Clean and convenient for a place to sleep. However, we were awakened at 9am to the loudest fire alarm I’ve heard in my life. We ran out thinking there was a fire! A employee came and opened our door wide open and walked away. Turns out they were testing the alarm system and the alarm went off for another 15 minutes. No warning, no heads up, just a rude wake up call.

I always come to town from Nevada due to all my family being here in the Bay Area! This hotel has literally been the best one I have stayed at. Next month will be my 5th stay!

Room was great - spacious and clean! The pool wasn’t open for the second year in a row we’ve stayed there so that was a bit of a bummer for the kids. Breakfast is adequate, enough to get you out and on your way!

A decent place to stay if traveling solo. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were so-so. The pool was closed for 'renovations." The area was kind of sketchy; I didn't feel really comfortable after dark outside. Breakfast was VERY basic with no extras of any kind, and frankly, fell well short of what is offered in the Hiltons and Marriotts that give free breakfast with rooms.

Bad: they gave me a room next to a long term tenant and they were super sketchy. The female smoked outside our room and threw her cigarette butts all over the doorway. My room smelled like cigarettes and bad life decisions lol . They had a big dog who they let poop all over the grass in the front and they didn’t pick it up. It was soooo gross. Make sure you aren’t next to them. (Bldg11) The curtain power to open/close blinds didn’t work neither did the stovetop. I called the office and they sent someone over to pick up the poop, that was good but I had to ask twice & crash out on them. Their TV didn’t work for the last 2 days I was there. It wasn’t them tho it was the provider and we all know that struggle. Good: the layout of the room is awesome, very spacious. The grounds are clean, the pool is being worked on, the area is great very convenient. The staff is very helpful! I felt bad for them having to deal with the crap. I def will be staying here again. I never made it to the breakfast I don’t eat early but wished I had.

the sink in bathrrom could of used a cabinet. Hard to spread out toiletries and no place to place the had towel. There is plenty of room to do that

Rats outside and cockroaches inside the room especially if on the ground floor.

It was clean and quiet. I did not like that there are no elevators. We were on the 3rd floor and to have to walk up and down the stairs with small children and luggage was a little rough.

This property was excellent -- not a "hotel room". It met our needs. Staff very professional and friendly. Appreciate the room being ready a little earlier since we had somewhere to be by the normal check in time. Will definitely stay at Sonesta ES Suites next time we're in the area. N/A

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. The room was super clean which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was pretty good, and there was plenty of parking. They do charge $10 per day for parking though. The kitchen in the room was big with lots of room for cooking. I liked how the bedroom was separate like a 1 bedroom apartment. Great place to stay. I'd definitely stay here again.

they charged me a fee for smoking when nobody smoked in the room or anywhere close to the room.
- 3/5
There were many pre existing damages within the room which led to underlying worry of getting wrongfully charged for. Ultimately I wasnt but it definitely went against being able to fully relax during my stay. Also there was a box of condoms left in the drawer in one of the bedrooms where my children slept in which is disgusting. Right in plain sight which means the cleaning service was lousy. I got a room with a kitchen and the stove was half broken and very little kitchen ware to work with. Would have been okay if it was communicated to at least bring your own. Normally hotels with kitchens offer all the amenities to accommodate it. Wasn't a horrible stay but I definitely wont go back here.

When I arrived I was greeted and sent to my room. Where I parked there was a strange white van - beat up - paint worn off, and a man sitting in it.. staring. I sat in my car for a while as I did not feel comfortable getting out in the dark and rain, to be kidnapped. He eventually left. I immediately ran to my room and upon entering the room, the smell was horrific.. it was damp, dark, and smelled like someone died. It was so bad, they had an ozone machine in there going. I left. I told the front desk, i was not staying there and immediately booked another room on Hotels.com.
- 4/5
They kept saying I didn't pay online n I didn't sleep due to customer service not fixing the issue
- 3.5/5
The owners/management should work to have the carpets cleaned or replaced. There were too many stains (dirt, wine, blood, etc)
- 5/5
Check in was awesome, I drove 6 hours north and got there 4 1/2 hueay and they hooked me up with an early check in so I could get some rest. Room was awesome. They are like little apartments. I’ve stay at one in SoCal also. The all seem to be very nice.
- 5/5
They are very very nice
- 4/5
Plenty of door dash options, very clean, nice gym, pool was closed but it looked nice. Drivable options close by an airport down the street
- 3/5
Very roomy. The pool was down for maintenance. Neighborhood was safe but some homeless with their RVs were around. Breakfast was very basic.

Our stay this weekend was wonderful. The hotel was very clean and quiet on the second story. It was basically a little house which made it feel like a home away from home. Special thanks to Mark and Reinah at the front desk for being super welcoming and helpful. They made the experience much better! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a cozy clean stay and helpful staff.
- 1/5
The carpet was covered in animal feces and urine. I was getting bit by either fleas or bed bugs. Didn’t stay longer than 4hrs and checked out of a planned 2 day stay. My son had a serious allergic reaction to something in the room and had to leave after an hour in the room. Hotel have not issued a refund. Still waiting. Room was not regularly vacuumed, found eye lashes and numerous unknown objects in the carpet. Hotel said every room is pet friendly. Which was not written on the website or was not mentioned when I checked in. Unfortunately the remodel rooms are with carpet so that means every room has the same potential of being left with urine , feces and fleas from animals. So if you have allergies be aware.

Breakfast was fresh and there were many options!

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. You can tell the hotel does a good job maintaining their rooms because everything felt fresh and organized when I walked in. I especially appreciated how quiet and relaxing it was, which made it easy to unwind after a long day. Another thing I liked was how smooth everything felt overall, from check-in to just coming and going during my stay. Sometimes little details make a big difference, and this place definitely delivered on that. Overall, I had a really positive stay and would absolutely come back again if I’m in the San Jose area. If you’re looking for a place near the airport that’s clean, comfortable, and has genuinely friendly staff, I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

DECEIVING ! The pics make this hotel look fantastic. The rooms are newly renovated and very nice… BUT the type of guests this place attracts are trashy. I stayed here for business for 3 days. I had late nights and early mornings. The first 2 nights were ok. But the 3rd night when I pulled into the parking lot, there was a crowd of people smoking weed. Obvious walking around. Then between the hours of 10 PM and 1 AM I had to call the front office three times because there were a group of really loud 18-year-olds running up and down the stairs and pounding on the floor above me. I couldn’t sleep and was very irritated. It took me asking the front desk if I needed to call the police to fix the issue for them to finally resolve the issue. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN !

- 5/5
Great staff, location and suites are fantastic. Just what we needed for a family trip.

The area surrounding the property did not seem safe. We were awakened at 1:30am with what sounded like a domestic dispute in the room downstairs from us.

Property is very calm and you really feel like you’re in your own apartment! Very clean too
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious. Had great sleep too.

The breakfast was good. But although I got there early, I couldn't get eggs (they run out of them early and didn't cook more) I'd stay in this place again in my next visit to San Jose.

The toilet wasn’t working in the first room we got we had to switch over to a room at almost 12 AM at night. The second room had cockroaches. There were two cockroaches in the kitchen and two in the bedroom. The hotel needs better maintenance.

- 3/5
My biggest gross out was the roach problem. We stayed 3 days. Everyday we saw small roaches. Older rooms, dated. Patchy fixes like door handles don’t bother me as much as the homeless people living around the hotel property and parking lot. I also paid for my cousins room as he was visiting from overseas. I was kinda embarrassed we chose this hotel. Staff was super friendly tho, I don’t blame them. They were extremely helpful and attentive. they can’t control all these hotel problems. That’s a management issue.

Mark was an amazing staff at the front desk, helpful, courteous, funny, after a long drive day, he was a breath of fresh! The room was very clean and spacious, there was so much room for a family of 5 and so happy for the 2 in room bathrooms!

- 3/5
Surprised when I got there that there is a $15 per night charge for parking. Had I known upfront I might’ve gone with a different hotel considering I chose this hotel because it was a little more affordable, ended up being more. Also a car was outside honking erratically early morning hours, and no one told them a thing.

Room was clean, the exterior needed some clean up. Front desk was courteous.

We had a great stay! Second time staying here.

I reserved this room for my daughter in law and my grandson. They woke up in the middle of the night with cockroaches crawling on them!
- 2/5
Our 1st room the bed was infested with fleas. The sheets most couldn’t have been cleaned. We asked to switch rooms. Because our clothes were already worn, we were sitting on the bed. The fleas got on our clothes and we had the same somewhat of an issue in the next room that we got we did not have any dogs with us.
- 2/5
I stayed at Sonesta San Jose from Nov 26–28, and the room had not been cleaned at all. There were clumps of hair on the floor, and it was clear the vacuuming hadn’t been done. I also found a vaping device between the pillow and headboard, and the disposal was broken. Overall, a very disappointing stay.
- 4/5
Staff great, breakfast was nice!
- 5/5
Clean; renovated. Only thing that makes it look bad is all the campers/RV encampments outside the inn. Otherwise, it’s clean and renovated and I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
This location is surrounded by homeless encampments. They’re camping in the adjacent parking lots so they make the area sketchy.
- 4/5
Nice place and staff. The homeless surrounding the area and the loud rap music and marijuana at 9:00am was not enjoyable

It’s my second time to book this hotel. Always my choice in SJ for good price for an ample space 2 bedroom suite, good breakfast and parking is not a problem.

It had 2 separate bedrooms.Very comfortable beds
- 2/5
Hotel was great. It’s always our go to hotel when we are in town, but the neighborhood has become a place for Rv parking/homelessness. I understand sometimes things happens, but it’s becoming a place I may not want to come back to due trash and safety concerns.

years, staying at your hotels multiple times annually, including your sister property just last month. However, this most recent experience was, without question, the worst I have ever had with your brand. From the moment of check-in, I encountered unprofessional and dismissive behavior- a complete lack of hospitality. When I reached my roon, there was garbage and food waste outside the door, being rummaged through by squirrels. This was not only unsightly but unsanitary. Ironically, I had just been told by the manager that housekeeping was "doing a phenomenal job." That could not have been further from the truth. That first night, the air conditioning in our room was broken. Move to a new room but AC still broken. This stay was an absolute disaster. I paid for a comfortable and professional hotel experience but instead, I endured broken amenities, noise disturbances, poor cleanliness, and a total lack of customer service. It is unacceptable that no one on property or afterward took ownership of these failures. Parties were thrown 10/30+10/31 the noise had us up all night, nothing was done. The manager, Mark was supposed to call me- NEVER did.

Was more like an apartment than a hotel. Very clean and spacious. Super comfortable bed. Cable. Living room and kitchen were nice. Will be my go to hotel chain moving forward.

I enjoyed my stay.
- 1/5
They charge you $10 for parking, the whole area is surrounded by homelessness and dirt.
- 2/5
Our first morning there, the power went out. So, the breakfast was cold and the pancake machine was useless. There was a toenail on the floor near the bed, 2 brown stains (possibly feces) on the bathroom door. The whole property was surrounded by homeless. The front desk staff was nice, but I will never stay there again.
- 5/5
Very good
- 2/5
They were loud at night and it felt unsafe going back to the hotel in the evenings. Rooms were ok but the carpets were very dirty and needed vaccuming. There was a roach in my room (i guess because it was on the ground floor?) So i asked to be moved to another room. They never offered me any compensation. They never cleaned the rooms in 3 days. They never asked whether i wantes the rooms to be cleaned or if i needed towels. Staff was weird. They spoke English well but just seemed like they didnt want to be there. Breakfast was bad. Coffee was bad. I would not recommend this hotel and if i wasnt there for a conference and busy i would have made a biggee deal. I honestly feel that i should not be paying for my stay there. I will be contacting management.
- 3/5
Overall good budget hotel. I found few insects in the room. So more cleaning & pest control is needed.
- 2/5
They didn't bring the towels, they didn't take the trash out of the room, very bad
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
The staff was nice and helpful but I believe more help is needed during the breakfast time as the food would run out and the supplies were out. Also, the food area needed to be cleaned and with 1 employee working, it wasn't enough to get everything done. The company needs to hire more personal for the breakfast hours. Overall, the property was nice and the rooms were clean.
- 1/5
Leo was nice but the facilities were mediocre and not well kept. There is also a large houseless population staying around the hotel as well, so someone should try to help them. We tried to help them too.
- 2/5
no elevator...
- 4/5
The hotel overall was good. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean. The only two issues were the homeless living along the street in front of the hotel and the pool is under maintenance.
- 4/5
Breakfast had a good spread. Good for long stay as the place has a kitchen and dishwasher.,
- 5/5
Great property
- 4/5
A few things that I didn’t like was the area around the hotel had many RVs parked with people living in them, none of the people living there caused any trouble but it made the area look dirty and feel a lil uneasy. The hotel also failed to mention that their pool/jacuzzi area was out of service, which made me very upset because I had planned to swim during my stay. Overall, the price and the suite size was a 10! Would stay again, when the pool is fixed.
- 2/5
We got the 2 bedroom with 2 bathroom, living room and full kitchen suite. The room itself was nice and roomy, but the cleanliness was sub par, the location is absolutely awful (literally a homeless encampment outside) and the grounds were icky also. As far as the cleanliness of the room, there was a used bar of soap left by housekeeping from a previous guest, black hair in one tub, and fingerprints all over the fridge. Not to mention one fork only in the silverware drawer. Outside our room was a dirty band aide and we saw 2 used condoms on our way from our room to breakfast. The pool was murky looking and under construction. The homeless encampment is very off putting and something I assume management could and should call the city to report it to in an attempt to have it relocated. One of the homeless folks parked their car in the hotel lot and was going back and forth from their trailer to the car right by our car and room. We felt unsafe overall. Additionally, there is no elevator, which was fine for us as we are able bodied and can drag our bags up flights of stairs but this is was not notes on the hotels description. The no pool and no elevator alone should lower the price to stay here. Lastly, $250 for a safety deposit is about 2-3 times what typical places charge. Just stay somewhere else.
- 1/5
The pool was in terrible condition—green and clearly unsanitary. The beds had a horrible smell, making it impossible to rest comfortably. To make matters worse, the front desk staff were unfriendly and unwilling to take responsibility for the many issues we encountered.
- 1/5
There was no where to park our truck and car that we were towing. the streets were lined with homeless trailers. we were so uneasy that we did not even check in.
- 5/5
The rooms are very nice. Very comfortable and clean. Just my luck had crazy neighbors both times. It was horrible. First one was a couple and they were fighting really bad that everything we were able to hear. I had my family with me so it was horrible. I don’t fight in front of my kids. So my babies were scared. Second night we got teens that came in and it was horrible again. They were jumping and throwing each other in the walls. You could hear them. Fighting in there. It was 3am and they woke me up with all the yelling. It was just horrible. Other than that it was good.

I had a business trip that I brought my family on. This place was the worst experience ever. I chose it for the large space for comfort. The room was infested with roaches. I left feeling sick to my stomach. Had to pack up my family and find another place last minute. While the staff were nice, the place was disgusting and the overall quality was terrible.

Comfortable, spacious, clean rooms. Convenient parking options. Very limited and mediocre buffet breakfast food options. Terrible, inattentive service at buffet breakfast. Badly organized space at breakfast. Very little moving room. Mediocre front desk service. Very disappointing! Highly avoidable!
- 5/5
Lots of space for the family. Love that the kitchenette had dishes!
- 5/5
Very close to all the offices in the area. Since this is in a business district, becomes deserted in the evening and weekends. They have a two bedroom option which I did not find in the area or is over $400 per night. Very nice and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Excellent room space and value when traveling with a family.
- 4/5
Everything was great, except I got overcharged. The invoice says I have been credited. However, my bank account shows it as a transaction, not a deposit. This has been a giant headache. I wanted to return. But I cancelled out of fear the same might happen again. The staff is awesome.
- 1/5
This hotel is very old and dirty.
- 3/5
Rooms were great. Lots of room and comfortable beds. Staff welcomed us each time we went in and out! The pool was under maintenance and we wanted to use that, so it was a bummer for us. Breakfast was good. We had unwelcome “friends” in our room and reported it and nothing was done. Pay for parking, but there are people living in vans and campers inside and outside the parking lot. Fire alarm went off 3 times, one at 6:30AM!
- 3/5
It just seemed that the location was in a bad portion of town & there was a person complaining about a robbery in their room when we arrived. Just not a great feeling about the place.
- 5/5
Stay was good. Breakfast was stranded fare but filling.
- 4/5
Good home away from home for 3 weeks. Couple hiccups with the disposal and dishwasher but the staff was all over it!

- 2/5
Wouldn’t recommend staying here
- 1/5
Horrible. It was 80 in the room when we entered and the stove, tv, and counter were broken.
- 3/5
I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and, although the front‑desk staff were consistently polite. But unfortunately my stay was marred by serious housekeeping and maintenance problems: the first room I was given was clearly uncleaned, and after I was moved to the second one, a homeless man tried to climb in through my window on the very first night. I moved to third suite; both the second and third suites had leaking dishwashers, the third flood was worse and the appliance was never repaired despite my immediate report. Housekeeping serviced the room only once in thirteen nights. Also breakfast was exactly the same every single morning.
- 4/5
Beds were full size so not enough space to have my husband and myself sleep in one bed, bathrooms were so small had to keep the door open to handle business kept hitting the glass shower door from toilet
- 1/5
The hotel is or was under some type of renovation but they failed to actually fix anything. I would refer this as a 2 star at best but 1 star sounds just about right. The stove did not work nor did the microwave. Not to mention the mattress. By far the worst mattress I have experienced as a motel 6 mattress would have been a significant upgrade. Now let’s dive into the microwave not working nor the stove. When I asked them about it and if there was a way to fix it the response I received was, “ ohh so sorry sir, maybe next time we can fix that.” Excuse me but there won’t be a next time. Save your money guys it’s not worth the charge.

I got there and they were over sold and didn't have a room for me. I had the confirmation, but still no luck. Never had that happen to me before. Won't go back ever to that hotel or that chain.

The staff from management across the board are very professional and attend to your needs above and beyond during your stay.

I would definitely check back in when I'm in San Jose.

Comfortable and quiet. Rooms clean and relaxing. A true suite not just a bed and a fold out.

I always like the Sonesta brand. This locale is no exception. The front desk staff is exceptional and the rooms are spacious and plush (as in fluffy and comfortable). I only did not like the TV selections as there was no guide and no option to access your own subscriptions on the provided devices.

It was a very clean and spacious room

Great rooms.we had our own bedrooms and bedrooms with a full size kitchen and living room. Very clean. Beds are very comfortable.

The rooms are nice but my window look right at the homeless encampment

There was an issue with the reservation but we got a 2 bedroom suite instead of 2 1 bedrooms. The room was great, comfortable and mostly quiet. Quick drive to the airport and very good breakfast included.

The area good but I didn’t like how they charge for parking even tho we had book the hotel. And the security deposit was too high. 260$ I had the money save for the trips but we couldn’t go anywhere because the security deposit. So we still at the hotel all day

Room was newly renovated, staff was very nice and had extra towels. The property even has security on patrol at night.

Noises coming from the air conditioner made it sound like someone was in the room which kept me up all night. The people camping out front on the street was unsightly.

An apartment away from home. We love Sonesta. Spacious and convenient. The grounds are well kept and the units are renovated. Excellent choice.

2bedroom 2 bath was nice size. Bathrooms are tiny. Clean. Surrounding area seemed a little sketchy. Would stay again.

I really liked the helpfulness of the staff! So accommodating! I loved the triple locks in the doors! I loved the fully furnished, updated suite and full kitchen. I loved the security in every part of the property. The complimentary breakfast buffet was full of options. I’d love the coffee bar being opened with cream and sugar all day would be a real plus!! I’ll only stay here when I come see my daughter!

Excellent

It has home like accommodations and a nice chain from the standard hotel chain.

The property felt like home away from home. The staff was great. Very little noise, comfortable bed and blackout curtains made sleep easy.

The rooms are nice and comfortable. Renovations were still going on outside, but the room was already renovated. Our family was concerned for our safety on the day we checked in. There is a homeless encampment across the street and some strange people walking around on the hotel property. The hotel did have a security guard on duty at night.

Wonderful stay, several things not working due to construction, but overall it was wonderful.

We were very disappointed overall with our stay. While the room was clean and comfortable, the pool was out of order as was the exercise room. Instead of breakfast being extended to 10 a.m. on the weekend like most other places I have stayed, it ended at 9 a.m. In addition, I was trying to call the hotel to ask if we could check in early and I ended up in an endless loop. I was able to talk to agents who gave me instructions to reach the front desk that continuously got me back where I started. I finally got the the hotel where I was told that they had lost power and would be unable to allow me to check in because they couldn't access their system. It just felt like there should be something they should be able to do. In addition, there is an RV parked right across from the hotel with all kinds of junk piled on and around. It's clearly a homeless individual who has taken up residence. I would not stay here again.

The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. Stove, silverware, and glassware made staying here very convenient.

Raenah was an excellent front desk host. She was warm, inviting, and professional. The room was spotless and parking was a breeze. I absolutely will stay here again. Thank you so much for your exemplary service.

My wife left valuables in our room and did not realize this until 3 hours after checkout. We called the front desk, and their service team had found and saved the items for us. We were very relieved and grateful to the staff at Sonesta for their professionalism.

The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious with two bedrooms and a kitchen. The room was clean but due to renovation there was a few ants which wasnt a problem. One minor issue was housekeeping walked into the room 3 times prior to checkout to try and clean the room. Overall, nice room and staff, I would stay again.

Traveled to the Sonesta in San Jose. The hotel was in a very quiet location. I booked a two room suite. It was very nice with two bathrooms and a small kitchen. Surprised to see a full refrigerator and dishes. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Cons: They had a grab and go breakfast with yogurt which made me sick. Front door of room would not close properly.
