Reviews
The hotel has a great location, close to the beach and various attractions. However, cleanliness and maintenance are major issues, with several guests reporting dirty rooms, broken fixtures, and poor parking facilities.
- Great location
- Friendly staff
- Dirty rooms
- Poor maintenance and upkeep
- 5/5
Excellent staff!! Very nice and pleasant!! Helpful and knowledgeable and answered questions well.
- 4/5
Over all GREAT location. Super close to pretty much everything. If you need a place to sleep/ park Shower and hold your cold breverages this is it. Your a 4 mins walk to the boardwalk and 4- 6 min walk to in town breakfast spots. For the price you can beat it if your not looking to spend your vacation in your room lol. Who is? Very strick on 3 pm check in. So get there at 2:55 and park and wait at the door! Enjoy!
- 4/5
nice and clean. close to the ocean. m
- 5/5
Nice size room easy parking great location
- 5/5
Its close to everything. I love their family suite above the office
- 4/5
Very pet friendly!
- 5/5
I like the hotel and the room was clean. The hotel was close to the beach and everything! I don't mind staying there again. It was perfect!
- 1/5
We were very disappointed! The towels are old & toilet doesn’t flush.
- 3/5
Está limpio, solo que ya está algo viejo, ya sus instalaciones están deterioradas! La atención al cliente fue buena, pero tiene muchos detalles todavía
- 5/5
Nice. Clean. In and out. Parking was a little tight though.
- 4/5
It was cleaner than I expected for an older Motel. The desk Manager was excellent and very accommodating. I would stay here again when visiting Santa Cruz.
- 2/5
Overall, we would not come back to stay here.
- 3/5
It's good for a night stay but there is holes and stains on walls and bathroom was not the best maintenanced. Also I notice if they see I booked via Expedia and not directly we don't get a good room.
- 3/5
Room was used for it’s purpose… to sleep… and shower… shower was too small
- 5/5
Staff was so helpful and welcoming. Not currently doing early check in but they allow free parking the day off, if you arrive early. An easy 5 minute walk to the beach. Room was clean and came with all amenities besides an iron. Plenty of restaurants within a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. AC worked amazing. Will be returning.
- 1/5
Run down, office did not open until 3 pm, very late after a long trip
- 3/5
Friendly staff, however the room was below our standards. The first room was very outdated and poorly kept, but we were able to get into a more updated and cleaner room. My understanding is that the king rooms are more newly renovated.
- 5/5
Nice quite and clean rooms
- 5/5
Check in starts precisely at 3, the door to the lobby is locked until then. No bathroom in lobby. Sheets were nice and clean and smelled like bleach.
- 5/5
A great spot to book, in walking distance to the pier and beach. We ate at an Italian restaurant Iveta and it was so good, pretty well right next to the hotel. Across the street is a coffee shop and we grabbed food in the morning. The room is spacious and clean. For the price you can’t go wrong!!
- 3/5
I was disappointed that we had no parking it was first come first served. It was clean but they need to clean behind furniture.
- 4/5
It's clean but some of the electrical outlets look rough, like theve been replaced and the job wasn't the best.
- 4/5
The staff is really awesome, they made it a great stay on a busy holiday weekend. Location is a walkable trip to the boardwalk but if you have little ones who tire, bring a wagon. Thank you!
- 4/5
good location and clean
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful front desk staff.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed.
- 3/5
Found a roach in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Close to the board walk and pier. Good price.
- 1.5/5
The location The wifi was a very weak connection. The pool was closed due to a non-existent up. The rooms didn't have landlines to communicate with the front desk. Most of all, weekend parking was very challenging. The t.v.'s were a bit outdated.
- 3/5
The room was adequate but would not stay there again. It’s impossible to reach the property by phone as its an automated system. We had to check out a day early and there was nobody working the front desk in the morning. Hotels .com could never reach anyone by phone to have our last night taken off like the motel said they would.
- 2.5/5
Location Pool closed and they did not give me information on my security deposit as to when I’ll get refunded because I booked through booking.com
- 5/5
Clean Nothing
- 2/5
The main downside was that the walls were pretty thin, and there was a generator outside that made noise throughout the night, which made it hard to sleep at times. Overall, decent stay for the location and convenience, but light sleepers may want to keep the noise in mind.
- 5/5
Great little place within walking distance of the Boardwalk and food places. Really an ideal location if you have Littles! Downside - the pool was out of order while we were there. Otherwise budget, friendly, and simple.
- 4/5
Front desk office always locked and he’s to get ahold of any one.
- 1.5/5
Good location Tv wouldn’t work the first night but the guy couldn’t fix it. It was supposed to be fixed the next morning but it wasn’t. I had to go get someone again. The shower faucet handle broke off when I tried to turn in the shower. Not enough parking spots.
- 3.5/5
No smoking
- 5/5
Been staying at the Bay Front Inn for a long, long, long long long time I love the place Nothing
- 5/5
Toilet seat was very loose. Coffee wasn’t very good. Staff was nice and the room is conveniently located. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Our stay was horrible!!! Reading reviews prior to our stay we knew it wouldn’t be anything fancy and that was okay but never felt would be as awful as it was. Bed sheets/towels were clean at least but rest was dirty. Bathroom lights only two out of three with covers, no place to hang towel that you could reach when getting out of shower. But the very worst part is our vehicle blocked so had to walk or pay for ride to get anywhere. There were people parking where not designated parking spot. Those parking there were told by office they could park there.l Lastly bad enough that room was lit up all night like day time even with a single black out curtain that barely covered the window with broken window molding adding to lack of sleep do to out of control loud noise level from others on property into the early hours of the next days.None of this was able to be handled due to limited office hours and for fear of retaliation, if we spoke to those causing the issues. When we did speak to someone who blocked in our car, they got really upset with us and told us that management told them they could park there..
- 5/5
the quiet hours that everyone respected. I got some sleep! Leaking shower. bathroom shower a tad small.
- 4/5
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice enough, if a little dated. The parking was first come first serve so get there early if you want a space.
- 5/5
THE PROPERTY WAS VERY PET FRIENDLY. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND WELCOMING. WILL RETURN BECAUSE OF THE COMFORT
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean, we love that it’s pet friendly. Very quiet, convenient spot. We’ve stayed here many times and will many more
- 4/5
Front lobby was locked until 3pm with no chance of early check in. People standing out front obviously upset about no access to lobby until 3:00.
- 4/5
I wasn’t happy with the parking, one space per room. But. Who monitors this? My friend parked in the lot while I parked on the street at a meter, extra fee or you can find a local lot, also would be an extra fee.
- 3.5/5
No parking
- 5/5
Air conditioning
- 4/5
Parking is extremely limited. The TV didnt work so the office fixed it. The coffee pot didnt work so they gave me another.
- 2/5
There was not enough Parking. Bathrooms was not clean also really small. Had a smell to it . In the shower was missing tiles
- 0.5/5
Close to the wharf Could not reach anyone on the phone text or email. Went to the facility early &the guy was on his personal phone. He said to come back at 2 o’clock, If I want early check-in, I went back at 2 o’clock, and the new person on duty looked homeless, clothes filthy, door was locked ignored me, said no check in til 3 even though they had available rooms and offered early check In. During non-check-in times, you couldn’t even get help. No one was at the desk. Closed Room was not clean. Dirt, belongings in drawer. Dirt in fridge and on floor. Ac sounded like someone was drilling.
- 4/5
Muy bien
- 4/5
I didn’t like the shower floor, it was too rough
- 1/5
I stood here a couple of times but the last visit. The manager kicked me out for no reason.Whatsoever, they locked me out of my room and i had sleep in my car and when I had a check out , I spoke with the girl at the front desk and they apologized , but the manager had an issue with me being there for no reason at all
- 1/5
Just stay away from it
- 0.5/5
We were expected to have local phones to contact the inkeeper and had trouble checking in. We had originally reserved a room with a kitchenette and when we changed dates we were switched to a double queen without a note that warned us of the downgrade. When we checked out the next day, we were still charged for 3 nights.
- 5/5
Location, location and location. A little dated and worn, but clean.
- 5/5
Excellent location, walking distance to the boardwalk and free parking.
- 5/5
Wasn't expecting much but was still very impressed. Awesome location, everything was clean, and the vibes were very chill Couldn't ask for much other than that.
- 2/5
Very pet friendly. Heater and A/C worked. Rooms were not very good. Gap in between door and doorframe. The people next door had to slam their door so it would shut properly which was annoying in the middle of the night. Very thin walls. No sitting area in the room. Parking was very limited. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Good coffee and comfortable bed.
- 3.5/5
Location was excellent for east access to the beach and boardwalk. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Price is excellent. Room was a little cramped. 1 bed was pushed against the AC.
- 5/5
Great spot for my family and our fur baby. We love the boardwalk and the hotel was perfect for our family vacay.
- 5/5
Great place to stay for my son and I. Thanks
- 2/5
This place needs to be completely renovated
- 1.5/5
Close to attractions Most important was the lack of parking. They overbook parking spaces and if you get there late and all spaces are taken, you have to park on the street and go out before 8 am to put money in the meter or risk geting a ticket. Neither the hotel or the roooms looked like the pictures. Was old and needed paint. Vanity in bathroom needed to be replaced or painted. The mattress dipped in the middle and the pillows were hard as rocks. I had to roll up my down jacket to use as a pillow.
- 4/5
I thought it could be a little cleaner it said non-smoking, but there was smoking right outside the door
- 5/5
I'm a long time repeat customer. The rooms are sizeable, comfortable & clean. I love they have a Keurig like coffee maker in the room. The overall quality keeps me coming back. There was a big dog (with a big bark) in the room nextdoor that barked occasionally.
- 4.5/5
Parking situation sucked. It should be assigned. I don't mind paying a nightly rate for the spot assigned to the room.
- 3/5
Location is great for walkability-- less than 10 minutes to either the beach or to downtown. Room was very bare-bones and cleanliness was lacking. We wore socks in the room, as laminate flooring felt like it had a film on it. Two bath towels had long hair strands on them, another had a dirt mark. We appreciated the mini fridge, microwave, and updated bathroom finishes, but wish the bathroom vanity was better maintained (dusty in corners & crevices). Simple additions that would improve the stay would be a chair in the room and an additional mirror outside of the bathroom space. We forgot our home pillows-- these were about the size of a throw pillow. But again, the location was good!
- 1/5
I would say that the clerk taking us in when we checked in, was very lackadaisical, nonchalant, and did not offer any kind of explanation about anything. I would say that the walls are very thin and the refrigerator was loud and it’s running. There was exposed piping for the sink and the flooring was uneven so I cut my foot. We ended up leaving early because the bed had bugs in it. I asked the front desk to rectify the situation and it just felt like they were less than accommodating so we ended up leaving an entire day early. The staff was unprofessional. I asked to see if we can get a refund on our stay and they said probably not but didn’t offer any other information. I would never stay here again.
- 3/5
We knew this was not a five-star hotel, so our expectations were aligned with that. Overall, the stay was acceptable. That said, there are several small maintenance issues that, if addressed, could significantly improve the guest experience. For example, a worn-out door lock, a dripping shower, and curtains that don’t fully close. Nothing major, but these details do impact the overall impression.
- 4/5
Clean room no frills, quiet; great location, bang for buck
- 2/5
The price was good but when my wife and I got to our room the first thing she noticed was clumps of hair on the floor of the bathroom and it the sewage odor coming from somewhere also. I only noticed the remote for the tv was sticky but other than those three things it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever seen, I’d give this property another chance
- 5/5
It’s a bit of a seedy neighborhood.
- 5/5
Great accomodations
- 4/5
The hotel was clean. It was at a great location. The staff was wonderful. It is very dog friendly and does not smell like dogs at all. The pool is not heated and the two disappointment of the whole place was that it is very difficult to find parking, you might even have to park across the street after 8 PM but other than that this place was great.
- 5/5
Place was perfect because it’s close to downtown and the pier but the only issues is the bathroom drainage smelled so bad like sewer smelled, and it seems the more we used the worse the smell got
- 2/5
Bug in bed, never brought us fresh bedding, went to office to get fresh towels- they only had one, bath didn’t drain and hope place smelled like sewage. It’s too bad because it’s was an affordable price during Spring Break and walking distance to Ocean Ave But, unfortunately we’d skip it for next time.
- 5/5
Very spacious and clean rooms especially when accommodating family with children
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful location was primo
- 1/5
Big warning! When we checked in, we were told by the front desk lady to make sure we were back in our rooms before dark because of all the homeless in the area. She also told us that we would probably get cat called too, but just to keep walking if that happens so that was the first big warning we just thought the place was outdated, but it's actually not very safe. We heard a lot of banging on the walls about 2 AM and we heard the police come to the hotel and tried to dissolve the issue. The people were arguing, very loud, yelling, at the police.. we went to do an early checkout since we were not going to stay a second night in this place and the lady at the front desk said she could not authorize a refund for the second night that I would have to contact Expedia. Well, Expedia was no help at all and would not give a refund for the second night that we requested. You can't even talk to anybody you have to do a live chat. I do not recommend this hotel and I actually do not recommend a Expedia anymore.
- 5/5
Room was adequately furnished and very comfortable. Pillows too puffy!
- 4/5
The property was pet friendly and close access to the ward and boardwalk. Nice little place to stay
- 3/5
Check in was easy, plenty of parking, pool was open. The shower flooded the entire bathroom no matter how I positioned the head. I had to lay down towels to soak up the water.
- 4/5
The air condition is strong and the parking is safe. Quite close to the shopping center downtown and walking to the beach area.
- 5/5
Lots of flies in the room. Couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Other than that, everything was fine.
- 3/5
The parking was good right outside your room. The air conditioning worked well. The room was clean but needed maintenance, the shower dripped constantly so a towel was needed on the floor due to wetness, and other minor issues. But overall it was fine. Pool area looked nice but did not use. Outside area is well maintained.
- 4/5
It was cheap and close to beach. Plus. Plus.
- 5/5
Yes it was pet friendly
- 5/5
We were unexpectedly delayed in checking in. I phoned the property and received a prompt text message back letting me know that they had received my detailed voicemail and provided me with very helpful guidance on how to receive my key after hours.
- 4/5
Close to beach and boardwalk
- 3/5
Half remodel half updated rooms Front staff not too friendly, but fast & easy check in. Good location, close to beach
- 2/5
After a long day at the beach, arriving to the hotel at 6 o’clock, which is only two hours after check-in and no parking was available and on the rental listing that said up to two spots, there was no help from staff very disappointing
- 2/5
The location is good but that’s about it. Pillows were cheap and lumpy. Bed seemed clean but the floor and corners didn’t. Spoke with one man who was cleaning and he was nice, but the woman in the office was gruff and seemed overworked. Didn’t feel very welcoming and like she doesn’t have a lot of support. Window also didn’t have a curtain so the light came in through the slates very bright. It was only a one night stay, we likely won’t be back. I don’t want to be treated like I’m annoying for asking a simple question and no one answers the phone. My advice? Get some better support for your staff so they’re not overwhelmed and grumpy. Room was not cheap and it’s the off season.
- 2/5
Pool was not heated and dirty and no safety rail in the shallow end ,the floors look clean but turned our feet black I have photos. Curly hair on sheet wife spray Lysol .had to wear socks to walk to protect feet. So call free breakfast was no more per office false advertising I want a refund this was a anniversary getaway
- 4/5
This was a great place to stay if you’re just needing somewhere to sleep. Super comfy soft beds, but small pillows. The floor was sticky which was kinda gross but everything else was great. Definitely a good deal for what it’s worth. Parking was a struggle, but at the same time it’s free so…. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re just needing a bed and a shower.
- 2/5
Staff was nice but the room we stayed in could have been cleaner. It had a muggy kind of smell and there were various spaces of the room where we found hair. The walls of the rooms were very thin and we could hear our neighbors talking and walking. Overall it was an okay stay but it could have been cleaner
- 5/5
The property for us os clean and simple. Could have used a chair or two with a small table. Staff is friendly. Shops and restaurants are close by, felt very safe. The worf and ocean are close by. Have stayed there several times.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay
- 2/5
Front desk staff was VERY RUDE. Tall woman long blonde hair who I believe lives on the property. Our room was clean and cozy, a little dated but clean. The rooms have no phones or clocks. Our room look stopped working , we were getting ready to leave for the morning when we realized it. Went to the office and the front desk attendant changed the battery. When that didn’t work she then said, “ if this doesn’t work then I don’t know what to tell you “. She went back to the office and I went down to ask for another room if our lock could not be fixed. When I walked in the office, she said, “we’re closed” and I said “well the door was open and she responded with “I knew I should’ve locked it”… I had to fight for a new room because she wanted to leave for the day and wanted us to wait for the maintenance person to come fix it. Not very friendly at all.
- 5/5
Smooth check in. Great service and a great price for the month of January . The 3 bedroom is super spacious
- 3/5
Room was nice, it was a little dirty. The bathroom was a little dirty, but the sheets are clean, the towels were really scratchy, but it was close to everything and it was cheap so it served its purpose for a night sleep.
- 5/5
We love staying there easy walking distance and clean
- 3/5
Paper thin walls and aging floors

- 4/5
Room was great for family room: house keeping could have been better with coming in and sweeping the floors and fixing the rooms and bringing towels. Maybe I missed something on the agreement. We helped by putting out the trash and towels. The rock shower floor was great too see but to step on during showering sometimes was difficult. and maybe having a clear time of the office hours could help. Other than that great location and surroundings.
- 5/5
Loved it will definitely stay here again
- 3/5
Internet signal was too poor
- 4/5
Great but the owner is never there and I still have a 100 dollar deposit pending on my cash app for a whole 2 weeks already. Which needed to be refunded to me.
- 5/5
Lovely cozy place near the beach
- 5/5
Great staff. Convenient location.
- 2/5
the room floor was not swept - pet hair everywhere. The overall feel of the room was not good. Bad paint, worn trim, just dingy all the way around. Will most definitely NOT stay here again. The location means nothing is the room is BAD....
- 4/5
Every thing was ok !! I had a great time
- 2/5
Our bedsheets had stains on it, outlets were missing covers, the bathtub looked dirty, there was no help desk at night, and parking is horrible. It’s super close to the pier, about 15 mins walk to boardwalk but other than that it’s horrible. Don’t be fooled by the pretty marketing photos. Look at trip advisor first before booking.
- 3/5
There was a lod noise emitting from outside the whole night.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
In a great location — right in between the boardwalk and downtown so easy to walk around. For the price this place is awesome. Only complaint is the SMELL. Stayed here twice, the first time it was just the bathroom that had a bad sewage smell, the second time it was the whole room. Had to keep window open and still didn’t help much. Not sure if it’s the pipes or what but bad enough that we probably won’t stay here again unless it’s a last option which sucks because it’s a nice spot in great location.
- 3/5
Was kept up after quite hours from other guest, hotel front desk had no care in the world, didn’t get
- 5/5
Bat Front Inn staff is always courteous, professional and efficient in accommodating client requests within hotel standards. Housekeeping isost gravious. The rooms are exceptionally clean and this Inn is clearly the underrated stay in Santa Cruz proper.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Friendly staff. Not enough parking.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was very accommodating and welcoming.
- 5/5
Bay View is a great secret spot to enjoy a quick stay or in my case, an extended stay. It is so centrally located that everything Santa Cruz is within walking distance. The staff are sweethearts both in the office and in common areas. *Clean room, pet friendly.
- 5/5
BayVi
- 1/5
I thought it was overpriced for the quality of the room. It was loud all night and I was afraid to go outside. There wasn't enough parking for me because we checked in at 6:30pm so it was full. Had to park on the street. I was charged extra for my pet which made the cost for the room greater. I would not recommend staying there
- 5/5
It was walking distance to the Boardwalk and favorite Bar
- 3/5
This Inn was great until my family and I saw cockroaches on the coffee tray and by the mirror. It made us uncomfortable to sleep through the night.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
The room was technically clean. But it's rundown. The walls are dirty, like stains and actual dust/dirt and overall the place needs some TLC. There is no one after 9 pm and from 12 pm - 3 pm there is no one at the reception. The pool also needs some repairs. I guess for the price, the convenience of the 3 beds, and the location I would probably stay there again, but would not be looking forward to it. Sucks to settle down based on the price, but that's how it is.
- 3/5
Limited parking and front desk close at most of the day.
- 2/5
Only one working plug in the room (the one on the lamp doesn’t work and is loose), only one small roll of toilet paper, and worse is limited parking. You are not guaranteed a spot, which I didn’t know so when I arrived and was told, I had to change my plans to not leave or lose my spot. My son came late at night and luckily found a street spot two blocks away. Parking around hotel is limited, a lot of restrictions. Curtain in the room does not close completely in the center so you are hit with the parking lights all night. One pillow case had a yellow stain on it.
- 3/5
The biggest problem for my family was the chain-smoking of Tabacco and green outside. Facility was worn. No parking as stated. Homeless walked the sidewalk looking into guest cars.
- 5/5
I will definitely come back and stay here again once I visit Santa Cruz. Very quiet and safe area
- 5/5
Hotel is cute. Close to the beach. Walkable to many places. Easy to uber from. Parking is rough- not enough spots. I would park and walk. Close to boardwalk.
- 4/5
The quailty was good
- 3/5
i like this place i have stay here a couple times , the only problem is that i haven't got my security deposit back, and is been 10 days.
- 2/5
Boardwalk was walkable from here. One of the AC units in my room was not working so they moved us to a different room for the night only for them to keep switching us back and forth since we paid for 1 king not 2 queens. Such an inconvenience we had to walk all the way back from where we were at just to switch rooms before 3 and it was 2pm when they called. For the amount of rooms they have there is no parking on property yet still charge for the parking pass. There was a $100 deposit required on top of your hotel fee, which was not disclosed when booking online. Overall I think this place can do better.
- 3/5
This is a small motel and parking is a premium. It is super close to the beach and boardwalk. There are plenty of places to eat thatnare within a couple of blocks away. It was less than 5 mins to the boardwalk. We would come back for sure
- 5/5
Loved the two bedrooms and convenience to the boardwalk!
- 3/5
Very walkable location, but room needs a significant makeover. Keycard system is very flakey and parking is a pain.
- 4/5
Really clean and quiet
- 5/5
Fantastic comfortable bed and very close broadwalk, we be back again
- 4/5
Large clean room, limited parking which was difficult
- 2/5
Not enough parking at this hotel. We had to leave, then come back hoping for a parking space. Also online it said pets were allowed, but didn't say there was an extra $25 at checkin, so surprise! Very old place with thin windows. Can hear everything. Our window had a view of a solid retaining wall/fence. Not nice.
- 3/5
I like the location. The room is clean. I dislike that there isn't enough parking space, Services are limited and thin walls.
- 3/5
Didn’t like how the keys never worked the noise at night and the place in general
- 1/5
The desk clerk could not answer a single question about restaurants, beach access, etc., and was unfriendly. The only info provided was that if I didn't remain in the handicap parking space I would lose it and may have to park on the street somewhere that could be blocks away. When I inquired about other things ie whale watching, there was an "I don't know" to every question. However, she did say she grew up in that city but has never been outside of it. The room was basic, clean enough, but needed some repair work in the bathroom. I will never stay there again.
- 2/5
The front desk is only open from 11-12am and 4-6pm. There’s no one in person to help you if you need it. There’s VERY limited parking and if it’s busy you’ll have to pay for parking on the street. I had someone else’s food left in my mini fridge in my room and hair all in the shower.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was super kind very friendly was a convenient walk to the boardwalk!! Room smelled super clean!
- 4/5
Checking in made easy; The staff was friendly ; room cleanliness was 4-out 5 parking can be challenging
- 1/5
The shower wall had mold and on one side of the room it smelled like dead rat
- 3/5
Hotel was inexpensive and close to the beach which was awesome. Room was clean and reasonably big. They have reduced employee hours so we hardly saw anyone working the entire time we were there. Microwave was broken and the shower had a hard time draining but it got the job done for our couple days there
- 3/5
No frills just bed and great location. Hotel is aging needs a bit of some upgrades.
- 5/5
Pool was closed for high PH. Coffee machine wasn’t working properly. Great location, Great staff, a lady helped me out on her off time. Walking distance to everything.
- 5/5
We requested family suite and were impressed with the layout. Room enough that we were not on top of each other. Front desk had crayons and coloring pages to entertain the grandchildren. It was a great place to wind down after being at the boardwalk. And we all walked to wharf for dinner.
- 5/5
Great service and convenient location.
- 5/5
Close to everything. Good price.
- 3/5
Was on the road and passing thru with my dog. Only here one night. The place was relatively clean and it was just okay. Located close to the boardwalk area so that was convenient. A little bit noisy.
- 5/5
It was comfortable stay in
- 4/5
Loved it there but they definitely could find a way for the room keys not to lose connection so easily, I had to get mine reactivated and it was just in my wallet.
- 3/5
The lobby didn’t out to 3:00. I have to wait to 3:00 clock to check in . Because they were under staff. The room a hair dryer didn’t work. The housekeeper only clean my room one day. I take my own garbage outside.
- 4/5
The parking absolutely sucks. The beds are not comfortable. We did enjoy the convenience and location of the hotel. 3min walk to the wharf and beach. Overall I give this place a 3.5 star rating only because for the price you pay the rooms should be cleaner
- 4/5
Parking is a huge hassle because there aren’t enough spaces. Luckily most things are walkable if you are able to park in the lot, otherwise everything is paid or metered on the street.
- 2/5
The rooms appeared poorly kept, unsafe neighborhood, and noisy
- 4/5
Was a good stay. Loved that it was by the boardwalk. Parking was challenging at times but thankfully we were able to get a spot in the parking lot
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times, but I noticed they have made some upgrades, such as adding more lighting to their parking lot but it’s not too bright to where you can’t sleep at night. I really like the area, and the staff is friendly.
- 5/5
Nice and close to the beach
- 1/5
My husband got locked out outside coz the key don't work but nobody on front desk or security to ask . He called the phone number many times but the lady show up after hes frustrated already...
- 4/5
Nice hotel! Just needs more parking :)
- 1/5
Checked late, no parking available. Park the car across the parking park and got a ticket. Will not return.
- 3/5
Very close to everything but poor quality rooms. Rooms are very small and close to one another along with the door not shutting properly. Nice and easy going staff but wouldn’t return again.
- 5/5
Check in is at 3pm...everything was pretty quick in the lobby. They have a pool, and you can sign out certain things to play in the pool that was fun for the kids. Our coffee pot, it wasn't working and service. The maid service man, they were awesome. She was awesome. She immediately tried to fix the situation, cleaned it up. Couldn't fix it. So she got another coffee pot. I mean, she really was very sweet, limited english. But you could understand that she was trying her best and her best was great. The motel is very close 2, the boardwalk, which made it even better. You didn't have to drive your car. You could just walk literally less than 5 minutes to the arcade area for kids. Had a good time and the motel made it easy. Just as quick to walk to a sit down, breakfast had a great time. Thank you so much
- 3/5
Parking is always full, barhroom door and front foor hard to open
- 1/5
TV BROKEN, the flush plunger on the toilet broken. Towel holder broken. Hole in bathroom door. Front door wound not close No live front desk person
- 4/5
I was happy with the property, parking was fine. Internet was good. Staff was helpful. After hours check-in was simple the lady was very nice. My only problem was that the TV quit working staff tried to reconnect it but it wouldn't work for them either. But we were tired from a long day at the beach so no big deal. Will definitely come back again.
- 5/5
Limited parking and pet area very limited
- 1/5
Terrible communication from motel, called and texted multiple times we were running late when we got there no one was there no parking at all people illegally parked, couldn't even check in had to go elsewhere, very unresponsive
- 3/5
Walking distance to the boardwalk. Exterior was cute. Parking was horrible. The additional street parking is a joke. Ended up parking having to park several blocks away on a not so well lit street. Check in was tedious. The front desk person seemed annoyed to be there with zero personality. The room was VERY small. If you open the bathroom door it hits the end of the bed. The satelite tv box wouldnt connect to the tv and we had to figure it out ourselves. There were stains on the wall, and bathroom smelled musty/moldy. Oh and the AC didnt work. Nearly $300 for one night. Not worth it.
- 4/5
Very comfortable and clean. Checked in a bit early with no charge.
- 5/5
Nice!
- 4/5
I liked that it was walking distance to everytime. But I didn't like the parking. If you don't get there early to get a space. You have to park on the street and pay.
- 3/5
You are unable to reach this hotel by phone or fax. I tried for several days and the call is cut off and you can’t leave a message. I also tried faxing and the fax is off.
- 4/5
Front desk was nice and quick, parking is tough but they allowed us to park in front of the office.
- 5/5
Quick getaway
- 5/5
Small but nice. Far enough from the beach to not get the noise, but not to far to walk.
- 5/5
Everything was good...nothing to complain about ...
- 4/5
Property was convenient and about half the price of surrounding properties. Parking was an issue but Parking is avaliable on the street at night.
- 4/5
This property was great due to the location and the staff, room was subpar, but due to the price we paid it made sense. Id stay again.
- 3/5
Hotel overall is okay. Rooms are in decent condition. sheets and towels were clean and the rooms smelled clean. great location. downtown and boardwalk/pier are walkable. great deli across the street. staff was very pleasant and helpful with any inquiries. towels were way too small and parking is awful. they have “complimentary” parking but they have way more rooms than parking spots. otherwise you have to find metered parking on the street. you have to get lucky to get a spot in the parking lot.
- 3/5
It was overall not bad, but small parking area and had to keep getting my room card programmed.
- 2/5
Water pressure was non existent. The tv we couldnt get it to work.
- 4/5
Comfortable bed. Good, basic hotel. Excellent location.
- 3/5
Hotel is very dated. Needs were not comfortable. Pillows very small and not comfortable at all. If I needed towels I had to go to walk to the office to get myself and hope that the office was open. No phones in room. Room smelled very musty. And good luck with the parking. I'll leave it at that. Not happy at all.. being handicap and having to walk a ways to park off site was not good for me especially at night.
- 4/5
Pretty good hotel, room was nice and clean. For some reason the bathroom had a foul smell since we arrived. Parking is a little tight though, so I recommend if you stay here leave your car parked or you will have to park on the road.
- 3/5
Property was just OK. Pool wasn’t kept up on. Rooms are very small. Bathroom extremely small. Not for big men! Parking is VERY limited. One night we had to park off of the property and I had to pray that I didn’t get a parking ticket until I could move it early in the morning. Room was clean tho. Had issues with the tv and I couldn’t get ahold of anyone to help. Front desk was closed at 11:30 am which I thought was weird. Cleaning staff was very friendly however. I didn’t hate the stay but it’s not the best place I’ve stayed at in Santa Cruz. Honestly don’t think I would stay here again. There were other hotels for the same price we could have stayed at and been more comfortable. In all not bad but not great.
- 5/5
Office staff was very nice and helpful. Despite needing some updates (paint/furniture), the room was very clean and spacious. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the room we had booked actually had an additional room within the room making it extra spacious and comfortable. Downtown, pier, beach and, boardwalk within walking distance making it easy to walk back and forth as needed to take care of my infant’s needs and taking breaks.
- 3/5
The floors were dirty. And the door to the room was hard to open.
- 3/5
No parking space
- 5/5
The property was clean and the staff was very helpful.
- 4/5
Was good
- 4/5
Good accommodation, small parking.
- 4/5
We were amazed at how close the wharf and boardwalk was! It's like a 6 minute walk, closer than you'd think! There's no breakfast served here but there is a cash only market across the street that has several breakfast burritos and we got the banana packets. Large portions! You can order on door dash and pick up if you don't have cash. Our biggest concern is that the parking is non existent. There's like 140 rooms and 40 spaces. Bring quarters for the pay meters or you can park in limited day use, 8M to 8pm pay parking. Between 8pm and 8am, it's free.
- 3/5
Overpriced for Quality.
- 5/5
Had to wait like 20 min for my room to be ready but I just waited by the pool. The staff were all so friendly. Will be back !:)
- 1/5
The best thing about this property is the staff and that's it.
- 3/5
Always wanted to stay close to the boardwalk. Parking is limited so I wouldn’t leave the property. You will not have parking later at night. We didn’t have to because we only wanted to go to the boardwalk literally 5-10mins walk. Room didn’t have moldy smell. Appreciate the travel size soap, conditioner, and shampoo. Front desk was friendly. Coffee, tea and water was offered. Noise level, I didn’t hear anyone next door (light sleeper). There is a deposit $100 which I haven’t refund back… so I’m waiting on that..
- 3/5
I made the reservation through Expedia. I tried calling them when I first got to the hotel but never got an answer now I have a random charge on my card for $100 and I’m trying to call them about it and I still get no answer the location is nice. The hotel is iffy.
- 5/5
The staff, especially Marie! the fact that they loved our dogs and the location in that order. Special thanks to Marie and the staff that secured our vehicle keys and vehicle toolbox when we left. Their personal items in there that made it priceless. And the staff were so kind ready to mail it to me but luckily I was close and just came to pick them up.
- 3/5
Not so good: parking, bathroom small, walking in the room: socks got very dirty..
- 2/5
Beds looked clean but the rest of the room wasnt. I spilled somethung on the floor so i wiped it up with a damp cloth and it came BLACK. I dont know when the last time the floors were mopped. I stood on towel in shower. Only 1 outlet to charge my phone in entire room under a desk. The other outlet didnt work. Parking sucks
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean & easy to get to beach
- 5/5
Very close to the boardwalk...very quiet at night swimming pool for the kids
- 5/5
EVERYTHING WAS JUST PERFECT EASY TO GET TO THE BOARDWALK...HOTEL WAS VERY QUIET KIDS REALLY DID ENJOY THE POOL ....BED WAS VERY COMFORTY
- 3/5
It’s an older property. The AC in one of the rooms did not work
- 5/5
Very easy to get to and from the boardwalk
- 1/5
I informed staff prior to my stay i was going to be arriving later then office hours do to my flight, office texted back and said they would message me a code when the funds have been removed. Funds were removed and no code was ever texted or emailed tried contacting the front desk help line and said phone number wasnt in service. Waited for 2 and a half hours and called 10 times with no response until 330am when the code was sent worst service ever
- 5/5
We loved this little hotel in Santa Cruz! The pool was warm and awesome to have. The distance to the beach, pier, shops and restaurants was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
With 3 beds. Loved the closet space and having our own room away from the kids beds was awesome and u expected.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay in a convenient location. Staff is super friendly and helpful as well.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. I needed an inexpensive place for the night and found one here. Personally, i think the location is great. I was very impressed with the room itself. I got a too good to be true rate so i wasn't expecting much. The location of my room has to be the worst in the complex (there has to be one) but to my surprise, it was great inside with comfortable beds and clean. So, if you want a good location and the rate is better than anywhere else, take it.
- 3/5
I checked in at my assigned check in time 3:00 p.m., my room was not ready. Staff said it would be ready in a few minutes, waited in the parking lot 45 minutes before my room was available to me.
- 4/5
Close access to town and wharf.
- 5/5
For people smoking sitting out front there rooms when it says no smoking I couldn’t keep my wi how open at all and no one at front desk seemed to care
- 3/5
Towels were old & thin.

Stayed in a double queen room. Very small and super outdated, however fairly clean and the stag. Was excellent, especially Marie!!
