Good location. Over-priced. Non-functional wi-fi. Unhelpful staff.
- 4/5
We stayed in one of the suites for a few days. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean, but the building, walls, doors, windows and carpet need some upgrades. The hotel is in a great location where you can walk safely to parks, stores and restaurants. The free breakfast and wines hour were great.
- 5/5
I love the view of Golden Gate Park and the wonderful breakfast room decorated with posters from bands of SF's psychedelic period.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Clean room with comfy bed. Breakfast was just ok. Good location and close to restaurants. Will return.
- 5/5
Great location, helpful staff, nice amenities. Clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
This hotel is a charming landmark, renovated old hotel in a location that is very convenient to eighth Street and Golden Gate Park. It is well appointed, with clean, comfortable rooms and has a period charm. The staff is very accommodating. There is a dining room where a better than average breakfast is available every morning and you can bring your own food and eat there. It is very pleasant and well lit. The breakfast are generous and there are snacks available all day. I highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Good locating to UCSF Parnassus Hospital, extended stay, walking distance 1/2 mile, Whole Foods 1 block, laundrymat 1 block, restaraunts etc close by.
- 5/5
Great place. I would recommend this place, if you want a fabulous place.
- 5/5
Our go to boutique hotel in SF. Great location near GG park.
- 4/5
small facility....
- 4/5
Great staff--very helpful.
- 5/5
What a wonderful find!
- 3/5
Rooms are small, noisy and have horrible bathrooms. Much nicer hotel in SF for much less money. Have stayed here many times as husband insists but never my first choice. Now that daughter no longer in this area will definitely not return.
- 5/5
Excelente estancia, limpia, cómoda, segura, excelente ubicación y personal amable
- 4.5/5
the breakfast, it's fair enough...
- 5/5
The breakfast was good but there were no gluten free options of bread or pastries and this was a little disappointing considering I was in San Francisco and there are a number of gluten free products in all of the stores. This is my only complaint. Everything else was amazing.

We were a family of four 3 adults and 1 child age 8 1/2. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite it had everything we needed however the twin beds were a little too small for my adult daughter and granddaughter, but being that the living room had a full size queen pullout bed it work out perfectly for them! It seemed like the staff changed quite frequently but every person we encountered was equally kind and helpful. Only one confusion, day 1 we were told we had 24 access to the breakfast area for hot and cold drinks and on day 2 the girl at the front desk stopped us and said it was closed and I said Oh, isn't it opened for hot and cold drinks for 24 hrs? She said no, some workers let it slide but they are not supposed too. I said oh okay, I wasn't I aware because of online stating the same and she also disagreed with that so I just said alrighty we can just get our drinks from upstairs no biggie and she just smiled. Only Big " Con" I have is Finding a Bottle of Fire Ball in the Dining room Buffet Drawer! Normally anyone wouldn't mind finding this...lol, but when you have a curious child and a 23 year recovering Alcoholic addict staying in that room it wasn't a pleasant surprise to have found it, but luckily it was I that was there when my husband found it and was able to encourange him to just dump it out!!!! This could have been devastating for our family, I thank the Lord it was not! I hope the maids will have better training available to them so this does not repeat itself!
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and helpful! The room was nice and clean as well! Easy access to the Golden Gate Park to take a nice walk and visit places like the Academy of science. I would definitely recommend!
- 5/5
Very customer oriented. Close to hospital.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and location. Would stay here any time!
- 5/5
This charming hotel is always clean and well maintained. Great location in a walkable neighborhood with many restaurants and easy access to Golden Gate Park. Trail access to the museums and a public parking lot on Stanyan St. are a great alternative to driving around looking for a parking spot. Highly recommend if you’re visiting the De Young or the Academy of Science.

Clean room and wonderful staff
- 5/5
Great staff wonderful place!
- 2/5
The room was clean but tiny, no free parking, no fridge, no microwave. It was clean, staff were friendly, the price was not worth it.
- 3/5
A decent place to stay if you need to be in that side of San Francisco. I would stay there again. It is a no-frills place. The bed was OK not very comfortable. The room could use updating. The hallway next to it smelled like marijuana. I was supposed to stay there for four nights, but I moved elsewhere for the last night.
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond in helping us.
- 5/5

- 3/5
comfortable. no frills
- 5/5
Very nice hotel we will come again
- 5/5
They have down graded their breakfast offerings. Was looking forward to some warm scrambled eggs instead of cold hard boiled. But still like the Stanton because of the staff.
- 3/5
The way the hotel looked. How close we were located to the stairs. Was pretty loud with banging. And the tapping sounds kept me awake all night. Also the window across from the bathroom scared me. If someone was to stumble they could break the window and fall.
- 4.5/5
Excellent location away from all the tourists but perfectly located for easy access to all you want to see. Nearby public transportation gets you everywhere. Plus, hotel is across from the Golden Gate Park with museums, live music, gardens and more activities than I can list. Super cool thrift stores (many!) around the corner, and great places to eat 2-3 blocks away. Also an Irish pub 2 doors down. Quaintly decorated. Room was large and comfortable, cute bathroom. Very clean. And you couldn't find more helpful staff. Shout out to Jay! Breakfast. Recommend you grab a coffee and paper, to start, then head to one of the lovely nearby breakfast spots, such as Zazies.

- 5/5
Excellent stay. Room great. Staff great. Location great.
- 1/5
Love the hotel and all. Just a few things like there is no counter for toothbrushes etc to put on in the bathroom, and if there is a mini fridge that would be great . But overall was a good stay
- 5/5
Great stay. Location is amazing. Restored hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast
- 5/5
This hotel provided everything I was hoping for. From the wine hour early evening to the excellent breakfast, there was no room for complaint. The room was very clean and well stocked. Being an old hippie, I loved the short walk to Haight Ashbury and the beautiful Golden Gate Park right across the street.
- 5/5
Great location, staff and rooms
- 5/5
welcoming and helpful staff, spotless room with a well-equipped bathroom, and fantastic location close to plenty of restaurants, Haight street and the Golden Gate Park.
- 5/5
Clean room, good breakfast, great staff
- 5/5
The breakfast menu looked good, I saw when I got coffee, but we came down for the last 30-40 minutes and most of the food choices were no longer available.
- 4/5
Room was small but adequate. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Fabulous stay! Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel. We enjoyed the old photographs of San Francisco located throughout the hotel and the breakfast. We liked being across the street from Golden Gate Park.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Ideal location for ballet/concerts/plays downtown. Near a safe paid parking lot for worry free long term parking. Quiet area near the park. N/A
- 5/5
Best place to stay by Golden Gate Park!
- 5/5
The Stanyan Park Hotel is a perfect example, from the foyer, to the photographs on the walls tracing over a century of history, to the old-world style of the rooms. The staff at the front desk were always pleasant, on the way in or on the way out. It is right across the street from Golden Gate Park and a short walk to restaurants, and a good walk to the University of San Francisco - especially if you take a detour through The Panhandle.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, great location, good breakfast, several restaurants around, nice staff. Will be staying here again. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
The location is what drew us to stay at the Stanyan Park Hotel. It was very clean and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job. With any property near 100 years old, the building does show its age, and you cant fault the hotel for that. Overall Yes, I would for sure recommend staying at the Stanyan Park Hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, soft towels, great location across from Golden Gate Park, several restaurants and cafes around, good breakfast, wine and refreshments every night. Nice staff. Highly recommended when in the area.
- 5/5
We always love staying at the Stanyan. The proximity to the park and so many nice local restaurants is great. Nice, safe parking lot across the street.
- 5/5
I'll be back!
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, didn't realize the heater was on, it was warm in the room but staff provided us with a fan and it helped. Friendly staff, good breakfast, wine and refreshments in the evening included. Great location right across from Golden Gate Park. Variety of restaurants near the hotel. And Whole Foods 2 blocks away. Highly recommended when in the area.
- 5/5
I love the property! The staff is amazing especially Sean. Very comfortable beds! My only complaint this time was the heat in the room. It was a very hot day in San Francisco and the heat stayed on. I know it’s not usually a problem, but it was very warm in our room.
- 5/5
Wonderful location right across the street from Golden Gate Park. Rooms are older but very clean and comfortable. Loves the breakfast and happy hour each morning. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 4.5/5
Very personable staff. Cookies upon check in, wine reception from 5-6 and a very good continental plus breakfast. Our room was small, but I was expecting that.

- 5/5
Walls are a bit thin, but honestly everything else about the stay was too notch.
- 5/5
No issues and high marks all around. Staff was great at checkin and out and during stay. Included breakfast was just right and the daily free wine and cheese plus other goodies was a treat. Would highly recommend to anyone heading to SF area. Location is perfect, block away from Haight and across street for Golden Gate Park and easy public transportation access minutes away. Will be back!!
- 5/5
Staff were courteous, room was clean. Breakfast was sufficient.
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Would have loved to have coffee maker in the room though. Feel like all the rooms should have this, not just the suites
- 5/5
Excellent staff upon arrival Great rooms Could use variety for breakfast... scrambled eggs
- 5/5
Convenience and helpful front desk!
- 5/5
Had a phenomenal stay and loved the super friendly staff!
- 5/5
The breakfast was nice. We will be back.
- 1/5
We booked the biggest suite, expecting decent customer service. We were made to wait for 2 hours after standard check in time, for the room to be ready, with zero communication from the hotel staff or management, only to be told there was a plumbing issue that they were still cleaning up (gross!). When we finally got to the room, after missing our dinner reservations, the wall to wall carpet was wet (so gross!), again without any information from the management. I tried calling the manger twice, without any call back or specific information about how they will make this right. The poor front desk staff was just stuck in the middle trying to cover for the manager, who is totally unresponsive because " it's his day off". I expect a big discount on the $800 per night room. The lack of communication is unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and the room was quaint.
- 4/5
The room was lovely. Love the decor, Toilet needs fixing in room 207 Toilet needs fixing 207. It wouldnt flush unless we opened the tank and flicked something
- 5/5
The room had fantastic enmities and the maid service was impeccable! Another plus is how close this hotel was to the accessing of Golden State Park. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience!
- 4/5
Great location and friendly staff. We would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room. Walking distance to the park, restaurants and shopping. Old works San Francisco charm.
- 4/5
The room was small but comfortable. The breakfast was simple but with big variety. The location is near the Golden Gate park and Haight Ashbury. There is access to hot drinks 24 hours a day. I'm not sure they had air condition but it wasn't necessary. Not close to the city center.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel
- 5/5
Perfect locatuon, cute clean hotel
- 5/5
Bed was a little too firm but was cozy.
- 4.5/5
Clean room. Breakfast and evening wine were a nice bonus
- 3/5
Was expecting scrambled eggs The price exceedingly expensive
- 5/5
Great stay! Comfy bed and the pillows were awesome… woke up with no neck or shoulder pain!
- 5/5
Design and no coffee in the room
- 5/5
Very friendly, good food and someone's always at the desk.
- 5/5
Great location- directly across from Golden Gate Park. Very conscientious staff and great amenities like breakfast and wine hour included. Every room is different so ask questions when booking!
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and cute. Me sister and I enjoyed the complimentary wine reception at 5pm and loved the convince of Golden Gate Park right a cross the street… but the bed was old and hard so we didn’t sleep that well.
- 5/5
Early evening there was an awful whistling in the room. Front desk responded quickly and we were moved

staff very helpful. m
- 5/5
The rooms are nice abd always clean. The breakfast is good. But what stands out is the staff. They are the best. Super nice and very helpful. Especially in times of need.
- 5/5
great spot in san francisco near restaurants, shopping and healthcare
- 1/5
In the room, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee maker, no coffee, nothing to eat or drink except tap water. No A/C, no thermostat - small radiator at bottom of wall under window where you can kneel down to increase the heat setting and hope the room warms up eventually. Trucks and buses and honking cars and emergency vehicles driving by with sirens all the time - very noisy place.
- 5/5
The bed and pillows were comfortable!
- 5/5
Outstanding in every way: great service on the phone and in-person at the front desk, impeccably clean room and bathroom, super comfy bed and pillow, and the brst location across the street from Golden Gate Park and a couple blocks away from whole foods store and the Panhandle district. Live this boutique hotel with loads of historic charm and personality!
- 5/5
Quaint, clean, comfortable bed, accommodating staff
- 3/5
It was fine I guess. Everything felt a bit old. My room was FREEZING and I had to ask for extra blankets and a space heater, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. It was nice to be across from the park and down the street from a good coffee shop and the main part of Haight-Ashbury.
- 5/5
Lovely space!
- 5/5
We had a great stay! The room was very clean with lots of hangers and an extra blanket. The staff were very helpful. The only con was the wifi - it was a bit slow.
- 3/5
Staff was nice. Perks were thoughtful( cookies, wine happy hour etc). But the room was small and furnishings old. Great location though
- 5/5
Loved this hotel!!!
- 5/5
Staff was very pleasant and we loved the location. We were there on Christmas day so parking was plentiful however I imagine it would be very difficult to find parking under normal conditions.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Great location near restaurants, very friendly staff, clean room, excellent bathroom with amenities. The only negative was that we could hear footsteps from room above and walking/talking in the hallway.
- 5/5
Wonderful room, wonderful hotel, wonderful location.
- 5/5
In a great neighborhood, Staffs were very nice!
- 5/5
Conveniently located for lots of great SF walks. Staff was friendly and rooms were cleaned daily. Would definitely recommend!
- 5/5
We’ve stayed at the Stanyan 4 times this year. Rooms are clean. We enjoy the Breakfast Room and the 24 hr desk clerks. Easy drop-off and pickup for Lyft. Parking your own car very challenging.
- 5/5
Cute room got a great view was able to open the windows. Loved the room keeping some of the historical fixtures.
- 5/5
Great little place. Nice for walking
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. Location was perfect
- 5/5
All good. Thank you
- 5/5
Room spotless. Staff really welcoming, helpful, efficient and professional
- 5/5
Excellent overall. The only improvement would be at breakfast, adding scrambled eggs and peanut butter to the menu!
- 3/5
all was pretty nice, except no fridge in the room
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, but parking is across the street in a public lot. Still, clean, pleasing rooms, friendly service. Love this place!
- 4/5
Clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Yep very much
- 5/5
Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Lobby staff helpful.
- 5/5
It’s little hard for parking.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable, staff was great! And really hard to beat the location, I think.
- 4/5
Great location, charming with a friendly staff. It was very noisy at night, however.
- 4/5
Staff was lovely. All of them. Room clean but so small. Breakfast everyday was fine but exactly same for 5 days, we loved the wine hour too.
- 3.5/5
My only complaint was the air freshener or cleaning supplies (maybe) were a fragrance that was very irritating to my allergies. My eyes were and burning while in my room.
- 5/5
Very clean and pleasant room. They were accommodating when I asked for an extra hour before checkout, which was very helpful to me.
- 4/5
Only had one encounter with a ghost
- 4/5
Clean room. No interaction with staff other than front desk.
- 5/5
All of the front desk staff were amazing! The rooms were lovely and very clean!! The bed and linens were cozy and comfortable!!
- 4/5
Cute, quaint hotel near Golden Gate Park. The staff is friendly and helpful and the sunny yellow paint just makes you feel happy. It is a perfect place for families visiting University of San Francisco or want to easily visit the park or Haight. I will warn that it lacks a lobby space sufficient for people on work trips.
- 4/5
Staff was excellent.
- 5/5
Very peaceful cozy spot
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel will all the amenities of home plus more in our 2 bedroom suite. Very clean. I loved the afternoon cookies!
- 4.5/5
Golden Gate Park was our main destination, the view and proximity was exactly right outside the front door, with a short crosswalk between hotel guests and the park. The park's gardens were so beautiful, with exhibits and live music to enjoy. The Stanyan retains a classic vintage style, yet the property maintenance is so above par, it is seemingly brand new! Fresh finishes, crisp and very clean. We felt very welcome upon arrival, and received an upgrade to a larger room. Any request or inquiry we made was met with enthusiasm and attention. I would love to return to this hotel on our next visit, and explore more of San Fransisco. This was a perfect stay! Being from the desert, we are used to central A.C. along with fans, so the noise and motion of air moving through the night is part of our sleeping experience. A small bedside fan, or white noise machine would be the single improvement I can think of, but I have no actual complaints, our stay was perfect.
- 5/5
Always a treat to stay at the Stanyan. An old school vibe excellently located.
- 4/5
Hotel is cute and has that early 1900s vibe. Staff was great. Couldn’t find a closer place to Golden Gate Park. Also, very close to UCSF. Rooms are definitely on the small side and no views from the rooms. Breakfast was minimal with bacon sausage, but not eggs (except HB).
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel near Golden Gate State Park. Tue nreak
- 5/5
I would stay here again, charming and wonderfully located.
- 5/5
We were delighted to be so close to Golden Gate Park and UCSF. The property seems very well cared for and includes thoughtful amenities like breakfast and evening snacks. All staff were kind and friendly.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Public areas and the room are very clean. Location is great, one block from Haight Street and right across from Golden Gate Park.
- 5/5
We had a great stay at The Stanyan Park Hotel. The location was perfect, the staff friendly and helpful and the property was well cared for. Would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
the location is amazing for our needs, across from Golden Gate Park. The weak link is the current breakfast offering. Lukewarm sausage and limp bacon are the only "hot" items. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, packaged coffee cakes and bagels, yogurt and some fruits. Coffees and teas were fine.
- 4/5
I wish there was hot scrambled eggs and also oat meal .
- 5/5
Will be back for sure!!
- 5/5
Great location at the park, staff knowledgeable and friendly.
- 4/5
Great area to stay. Conveniently located opposite Golden Gate Park and bear hippie shops!
- 5/5
Stanyan Park Hotel is such a gem. We were looking for a hotel within walking distance of Golden Gate Park, public transportation, and fine dining - and found it! Lovely decor, very clean, and friendly staff. We loved the wine and snacks at 5:00, and the continental breakfast offered a variety of items. The neighborhood felt safe and the restored homes are lovely. We will definitely return.

We stayed in one of the suites with a bedroom and a pullout couch. Great for our family of 4 staying in the area for a wedding. The location of this amazing historic hotel is one of a kind. It let us live like locals.

The location is perfect, walking distance to cute restaurants and across the street from the beautiful park.

Rooms are very small which should be expected for an historic inn. Breakfast and happy hour were both good and easy. Several parking options also available. Definitely a European Inn vibe. I will definitely be back.

Clean, quiet, great location! Golden Gate Park is across the street, and the Haight is within a couple of blocks. Complimentary breakfast and complimentary wine service in the evening.
- 5/5
We stayed for a visit to UCSF medical. When procedure delays occurred, the management and staff went out of their way to accommodate us and give us a good stay! The front desk people were also friendly and helpful from beginning to end. If we have to come to UCSF again, the hotel choice will be easy. Thanks

Great hotel, clean room, friendly staff, wine happy was relaxing. Definitely worth the trip
- 5/5
I have traveled extensively around the world and this is, by far, THE MOST PLEASANT HOTEL I've ever been in. I stayed in this hotel at least twice each year for the last 5 years, and had consistent experience. The front desk staff has been there for as long as I can remember - they are kind, helpful, pleasant, with great communications skills. The room is comfortable and many of the rooms face to the park. Often there is parking right across the street (which is amazing considering this is "kissing" the Golden Gate Park) so I can see my car through the window! There is also a paid parking lot right around the corner. They only have 36 rooms and they serve a very nice breakfast with great attention to hygiene (e.g. the bagels are in sealed bags). I have great respect for this establishment! It was perfect. Always. Perfect!

Staff are friendly, location is excellent. Very quiet area of San Francisco right next to Golden Gate Park, but it's 2 blocks from muni so you can get downtown (or almost anywhere else) in about 15 minutes. I also love the historical character of the building. Highly recommend this hotel for people looking for the slower, less touristy side of San Francisco.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
I loved this little historical hotel. Best stay thus far in San Francisco. Super close and walkable to UCSF hospital, Golden Gate Park, dining options galore and of course the Haight-Ashbury area.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, great location!
- 5/5
Perfect location, across the park, good breakfast, nice rooms. What else could one ask for?
- 5/5
Great location, nice Staff
- 5/5
Great location. Loved that the park was right across the street. Not too far from a MUNI stop. One train ride straight to oracle park.
- 5/5
Great friendly staff, very clean and well maintained, wonderful suite rooms, great location.
- 5/5
The friendly staff, free breakfast, and the location next to Golden Gate Park make this hotel an easy choice for our next stay in San Francisco. We also loved the free wine tasting -- meeting other guests was the icing on the cake.
- 5/5
Property was clean. Rooms were great. Staff was awesome. Maria the room lady is great. You definitely dont pay her enough. She was very attentive
- 4/5
Very nice hotel with great location. It happened to be really warm when we visited so room got warm too. No air conditioning so opened windows which would have been perfect as far as temps but no screens on windows so had mosquito visitors. Besides that the hotel was lovely with nice breakfast.
- 5/5
Location is great right across from Golden Gate Park. Parking is kind of a pain unless you pay for lot across street separately.
- 5/5
Great location! Across the street from Golden Gate Park, and parking lot with reasonable fees (for SF). Good restaurants are walkable, as well as a Whole Foods Market one block away. Continental breakfast with hard boiled eggs, pastries, bagels, sausage, both pork and vegan, yogurt, cereals, juices, coffee and teas in a pleasant dining room. We hope to visit again!
- 5/5
Our room was clean every day! The breakfast was delicious and the staff was helpful with all our questions.
- 5/5
This is a terrific boutique hotel and such a welcome change for everyone tired of the glass box corporate hotels in the central district. It's still close to make getting to meetings easy, has the park across the street and is extremely well maintained. Top marks.
- 5/5
An excellent hotel all round. Very clean, quiet and friendly. Happy wine hour was a treat! Very European!
- 5/5
Charming and great location
- 5/5
Great location. Sweet place. Bfast kinda meh.
- 5/5
Front desk was accommodating & brought fridge to room promptly.
- 5/5
History. I love the whole sf thing. Nothing I didn't like, would be nice to have had a little fridge but that would take away from the vintage feeling.
- 4/5
Close to were family lives
- 5/5
This was a great choice for a stay in San Francisco. We were there with a large group for a wedding. Service was excellent!
- 5/5
Such a wonderful and helpful staff! The rooms are so stylish and classy, very true to the era. We would stay here again for sure!
- 5/5
Very traditional SF hotel. Classic style with historic pictures throughout the building. Very nice complimentary wine and snacks. The breakfast was perfect.
- 5/5
Stayed at this hotel with my family (5 off us) in the suite - it was good, clean and spacious. The location is also great to discover san Francisco! I would stay there again!
- 5/5
Wonderful piece of San Francisco history. Friendly staff, super comfortable beds and a quaint atmosphere. If you’re looking to be transported back to the old days of San Francisco, this is the property for you!
- 5/5
This hotel is across the street from Golden Gate Park, a must see experience when visiting SF.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, very conveniently located with friendly staff.
- 5/5
It was well located with many food and walking options right outside the door not to mention that Haight St was just a block away

Property was close to attractions and Golden Gate Park- the perfect spot for our vacation. Room was great, comfortable bed and breakfast with lots of options. Staff were courteous, efficient and friendly.

I had a wonderful stay here. All the staff were friendly and the manager Bill as well. I stayed here for GD60 and would definitely stay there again.

Great place friendly staff

Best hotel I know in SF

Nice breakfast

We had a wonderful stay. It is so convenient to explore Haight/Ashbury. There are tons of shops and restaurants in the area and beautiful Victorian houses- the hotel being one of them! Lauren was super helpful in checking in and with area recommendations

The hotel needs to be refreshed-it smells like grandma’ musty house. The room was spacious (King Cupola) and comfortable. The self-serve breakfast was nice, except for the coffee. Many DoorDash options that delivered directly to our room. We loved the staff-everyone was friendly and helpful.

This hotel was similar to hotels I've stayed in France and Italy. Small hotel, not luxury but clean and the King room was comfortable
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast and coffee. If you need at least a minifridge in your room, make sure yours has one as it is not standard in all rooms of the same size. This older building is very-well maintained with fitting decor. Will come back. Thank you.

Love this place!

Classic, classy hotel

Very quaint and stately hotel.

Front desk staff were great! Loved the continental breakfast and wine happy hour. Thank you Stanyan Park!
- 5/5
I loved that it was close to the park and walking distance to the Haight Ashbury neighborhood.
- 5/5
Great location, right across from Golden Gate Park.
- 5/5
Parking is a real challenge here. It’s difficult to find a parking spot.
- 4/5
We’re a family of 6. So we either get 2 rooms or a suite. We got a suite and absolutely loved it! The beds were extremely comfortable. We all slept wonderfully. Place was absolutely beautiful and clean. It was like stepping back in time, place is absolutely charming. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Huge bonus was the front office gave us water bottles at the beginning of our day and then as we came from sightseeing. I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Great staff, nice facilities.

Everything was nice from to finish.

We wanted a hotel close to UCSF Medical Center and this hotel was great since it’s a short walk from the Stanyan Muni stop. They have a complimentary wine and snacks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tastefully designed. The only negative is the street noise. Next time we will ask for a room on the other side.

Clean, quiet with friendly, helpful staff. Tea & coffee available 24/7. Free wine & refreshments daily 5-6pm. Good position opposite Golden Gate Park on the edge of Haight Ashbury. Two short blocks to Whole Foods. Recommended.
- 5/5
Pretty room with a view of the park. Nice free wine happy hour. Excellent location. Helpful staff.
- 4/5
Overall clean and the staff was fantastic! The walls and ceilings need some repair in our room.
- 5/5
The breakfast fare could be improved. But overall very pleased.
- 5/5
Convenient location, friendly and attentive staff, quiet room away from street. Room was quite small bit ok for my short stay. No desk. Included buffet style breakfast was okay but surprisingly (to me, anyway) no eggs were offered. And it was rather pricey. But I’d stay here again.

Location fabulous, people great, old, stately hotel

All around great.

Had a lovely stay. Staff was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed happy hour and continental breakfast. The hallways are filled with historic photographs. Bonus - complimentary Sunday NY Times. Only inconvenience is difficult street parking, but there's a lot across the street.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bedding and nice room!

Very good stay.

Very nice hotel with thoughtful amenities like a wine bar happy hour and a good breakfast. Located in a great area for walking (Golden Gate Park across the street, and that Haight/Ashbury a couple of blocks away). Good place to stay for sports as the N Train, three blocks away, takes you directly to Oracle Park (and from there an easy walk to the Chase Center).

Accommodating staff and sufficient buffet breakfast.
- 5/5
I especially enjoy the breakfast and having a copy of the New York Times every day
- 5/5
We stay here every time we come to the city Perfect location Convenient to park and public transportation
- 5/5
I enjoyed staying in this historic hotel; the staff were very helpful. It was right across the street from the west end of Golden Gate Park which made walking daily wonderful. The Japanese garden was lovely.
- 4/5
The staff was actually pretty good, but I got to their breakfast shortly after 7 AM when their breakfast officially starts, and some of the sausages they had put out were still frozen inside the propane heated chafer so they had put them out a bit late, or weren’t there to alert people. Not a super big deal, but they might want to have at least one hotel staffer visible. No one was in the check-in lobby either.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Great location.
- 5/5
It was fantastic

We had a great long weekend stay here. We opted for a family suite over a regular room even though it was just the two of us and really enjoyed the extra space with a sitting room, a dining room and a full kitchen (we didn't use the dining room). The breakfast was basic but enjoyable, and the wine & cheese hour is a nice touch. Super clean, and the rooms serviced every day. Great location next to Golden Gate Park with all there is to do. Plenty of available Ubers and Waymos to easily get around.

Great location and the breakfast and wine reception were also very nice surprises!
- 5/5
This hotel is a Gem!
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. This place is in a great location.
- 5/5
P.S. maybe the best - paper NYTimes in the lobby!
- 4/5
Friendly, helpful staff. Common areas clean. Location perfect. I had a deluxe queen. The bed was comfortable, small room, a little worn. The location of my room was very noisy. I faced a courtyard, and could hear noise constantly. Ear plugs did the trick. Despite this, I had a great stay, as everything else was perfect. Next time, I would maybe upgrade to a quieter area of the hotel.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 3/5
Poor sound insulation. Easy to hear snoring in other rooms. Ugly carpeting in rooms and hallways. Nice vintage, historic feeling. Cool photos on the walls. Free breakfast is great.
- 5/5
The skateboard park was a little loud and a bit of a surprise! Other than that it was perfect for our needs and we felt very safe.
- 5/5
The location is right next to Golden Gate park but secondarily it is within walking distance from UCSF hospital and clinics. The staff is great for guests that are there to support hospitalized loved ones. I would stay here again just for the access to Golden Gate Park.
- 5/5
Beautifully restored hotel in a great location in the Haight.
- 4/5
The hotel was located close to our family so it was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional.

Clean, friendly staff

Like the fact that you feel like you have known it for years.

Awesome!

Well located by Golden Gate Park and Haight Asbury area. Fun rooms each unique. Staff is friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast evening drinks.
