Reviews
The hotel is praised for its prime location and affordable price, with many guests finding it a solid choice for short stays. However, the shared bathrooms and lack of amenities are frequent complaints, and some guests express dissatisfaction with the cleanliness and condition of the rooms.

Very clean room! Easy to check in and helpful staff.

Location + single rooms The stay was very noisy, with thin walls and doors that shut loudly, making it difficult to rest. Check-in was also delayed by about 20 minutes, which added to the inconvenience.

Was hesitant at first, but overall good experience. Very clean shared restrooms. Did have one evening where 1 restroom/shower on the floor was out of service (there are 2 per floor), but I’m fairly certain it would have been fixed the following morning-but we checked out of the hotel prior to maintenance.

It was definitely conveniently located, if you don’t mind walking. Which I do, so it worked out. It was beyond paper thin walls. I get it, it’s $70 per night so you get what you pay for. But man, trying to open up a window to cool the room down and it being obscenely loud was stressful. And then hearing any and all conversations all night was horrendous.

I do not recommend this hotel at all. The property is very old and clearly not well maintained. Everything feels worn out and outdated, and the hallways had a strong unpleasant smell of urine, which made the stay very uncomfortable. The only positive aspect is the location, which is convenient and well situated. However, that alone is not enough to make up for the poor overall condition of the hotel. Everything

I depend on the TV for entertainment Check out-he never mentioned the TV Thank you for coming, have a good rest of your day He said nothing

No AC
- 4/5
Shared bathroom/shower for the whole floor, and tiny rooms but it's cheap and right downtown. Heavy recommend as long as you don't mind having to find parking elsewhere in the city. Walgreens across the street is very convenient and plenty to see and do that the downsides to the place don't really feel like downsides.

location near church metro station. TV Sub unit for tv programs did not work. I do not watch TV channels so it was no problem to me. Wifi sometimes weak or not available. I brought my own mobile internet flat rate so it was no problem for me. Hotel very quiet in clean. Two separate restrooms and showers at each floor. Staff at the counter exceptily friendly.
- 5/5
To make matters worse, there is no parking available on the premises, which was very inconvenient.

The hotel has an excellent location. Very basic but all my needs were met the room was clean and the bathroom adequate. The hotel could do with investment old worn out furniture and carpets. However once I’d got used to the environment I adapted and enjoyed my stay. The man on reception was very polite and helpful. I also felt completely safe.

Beautiful layout, each room was beautifully decorated, with nice decor. Enough space to unpack, and really feel like I could stay there for a while. And because of the shared bathroom, it made it inexpensive enough. Just right for my stay in that part of SF. Nothing that stands out

location & bathroom were nice customer service was just ok, not disrespectful but not very welcoming. doorknob was loose upon arrival & had to be tightened & requires some shimmying to open the door. when bathroom lights & fan are turned off, they dont turn back on for about 10 minutes after each time (front desk said the breaker was out but it happened continuously). one of the bathroom towels was dirty upon arrival. toilet paper roll holder is cheap & does not do its job well (roll kept falling off the holder). i think theres no ac? tried to turn it on & it makes noise but does not push out cold air (it was SO HOT the whole day)
- 2/5
The location is excellent and the room itself is fair - the furniture is new-ish and comfortable, there’s enough space for a longer stay, and a nice big window. The outside isn’t very loud in the evening or morning. I everything concerning toilets and showers were a big disappointment. Rooms need renovations to the point where one of the showers didn’t work properly, and the other had a whole in the wall.

I'm not from here and I didn't understand the credit only method of deposit payment but it's ok, the good thing is the man let me pay the deposit in cash and he gave me it back and honored that. Overall I would give this place 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ awesome place

The location is the best. If you want to be close to Castro, restaurants, clubs, metro stops, a big supermarket, this is the place to stay. The price gets you what you pay. I found the place to be quiet, clean with a comfortable bed. Also, the staff was really nice. I appreciate their help and kindness. The place was very cold. I was there in Feb and the whole building was freezing. The bathrooms were so cold! The room doesn’t have heating either but they give you a portable heater. It works well and you don’t feel cold after. It heats up pretty quickly.

Nothing at all. I ended up leaving within 30 minutes and getting another hotel somewhere else. It was clean but did not feel comfortable at all. No accesible parking. Restrooms were not in the rooms. I was not able to get my money back even though I didn’t stay there.

No heating or A/C- we had to open the window for any air movement. Both the duvet cover and pillowcase were stained in several places upon our arrival. The shower water did not stay in the shower pan, it drained all the way out of the bathroom and into the bedroom carpet so we had to move all our luggage onto the bed

Steer clear of this hotel. Old and not kept up well. The person staying across the hall was playing his music very loud all night; management did not do anything at all. The shared bathroom flooded in the middle of the night. I left behind a jacket in the closet that had my AirPods in the zipped pocket. Called back and the manager said they did not find anything; however, the find my location app showed my item (AirPods) still at the hotel. Either shady manager or shady housekeeping.

On Tuesday, September 30, I stayed at the Twin Peaks Hotel - Castro and I paid for the room with my card and with my own hands I gave the $100 deposit and on the day of check out he came to get me out at 10:30 the manager yelled at me and it turns out that a man came saying that the money was his. The manager of the hotel gave my deposit to that person and when the camera records it, I gave him the $100 with my own hands.

I was lucky to be able to book a room day of due to my other option not working out and I am so grateful. Check in was easy, I booked online and the website and reviews give an honest description of the hotel. In a fun area and transportation is very easy to navigate. For a cheap stay i would say you get what you pay for but I am just so happy I could get in on such late notice in a friday night.

Not quite my style. The room was tiny and had an odd, possibly cigarette-like odor. I didn't check the reviews before booking, so it turned out different from what I anticipated. The shower and toilet were shared with others on the floor. I could hear conversations from down the hallway. I left after only two hours because it felt unsettling. It seemed more like a hostel or a fancy jail. Even the receptionist had glass protection, hard to hear wth he was saying. I won't return and would rather spend an extra $50 for a better experience. Just my personal perspective.

This was a great experience. The staff was kind. Due to San Francisco being structured the way it is, it was difficult to find parking. I wish there was a parking structure or a spot specifically for the hotel. Maybe in the future? Who knows. Overall, the stay was great and the convenience to walk around to dine and shop was great. Thanks Twin Peaks Hotel.

Great location, rooms are fine, except the large bay window in our room was propped up with metal pineapple juice cans. As night fell and it became cold, I closed the window. I underestimated the weight of it, and it slammed down hard on my fingers. My right index finger is still bruised two months later.

Room was claustrophobic, very small and the only window was frosted so you couldn’t see out. Toilet seat was broken and shower was angled toward the corner, making it hard to stand under the flow. Worst of all, there was noise from people coming and going at all hours of the night. I was next to the stairs which were old and creaky, so if you do stay here, ask for a room away from the stairs.

Great little gem of a place near Castro. While spartan, it was clean and everything I needed. Cute older building, with an updated bathroom. Basic amenities, no-frills, but none were needed. Everything you need is a few steps away on market Street. I slept well when I was there, and it was quiet enough even though I was right on the street.

Good hotel to stay at near the Castro. My only complaint was that the bedding had not been washed. There was a noticeable stain on the top quilt, overall used musty smell on the bedding, and I found hair on the pillowcases.
