I told her I don't know why she is doing that. I understand that they are having parties but when you have families with little ones, I HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT YOU ALLOW FAMILIES have the pool for a portion of the day, the rest of the day for others. Other than that it was a nice place.

The staff was nice and it wasn’t their fault I had a bad experience, but I wish they would’ve offered me a discount on my stay given the circumstances. When I arrived, the room smelled like bug spray. I went to the beach hoping it would be better when I came back but it wasn’t. It finally became too unbearable so just before midnight I packed my stuff and went to the front desk. The lady was nice and offered to show me a few rooms. I chose the second one because it was less smelly, but I barely slept because I was sketched out and because it was so incredibly cold. AC said 73 and even 75 at one point but it was much colder. Better than being hot I guess but not great. The second woman I met when I left told me she’d mark my account for the best rate possible for my next stay but I don’t think I’ll be back. One and done for me… it’s sad because it could be a cute place if it had a top to bottom remodel.

Clean rooms and met all my needs for a great price. Bed was very comfortable which made for a perfect night sleep. Loved the pool area! Resort was right off the bus line (99 which was free). Loved that they had a tiki bar at the resort that allowed me to walk across the parking lot to get back to my room.

Picked this spot for the pool and that it had a cool Tiki Bar. Super disappointed that we were told the pool closed at 8 because there was no lifeguard... It was literally still light outside and there wasn't a lifeguard all day! Figured at least we had the Tiki on site. Expensive drinks in a silent, awkward atmosphere. Sad because it has so much potential!

Our stay was very enjoyable and we had a lovely room. Housekeeping was fantastic and staff was friendly. The pool was great and the vibe was on point.

Hi there, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was nice and would help if asked. An example, would be they would give us new towels if we asked. The housekeeping did not clean each day but that may be normal, I am not sure. Pool was nice. The shower leaked on to the floor no matter what we did which left me worried for their floors but the accommodations were nice. AC worked great, comfy beds, refrigerator and microwave were good. A little loud on friday and Saturday night but peaceful the other nights. Overall very good.

Great price for an overnight stay. Very convenient location…6 mins from SRQ. Cute room with 60’s vibe. Comfy bed and a nice shower with good water pressure. Tons of choices for local eats and entertainment. Didn’t stay long enough to enjoy the pool area, but it looked like a cool tiki setting. I’d definitely recommend this accommodation.

Clean, quiet, economical, close to main roads and airport. I liked the free drink at their tiki bar, $11 treat. The one I didn’t like was the warm water out of the cold tap. Don’t like drinking warm water.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Golden Host Resort with the Tiki Bar-themed decor inside and out. The rooms were clean, spacious and well insulated which is what I needed because im at light sleeper. The pool area was spacious and tropically themed and had relaxing vibes. I even fell asleep at the pool side which is really not like me. The staff were very helpful with everything i needed too.The location was conveniently located approx. Half way down Tamiami making it easy to head south to downtown Sarasota or north to Cortez Blvd to the Anna Marie island. I really cant say anything bad about it.Thank you Golden Host for great vacation!!!

I had a nice stay!

The ambiance is very funky and tropical 🏝.You definitely feel the vacation vibes. And the Tiki Bar, Baha Hut, was a fun touch to the experience.

We stay here a lot and have plenty of reviews The staff is great the rooms are nice The price is good it's in a very convenient location for us and we will be back again and again.

A small improvement would be to empty the trash daily, especially since housekeeping (bed making and towel changes) is not provided every day. Overall, a very good stay

The only complaint that I have is that when using the shower water would get everything wet outside the shower on the floor.

Staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. Tiki Bar was fun and unusual and I love the history behind the entire establishment because it's part of old Florida and that's important. The courtyard is gorgeous you really do think you're in Hawaii. You're near downtown Sarasota and all the highways so you're good.Clean and modern and the retro turquois fridge and microwave were really nice touches. All very thoughtfully done to keep in step with modern times but also remains faithful to the history of the hotel and the town.

Love that this hotel has been around since the 70’s! It gives me that old florida feeling but with upgraded rooms. The tiki bar was amazing as well. Planning to stay here again soon

Staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping needs major work!! Room 212 is handicapped, when you shower water goes all the way to the front door and hallway... the floor is broken. I fell outside of my room due to the lack of awareness of the rise of the sidewalk. Highly suggest painting it. Especially in front of handicapped rooms. Truly a hazard. There was mold in the shower... the doors were filthy. Floors had not been cleaned in a long time. My feet were black. Cleaner walking outside than in my room. This is a great spot! It can be so much better. My DoorDash was stolen outside of my room.

My room was constantly damp. The shower curtain was too short, so everything I showered, there was water everywhere. Including seeping into sleeping area. I was constantly sopping up water from the floor. Shower aside, the pool was wonderful and so was the staff.

Pool was clean and warm. Retro hotel reminds me of my childhood. Beds were comfortable. Shower were warm but the curtain was too short and water dripped/ ran out onto the floor. Mess to clean up everytime, but small inconvenience.

Very fantastic place to stay

we received a handicap accessible room, the shower was set up as one would be for wheelchair access unfortunately the floor was not leveled correctly and flooded out into the hallway instead into the drain in the center of the bathroom. other than that room was clean and a great stay

Golden Host is in the center of the beach and the shopping stores. It is very convenient. For tourists: do not bring toiletries because Walmart is walkable from the place. We needed a beach chair but we decided to buy it from the dollar store as it was cheaper than renting in the beach. I like this hotel because of parking convenience and clean place. It doesn’t have a smart tv but they have cable channels. Pool is nice. Room is cold. Bring hat and wear a bunch of sunscreen.

I LOVED Golden Host Resort! Super easy check-in, friendly staff, and even got a complimentary drink card from the car for me and my guest to use during our stay! I loved the pool area and all the palm trees and high top tables to sit. Super relaxing g and clean. Everything was newly renovated and had a very 50s/60s tiki vibe to it and it looked great. Such a fun vibe! I would definitely stay here again!

We were so happy with the Golden Host Resort! For a five night stay, we paid about $500 and loved the proximity to Longboat Key, 25ish minutes. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave - really convenient for kids! It was very clean too, felt safe! Our room walked right out to a giant lawn and pool! It was a relaxing, retro Old Florida-reimagined vibe - fun colors! The resort has the oldest tiki bar in Florida, and we received two free drinks vouchers upon arrival...! There's always coffee in the lobby too! A++! This will be our go to spot!

The staff was very helpful. Tyler and Bryan the bartenders were great. They couldn't have been more fun and entertaining. The entire place had a fun retro vibe.

The toilet was not securely mounted to the floor, the AC was a little loud, other then these two items the room was quite and the hotel grounds were fine.

Property clean. Weekends have live music in their club till 11pm.

One downside was that the shower curtain was a little too short, so water tended to splash onto the bathroom floor. I don’t usually stay at motels, so I can’t compare it to others, but they did provide shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. However, there was no toothpaste or body soap, so if you’re planning to stay, make sure to bring your own.

This is such a cute place. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Cherie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the tiki bar were great. Close to the airport. Free shuttle to beach. Tropical 1950’s vibe!

I stayed at Golden Host host several different times prior to the pandemic lockdown. It was always a very good motel with a helpful staff. This current stay at the motel was my first time in 7 years. And Golden Host has improved in every way...the updated rooms with delightful art deco refrigerator and microwave, very comfortable bedding, a large flat screen television, a major facelift to the lobby, the pool and the patio tables and chairs, and a staff that is there for all your needs. Also, the Bahi Hut bar is as good as ever...and now has the addition of a night of karaoke, two nights of live music and an evening of drag bingo...all delightful! My compliments to the manager, Katrina, and the rest of the dedicated and caring staff. Thank you!

The staff was amazing. They would bring an order to our room. They had a fair selection of snacks and drinks to purchase. One thing I would recommend would be to have cooler to sell ice cream and popsicles. The pool area was delightful with lots of lounge chairs and tables to eat at. I would highly recommend this property.

The room was pretty nice, but definitely could’ve been cleaner. Lots of grit and sand throughout the room, especially in the corners. The weatherproofing under the door to the outside was worn away which left a big gap under the door allowing the heat and humidity in causing the room to feel sticky and warmer than I would’ve prefer. The facility had a great vibe though, price was very affordable, the staff was nice and helpful with any questions we had, and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay there again!

We were locked out of our room. The master key and physical key barely opened the door. It was very hot, and smelled like mildew. The second room was on the second floor, the remote for the tv was also for the air conditioning unit which still did not work for either.

We had a great time. The internet didnt work too well for us, the AC was too cold lol, but the place is amazing!!!

Great value. A good location with only a short drive to city center, museums, galleries & beaches. This is a family-run hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms have a vintage vibe, are comfortable but there is a little wear & tear. Overall a good place to stay.

The room was spacious for two queen beds with two people. The woman on duty when we arrived on our first day was delightful.

Nice quiet motel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is convenient to whatever you need. Front desk gentleman was very nice.

Unique Tiki theme was great. Got first 2 drinks for free. Price was reasonable.

Many of us stayed for my sisters wedding and were blocked together. The desk staff was very kind and accommodating when I asked to switch rooms to be near my sisters. My room had bottle caps behind the door and I didn’t have pillows for the second bed didn’t have pillowcases and I was only given one wash cloth. But overall it was nice and we loved the tiki bar for gathering at night.

It is a motel type stay but let me tell you, very satisfied. Friendly and fast responsive staff. Grounds were clean. It had a nice clean vintage feel to it. The only thing I didn't like was there was only one washer and one dryer available for the whole area, but even then, I would stay there again.

The property is very unique, cute little hotel. It’s got the island vibe and a tiki bar. The pool was great clean area to hang out in cabana. Even though it’s not on the beach, you feel like you are there. They did a great job decorating the place like the islands. Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. You can also order food and drinks by the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. The rates for this place are very affordable. For the price, you get amenities like an expensive hotel would cost.

(I have traveled a lot) This is an old traditional two story outside entrance property. It has been SIGNIFICANTLY modernized and a true diamond in the rough. It has new split system (QUIET) air-conditioning. The door has a solid sealed threshold (NO Roach Walk In's) newer and well designed basic furnishings. Modern lighting / controls. Nice art and comfortable beds / linens. Great bar and simple music on weekends. This place is a great value!

Room keys unprogrammed themselves every morning so we had to go back to the front desk to have them programmed again. Very inconvenient. Shower was sufficient, water flow was strong! Nice surprise. Bed was TOO SOFT. Very plush and uncomfy. Can feel where other's have slept in because there were springs that were obviously too compressed. Barely slept. The Tiki bar was cute, small area, but the patio where the entertainment is was fairly large. Good selection of drinks! Bartenders were fun and personable. Just remember, you're on camera at the bar so behave yourselves! Overall, decent place, great price.

Conviently tucked away right off 41 near all the great amenities and beaches. Solid place to stay that isn't a Cookie cutter experience.

I’ve stayed here multiple times when visiting my daughter at Ringling College. Very convenient and comfortable beds, plus a cool tiki bar on site!

Staff was very welcoming, we only stayed one night. The rooms can use some new paint on the walls and cleaner bathrooms but I liked the room it is very vintage and I also liked the soundproofing cause the hotel was packed with guests and usually you can hear everyone going and coming out the rooms so it was a peaceful night sleep. Checking out was great too. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Property was a step back in time. Old Florida, before all the glitz. Beautiful gronds around the large pool. The oldest tiki bar in Fl did not disappoint. Will stay again.

I loved the retro vibe of the Golden Host. The front desk staff were friendly and got us checked in quickly. Parking close to our room was easy, however the parking lot is kind of confusing. The room was well equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room was clean but you can see the age of the building here and there. The floor was peeling up in spots and there were areas of drywall that could use some work. Didn’t really bother me but notable. The AC was cold and worked well. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but others may find it comfortable. There was tons of storage space if needed. The bathroom was small but clean. At night we could hear kids running and yelling up and down the corridors but not the fault of the hotel. The pool area was nice, we unfortunately didn’t have a chance to enjoy it. Overall for the price I think this is a fine place to stay for a few nights if visiting the area. It’s close to many of the attractions.

Good staff

This was a fabulous nod to the era it was built in. The updates to keep the nostalgia was spot on. The Famous Mai Tai was exactly as it says it is.... strong and delicious. Can't wait to return!

Weird smell, to the point my cpap pieces had to be changed out because it retained the stench. Think it was just the cleaning products and poor circulation before we checked in. The lingering clean mildew smell.

Parking was amazing. Easy as well. The bar was awesome! Perfect for a relaxing evening. We participated in bingo on Sunday night. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time.

This was my third stay at this proprerty. The only reason that I rated it 4 stars was due to the low water pressure in the shower. Other than that, always a fun stay.

Good hotel!

I live in Miami and I’m familiar with the older model motels that used to be on Miami Beach. That’s what this reminded me of. It’s an older style motel but very very well kept. The pool area is beautiful. It was nice that there was a little microwave in refrigerator in the room, I regret my coffee maker not working in my room, but they do have coffee in the lobby. Went to my granddaughter’s gymnastics competition and was perfect for a quick getaway.

AC was not good

The price was right. I can’t believe they had a bar karaoke dj. If you can get a room with sliding door to pool. Minutes from airport.

Room was far from their tiki bar, but they had a DJ playing very loud music on the outside patio until 11PM. It was so loud, sounded like the speakers were outside our door. We called the front desk to complain and they said they couldn't do anything avout it.

Check in was a breeze and the lobby smells amazing. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The rooms showed their age a little but it was clean and well stocked. You get a complimentary drink from the hut which is so cool. We loved having a cocktail and getting to relax after a long travel day. We will definitely be back.

Only 2 amenities on site and we were unable to use either. Luckily, later in the evening we were able to sit outside by the pool and met two other couples who also felt 'slighted' by the lack of communication. The rooms have been updated and I would give that 8 points as there is No toilet tissue holder, . And although the room had a mini fridge and microwave as well as a kitchen sink, there were no towels or dish liquid. In the lobby, you can get breakfast, although this was never mentioned; nor any signage. A little more thought and this hotel could be an enjoyable stay.

The rooms don’t look as fresh or the other accommodations by what the pictures show and in my opinion, the neighborhood seems a little sketchy. Unless you ask them not to, you will have room service come in in the morning, What surprised me was after our first night there we made sure our curtains were closed. We went out for the day when we got back. Our curtain was opened a bit so we knew someone had been in our room. I could’ve sworn it said housekeeping upon request and I had left some things out that if I knew someone was coming in my room would’ve been put away. I’m talking jewelry, cash, etc. They didn’t make the bed they pulled it up like I could’ve done and they emptied one of the full garbage containers not both? And they didn’t leave any new fresh towels? So why come in the room in the first place? The only reason I gave them three stars is because on Thursday night we had the best time in the tiki bar. It would’ve been nice if they served food, but we did order a pizza that got delivered right there by the suggestion of the bartenders and it was so delicious. The bartenders were a riot! Made you feel very comfortable. They offered two free drinks for your stay, but they choose you don’t. You have a choice of three. Stay again? If I had to. But, if the bartenders were working, I definitely would stop in there to say hello!

We were there two weeks and could have used clean sheets at least once during our stay. We were on the first floor which was nice.

For one thing, the coffee pot in the room was in need of repair. I went down to the lobby to get help brought the coffee pot with me. The lady herself was having trouble and she said she really couldn’t get another coffee pot because they were locked up, which I thought was strange. The little tray you put in them wasn’t fitting in correctly. It was very loose and not really fitting in right at all I called the hotel The day was supposed to be down there and let them know I had a flat tire and wasn’t able to make it that night. I had a bad experience had to take a detour to another city that was out of the way to get a tire the next day cause it was on a Sunday. I rode on a doughnut for about 100 miles. I had a really rough day. I thought the hotel might compensate me in someway or be kind or give me a free drink like they do if you book directly with them, they will give you a free drink, but nothing they didn’t even seem to care what I went through. So I missed one night at the hotel and had to pay for it and no little bit of kindness from them at all. Also, my room was on the second floor. Didn’t realize there wasn’t an elevator that I saw anywhere so I had to look all my luggage up and down. Also, when I took a shower, there was no soap dish in the stall, which was really odd. It’s very strange to have to hold the soap in your hand the whole time and then walk out of the stall with soap in your hand. Construction was also going on.

The bathrooms need to be re-done. There is a shower curtain that does NOT work to keep the water in the shower area. As a result, water gets all over the floor, and there is mold on the baseboards in the bathroom, near the shower. This is not good. Also, adding an inexpensive bar or hook for the inside of the bathroom door would come in very handy.

I liked the ample parking and wide spaces. I appreciated there was a bar on the premises. The room smelled ok, no annoying air fresheners. The amenities were adequate and while bare bones, did have spots of quirky upgrades, retro-style refrigerator and microwave. That being said, it would take a degree in electrical engineering to figure out how the AC and microwave worked.

Wi-Fi was good. Staff was polite. The room looked nice on day one. I would not stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights. First room, 101, smelled like a sewer. Asked for a different room. None available. Identified shower drain as source of stench and plugged it and tried to ventilate room. Went to check out in morning, but was offered room 116. This room was fine. Would not chance staying ever again.

Our room was dirty and has cobwebs. The plastic where the pillows were was filthy the door and floorboards were bad. The curtains didn’t close all the way causing light from outside to come through all night. Our room was near the stairs so we heard people walking by throughout the night.

Was ok, but over rated. Was disappointed we did not have a continental breakfast. Besides the initial cost of the hotel this was the first place we stayed that required an additional 150- deposit on your credit card, in case there was damage to the room. They said it is refunded at checkout.

The front desk staff was very courteous. The room was essentially clean, but quite tired. Touch up paint needed, the floor (vinyl) needed repair, the bathroom was minimal, and there was only a quarter roll of toilet paper. On the plus side they gave us a free drink at the Tiki Hut, which was nice.

We loved the retro styling — it gave the hotel a fun, unique character. The budget-friendly price made it an even better value, especially considering the great location close to town. Everything was convenient, comfortable, and easy, making this a really enjoyable place to stay. We’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish stay without breaking the bank.

Another great stay at Avalon Hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean, aesthetically-pleasing, and conveniently located to downtown. I look forward to my next stay. My only recommendation would be to consider new bedside lamps with built-in USB-C compatible charging stations as the hotel is older and there are few electrical outlets in the rooms.

While it’s not a 4-star hotel, the price can’t be beat, the hotel staff are great… It definitely needs more quality work done to the rooms, but the overall retro vibe was fantastic… If you’re expecting the Don Cesar you will be disappointed, but if you stay in economy hotels you will be delighted…

Only a couple things that I wasnt happy with. The front desk wasnt helpful when we asked questions. They said they werent from around there and couldnt answer our questions. The cleaning people entered our room when we were out. We werent told about this. I dont like people in my room when I am not there.

The bed was very comfortable, the staff was great, and the bar was very fun with great original drinks. The room itself has very cute retro style decoration that definitely stands out. The shower curtain unfortunately, was a little bit on the short side so the water was not completely contained when in use. And lastly the faucet for the hand sink felt very loose. That being said, it was a great stay and will like to return.

Very close to the airport. It's an older property and not super impressive, but quiet and clean which is most important. Communication via text isn't great (half the time I wouldn't get a response and I'd end up calling or stopping by), but staff was very nice and helpful. They were so kind and gave me a free disposable toothbrush and I was so grateful as I was carless while staying there. Large smart water price was totally do-able. Overall I was pleased and would stay there again in a pinch. Thank you!

Doors to the rooms had a gap in them! Was taken to two other rooms and had the same problems! Patio had mold on it from the water draining onto the patio floor! I could not believe that hotel.com showed a rating of 8.4 for Golden Host, which it should be rated at a 5.0. Hotel.com should verified hotel that they advertise for, to assure people that hotel.com have our back!

The resort is not luxurious but if you are looking for a place to stay that is close to airport, about 20 minutes to the beach and is tidy this is a great spot. We stayed 4 nights, and would stay again on another quick trip to the area.

Because some people don't feel comfortable walking into a bar to get ice. I also feel extra charges should be communicated before arrival it was shocking to find out even with booking.Through expedia, there was still another hundred and fifty dollar refundable charge .That unplanned charge did put a hindrance on my trip finances.

The only bad thing that I can say about this place is that there is no food on site. Room was clean (and a little retro), beds were comfy, staff was excellent and helpful, and the Bahi Hut drinks were the best!

This was our first trip to Florida and I have to say, was not disappointed! The only thing I do wish was the restaurant was open but being that we stayed during off season, it wasn’t that bad. Everything was in close range to us.

The easiest way to sum up our stay is to say WOW AND OUTSTANDING! Talk about great people, great rooms, amazing tiki bar and an awesome pool area.

The bed was so comfortable. Staff was wonderful.

There is no elevator to second floor. But the front desk was able to switch our floor to the main level to accommodate an older family member with us. (( Just a heads up in case you might be traveling with someone with limited mobility)) The vibe of the hotel is fun and retro. I felt like I was in Elvis's Blue Hawaii.

We would have given an overall 4 but Saturday evening was extremely loud (the speakers were just outside our room) and we were told it would shut down at 10. Not the case, it was more like 11. Evening front desk did not seem too concerned about our concerns. Had we known there was a wedding, we may have not booked. Some other comments about the room: A/C was a little wonky at first, actually did not blow much air but it eventually cooled down. There is no place to hang anything. Perhaps convert the alcove into a closet. Otherwise, the remodel is cute, pool area is very nice and we came soley because of the Bahi Hut (our first visit). Front desk staff upon arrival were very friendly.

The hotel is very convenient to SRQ and has an old nostalgic Florida vibe. The staff is amazing and solves issues if they arise. I would say some interior details need attention from a handyman. Great bar and a swimming pool on-site.

The bed was comfortable and the room was nice but cleaning was the only thing I would fault, the room was surface level cleaned but the cleaners need to remember to clean under things and behind the beds

The room had an overwhelming musty smell, but seemed to be clean. I could not use the hairdryer, because the outlet the hairdryer was attached to, was not working (rm. 117). Bed was comfortable enough and the room itself was ok as well. I would stay there again, if the room would not smell of musty. Overall it was ok.

Staff very friendly. You can tell the age of the property but from what I could tell well maintained. Only thing I would say is the water pressure isn’t the best for my thick curly hair. This was the 2nd time I’ve stayed here and just booked a 3rd visit next week. I like to be left alone after procedures and they were very accommodating and understanding.

Property was great.it was everything that it said it would be. Was told by Expedia that I had a perk and to ask when I arrived at check in. When I arrived to the resort they said I was not given anything and that is was usually would pop up during check in. I showed them a screenshot of said perk but was not given anything.

Only stayed one night and weather was rainy during my stay so unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy the pool, but liked having a balcony. Room is large and clean, cute retro appliances, friendly staff, good vibes at this hotel. Would recommend!

This is an old hotel so if you're looking for the Ritz this isn't your place, but for an inexpensive place with a fun bar this is a good overnight. If you order the Mai Tai at the bar, trust me you only need two! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was overall excellent with friendly staff and great amenities, but cleanliness needs improvement. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, towels were limited, and the pool had mold with messy surroundings. With better upkeep, this could be a five-star stay.

Cute colorful stay, quite roomy room with everything we would need for a weekend stay. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! We walked into a bit of a stuffy room and were unable to figure out how to make the room feel cooler. We reached out to front and they were quick to respond and help us out. Enough parking which is nice, close to grocery stores, dollar tree and many restaurants. The room was decently clean, there was a hole in the headboard and the cushion seat looked like it needed a vacuum. Bed was comfy and there’s a tiki hut bar that plays live music but unfortunately it was closed for a private event. Fun weekend and a nice play to stay for the weekend for the price.

This is such a fun property to stay at. The pool is huge and salt water. The rooms are decorated midcentury modern which is pretty cool. We had a balcony on second floor which was great to sit outside on for a breeze. Air conditioner worked well. We loved the tiki bar next door, and the food truck across the street will blow your mind. The rooms were clean, but outside could definitely use a cleaning. But dont let that worry you. We bought a few souvenirs the night we checked in.. and by the next morning on wednesday i wished i had more.. but they dont let the front desk do any sales.. just the manager can. But the manager decided to not come in that weekday so thats kind of bummed us out. We could have waited till the bar opened at 12, but with a 11am checkout thats not really an option.

It was clean and convenient for the reason i was in Sarasota. The little bar on the property a fun.

The Tiki Bar is everything! The bartender and the guests in the bar sang happy birthday to me and the drinks were awesome! I didn't like that I was originally assigned a room on the second floor. This property is motel style--No Elevators! The front desk staff changed me to a first floor accommodation without issue. All the staff were very welcoming.

Stayed here multiple times, one of my favorite places to stay in the area. There were a couple issues in the room I had. The deadbolt did not lock and did not feel safe, woke up after my first night to the door ajar. There were stains on the towels and shower curtain. I notified the front desk when I checked out and was told a manager would contact me and have yet to hear from someone.

The bed was too soft and low for me. The rest of the hotel was great. Service and house keeping were on top of everything. The pool was gorgeous and spacious.

Front desk staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The room was clean and the pool and patio were beautiful. The mattress was a bit soft for my taste. The only thing missing was a bit more than coffee at breakfast, maybe some muffins to go with the coffee.

El area de la piscina esta espectacular. Las personas que te atienden cuando llegas son muy amigables y cooperativos. The room was clean and the decorations was super cool. El cuarto estaba limpio y la decoración estaba súper nitida.

We enjoyed our stay

The hotel was clean and staff very accommodating. Although a senior with health conditions I couldn’t get a handicapped room on bottom level. This hotel didn’t have an elevator and I was told the rate I received didn’t qualify for a room on the first floor. I didn’t bother having dinner there because I would have had to go up and down several times. The music from the Tiki Bar was very loud and so was the air conditioning unit. Disappointed!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this resort I wasn't sure what to expect coming in from Orlando. My room was clean very spacious I was able to get a blow-up mattress for my teenager in the room with no problem plenty of room to walk around. Staff was amazing and friendly and checked in with us each day. Pool area was neat clean and spacious for guests to be able to sit in the shade and eat or just lounge around the pool deck. Their website pictures match their rooms and establishment. Very close proximity to the Sarasota beaches and shopping. I will definitely be booking another weekend trip with them.

Front desk check in and check out attendants were very polite and helpful.

It was an amazing and clean stay, very friendly staff 5 stars! Decent pricing too!! Me and my family loved staying here and the pool as well :) the bar offers amazing drinks and entertainment to!

Very friendly family run place, great for a short stay. Lovely large room with fridge and coffee machine, free coffee and popcorn 24 hrs with a bar on site and pretty pool area. On a busy main road though.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The only issue was the A/C, it was noisy and did not cool very well.

It's an older hotel, but we had no issues! Bed was comfy, staff was nice, and room was clean and serviced daily.

And no one told me before that I would have to put a $100 a Room down for a deposit

Outdated run down rooms smelled musty

Downside, the water pressure was a bit weak and there was no liner on the shower, just a flimsy cloth curtain that let water go everywhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a thing. No other issues. Had a great stay!

Golden Host Is A Great Place To Stay

The staff here are amazing. Nice, clean, comfy room. The place is very well kept. Convenient location, reasonable rate. I'll be staying here again next time I'm in Sarasota for July 4th celebration.

We loved our staycation in this hotel. Definitely we will come back. Clean room, friendly staff, great amenities.

The pool area was a fun little spot for us to hang out.

Stayed here for our 4 day honeymoon. The room was gorgeous, clean, front staff was super nice and gave us no problems. However housekeeping could be improved. Not once did they clean our room or at least bring in fresh towels or change the trash we had to do it ourselves. They also spoke no English so it was hard to communicate. The place REEKED of weed. It was very noisy. Our door lock also messed up And during our last night there was someone knocking on our door at 10 pm. I felt very unsafe and spooked out. So while it is a beautiful hotel I think this will be our last stay.
