Wonderful stay. Love the pool which is situated facing beach with stairs onto beach from pool deck. Wharf for dinner and boardwalk are easy walk from hotel.

There was no hot water for the shower and the room service took twice the time they said. Beautiful view of the ocean from our room though. The hotel is nice but is pretty bare bones with the amenities. Plan on using valet isles you want to drag all your stuff across the street to the parking lot.

1st..all rooms have a balcony view...with glass fencing. The food is good...the location is THE best in Santa Cruz!

Such a wonderful property. Our oceanfront rooms were spectacular. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the front desk staff and the valet staff.

Great location and good for family. They had beach volleyball balls for the kids to check out to play. The pool looked cleaned but some construction was on site. We enjoyed our stay. The view was so nice and relaxing. Wished we stayed longer than two days.

Had a room on 10th floor so view was awesome. Hotel is in good location right beside the main beach and pier in Santa Cruz. Room was well sized, had a table and some seating which was a nice addition to a standard hotel room. Room doors didn't seem to shut properly by themselves so the tension on the auto-close was dialed up to the MAX... you spend your night/morning hearing doors on surrounding rooms slamming shut as a result. Sliding doors to balcony were of very poor quality so any/all noise from outside was audible. Sea is loud but this is bearable (maybe even pleasant for some) but noise from machinery working on the beach and the other guests enjoying the hotel made this quite unpleasant. It was end of school term and the hotel seemed to have some large groups having parties (not sure they stayed at hotel), net result was 30 screaming kids in the hot tub sized for 16 ppl from 4pm til 10pm. In combo with sliding door situation this was an irritation.

Ocean right there…very well kept. Pool right there…decorated and looking all fancy with plenty of boujee chairs. Also! They have a MaryAnne’s ice cream in the pool area!!!! Amazing. Lovely walking path along the Ocean/WestCliff (all the way to Natural Bridges!). Perfect for Sunset! Easy walk to the downtown area of Santa Cruz…even easier walk to the Wharf and Boardwalk! Parking was fine for us, but I imagine that could become an issue as the season kicks up.

The beach view was beautiful. And the pool/hot tub area was very kid and adult friendly.

The only thing we disliked was that the air conditioner was very loud. Hotel has free valet parking which was a nice surprise. We enjoyed the restaurant with ocean view and our room was also ocean view.

Beautiful Beach front property steps from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and the Wharf! Rooms were exceptionally clean and room was beach front with a balcony. At night there were lounge chairs and firepits to relax at. We spent 2 nights and just hearing the waves hitting the beach was awesome! Great place to relax, rewind, or even head to the boardwalk for fun for adults and kids! Would recommend adults time only or familys with kids.

Gorgeous view from the balcony, highly recommend the cloud rooms. Lovely stay, helpful staff. Getting from hotel down to the beach in a wheelchair requires a bit of a maze but it is doable and the staff knew how to direct me through that maze without having to look it up which is always nice from an accessibility training standpoint.

The beach view from our room on the 8th floor was amazing. So nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. Definitely coming back.

Staying at the Dream Inn was a dream. My room was on the second floor with a phenomenal beach view overlooking the ocean, wharf, and boardwalk. Woke up each morning to the sound of crashing waves on the shore. Everything is in walking distance. Parking is available in a designated lot across the street that can be accessed with your room key. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The only minor negative is that the walls are a bit thin and my room was right by the elevators, so you could hear the occasional noise and chatter. But overall it was a great experience and will definitely stay at the Dream Inn on my next trip to Santa Cruz!

The location is perfect directly on the beach is the best. The hotels esthetic is beautiful. The onsite restaurant-Jack O’Neill’s is delicious and so is the little coffee shop. Friendly staff . Clean property. Love staying in the vaulted ceiling room!

Stayed at the Dream Inn for Mother's Day weekend and this place never disappoints. The location is perfect, staff is pleasant, woke up to a "Happy Mother's Day" sign written in the sand. Room service is good and reasonably priced.

Excellent stay although we had to leave a day early due to a family emergency.. I was hoping for some credit maybe but that never happened. Just an unfortunate situation for us.

We were traveling with a 3 month old for our anniversary. They made several accommodations for us. They gave us early check-in and late checkout. They brought treats and champagne for us complimentary to the room. Valet and bellhop staff was amazing. The only let down was the check-in staff. They didn’t make us feel welcome or bother explaining anything about the property or the amenities. I think check-in staff can improve experience by being more warm and welcoming.

We were allowed to check in early since our room was ready. The staff were very considerate. Kids enjoyed the stream near the shore. There were a lot of shower areas where you could wash your feet before you go back to your room. The location was perfect, walking distance to the braodway.

I mean I've paid a lot less for a more updated luxury rooms. It's clean, but so outdated hardly worth the price. I would reasonably pay $200 but not $500. If we hadn't needed to be on property for a wedding we would have stayed some place half the price and perhaps I would have slept - my body hurts from the rock hard mattress.

Was perfect for us since I could sit on the patio and watch the kids in the pool or beach and work a bit from our balcony. Great food delivered from attached restaurant, Jack O’Neils.

Shower and bathroom was a little aged but other than that, everything was great. Would be a great improvement if floors were hardwood with replaceable area rugs. Carpet never feels clean in any hotel.

We went out and ate locally at restaurants but the hotel was overall pleasant. It has a very nice view of the ocean! If you’re 6’ or taller you might hit the shower head but otherwise quite good! I would go there again. 🙂

Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was extremely crowded however it was Spring Break for a lot of people. We love how everything we needed was within walking distance.

Dreams Inn is a cute hotel right on the beach. Our room was right over the pool & we worried it would be loud but it wasn’t. The room was clean & comfy with a cute retro vibe. Great location for walking to the boardwalk & many restaurants & cafes

The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the Boardwalk, wharf, and beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a dog-friendly room, so we got to bring our fur babies. The pool and beach access are great, and they have umbrellas and chairs you can borrow if you are going to another great (dog) beach. Lots of food options are close by, and DoorDash is an easy pick up at front desk. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Favorite place to stay!! Absolutely stunning ocean views

One of our families favorite places to stay. Really can't say enough good things about this place The only criticism I have is the way they describe their rooms is kind of a bait and switch when you are reserving. For example during reservation you check out with a room described as the tower which by any practical description would indicate that you are going to be up in the tower. You don't really find out that the base level of this tower is also considered the tower. And it's also quite insincere due to the fact that apparently there's three levels of reservation in the tower. So if you're not aware of this when you are reserving your room you may end up on the bottom floor with some obstacles blocking your view. I really wish they would do a better job labeling the rooms so is not to become miffed that you're actually on the lobby floor as opposed to up in the tower.

Only complaint would be you get charged a service fee and tax on EVERYTHING! We called the front desk for towels and again for more TP and got charged $5.80 each time. Overall, you can’t beat the location! It’s perfect!!!

AC is very loud. Staff would not accommodate either early check in nor late checkout. The room bathroom tile had missing sections of grout.

The room was not ready at 4 PM for check-in, so we had to wait for 30 minutes. strange and bizarre. no one seemed to care.

Perfect location right on the sand in Santa Cruz! Could watch the waves and the surfers from the room and activity on the pier. Room was a good size. Enjoyed the convenience of the coffee cart in the lobby and the food and views at Jack O’neills were excellent!

The room view was great , the bed was comfortable, the check in experience a 10/10. However there were some irritations the shower had no water pressure, the room was freezing and called the front desk and they said someone would be out no one ever came. The clock in the room was set an hour ahead then actual time. Which when I woke for coffee thinking it was 7 and their coffee area opened at 0630 I walked out and it was only 0600!

We were able to check in hours early which was awesome. The room was great, the view was terrific. Loved the pool area.

From check in, valet is convenient. Very fast check in, they even check us in 30 min early. An upgrade to the highest floor facing the ocean view.. and what is the most unforgettable moment was when the staff surprised me with a in room fruit platter, big bottle of water with some birthday cupcake and a card hand written from staff. What a great touch for my birthday. Thank you Dream Inn I really had a great time.

The room was comfortable, but needs remodeling. We got a room in front of the elevator and it was quite noisy. Their restaurant has nice views of the ocean and good cocktails.

Rooms are very old and dated. Bathroom was terrible. Non shower tub and bathroom looked like some communal gym shower place rather than a 4 star hotel. Front desk staff was cold and unwelcoming. Additionally they made me wait for over 10 minutes when checking in since the staff couldn’t find the reservation through Expedia.

The best thing about this property is its prime location right on the beachfront. The views are wonderful. You can walk along the cliffs or down onto the wharf and enjoy all that Santa Cruz has to offer as a beach town. They have updated the property so it has a retro modern feeling, which is done well and cute.

The room and hotel were great, the valet however was completely unacceptable. They left my keys in the car and my car was left unlocked. My car was parked two spots in from the street, anyone could have gotten to it. The response from staff was unacceptable.

Beautiful sunrises! Sound of ocean waves, not cars. Could walk to Natural Bridges and center of town.

Only negative call out was the bed being too firm to get a restful night sleep. My husband and I woke up earlier than usual because our backs couldn’t take the firmness anymore.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was clean but needed some updates. Some of the shutters were broken at some point and screwed shut so they could no longer open, the lights in the bathroom kept going out, and the tile floors were very slippery in the bathroom and shower. The view, especially during sunset and sunrise, was beautiful! The AC got super cold in the room, which we love!

It was beautiful view on 5th floor. U could heard ocean all night with amazing bed. Stuff was friendly and everything was 5 star. From room to all facility. Parking is not free, u have to pay for parking but next to Ocean and with amazing price it was one of kind moments.

Balcony view was amazing during the day, we had clear view of the ocean, except that swiming pool lights in the night were on your face depending on your room was not a great experiance, THAT SHOULD CHNAGE in swimming pool, secondly, they advertise as breakfast avaible but in reality not included in the room booking price we only learnt in the morning and was a surprise, third, the front desk experiance was not welcoming for me, they just checked in and provided no info about anything we just fogured pur way to our room and the thing about vallet parking i had check with fromt deak before giving the keys, the vallet guys shoudl aleeady know based on booking last names etc, over the property location is great if they can fix above issues, probably visit again !!!

I have stayed at the Dream Inn for 25 years or more. You just can’t beat the ocean views. overall our stay was good.

You go for the view as it’s truly special, rooms did not align to a 4 star hotel as there are worn bathrooms and peeling wallpaper. The coffee cart offers great options for purchase and the restaurant was good. The front desk did not feel very informed ( gave us incorrect directions to our room twice and outdated information on website specific to available activities)

Love this property is on the beach. Full view of the ocean with no obstructions. Great pool and spa. Hate that check in is at 4 and check out is 11. You don’t even get 24 hours on the property. They were able to check us in a bit early. And when we asked for a late check out, they said no you have to be out by 11 and they were very rude about it.

Our room was very old and in need of repair and replacement, i.e. torn carpeting and spotted upholstered furniture. I did not care for the shower head. We enjoyed the beach view and the staff was very accommodating. The first room we were given had a very strong and unpleasant odor and we requested to be moved. The VIP room we were given was next to the restaurant and not worthy of a VIP room price that we paid. We ate at the Jack O'Neill Restaurant at the property and had a wonderful breakfast on Thursday and a horrible breakfast on Saturday, and we ordered the same meal both times.

We love Dream Inn. This was our 5th visit. We love the view and the excellent service. That being said, the bathrooms are in great need of renovating. This is a great location, but it only rates as a 3 star hotel.

Great location in the rejuvenated Santa Cruz Boardwalk area. Among the the best beaches and easy walk to West Cliffs. Hear the sea lions bark and fog horn honk at night. Hotel faces the ocean to the east for a unique West Coast sunrise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the dream Inn! The location is perfect for both beach and shopping access. It was great to be right on the beach and steps from the wharf. Our room was spacious and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was wonderful as was the hot tub. The hotel also has great dining options while at the pool or in the hotel. We would love to return and stay here again.

The place is out dated and not 4 stars. It’s a nice 2 stars the only reason the call it 4 is because of the location. The place is so loud. I was charged for the cloud king on the upper floor and all I heard was doors slamming. Every night and every morning. The maids don’t just keep the maid room open instead they let door just slam over and over again as they go in 100s of times every morning. Not relaxing. A rip off for sure. There is a gap at the bottom of the doors. You hear everything. The only reason this place is rated well is because everything else is a terrible n sc. so they get away with bad 4 star.

Location is great; however, the room was not clean when we checked in (poop stains in the toilet). Some staff were great while others were mid at best. Saturday morning, there were no pool/beach towels available and had to wait at least 15 minutes for someone to help with checking out beach chairs. When checking out, the valet did not bring us the correct car. When he finally brought out car after waiting 15-20 minutes, he didn't help load our bags. We were also overcharged for parking- had to speak with multiple staff members to get it rectified. Probably won't go back.

Clean room amazing beach view. Location is great right next to the pier which has nice stores and can see the see lions interacting. I already stayed at this hotel twice and will make this my favorite place in Santa Cruz

A great property, right on the beach, decent pool-could have been warmer, staff was great. The rooms absolutely need a little updating and love, otherwise we had fun!

The view makes this hotel worth visiting but the surrounding area is not the best part of Santa Cruz. Cool to be right on the beach though and amazing to watch your teenage kids surf in the sea from your balcony! Bathrooms very basic but clean towels and linen. Valet staff super friendly and helpful.

Over priced. Very expensive per night but objectively does not meet that quality. Being on the beach, you pick this hotel for location but it became easily evident that that wasn’t required, especially at the price point. The rooms were not clean, very dated, and not properly maintained. Even to the point of dangerous for some potential patrons.

If you get there at check in time , it's very hard to park with valet there's limited space...so keep that in mind. It's a big place in a great location overlooking the water, you can hear the waves crashing, that was wonderful, but you also hear everybody else. It's very loud and family friendly. So there's lots of children running around. Having a balcony is really, really nice. But the doors shutting in other rooms shakes your wall.

Ive stayed here many times over the years, and it just doesn't have the same mystical feeling about it.

Room was great, spacious, clean and loved our ocean view. Bed and pillows comfortable. Staff was nice, kind, welcoming and helpful.

Best hotel in Santa Cruz! Walking distance to the wharf and the boardwalk! Best of all, all rooms have an ocean view! We always crack the patio door at night and sleep to the sound of the sea!

Dream Inn has been perfect for our quick get aways. The location on the beach is awesome! Awesome service by the reservations staff and front desk. Parking fee is a bit steep though.

The location and views are great. However, the room needs lots of updates, specially in the bathroom ( grout on the floor/corners coming apart, gray/black grout in the bathroom, scratches and wholes in the cabinets). It was also very noisy, you could hear everything from the rooms next to us and people walking in the hallways. The pool was nice but needs a good clean. There is a lot of buildup around the pool, specially in the jacuzzi. We didn’t stay long. The worst part was the hostess at the restaurant. She was very rude and condescending. Even though the restaurant had many open seats, she asked if we would leave by 11am “because a lot of people like to camp out and stay long.” What kind of welcome is that?! Food was ok, but we didn’t return during our stay. Overall great location, but the amenities and our room need updates to be at the high-end level that is advertised as.

I loved the ocean view and the heated pool. The pool music was a little loud as I could hear it from my room.

we have been coming to the Dream Inn for over 6 years. The room was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable and our room was on the corner just above the pool in the tower, The light shined in the room all night long and we could hear the elevator. I don't normally complain but I paid a lot of money for the room as well as upgraded the room when they are all the same. There were not extra amenities added to the room and we had to pay.

This is my favorite hotel in Santa Cruz because it's right on the beach, the pool area has an awesome bar and jacuzzi, and the employees are all so friendly. This time my husband and I brought the kids and the looks on the kids' faces when they saw the view out the balcony of the room was priceless!

All around I had a great stay.

Great location with stunning views out to sea. Nice room and comfy bed. Bathroom facilities were good. Overall cost (room/drinks/food) was pricey so not great value-for-money but a nice hotel if you’re not tied to a budget.

Perfect in every way! My room had a dazzling view of the bay. You couldn't ask for a better location for all the local attractions. What i appreciated most: their commitment to the environment. On your nightstand is a statement regarding their efforts to eliminate single use plastic. I will certainly be back!

Air conditioning/heater did not work. People screaming and dog barking for 30 mins on beach ouyside of our balcony room at 3 am. Parking for one vehicle $40 per day. Restaurant and bar not in hotel, instead seperate building (sortof attched), but a long walk for those with mobility problems.

Amazing place to stay! Resort style with all the amenities. Worth every penny! Definitely visiting again. Thanks Dream Inn!

Whenever we are in Santa Cruz, this is our favorite place to stay. The staff is helpful and nice. The pool area is amazing. The food is great.

I loved the surf vibe theme, Eco-friendliness, bright, cheerful colors of the room and hotel, and of course, every room has a view of the ocean and pool!

This is my go to hotel when I come to Santa Cruz. It is perfect for decompressing and relaxing.

Woke up to construction being done at 848 am in the next room. We just left. What good would complaining do? It already woke us up.

I've lived in Santa Cruz for a long time and never had the "tourist" experience, but THIS is the way to do it. I felt fully transported. I brought my mom for a little local mother's day getaway surprise, she loved it and so did I.

Loved the pool, hot tub, ocean view and the staff were exceptional!

Our trip was wonderful! We loved the beachfront location—so convenient and close to everything. The kids had an amazing time in the pool and jacuzzi and were in the water almost every day, rain or shine. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Right on the ocean

Pool and hot tub were hard to access as it’s rather small for the amount of rooms there. All chairs and loungers were claimed by 9:00 am. We ended up using the pool and hot tub from 9:15-10:00 pm since that was really the only time it wasn’t super crowded.

I liked it was right on the beach.
