Reviews
The Azalea Inn is a charming, historic bed and breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. Guests enjoy the location, breakfast, and unique touches like sherry and dessert in the evenings. However, some guests find the rooms small and in need of updates, and there are occasional issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

Older property, like most properties in Savannah. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. The Live Oak Canopy room was nice. We had our own covered deck with pool view and the grand oak tree! It is pay parking , unless you’re lucky enough to get street parking.

Loved the breakfast but it would have been nice to have two main choices likes some type egg based then another choice

Nice staff, excellent breakfasts, great location, cool old house with interesting stories!

The building is beautiful and very charming. The room we stayed is very spacious and it was for the most part well maintained considering that is an old building. The curtain to the terrace is not well placed and has zip ties holding and some wiring. The jet tub was not very clean and barely hot water. Fully open was just luck warming and even after waiting more than the 5 min they asked (15 min). I asked the staff to change the water heater temperature as plumber, I knew what I was asking. It worked for later in the night and early morning. The breakfast is okay. Not much to say about it. The staff is superb. Very helpful and attentive. Overall it was a great stay.

This location is so close to everything and is in the historic district, bordering on the Victorian district, a beautiful street and location. Parking is horrible all over and there is no on-site parking except valet. You don't need a car, however, due to the free dot bus, the trolleys and the Downtowner car services which is free throughout the entire historic district. We rented a car and between transportation provided for tours and the Downtowner and free bus, having a car is superfluous and actually annoying. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend.

The Property on the outside is very pretty, but the interior is very old and run down. The door locks did not work on our room and we had to rely on a deadbolt. There were several little oddities that occur, such as the AC being turned off during the night in the entire building. Several times during our stay I woke up sweating and could not change the room temperature at all. The room itself is small but very clean. We stayed in the Live Oaks room and it has a Dutch window, which allows you out onto a little private veranda. The Dutch window itself is poorly maintained. There are gaps around it that allows the wind to blow in. The breakfasts were all good and hearty which allows you to skip lunch if you want. I would say the best party of the Azaela is the location. It is a very short walk to the Forsythe Park, and very close to the local DOT free trolleys. On a side note, here the trolleys have two separate routes One (the purple line) runs North and South. The Second (the blue line) runs west to east. If you are going to use the trolleys, be sure you check the routes for where you can transfer. In another note the trolley map that the Inn hands out is for the paid trolley and other that marking sights to visit it is useless, unless you use the paid line. If you don't mind walking, you can easily walk to most of the attractions in Forsythe Park and many of the local restaurants. Parking at the Inn on the street only.

Location and staff and breakfast was wonderful. Not very clean. Drapes on door were coming off the rod. Requested they be fixed. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper. Bathroom very small and toilet very low and seat was loose. Could not adjust room temperature. Depending on who was on duty room was either too cold or too warm. Didn’t feel like a $500/night room. Would not stay there again.

Comfortable and well decorated room. Professional and friendly staff.

As this is an older house, the air felt stale, and the windows could not be opened. The only way to get fresh air was by opening the door. We saw a couple of mosquitoes in the bathroom. The bathroom itself is dated, with older plumbing. If you enjoy the charm of a historic Victorian-style home, you may appreciate this inn. However, we primarily used it just for sleeping. After a long day, the rooms felt too cramped to truly relax, and next time I would prefer staying at a hotel for more comfort. Breakfast is OK. There is a public parking lot next the house, making it convenient if you can’t find street parking.

The manager was very responsive to questions. Fire pit not working Room fireplace not working the first night Shampoo, dispenser as well as lotion etc were empty. I was given bottles at front desk thank you Heat could or not be controlled and was quite stifling Otherwise , the Inn was clean and and comfortable.

This B&B is very beautiful. We stayed in the Live Oak room on the second flooor and it was lovely, with a large furnished balcony . Bed very comfortable. Met a few couples from different places and had nice conversations over a sherry wine and happy hour bites ( delicious) every night sitting at the living room with the cozy fireplace. Weather was cold ( Jan 6-9) . The breakfast in the mornings were very tasty , especially the French toast. Service was very good. We found parking right in front of B&B but next door there is parking for $35.00 a night . When in Sanannah eating at The Olde Pink House is a must , reservations required and the free transportation that the city provides for the historic district picked us up in front of the B&B and brought us back . We loved the antique Victorian feel of the house . A perfect B&B in the beautiful city of Savannah . Definetely recommend Azalea Inn and Villas.
- 3/5
The location was great, bed was comfortable and staff very friendly. Our room could’ve used a good cleaning and a couple things in disrepair in the bathroom. We wished we would’ve had better WiFi in the cottage room, as well.
- 5/5
Gracious welcome after long drive and thorough orientation. Christmas decorations were wonderful. Loved extra perks around Happy Hour and dessert. Breakfast was lovely. Street parking was easy .

We really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, comfy room. Nice balcony and fireplace. Would return.
- 5/5
Fabulous visit all around. Thank you
- 5/5
This is a special place. The house itself is beautiful as are the grounds. Our room was lovely with a great patio. The bed was comfy and the room temperature was easily controlled to your comfort. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to the needs of the guests. There is a social hour every night with a drink and appetizer and dessert laid out in the evening. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dinning room with a nicely set table. They were able to accommodate our food preferences (vegetarian, allergies). They provided lots of good info about where to eat, what to see, etc. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others!!! We stayed in the Magnolia Room.

The Inn is located in a perfect location to walk around the historic district. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The Inn could use some TLC. We loved visiting Savannah.

Great location and parking right next to the house so very easy ! So many things to see and do in Savannah. We came for our 20th anniversary ❤️
- 5/5
Staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient. I arrived early and they accommodated me earlier than expected. True southern-hospitality.
- 5/5
We stayed here for our anniversary and so pleased we did. The staff was excellent, attentive and friendly. The breakfasts had great variety and were served promptly. The room and our balcony were great. I also loved the pool area and that it was a very walkable distance to all the main attractions in the area. Felt homey and peaceful.

Everything about the Azalea Inn was wonderful. The inn itself is beautiful and full of history, and the staff were so kind and welcoming. Ask for their recommendations about what to see and do. The breakfast and snack times were fun and delicious too. Hoping to come back here in the future!
- 5/5
Special gem. Great staff
- 5/5
I would like to stay here in the next visit.
- 5/5
This property was both beautiful and we loved the antique feel it had to it. The breakfast in the morning were delicious and homemade, I always looked forward to it. It is about a 15 to 20 walk from this place to all the main attractions in Savannah. Overall we would definitely come back!!
- 5/5
More than we expected with breakfast and afternoon/evening treats as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious.
- 5/5

- 5/5
This was a very quaint place to stay. I enjoyed the very old timey experience
- 4/5
The bedding was the aboslute BEST I've ever slept with!!! So confortable. The soap provided was such a grest smell. The only main suggestion I have is to dust the top of the shower area and clean out the soap containers on the shower. They were pretty nasty on the inside. Most of the inn was very clean.
- 5/5
The staff was great!
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
kylie our check in person had so much knowledge about the area
- 3/5
The location was very good. The bed was very comfortable and several restaurants within a 25 walk. We had a small balcony with table and 2 chairs was wonderful.
- 5/5
There is also a beautiful secluded pool that is is refreshing after a hot walk on the town! 10/10

First time visit and we’ll be back. Adorable B&B in downtown Savannah boasting a great location and friendly professional hospitality.
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay. Loved the atmosphere, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Plan on coming back in the fall and will def stay here again

Cute bnb , awesome service , nice touch with extra snacks and complimentary sherry. Good location next to park and lots of restaurants nearby.
- 5/5
What an enchanting inn with perfect southern decor and location! Staff went out of their way to make me feel welcomed. Breakfast was outstanding and those late night desserts...out of this world. It was hard to say goodbye...
- 5/5
Amazing and wonderful!!!
- 5/5
Staff was great, Suite was very nice.
- 5/5
The Wisteria Cottage was a pleasant surprise! We would return anytime! The house was well kept and morning breakfast was a treat. It was close to a Trolley stop so getting around town all day was a breeze.
- 5/5
Beautiful B and B. Loved the decor and staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Such a precious property. Will definitely be staying there again (for more than one night!) amazing staff who know the area well.
- 5/5
Hor d’oerves were served from 5-6 pm nightly as well as a dessert later in the evening. Oatmeal cookies, monkey bread and caramel brownies were a lovely treat! The Inn held our luggage after checkout as we had a late flight out. This gave us a chance to continue to explore Savannah and not have to worry about luggage. We highly recommend Azalea Inn!
- 4/5
Great breakfast. Helpful staff
- 5/5
We loved our stay and will definitely return…
- 5/5
Overall great experience - good size room, amazing food and the staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Room was so comfortable. Great location. Historic
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming. Our two rooms were good and private and no noise. Just a pleasant experience.
- 5/5
We are snowbirds traveling North to NJ and always love to stop in Savannah. This year we chose an Azalea Inn for our stay and can report we were very pleased. The post Civil War mansion has oodles of historic charm with just enough updates for the modern traveler. Streaming service TV, fast internet and even a charming swimming pool for use during hot weather. The most engaging aspect is the Staff. From the evening check-in gentlemen to the Breakfast Room staff, the next morning, Southern charm all around. Food was delicious btw. Don’t miss the historic scenes painted on walls in dining area!
- 5/5
Charming, large and well kept historic house. Staff was always extremely friendly and helpful. Nice touch with an evening social hour with a different snack, dessert and drinks offered. They even put desserts in a fridge for those who miss it and come in later. Breakfast rotated and was always good and plentiful. Room was large and comfortable with everything needed and in working order. Limited free street parking around so we didn’t use the adjacent paid parking. About 10-15 minute walk to downtown river area and 1-2 blocks to the free circulating shuttle stop. Great 2 night vacation. Savannah is lovely and this B&B accentuates this.
- 4/5
I enjoyed the breakfasts, snacks and desserts. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only issue we had was being in the gentleman's parlor, you could hear everyone coming and goinv or in the parlor next door. There are quiet times posted, but no staff onsite from about 8:30pm -6:30am to enforce it. Other than the noise we loved our stay and all the people we met.
- 5/5
my daughter and I loved our last-minute day at the Azalea Inn. The historic building is beautifully redone while preserving. It’s charm. The food was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. This Service was top notch. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Nice facility
- 5/5
Every late afternoon there were delicious appetizers to enjoy as we arrived back from a day of adventure. The nightly treats were especially delicious to go with the variety of tea and coffee, if desired. Loved everything. Our room was tastefully decorated and had all that we needed to feel like we were being pampered.
- 5/5
Our stay was absolutely amazing! A very quaint and comfortable bed n breakfast within a short walking distance to Forsyth Park. Parking is right bedside the home. The property and room was well maintained and everything was in fine working order. They have a strict no kid policy which honestly I can appreciate. The food was delicious and tasty. The service was impeccable as well and all of the staff were jovial and accommodating. Thank you so much!
- 5/5
Scott and Teagan made us feel right at home. The property was in a nice quiet neighborhood and was easy to walk everywhere we needed to go. The breakfasts, hor's devors and desserts were delicious. Our stay could not have been better..
- 5/5
Tegan was a fabulous host!
- 4/5
The sleeping area did feel rather cramped. If you like to spread out, this is not the room for you. Each side of the bed was about 2 feet from the walls, with limited floor space at the foot of the bed, so there wasn't much room to maneuver. The outside patio area was nice with a beautiful large oak tree providing shade, but note this is not totally private and is uncovered. The morning breakfasts were delicious, as were the social hour snacks and desserts. I wouldn't recommend the Sweet Olive room if you're staying more than 3 nights, but overall it worked for our quick trip. We appreciated the close proximity to Forsyth Park and the quiet neighborhood location. We walked up and down to the river multiple times, but free shuttle stops are nearby as well.
- 5/5
Beautiful Inn with the most amazing hospitality! Scott and Tegan went above and beyond to make us feel right at home! Food was delicious, will definitely plan future stays here! Highly recommend!

The inn was just great, the staff was fantastic, it’s a very lovely home. We had the best time.
- 4/5
The staff was phenomenal….room was small but clean ….breakfast was excellent and they had a lot of nice touches…..appetizers at 5 pm and dessert at 7….property is in the downtown area so you can get to everything by foot….would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Loved the entire stay!
- 5/5
The property was beautiful, the staff was helpful and kind, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.
- 3/5
We stayed on the main level in Dec., and the lone thermostat for the whole floor is located in the hallway, which isn’t far from the back door. This made the hallway pleasant, but our room incredibly hot with no ability to adjust it. Even the guy who showed us our room thought it was warm and tried to adjust the hall temp down some. We ended up sleeping with the fan on high and the back door open (34* outside) about a foot to compensate. Additionally, the bathroom sink provided hot water, but after 15 min of trying in every faucet orientation, the shower was ONLY ice cold. No staff available after 8:30 pm, so we bird bathed from the sink. Also worth noting (didn’t see it in the Expedia listing, but could have overlooked it), they don’t allow children under 14 per the email we received after booking from the Inn. This didn’t pertain to us, but worth noting just in case. If you’re cold natured or traveling in a moderate season, it might be a lovely stay, but next time, we’ll opt for more modern lodging. The inability to regulate temperature is a “luxury” we’d prefer not to forfeit for ambiance.
- 5/5
This property is better than the pictures service was excellent and the room was perfect
- 5/5
This place is absolutely beautiful. Every detail is just perfect. Staff is accommodating and very welcoming. My only complaint is that we are only staying one night while heading to North Carolina.
- 5/5
Scott checked us in and was very informative and welcoming. The house is lovely and the grounds are as well. The evening snacks, hot cocoa, and breakfast were delicious. Delicious. This place has great attention to detail. I would definitely recommend a stay. The location is very good too. The only negative would be if you stay on the second floor. The stairs are very steep, so if you have any problems it's a no-go.
- 5/5
The hotel is a quaint large Savannah house. The staff was amazingly friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food was delicious- they provided breakfast, a snack at 5pm and dessert at 7pm. All of them were freshly made and delicious. The room was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable.
- 5/5
Excellent bed and breakfast. Beautiful property, walking distance to EVERYTHING. staff was very friendly, food was tasty and even other guests were enjoyable.
- 5/5
Loved it!!!!
- 5/5
Loved the old world charm and the hospitality! Breakfast and other provided food was excellent. The room was clean and the shower was outstanding. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Savannah.
- 5/5
My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was very weak.
- 4/5
Beautiful inn, needs a refresh, breakfast wonderful, appetizers at 5:00 pm , are good, evening deserts are also good, employees are friendly, there service was good.
- 5/5
Beautiful home, first class service, amazing food. Charming, cozy, incredible staff. Scott made you feel like you just came home.
- 2/5
Shabby chic at its best, except that shabby would be ok it was cleaner, don’t think the woodwork has been wiped in years or dusted. No sure if the free cherry is to make up for it though the food is good
- 5/5
Charming and beautiful! Perfect location and it made a gorgeous city feel like home the minute you walked up the steps to the big front porch and the hors d’oerves served in the dining area. Lovely. I will be back!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay!
- 5/5
Wonderful service and breakfast! Thoughtful staff!
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay.
- 5/5
The property is close and walkable to everything yoo want to see in Savannah, while at the same time an enclave for some peaceful R&R.
- 3/5
We didn’t like our room, at all! Gentleman’s Room was dark despite two windows, one of which the blinds had to remain closed because the rod to close them is broken. The shower and toilet area is just awkward and is open at the top so you hear everything the other is doing. It’s also right by the front door so every time someone came in or out, it’d wake us up. Maybe the other rooms are nicer but we won’t go back to find out. Again though, the staff was wonderful!
- 5/5
Will stay again!
- 4/5
Great food and staff. Very poor bathroom lighting to apply makeup; water pressure in shower not good for long hair rinse; carpets seem like they should be replaced or cleaned. Did love atmosphere. Sweet employees.
- 5/5
Very comfortable bed in Gentleman's Parlor. Liked being on main level by front door. Very convenient. Was still quiet. The Breakfast was delicious and enjoyed having the sm desert avail in evening. Scott was wonderful at the front desk. Very helpful! We loved staying there! One of the Old Town trolley stops was just a couple blocks away. Parking was great. If we come back to Savannah we will stay again!
- 5/5
Super clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
We stayed here on the last night of a cross country drive. After the barren desert of options on I-95, this place was a beautiful oasis. The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The entire inn is gorgeous, and the garden suite was perfect. The breakfast and nightly dessert were delicious. I cannot wait to come back here.
- 5/5
Love this B&B. I traveled solo as a 65 year old female. This was my third trip and I loved my room and breakfast. I also enjoyed the staff. Service was outstanding
- 5/5
Second time here and will be back. The staff is amazing, the accommodations are immaculate and the location can’t be beat!
- 5/5
I booked this hotel for my son who was returning back to school at scad and had a very late arrival into savannah, his dorm is close to this hotel so he needs a place to stay before next day move in day. This was his second time there and staff is always nice and provided clear instructions on how to check in at late hours and he enjoys the quiet, comfortable room and great breakfeast.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and stellar staff. Very quiet and intimate setting. Food offerings were fantastic.
- 5/5
Great bed and breakfast l!!!
- 4/5
Loved the old timey vibe. Very elegant. Great service. Comfortable room and bed.
- 5/5
The Inn is gorgeous and small, just a handful of rooms. If you are physically impaired in any way and you want a balcony option, be sure to ask about access to it before booking. I had to access mine through a window which meant getting on all fours and crawling through (I am not good at the limbo). Not a problem for me, but for someone with bad knees or a bad back, it could be. The breakfasts are very filling and so tasty, so much so that I could skip lunch. And there is a happy hour with light snacks, and always made-from-scratch treats available like lemon pound cake or some type of bar. (Their chef is amazing.) And, there is a decanter of sherry with an assortment of crystal glasses in case you want a tipple any time of the day. Loved my deep soaking tub, too. So hard to find them these days. I was very much relieved that the Inn is not in the center of the action, more on the outskirts of the historic district, but an easy 15 minute walk to get to the thick of things. It's nice to retreat to a quiet part of town and I always felt safe walking by myself. Also, the staff were very nice. I will definitely be returning.
- 5/5
Great service from staff, They went above and beyond. Breakfast was more than most B&Bs.Liked the pool for a quick dip
- 5/5
Excellent Staff and Excellent Stay!
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious. Comfortable bed and linens.
- 5/5
Everything about this charming bed and breakfast is wonderful! The staff are always friendly, the rooms are comfortable, the private patio is inviting, and the breakfast is always delicious!
- 5/5
Charming B&B. Beautiful woodwork throughout … showcasing the beauty of an antebellum building. My room had a fireplace and a balcony and a king sized bed. So comfortable. The staff was excellent and most attentive. The breakfast (included) was five-star! They had anticipated every need from the toiletries in the shower to even having a full-size guest refrigerator to store the things you had brought with you in a cooler.
- 5/5
The breakfast in the dining room was delicious and loved being served with the china and flatware. The mural on the dining room wall was classic.
- 5/5
The Azalea Inn was warm and welcoming, as was the staff. There was parking available for a low cost on the property. Our room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast included was delicious. There were fresh baked snacks for us in the evening, along with coffee and tea. The only comment I would make is that it is located in the southern part of the historic district, so if you plan on walking to the main shopping and dining areas, assume you will have to walk at least 20 minutes to get to those areas, although it is doable. Also, make sure if you have a difficult time stepping over or climbing into things, make sure to book a room with a standing shower. Our room had a tub shower, which was what we had selected, but I’m physically agile and even I had a little trouble stepping into the tub. Overall, it was really charming and we enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Breakfast was excellent! Inn was clean/ staff was friendly/ location is good.
- 5/5
Breakfast was exceptional! There was not a breakfast we did not thoroughly enjoy. I am gluten free, but everyday they accomodated me with comparable breakfasts offered to other guests. I had pankcakes, waffles, etc. All delicious! They also had a gluten free dessert option every evening. My husband and I stayed in the Gentlemans Parlor, as it was the only room left available for the 5 days we wanted. I would give the room 2 stars. It is located by the front entry. Everytime someone came or went, it was very loud. Guests would sit on the front porch and we could hear the entire conversation since the window to our room was at the porch. Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm, but for the first two nights we were kept awake or awakened by guests hanging out on the front porch into the night. The main floor temperature is controled by the inn and our room was freezing most of the time. While we would not choose the G. Parlor again, we would definitely return the the Azalea!
- 3/5
The inn was an old house, so I guess you can say that it was authentic. The breakfasts were excellent! I’m sure the stay would have been more pleasant if we were in a larger room.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, fantastic staff
- 5/5
Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location in the historic district was so convenient. We would highly recommend the Azalea Inn, and give them 5 stars for our wonderful and enjoyable stay.

Stay. We Stayed in the Magnolia Room and had a beautiful balcony almost like an outdoor living room in the trees. We will given a nice tour of the facilities when we checked in and shown all the great amenities. Far more than a traditional B&B. Honeybun cake in the evening, and an amazing breakfast this morning. Definitely not your traditional hotel breakfast. I am sure we will be going back.

The Azaleas Inn was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was wonderful and they even had a happy hour around 6pm with chips and dip then later put out cookies for dessert. The staff was very helpful in educating us on the town and even let us leave the car in the lot after we checked out so we could go down to the Riverwalk for lunch. I rate this a 5 star In.

We loved some of the staff. Teagan was incredible as were the staff that cleaned the room.Breakfast was delicious. We had a bit of an issue trying to get the room temperature to where it was comfortable. The pool was lovely and bigger than expected.

Old style southern charm. Beautiful house repurposed into a magnificent hotel. We had a large, private outdoor patio. Private bathroom and an elegantly appointed bedroom.
