Also room light was pretty dark. The layout was nice and location was great for walking around downtown Santa Fe. Pizza was also great in the hotel restaurant.

Only a block away from the plaza and all the shops and restaurants. Loved the atmosphere as well. The room we had, had a balcony which was nice. The room was very comfortable. Only downside was that we had a room when you opened your door there was a steep staircase to the top, it was fine for me but a little hard for my 80 year old mom. I also didn't mind paying for the underground parking, if you've been by the plaza parking is hard to come by.

Property was well maintained right in the heart of downtown

The hotel was amazing and the staff was incredible. They’re communication with some of the best ever. We will definitely stay here again!

The room looked nothing like what was shown on the site. The lights barely worked. The a/c didn’t work at all. There is no elevator access to upper floors, only the parking garage. The floor tiles were cracked, the grouting was falling apart. The bathroom was tiny, no lights, can’t even see to do makeup. The street noise below was so loud for hours into the night. Would never go back again!

Loved the location, water pressure and ambience.

Beware that you will be charged $30 a day to park. If there is no room in the lot you’re out of luck. I was excited to stay in the beautiful historic hotel from the pictures. Over all rating is a 2. Don’t waist your money.

The hotel staff at Chimayo are amazing! Everyone is friendly and helpful and we were greeted with daily smiles and conversation. The location couldn’t be more perfect as you’re in the heart of the best of Santa Fe. We were able to walk to everything. Our room and the grounds felt authentic to a Spanish hacienda but our room was a little dark from bad lighting and dirty windows. They really need to clean the windows so the light can get in. The place could also use a coat of paint. Otherwise it was great and I would definitely stay at Chimayo again.

The location is the only reason to stay at this location. The property, although had some charm, was mediocre. The temperature control stated it could not be changed, and to ask the front desk for a fan if too warm. Well, that is exactly what happened, and we needed to place a loud noisy fan in the window to draw in the cool night air to stay even close to comfortable. (This is not the kind of experience I was hoping for paying the price we paid). The water in the shower was hot at times, warm at times. There were not extra's like kleenex/tissue paper (the little things that make a stay nice). The man who checked us in was really nice and helpful, but the women who worked at the front desk in the morning did the bare minimum and were not very welcoming. If I were to return to Santa Fe, I would certainly look to try a different experience.

Because I booked through expedia they refused to cancel my stay. It cost me over $500 because of expedia refusing to cancel the stay. Thanks expedia never book with them.

The location was perfect, free covered parking, two restaurants, brick courtyards with potted plants and flowers, and the room was spacious and comfortable! Loved it!

This is an old, unique hotel full of soul. If you want fancy go somewhere else.

I liked that it was close to many things to see and it houses two good restaurants. I didn't like going to the parking garage to get ice, nor could I find an ice bucket. I didn't like sharing a balcony w/ another room. How about a divider for some privacy? We walked outside to the balcony in the morning to have coffee and there was another couple sitting there in their bath robes. Awkward at best. Please provide a light switch to turn off the balcony lights at night. Those lights shined into our bedroom all night, not an ideal situation.

Nice location but difficult access to 2nd floor rooms especially with suitcases. Not an impressive property especially for the price

The staff at the front desk during the day were very helpful and on top of things; the evening we checked in, the guy was less than stellar. The facilities felt "dated" though clean and adequate. The cost seemed a bit out of line for "adequate". El Rincon, the restaurant attached, was excellent.

There was nothing to dislike it was clean and well maintained the staff was friendly and professional.
