They never cleaned the room. The only have a small pool. gym is 4 blocks from the hotel. The elevators don’t work. Terrible

The noise outside the hotel was a little much. There was a person on a loud speaker for a few hrs right outside the hotel. I guess there's no noise ordinance out there. The hotel seemed nice but if that person is out there regularly I will avoid this area all together.

Very cute hotel, right in front of the ocean. I would definitely stay here again :) The staff was very helpful and the room was clean. I just wouldn’t order room service again it was almost $100 for two hamburgers with fries, one can of soda and one orange juice. But everything else was great !

Our room was comfortable and well-kept, with a great setup for unwinding after time outside. The space felt thoughtfully designed for a beach getaway, and we especially enjoyed the ocean view balcony and the cleanliness throughout. The bedding and overall room comfort made it easy to fully rest, which mattered a lot for our trip. The location is a major strength. Being in Santa Monica means you’re close to the walkable energy of the area—the beach, Santa Monica Pier, restaurants, and shopping, with everything feeling convenient rather than exhausting. We also appreciated the pool scene and the amenities in general. What stood out most was the service. Whether it was the front desk assistance, housekeeping and concierge-style recommendations, the team consistently came through with a professional, friendly approach.

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Beautiful ocean front view room. clean and modern. Loved the pool and food/service at restaurant was great. Requested a frig and it came up right away. Too many snack/minibar items that were all junk food and took up half the counter lol. We did not partake. Carpet in hall was worn, but was kept clean. Great location.

If I had kids, I would probably avoid this hotel. Hotel was extremely clean, and location is obviously great and is what many are paying for. Con’s were more than I’d like for the price I paid. My biggest issue was the noise level. I stayed on a Saturday night and they had some kind of sponsored event for a tequila brand. This resulted in an EXTREMELY loud pool party, which is in the center of all of the rooms. Even with the sliding door closed, the music and bass was ridiculously loud that I could hear and feel it over the TV. Music went until 10PM. I couldn’t sleep until it was done, couldn’t even imagine if I had kids to put to sleep, no way they could sleep through that. The pool party also left the pool largely unusable for the guests. It was all taken up by their party and influencers taking photos for their brand. They had virtually the entire pool area reserved for this party, so we were barely able to sit at the pool to use what we paid for. Walking through the lobby during this party was packed with drunk people and we could barely get to the elevator. The hotel is nice and would probably be great if you’re young or a big party person, I’d probably avoid it if I had kids or valued a earlier sleep schedule. My experience could be unique, but paying 500 a night to be kept up by them renting out the pool and not even being able to use the pool area comfortably was very frustrating for me.

Hotel is in a great spot, right by the Pier. Pool was really warm, not super refreshing, but the hot tub was nice. Room was great, had a partial ocean view, bed was comfortable. Lots of restaurants around as is the 3rd avenue promenade for shopping.

If you are headed to Santa Monica/LA this is definitely the place to stay. It is reasonably priced, the staff is incredibly friendly, the amenities are so nice, the food at the restaurant is to die for but most importantly everything is CLEAN! It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed at a hotel that hits all of the important factors in a stay. I have absolutely no complaints about the property and my entire stay. I highly recommend and ocean view room, the views are incredible! You almost don’t ever have to leave the hotel! The pool is beautiful, the restaurant is open for all 3 meals, and you have everything you could need. Our stay included access to bikes at no additional cost which was also really cool! Could not recommend this hotel more, you won’t be disappointed!

The Shore is optimally located by the beach in downtown Santa Monica. The rooms and hotel were very clean. My biggest complaints are: no fitness center on site, horrible mattresses (terrible uncomfortable), and reaching my room took getting on two separate elevators - absolutely inconvenient.

Many families were waiting to check-in past their 4pm official check-in time. Especially hard with tired kids. They shouldn’t be short staffed given the amount they are charging per night. Their bathrooms have glass walls with a privacy shade on outside. Great location that can’t be beat though.

It was ok. Staff wasn't very helpful and it says it has a gym, but its not on property. You have to walk 4 blocks to get to it. Restaurant inside so expensive and food wasn't that good. Only thing good was the location. I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was beautiful along with the view! Staff-concierge Adriano was absolutely amazing. He helped get us checked in early, gave us a warm welcome, and truly treated us well during our stay. He even made my sons birthday a little extra special which I appreciate :-)

Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast at Shoreside Restaurant offers delicious food however the service was a little off. First visit, young lady took the order but wasn't informative on how many pancakes come in order or that some orders bring toasts so she charged me for toasts even though the meal came with it. We over order food unecesarily. Second visit we got our coffes first and it got cold after waiting for the food. They were unable to heat it but, didnt offer to give me fresher lates but offered to add hot coffe on top. Room service staff who answers the calls and takes the order also lacks some understanding. Twice they got my order with missing items. Last time I've asked for yogurt and fruits they said they couldn't do it. I went downstairs and the lady got me the order but the yogurt was not fresh. She was also on the cell for a while with my bag on hand until I had to approach her to get the back back to the room. This order with visible non busy night took way over 30 minutes. Other than those annoying issues. The hotel is located on a prime location. The pool is heated. Offers jazz on Thursday nights which i think its super romantic and chic. Hotel is maintained very well, security around and inside. I like that because there is a lot of homeless people hanging out a few meters out.

We loved the room and overall décor, everything felt clean, modern, and well thought out, one tip would be to rent the bikes early in the morning as they go quickly, we were able to ride down to Venice Beach, lock up the bikes, and explore the Venice Canals, the contrast between the two areas is surprising. Venice Beach is a little shady and energetic while the canals are peaceful and quiet, the canals were definitely a highlight and well worth visiting. During our stay we also visited Griffith Observatory and did the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, both were great cant miss experiences. We walked along the Hollywood Walk of Fame and checked out the Chinese Theatre as well, that area had more of a Times Square vibe, very busy, loud, and a bit overwhelming especially if you’re traveling with kids. One thing to keep in mind, Uber rides to those attractions can get expensive from the hotel if you’re not driving, overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend the Shore Hotel for its location, atmosphere, and amenities.

Rooms are nice but small (unnecessary chair that took up space). Not enough seating/lounge chairs in pool area. Staff was nice but not overly so. Great location and nice views. Be aware that on top of the price per night, you will also be charged an extra $50 per day on top of a hefty hold per day.

I reserved the room through Hotels.com. The night we checked in my mother in law had a stroke and we had to leave. Hotels.com sent a waiver to the hotel requesting a refund for us, but the hotel was unwilling to refund any of our money or help us. I actually can't believe this is a four star hotel they were so unhelpful.

This is a very nice hotel right on the Santa Monica beach across the street from the pier. The hotel is spotless. The staff was fantastic. They gave me and my friend a glass of champagne when we checked in . The pools were heated. It was such. Dreamy place to stay.

Don’t stay at this hotel. They didn’t clean our room for 3 days even when we asked multiple times. There was no hair dryer, robe, slippers, shower cap, anything beside soap and shampoo, although this is advertised as a 4 stars hotel. Stay away. Bad service, old building, old rooms. Coffee maker didn’t work.

There wasn’t enough storage space for clothing for example there was no dresser. However, the location was amazing. It was across the street from the Grove, which had everything from shopping movie theater, restaurants, and it was in an area that is very walkable.

Had a great stay with beautiful sunset views. Great staff! Enjoyed 1/2 day LA tour which picked up right at the Shore hotel. Enjoyed drives on the coast with easy access, to all sites, aside from normal LA traffic.

My stay at the shore hotel was almost perfect. I had ordered a room with the ocean view the room that I received had a partial ocean view. We had a room with two double beds. One of the beds was horrible. Should’ve been replaced a long time ago . That being said the hotel itself and the staff were amazing. The food the food was verygood and presented well.

The Shore was amazing when it first opened, it has seen better days and is in dire need of some level of renovation. At that price point, everything should be outstanding. Also charging $60/night for forced valet parking when the hotel also offers $10/day beach parking for anyone is absolutely infuriating.

Stayed at the Shore Hotel in 2 rooms: Oceanview King and a "garden" view double for the kids. Your cookie-cutter run of the mill rooms without any frills - paper coffee cups and plastic glasses for your beverages! Nice lobby where we were served welcome drink (in plastic glasses) that consisted of sparkling wine for adults and apple cider for the children. We needed to be near the pier and thus this hotel which was adequate for one night stay to attend the Thai Festival on the Santa Monica pier. Basically awesome location and great views if you get oceanview room. Pleasant staff especially Mr. Adriano the Concierge. The 2 front elevators were inoperable during our first evening/night - had to go to the back building (garden wing) to take their elevator, and then backtrack to the front - but we survived as they were working the next morning. Daily weekend valet parking rate is $30/night ai without in/out privileges - this is a great deal for this area. For the right rate, I'd stay again when in town. But if luxury and room amenities matter to you, I'd look elsewhere.

This place is spendy, but it didn't disappoint. Location and view were great. We didn't eat at the hotel because their were other restaurants we wanted to visit (Cafe Gratitude in Venice being one), but the bar and restaurant seemed like a great place to hang out. On the downside...it's noisy! Loud music and street noise. We didn't mind.

hotel was just ok, bar downstairs ran out if various alcoholic beverages , swimming pool area overcrowded, when i politely asked if i could lay on a daybed not in use....the reply was NO you need to hire them, it was standing room only, if you have a late flight and have checked out nowhere to shower after a swim, disappointing for the price you pay per night

Enjoyed the hotel proximity to many restaurants, the beach and pier. It was clean and accommodating and friendly. The only issue was the entree approach for dine-in guests - meaning a soda refill costed the same as the first pour! Just petty for such a low cost item and nowhere else we went did this.

We only stayed for the night but they made the stay a good one. Room: we had a king suite with pull out couch. We had no issues , view was fantastic, rooms were clean and no issues with AC(we actually got cold!) Location: fabulous. Literally right across from the pier. Walking distance to everything. The free bikes worked out well for my kids and I. Food: I ordered the fruit platter and toast, both were great.

On Saturday afternoon and evening the pool area turned into a night club. Complete with stage, DJ and 200-300 people (not hotel guests). We were unable to use the pool, and would have to fight a huge crowd to use our bar credits. Couldn’t rest in our room due to noise and certainly couldn’t sit on your balcony and enjoy your view. Was told the party would be over at 8 pm so the kids had hopes to finally enjoy the pool but music didn’t turn off until after 9 and party goers still had the pool completely taken over until after pool closed. Staff was very understanding and obviously these events are not in their control.

Dining experience was acceptable. Locations was pretty decent but how do you only have one elevator operational and no stairs access except for emergencies.

One of the biggest perks was the location. The hotel is basically 100 feet from the pier, so it was incredibly convenient to walk over any time of day or night and spend time there. There are also plenty of great restaurants and really nice shops within walking distance. The staff was accommodating and friendly at all times, especially Tony, who helped us with our luggage when we were checking out—he was fantastic. We also loved the hotel restaurant. We ate breakfast there every morning, and the food was delicious. We had dinner there once as well, which was excellent, though a bit pricey—but that’s to be expected with a high-class hotel like this. The pool and hot tub were lovely, with lots of chaise loungers to relax on. The only downside was the elevator. There’s only one elevator in the entire hotel, so we often waited five minutes (sometimes more), and it got pretty congested. Not a big deal though, just a minor inconvenience. Overall, this was a great value pick, and I would absolutely stay here again. I highly recommend it if you’re planning a trip to Santa Monica, California.

Outstanding service and staff at the Shore. Best location on the pier. Great room, balcony, heated pool, concierge was the best part of our trip. He went out of his way to get to know me and my two sons. He did everything he could to make our trip the best and we won’t forget the service. Easy call to stay here again next time.

I stayed here for 2 nights for business, but mixed in some pleasure. I brought my 10 yr old son along. I’ve always had a wonderful experience at this hotel in prior visits. This was my first underwhelming experience. There have been some renovations that were nice and I would have taken advantage of on an adult trip (bar/restaurant). Service was fairly non-existent. Location is fabulous! Walk out the front door and you’re in the heart of downtown, steps away from dining, shopping, beach, and the pier!

Excellent location, luxury at it’s finest.

Also great for families, but just know that, for some of the rooms at least, one of the shower walls is a window. So it’s cool if you want to watch your really hot girlfriend take a shower, you can do so from the comfort of your bed. Or if you want to shower while looking out into the ocean view, it’s cool. But if you are staying with your family or friends, the window does have an automatic shade that rolls down.

Very nice property, great location, staff and great beds. This is not a family friendly property. The a/c was subpar and struggled to keep the room cool. We had to open the balcony door every night to cool down. This made it hard to sleep with the noise below. The biggest issue we had was the lack of amenities like a refrigerator or an in-house convenience store. We ended up buying a hard sided cooler for drinks and snacks. Not ideal but it worked. The $60 nightly rate for parking was outrageous but we found local overnight parking with in walking distance that was half the price of the hotel.

Best hotel ever

Good and bad. The location was the reason for booking, it is outstanding. The convenience of a car rental desk within the property is very nice and the Sixt staff was friendly. Onsite food is very expensive but it was delicious and good room service. The negatives, the beds and pillows were terribly uncomfortable, sheets were pilling, and the one request I made in advanced to have rooms close to another party member was not met. I appreciated the friendly service from waiters, housekeepers and car rental staff and loved the location but the beds will prevent me from returning. I am a very frequent traveler and they were sadly bottom tier.

Would never book here again. After checking out I was charged with a $250 fee (which was never discussed at check in). When I called hotel to check on charge they were basically nonchalant and didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. I felt like it was a scam because none of those charges were informed to me at checkin but when I called to check charges they said “oh it’s on our website” basically $150 cleaning pet fee which I never heard any other hotel doing.. which again wasn’t informed about this charge but they insisted it was on the paper I signed. And then $50 for parking (which is so ridiculous because I’m literally staying at this hotel) and $50 for resort fee, which I understand ( but then Again wasn’t informed at check in either. Last but not least they had balconies but totally useless as they threatened us to charge $500 if we even smoked on the balcony. All in all this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my entire existence and after I notified hotel on everything nothing was done customer satisfaction. They care only about your $ and that’s it!!! Worst hotel experience ever!

Great location, bicycle hire included was a nice surprise... cycled to Venice Beach on a beautiful sunny day. Small hotel pool but great for an early morning stretch and dip in the Jacuzzi. Helpful Concierge and parking team..our stay here was two night stopover of road trip from San Francisco via Santa Cruz and Carmel by the Sea...en route to Las Vegas.

Hotel was located in a great area close to the beach, pier, shops and restaurants. Staff (especially Michael) were very helpful and made check-in easy as well as parking for hire car.

Our stay was terrific! We had a four-night stay for a family trip. The lobby and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is "fantastic" which includes being walking distance from shopping, restaurants and beach. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub daily. We would highly recommend Shore Hotel!

Beautiful, clean and the best smelling lobby ever. The desk staff (especially Shaun) were pleasant and friendly. Super helpful. Cleaning staff does a great job and also very friendly. The hotel is centrally located and right across from the beach. Easy to walk the city. Pool & Hot Tub looked great, but we hit the cold spell. Restaurant is just a room with tables and a bar that isn't finished yet. It's odd, they go elsewhere to get the food and bring it to the room with the tables. We did have room service breakfast and while expensive, it was very good. They have a mini-bar set up in the room - it's mini bar prices and expensive - but it's something. No room to put other items in the fridge. Also, they were doing construction in the garden area, which was a shame, it looks nice on line. Rooms are minimalistic at best, but clean and comfortable. Lobby has strange, very low seating. Free coffee in lobby and in room (Nespresso) and free water with recyclable cups available all day. Free water, juice or champagne when you arrive. Hotel prides themselves on being green and they do a good job. Know up front there is a daily hotel destination fee of $40, a 15% fee city occupancy tax ($6) and a Hotel Destination fee - CTA fee of .08 cents. So you re paying an additional $46.08 per day to stay there. If you get a room with a sunset view, it's beautiful. Overall, we'll stay again for the convenience, the people and the sunset.

The staff was great! The hotel is very clean. The amenities are nice. The convenience to the pier is great. It’s a great option to stay in Santa Monica and be able to easily get to and around the LA sites. Would love to stay again if we are in the area.

Then I wasn’t really asked how anything was when checking out so I couldn’t really address it with the venue. Also I was charged twice for a pre authorisation which I do get back but it’s frustrating too

Great location, modern lobby and good size room. “Valet parking” is a bit costly and signage is not very clear as you still have to drive your own vehicle down to the lower floor before valet parks for you. We also had some issues with exiting as the machine would not accept our room key.

Lived the heated pool and jacuzzi. liked the balcony in room. See through dhoeer was strange but I was alone. Modern furnishings.
