Thank you for a relaxing , homely stay!

My only thing is that there was not a microwave in the room. I had to eat leftover Yoder’s shepherds pie all cold from the fridge. Just a little thing. Everything else was lovely about this hotel. Also, donuts for breakfast… why doesn’t everyone do this?? Excellent touch!

Very comfortable beds and pillows! The breakfast was ok. As others have written, the dishes didn’t change from day to day and I was not a fan of the coffee. The staff was helpful and friendly. The Carlisle Inn has my highest recommendation!!

From the moment we walked in, everything felt welcoming and well cared for. The rooms were large and comfortable, giving us plenty of space to actually breathe and relax (which is saying something when you’re used to “hotel yoga” just to move around luggage). One of our favorite features was the closet/dressing area setup. Having a separate space with its own sink and mirror—completely apart from the main bathroom—was genius. No waiting, no bumping elbows, no morning “I just need five more minutes in the mirror!” chaos. And spotless doesn’t even begin to cover it. This place was SPOTLESS. You could practically eat off the floor… though we stuck with the dining table, just to be polite. Overall, we highly recommend this place and would absolutely stay again. Clean, comfortable, roomy, and thoughtfully designed—it really felt like someone built it with guests in mind instead of just filling a building with beds.

What beautiful and accommodating establishment and staff. Beds were way to firm for comfort. But was told they are getting all new i. September. The rest of the elegance and beauty of everything, from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms was absolutely fantastic.

The breakfast is great but otherwise there is no restaurant. You’ll have to go next door to the sister property Der Dutchman for lunch or dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

This was truly one of my best hotel experiences to date. The room was exceptionally clean, thoughtfully laid out, and featured a very convenient kitchen. The facilities were well-maintained throughout, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. A special shout-out to the baked oatmeal served at breakfast, it was delicious! I will definitely be staying here again with my family.

I am so amazed with our stay at the Carlisle. We were celebrating my birthday and the day of my birthday the front desk called me over and handed me a birthday card and a delicious piece of homemade blueberry pie with whipped cream. What other place does that? I did not want to leave after our stay was up. Our room was spotless, room service is outstanding. Breakfast was delicious. We ate at the Dutchman Restaurant which is right outside the Carlisle, same parking lot, a few night, had the buffet. We went to other restaurants all over Sarasots and food was not to par so we decided to remain at the Dutchman for the rest of our stay. Delicious, homemade foods. And their BAKERY! You will put on a few pounds! Lol. . I will return. I have told so many people and shared Carlisles website. I am a very picky person, pretty much ocd. Carlisle is perfect. Quiet hotel and only 5 miles to Siesta Key Beach. Planning on when I am returning.

We LOVE the Carlisle! We have stayed several times and it’s always so clean and the staff went above and beyond to make our trip special for my daughter’s birthday. The pool area is great and breakfast is wonderful! We love the simplicity of the decor and the sweet instrumental hymns playing throughout the hotel! Very family friendly! 100% recommend!

Two sinks were available - one in the bathroom and another in the "dressing "room with the mini fridge. I wish the fridge had a freezer section. Otherwise, everything was accessible. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The property as a whole was very nice. The desk staff was helpful and courteous. The restaurant/ store was a nice addition to our trip. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the history of Amish roots around the area, would definitely stay here again!

The Carlisle in is an excellent motel. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a lot of variety and was very tasty.

My one and only complaint is that the beds are a bit too firm for me. But otherwise it’s fantastic! Celebrity treatment at a good price!

This was truly a first class vacation. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were met by the friendliest and smiling staff. The room exceeded our expectations, the pool area was so relaxing, the grill let us have a fun cookout, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful.

The staff was very friendly and efficient, we had a very warm welcome. The room was very spacious and very clean. Beds and pillows bery comfortable. Breakfast was nice, great coffee, eggs, sausages, some fruits and pastries, juices, some cereals and a make your own waffle machine. Breakfast area was large and welcoming. We loved the soft piano music throughout the common areas. A free newspaper every day and cookies for everyone in the lobby from. 4 pm till 8 pm. We had a great stay and we will be back sometime. Highly recommended hotel.🤗❤️

This place was amazing, peaceful and we were able to commute to the beach no problem! The breakfast was great and so were the cookies they give out daily! Very clean and cozy. Like extremely clean. Staff are very kind. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend!

Stay was very good. Only complaint is that the beds were uncomfortable and breakfast is always the same and average not much variety. Property is closed to everything and only 10 minutes away from the beach.

Upon arrival my husband and I knew we were going to have a great stay. We were greeted by Shannon-do very friendly and helpful, gave us dinner recommendations and even walked us to the elevator. Our room was clean, bed comfy and very quiet. The breakfast the following morning was plentiful and fresh. Again the service at breakfast was friendly and cheery. A pretty perfect stay!

I absolutely loved this hotel. From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly friendly (Marge is great!). I went with my parents and sister, and I have to say we all loved the service from everyone who works there. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean; the hotel is very peaceful and quiet, and it’s in a great location. The breakfasts were incredible—I loved this place! I’ll definitely be back 💕

Cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. This was our 5th stay and the only place we will stay in the area.

The room was pristine, well equipped and spacious. Staff were all friendly and took time to ask where we were from and were super helpful. Breakfast was limited but what was on offer was excellent. We stopped at this hotel for a week in 2025 and were blown away by the quality of this hotel. As we were visiting Sarasota for a couple of days in 2026 we had no hesitation in booking the Carlisle again.

The hotel was immaculate and decorated like home. Much of the furniture was made by the Amish which brought in superior qualify. The room had 2 sinks and was extremely spacious. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The location was off the beaten path, but still easy to access popular destinations and worth it for such a nice hotel. There were quilts hanging as decor which were lovely.

This is a beautiful hotel centrally located in Sarasota. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and super comfortable. All the services needed were provided well. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Only complaint I have is our room didn’t have a microwave the property is beautiful and staff is very friendly. You have to upgrade to a deluxe room in order to get a microwave. It’s truly is a great property!

The hotel was lovely. It was clean, fresh-appearing; the staff was friendly and kind; the room was very spacious and very clean. I didn't spend much time in the hotel because I was visiting family, but it was a restful oasis. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend this hotel. (The only concern was a perfume smell that was very strong while the air conditioning was running. I turned off the fan and didn't notice the odor again.)

This was the most serene, pleasant, environment I could have asked for. The rooms were large, thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. The food was excellent too. I'm looking for an excuse to go back

2 minor areas for improvement: water pressure in our room (2nd floor) was very weak. The gym had good variety but is small; difficult to work out with more than 2 guests in the gym at a time. Location is 10-20 min from all the Sarasota attractions. 40 min to Anna Maria Island. Highly recommend!

I never write reviews but I greatly recommend Carlisle in Sarasota. This has to be the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The free breakfast included was perfect. I will definitely make this my go to hotel anytime I visit Sarasota. My husband and I had a great experience. 10/10

Staff was SOOO kind and the rooms and hotel were extremely clean. We borrowed beach chairs, umbrella and toys for our kids to take to the beach. The complimentary cookies in the evening were one of our favorite touches. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and we will definitely be coming back.

Spacious rooms, very nice staff, and we loved how quiet it was. Although the hotel was full, we never heard any of our neighbors, and got plenty of rest! The only thing I would add is more shade in the pool area and a selection of tea. The best hotel we’ve stayed at in the US!

King suite was very comfortable and spacious. King bed was comfortable. Bathroom is large and ideal with double sink. Free breakfast is a plus. No bar or liquor on premises but BYOB to the room is acceptable. Only small issue is the bed pillows are not the best. I would hope that a King bed would have King pillows which I would think would be more comfortable.

What a hidden gem. Very impressive. Quiet property, friendly staff, clean and very well maintained. Staff was always available. Food delicious and a wide variety of selection to choose from. Coffee and pastries delicious. Sat my pool area and drank coffee and relaxed . Front desk recommended several nearby restaurants. We ate at the Columbia restaurant and absolutely loved it. Would stay again.

The staff was amazing as usual. The food was good. The first room I was in unfortunately the ac did not work. Although a maintenance worker tried to fix the issue it did not work and I had to move to another room the next morning. The staff was very accommodating. They really make you feel like family. Love the atmosphere.

This hotel is my favorite hotel we’ve ever stayed in. So clean and cozy. And beautifully decorated. Everyone is so nice. I was sad we only stayed one night. We came down to Florida for Christmas to visit family. And my daughter does competition gymnastics, and her team had a competition in Sarasota.. so we stopped here for the competition on the way down to spend the rest of our Christmas break. Now we have been talking about the possibility of coming back sometime to visit and stay longer. This hotel is just so nice. Breakfast was tasty coffee was the BEST. And we didn’t even get a chance to go over and check out the shops around here. And the Der Dutchman restaurant. Also the beach isn’t a far drive.

The pool area was nice, though the spa was closed on one day and the weather was chilly. Breakfast was acceptable but repetitive, with the same options offered each morning. The hotel is ideal for a clean and comfortable stay, though it offers limited on-site entertainment, as there is no restaurant or music.

I come to the area about twice per year to visit family and I always stay at the Carlisle Inn. The rooms are impeccable and nicely sized. The sound-proofing is really good. I'm usually on the 2nd floor and cannot hear any sounds between rooms side to side or above and below, and hardly any sounds in the hallway of people passing. The whole interior is very serene. The free breakfast is great too.

I booked the Inn because it had a 10 star customer rating. The staff was extremely pleasant. The hotel was very nice. The free breakfast was good but they had the same choices every day. They had International Delight coffee creamers which you don’t find at most hotels. We had a corner room which was very large and had a full kitchen with washer and dryer which was great. You can buy Tide Pods at the front desk for $1.00 each. I only have 2 complaints. 1. There were black hairs in the shower and when I picked up the tub mat to lay it in the shower it also had black hair all over it. Very gross. 2. The lighting in the bathroom is very dim so we would get ready in front of a mirror in the living room. There was also a lightbulb that needed to be replaced in the bathroom. We requested it about 3 days into our 6 day stay but they never put a new lightbulb in. The location was very good. Close to St. Armands Circle which I highly recommend for food and shopping. We took a drive to Venice which is only about a 25 minute drive. There is also a walking trail behind the Inn which leads to an outdoor sports complex where we played pickleball. They have a restaurant on site across the parking lot which was very nice. What the site does not tell you is that this is an Amish hotel so there is no bar on site and no alcohol at the restaurant. Although there is complimentary breakfast every day I would recommend going to the restaurant and trying the buffet breakfast.

The hotel is nothing fancy but has large, clean rooms, pool, gym facilities, and a helpful support staff. There is a large affiliated restaurant on the property complex called the Der Dutchman which has simple but relatively inexpensive food. Both the hotel and restaurant as well as the strip mall are owned by an Amish group from Ohio.

Everything from check in to check out was great. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is that the shutters in the room didn't block out the sun in the morning. It should be a law that all hotels must have blackout drapes. Despite my exhaustion, I just couldn't sleep in with the sun creeping in through the cracks in the shutters. Request a room on the west side of the hotel if you value your sleep.

This hotel is extremely clean and well kept, both inside and out! The rooms are very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The room we stayed in didn't seem to adjust to the temperature we set despite having the shades closed all day (these new motion sensing HVAC systems are a poor idea). Bring a fan if you like air circulation! The bathrooms are spacious and the shower space is massive, but please, put a shower head in that matches the space! Breakfast was fresh and hot but lacked healthy options

Overall this hotel was very clean, the staff was very accommodating and we had an enjoyable stay. The only minor issues we the rooms lacked certain features like ceiling fans in the sleeping area and exhaust fans in the bathroom. Also one of the two elevators was out of service during our entire stay. As I said only minor concerns. The location of the hotel was convenient to many dining options. We didn't dine in the companion restaurant Der Dutchman but we sampled some of their baked goods which were outstanding. All in all, we would stay here again.

The room was very clean, neat, bathroom was good, water very hot. The only thing missing was in-shower body wash on the wall. This room had regular soap bars. But I would stay again for sure.

My only complaint is the piped in music. It is played in public throughout the hotel and in the outdoor areas. We were on the second floor and could hear it at 630am, in our room through the closed door! It's too loud and you can't get away from it. I needed quiet to concentrate on my work and couldn't find a place away from the music. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.

Everything about the say was absolute perfection. What a great place! and the restaurant next-door was absolutely amazing. The only change I would make would be to the showerheads. The water pressure wasn’t great and the shower spray was too spread out so you had to take longer to rinse. But overall, it was amazing.

This is an excellent hotel. Experienced, professional staff are very helpful. Rooms are large, well-appointed and very clean. The hallways between rooms in this hotel are the widest I have ever seen, and decorated with tables, lamps and couches. Common areas such as lobby, convention areas and breakfast areas are large and very nice. This is an Amish hotel that has all the modern conveniences and great hospitality. The hotel shares a parking lot with Der Dutchman, a restaurant owned by the same group as the hotel. The room was great value for the money.

I have stayed twice. The staff is always friendly. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are very large. The stay includes breakfast which is very good. The hotel is conveniently located the beaches, downtown and the mall.

1. Elevator Functionality & Accessibility One of the most basic expectations when staying at any hotel is ease of access to your room. This hotel had only two elevators—one of which was completely out of service during my entire stay. The other elevator appeared to be in poor working condition and was extremely slow. On multiple occasions, I waited up to 8 minutes just to get to or from my room, which is entirely unacceptable. A fully booked hotel with only one barely functioning elevator is a serious inconvenience and should have been addressed immediately, especially considering the premium pricing guests are paying. 2. Breakfast Service & Quality Expectations Another disappointment was the breakfast service. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected breakfast to be served with appropriate tableware. Instead, everything was served on paper plates, which felt cheap and out of place. Even a plastic or ceramic plate would have been more suitable. This reflects poor judgment by management and gives the impression of cost-cutting at the expense of guest experience. 3. In-Room Maintenance Issues I stayed in a suite that included a kitchen,the dishwasher did not work at all. And the kitchen light kept turning off with bad wiring .

Solid good breakfast, you can bring trays to eat in your room. Delicious baked goods and cookies served every evening. Nice spacious rooms, wonderful pool area with pool toys provided. You definitely need transportation to get around (beaches are all at least 15-20 mins away) although a convenient shopping plaza is across the street, about a 5-7 minute walk. One other con is that some of the Amish/Mennonite people staying at the property were not very friendly.

Our second visit to The Carlisle, and it is just as perfect as the first, after a three year gap. We love its calm and relaxed atmosphere, the wonderful staff, the excellent cleanliness, ease of parking and the basic, but delicious free breakfast. No bar, but it is perfectly fine to bring your own alcohol into your room if you choose to do so. Highly recommended, and can't wait to stay here again.

Excellent hotel; one of the best we have ever stayed at and we travel a lot! This is our second time here and we came back due to the amazing staff, meticulously clean lobby, rooms, pool, and the best Amish buffet- Der Dutchman. The minute you walk into the lobby, you can see how clean it is and how professional the staff are. Breakfast is free, all you can eat and very good. The pool is very nice and the patio is beautiful; we love sitting outside on a warm night. My only complaint and I won’t change my 5 star rating because I love this hotel so much, is the pillows. They are awful. We all had stiff necks from them. My advice is bring your own pillow.

It’s a perfect little gem!

Wonderful property with great Amish bakery & amazing gift shop next to it. You get a cookie at hotel which are absolute scrumptious! Good clean workout room, pool, & would highly recommend. Room was spacious & nice amenities. 👍👍👍

Very nice hotel. Staff were courteous and professional. Excellent place to stay with the whole family.

Breakfast was great Nancy and the maintenace person ( didn't catch his name) were so helpful when the water machine wouldn't work they apologized and gave us water bottles. It truly was a wonderful stay.I will definitely return and stay longer one night wasnt enough.

Friendly Nice Great value for such a nice hotel

This hotel is a real gem. From the friendly staff to the fact that everything worked (which is a rarity in even the best hotels these days), I'd strongly recommend staying here. The food at the restaurant buffet next door can't be beat.

It was so pleasant to be around pleasant people...and people who actual cared about the people and their job. Im planning how i can get back to just stay here again

Wonderful hotel with a great and friendly staff! Delicious breakfast served till 10:30 which is great when you want to sleep in a little! Delicious fresh baked cookies offered from 4-8:00!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carlisle Inn. It was exceptionally clean and the staff was amazing. Definitely would stay there again and will recommend this place to everyone.

The rooms were spotless, from the fresh, crisp sheets to the fluffy towels, everything was impeccably clean. The pool area was equally well-maintained, making it a pleasure to relax and unwind. The service throughout our stay was simply outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our visit enjoyable. Breakfast was included in our stay, and it was out of this world, so many delicious options, beautifully presented, and plenty to satisfy every taste. We also had the pleasure of dining at their on-site restaurant, Der Dutchman, and it was another highlight of the trip. The buffet was both affordable and impressive, offering a wide variety of fresh, flavorful dishes. The service there matched the excellence of the hotel; warm, welcoming, and efficient. This stay was memorable in every way, and I’m already planning to return next year. Carlisle Inn and Der Dutchman truly know how to deliver top-notch hospitality. Highly recommended!

Staff was so helpful and friendly. Room was beautiful and the art in the hallways was wonderful. I had underestimated the time we would need to catch our AM flight but I would stay here again in the future. We had wonderful conversations with the staff and learned so much from them.
