San Francisco Marriott Union Square

Everyone gave great service and were very polite. Car service was fast no longer than 20 min wait to retrieve the car. Great location by Chinatown and Finacial district. Neighbor was clean and for the most part free of homeless. Would stay here again.

Great room. Loved all the lighting options. Drinks in the bar were ridiculous, $18 for a gin and tonic!

The shower also had a drainage issue, and the water would not drain properly while showering. My experience with the staff was mixed. The staff during check-in were not very welcoming, but the staff at check-out were friendly and helpful. Despite these issues, the hotel has a great location and many positive aspects. I enjoyed the convenience of the area and appreciated the friendliness of the check-out staff. I hope the cleanliness and maintenance standards can be improved, as this property has the potential to provide a much better guest experience.

Good hotel with nice food options for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Staff was very nice. It can be a little noisy outside at night. We were there for two weekend nights. We were on the 11th floor.

Room was great but the view wasn't as expected. Everything else was very nice. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was supposed to be non smoking. Heavy smell of smoke. I will be disputing the whole stay for both rooms. I booked a junior suite for my 50 th birthday and it fell short of what you guys advertise for such rooms. Did not expect this from a reputable Marriott brand

We had a very wonderful stay at the Marriott- Union Square. Our room was upgraded to a jr suite. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Marriott for making us feel at home!!

Great hotel and staff was great. Close to a trolley stop and short walk to other public transportation. Walgreens across the street if needed and also a McDonald’s for quick breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Standard Marriott with clean rooms and a view.

They give you a credit to spend on food and drink, which helps to offset the resort fee you already pay. I'd rather not pay a resort fee at all, and have an option. Gym is very clean. Front desk reception was superb. Valet and doormen excellent!

Breakfast is really good as well. Much better than other hotels. Excellent lounge too. The only complaint that I have, which is for all Marriott hotels, is the quality of pillows. They are way too soft, and they don’t have memory foam pillows

Nice property but unfortunately we stayed on the side facing the road (Sutter) and it was very noisy and I didn’t sleep well. I liked everything about this property including the nice breakfast in the morning and amazing staff who filled us with ideas on what to do. If I stayed here again, I would stay on the other quiet side

Great hotel located just off Union Square and with cable car passing just outside also. Warmly welcomed by staff on arrival. Very nice, well appointed room with all modern features including large television. Gym was small but good with high spec equipment. Size wasn’t too much of a problem as it never got busy. Only small issue was the level of noise as our room was on the street side of the building and on the 5th floor but didn’t really affect overall enjoyment of the stay.

Clean, modern, and relaxing! The view was my favorite part. Got a bay view, night was stunning. Fog rolling in and out, city lights. Gorgeous. Morning view was just as beautiful. Breakfast buffet was an add on but I enjoyed it. Hotel staff is friendly. I would stay again and recommend.

The view was not what the picture of the to showed when booking and the vent did not work in the bathroom and dirty water would drip from the ceiling.

Having to pay for WiFi in this day and age is crazy! Luckily, we’re Bonvoy members so it’s complimentary but bad form that they’re making people sign up to their loyalty programme to get free WiFi. Not a hotel issue - a Marriott chain issue.

I love my stay here. Only thing is the parking fees are to high $60 or $80 a night to much. But the room was nice the shower was amazing.

I like the overall appearance of the hotel, the rooms were nice and everything was central. Only thing that I would NOT recommend is because after we checked out and got ALL paper receipt's for our stay, I looked over it and everything looked fine. Now, 3 days later i'm getting charged for ANOTHER FEE?!?! I called the hotel and they said they couldn't do nothing about it. Which that extra "fee" WAS NOT included on my receipts NOR was I told about any extra fees 3 days after my stay. Ridiculous.

Although our initial experience at checking in with my daughter wasn’t the best the rest of the staff and the rest of our experience during our stay was excellent! All of the staff make us feel like going somewhere familiar like going somewhere with family is taking care of us. Especially the people at the door!

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with great city views. The staff was outstanding—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The only minor downside was that some areas felt slightly dated. A strike was going on, and this detracted from the experience, but I don't fault the property for this. I recommend this hotel; it is great for business travel and is family friendly. I would gladly return.

First time staying here, was perfect for our weekend get away. We got the bay view and wow just wow it was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back anytime we are in the area.

The property was great despite the protests going on outside. It was safe and the staff was very polite. I also enjoyed the bar area and the room was quiet despite the noise outside.

Staff on strike for almost 2 months before we arrived. The front entrance with loud striking workers. This was not disclosed prior to our arrival

4 blocks away from the BART stop (Powel Street). Cable car stop near by as well. Great hotel to stay in while in downtown.

The hotel itself was very nice and staff was great, but some workers were on strike and were picketing right in front of the hotel entrance. Not just walking and carrying signs; no with bullhorns, drums and cymbals! Made it impossible to sit and enjoy a drink at the bar or breakfast in the morning as they were out from 7am-10pm! It would’ve been nice to have a heads up prior to arrival!

The staff could have been much friendlier; interactions felt as though they were doing us a favor rather than providing service. Throughout our stay, there was a strike taking place right in front of the hotel, which added to the overall discomfort. Additionally, there was a lack of clear communication on what the hotel offers, and prices didn’t match what was listed on Expedia. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

This Marriott Property's sevice staff is currently on strike and protesting is going on in front of the hotel. I booked my room months ago, this contract strike started one week before my stay, Marriott Corp chose not to inform their customers. Protesting with bull horns, drums and other loud music went of from 7:30AM to 10:00PM. You could hear it 2 blocks away. You could not get away from the constant racous of angry people. Not only was it loud, it was dangerous. I was escorted to the front desk by security, because the protestors were right in front of the hotel entrance. So suffice to say, our room was filthy and there was no service staff. Marriott should have communicated these unfortunate circumstances to customers who had booked rooms during this protest to give them a choice to make other arrangements. For them to keep this company conflict from their patrons is morally and ethically and maybe even legally wrong. I was told I would not get a refund for my stay. Unreal.

The property was well suited in the Union Square area, close to the shopping and dining options. It felt safe coming and going and the front desk staff was very pleasant. The doormen are also extremely helpful and mannerable.

Good location to main city activities. Professional and friendly staff and front desk team. Valet parking staff were helpful to keep my car charged over night while staying there. Secure valet was a nice addition for that location and overall SF!

They charge a $30 resort fee each day that can be used in the bar or restaurant. The bartenders were very friendly and the service was great. The beds were less to be desired. Small doubles not very comfortable with thin pillows.

Great room, great location, wonderful staff - everything you’d want

One of the few hotels where the resort fee actually added value. $30 daily food or beverage credit, 2 one way tram passes. Location was very convenient. Bar was fantastic to hang out and chill.

The hotel also provided a free credit of USD 30 per room for purchase of food and beverage at the hotel. Plus, they provided 2 tickets for the Cable Car. The hotel is well maintained and an ideal place to stay for a visitor who needs a decent place to stay. Most amenities are provided by the hotel. There’s even a safe in the room to store valuable items. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. They kindly helped us with any enquiries and information requested.

The hotel is at its best location if you want to roam around union square. The room is small but clean. I would like to comment that they dont have usb charger type in the room compared to other 3 star hotels that Ive been to.

It’s a gem in the middle of the jungle. The property was clean, well kept. The staff are nice and accommodating. Hats of to the doormen especially Fernando. ⭐️

I really enjoyed my stay here and wish that I could’ve been there longer to take advantage of how comfortable and safe I felt at this hotel. The bell hopper was always friendly. Checking in was easy and staff at the desk was friendly. I checked in with hailey. She is so sweet! She also helped me with an issue that I had in a timely manner. The room we got was spacious, clean, and unique. We got the room in the corner so there were more windows which was nice. My kids enjoyed it here, and I look forward to staying here again in the future!

I chose this property for 3 reasons, there was 2 beds in the room to accommodate the 3 of us, they have valet and the location. Staff were super friendly. My daughter loved the Cable Cars and I would definitely come back. Thank you Marriott!
