We were at the hotel on business. The staff was very helpful in finding a location for us to park our pickup and trailer.

I didn't complain because we got in the hotel late,but next day I saw other rooms with wooden,fresh floor and nice smell. The staff very nice and helpful. Lady in the restaurant makes waffles and breakfast on request but only till 8-8.30. If you come after 9 (breakfast till 10) there won't be much food left.

Vending machine took my 1.50 but did not deliver soda drink.

Convenient location. Great price compared to everything else. You have to be careful pulling out onto Lincoln. People speed.

A very nice, friendly and comfortable motel. The breakfast and restaurant were excellent. It could use some typical upgrades like carpet, but was and excellent value, with a friendly, very responsive staff. I will stay here again when I'm in the area.

This older property has real charm, very clean, awesome restaurant on site, excellent staff!

I brought a small fan for white noise, and in my haste forgot it on the table. While checking in to my next destination I called to inform staff. I was told if it was found during cleaning it would be held for pick up. Being that it was before check-in at Villa Inn I figured housecleaning picked it up to store away in lost and found. I drove all the way back to get it the next day only to be told it wasn’t there. I guess lesson learned.

The property is a little run down, chairs and rugs are worn and need to be replaced, but it was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was good

A very convenient roadside inn with an Italian Touch and connected to a Restaurant. The breakfast was excellent by US standards for this type of accomodation. You can pay more and get less at many other places. The Inn is very popular, it was jammed fulll at the time. Some of the rooms (only a few) are a bit too close to the highway noise.

Breakfast was OK. Staff was friendly. The room smells bad like it has not been in used for a long time. Also, the sink did not work properly.

Nothing to complain about, but nothing to really write home about. I had high expectations for the breakfast, but it was nothing too notable.

He made us feel real uncomfortable especially at night. We were going to extend our stay 2 more days but decided not to because of this man!

Staff was very accommodating

Room was clean and comfortable. Large and spacey with mini-fridge, microwave and Kuerig. TV was small for the large room. Traffic noise and parking lot noise was bothersome. Shower was nice but did not drain well.

The only complaint is that the shower did not drain at all so you are standing in deep water while showering.

Overall experience was good, just one thing I noticed was crumbs on the bed which means they didn’t clean the bed prior. Breakfast was good, also good thing there’s a mini fridge and a microwave!

Villa Inn is a budget motel and served our purpose well - it was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a little underwhelming compared to other hotels but it worked for the one morning we were there.

This property is charming and its location is relatively accessible to local businesses. It is dated, but this is what makes it comfortable and unique. The grounds were well kept and there is an abundance of greenery and flowers. Breakfast was simple but fulfilling. We will definitely return the next time up in the area.

Great spot for traveling

The room and bedding seemed clean, but the furnishings in my 2nd floor room were worn and need refreshing. I told the front desk my fridge wasn't working and it was replaced before I got back that evening. The restaurant was almost full for their Wednesday night prime rib special.

Convenient location. Breakfast underwhelming. Thin walls allowed for lots of neighboring room sounds. Ok if you’re on a budget.

Very pleased with our stay here. Rooms are immaculate, quiet and smell amazing. Breakfast is in the restaurant and has eggs, bagels, muffins, fruit and other things ready to serve plus you can order a thick waffle from the kitchen. Dining area and nightclub are very reminiscent of 1950's and Italian themed. Location isn't far from some shopping and very close to Hwy 101.

My first room’s heater/AC was not functioning, so I had to request a new room. Overall pretty clean and comfortable, just wished there were fewer people loitering around smoking all the time.

I really love this place to stay at the price point. This is a clean, well situated place in a convenient area, there’s even a restaurant. I find the staff to be very nice. It’s near our favorite beach, so we will keep returning for short trips when we can. Thank you so much for your quaint little spot that we love!

I enjoyed my stay at Villa Inn. I honestly didn’t have stellar expectations as I was only staying for the weekend. But I was positively surprised to see how comfortable my stay was. I slept well, I felt safe, and the environment was quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommend a stay at Villa Inn. It’s cozy, quiet, and nice.

The room was clean, and location was easy to find off the freeway. We would definitely stay here again. The only issue was the room above us was very, very noisy late into the night.

There were bed bugs. The upholstered chair in the room was covered with stains. The room smelled bad. Checkin guy was unfriendly. Checkout guy was very nice. Gave me a refund and some driving tips.

The place was not renovated since the 60's, it smells bad, don't be fooled by the photos. The floor was dirty and if you walk bare foot your legs will become black from dirt, the chair was ripped, so are the towels and curtains, the bathroom faucet was broken, the porcelain was worn and pounded. The furniture is very old and smelly. The breakfast included nothing but the worse scrambled eggs and a bad coffee. With all that one would expect a nice treatment from the crew, but they are not friendly at all.

Friendly staff, clean room, breakfast good, the made to order waffle was delicious, bagels cream cheese, scrambled eggs. Orange juice, muffins, cereal. They have an.italian restaurant attached, authentic family recipes. Excellent. Really liked walking from.our room to the restaurant for dinner. Full bar.

This place was okay for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good. The guy at check in was sullen and unfriendly. The walls and ceiling had weird stains and I feel like someone needs to go in there and sponge them down. No one wants to see brown stains on the wall.

Convenient location but a bit run down. Room was clean but the rooms need an upgrade. Dresser was missing a handle, chair had leather peeling off the top, telephone on the desk doesn’t work. Carpets outside on the walkway upstairs are old and faded.

Good price for short stay, but outside window wouldn't lock, A/C barely worked, bathroom fan sounded like it was about to fall apart (very noisy), sink stopper was lying in a corner on the bathroom floor, bathroom walls and ceiling were disintegrating, bedroom carpet, mattress shape and furniture looked 40 years old. Having said that, the room and bathroom were clean (although smelled a bit moldy). I liked that the room had a mini-frig, but this property is in serious need of a facelift and upgrade...explains the low price. The on-site cafe closed at 8:30 pm (Friday), so when I arrived that evening, it was 5 min too late. The breakfast on Sunday was minimal, continental, and without things like hot water/tea, peanut butter....no protein to be found. Eek...this restaurant needs new, creative management!

Safety is my first priority. Although a bit beat up, my room was really clean and all appliances worked. Good for a work stay. There's actuality a really good restaurant on the property.

It’s a real shame that the pool facilities is completely not existence any longer. It would’ve really been nice to be able to use the pool facilities.

The room is clean, beds and pillows are comfortable. All you need for a night or five without spending a fortune on the city. We were only there for a night but would gladly spend more here if needed. The included breakfast was very good as a bonus!

Internet felt slow to me. Housekeeping, Breakfast and Parking are alright. The AC and Heater can be better. Can we also get plastic ice bucket instead of paper.

This hotel was generally a good value for the cost. However, I am an elderly woman and was assigned a room on the second floor. The property has no elevator so I was obliged to lug my suitcase up a flight of stairs to get to my room.

This establishment is a quaint motel, it has a restaurant (Italian) attached to the property. Check in was simple, room was small but had everything we needed for our 1 night stay, price was good too. The room was clean & comfortable. 10/10 from us.

Our stay was good. The clerk at check in was very nice. The bed mattress was very old and the bed squeaked. It was comfortable enough though.

Italian restaurant on the property.

The motel was fine for a quick stay. I came with a coffee machine, fridge and a microwave. The carpets looked really old and dirty and the bathroom was clearly dated from the 80's. It was quite spacious and quiet. The continental breakfast was quite filling and the lovely lady made us waffles, which was a great touch to the usual donuts as a continental breakfast in other motels.

Peaceful property, older and vintage but still pleasant. Cleanliness of the bathroom needed to be better as there were cobwebs in the window and splats on the wall. Beds were comfortable.

This is an older hotel - kinda feels like visiting my grandma. That said, the rooms are spacious, the folks are super friendly. If you need 5-star, go elsewhere. If you want friendly and affordable with good amenities, stay here. I stay here every time I travel to a Bay Area race.

Best inn stay ever

I’ve stayed at Villa Inn, three times, in the past. This time, my experience was much worse. My neighbors directly above me were partying until 1am for 3 nights in a row. Also, during most nights, I had a terrible WiFi reception in my room. Otherwise, room was clean, maid service was pretty responsive, and front desk staff were very nice. Continental breakfast was okay.

Great hotel at a great price. Very helpful and courteous staff. Only place I stay at when visiting the Bay Area.

I haven't tried to adjoining restaurant or its free continental breakfast. I'll let others review it.

This is an old property. It has been barely adequately maintained. The door to the room had a gap around it. The shower didn't work properly. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower dispensers. The sink drained very slowly.

Check in was easy. Restaurant was good. Shower was great and all amenities such as fridge, microwave, dryer , tv were fine. Bed was extremely hard with two hard pillows and lightweight bedding. Service was very good.

Clean and friendly place. Okay Continental breakfast. This is my second visit here. I stayed for a couple of weeks, this time around. Overall, a great value spot to stay at. My only complaint is that there were many nights after 9~10pm with lots of noise coming from the parking lot and some nights with children stomping around in the hallways. Not like my experience previously.

I found the space adequate- simple and basic and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Nice shower and tile work in bathroom. Fridge and microwave were really nice to have. Fairly quiet for a weekend. Excellent convenient location to downtown San Rafael.

The hotel is showing it's age, but it has a lot of good amenities. It has a nice vanity nook. The refrigerator works almost too well. The room was spacious and the bed was good but the pillows and linen wasn't great.

This hotel is located in nice location for visit to Muir Woods and Point Reyes. I like that they have parking for all guests. The front desk lady was very kind and helpful. Also the restaurant (not associated with hotel) has excellent food and service. It provides the convenience for dinner after a long day. The hotel room itself is only OK. It’s a old Inn. The bed is comfortable though.

Everything was amazing, except for ants invading the bedroom with two beds! We had no food in the room, but could not use two beds.

Booked one night stay on our way to family event. Motel was clean and in pretty good repair. Desk staff were courteous and helpful in guiding us to places we needed to go. We were heading to a remote area so the convenient shopping was wonderful. Was located right off of freeway so getting around was pretty easy although there was a little morning traffic congestion. Continental breakfast was very basic. Is a nice motel for the price.

This was my 4th or 5th stay at Villa Inn. Clear and comfortable--and the excellent Italian restaurant is an added boon.

Attendant was kind and Maid service was responsive. Conveniently located near downtown restaurants and 101 freeway. Clean quiet and comfortable room with a fridge and microwave.

It was amazingly clean. Modern yet retro, comfortable and quiet! We will go back and stay longer I am sure. The offer a continental breakfast, which was very nice, and there is an amazing cafe on site that serves really good food! Wish they had white zen in the bar! But dinner was amazing.

Very convenient,rooms are spacious

The rooms were clean, and overall location felt safe. The only bummer was that the adjacent restaurant was closed during our stay, and as a family that was part of why we booked our rooms here so on our arrival after driving all day we didn't have to drive further to find dinner. Good news is, the person that checked us in said it was opening back up the next week.

The reviews were so positive I decided to stay here and the price for the area is pretty great, but the building is worn and old and the staff seemed slightly irritated when I checked in. It was fine for my stay but should be noted everything is pretty worn.

The staff was wonderful. The room was great. But I must mark the hotel down for breafast. This may be unfair since the main restaurant is closed for repairs. But "breakfast included" is misleading when all that was available was cereal, bananas, and hard boiled eggs.

Had a nice little restaurant on the property. The older son was very nice when we ate there. The owner is a tough old bird. Some of the people that stayed there were kind of sketchy but otherwise nice room.
