Sea Shore Motel

From check-in to check out we were very happy with this stay. Very helpful at check-in for what was around and also personally showed us to the room. The room was awesome and was a great choice for our 2 day stay. They also have beach items to use as the walk to the beach is 5 minutes or so. The deck overlooking the busy street was actually nice for juice and coffee in the mornings. We will stay here again when we return to LA for events, or just going to the beach!

What a great motel, so clean and accommodating to all our needs. The location was perfect for access to Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. The best part was the hotel mascot Akiera. She made our day!

Very close to the beach, shops, restaurants, and was clean. Had an old school vibe with great character.

We didn’t stay long. It was only for a nights sleep, but both interactions with checking in and checking out were easy and the two guys were friendly. Great location. It’s right on one of the main strips so if you need quiet at night, do not stay here. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking was very snug but safe.

Lovely staff. We got a roomy 1 bedroom apartment and felt very safe and comfortable. Walking distance to everywhere.

The staff was so wonderful! Very quaint and charming property with amazing parking. Super close to the beach and they provide beach equipment you can borrow. My group and I had a great time staying here for our spring break!

For the price paid it was a very nice hotel. It is very dated and the A/C unit was loud. We were on the first floor and it was surprisingly quiet. The bed was very comfortable but the pillow cases were old and yellowed. We had our own pillows so it was fine. The sheets were clean but not soft. It was a nice location and close walk to the beach and about 20 minutes to the Santa Monica pier. I would stay there again but hope they do some minor upgrades.

Reasonably priced motel right in the middle of the nicest part of Santa Monica (Main Street) and near the beach. Very large rooms and friendly front desk.

Uniquely styled motel. Desk staff helpful and welcoming and efficient (what more could u ask for?). Parking ample and safe. Room spacious and decorated with care. Bed comfortable and slept like a rock. Walls sort of thin but expected. With the location right on a main artery…it’s Great bang for your buck . 5 solid stars.

Well-located motel, about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a coffee shop next door, which has delicious pastries and a variety of coffees, teas, and other beverages. Our room was lovely: comfortable and clean, with comfortable beds. There are a number of restaurants on Main Street that are within walking distance of the motel as well. We would recommend this motel and would definitely stay here again.

The room was terribly dated actually the whole property is dated, it is definitely a MOTEL, however it was okay for a shower and laying our heads, we didn’t spent much time in the room or at least we tried our hardest not to spend time in the room as it wasn’t too comfortable it was small and I had to carry the microwave from the office to the room. We stayed due to the room had already been prepaid for the 3 nights we were in town for. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend.

Loved the location on Main Street. One of very few properties to have convenient free parking behind the two story motel. Loved having the quick entry and exit that comes with smaller motels and close parking. Lots of food choices surrounding area. The rooms are retro so a bit dated but clean and I personally love that basic retro vibe. We asked for a coffee maker and it was provided so that was a bonus (there are kitchenette rooms available) There was a refrigerator in the room as well. Sounds like they were still working out the kinks with their VIP status as we didn't receive the bottle of wine or beer as the VIP designation through Expedia. When asked about it the following day we did receive a bottle of sparking water. We did not require housekeeping during our day so can not comment on that. There is an air conditioner available. Wi-Fi included too. Overall I would stay again. Great Santa Monica area motel.

We had a great experience here from start to finish. It’s in the heart of the area. You could easily stay here for a weekend and not need your car the whole time. The pastry place attached the building is wonderful too. Also, I didn’t notice until we were checking out that they have a library and other items you might want to borrow for your stay in the office.. like, a tea kettle. They also provide towels and other beach supplies there.

The Sea Shore Motel is simple and clean in the perfect location. A block from the beach and my favorite beachside café, Perry’s. At the corner of the motel is an amazing bakery with out of this world croissants and other breakfast treats. Don’t expect anything fancy, but if you want to be in a fantastic neighborhood, away from the tourism of SantaMonica, this is a great place to land.

The location of it was perfect! Only 3/4 blocks away from the beach walking distance. They also offered things for the beach as well which is a plus! Our room was clean and luckily we were able to get early check in as well so that was a plus! I’d stay here again for the location and price! Definitely recommend :)

Could use breakfast as there are not a ton of affordable options in the immediate area. If traveling with a family this area gets expensive quick. The area is awesome. Walk or quick drive to some awesome places. I will for sure return to this hotel.

Great location just a couple of blocks from the beach, 15 minute walk to SM pier. Good looking set-up for this family run place, so on reception was very friendly, room was excellent with all we needed, quiet at night. Back in England now, wish I was there again!

I loved this place! Fabulous old-style motel, right down to the real room keys. Your kids won't even know what these are! Room was large and comfortable; same for the bed and the bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly, offering me a microwave, beach chairs, beach towels. Plenty of parking. Terrific location, two blocks from beach and half block from great Irish pub / restaurant. With the fridge and microwave, table and chairs, and large closet, a couple could easily enjoy an extended stay here. I wish I went to Santa Monica more often so I could stay at the Sea Shore Motel!

Fun neighborhood, lots of places to eat and close to the beach. The office had beach toys and was very accommodating. The room was large, had a fridge and microwave. Air conditioning worked well and the room was cleaned every day. It was great to have free parking.

This is a hidden gem just minutes away from the Venice beach with free parking and spacious and clean room! Owner Tom super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! Very close to all the surf schools.

Comfortable and convenient - great stay

Loved the man at check in and his dog. The place is kind of retro and cute. Having parking was absolutely key for me. The noise from upstairs was annoying and Saturday night the noise on the street was quite loud.

We had a great time at Sea Shore Motel. It’s clean and quiet in a friendly neighbourhood. We had ample room for a family of four (with 2 teenagers). The free parking is a definite bonus and there is a fabulous bakery right on the corner of the property. Walk to the sea front is 10 minutes and 20 minutes to the iconic Santa Monica pier. We were able to borrow beach chairs and towels. The motel staff are very efficient and friendly.

Our two night stay at the Sea Shore Motel was perfect for our family of five. Our room had a bedroom, a pullout couch and a full kitchen and was very clean. The property is in within walking distance to Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier as well as many restaurants and shops.

The location is perfect, quick 5 minute walk to the beach. Air conditioner worked great, no problem there. The parking is excellent, convenient, and very safe. The only problem we had was with the WI-FI , no signal, and the outlets wouldn't work, the only one that charged our phones was the outlet in the bathroom, the girls had to go upstairs on the balcony to get some signal, other than that, the motel is very decent.

The motel is within walking distance of the beach. Although the building is older, it has been nicely renovated and felt very secure. I felt completely safe during my stay—the rooms were quiet, and we were not disturbed by our neighbors. I especially enjoyed the spacious room, which included a bath, two queen beds, an armoire with a television, a dining table, and a refrigerator. The manager was very accommodating and even provided a microwave upon request, which made our stay feel even more comfortable. I also noticed extensive security camera coverage throughout the property. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend the Seashore Motel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Santa Monica.

We enjoyed our stay here; this super cute, quaint motel is right in the middle of everything. ( piers and beaches)They even let you use chairs and boogie boards at no cost. There's a wonderful bakery next door, Bread and Butter, that we went to daily. Would definitely stay here again. Traveled with my two girls 11 and 13.

Had an awesome experience staying at this location. We were able to have free parking for our rental and walk to everything in Santa Monica and Venice beach. A 5 min walk to the beach. Rooms were comfortable and front desk was kind and accommodating when we left something after checkout. Will stay here again our next trip to CA

My daughter and I visted for her birthday and it was a fun trip. Its actually a great little spot. Can be noisy with the "frat" like parties across the street, but the noise did not bother us however it did give us some great entertainment.

We were able to upgrade to a bigger suite for a small fee and were blown away by how spacious the small apartment was: a bedroom with 2 queen beds, full kitchen, dining room, and living room with a massive sectional sleeper sofa, and a lovely, peaceful patio. High ceilings made it feel even bigger. Staff was super friendly and had boogie boards, beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas on hand to lend. Just a couple blocks to a great beach and all kinds of food and entertainment.

This is a great motel in a very convenient spot if traveling to Santa Monica. It is old, and you can tell that, but it is well maintained and almost nostalgic in appearance. Nestled into a “nook” on Main Street makes this a perfect place if you are just stopping for a night, or staying for a few. The location is close to a few good eateries, right next to a coffee shop, and just a few blocks to the beach. The pier is also a short walk away. Rooms were clean; the age show here as there is a general musty smell, not dirty, just reminded me of a “vintage” closet. We had a suite, it was perfect for us - traveling with two teenage boys this allowed for one to have a pull out couch rather than stuffing them both into a shared queen. The kitchen was stocked with adequate supplies to include a full coffee pot, though that was on its last leg because the burner was literally burnt to a crisp and flaking off (definitely needs to be swapped out). Pillows and towels is where this place falls short. If you like a fluffy pillow and a fluffy towel this is not your motel. The pillows are flat foam rubber, which is extremely uncomfortable. Towels and washcloths are very thin, but still did the job. Overall, this is about a two star motel, but convenience, location, overall cleanliness, and nostalgic charm gives it at a 4-star on hotels.com. I would 100% stay here again without a doubt, and definitely recommend it for anyone traveling through the area.

Simple motel, safe and clean, family owned

Great 1960’s SoCal beachy motel. All the necessary amenities. Very clean. New, double-glazed windows kept the room quiet. Very affordable. Close, delicious food of all kinds.

This place is so shabby and not worth the price. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

So close to the beach and less than 10 minute walk to Santa Monica Pier. The location is accessible to everything, fast food, gourmet food and goodies. There is activity outside until in the early am, since it’s a popular spot to hang out, but safe.

Highly recommended Sea Shore. Great value for money. Room fully updated.

Here for just a brief stay for AIDS Lifecycle but glad we found this amazing little place! Very cool beach vibe just outside of old downtown, very walkable and an incredible bakery in front. Will come back!

This place was just okay.

Nice room perfect location

This is an older motel with older furnishings, but charming and clean. The beds were comfortable, and the linens and whole place smelled fresh and clean. We stayed in a one bedroom, and our 22 year old son slept on a pull-out couch in the living room, which worked fine other than morning light coming in the living room window. Our unit had a kitchen, which we didn't really need for this visit. I noticed it wasn't well supplied (in terms of dishes) for extensive cooking during a long stay, fyi. Our unit also had a nice deck, and we loved the flowers along the walkway to our unit. It turns out we didn't need the free parking, but that is a very nice perk. Great location for our needs and we appreciated the friendly reception!

Friendly staff provides beach towels and chairs when you walk to beautiful Santa Monica beach. Room is really clean and cozy. Classic style motel. Delicious all-vegan restaurants or vegan options within walking distance. THE BEST vegan donuts I've ever had at Holey Grail just down the street.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

1- FREE on-site parking (up to 80$ at other properties in the area per day on top of the room rates). 2- AMAZING location! Beach is 10 min by foot, 5 min drive or on bike. Property is surrounded by restaurants and other stores. There’s a great cafe on location for your morning coffee fix (a lot of locals were seen here too). On Sunday, I got to see the farmers market right across from the motel. 10 min drive to Venice beach! The staff here was very friendly. They treated me with respect and kindness. Whenever I visit LA again, this is where I will stay. Highly recommended!

This is a great little motel. Apollo Bay is a cool spot. Many dining options within walking distance of the motel. Good value for money. I recommend staying at the Sea Shore, have fun.

The location can’t be beat! I was able to walk the few blocks to the beach first thing each morning. So many coffee and breakfast places so close. Walked to Venice beach in no time one day and the next day walked to Santa Monica Pier. I was able to get to everywhere I wanted to go easily. Plus, it was easier than I thought it would be to drive to Berely Hills and the Lakers game. The staff was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely be staying at the Sea Shore again when I visit LA!

Great place to stay. Has all the amenities of home. Walkable once you get there to mainly stores and restaurants and the beach.

The beds are hard and rather uncomfortable and there is no means in the room to make a hot drink which was the first in our month long trip. A bit shabby too, so expensive for the standard provided.

It’s old but clean, typical California hotel near the beach parking was a bit tight. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Well located neat and tidy motel in Santa Monica, two blocks back from the beach, close to loads of restaurants and cafes etc. Rooms could do with a bit more supply of plates / cutlery / coffee & tea etc.

We had a very late check in but someone was there when we arrived. Room was clean and large with all necessary amenities. Even beach towels when we needed them.

The motel staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming, and so willing help out with things that will make our stay better--offering a microwave or coffeemaker, or tableware. We much appreciated this.

It’s adorable and affordable. It matches the pictures. We booked a suite over a week for myself and my adult daughter. It was perfect size of a one bedroom apartment, functional kitchen and great open space with lots of sunlight. It’s walkable to restaurants, boutique shops and the beach.

Nothing special. But everything you need for a night or two near the beach. Plenty of parking, which is a plus. Room lacked sound insulation so the big snorer next door seemed to be in my room. Staff friendly and helpful.

We had a full suite with a kitchen- very spacious and great location, so there price was unbeatable for that. The staff were friendly, and it was nice to be able to use the beach toys.

The best thing about this place is the location. Literally minutes to the beach and a central hub for entertainment. They provided lounge chairs and beach towels at no extra charge. Easy to access LA downtown and Hollywood by car. The motel itself is no frills and needs updating. We had no microwave or coffee maker in the room. It was cleanish. Really could have used a good scrub down. Bed was comfortable and lots of pillows provided. Good if you're looking for a cheap room that you’re not spending a ton of time in.
