We were staying in #226 The Latino neighbor was having a music party all night long , till about 1:05 am We only stayed one night , not sure if this is an every night thing ? If it is ! Then the property will need to consider installing double paneled window to block the noise .

The cleanliness of both the room and the hotel lobby area was commendable. If you plan to sleep in or have an early flight, I recommend looking elsewhere. Around 12:50 AM, there was a loud party right outside my room window, which made it impossible for me to sleep. When I contacted the front desk for assistance, the staff were quite rude. I was informed that there was a hall next door, and there was nothing they could do about the noise other than offer to move me to another room. Like really? At 1 am?? The delivery of this message felt dismissive and unhelpful. When I inquired why guests would be placed in rooms so close to the source of noise, the staff member's attitude was dry and unaccommodating, asking, “Do you want to move or not?” Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this property. It was frustrating to deal with noise and a lack of support from the staff. Also, the hot tub was out of order and they ran out of breakfast an hour before breakfast ended.

This hotel isn't out at scenic Coyote Point, it's right on the 101 freeway -- right on it. I had one of the quieter rooms (requested it), but it didn't much matter. Bring your earplugs! And this property is pretty dated and needs a refresh. Great staff though! Rating should be about 8.2.

The kids and I stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was located in a quiet neighborhood which my kids and I appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was decent enough too (they rotated hot foods on the 2 mornings that we ate). A minor nitpick regarding the breakfast was the oatmeal (it was in packages - instead of being freshly made which I prefer). The daily room rate was excellent too (especially in the Bay Area). We are out of town visitors and the hotel is close enough to San Francisco (about a 30 minute drive). The room was decent enough as well. One minor nitpick regarding the room was the dimness of the lights in the room especially in the evenings. There were 3 desk lamps located throughout the layout of the room. I was sleeping on the bed nearest the air conditioner/window, and I was attempting to read a book at night on my bed. Since the lighting was dimmed in the room in the evenings, I had to read the book on the edge of the bed sitting next to the desk lamp located on a stand between the 2 queen beds. There wasn’t enough lighting in the room to read the book or read the news on the tablet in the middle of the bed. Perhaps installing 1 or 2 ceiling lights to brighten up the room so that it is easier to read a book or read the news on a tablet in the middle of the bed in the evenings might be a good idea… Overall, it was a nice stay with an excellent hotel daily rate. Will be one of my go to places to stay in the Bay Area in the future…

I frequent South San Francisco area, this was my first time here, but won't be my last. It is difficult to find reasonably priced hotels in this area that aren't aged out, repainted, and tired. This is one of those scarse, clean, new, fresh, enviting hotels ... AND priced to please.

I was welcomed by Tina and she was outstanding in all respects. I also interacted with the cleaning staff and was impressed. The room was excellent for the price and the complementary breakfast adequate. The only problem was the business office where I tried several times to print a boarding pass and was never able to do it.

Found only one large towel in the bathroom for two people. Called down to the front desk and found I need to go down to get more towels instead of staff delivering to the room. When returning to the room for the second day found room had not been made up and no towels and washcloths had been delivered. Went to front desk to get some and was told rooms are only made up every other day. Had this been mentioned at check-in we would have taken care to reuse towels & washcloths. I can't think of another hotel that I've stayed at that has an every other day policy. Very unlikely to stay at another Best Western.

The most important review is of the staff. Everyone was professional, kind, attentive and friendly. Especially the front desk staff. The facility is within walking distance of a recreation park with walking, running, biking, etc. trails. The facility is a little worn, but the staff make it a place to visit again.

We visit San Mareo often and San Mateo Best Western is pur place to stay. We are warmly welcomed, our room is excellent and the staff is great!

It was a short overnight stay. The coffee and fresh fruit and cereal were great for breakfast. The hot foods (it was the last hour of breakfast time) were lukewarm but that was expected. For a continental breakfast, it was just fine. And there were also hardboiled eggs, and yogurt. Plenty of healthy foods. In a very clean setting. Room was also roomy, clean, good HVAC. A great value.

Check in went well. We weren’t told that the room had no phone, so I had to call the front desk to resolve a problem. We were told the tv had particular channel that we were looking for and it didn’t. The tv was very hard to navigate. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.

While the staff was all friendly, they also made multiple mistakes during my stay and didn’t address most. Double charged my deposit, the TV didn’t work, and the Internet didn’t work in my room, and they were out of half of the breakfast items from 7-830. I don’t need perfect and any one of the issues by itself is fine, but all of them together is just a lot. When I brought up to the front desk he promised that his GM would call, of course they never did.

Breakfast options were adequate, the hotel was notably crowded around the waffle-making area due to being at full capacity. I commend the cleanliness of the room and common areas. Wi-Fi was consistently reliable, and the staff were pleasant and attentive. Although the reception staff's demeanor was somewhat reserved, it was not a concern. I expected a brief overview of information such as schedules and Wi-Fi details, but I had to request it. The primary issue was a visible concrete barrier in the indoor parking that is both dangerous and unnecessary, as it offers no functional benefit. I strongly recommend its removal to prevent potential damage to vehicles, as it is not easily visible even with a cone. Be proactive to ensure safety and avoid accidents.

Have been staying in various hotels 3 nights for the past 4 weeks around this area for personal reasons. So far this place has been the best in cleanliness, staff, room, and breakfast. The only complaint is walls are thin. We could hear people talking on both sides of the room and showering on one side.

Greeted with a smile at the front desk to start. Rooms are affordable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The rooms were very clean, and the wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash were great. We were next to the freeway, but never heard it. The breakfast was from 6 am to 10 am, which was so nice. A good window to accommodate all guests. Easy checkout through a text sent by the hotel. A parking garage under the property made it easy to find parking if there wasn't any in the main parking lot. We will stay again.

The place is great. Its a little dated but overall very nice place to stay. The staff was very nice and attentive. I think the staff makes the place feel better. Lots of parking under ground wirh elevator. Felt safe all the time. The breakfast was very decent. There are places to eat all around but you have to cross.freeway or go on it real quick or through a neighborhood which in all cases wasn't to bad.

I would love to thank the front desk manager on helping my parents out with checking in for their stay. They usually have one of us with them when they go on trips but thankful for the gentlemen in the front who assisted them with everything. Thank you best western employees wish I got your name!

Very nice stay!

Located close to SFO. Large room, great breakfast, good value for the area.

New York Pizza was a 8 minute drive away, easy to access, and food was great and glad it was nearby. Service was good as well. Breakfast was good, wish there were more protein options.

This Best Western is conveniently located, near freeways and SFO. The bed was very comfortable, room and hotel clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great ... Good eggs & protein options. I LOVED the sauna. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of commission and there were no outdoor seating areas. Lots of road noise but AC unit helped to muffle it. My toilet had a constant drip otherwise I was very happy with my stay.

Great staff always really nice and accomdating. The bed was good, just wanted bigger pillows I didnt ask so I have no clue if that was an option but honestly that was just a little part. The workout room needed better air ciculation it was very humid. The breakfast was on point

We were a transfer from a different hotel chain, which left us feeling unsafe. I contacted Best Western Coyote Point and they offered early check-in at a fee that INCLUDED that day’s breakfast. The cost for that was less than a fast food breakfast for the same number of people. The conditions and convenience of this hotel will have me staying here again.

We enjoyed the room, beds, staff and the breakfast. It was very hot in the room and the thermostat on the wall wouldn’t lower the temperature under 76 degrees. The laundry dryer was extremely loud and unbalanced. It was deafening to be in the laundry room and I am so grateful our room wasn’t on that floor because you could hear it all the way down the hall. It took 2 hours per load to dry and the clothes were still damp so I folded them up. The hot tub was also closed.

My biggest complaint is that the EV charging was expensive. The main reason I chose this hotel was access to EV charging. They have plenty of chargers, but they wanted .60 kWh– which a Tesla Supercharger down the road is faster and is only .45 kWh. I should be able to plug in over night and charge for free or a minimal fee. Parking was also not free, which is frustrating. Finally, we had a fire alarm go off and had to evacuate the hotel. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but it still happened. I will say that the breakfast was pretty good.

I’ve stayed here several times while visiting family in the past few years. Overall, it’s hard to beat. It’s the same price as most other comparable hotels in the area but they include a nice breakfast. They recently upped their parking charge which used to be free to $14 a night, which is still cheaper than most other places as well. The room is nice, just don’t expect the latest modeling in the bathroom. But it’s clean and the beds are comfortable. I do hear people above me walking so I’m not sure how much insulation there is between rooms but this is also pretty common in this price range. The only negative was a fire alarm went off at 10 o’clock at night and everyone had to evacuate. The fire department came . It apparently was a false alarm or someone smoking in their room, but better to be warned than to be sorry. I’m not holding this against the hotel. I’d stay here again.

Reasonable price

The hotel was fine. My room was clean, but didn't feel fresh. There were odd smells throughout the hotel including my room smelling of cleaning chemicals.

It was a good room the best was Ed at the front desk he was really nice, polite and friendly very helpful.

Great Value hotel. Actually pretty easy access to both downtown Burlingame and San Mateo. Decent hot tub that was actually hot. Easy parking (but I do not like the $9 charge for a hotel of this level, but there are a lot of low speed EV chargers which would justify the fee with the right car). Hot Breakfast was good. Room towels could be better quality. Will stay here again for overall value.

Pleasant stay

Convinient location if you have to stay close to the airport but also be able to go to nearby towns for dining. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast was decent. Hallways were smelly and carpets were old. Bit noisy as it's close to 101. The hotel didn't clearly show the daily parking fee. I thought the parking was free based on some reviews but they charged me $9 per night. I'd have preferred to have known this beforehand.

A great place to stay when travelling through SFO and you don’t want to be downtown. The only shortcoming was there was no airport shuttle, however an uber was only around $25 and we enjoyed the property. Room service was a local delivery of Aegean or burgers. Which was fine. Breakfast was complementary and quite good.

The customer service from the staff was 10/10, but the room was awful, it had this bad smell of dirty and clean, like when you mop with a dirty mop, or clean with a dirty rag, turns out they washed the carpet and well pretty much that explained the smell. I had bites all over my feet over night, so not sure if there was something in the bed or a spider bit me while I was sleeping but definitely in the bed.
