dog.
- 5/5
Room, staff and all the things were great.
- 5/5
Our room was clean and beautiful! Very comfortable! We love stays that offer a robe as it helps relax! There is endless bottles of water and canned soda as well. The morning coffee and orange juice was great in their lobby. They also placed two ice creams in the freezer for us which was an unexpected and nice treat! We had a lovely experience during the wine and hors d’oeuvres. Everything was delicious and the seating area was warm and comfy. We will certainly be returning!
- 5/5
Clean room, staff friendliness. Friendliest place we have ever stayed at.
- 5/5
While driving down the cobblestone street, we missed the turn to the Inn and had to drive around the block again to get to the entrance, but once we did we were pleasantly surprised. After parking , we were met by a male staff member who assisted us into the lobby. Check-in was quick and easy. The gentleman then took us to the entrance of our building and our room entrance. He returned shortly after with two glasses of wine and a plate of hors d’ oeuvres. The room was nicely decorated and presented itself as a quaint apartment. Plenty of bottled water in the kitchen with two ice cream bars in the fridge. Highly recommended stay.
- 5/5
Room was great, loved the size and layout. Amenities in the room were really nice, kitchen with full refrigerator. Excellent customer service, very helpful and accommodating. Kevin was super helpful! Went with a group of 7 and we all had a great experience. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Great location, very nice staff!

The room was big, everything was clean. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. It was very nice that they had appetizers and wine and they even left ice cream in the freezer. It was a very plesant experiemce.

Room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very personable and helpful. Evening wine and snacks was enjoyable and fresh coffee 24/7. Will likely return.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and beautiful! Will definitely return!
- 5/5
Room was unique and very comfortable, and the people working at the hotel are warm and kind!
- 5/5
Was a good stay, only negative thing was the 8 month old puppy across the hall barking for 90 minutes when the owners went out. Staff very helpful and enjoyed the parking.
- 5/5
Staff and service was outstanding, room was well appointed and quite unique! Loved the location as well; the balcony looking over River Street and the canal was a very cool feature.
- 3/5
Staff greeting us we're very friendly and helpful as was the check in clerk. The room itself has a kitchen but no silverware or dishes. The room needed dusting especially the lamps. there was a lot of noise from upstairs and then the people next door had a dog that was yapping for a while. the location is okay, close to the riverfront but there isn't really much down there except souvenir shops wnd bars. Lots of steps and cobblestone to deal with. Would stay closer into the historic district next time
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
The street outside can be a little noisy, but they even provide headphones if the noise continues when you’re ready to go Oh, and did I mention the ice cream sandwich in your freezer? Conveniently located, friendly, helpful staff and a classic old building comfortably remodeled, everything I wanted in a hotel in Savannah
- 5/5
Half scenic half parking lot
- 3/5
However, our room was not great. We chose the king room with a balcony and river view. When we walked in, there was a very strong musty smell, the room finish was run down and the person who cleaned the room failed to supply soap and left dirty coffee cups and glasses on the counter. We were supposed to stay for three nights but we checked out one day earlier and went to a different hotel. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was Expedia's rating of "Exceptional". I think this description is totally inaccurate.
- 4/5
Spacious room with nice view of the river. The happy hour was excellent. All staff were welcoming and professional. We enjoyed our stay and recommend your Inn.
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful. Great location. Rooms left something to be desired.

Room was great! Like a small apartment. Very clean and wonderful staff
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful! The hotel is great but the staff make it a return visit.

We were celebrating our anniversary of 44 years. From the time we checked in the service was amazing. The room had water and ice cream for our enjoyment. Each day if staff was outside or walking bye, we were greeted. We had a beautiful view of the Harbour. We didn't have to go far to get something to eat. Thanks for a great weekend.
- 5/5
LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel. If you want the real Savannah experience, this is the place to stay. In addition the staff was amazing. The room/rooms had so much space. Having a fridge and couch was extra nice. And each evening they had wine and hordorves.
- 4/5
Nice unit. Close to bars, etc - a bit noisy at night. Ear plugs helped thank you.
- 5/5
Every one is always awesome.we have been multiple times, and sooo great.kevin has been there for years and we love seeing him every visit.we are so glad to see that the staff we love are still at olde harbor.kevin especially is always very helpful
- 5/5
Super friendly and clean! Great location, easy to park, free and no valet. It was noisy at night the first night but they provided a sound machine so all was good!
- 5/5
Love the large suite, the wine and cheese offerings and the friendly staff.
- 5/5
The rooms are well equipped and very spacious.
- 5/5
What a charming hotel in an adorable town. We had such a lovely stay.
- 5/5
Great room overlooking the river. Staff exceptional. Complimentary water soft drinks coffee & nightly Wine A bonus.
- 4/5
Only downside is a previous dog had left hair all over the couch.
- 5/5
Device was impeccable
- 5/5
Highly recommended. Great staff, everyone so kind and supportive in making the experience as enjoyable as possible. High level of cleanliness and comfort, amazing location. A special thanks to Brian.
- 5/5
Excellent service at check in, helpful and lots of extras, the cheese and wine each evening is lovely. Perfect location to explore and rooms were huge and clean
- 5/5
Very cool place
- 4/5
Enjoyed our 2 night stay at Olde Harbor Inn. Great location and walkable to most sites and rrestaurants. Staff was top notch.
- 5/5
Absolutely a beautiful place, location is amazing, room was perfect. Very eclectic.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and pretty.
- 5/5
The room was bigger than we expected and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary evening snacks and ice cream were a nice touch! Having parking included was very convenient and we were able to walk everywhere downtown.
- 3/5
There is one problem with the rooms on the middle floor: noise from the rooms on the top floor. The wooden floors/ceiling carry the sound so well that we left a day early (no refund from hotel.com either). This is why ear plugs are placed by the beds (at first I thought it was candy). Other than this issue, the rooms are large with kitchens as it was a failed condo development in an old mill building. The location on the river is also great.
- 5/5
The staff was absolutely fantastic! The location is great. And for us, traveling with a dog, it was the best place in town.
- 3/5
Second, the photo is deceiving as it sits mainly below ground level. Third, because of the wooden floors and ceilings, any movement by guests on a higher floor reverberates to the lower floor. This is why ear plugs are provided by the bedside (we mistook these as candy). The noise issue is why we left a day early.
- 5/5
Parking on site was a breeze. The only negative was that River Street can be a little noisy up until 11:00 PM, but it wasn’t bad at all. Great river view!
- 5/5
Always our favorite hotel. Easy parking, quiet safe location. Huge bedrooms. Basic rooms are More like a mini suite! Could use silverware in mini kitchen.
- 5/5
For a historical building you could not ask for anything more. Very happy with out stay.
- 5/5
This Inn was wonderful. It was close to everything in the historic district. The only thing I would say is that if you have mobility issues or children in strollers, this isn't the area for you. The cobblestones are hard on strollers and the stairs would be hard to maneuver for some people.
- 5/5
Very quaint hotel. Wonderful location.
- 5/5
I did have a problem with my reservation because I added an additional night under a separate reservation; however, the reservations manager figured it out after some time. I would definitely go back to this hotel again.
- 5/5
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Nice touches like the reception, access to water and soft drinks. And the staff was excellent. Loved the character and charm of our room. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip through Savannah.
- 5/5
Always a great stay here
- 4/5
The property has good views over the water to watch the ships roll in and out. Its not just a room, but a small apartment with kitchenette, living room bedroom and bath, all you can eat ice cream on site, i was surprised at the ice cream delivery to my room after housekeeping..and hors d'oeuvres between 530 and 7 pm in the lobby.. it's right on river street and very convenient for all the shopping and restaurants, and tours. Parking is included.. staying on river street is a little noisey with cars and people, but I loved it! i'd stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Great location. Beautiful building. Attentive staff.
- 5/5
We loved the unique architecture that kept the “Inn” in a bit of its original state. Kevin, Brian and Nate were great and helpful. Shared with Brian the morning we checked out my concerns with upkeep and cleanness around the downstairs, outside of “203”, having spotted lady’s feminine products (tampon) in the corner near the drain. The whole area for out time there needed some tidying up. We love our stay and time in Savannah!
- 5/5
Our "go to" hotel in Savannah. Pet friendly, old world charm in the heart of the river district. Wonderful staff. We park the car on site and walk everywhere. In short, highly recommend the Olde Harbour Inn.
- 3/5
The issue we had was the noise. Not only the street noise but the walls seem quite thin for an old hotel. As well as the ceiling to the room above us - old building means old creaky floors We enjoyed our stay but didn't rest so well at night.
- 5/5
This was a second stay in the Olde

When visiting Savannah, this is one of our favorite hotels to stay in. Everything is clean and very comfortable. They also have a complimentary happy hour in the lobby in the afternoon and juice and coffee every morning. They are also pet friendly and provide a nice touch by leaving a doggy bag in the room at check in. The staff is very friendly and professional and are there for you if you need them. We love this hotel and will stay here again.

Great location and room
- 5/5
Great location right across from the water, container ships look like they are in your backyard going by! Walk to anywhere easily, parking is convenient and close. Huge accommodations, could easily live for a month in this place.
- 5/5
This was a great experience. Great room, very clean and spacious. The surprises were a very nice touch. We do not mention them not to ruin it for others. This place is close to everything.
- 3/5
The beds were very uncomfortable. The building smelled moldy and we all woke up with stuffy heads. The room was very clean. Every staff member we met was awesome!!
- 5/5
Excellent staff!! Great customer service!! Great location as well
- 5/5
Amazing and welcoming staff. Enjoyed the evening hors d’oeuvres and recommendations to walk along the river front.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and excellent.
- 4/5
Beautifully located with conscientious team members, staying here was a gift and a refuge.
- 5/5
We stayed at the Old Harbour Inn after fleeing a different Hotel and we couldn't have been happier with our time there. Kevin greeted us warmly and brought our bags in, he was very friendly and we appreciated his help. The front desk was also great and the accommodations were lovely. The rooms were very large, we had a great view of the river, it was very comfortable.
- 5/5
We have stayed here twice and it is marvelous. The staff is amazing, attentive and professional in all aspects of their jobs
- 5/5
The two bedroom suites offered a very comfortable and relaxing place for our girls' weekend in Savannah. Special bonuses included the nightly wine and cheese party, and unlimited ice cream in our freezer. I would highly recommend this hotel. Please note that the suites are upstairs and only accessible by stairs.
- 5/5
Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. I also liked that they were dog friendly and even left a goodie bag for Winston. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel in a great location. The room is large and well laid out, comfy bed and furniture, ample kitchen. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and city tours. They even put ice cream bars in the freezer as a welcome treat. Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again when in Savannah.
- 5/5
Great location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We had an amazing stay. Our first time here and would definitely love to come back. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay here, the 2 bedroom suite was spacious and lovely! Staff very friendly, enjoyed the complimentary Happy Hour and the ice cream treat!
- 5/5
My family had a wonderful stay for Spring Break! The kids love the free Klondikes nightly. So convenient to everything in Savannah. The staff were friendly and always accommodating. Would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay again here!
- 5/5
Location, parking, staff friendliness.
- 5/5
Went for our 25th Anniversary and was extremely happy. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Hors d’oeuvres and wine served every night also gave us a chance to meet some of the other guests. Such a wonderful view from our balcony and tons of restaurants all within walking distance. We would definitely recommend!!
- 4/5
Big room, not a lot of services available. Happy hour food was really bad!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with spacious rooms, convenient free parking, great river front location and excellent bed and bedding. Rooms provide a large living room, complete kitchenette, nice bathrooms and nice bedroom with a view of the river. Hotel is clean and staff are great.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
This property was fantastic staff was friendly you can walk to everything. They offer evening wine and apps and ice cream nightly in your room. My only negative about cleanliness was our bed had a stain on the bedding and looked like hair or lint from a dryer so we got that changed out and baseboard needs cleaning
- 5/5
Love the location right on the River. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Reminder tho, the hotel does not serve breakfast. They used to (and it was very good), but they stopped serving it.
- 5/5
We had a nice big room and a comfortable king size bed. The parking was off road and convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We stayed in the king suite on the 4th floor and it had a great view from balcony. We will be back!

Great location on the river!!!

(One suggestion: have a local bakery supply pastries in AM to go with the coffee!)

I loved the stay and can’t wait to come back. The location is perfect and within walking distance to a lot of the restaurants, shops, bars and a lot of attractions. With everything being so close, my car didn’t move during the whole stay. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and had help taking bags to the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and beautifully updated. The snacks and wine each night was a nice touch and gives you a chance to socialize with some of the other guests. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Savannah.

Parking was included, which was a bonus. Lots of places within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay, convenient to walk to anywhere we wanted to go.

Water pressure in shower was weak. Other than that, it was a nice stay. Huge place. Very cool. Loved the parking. Walked everywhere. Fun town. We'll be back soon.

Love it!

It was a perfect place to stay-beautiful-friendly staff-close to everything-will definitely return

Klondike bars and evening wine were a plus. Would recommend to everyone.

Nice place. Staff is great. If you can't do steps stay on 4th floor, it doesn't have an elevator. Walls are a bit thin, you can hear thru walls, we stayed 4 nights, just had a loud tv last evening.

Always love staying here. We’ve driven from Michigan and loved the on-site parking but also just love the location with so much in walking distance. Plus, its beautiful and the staff is always wonderful!

A very comfortable stay.

This hotel was really beautiful and full of personality. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I loved that there were two locks between us and the outside that used guest key-cards. It was very easy and quick to find a bite to eat or go down to check out the tourist areas and river. I enjoyed my stay, and if I get a bit more time in Savannah in the future, I'd love to be a guest here again!

Awesome staff! Lovely room and so walkable!

Funky parking but they made it work for our 22’ RV. Never had internet in our guest room but got it in the lobby. Excellent coffee and free beverages a nice add on.

The staff was outstanding

Nice spacious rooms. Great location. Nice river view. But receiving ear plugs at check in was a red flag. Every footstep in the room above could be heard with squeaky floorboards. At over $300 a night, suggest being more transparent up front about the noise, which was irritating. Thank you.

While the staff was very nice it did not outweigh the mold that we could smell in the room and lobby. In fact, it made me quite ill

This property was very quaint. The suites are quite large for two people and the evening Social Hour served wonderful appetizers and wine. The Staff was outstanding and extremely courteous!

Loved this adorable inn

Great, historic hotel with minimal commodities but we were fine. Very clean, staff was great, with Happy Hour everyday looking out over the river/partial view. Very reasonable in price with easy walking to great restaurants and shopping!

Staff was beyond great. Thank you Kevin for being above and beyond expectations

If you are sensitive to mould I would avoid staying here. This is an old and moisture prone building. Otherwise the apartment style accommodation was spacious and there were lots of lovely free treats. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The location excellent. Bed comfortable. Handy parking. We did get some noise from people walking above us on the wooden floors but this was minimal.

Family Friendly in the heart of Savannah. We always choose to stay at the Olde Harbor Inn.

The place was really nice. The cocktail part not a fan of, I don’t like wine so I had to sit and watch my wife enjoy herself.

Very spacious. Very quaint. Clean but certainly not spotless. A bit older but well worth the price
