Drift Inn

Good place to stay, and not too far of a walk to the boardwalk. The only "complaint" I have is that it costs .25 cents if you want ice. The staff was very nice when I arrived and the room was a good size room also. I would stay there again.

Very nice staff I will say but I can’t lie whatever you paid for the room (especially during peak season) it should probably be less. The room was pretty tore up and the tv didn’t even have a remote. The shower drain cover was falling off and a lot of the furniture was ripped. The floors felt kinda greasy and grimy and the towels were super thin. But at least the sheets were clean, bed was comfy, easy parking, & they don’t price gouge as much as some of these other spots. Walking distance to boardwalk!

The location is also excellent the boardwalk and downtown area are only about 10–15 minutes walk away. Would recommend!

When we first pulled up we were a little concerned because it looks a little outdated but we were so relieved when we saw how clean it was inside and no carpet was a huge plus ! I would definitely come back

The room was clean and comfortable; check-in was a breeze. The Drift Inn is located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Downtown Santa Cruz, and the Riverwalk. My only negative is that the towels were a little threadbare.

Easy close parking, good price, quiet, clean, friendly staff, no frills motel. No breakfast, no coffee but fridge and microwave.

Missing a light bulb on the desk. Floors without rugs need to be mopped.

Excellent place to stay!!

My mate and I weren't really impressed. She was kind of grossed out. The floor was sticky when we arrived. We stayed two nights. I was okay with it, she hardly tolerated it.

First of all the receptionist Ankit is amazing and quite personable! Was able to check in a little early before check in time and got a room upgrade with a separate kitchen and balcony. Room was super clean and location was close to amenities. Will definitely be back!

Parking is easy, and the location is convenient to the boardwalk, beach, and downtown areas.

I guess that it’ll suffice if all you do is sleep in the room & keep your belongings in there. The bathroom was updated & modern but the bedroom wasn’t it. In addition, one of the laps in the bedroom didn’t work, one of the outlet plates by one of the lamps was loose. And the TV only had one working channel which I tried changing manually since the remote didn’t work & well, channels got stuck on a non-working channel, so I decided to give up & turn it off! Lol

We had an amazing stay! Ankit at the front desk was extremely helpful and hospitable when we booked our hotel visit last minute. I would definitely recommend this inn for anyone looking for a cozy and conveniently located place to stay in downtown Santa Cruz.

The picture in the ads included an outdoor table and chairs which were not there on the night I stayed there. I chose this motel particularly to be able to sit outside. Disappointing.

but, i've stayed here before, but this time i noticed hairs in my sheets - apparently, the maid didn't bother to change the sheets between guests. kinda gross. that's a deal breaker for me, i won't be back.

Parking was easy. The boardwalk and downtown was a short walk from the hotel which was great as we didn't need to drive everywhere. The person at the front desk was very friendly and immediately have us a room with 2 queen beds when requested.

Little parking, no hair dryer, had to pay for ice.

Room was clean area was quiet . It was within walking distance from the boardwalk.

The manager was very friendly and great customer service. We got a very spacious room. Right when you walked in there is bed and the next room was a bed and both queens beds and it can with a small fridge and freezer and microwave. The bathroom was pretty cool and the hotel was worth the price. I also need additional room so to my family member wanted to stay the night and instead of sharing beds they hotel manager gave as other room for a cheaper prices of $79 and that room was in its own little area and had like a little kitchen with a microwave and small fridge with a freezer. The bathroom was pretty big too and the shower was amazing

Short walk to beach.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Drift Inn. Because the price was so low and it was so conveniently located, I was expecting certain "downside" stuff when I got there. But it really was a good hotel. The check in was seamless and the customer service was quite pleasant and friendly. The room was big. It had a kitchen, in addition to the regular hotel room. There was also a front and a back balcony. It was very conveniently located, walking distance to the boardwalk and to downtown Santa Cruz, while also having plenty of parking. It was clean and I had no issues with the other customers.

I found the staff very friendly

The room was clean and near all the fun spots in Santa Cruz. Downtown shops restaurants and bar were all with in walking distance. To me that’s 30 mins. There was also a little kitchen area that had the microwave and refrigerator separate from the room with the two beds. The man doing our check in was training and did a great job helping me check in. I would highly recommend the Drift Inn. And would definitely book there again!

This hotel was clean. There is a kitchenette that has a refrigerator and microwave. Our kitchenette was a little run down with missing cabinet handles. It appears they are fixing up the rooms. Which I think will add great value.

Horrible hotel, never staying there again.

The rooms are extremely clean and the staff is friendly. We enjoyed being within a short walk of both downtown and the boardwalk. This is a great place to stay if you would like to park your car and leave it while you explore town.

Older remodeled hotel, excellent staff, really close to Boardwalk. Allowed to park for free morning of check in day, plus was able to check into rooms by noon not 3.

Exceptional customer service from the front desk clerk, he was very friendly and helpful. He welcomed me like I came home. Very nice personality.

I liked that it was walking distance from the boardwalk and customer service was good what I didn’t like was the room where a little older needed upgrade

There was no staff 24 hours. I tried to complain about the cockroaches in my room that ended up in my food but the front desk was locked and no way to reach out to staff

I had an issue with my reservation that could not be solved when fully booked. The Manager arranged for my stay at a separate motel. This solution was fair and reasonable. Based on this integrity alone, I would recommend the Drift Inn.

The front Desk agent was very helpful. He gave me a free room upgrade and allowed me to check in early. He was also kind enough to let us park our car after checkout while we hung out at the boardwalk. Our room was very clean and check out was simple.

Property needs maintenance. TV didn’t work, lamp missing lightbulbs. Shower pressure not good. Smoke detector missing.

Customer service is amazing which is hard to find now days.
