This is the second time we have stayed here. The family suite is very comfortable, location is fantastic, and staff were all very friendly. We enjoy this place and will stay here again.

It was just what our family needed. We had a wonderful view of the boardwalk. The kitchen helped save our fun money. Everything was in working distance. The staff was super nice. We will definitely be back the next time we do a Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk trip

This place was not as advertised. There were holes in the wall, floor boards missing. It smelled like natural gas. The pictures showed two beds in one room and one in the adjoining room and that was not accurate. Lighting was barely attached to wall. We found bugs in the room. This is at most a two star. The only good thing about this place is the location. I would not book again.

We stayed here for the location. It was so close to the beach and boardwalk. The room has a nice fridge/freezer and microwave. Free parking was nice! Beds were ok. It was nice to have the second bedroom. But the bathroom is pretty small. No counter space. It’s older and could use some updating.

Friendly staff, and it was nice they accommodated early check-in and sufficient parking spaces. Thin walls, thin floors...book higher floor level to avoid hearing every footsteps especially in the evening.

It was as advertised. The staff was kind and helpful. There is a small deck that has some tables that really helps for hanging out or eating. Parking was convenient. Room was in good condition. Location is very good. Overall good stay.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Santa Cruz and the boardwalk. You can walk to the boardwalk, beach and pier in minutes. The place is clean and well maintained! Best of all... they are pet friendly! I would recommend this place to all my friends and family!

The floor in the room were dirty. We could tell the floors have not been properly mopped. The bedding was decent and clean. Great location but we would not stay here again.

Great location. Floors were gross. I would stay again but bring my own swiffer and a better sheet to block the light coming in the window.

Parking is a bit confusing, since the same property looks like 2 totally different properties.. they only show the colorful painted animal side in the pictures, but we got the other plain brown side of the motel.. We got there at 230 pm knowing that check in time was 3... so not a problem, but had to wait until 3:05... not a big deal. For the Price, I would stay again and recommend.

The manager was suuuuper lovely and helpful. He told us about a bunch of good restaurants in the area and helped us with any issues we had. The only issue I had was that the outlets in the bathroom did not work so I had to plug in my hair styling tools in the bedroom.

Updated rooms close proximity to Boardwalk

It was quiet, which was nice for sleeping. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. I never saw an ice maker but there was an ice bucket. The floor in the room needs attention. Otherwise, the room was perfect for whay I needed, which was sleeping and showering. It was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again on a return visit. The location was perfect for my desired visit. The staff was pleasant. The parking was good. I didnt use the air conditioner as there was no need while I was there. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Aqua Breeze and will recommend it to friends in the future.

My 6 year old son complained that the towels stink. Good thing I had a clean beach towel to use. Parking was super limited. I didn’t want to drive anywhere else or I’ll lose my parking. Other than that, you’re just paying for the location and how close it is to the boardwalk.

Overall great hotel stay. It would’ve been nice to have coffee. Parking was a plus, the only downside was the sunlight that came into the room in the morning, not enough window coverings to block out the sun. I’ll definitely be back though.

Old property with some rooms updated. Not very clean, no hair dryer. There was a fridge, which was nice. Cost, for the area, was pretty good. Staff was ok. Another case of getting what you pay for. The location was great, though.

Easy check-in and the staff members were so nice and helpful. Walls a bit thin but most guests were pretty quiet. It was really nice to look out the window and see the rides at the boardwalk right there and be so close to the beach. Theres coffee packets in the lobby to grab but hot cups and coffee packs in rooms would be a big bonus. Overall a good stay and will probably keep staying here any time were in the area! Easy and just the right price.

You couldn’t ask for a closer spot to the Boardwalk! The blue building has a lot of character, very vintage beach vibes. Parking in front of the property is tight; there is limited additional parking in the back. Expedia lists an elevator in the Accessibility section. This is incorrect. Book on the first floor only if you have limited mobility. That said, if you can walk a short distance & climb 3 steps, booking on the 2nd floor & parking in the back is the way to go. The door in the back opens onto the 2nd floor & has 3 steps. We couldn’t get the wifi to connect at all. The beds made my back and hips hurt (but I could also just be old).

Incredibly convenient location for visiting the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Small room (we had a triple suite) with very little closet/storage space, but beds are comfortable and linens are clean. Quiet given the location. Towels were very old and scratchy. In short, a convenient spot for the SC boardwalk but don't expect much in the way of creature comforts while in the room.

You can feel the sea breeze through your window. A fair amount of activity sounds from the boardwalk, you are in the center of it all. There was an earthquake one night and the place shook but stood strong! Staff are awesome!

Room was clean, staff was nice, able to check in early for a fee but not too bad. Great if you’re going over to the boardwalk. You’re able to walk to and from the boardwalk in about 5 minutes. Would stay here again

Not for the weak or for families. People having parties, smoking weed, making loud noises in rooms til 4am. Never ever staying here again. Staff was nice but just not the place to stay.

I was traveling with another adult female and three children, including a toddler in a stroller. We were placed on the third floor with no elevator and given no prior notice. Carrying everything upstairs with kids was extremely difficult. When I politely asked about a lower-level room, I was told no. Upstairs, a cleaning cart blocked the walkway, so I moved it slightly to get through. Shortly after, a large male staff member came to my room while I was unloading and began yelling at me, calling me disrespectful and accusing me of being aggressive. He then threatened to kick us out without a refund, leaving two women and three children without accommodations. I tried to de-escalate, but it was intimidating and unprofessional. Later, he aggressively confronted a visiting friend about parking and continued to question her, saying he would be watching cameras. That same night, I received two back-to-back calls from the front desk around 9:40 PM, which felt intrusive. At checkout, they kept my deposit over a smoking rule that was never clearly communicated—no signs or paperwork. The treatment felt targeted and uncomfortable. Overall, the staff was hostile and unprofessional. I would not stay here again.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding, right across from the Boardwalk. The management made parking easy and accessible. Room was clean and fresh. We had no issues with exchanging used towels and the housekeepers were all very pleasant and hardworking. It would have been nice to have coffee in the room without having to get it from the office. Not an issue after we figured out we had to get it from the office. 😁

I didn’t feel safe with my little girl so we didnt end up staying. The door didn’t have a deadbolt or physical lock. And the door faced the street. The place was clean. If you are looking for the very basic and don’t mind noise as people walk past your window and door non stop it’s a good fit.

Walls are very thin, so noise was an issue. They also closed the patio for cleaning from Saturday afternoon until we left early Monday morning. I was able to squeeze the last drop out of the bath wash container but my daughter had to use shampoo since the office was closed at the time. Location was good and staff very nice. Beds are very comfortable and everything was clean.

The cheap $25 micriwave from walmart was broken and the property manager charged me $50. How long do they expect their cheap appliances to work? Then they charge double what it is worth? I should have know this was a sketchy place. When i checked in, the man at the desk said next time i have to check in before i park my car in a parking space. I said “i have to park somewhere to get off and check in.” he said you can just park your car in the middle of the driveway and block the cars, it wont be long.“ the only good thing about this run down place, is it is located across from the boardwalk.

For a budget friendly location. I can't complain. It was within walking distance of everything you need. And only steps from the boardwalk. The property is definitely a little older but the rooms were clean and adequate for what I paid. Although I may look for something different on our next stay. I would consider staying here again in the future.

This place is really sweet for how affordable it is. I stayed in a room in the corner (room 203) and it was very quiet + has a window that opens to a side yard area = felt more like a bedroom at home. Plus the free parking + bein per friendly + super sweet and accommodating staff. Would totally stay here again.

That they don’t put coffee in the rooms. Their office is closed a lot, too. They don’t allow smoking on the property, which is fine, but there are cigarette butts everywhere by the sidewalk. If they aren’t going to allow smoking then they need to put an ashtray out there at least!

The room was dirty and run down. The staff are not welcoming and yelled at us that they were going to charge us extra fees.

Easy parking, nice staff

The hotel itself is a rundown dump, but the trade-off is it’s 140 bucks a night to be two minutes from the beach. We stayed on the first floor and we could hear every movement the people above us made, while we were there the P-trap for the sink in the bathroom, literally disconnected, they came and “fixed” it, but when we ran the sink, it still leaked water on the floor, I just left towels, the entire property could benefit from a washer rag and some scrubbing bubbles, and the exterior could use a mild pressure washer. I gave it a two star because it was cheap and because the staff did give us extra towels when we asked, which is sometimes difficult with these budget type properties. Would I stay here again? No, even for a budget property this was pretty dirty and loud. If you are going to stay here, I recommend staying on the third floor.

What that actually got was a bed in the living room. A table that sits two people. Dirty. The pool is no longer there. It has been submitted over. We thought we would have a living room room for all of us to hang out. We could not all fit. Super disappointing paid extra for for a two bedroom should’ve saved our money and got a standard room.

There was no pool that should be stated on the website that the pool is out of service and the bed on the right side was broken. There was a lot of noise in the next room over.

Bed was comfy and it was quiet. There are bright lights everywhere and the curtains are not blackouts so beware if you have napping toddler issues like us.

Kitchenette came with full size refrigerator and gas stove. Perfect for small family. Older hotel right in front of Boardwalk parking lot so it made getting to boardwalk very easy and convenient. We needed an ADA room, but they were sold out (my fault i forgot to request when booking) but they were very accommodating to what we needed. I also appreciate that they called to confirm our check-in eta since we were running late and they waited for us..with a welcoming smile. Thank you

You can hear everyone slamming doors and stomping around all day and night the beds are horrible and they say pet friendly but have no potty areas on the hotel you have to walk across the street to a sliver of wood chips by a random parking lot.

The hotel is in the perfect spot for familes going to the beach! We attended a wedding on the beach so it was extremely helpful to miss out on parking fees. Complimentary toiletries were super helpful on our first night!

Room was typical for a touristy beach town. It's an older hotel with wear & tear but it served its purpose. Grandkids loved the outside murals & sea theme. Very conveniently located across from boardwalk. Saved us from having to pay for parking in the lot across the street.

I liked this hotel, I would stay at it again. I would just say that my room had a very large bathroom and a smaller room, there was no hair dryer, iron/ironing board, and the luggage rack was broken. It could use a remodel but was still a nice place to stay.

The space was fine but we stayed in a two bedroom and the fan was very old and made a lot of noise. Very little circulation in the second room. The towels were small for an adult to use and some were very poor quality. For the price, I would think that stocking the room with a few coffee pods would be reasonable instead of having to go to the office at 8am only to have to return to your room to brew it. The ice machine should be upgraded since it is expected that families would be using it to fill ice chest to go to the beach. The limit on ice was ridiculous. The staff was very nice and the housekeeping was great. Overall I would only recommend this location if nothing else is available and that is due to the proximity of the boardwalk.

Great location across the street from the boardwalk. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room for an older, dated building. The front desk clerk was friendly & the check-in process was easy. It’s a no frills hotel, but you can tell they try to keep it clean & maintained. My teen loved having her own private room inside our room too. We mainly just needed the room to sleep with an early morning departure, but we would definitely book here again.

This was a good place for a quick trip to Santa Cruz. We stayed with our family of 5 for one night. There was plenty of space for all of us. They only have stairs so if you need an elevator you would need to request the first floor. The place is a bit run down however, if the only thing you need is a clean place with a bed to sleep in then this will work for you. The walking distance to the boardwalk was great. It made it easy for us to come and go as needed. Our room was right by the patio on the second floor where people would hang out and smoke. I wasn’t a fan of that because we could smell it in the room. The beds were not super comfortable but you get what you get for the price.

Really enjoyed the fact the property was within walking distance of the boardwalk. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy, the guy at registration was super nice and even gave us some recommendations of places nearby. Honestly customer service alone ranks 100/10

Property was great all around. It was just a parking lot away from the main entrance to the boardwalk. Very quiet, no nonsense kind of place. The place is very old but that's what gives it character. We will definitely stay there again the next time out to Santa cruz.

The staff was friendly and very helpful with finding us a parking spot..... the parking there is tight, not designed for anything past a small suv, definitely not for larger vehicles or trucks. The room was clean and the beds were okay. The bathroom was very small but did the job.

My stay at the Aqua Breeze Hotel was great! It was a very quick check in and I used cash as a deposit which I got in the same form the next day. I didn't spend too much time in the room since there is so much to do around the hotel due to its great location but the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and quite big too! I was on the first floor right behind the stairs but honestly I didn't hear any loud noises until about 9 the next morning but I was already awake and preparing to check out. I definitely recommend staying here if you're going to Santa Cruz and plan on coming back again!

Fantastic location and facility

The room was perfect for a family with a separate king bedroom and two queens in the other room. This property was perfect for us as we had 17 and 15 year old grandsons and our 6 year old grandaughter with us. The boys walked to the boardwalk when ever they wanted to which was great. This property is older but well maintained and clean, the staff was great and the free on site parking was a godsend. We read alot of the negative reviews from people that were obviously expecting the Ritz Carlton which it is not but it so convenient and totally met our expectations. We were very satisfied.

The motel was old and loud, but the location was across from the parking lot of the Boardwalk which was amazing. It was ok overall. The room did not have a safe which I would have felt better about.

Cons: paper thin walls, uncomfortable beds (can feel the springs), bad WiFi, cheap towels & bedding. It’s definitely a 2-3 star motel but if you’re traveling on a small budget, you’ll appreciate it.

The inside of the room was extremely basic, however clean. It definitely needed some modern touches. There were no elevators and dark stairwells. It would not be a place a lady would feel safe alone. The bed constantly squeaked anytime you moved. It was convenient to walk to the boardwalk. The front office staff were very nice. A paint job would help make the experience nicer. Even though we stayed the night we highly considered finding an alternative.

The location was great! The customer service was great! I was disappointed that I reserved 2 queen beds and a full size bed; 3 beds in total. When I got to the room, they were all full sizes. I was too tired to complain.

Management was rude didn’t find out so we got there only one car allowed in the parking lot. Had to pay $35 to park across the street. The room had a bug crawling on the wall that I’ve never even seen before that was huge not clean, dirty not kept up

We stayed for 2 nights. Beds are fine to sleep on. Simple and basic room was fine for our trip to the boardwalk. Clean rooms and bathrooms.

The AC unit is so laid when working, it literally give you migraine headaches! The water pressure is very bad! All this and more and they charge pretty good amount! Except the location of this place which is literally at the Beach Boardwalk; everything is 1 or 2 star!

The pictures look way nicer than in person. It’s definitely motel rooms. They say there is coffee between 8am and 10am but you get coffee packets to take to your room. This is very budget inn and especially for the price of the rooms.

The stay was good. Nice rooms. The only issue we had was that we paid ahead of time to extend our check-out time to 1pm, and this information was not passed along to the cleaning person. She was visibly upset that we were not out of our room at 11am. I had to go down to the office to get the check-out time confirmed. Once confirmed that we had paid for a check-out time of 1pm, the cleaning person walked away (again, visibly upset) that she could not clean the room at 11am. This was not a big deal on my end but could have been avoided had this information been properly communicated.

No "elevator" as stated; also parking area was being paved; recieved notification notice late;was NOt able to cancel reservation. Nice staff; very clean hotel room & outdoor patio. Ideal for large familes with children, Ideal location across from Beach Boardwalk. Back parking area very shady with heavy metal door entrance; but we made it work for a few days of stay.

This place is old but has good bones. The room was HUGE, with full size fridge and stove. It honestly was a mini apartment. The second bed was in a separate room. So it was really nice for the wife and I to have private time and not worry about the kids seeing us, you can just close the door. I definitely would come back here again!!!

I would love to give this motel a great review based on how nice the staff was. Unfortunately the property was filthy. The floors and floorboards looked like the inside of a gas station bathroom. Dirty shower, hair and mystery substance on the wall. I immediately went to the office and complained. They did have the cleaning service come back and clean however there was still visible dirt and grime. I think the room was so far gone it really needed like a professional deep cleaning company to come in. The location is great! Right accross from the boardwalk. Other than that I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it was far as how dirty it was.

I didn’t love the dog friendly property because dogs were barking all night. Also the room next to us appeared to be living in the hotel room which is not the kind of property I stay at. Refrigerator froze our drinks, sink was scalding hot water and the shower was Luke warm. Won’t come back.

This is an older property, but clean. The microwave and fridge came in handy. There was not a coffee maker in the room.. which would have been nice to have. It you are 40 or older… the mattress may pose a challenge for your body. :) overall… great location! Can’t beat an across the street walk to the beach and boardwalk!
