Saratoga Oaks Lodge
About Saratoga Oaks Lodge
Saratoga on the western edge of the Santa Clara Valley is a calm oasis removed from the bustle of the Silicon Valley. The nearby Mountain Winery hosts a variety of world class artists during the summer concert series. Villa Montalvo is also the venue for many concerts plays and social events. We are at the gateway to the scenic Santa Cruz mountain communities of Felton Ben Lomond Boulder Creek and the majestic Big Basin Redwood State Park. Beyond lie the Pacific Ocean cities of Santa Cruz Carmel and Monterey. The Lodge is a smoke-free establishment.

The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. What seems to be just a sweet motel is so much more! The room is beautiful, has a refrigerator, small freezer, microwave oven, Keurig machine, luxurious towels and bedding, high quality bath amenities in a spacious shower, and many choices for breakfast, including fresh fruit, baked goods, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. I really wished I could have spent at least one more night.
- 5/5
Terrific location in downtown Saratoga, very friendly stuff and lots to do nearby. I have stayed before and gone to the mountain winery events, very easy parking and pleasant stay.
- 5/5
My of three reserved the king suite with sleeper sofa and private patio. The space worked well for our different sleep schedules and we enjoyed eating our takeout dinner on our private patio. The Japanese toilet in our room was a nice surprise. The property overall seems relaxing with lots of leafy garden areas.

This is definitely an old style motel type property, one employee at the desk, outdoor entrances. The room was definitely small, but included a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. The carpet definitely needs replacing and the entire room could use a refurbishing. There were quite a few ants we noticed upon arrival, but nothing major. We were allowed to check in early and check out late with no fee which was great. We only stayed one night. The bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure, but like everything I feel the place could use a refresh. Also, the price while probably reasonable for the area, seemed high for the product. Skip the free breakfast and walk to town.
- 3/5
The bad - Carpet in our room was old and dirty, we didn’t feel comfortable walking on it barefoot. Decor is dated. Low end bathroom feels like you are in a cheap motel. Continental breakfast and coffee are not good, no effort to provide anything nice, can’t get a decent coffee. Overall this place is too pricey for what you get, It is located in a very nice neighborhood, and the website and pricing suggest it is a higher end boutique hotel. The level of quality doesn’t match, a missed opportunity in my opinion, I won’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Very nice, quiet and pretty little hotel. Parking right in front of the room. Room was clean and comfortable. There is a free breakfast, but I went out in town instead. Staff was helpful after I left. I had left my prescription glasses in the room. They were found, and will be sent to me. I appreciate it. Hotel is close to places in town.

Parking is easy..short walk to restaurants...great place to stay for concerts at the winery
- 4/5
Cute hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was walkable to a bunch of restaurants and shops.
- 5/5
Unit 25 was a large upgraded room; if you get it, enjoy! Large room, Jacuzzi tub and separate shower that was well lit, bidet toilet that auto opens/close and flushes, a small porch with a cafe table in the morning sun. Mind you, the overall Lodge is still a remodeled motel, so there is some charm in its layout. They’ve done a nice job with the grounds near the back of the property and to make it feel comfortable and well appointed. Continental breakfast is pretty standard stuff, but staff were nice and welcoming and check in and out was easy.

Staff was wonderful The rooms were clean. I would definitely stay there again!

Hard to find, but worth staying in a quiet location away from the Silicon Valley hustle. Rooms were simple and clean, no complaints.

Otherwise Rooms were nice, bed was comfy. Parking lot was small but accessible and easy to park. Great location for Saratoga and the Japanese garden right nearby.

Breakfast was simple but great for a quick meal to get you going. There were a few folks that were a bit loud, but it didn't last long. I liked it and will return.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and comfortable. Lots of lighting, desk to work on and comfy. Bed was hard but the office gave me a comforter that softened it up and slept well. Nice touches such as a clock, small desk lamp, big vanity. Air conditioning worked well and didn’t blow on the bed like some other hotels.

Some of the caulking around the bathtub needs to be replaced. Although not really fault of the Hotel, it was raining and the noise off the skylight was quite loud! Also lost power and had to shower in the dark.

The complex is beautiful, staff were super friendly. Our room was clean, we had no issues with our stay. We would suggest planning breakfast elsewhere though, as the selections were minimal. Otherwise, amazing stay!

Room was clean and comfortable and the location is great. Only two complaints -- bathroom had no shelf space to put toiletries, etc. and few bars/hooks to hang towels or robes. And breakfast was really disappointing, despite some positive reviews. There were bagels and English muffins for a toaster that didn't seem to work, plus one croissant. They had yogurts, oatmeal packets, grocery store pastries, and some fruit, and that was about it. I've seen better "Continental breakfasts" at cheap motels. Way below par for a fairly pricey lodging.

The Oak Lodge is one of the two lodging facilities in town. I stay here because I was attending a concert at the Mountain Winery. Only to miles away. The room is very comfortable as it is the bed and pillows. There is a Keutoh machine in the room but no coffee pods were provided. The front office staff were great. Very polite,helpful.. I would come back.

We’ve stayed here a couple times now & will definitely come back. We were in a 1st floor unit of the two story section & could hear heavy footed customers above us. So we’ll probably request single story section next visit. Other than that, the stay was excellent.

Second stay here. We live nearby, but stayed due to home renovations, so I can vouch that it’s a very safe, walkable area, with great restaurants and shops, although most places close quite early, including many places stop serving dinner at 8 or 9 PM. I enjoy this cozy lodge. It’s not luxurious, but it’s quite comfortable, quiet, and peaceful and the staff are always very helpful. I think this is a far better alternative to similar “lodge” properties in Los Gatos and overall, given the price and all things considered, I prefer it to the nicer, but more expensive property a block away.

Mother daughter get away birthdays celebration. Quiet corner room. Simple continental breakfast that had to be taken to room or eaten outside, but too chilly in April. Would be nice to have a table in room to eat breakfast. HVAC not intuitive - too cold first night, too hot the second night. Fun watching birds, hummingbirds, and squirrels eat food they provided around big oak tree. Great restaurants within easy walking distance.
- 4/5
This was a really comfortable stay! The room and bed were more comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the breakfast. We were shocked to find a steam room as part of the shower! Great location and reasonable price.

I was with my 84 year old mother to attend a memorial service in town. The hotel was a great location. We had the accessible unit which was large and clean. Highly recommend as you can walk to many great restaurants and the hotel has parking which is a huge plus.

Great stay, (other than the sink faucet barely trickling out water). Staff has been wonderful the 2/2 times I've stayed. Good variety of on the go breakfast items, too!
- 5/5
Lovely place and very sweet town.
- 4/5
continental breakfast is good....pastries and fruit and coffee. orange, juice , milk....bagels, ect. close to all restaurants and wine tasting rooms
- 4/5
Nice surroundings and petty quiet considering how booked the property was. The parking lot can be a bit tricky to maneuver depending on where you park, but do-able with patience. Good grab and go breakfast selections, too.
- 5/5
- 4/5
pretty setting
- 5/5
my favorite place when in the area. Some minor, quirky things with the rooms which make it fun and interesting ie sink outside of the bathroom. Some minor repairs, ie crank tile, caulking, trim, and baseboards. Minor, and noticeable only if you are looking.
- 5/5
quiet, beautiful rich area
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Walkable to downtown. Great location. Love the tub! Would definitely recommend!
- 3/5
Friendly greeting upon arrival. Room was large and except for the carpet was very clean. I had one major issue. Woke up to no water pressure in shower. This was a huge problem given I had a major event to attend.
- 5/5
Neat hotel in downtown Saratoga, gooood!
- 5/5
The hotel is a great place to stay. It is a nice area with many options for eating.
- 5/5
Spectacular staff on a fun street. Felt very safe. Lots of yummy complementary treats for breakfast. I went to a concert and stayed there- definitely my new go to when going to the mountain winery
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Friendly staff. Fair price. It’s in a great area, what else do you need? Perfect location for anyone looking to explore the various attractions along highway 9 or just to drive highway 9 itself.
- 5/5
Comfortable little bungalow or suite with fireplace/balcony. Bed was super plush. Quality towels; not scratchy. Already planning a trip back there during a better time of year.
- 5/5
Nice staff and quiet property. It's in a kind of touristy area, so plenty of food choices nearby.
- 5/5
Front desk was very accommodating to adjust my booking to my advantage. Very quiet and safe. A bit dated but very clean. I could hear people walking in the room above me late into the night and early morning so I recommend asking for a room on the second floor or rooms on the side which is only one floor.
- 3/5
Very disappointed in a large suite that does not have a TV in the bedroom. I honestly did not know that was an option. Left the hotel as I can not sleep with out a TV to fall asleep too :(
- 4/5
Former car drive-in lodge. Old rooms are just OK. Ours had a noisy fan. Moved to a better, newer room and it was nice.
- 5/5
Excellent location in Saratoga. Room very spacious and well kept. Quite comfortable.
- 5/5
Love the Saratoga Oaks Lodge. The greenery is most calming, the rooms clean, the neighborhood is quiet and quite walkable with numerous good restaurants nearby, and the staff super friendly. So much better than a Cookie Cutter Holiday Inn, etc.

It's in a small, super quiet town. This charming hotel has some of the best views California has to offer. It's centrally located, we went to Monterey bay, San Jose amd San Francisco bay area from here. There are several tasting room within walking distance as well as restaurants and coffee shops.

I had stayed here 10 years ago and returned to this lodge because of it's location and service. I was able to get an early check in. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful with info and directions.

The hotel is very cute and the staff is great but the room was terribly dated and shabby. We had a King Suite and the carpets were stained, the bathroom seemed unclean just because it was old and beat up although I am sure the housekeeping staff cleaned it. The roll out bed was awful and old and it needs to be replaced in an awful way. The room had no personality when it could be so cute! It was very expensive for what it was. Plus is that it was close to the mountain winery. With some help it could be a great spot but right now I can’t recommend.

One of the best hotels ever. Staff was super friendly and professional. The room was over the top awesome. Loved the steam room shower.

This hotel is in a great spot. Easy walk to many great restaurants. A great place to stay for concerts at the winery.

Great location! Friendly and helpful staff. Not the property's fault, but we managed to drive right past it and delayed our arrival.
