    It was gross and our keys cards stopped working two different times. When getting the keys fixed staff never checked ID to confirm our room number, just took our word for it. The room was dirty and stayed oddly moist.

    Parking was easy. Check in was simple and the staff very nice. Pool was amazing. They are under some construction but wonderfully able to work around everything. I enjoyed everything. My only complaint was the AC wasn't able to be adjusted on the fan part

    My tv did not work. Somehow, an animal was inside my bed, and urinated on my clothing. I was moved to a different room that should have been at a lower price, but was never given any credit. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times, but he was never there. When I finally did see him, he said he was leaving for the day and would look into my issues. He never called me. He didn’t even apologize. He blew me off and knew that he did not care. The unfortunate part of this is that his staff was actually very good. They just had no authority to assist me.

    Very little unsecure parking spaces. A lot of construction. The room had acceptable air conditioning. There were no cleaning services offered in the 9 days I was there. During my 9 day stay and three rooms later, they finally found a room that the phone worked. Family trying to contact me could never get anybody to answer the main phone to transfer to me. I had to go to the main desk and find somebody to use their phone. Not a very pleasant experience for the almost $1,000 I spent at this hotel

    When you first walk in, you are greeted by the smell of old building. The place definitely needs a total renovation. There was signage for smoke free facility and walking up the stairs you could smell marihuana all over the stairs and hallway. The ceiling tiles were stained. Then in the room the plumbing needed some assistance with flushing and sink drainage, the shower had hair from previous guests. I could go on and on. The bed and pillows were comfortable. In summary, we won’t stay there or recommend it to anyone.

    It looks like the hotel is getting fully remodeled. Which is great but it was not in good condition, there was an odd odor throughout the hallways and the amenities were not what we expected. The lights in the parking lot were not on and did not feel safe.

    Lots of construction, outside grounds loaded with garbage and human waste, mostly dirty diapers. I asked for quiet room for dog and hotel did supply a back room close to exit. Hallway under construction. Room was worn but clean, bed clean. Breakfast was unsupervised with lots of folks using hands without utensils. We skipped breakfast and checked out early.

    We were given two rooms, both of which were dirty and covered in dust from the construction. Cleanliness should not be compromised, regardless of renovations. As part of the Choice Hotels brand, we expected much better. I would not recommend staying here until renovations are complete and standards improve.

    The first surprise was that the elevator was not working and we had the third floor, which apparently was under remodeling and was with paint patches, all with dust around, with a super strong or, horrible, too bad it was at the last minute and being with our dog we had no other options nearby in the middle of the spring break weekend. The staff was kind, but the hotel in general was emaciated.

    I have stayed at other Sleep Inn hotels in PA, VA. NC. I have found them all to be different in room design, decor, amenities,and age of hotel.This one in North Sarasota. FL, had a nice reception area and a cute sitting space near the entrance. The 2nd floor room was clean, but sparse on soap, shampoo, lotion, 1 small size of each, and no conditioner. I'd registered online for a same night stay for 2 adults, 2 beds, expected queen beds, got doubles. The room itself was small. The sink was separate from the very small bathroom space- a toilet and shower closet with a glass door. A wooden sliding door which stuck halfway (seemed off track) separated the toilet and shower ftom the rest of the room. The shower had great water pressure. The breakfast selection was nice, especially the waffle maker. To be honest, if all rooms were like this, I think it might be more suited for a business person or an on the road driver who just needed a place to shower, sleep, get breakfast, and go.

    My room smelled like mildew so they switched me to another room, which also smelled like mildew. I was also told that they can’t do a late check out over the phone, but offered a 12pm check out by front desk worker, who was really pleasant during my stay. I would not stay here again. It’s not an up to date hotel, but you’d never know because it’s proceed just as high as the nice ones!

    Disgustingly dirty! I will never stay at another Sleep In. Pictures online are a lie! Being in the room less than 3 minutes tried calling front desk..4 times rang about 30 times then busy signal. Didn’t check in till 9 pm & was out b4 7 am. Room stunk to high heaven & I know those sheets were NOT fresh. Need to complain to local municipality. Trust me I will. I need a full refund…took pictures, every person I talked to said the same thing.

    Check-in was wonderful. When we got to the outside of our room, the hallway smelled like urine. Our room was clean, but older. We noticed some holes in our sheet and in the morning noticed holes in the heavy light blocking curtain. We slept well, but probably will not stay here again.

    This place was the worst we have ever stayed. The front desk clerk, didn't care. From the moment we walked in he hardly acknowledged my presence. Some other guest arrive later and running and yelling up the hall right outside our room for 45 mins. I went to ask the clerk for another room and he said they were full and "his hands were tied" There was nothing he could do. He said the people would probably settle down anyway. We literally were there a total of 3 hours from check in, went to dinner, came back and CHECKED OUT at 9pm. I got only 2 days refund but we want the other day also. We are contacting the management company. DONT GO THERE.

    Very average if you just need somewhere for getting your head down overnight from the airport across the road, but anything beyond that then sadly avoid! I was only staying for 3 nights but still checked out early at my expense to go elsewhere. Hotel felt cheap and seedy, was very unclean. The shower had long hair still stuck to the walls (I have short hair!), nail clippings in the toilet room that defo weren’t mine. Beer bottle caps under the table that weren’t mine showing the basic even cleans weren’t done. The sheets had wear holes through them where they’re probably 10 years plus old! I ended up needing to keep shoes on in the room as my white socks and feet went black without them on where they clearly don’t mop! When I checked out early due to this the staff couldn’t care less, just checked me out where this is clearly a very common issue. No doubt management will respond below “thanking for feedback they can learn from” but you shouldn’t need poor reviews to understand a hotel room needs cleaning between stays. I’d avoid this one and look elsewhere

    Hotel entrance smelled as well as the room. Door knobs fell off room lock was loose. Attendant mumbled checking in. Didn’t know what he was saying. Floors were not cleaned in corners. Toilet did not flush properly. We left after the first night to go somewhere else.

    The room was very clean and orderly. Just some old furniture with minor scratches. Some buckling tiles but a nice place to stay. Very clean and welcoming atmosphere and lobby. Check in was fast and easy. Friendly staff. Very good prices and affordable. I would recommend that anyone that would like to have a quiet restful moment to themselves book a stay at the Sleep Inn. The hotel is close to the Ringling Art museum as well as the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport.

    The first room I was placed in had standing water pooled around the fridge which had been placed on the table where the TV was supposed to be and it smelled bad in the room. Staff immediately moved me... to the room next door. Fortunately, there was no standing water or bad odor. With that said, the new room had small ants/spiders everywhere.

    It was absolutely atrocious. He smoke detectors were five years out of date and had no batteries in them so they didn’t even work and I got stuck in the elevator when the power went out and the emergency call button didn’t even work either worst hotel ever.

    The bathroom door was converted from a hinge to a slider with no bottom track so the door swung and was hard to close. The toilet ran all the time because of a bad valve. I had to shut the water off to the toilet to sleep. The bed had a bed mat under the covers to try to make up for a terrible mattress.

    I was charged for having a pet in my room. The whole time I was there I had no pet/s. The front assumed it was my room without checking and charged me. If I didn’t have an app to notify me I don’t know if I would’ve caught it. That’s not okay.

    Great location right in from of the Sarasota airport. I was somehow disappointed with the room condition. Our key cards did not work, looks like the door locks was inoperable. Also bathroom door was very outdated and did not work properly. Breakfast was ok, with limited selection. Desk service could be more informative and greeter.

There was homeless people with dog coming off the elevator and in the lobby. There was no remote in the room called the front desk for them to bring me a remote.     Advertised on Expedia as pet friendly but it’s only certain kinds of DOGS. While moving with my cat I was allowed to check in and then stayed half my stay, came back to being locked out of my room and told no cat. Front desk staff then shook me down for more money (asked for cash?) was very rude and I left 2 days short of my paid for stay with no refund. It does say dogs on their website but nowhere else. Also there was mold on the inside of the windows and someone had a keg party in the parking lot the first night and they let that go on no problem?? I did not feel safe and the guy working the front desk Friday 21st ( 10am) was not nice. I left that day and still had to pay for the full stay which is fine but hotels need to stop advertising they are “pet friendly” in SERPS and on a national site if the actual specific location has another policy. I had to leave 2 days early to drive 2600 miles with my child and cat which affected my entire move. Won’t stay there again.

    Walls are very thin. Not enough pillows and blankets. Front desk was out of pillows and blankets as well. Check in took a while because nobody was at the front desk or anywhere else for approximately 20 mins. It was a place to sleep.

    Finding our room was confusing due to the odd numbering system. It turned out the room was right by the elevator, but we didn’t recognize it because someone was still cleaning it, with the door wide opened covering the room number when we arrived. After seeing what was cleaned from the room, we were immediately uneasy. While the cleaner did a good job, the state of the room beforehand was alarming. The bedsheets were stained, and the couch outside the room looked as if it had been pulled from a dumpster. To make matters worse, our "pool view" revealed a dirty, uninviting pool that we wouldn't consider using. Due to the hurricane and power outage, we had no choice but to stay, but I went home to get my own bedding because I didn’t feel comfortable using what was provided. Overall, the experience was unsettling, and I would never stay there again.

    I’m here frequently, I had one incident where the front desk lady accused me of littering on the property not even 5 minutes on the property. I told her to go check the cameras, she said she was as she was walking away and I didn’t hear anything else. Second incident and this was my last stay here, they put me in a room with a rusty tub, dirty sink and stained comforter. I went down to ask to change room and there was none available. I don’t mind spending money but make it worth spending, considering I’m here every other week..

    A lot of people hanging around parking lot side doors need no key card anyone can walk in . We were there 4 days pool was dirty and the smell of weed is everywhere on property. Spend a little more and go elsewhere.

    This was an awful experience. We pulled up and there were two police vehicles and 3 officers standing outside of their cars. We checked into our room and before even going inside we saw the hallway and doorway to room littered with several empty glass vodka bottles. We didn’t even want to open the door and see what the inside looked like. We told the front desk and they found us another room. As we walked to the new room, we began coughing and choking on smoke that was coming out from our room next door neighbor’s door. The smell of marijuana was burning our eyes and we felt physically affected by it. That was our cue to leave. Since we already checked in they would not give us our money back. The front desk also had a sign that said they were no longer accepting cash payments and would require proof of other residence before allowing people to stay there (indicating that people have been living there via cash only and probably no valid id).

    The room was musty and unpleasant. The air conditioner in the room worked, but it did not properly remove the musty air/humidity in the room. The shower worked fine, but the glass shower door (with 90 degree edges) would not close properly as the door area had rounded edges. Water leaked onto the floor outside the shower and required several extra towels to place by the shower to prevent leaking. The room was a non smoking room; the pillows smelled of smoke.

    Property was terrible in general. Rooms were dirty and grimy. Door key didn’t work at check in, was told by staff I didn’t know how to work the door. Come to find out the batteries were dead. Entire floor of room felt slick, told the desk, was met with “huh that’s weird”. Just an overall bad experience. In town for 2 more weeks for work and cancelled my reservation at this property so I didn’t have to deal with it any longer.

    The entire building smelled like cigarette. In the room there was an overwhelming smell of air freshener and it was hard to breathe. The front door was broken and the staff was cold and aloof. It appeared as though they were housing for temporarily homeless.

    This hotel is horrible! I travel a lot for soccer tournaments and games and this is by far the worst rundown hotel I have been in. AC was loud, TV didn’t work, floors were gross. We had to wear socks because they were greasy and slippery. Shower was dingy and linked water while showering. Breakfast selection was slim. The lamps in between the beds had no lamp shade while the lamp on the desk’s shade was rusting and stained. The desk chair has white paint all o we it. The sitting chair had stains all over it also. Key cards for the door worked half the time. Took a minimum of 5 swipes to get it to work. Staff didn’t speak to you as you entered or left the hotel. Room smelled musty and like a locker room. I used an entire can of Lysol spray in the room to make it remotely tolerable. I now am having sinus issues since I left the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    The staff was rude and not helpful since they acted like they were above us. No luggage carts when we got there and when we left. They have two carts for the whole building!! Everything is extra including the pool, workout space, housekeeping and by the way absolutely none of the housekeepers speak a single word of english so it its virtually impossible to get even a towel. Our sink was clogged when we walked in, the fan in the bathroom was moldy and we asked but they never did anything about it. Rusty bolt sticking out of thew wall in the shower and all the towel bars covers were falling off. The ambiance in the room reminds me of a jail cell. bare unfinished concrete and ugly shelves on the wall is all you get. You have to request housekeeping a day in advance so for a short stay you are out of luck. Truly the worst hotel stay of my life. Period.

    Lea at front desk was very rude, I change my stay due to the strong bad smell of the room as if hundreds of animal/human urine on the carpet floor. Tv was not working, I step out to get food and when I return I called front desk and she said that the maintenance had check led and that everything was working fine, but the tv in the room was still not working. I could not watch anything. I called to the front desk again to ask a simple question about billing and she said she does not know how. She called back to my room after few minutes and started threatening me to leave because I decided to change my stay. I originally booked for 2 night but because of terrible service and unpleasant experience at this hotel I didn’t want to stay for 2 nights. This was 10pm when she rudely told me to leave my room immediately. She said that this hotel have done to their guests several times before. I don’t know what I deserve to get this ugly treatment but I will never want to stay at this hotel again. Taking my business somewhere else. I hope Lea gets trained properly by her manager and if she continues to treat guests like this again, she should be reprimanded.

    The girl at the reception was not welcoming, her attitude was not nice at all. One of the 3 rooms was very dirty. The floor hadn´t been clean, and it was sticky. The bathroom, (toilet) was also dirty. The bed sheets were not tight and had many spots of ink. All the room was dirty. We asked for another room, and the girl complained but gave us another one. When we were walking to the new room, (not much better), she told us in a very bad way that the room we said it was dirty, was clean, and of course it was not. At two in the morning, there was someone having extremely vulgar and loud sex, screaming as loud as they woke up a few rooms. After they finished, they left the room, so we don´t know if that was someone staying there that brought someone to have sex, or that they rented the room for hours.

    Very unsafe outside of the building in the parking area. Dangerous people hanging out around the cars at night. I was very nervous about parking my expensive vehicle in the parking lot. There were people looking inside of windows of cars. I witnessed one man urinate on the building I was afraid they were going to possibly break into my vehicle, more than one who were guests asked them to call the police and nothing was done. They should have their own security in this area.

    Good location, old bed sheet stained gave it when entering the room. First room air/heat not working. TV not connected. Required changing three rooms. The person of the desk really did a great job by solving each problem. Also use a better meal not the muffin sausage cheese.
