Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location, friendly staff, and good breakfast. However, parking is a common issue, with many guests finding it limited, expensive, and inconvenient. Some guests also experienced issues with noise and room cleanliness.

Staff was very friendly. It was very clean and breakfast was very yummy.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
Bathroom is outdated and not shareable so if you come with your partner manage your time well because aint no way yall can get ready at the same time comfortably. Food is good. I ordered a burger and chicken Ceaser salad and was satisfied. The bar attendant was great. But their 24 hr market sucks as far as snacks and drinks. The breakfast was good, eggs runny but all basic breakfast necessities were provided Check in was great. There was a weirdo doing something on the side while I was checking in and the employee made sure to discreetly give me my room number without saying it or the floor out loud. The parking is detached and key card entry only so I felt safe. $45/night for parking is excessive BUT its kept up well and VERY clean. Location is walkable to a lot of restaurants and coffee shops. Would not stay here again because of how loud it is in the room.

Great downtown hotel located next to The Civic. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast had a variety of options.

Loved it
- 4/5
The property was great and I enjoyed my room. The food options are limited and weren't very good, in my opinion.
- 5/5
You do need a room key to operate the elevator and parking is a charge. Just a heads up. This was a 5 minute walk from downtown. We have a lovely time.
- 4.5/5
Quiet, nice decor, comfortable bed No room service for food but really nit a big deal

- 4/5
Staff were extremely helpful. While parking was expensive, it was in a well protected and safe garage.
- 4.5/5
Excellent location ! Close to San Jose down town snd right across the sweet to San Jose center of performing art. The room is nice and with a tv and sofa, like a small living room. The bed is super comfortable. I also like the breakfast bar. It’s so hard to find the entrance of the hotel ! They should really make the sign more obvious. It’s in a very small lane, so easy to miss ! There no restaurant in the hotel, Theres a small bar with food service but very limited item and hours. Theres no swimming pool, but Theres a gym that’s 24 hours.

Breakfast was so so. Not a great variety. Lack of fresh fruit. There were some old looking oranges and apples but bananas were not available on the second day. There were no vegetables except salty cut up fried potatoes. Bread was not fresh.

GREAT STAY
- 5/5
The convince of the downtown area!!!
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff!
- 3/5
Extensive breakfast that's complimentary and they give you a bottle of water in your room. A quick walk from the convention center, and other downtown amenities. The hotel is on the flight path for the SJC airport and the walls are thin so you will here airplane and door slamming noises. The room itself was fine, but three items needed tending to. I told the staff and they seems genuinely concerned about fixing them.
- 5/5
The complimentary breakfast had an impressive variety of food, and was very well kept. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was professional and friendly.
- 5/5
This was in downtown San Jose. Easy to access from any direction. The hotel and the surrounding area was clean. It was next to the convention center. We checked in during weekend and the streets barely had cars in them. The staffs were friendly. Breakfast was nice with scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns, oatmeal, coffees, 3 varieties of milk, croissants, bagels, and pastries. The garage was accessible only to guests by elevator using the hotel card. To get the car in and out of the garage , you will have to go thru a huge commercial rolling door. Basically, no one can access that garage unless you are a guess or affiliated with the hotel. It cost me $45 for the 24-hour garage privileges. This parking fee was normal in that area. My $50 hotel deposit was credited back to my card the day after I checked out. Will come back again if I had a function to attend to in downtown San Jose.
- 5/5
Quality service from the staff at all levels. Well maintained breakfast area. The secure parking garage was nice. Easy check in process room was spotless
- 5/5
Breakfast was actually really good and had something new each morning before we went out to explore. The room itself was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. We were on the same side as the train and the first night I did hear some airplanes over head and I had to get used to the train bell outside but the room had a sound machine to help with that and by the second night I was almost just used to it and really didn’t mind it. The hotel is pet friendly and really accommodating. We would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and ready to help. Room was affordable and clean. Continental breakfast was wonderful. The reason I could not rate a 5 star review was because of how difficult it was to find the actual parking garage/parking lot for this facility. The bed and the pillows in the rooms were horrible. My sleep there was not very restful because of how uncomfortable the bed and pillows were
- 5/5
5/5. Very clean, friendly staff! Will stay again!
- 4/5
Good Hotel and staff was welcoming. , very close to many events downtown, no need to drive. Parking is expensive, good quality continental breakfast.
- 5/5
Always stay here when I’m in town. It’s clean, the staff is very knowledgeable, and the beds are super comfy. Also close to a lot of cool stuff
- 3/5
The location was great. However the is a $45 parking fee if you want to park in the hotel. We parked on a near street parking lot for $7 flat rate. The complementary breakfast was great, great variety of breakfast options and it was clean and pleasant environment. The hotel looks old and outdated. It could used a remodeling to keep up with the hight rates per night. We are definitely not staying here again.
- 5/5
Convenient and clean for downtown
- 5/5
yes I love it
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Great location and great breakfast offered.
- 5/5
I absolutely loved this place. The breakfast was really good and already included in the room price.
- 4/5
I loved the size of the room. Queen size bed and a couch lounge area very good. Location was great. You can walk to The Tech, San Pedro marketplace, the convention center and resturants all over. Light rail was also just a block away. They also had a fantastic breakfast with anything you wanted. A major dislike was you need to bring your own media to watch TV. I don't have Hulu or Netflix so I was regulated to Pluto TV on my own device. That was a pain. Also parking was $45 a night, so we parked in a SJ Parking lot for $20 overnight. The staff were accomodating but seemed a little put off by the rules of the company. My girlfriend didn't like how it played out, but if you are alone it's an excellent place. I would only stay with a family for the breakfast.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful place. Can't wait until our next trip to stay again.
- 5/5
Good breakfast, nice big room
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Great location, nice breakfast
- 5/5
Breakfast was incredible and staff was super friendly
- 5/5
We stayed here for 2 days and i noticed a few reviews that had me questioning my decision in booking it. But it was better than i expected. Small issues were the ice machines not working and the one in the lobby was empty. The elevators were so slow we have to take the stairs that lead outside behind the hotel. The positive were the rooms were clean, they gave us water bottles when we checked in and the breakfast was SO GOOD. So many options for their continental breakfast that was restaurant tasting. The staff were really friendly especially when we checked in. Location was amazing we had a show at SJ improv and holo holo. Both were very short walks. We would stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing! Staff super kind!
- 5/5
Nice hotel and friendly staff. Centrally located.
- 5/5
Breakfast selection was great, room cleanliness was superb.
- 5/5
Great staff. Breakfast was fresh and amazing.
- 5/5
Room. Breakfast and staff are above normal. Thank you
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was good as usual. The only gripe I have with this location is the parking garage price. $45 is steep so definitely check reviews and look at full amenities before booking.
- 2/5
we stayed there for one week and AC wasn’t working the whole stay and they didn’t transfer us to a different room. Mind you that we have two toddlers!
- 5/5
Breakfast was decent. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
All the staff we encountered were super friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was clean and cozy. The seating area was perfect for winding down before bed. The breakfast bar was extensive and replenished regularly. The location is ideal for walking to all downtown SJ has to offer and is close to VTA if traveling farther out. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- 5/5

It was a great day. Everything was clean. The staff was great. Nick was accommodating. The rest of the staff was also accommodating breakfast bar was amazing so definitely will stay there again and it was walking distance to the venue so it was perfect. Thank you.
- 3/5
It’s a basic hotel that’s all
- 5/5
Very nice staff and clean room.
- 5/5
Always love staying here. Clean, upscale feeling. Great bar, breakfast. The rooms are nice. Love the size and the couch that can be used as an extra sleeping area. Large lobby area. Great walking distance to down town. Parking is insanely expensive compared to other hotels in the area. This is the only reason we don’t stay here all the time. This trip the manager gave us comped parking and it seriously made our stay feel so special. We were in town for a hockey tournament on Easter and they made our holiday stay feel very special. Would definitely recommend. Just wish nightly parking fee was not so outrageous.
- 5/5
The breakfast menu was fabulous..The front desk people were very helpful and Kind.. we had a great stay...Only thing was no pool..
- 3/5
Breakfast was decent. Unfortunately we had a room 518 which had a trolley or something running outside so we would hear the bell toll quite often which was annoying. Otherwise everything was good.
- 5/5
Didn’t eat breakfast or went to the bar.
- 5/5
Great Staff / Clean Room
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing with a great variety of options. Truly excellent service from start to finish.
- 3/5
Staff was great but for the price a night I was expecting a better room
- 5/5
Great breakfact
- 4/5
Usual American industrial food
- 4/5
Room in general was clean but I did find some remnant hairs in the shower. Otherwise it was clean. PS we also bring our own Clorox wipes to give things a clean as well. Staff was the best part! Super helpful. Kind of a funny/ weird moment but I had asked for ice in my thermos and the gentleman at the front desk poured the ice as though he only had only a few ice cubes left lol

Clean room , great staff , free breakfast , great views
- 5/5
Great location - easy walk to SAP Center and San Pedro Street. Room and Hotel were very clean and the breakfast was great each morning. Very close to the airport and easy walking to all tourist locations.
- 4/5
The breakfast was good and the room was awesome but there wasn’t any ice machines on the residential floors so I had to go down to the lobby. A little annoying but still manageable.
- 4/5
Breakfast was excellent, room was spacious. We were able to check in early for an additional fee. Some features in the room (shower fixture) was worn and you could hear plumbing from other rooms (when they were showering or flushing), but overall it was a great stay for the price. The location was exactly where we needed.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly customer service, amazing free breakfast spread, $45/night parking, gym on sight but didn’t try
- 5/5
I would have loved a pool. The room was beautiful. Location was difficult because of road work and many road closures.
- 5/5
Great cotton towels, glasses and real coffee cups. Awesome breakfast!
- 5/5
The staff was great. I did not use the gym. It is close to attractions downtown. However, the weekend I stayed NVIDIA had an event that caused lots of streets to be blocked off and it was impossible to get an Uber from the hotel and it was hard to find parking near the hotel. This was not the fault of the hotel at all but was an inconvenience that weekend.
- 5/5
I like that it was in near the convention center. Clean and professional
- 3/5
There is no information on the hotel site and or EXPEDIA alerting people to all the construction going on. Finding the entrance was difficult, especially in rush hour. The streets are laid out in a ONE-WAY grid making it very tough if you're not from San Jose and know the street layout.
- 3/5
They still have the popcorn ceiling which is a known health hazard. Also our room is facing the light rail station and it is noisy until very late night. The room is somehow made us very dry and thirsty. I guess it was the a/c too old.
- 5/5
Love the breakfast
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast and clean rooms!
- 5/5
Clean room, good breakfast
- 5/5
We stay every year and it’s always amazing
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Good breakfast
- 5/5
They did not have parking
- 3/5
The rooms are a little old and feel worn and the parking fee is ridiculous, but they do have a great complimentary breakfast and the location is great. Over all it was Ok.
- 5/5
The staff was super nice. The room was very clean and very large.
- 3/5
The rooms need tender loving care. The tub was clogged even after the maintenance staff finished cleaning it out. There was banging from loose pipes in the wall in the early morning. The staff was not very attentive. Not enough outlets for cell phone charging near the beds. We were next to the large recycle bin which was emptied at 630 am un the morning. There was a large crack on the inside of the mini fridge. Toilet was difficult to flush. The ac unit was very loud. At least it did not snell like smoke. We were inroom 230.
- 5/5
Great rooms always
- 5/5
Friendly staffs, room is huge and clean. Food is good. Very convenient location. I will keep coming back to this hotel. Thank you for your service.

Everything was just perfect after a long day of traveling. Wish I could've stayed longer but my time at the hotel was pretty much flawless. Chill staff, great amenities, coming back to my hotel after my day out just felt really cozy and homey. If I come back to SJ I'm definitely staying here again

Pleasant stay at Hyatt Place San Jose Downtown! The hotel is great, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, especially Nick at the front desk. He handled my check-in flawlessly while also bartending — very professional and friendly. Outstanding service! This will definitely be my go-to hotel whenever business or pleasure brings me back to downtown San Jose.

- 5/5

- 5/5
Room was clean and had what was needed for my stay.
- 5/5
The room was spotless. Customer services was excellent.
- 5/5
Great hotel staff. Veronica, receptionist at check in, was extremely helpful & professional. Kudos to her for being very knowledgeable about locations in the area.
- 5/5
Front desk Angela wonderful !
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast
- 4/5
The room the staff are fabulous. The $30 cheeseburger was not no flavor way too expensive for a burger that was gross to be honest.
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean friendly staff
- 2/5
Paid $45 for parking when I checked in. I attended an event the night I checked in and drive my car to the event. When I arrived back at the hotel, there was absolutely no parking left. I drove throughout the parking garage for over an hour. I had to park in a parking garage a mile away and pay an additional $40. This is absolutely unacceptable. Why would you sell so many parking passes that goes over the maximum parking stalls!?! What a scam!
- 4/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
Booking was easy. My room was nice and clean and loved all the amenities. Will be back.
- 2/5
Check-in was great, the staff member there was warm, friendly, and positive, in spite of a bit of a line. The stay was fine, breakfast was great (which is the reason I chose this hotel). But the checkout line this morning was insane and they had only one employee. I even went back up to my room to try and use "express checkout", but it just rang and rang. Back to the 20-person line downstairs. The whole time waiting in line I'm wondering if I NEED to be in this line, but sure enough, since I'm leaving my car for the day while at the conference, they have to give me a DIFFERENT key card so I can get my car later. I understand this was a unique situation, with all of us here for a conference, but is this not a conference center hotel? You should be well prepared and staffed for this. At the very least, better signage and a sign in the lobby about whether or not you can drop your key and leave, would've helped immensely.
- 3/5
Stay was wonderful other than the AC unit leaked water overnight. We found water surrounding the entire thing in the AM after it being on all night
- 5/5
loved the front desk personel
- 4/5
Very clean, free breakfast.

Here are the issues we had there: > There City VTA (Transit Train) was outside our window and the crossing bell for the train would ring three times every 20 mins, ALL NIGHT!!!!! > The bed was really uncomfortable, it was almost like sleeping on plywood with a blanket tossed over it. > The squeaked every time I go up > The bathroom door needs some serious attention, it creaks really loud. > The continental breakfast was one of the worst one I have every had. The Bacon was dry and cold, the bread was not very fresh and the eggs had no flavored, they were obviously powdered.
- 5/5
Friendly check in on an event packed weekend.
- 5/5
This is our go to hotel for when we attend events in downtown SJ. It’s right next to the performing arts and civic center where we usually go to concerts. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but what we really love is the breakfast buffet! Best free breakfast I’ve seen at a hotel in the US. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Parking costs $40 a day, which sounds like a lot but as it is in their very secure structure next door I think it’s worth it for convenience and piece of mind.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent
- 5/5
Great room
- 2/5
The neighborhood was noisy because of the trolley station and many cars were passing by. One of the bath towel had blood sting on it. The mattress that I slept on was making so much noise when i made a move.

We stayed 3 nights. First night tried to call about TV not working. The phone was not working either so had to use my cell phone. Guy came and didn’t fix. Next morning went to front desk to mention the phone, TV and the exhaust fan in bathroom not working. Checked in that afternoon and was assured everything was working. Not true! Will not stay there again.
- 5/5
The breakfast was fresh and maintained, the rooms were clean, and any requests were answered promptly.

- 4/5
Overall I was happy with the room. The room was clean and had very comfortable beds. The seating area was cute and also comfortable. One thing was the shower drain was very very slow to drain. Luckily my cousin and I don’t take very long showers. As a suggestion I recommend that the room doors get some kind of mechanism that slows the door and does not allow it to get slammed, especially for those guests who are very disrespectful or don’t care for the other people who are sleeping because they’re drunk and coming in and out of their rooms slamming the doors. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault at all. It’s guests being disrespectful to other guests. The other thing was the parking. We were there for a concert and so many other guest were as well. It’s a first come first park which is very inconvenient more because it seems to have another level of parking but it was not open to accommodate everyone’s needs. Especially since there’s a parking fee. More than anything the handicap parking was not respected and people who didn’t have the handicapped plates or plaque were parked in those spots making even more inconvenient for someone with the need of those spaces. We were told by the receptionist to just park where we weren’t in the way or blocking anyone but security guard could have our car towed. I liked where the hotel was located to the venue, the cleanliness and comfortable. All staff was very friendly. Parking can definitely be improved.
- 5/5
Room was clean and bed was comfortable

Yes very clean

The front desk staff was great! The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel was also beautifully decorated for the holidays. Checking in and out was easy!

Otter then that great
- 5/5
The employees on the reception were very kind. The room was neat .
- 5/5
Great!
- 1/5
Found large, live bed bugs. Contacted the property and was moved to a worse room due to full capacity. Was not offered a full refund by Hyatt despite trying to work with the property and Expedia. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BED BUGS!!! Absolutely horrendous from a 4-star hotel. Bathroom doors were also old and clanky, not closing properly.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
$45 a night parking fee for already paid room is insane. Walked to the parking garage with friend who parked there and it was so empty. They even closed off a few floors of parking because they don’t have enough people parking there. They would definitely make more money lowering the parking price. Otherwise everything else was great.
- 5/5
Easy check in; comfortable stay; close to downtown
- 5/5
Very clean facilities, free breakfast, comfortable
- 5/5
Place was clean. Staff was helpful. Walking distance to downtown and SAP center
- 4/5
We found that there are cookies crumbs on the sofa when we entered the room.
- 1/5
I like this hotel and I feel bad to give it low amount of stars but I need to warn people do not accept room on second floor. I love being my family. Couldn't have kids like you know. Is that being over here for you or is that going to be there? You know, seems like I know that too but just now but you should and I need to feel like he's not so I set on me clearly You know
- 5/5
I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay over the weekend. The breakfast was good and I took advantage of all the options. I had never had rainforest blend for coffee but I really enjoyed it and I was I grabbed a second cup before I left. Housekeeping staff was kind and greeted us good morning as we walked by and I really appreciated that. The check-in staff was really friendly and helpful and I was able to get my room within an hour of arriving early. This experience has been one of my favorite hotel experiences and if I’m in the area again, I’ll make sure to book here again.
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean. Beds were comfy. Close to the SAP center.
- 5/5
Great stay

Told me and my sister Gloria how to get around in san jose, and if we needed anything during our stay. He was able to assist.
- 4/5
Great Staff, Nice Breakfast.
- 5/5
Clean room and very friendly staff
- 5/5
It was a convenient stay and in the heart of downtown San Jose. Would recommend for others if they’re staying in the area for any future events.
- 5/5
very good service
- 5/5
Everything was really good, the beds are so comfortable and it was very clean
- 5/5
Room was clean and well stocked with towels; location was convenient to downtown attractions and airport; staff was friendly and helpful; secure parking available.
- 2/5
When I arrived to check in, I notified the service desk that I booked online and that I could give the guy my itinerary number. The guy said he did not need that. I get into my hotel room and it was not the room that I had paid for, nor wanted. The whole purpose of staying here was for what I had booked. Also I circled around the hotel 2 different times because there were no signs of bottle lobby check in and also there was nowhere to park when first arriving at the hotel.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Great location. Room was very nice. Didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast but the staff was nice.
- 5/5

Room was spacious, clean and stocked. Staff was great while checking in and packing was secured in a parking structure that required a room key to get in. Will stay again

Best thing about the stay was the staff . Very friendly , gave us a free upgrade and free parking which who won’t like . The breakfast was amazing . Rooms are clean and decent . Good location . Well worth for staying with family .

Staff were very helpful.
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked was in was super nice and relaxed.
- 5/5
Very welcoming staff
- 1/5
I paid $45 for parking but unfortunately there was no space and I had to park my car outside and no one cared.
- 5/5
Everything was great. This was a family trip and we had tickets to a comedy show nearby at the Improv. Proximity to the downtown area was perfect for what we were doing. Parking was in a secure garage for a fee. The breakfast provided was perfect for our needs. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
AC was horrible. Only went down to 76 the entire day and I could not be moved to another room because it was sold out due to Sharks game and theatre program
- 5/5
Good location, less cost, clean room, and nice people
- 5/5

$45 for parking! Had to go to lobby from floor 6 to get ice????
- 5/5
Mary at check in was so friendly and helpful,it made us feel very welcomed. The bar tender in the lounge, super friendly as well. From check in to check out, it was very nice experience. We will be back.
- 4/5
No one was working the restaurant and bar. This was a disappointment since we had planned on eating dinner there and having a drink.
- 5/5
Very close to SAP center walkable. And very clean area in general. With an awesome breakfast until 10am
- 5/5
The bed was not comfortable and the room was a little dated. They had plenty of options for breakfast that was good. The elevators are really slow. Was an overall good stay.
- 4/5
Not Ok
- 5/5
We had a great stay, I do wish the mattress was a bit more comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and they had a huge variety of choices.

The room was clean
- 5/5
I liked the location. It was walking distance to all entertainment! Parking was $45 which seemed on the expensive side. Overall, location, ambience, stay was good.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 4/5
Parking is ridiculously expensive. $45/night. Even though I would not mind staying there again, because of the extremely high parking fees, I will find somewhere else to stay.
- 5/5
Front desk people awesome friendly nice place and environment for our first time
- 5/5
Clean room
- 2/5
It’s was dirty and the bends were not cunfortable
- 5/5

- 5/5
Friendly staff, convenient location and very quiet hallways, clean and well stocked with towels!
- 5/5
Convenient location that was easy to get to. We were able to walk to places nearby to get dinner. The room and hotel were clean and the staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Great location. Parking was a bit pricey
- 4/5
Bathroom seems dirty with old dry hair stuff to the shower walls

Stay here if you are going to the bang bang niner gang game. There’s a train pick up/drop off right across the street from the Hotel. Just a heads up, they don’t sell booze after 10 pm. I’d stay here again
- 5/5
Walk score, staff helpfulness

- 5/5
Staff were good, room was clean, comfortable bed.. If you need ice for a cooler, you will need to get it via doordash
- 5/5
Amazing! Beautiful hotel!
- 5/5
Our stay went well. The fitness center is 24-hours.
- 4/5
Located in a good walking area to a lot of attractions. Room wasn’t ready at check in but didn’t take too long.
- 5/5
Hotel was really nice and restaurants and bars were walkable. Staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was a nice cherry on top. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Service was amazing. Location close to lots of great restaurants, museums and places to visit.
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Especially the manager his smile welcomed us.
- 5/5

Stayed at this location for a show nearby. The staff was great. The hotel rooms were great. Everything was clean and nice. My only complaint I had is when the show was over. They shut down the stairwells! And we all had to wait for the elevators. I did not like that at all.
- 1/5
The hallways were so loud. You could hear everything from people talking in the halls, doors slamming and the toilet flushing in other rooms. I will not stay here again.
- 5/5
Nick, st the front desk was very nice and helpful.
- 1/5
I was forced to park in public space down the block, it is a scam and does not actually have private parking
- 4/5
The hotel aesthetics were a lrlet down but the breakfast options were really good
- 5/5
Also need to mention that the free breakfast was delicious!
- 4/5
Hotel had great AC in the rooms, but they did not have any body soap in the shower it was completely empty
- 5/5
The only thing yhe draining in the tub was horrible the water wasn't going down as I shower
- 5/5
Nice clean rooms with a reasonable rate
- 5/5
Great but parking fee is really tough. Would rather it be included in room price
- 5/5
Went to SJ for a concert at Sap. This hotel was great, close to the venue and it was safe.
- 3/5
Upon entering our room, I noticed the room was warm. The AC was not working. Notified front desk, and we were quickly given another room. The hotel is decent for what we needed. Thank god no barn doors on the bathroom door. Hotel is right next door to San Jose Civic, across the street from Convention Center and 5-10 minute walk to museums, restaurants & bars and 9 minute drive to Westfield Valley fair mall. It is near the airport and within the flight path. We had no trouble with the noise or traffic. The room had a noise machine in case we needed it. The only downside was we were having issues with our toilet backing up. Maintenance came twice to fix the issue.
- 5/5
Parking is awesome
- 5/5
Front desk was so accommodating and helpful- the 2 gentlemen on the afternoon shift and the lady on the night shift (8/22)
- 4/5
Great location for events at the civic auditorium and convention center.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
- 5/5
the property was great!!!! and the staff was amazing!!! Albert was amazing from the time we checked in till the time we left, our son is autistic and loved Albert and he was great with him. He went above and beyond for all of us. Because of him we will be back for the Galaxy con 2026.
- 5/5
Variable brea
- 4/5
I was dissapointed that i did not receive the room that i booked and was told that it was because they were busy. I also didnt appreciate the blame being put on hotels.com. parking was comped but they need to manage busy weekends better.
- 4/5
The price was good considering Galaxy Con was across the street. Excellent hot breakfast with protein options. Clean, helpful staff, and convenient to theaters, light rail, and the convention center. Only cons were broken pocket door to bathroom, broken closet door, and hard beds.
- 5/5
But the sound of the neighbors flushing is noisy
- 5/5
The property was accessible to nearby restaurants, art centers & convention centers. This location is near the airport so there are passing planes outside but you barely hear them inside the hotel. The local trolly passes by but again you can barely hear it. The AC works phenomenally along with heat. There's a bar and breakfast daily. Great stay
- 5/5
It's centrally located to everything in downtown SJ,either a short walk or a quick ride. Also just 10 minutes from the airport
- 5/5
Had a good time hotel staff was great . Good breakfast an great location..
- 5/5
Very comfortable
- 5/5
Had a great stay!
- 5/5
Excellent service. Great access to central San Jose amenities
- 4/5
Other reviews were about it being old kinda needing work but it was clean and room was spacious. Staff was nice and helpful!
- 5/5
Comfortable and spacious
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very helpful. Rooms were clean building was quiet. Parking was easy in garage.
- 5/5
I had such a bad travel day and the staff working check in made a world of difference. It really is the little things
- 5/5
Free breakfast was good
- 5/5
Location was perfect. The staff was perfect.
- 5/5
Breakfast has varieties of food and well done
- 5/5
Excellent thank you
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
It wasn't obvious where we were supposed to pull in to get to the lobby. On Saturday night, the property itself had cars parked along the entire lobby area that never seemed to move, making dropoff difficult. Parking in the area was expensive and hard to access. Area parking lots changed prices daily and often didn't provide and upfront idea how long you were allowed to stay. (I'm talking to you Woz lot!)
- 5/5
Comfortable
- 4/5
The staff were all super nice! Parking and check in was a breeze. Room was great. Our only complaint was the loud sound of the A/C in the room. It was very, very loud. Plus you have airplanes coming in for landing right above the hotel. I could hear the planes over the loud A/C. My teenage daughter slept like a log but my husband and I are used to silence at night. The free breakfast in the morning was really good! It’s walking distance to a ton of places too. I would stay here again but maybe take ear plugs.
- 4/5
Overall great stay the only thing was the bathroom tub was a little dirty .
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful and perfect walking distance to our concert venue and activities downtown!
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
It’s hard to find nice hotels in San Jose - everything feels a bit dated and tired but the Hyatt Place with breakfast and fast internet and a good gym was wonderful - walking distance to all my meetings more or less.
- 2/5
Seems very expensive for this charge as there is not other option to park, they should have free parking for guests, mainly because it was not disclosed when you booked the room, it was literally outrageous
- 3/5
Perfect for a stay if needing to be walkable to SAP Arena. Great breakfast and bar, offering cocktails and beer. However if you're looking for a quiet relaxing hotel, it's probably not going to meet your expectations. It was loud. Between the VTA light rail and what seems like thin walls and windows it was a challenge to get a good night sleep. Bring ear plugs if you don't want to hear your neighbors.
- 5/5
location is great
- 2/5
From $45 a day for parking and the bath tub being clogged and a few other things it was a very average time and will not return
- 5/5
I was facing the San Carlos St on the 6th floor, and i could hear the Metro Rail. Is was fine at night, but if you like to sleep-in in the morning, it may be a nuisance.
- 2/5
Property needs maintenance. We got a room with loud AC, we were moved to a room with clogged bathtub, clogged sink. Shower knob is rusted, so hard to pull up. One of the bed is worn out, when you seat on it, it really curves so much and I’m only 120 lbs. Key cards that doesn’t work, we had to go back and forth more than 3 times a day, depending on how many times we go in and out the room. Access to garage doesn’t work, had to go back and forth from garage to front desk. Too much inconvenience for 4 days and 3 nights. Housekeeping kept the room clean and in order but the bathroom I don’t think it’s cleaned everyday. Toiletries are not refilled properly. Parking fee is crazy $45 per night. It should be free for guests. Thank you to Mary, Armando, Erika and Veronica, at least they’re easy to approach, friendly and helpful, to the best of their abilities and capabilities.
- 5/5
It was a great experience and location was perfect.
- 5/5
Everything was smooth and nice, thank you.
- 5/5
Very friendly check in staff
- 5/5
Nice LED lights in parking lot, clean room
- 5/5
Very clean and tidy no problems
- 5/5
Best continental breakfast I have ever seen.
- 3/5
The hotel was ok. The restaurant was closed down the first day we got there which was disappointing because after a long day of travel we had to go out & find something to eat. The bathrooms need to be updated. I couldn’t tell if they weren’t cleaned good or if it was old & rusty. Not worth the price I paid
- 5/5
Situated in downtown and easily accessible and awesome views
- 5/5
Only issue is , $45 for parking per day. Went with family of four, with 2 kids on July 4. The front desk were kind enough to offer free upgrade to top level , so we can enjoy watching fireworks. Great experience.
- 5/5
It’s a great location near many venues within walking distance. Very easy access to the hotel parking garage. The room was comfortable and clean. The only thing I missed was that the portable refrigerator didn’t have a freezer section.
- 1/5
They overbook their parking garage spaces!! The front desk guy told me to park my car and leave it there, and that if I didn’t, chances are strong that I won’t find a spot when I come back later in the evening. To h*ll with that…I parked at the lot across the street for $3 extra. You suck, Hyatt of Downtown San Jose!!
- 5/5
The location is perfect and staff were very kind
- 4/5
Stayed here for the location and was impressed with most everything. The staff was friendly and helpful upon check in and with our requests for extra blankets. Hotel was very clean and parking felt safe and easy to get between garage to hotel. The included breakfast was impressive with many options. The only downside was that we found the beds to be uncomfortable. Everything else was great!
- 5/5
Mary at the front desk was very helpful and lovely to talk to. Room was clean and breakfast was delicious. Definitely will be returning.
- 4/5
It was clean
- 1/5
Check-in was frustrating—no one at the front desk, and we had to ask the bar staff for help. Parking was full, forcing us to park at a neighboring hotel and walk back. Despite reserving a king room for a birthday celebration, we were given two full beds. The bathtub didn’t drain properly, leaving us standing in water during showers. As a frequent traveler, this experience was unacceptable. I won’t be returnin
- 3/5
It was terrible, toilet and bath tub drain wasn't work and so slow and enterance sign was so small miss twice to turn.
- 5/5
Staff were nice
- 5/5
Great for trips centered around the convention center. Just removed from loads of options within a few blocks. Very walkable and convenient for navigating the downtown area.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 2/5
I drove away the minute I saw the surronding neighborhood, I forgot how rundown, downtown San Jose is. I went to check in around 10 pm and there were homeless people wandering all around downtown San Jose. I should have booked Hyatt Cupertino or Hyatt place San Jose airport. I recently purchased a new car and did not want to have a smash and grab performed on my vehicle. I am sure the hotel is nice on the inside, but there was no way I was going to risk staying there. I just ate the cost of the room due to the unsafe neighborhood. I stay in hotels in San Jose weekly for work and I will NOT be booking anymore rooms downtown. This was a huge waste of money.
- 5/5
My stay at the Hyatt Place Downtown San Jose was spectacular. The hotel is clean and conveniently located across from the SJCC. What truly sets this property apart is the staff. Erika, Veronica and Albert truly went above and beyond to make my business trip a success.
- 5/5
The property itself is clean, quiet and conveniently located across the street from the SJCC. The staff is absolutely stellar, Erika, Veronica and Albert are the real standouts that make me want to return anytime that I have to stay in San Jose.
