Reviews
Guests generally enjoy the hotel's location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The art decor and rooftop pool/bar are also popular. However, some guests have issues with the valet parking, noise, and certain amenities like toilet paper quality and shower floor slipperiness.
- Great location with many restaurants and shops within walking distance
- Friendly and efficient staff
- Valet parking can be pricey and slow
- Some guests experience noise issues, particularly from the rooftop bar or nearby rooms

We have an amazing time. The hotel has a good location. We definitely want to come back.
- 5/5
The hotel staff are amazing Loved every second Highly recommend
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay with our two pups. The room was clean and staff was super nice. Loved the roof top pool.
- 5/5
Clean room but there is a charge for everything, no microwave in rooms
- 5/5
We felt so welcoming! Great stuff - always smiling, always helpful, great service. Thank you!
- 4/5
Convenient in-town location from which it is easy to walk to many shops and restaurants, farmers market, and marina. Wonderful views from the roof-top bar and swimming pool. We enjoyed most of our stay. Unfortunately, our room had an unattractive view of rooftop units. I was also displeased with a hefty resort fee for services I wasn't interested in, and which constituted an additional surcharge of more than 10%.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel with exceptional pool area and pool staff. Room was comfy with large shower and bathroom. Location is also very good. AC unit was a bit noisy but this was sorted as soon as reported.

Not worth it
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Staff was amazing from the front desk, the maintenance to the pool, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend foe ay time. Walking distance to all

We absolutely loved our stay at Art Ovation. My family and I needed a place to stay while relocating, we made the right choice at Art Ovation! The staff was so friendly and accommodating to my dog Martian and newborn baby boy. We had a wonderful time and felt so welcomed by everyone. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious and location was perfect! Thank you Art Ovation for going above and beyond for us :)

Will stay here again very soon.

Excellent service from the staff. Nicely maintained and clean hotel.

Great hotel, great location easy to walk to everything
- 3/5
The room overall looked outdated and was not clean. The chair by the desk had visible stains or dirt spots and did not appear to have been properly cleaned. The bathroom was also not clean, which made the stay uncomfortable and disappointing. The property location is great and the staff is very friendly!

Great service in the room was fantastic
- 5/5
Comfortable accommodations and kind staff. Request to NOT stay in room 422. Was woken up by some rhythmic mechanical pounding noise at 4am. Sounded like it was hotel machinery somewhere nearby.
- 5/5
What an awesome stay and so nice to be in the middle of downtown Sarasota…will be back!!!
- 4/5
Great property - I wouldn’t say it’s kept as clean as it could be - there were muddy footprints outside the elevator when we arrived and three days later hey were still there. The room was comfortable and clean - housekeeping doesn’t replenish unless you ask, apparently. HVAC is extremely loud so it cycles off and on all night which isn’t ideal if you are a light sleeper, but overall a nice hotel and we would stay again knowing what to expect.
- 5/5
The hotel was excellent. Food was good. Shuttle service to everywhere was fantastic! Great rooftop bar and pool area. Downtown location, which was perfect.
- 5/5
It’s a great location and friendly staff
- 2/5
Im not going to lie, for the amount of money that was spent for the room i would say that the holiday inn have much nicer beds then this place the bed was so hard felt like u was sleeping on a bench at the beach, when we came to our room it had had someone else name for the welcoming, and the walls are so then i heard everyone conversation. I will say they did have nice art work
- 5/5
Great staff good food and drinks Really too expensive with added on resort fees for services we didn't use

This hotel is so cute! Everyone was so friendly. Well styled clean rooms, and the shower water pressure was amazing.
- 2/5
Otherwise, the staff was outstanding and nice. It is a nice hotel, just very poor soundproofing.

Best part of hotel was Sarah the main floor bartender. Incredibly helpful and kind. Even made sure to get my son’s lost sunglasses back to us. Also an amazing resource for local restaurants.
- 4/5
Shuttle was always busy taking flight crews to the air port. Had to uber.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in a good location with friendly staff. Only thing to watch is there is a high compulsory resort charge. We didn’t use any of the additional perks it covered so watch this when comparing hotel prices. Also there are lots of significantly cheaper parking costs on the streets nearby
- 4/5
My only draw back to this property was parking. older facility but rooms were aged but clean and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room friendly checking in nice rooms
- 4/5
The shuttle driver was busy transporting flight crews both of the times I called. Seems to be guests come last They also have a night club on the roof that blasts music until 1 am on Friday and sat. Were were on the floor below but in the opposites side of the hotel and were kept up till 1 am!
- 4/5
The hotel is a happening place with both lobby and poolside entertainment. It's located downtown near all the best restaraunts. The valet parking is also convenient. My only "complaint", which the hotel is aware of, is that the bed headrests are showing serious wear and tear, so much so that there is a sign on them saying, while clean, they know they should be replaced. Hopefully, that sign won't be there a year from now.
- 4/5
I suggest hiring an art consultant , possibly from the neighboring museum, that can adjudicate the art that is on display all over the hotel .
- 5/5
Always excellent
- 5/5
The entire staff were outstanding in their services and their attitude.
- 2/5
yes we did enjoy the pool
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The noise level on the rooms is terrible, you can hear everything going on the rooms next door and outside, I was constantly woken up by this. Overall I liked it, but it wasn’t worth it, was expecting more for what I paid.
- 5/5
While the hotel offers satisfactory accommodations, the high pricing structure necessitates the inclusion of at least two complimentary bottles of water, as all amenities within the room are subject to additional charges.
- 4/5
The party and catering facilities were superb.
- 5/5
Best in class. Great location and property
- 5/5
Staff; cleanliness; location
- 4/5
Shuttle Restaurant was poor, both for dinner and breakfast Didn’t like all the extra and expensive fees—daily parking $45 and other $28 fee

Very nice hotel and staff
- 5/5
5 star! Great property and easy access to town.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! The room was spacious and well appointed, the art in the lobby was interesting and the staff accommodating.
- 2/5
-1 of 2 elevators was not working the entire weekend. -TV volume would not go up high enough to hear Netflix movies well. Volume was fine for regular TV. -May have been acceptable for a 2 or 3 star hotel but disappointing for a hotel advertised as 4 stars for $800/night -Required amenity fee in addition to hotel cost
- 5/5
Yes, the room was very clean. I loooved the comfy robes. The lighting could be better. I loved the coffee bar and the all the drawers. I did not like the headboard on the bed, very ugly and was damaged. Nice big desk, another chair would be great for two people if they want to eat in the room. I really liked the water pressure and the big shower and the large vanity with the drawers. The lobby art was amazing and the restaurant was also very good for breakfast. We did not eat dinner or lunch there. Staff was great, our phone did not work but it was fixed the next day after we mentioned it. The upstairs bar and pool were very nice as well but too cold to take advantage of it.
- 4/5
The room was clean and we were able to order food/drinks, as needed. The coffee maker wasn't stocked so, we needed to request additional pods for filling/using which was fine. They didn't answer the phone very quickly when we had questions which isn't horrible yet, it took time to engage everyone. Maybe they are understaffed? We went to the rooftop bar and no greeter so, we walked our way to the bar and had a long wait for service yet, the staff was nice yet, everything is a bit slow. Likewise, at night we attended the bar in the lobby and again, a long wait for service for both drinks and food yet, it happened. The artwork is okay - nothing outstanding. It's nice to see a place supporting artist on every floor with a gallery display of items that are for sale. Hopefully, they flip the artwork frequently for more interest and visability. Slow service all around the hotel and servicers who aren't engaged in what they do for a living. They were clearly at a job and just waiting for a shift to end. Roof top band at night carried down to the room and made it difficult to sleep.

Nice hotel great breakfast
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful!
- 5/5
All experiences were first class.
- 2.5/5
Room was a little shabby with peeling vinyl headboard and dated bathroom. The destination fee is outrageous and not made very clear when booking: a $28 a day extra charge on top of the day rate. This covers, amongst a couple of other things, shuttle service, a welcome drink, and an in-room instrument! That's right, you pay an extra fee for a kids' ukulele in your room. Odd, but apparently all part of the immersive experience of staying at the resort. Art Ovation is not a resort and there is no immersive experience unless the experience in question is being milked like a cash cow. Blatent mis-selling and a terrible add-on cost.

Clean room, loved the nespresso, , the towels and robe were fantastic.

Beautiful hotel, great service, food in restaurants was delicious. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back!
- 4/5
Excellent location, clean rooms, helpful and friendly desk staff. Valet parking costs $45/day so we opted for the city lot across the street. The hotel lends beach chairs and towels, a nice amenity, and the roof bar is great. Not quite a luxury hotel, but a good choice in Sarasota if the budget allows.
- 4/5
Property was nice very clean and modern. We booked a high rise room they put us on the fourth floor, something about water damage to the room we were suppose to get. They gave us vouchers for the valet parking that equaled $45 dollars per day. That’s great but it was our anniversary and I really wanted the high rise city view room. Plus I know we spend more money for that room than just the $45 vouchers. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so we let it go. Second our booking included breakfast when we went to eat they told us we had to go to the customer service counter… turns out that by booking through booking it’s supposedly a second party that we only get two vouchers per day of $50 for breakfast and it was me my husband and daughter. We had to obviously pay the difference because the restaurant is pricey. Other than that the hotel is beautiful and the valet guys are very nice. So pretty much disappointed for the amount of money spend it’s not worth it.

Great service and personalities from Sarah in the bar and the gentleman from Milan in Tzeva on New Year’s Eve. Location is perfect too for theaters and dining
- 5/5
Great location. Lovely rooms.
- 4/5
Room was fairly beat up with no microwave or cups or anything.
- 3/5
Room was pretty beat up. Hole in carpet, scratches on head board, toilet obnoxiously loud, staff at roof top bar and valet first day were quite rude. (Parking fees $40 per night and $28 “daily destination” silly. For the “exceptional” rating online I was disappointed. Location is prime and lobby, art areas, shop are lovely.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent.
- 3/5
Nice staff, and hotel… beautiful area near the bay
- 4/5
The property looks nice and staff displayed great hospitality. The bed headboards are damaged and it downgraded the aesthetic. There was no music in the lobby at all. Not happy to pay a resort fee and not be given much in amenities.
- 1.5/5
Great location. Nice style Two unauthorised charges made. Please be very careful and check the bill thoroughly and don’t use the rooftop bar. Charged for minbar items which we didn’t touch , after we had left, so didn’t get a chance to dispute it whist there. Did get a refund for that. Also charged twice at the rooftop bar. Haven’t got a refund for that and they have stopped answering messages . Be very very careful
- 5/5
Same as always……..EXCEPTIONAL AND AWESOME!! THe nice touches you all do really stand out. Warm cookies, sangria at sign in and ALL the goodies in the room make for an awesome stay. It’s our go to in Sarasota and has awesome bar and restraunt.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was average hotel room nothing that stood out. Great fitness room and breakfast was very good. Great location.
- 5/5
Service and staff were friendly courteous and eager to help and answer questions. The property is beautiful and the rooms are elegantly appointed. The meal we had at Tzeva restaurant was disappointing.

Really clean good atmosphere
- 3/5
Extremely loud music late into the weekend evenings was very unrestful.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice furnishings, great stay! Would return again!
- 2/5
The room smelt too perfume and was very cold even after we adjusted the temperature and the bedding was too light weight.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Everyone was really friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful property. The rooms are nice and art everywhere is so cool. Only one improvement would be stronger coffee as it was super weak and bland but expensive!
- 5/5
Great location and nice hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating
- 5/5
The roof top bar and pool provided a great vibe and great drinks!
- 3/5
We had no kleenex, clean towels, coffer or note pads. The furniture was also worn and abused looking.
- 5/5
Mike at the Desk was awesome. Took great care of us the room is beautiful and the rooftop pool deck has a great view!! we will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Every staff member was fiendly and helpful
- 5/5
Room was very nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
The team was perfectly nice, although I felt the valet didn’t want to assist me when I first pulled up. They watched me struggle with my bags and the heavy door. The rooms view was not great. The toilet wouldn’t flush half the time. I had to go back and check it and lift the lid to pull the pump. The water poured onto the bathroom floor. The restaurants were closed for weddings. Not sure if they should have let me book.
- 5/5
The room and service were phenomenal
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel in downtown Sarasota. The entire experience was amazing with comfortable accomodations, beautiful atmosphere, great bar/restaurant and gracious staff. Thank you for such a memorable stay.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Great hotel. Clean, great staff, very accommodating.
- 4/5
Overall, the hotel was nice. We were on the seventh floor. Both on the eighth floor open top pool bar. There is a nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights and the noise is very loud and goes on until later at night. It was hard to sleep when The nightclub was on.
- 5/5
ALL was great other than their pillows (super uncomfortable and flat) & they need to improve on overall appearance of rooms like the bed head board/furniture were damaged and bathroom lighting was terrible! AC were loud and turned off when your sleeping. Highly recommend to turn off the eco-motion sensors for guest comfort with the FL Heat. Overall, The staff are incredible & the service was great.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
weekend fun time up from Venice Florida great spot good ataff
- 5/5
Great hotel with art in the lobby, artists in residence, phenomenal service and located near restaurants and bars.
- 5/5
Very St Armand’s is the best, Michael at the front desk is the best …
- 2/5
The room was very dirty, even the mat at the front at the reception area looked shabby and had dirt spots on it. When I first arrived to the room, upon opening the door, there was a squashed fruit on the floor. They can do a better job of keeping this place clean.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Service was excellent
- 5/5
Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely return.
- 5/5
Staff was super professional and knowledgeable about the area. Super clean and convenience. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops.
- 5/5
Great location and theme. Beautiful artwork and a lively nightclub.
- 5/5
Excellent location and wonderful customer service. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The rooftop pool & lounge had a great vibe with great drinks
- 5/5
We thought the staff was exceptionally friendly and the hotel accommodations, from the shuttle to the chairs and towels for the beach were great. We will return.
- 5/5
Very welcoming staff!
- 5/5
I love this place !
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
There is a destination charge for things we didn’t need as we were only there for one night such as beach chairs, bicycles etc. Beds were good as well as pillows. Bathroom was beautiful! Loved the magnifying mirror.
- 4/5
It was great however the $29 per day destination fee was very expensive being that we did not take advantage of one single thing they included with it
- 5/5
Very clean and very chic. Loved our stay!
- 5/5
It was a great experience and will return. I did find the charge for parking a little high.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Staff and services were exceptional on all levels. Rooftop and lobby bar are great.
- 5/5
Love this place !! Location, sheets, staff, awesome!!!
- 4/5
Hotel is located near the restaurants and shopping. The king bed room was large, including the bathroom. Valet and front desk was friendly and receptive.
- 5/5
It’s a very loud room you can hear when people slam doors you can hear people talking next-door or the TV. Otherwise it’s really nice. It could improve with a few new things.
- 5/5
Everything was really nice and the service was exceptional!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, clean
- 5/5
I loved the art theme.
- 5/5
Breakfast voucher was applied towards purchase. Was misleading that breakfast was included when you purchased the voucher.
- 5/5
This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel.
- 5/5
Upper lounge and pool area. Valet parking with excellent and courteous valets.
- 2/5
My review of 2 stars was not a reflection of the service or the hotel itself. It’s for charging $40 for valet and a $28 host fee. These charges are way too excessive
- 5/5
Great location, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle for local trips which was very nice. I would definitely visit again.
- 5/5
Just an Anazing stay we will return
- 5/5
Everything was great- the frontdesk agent who checked me in was just a doll... There was a tiny delay- maybe bc i booked through a third party, but she couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I wish i had gotten her name. The only issue with my stay was as nice as my room was, the head board was damaged- lots of rips - made it look unsightly. I was surprised to see it in such poor condition
- 5/5
Fair price, exxept resort fee was a bit much without many resort features. Pool? Should be standard. Welcome cocktail not good. Thats it! Maybe the onsite art expo, which was nice to see.
- 5/5
Highly recommended
- 5/5
Liked that it was close to downtown, the rooftop pool, lots of events and live music
- 5/5
It was a great hotel for my business trip, but I didnt have the chance to use most o fhe things included in the destination fee.
- 4/5
In general, almost everything in the hotel was at a decent level, with the exception of the elevators. Only one elevator worked all these days and this wait was very annoying.
- 5/5
Great location and hotel. Very convenient to many restaurants, shops, and theater. Lovely rooftop pool and bar.
- 3/5
Options to park were not offered. Only one elevator the entire stay. Difficulty with pool access due to private events. Very loud music too late into the night.
- 5/5
Bathroom amenities are divine. Walkable distance to all restaurants and cafes. Best location and very clean place to stay with valet parking. We are coming back.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room. Fabulous location! Walkable area. Shuttle was very convenient. Tons of fun in the area.
- 4/5
Elevator only one worked during our stay. Room a/c was noisy.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
Mediterranean food is not to our taste
- 5/5
This modern comfortable hotel is in a sensational setting in a walkable neighborhood with art, performance theatres, restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance.
- 5/5
Excellent overall
- 4/5
Nice hotel, great vibe/concept. Property, especially rooms are tired and could use moderate refresh but it’s a good hotel value and by no means terrible.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Es un hotel maravilloso la atención de el restaurant especial ;atienden con mucha calidez ;dan muchos deceos de quedarse y no irse Gracias
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
In the heart of the performing arts area. Many cafes within a short distance. Comfortable, clean and accommodating.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, great bars and restaurants all around. Very walkable. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
This is a lovely central locations to stay in beautiful Sarasota. Rooms were very nice, clean, well stocked. Valet drivers were very friendly and the food was pleasantly delicious.
- 4/5
As a client of this Airlines for years will suggest that the employs were more focus on the passenger, were the back pags, small bags, must be store, service,...etc and talk less between them
- 3/5
Great stay& sleep but poor service & charged for in room snacks that were not consumed and only after we departed, and after final bills were settled then re raised hours later and not worth the hassle of calling back and wasting time arguing about extra charges for snacks that were clearly not consumed at all. Lesson for those staying, confirm that no items were consumed at checking out and settling bills, otherwise you will be charged. Other guests were raising the same issue at check out as they had been wrongly charged too. Great hotel, location wise (downtown Sarasota) and main reason for staying, the other issue was the pool being out of action, but not informed until checking in despite hotel being aware well in advance of the stay due to NY celebrations and not maintenance, but hotel over priced for the amenities considering even drinking water that was provided was charged (but we never used) in the room, most budget hotels offer this basic item for free. Coffee amenities within reception were empty at 1000am after the morning rush, overall, despite fancy soap in the room, not worth the extra charges and the price tag.
- 3/5
Disappointed-stains on the floors throughout carpets, no where to hang your towels, (bathroom very disappointing), charged for water, charged for the robes, no glasses to drink water in the room. It wasn’t a user friendly room at all.
- 4/5
Great location.
- 5/5
This is a great property to stay. Love the area and the service at the hotel is excellent
- 5/5
An elegant and hip modern hotel, with an upscale vibe, in the center of downtown, and close to everything. The top floor bar offers excellent service and great views of the city.
- 4/5
It’s a clean functional hotel in downtown Sarasota location is good. Roof pool is fine it’s just a shame the reception areas are so soulless . As are the bedrooms just functional but bland and with ugly black bathroom furniture
- 4/5
Otherwise this is a beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Every employee we talked with was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Valet, front desk, wait staff. It’s a beautiful property w art everywhere. Rooftop bar was nice. Just keep in mind you pay w credit card, Apple Pay. You cannot charge to your room.
- 5/5
We travelled with our 5-yo son and he loved the top floor pool. Hotel location is excellent.. We parked over night in a garage crossing the street and did not have to use the expensive valet service.
- 5/5
Perfect situation, facilities, nice stuff, what more..
- 4/5
Lake of services because of hurricane
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, very clean and tidy. The room is excellent, the pool is great. They have a musical atmosphere and it's super relaxing
- 5/5
Wonderful location in neighborhood with restaurants, shops and theatre.a few blocks to the intracoastal and parks.
- 5/5
Very comfortable & excellent service.
- 5/5
Great location within walking distance of many restaurants, art galleries. Free shuttle service. High quality amenities and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Love the hotel, good coffee in room and swimming in the rooftop pool. Nice bar and restaurant. Be prepared to pay $39 to park and a LOT of resort fees though. Check that total before thinking it is a good deal.
- 5/5
Quick stay but worth it
- 5/5
We absolutely loved this hotel and the art! We had no issues during our stay and will be back again. Parking is a little expensive because it’s valet only but there’s public parking around the area.
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 4/5
Very nice
- 2/5
Towels were worn and thinning. Water damage in shower ceiling which was not repaired. Very disappointed in the property as it could have so much to offer!
- 4/5
WE LOVED THE ART
- 5/5
My stay was amazing. They thought of everything. I can’t wait to come back soon. Everything you need will s a walk or short distance away.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Nice vibe. Beach chairs and cooler available for beach day.
- 4/5
Check in was complicated and took too much time. Rooms are very comfortable and clean but no soundproofing as we heard upstairs conversations!
- 5/5
We always like
- 5/5
The hotel staff offer excellent service and assistance with the neighborhood. With restaurants and shops easy walking distance you never need to leave the neighborhood.
- 5/5
Great property
- 4/5
We love the atmosphere of the hotel, staff were very kind, location was fantastic with so many good restaurants around.
- 4/5
Great stay overall. Staff was great and it was convenient to shops and restaurants. The only exceptions were that our water pressure was terrible and our blackout curtain was broken in our room.
- 5/5

Set back in a lovely quiet neighborhood with shops and restaurants within walking distance, this tranquil, cosy spot is within easy reach of St Armand's Circle, a favorite area of shops and restaurants, just across the causeway bridge.

We took a quick 4 day getaway from Miami to Sarasota before the start of school. Pros: location is excellent and very walkable to restaurants, park, ice cream etc. The staff was very friendly and quick to assist. The art around the hotel was a sophisticated touch. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. Cons: we requested connecting rooms and despite confirming ahead of time they were not available when we arrived. We had to spend the first night in different rooms than we booked (2 queens, not king and queen), which were also not connecting. We then moved the second night. While the staff ultimately corrected it and were apologetic, it was inconvenient having to pack up 5 people and move. We were also not offered cocktails at check in (explicitly listed as part of the $200 “destination fee” for our stay) and there was no complimentary waters in our rooms. The mini fridges weren’t working properly.

However, maintenance is needed on the headboards as they are aging and may soon need replacing. Otherwise, I love this hotel.

All was perfect except the main restaurant needs to expand the menu for more food options..

I need to give a shout out to Inkar Zakariadze. She is the assistant Director of the front office. She went above and beyond normal expectations. I hope that the Art Ovation management will recognize her outstanding performance. We have stayed at the Westin, the Hyatt, Embassy suites. And this is by far the best hotel we’ve stayed at. Thank you!
