I stay at this property once a week for work, and I refuse to stay anywhere else. They have consistent clean beds and rooms. No complaints here.

Then they have 2 hotels. Check in at one and then cross the busy street to get to the other side. Room was clean. But super basic. Keurig in the room with 2 sugar packets. Just two. The lamps also didn’t work. We had to plug in our charger on the alarm clock. Which was basically a never charging dock. We tried calling the office and no answer. The guy had check in was friendly though.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Good little spot to staff for a weekend trip. Location is within reasonable walking distant to good and the boardwalk.

Double extra charge for pet. It's bad enough at $50 extra, but a 50% tax on our dog made us pay $76.38 for a little dog. Booking .com did not tell us that this place charges so much for a pet. They say they are pet friendly but with this extra charge especially since the tax is higher for the dog then they charge us this is a rip off, sorry to say. BEWARE, and I will not say I told you so, I just let you know now. We use Booking.com all the time; four times in the last five days and this was very disappointing. The evening Mgr is not so honest

What we liked about the room was the room size, the amenities in the room were also good with a coffee maker, fridge and nice king size bed. What we didn't like about the room and a little disappointing was the stomping noise from the floor above and you can really hear the water run loudly.

Clean, well located and safe. Very good value for the area and a last minute booking. I would stay there again. I had difficulty booking on their own website which had a cheaper rate so I had to use Expedia instead. The only confusing thing potentially is that there is one hotel on the east side or ocean and another hotel on the west side. Luckily we were assigned a room on the hotel side that was within walking distance to the registration desk. Parking and wifi are free, but there is no free breakfast.

Easy access off of the main road. Nearby a few restaurants. Good sized room. We had a corner end room. So it had a big bay window to look outside. I have no complaints

Parking is super tight if you get one of the king annex rooms which are in the building across from the office.

We liked the location, the room was pleasant, and we like the old fashioned shower that was easy to work. There was at least one outlet that didn't work, and the property appeared old and in need of maintenance.

I was in Santa Cruz for a meeting and decide to stay at Continental Inn and in the middle of the night start a people fighting, I called the front desk to see if they can help taking care of the issue and the person in charge was unable to handle the situation he did not call the police. He refused to do it and I just couldn’t sleep all night long because of the noise of these people fighting until 5 o’clock in the morning the worst night I could ever have. I know there are situations that the hotels can avoid but I think they should have a procedure of how to handle situations like that. I used to work for a hotels for 15 years and we do have a procedure how to deal with this situations apparently continental inn don’t have any.

Very nice room, polite staff however was given little info about things like wifi password, Didnt have complimentary breakfast as far as i know like most hotels do and that was a let down. When I asked about coffee they just said theres a chevron next door.

What’s the pint of trying to get some rest if location constantly is making noise. Horrible experience, glad I was there just for the night. Not going back

Room was clean. Bed was pretty awful and pillows were torture. Parking was difficult for sure and it was awkward walking across a busy street to get to room.

I guess for the price it’s ok. It’s old, and rusty. The bathroom lights were flickering like in the horror movies. I slept with one eye open. Microwave worked but the light didn’t. The bedding was clean though, but walls and doors was old and rusty and light fixture were old too. Random people knocking in the middle of the night. Not enough parking and parking was tight. Hot tub in weird corner of the parking lot.

Everything was good, the parking was very convenient and my stay was pleasant.

I always stay here whenever I go Santa Cruz it’s very convenient and plus I like the rooms separated by a small kitchen and toilet in between queen size bed each person has it’s own privacy

Lot light and good working heater. Missing small table to put staff , staff very professional and helpful.

The room was clean and cat friendly. The Chinese restaurant across the street was delicious. I’ll try the Thai spot across the street next time. The front desk agent was courteous and professional. I’d definitely stay again!

The traffic noise was a bit loud and the walls are a little thin, but I had my noise machine so it was fine haha. Overall I’d stay there again :)

I regularly go to Santa Cruz for business trips & this is my favorite place to stay. Safe, centrally located, and super friendly staff. The rooms are always clean, beds cozy, and they don't skimp on quality of towels, shampoo, etc. :)

The room had an odor. The covers were itchy.. very nice people which was the upside, but they need to get better laundry supplies. The room was clean.

Apparently the customers on our side are never told about the facilities across the street. Nor is there any indication that these properties are connected. Cleaning service was very good.

Girl at the counter was very nice and helped us With directions on finding a place to eat did not like being charged for parking.

All of the pillows were like flat rocks and it was incredibly loud (poorly insulated) so we didn’t get any sleep. The air conditioning unit was filthy so we were all coughing and congested every night and morning as well. The walls and doors had obviously never been wiped down, there was hair and what looked liked boogers all over them. The ironing board looked like it came from a dump site, absolutely disgusting. The elevator was filthy as well, it looked like there was blood splatter on the inside of the door. You couldn’t pay me to come back here.

Payed 359 for a one night stay, pricey for the experience and no breakfast the building is on both sides of a busy Main Street one side has the pool and the other side has the jacuzzi very inconvenient having to run across the street with lil ones the pool looks like no maintenance super small lots of leafs floating and on the bottom water super cold so we went back to the other side of the street jacuzzi was ok till we got in we where in a jacuzzi full of chlorine so strong I got super sick kids eyes where super red then the room smelt like rotten egg coming out of bathroom then a big black spider right on the headboard

Our stay was last minute arrangement. Hotel was clean. Street was loud, didnt notice the complementary ear plugs until check out. Hot tub was a residential size and uncomfortably secluded. Pool was unmentionable.

The cleanliness was fine, the front office staff was great. We were upstairs facing the gas station, on a Sunday night. It was loud outside, at night people were coming and going. Just people closing their doors reverberates a lot. We woke up several times. It is cheaper than our preferred hotel so next time we will save up.

I found mold spores throughout room and bathroom. I didn’t notice it right away, in fact not until the next day sadly. The AC unit smelled like mold which sent me into a panic the next morning as my husband has asthma. I started looking around to find black mold forming on the walls and around the door. When we woke after sleeping in the room both my husband and I didn’t feel good. The room was moist, stuffy and smelled like mold. My husband and I both were congested, puffy eyes and my husband felt his breathing was restricted. After notifying the front desk as well as showed the lady pictures, she apologized, hoped we would feel better and handed me a receipt. Even after this horrible stay we are not being refunded at all. I would not recommend staying at Continental Inn.

Check in was easy. Service was terrible, locks on the doors are trash. Some guy tried to get in our room at 2 in the morning. Luckily I was awake still and stopped them. Very weird spot, wouldn’t recommend even for the cheaper price.

The property is okay it’s not horrible I just noticed that the room is not as clean as it should be. A lot of splatters on the walls and dirty hand prints on the walls. Our room also smelled really bad because of the bathroom like sewage.

This review is solely for the room. The room is outdated with some of the fixtures showing signs of rust. The floors really needed to be mopped and the lamps were so dusty.

The room was clean and comfy. We stayed 2 nights. Easy to check in and out. The pool situation was a little weird as its across the street. It was nice and private. It could use a good scrubbing though. I'd stay there again.

We just needed a basic motel for an overnight stay, and the Continental Inn exceeded our expectations, given how reasonable the cost was. The room had been recently repainted, and was very clean. It was quite well designed, and the bed was comfortable (although we'd have loved four pillows instead of three). The layout of the hotel is a little strange, with rooms on two separate lots across a very busy road from each other, with the pool on one side and a hot tub on the other. Overall, though, this is an excellent choice for a budget-conscious traveler who doesn't want to pay for extra ambience.

It was very close to the boardwalk area. There was food options in walking distance. The pool was small. Parking was not always available in the same lot as the room. The shampoo was half full upon check in.

If you are going ti visit Santa Cruz this is your best bet. The rooms are clean the staff is helpful and the price is always good, higher on the weekends during summer but never overpriced like most other hotels in the area.

I reallly appreciated their williness to accomodate me--I needed early check-in and they were very responsive. The place is centrally locate, clean and no issues with parking. The manager was extermely nice. Made my stay for my nephew's graduation very pleasent.

The hotel was very good overall and appreciated the helpful staff upon arrival. The room and furnishings were very clean and well-appointed. The location was great for our needs and made commutes very easy. I would stay at this hotel again!

Me and my friend stayed only for 2 nights, it was super duper chill. If you not gonna be in the hotel a lot, and just using for sleeping and showering I would book. Cheap hotel, good vibes and nice place. Would reccomend to stay, they chill ash. Hot tub is nice and pool lowkey fun!

Reservation for 4 persons but the lady gave us a very small room with 1 double bed. It even looked like a twin bed to me. You have to cross the road to get to the other building. Maybe the lady didn't pay attention the details of my reservation. I complained and the relief staff gave me the right room.

The customer service was great, the room was slightly dated and our TV did not really work. The hot tub is older, looks like it could use a good scrub and the pool was closed. But for the price - you get what you pay for. About a 10 minute walk to the beach, and there are so many restaurants walking distance. We just wanted a place to sleep and shower.

The walls are thin as paper just fyi, and the smell of mary jane lingers (it's typical for santa cruz). For a quick one night stay it was fine, because it wasn't super packed. Would I come back? Most likely no lol.

This was a totally OK place. The staff was really nice and had our check-in streamlined. The area felt only semi-safe – there was a man yelling at us from the parking lot of the hotel. And my room’s heating unit did not turn on, and the rooms and bathrooms needed a bit of renovation. My blue recycle receptacle was cracked and slightly chipped, and this is a perfect metaphor for the room itself: No deal breakers, nothing huge was wrong, just don’t know that I’d stay here again.

The employee was very nice and helpful. But I would of like a complementary breakfast. Even if it was coffee and Danish and a piece of fruit.
