Motel 6 San Francisco, CA – Great Highway

Although the price was reasonable for San Francisco, the property was terrible! The staff told me the motel is scheduled for demolition in January, so there has been no maintenance. The A/C was broken and there were cockroaches. yuch. If you are planning to visit SF, find someplace else.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING This was a horrible experience There was a whole in the wall so bugs came into the room through that hole. There were roaches on the walls and the ceiling. I refused to stay there. I was worried I would bring those roaches home with me. We left we could not stay there at all…

Location is good, near the ocean. All rooms have view to the ocean. Very old property and furniture is broken in the room. No microwave in the rooms

While it was evident that the housekeepers did their job, the rooms had problems. There was mold around the edges of the shower and sink. The first room we were given had a false, cracked window in the back of the room. After we reported someone looking in the window with a flashlight, we were courteously given another room. This one had real windows and felt a lot safer, however, most of the outlets didn't work and the screen on our window in front was broken and bent. There was police activity outside, due to concern with a person sleeping outside (there were several). The staff was kind and helpful to the extent they could be, but due to the general unsafe feeling we had here, we will not return.

Location and price Property was run down, noisy and badly cleaned. The blankets smelled liked they had not been cleaned in between visitors. Kinda like cheese. We stayed four nights and the room was never serviced. The floor had so much sand on it by the end that it was getting everywhere. As we were checking the room for checkout to make sure we did not leave anything, my husband discovered a large blood stain on the sheet that was on the box springs under the dust cover when he lifted it to see if we had left anything. Over all just dirty feeling.

Nice location. Seafood nearby. Lovely bookstore and cafe. Not fancy but clean, walkable, very close to beach, string shower!

It was close to the destination I was visiting. Free parking. Pet friendly with no charge. Close proximity to places to eat and coffee shops. It’s right along the beach too. The room is rather dim. There was a floor lamp that partially worked, a table lamp on the desk that flickered, the light in the bathroom, and a lamp on the night stand. There wasn’t enough light to fill the room. Also, the window was very thin or not fitted tightly. We could hear every sound from outside and there was always a breeze coming through the window even though it was fully closed. The room only had a refrigerated, no microwave, no coffee maker, and no hair dryer.

There was some loud banging noise all night. Did not sleep at all. Thin sheet as a bed covering.

Location was nice. The manager was disguisedly rude and disrespectful. I don’t understand how someone so awful can be working service.

Rooms are very clean. Definitely worth the price and location. Just beware you can hear everything. Every step the person makes upstairs, every noise, everything outside. It was hard to sleep at times.

Found a roach the first night I was there, do not stay here. The place is falling apart and they don’t care to renovate, the tub was chipping, towels smelled so bad of bleach. The employees were rude and unhelpful.

Location was good. THERE WERE RATS! WE COULD HEAR RATS IN THE WALLS ALL NIGHT LONG, AND IN THE MORNING WE FOUND A RAT IN THE BATHROOM! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND THE PLACE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED.

There is no rain for anyone, ever, at any time, to frequent this establishment. They left us without a room and the staff not only was rude but lying. I've never had a worse experience for lodging and I've "slept" on a cross-state bus.

2 times visiting San Francisco and both i stayed here, this location is awesome, 20 min from downtown. It’s tucked away on the local side of San Francisco right across from Ocean Beach. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. The room itself was totally fine like basics, clean beds, working TV, and a fridge for our drinks. No fancy bells and whistles, but honestly, you're paying a fraction of downtown prices and you get free parking. If you want a chill, coastal vibe while exploring the city, definitely book a stay here. I would say parking is hard to find if u come late, since many people go to the beach, lots of pedestrian traffic so its nice, and the taco foodtruck outside really good too.

They make us change 3 rooms atleast and yet the 3rd room again had issues. Water clogging, no AC, the lock broken, telephone disconnected etc. There were many others guests standing in the queue for same reason we went to complain about. The standards low

Location The upstairs neighbor woke up at 3:30 in the morning to what felt like a disco above us. After two nights we had to leave with a promise of a refund from the office. We had asked for a different room and they didn't have any. The upstairs neighbor weren't due to check out.

Comfortable, amazing location, great value. It’s walkable to the beach, Golden Gate Park, and a convenience store, and several coffee shops. Really impressed with the location for the price. A Mexican food truck parks on the corner so there’s food access. I wish the rooms had coffee and microwaves. The vending machine was semi broken, in that things got stuck every time. I had to reach my arm in and wrestle with it every time I needed water or food.

The property was in a nice location just across the beach and very central to things we wanted to see. Staff were pleasant There were 2-3 people loitering the property screaming at all hours of the night, it was actually quite scary. Wouldn’t recommend people with young children stay here. No air conditioning in the room, it was so stuffy and had a funny smell. Only way to let fresh air in was opening the window but then you could hear the people screaming. Mouldly bathroom. Fridge smelt terrible. TV did not work! Wifi did not work! Walls are paper thin and you hear everything above you. Got no sleep on our stay. No housekeeper service our entire stay and had to wait hours for fresh towels. Hardly any working lighting in the room too. The free parking is not convenient and not at the hotel it is mostly public street parking! Overall very disappointed

Motel 6 on the great highway is a quiet place with good parking. It was somewhat old looking but adequate. No shampoo was provided… but it had soap…I had to request another blanket as one night I was cold…i no complaints

Great location and price, but all in all a very 2 star experience...no shower curtain, had to ask for one and put it on myself, lights didnt work, TV was static, ice machine was out of service.

Clean room. Had a few people being loud at night and running around but Front office dealt with it other than that we always stay here staff is always polite. And can’t forget the view as well as have that bike/walking trail literally across the street. Highly recommend.

The pictures for this place are very deceiving! There were exposed wires hanging out of the wall from the missing smoke detector. There was no furniture to sit on besides the bed that had a huge dip in the middle. For some reason, there were too many fridges, But I wasn’t too keen on putting anything in them. The bathroom is old and stained. Basically we left before staying the night. It was loud outside lots of noise. Kids running down the hall. When we walked in the heat was on it was so hot! There is no air conditioning and no way to open the windows. Do not not not stay here!

We we ripped off and NEVER received a refund after turning in our keys! Front desk didn’t issue a receipt for refund! Unreal experience! Stay 100% away! The location was great! The floors were nice. Better furnishings as it looked like it came from a dump and very worn out. The light bulbs in the table lamps didn't work well. The bathroom shower had a rotted out or washed out piece at the bottom entrance of the walk-in shower. Also, the curtains didn't close properly and there was no way to let some light in without being exposed to the street. Thin under curtains would have been nice.

There are rats in the walls. You can hear them running around all night long. Very close to the beach.

We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room. And oh my, the beach was just across the road. Also Golden Gate Park was less than a block away. So many places to walk. Our dog loved it! So nice that they don't charge extra for your fur baby. We had to add an extra day due my wife's surgery recovery plan at UCSF and they were extremely helpful in adding the day at a very reasonable price. The location was perfect. So much for me and the dog to do while my wife underwent surgery. Also, there was a refrigerator in our room!! Perfect!! This is our new go to place to stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel. wish there was more parking available.

We checked in late after midnight. The first room we were given the key card didn't work. We were sent upstairs to a room with no ac, 2 beds had the metal rails sticking out and an old blood stain on the box spring. Very disappointed and disgusted.

Excellent location in front of Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park and extremely good value for SF. Staff was nice and received packages for us. Free parking, free coffee in the mornings, and ocean view from our room. Pet friendly - our two dogs stayed free. No desk if you need to work remotely. We asked the staff for a desk and they didn't have any to spare. The room could use a broom and dustpan since the location next to the beach makes it prone to get sandy quickly, and the cleaning staff doesn't do daily room cleaning. The room had a strange smell when we checked in but it went away after a while, and the interiors are a bit run down. No microwave, couch, or armchair--our room was limited to a small fridge, one cheap plastic chair, a long, narrow table, and the bed, which wasn't the most comfortable.

Outdoor cleanliness

Convenience for my purposes (visiting a friend who lives nearby) and price outweigh the initial impression of a slightly seedy block. The reception fellow was pleasant, warm, and observant. He really was the best asset of the motel. Was worried at first about noise from neighbors, but they weren’t an issue after all. Felt safe and slept well. As a dog owner (didn’t bring him this trip), appreciated the motel is dog-friendly and has plenty of well-stocked poop bag stations. Plentiful parking; good restaurants nearby; ocean across the street.

Was it perfect? No. Was it perfect for us? Absolutely! If you're looking for a great value in the city, to enjoy both Ocean Beach and San Francisco, and you're okay with things being not fancy and a maybe a little moldered,

My family and I stayed at Motel 6 near the Great Highway. The location is great, with the beach right across the street, but that is where the positives end. The front desk clerk barely acknowledged us at check-in. When we walked into our room, it had a strange odor with a car freshener hanging on the mirror. The door had only a deadlock, but you could see the chain was broken off. The T.V did not work and the toilet paper dispenser was broken. The spare room had lots of scraped paint off the door and the window was open when we walked in and all we could smell was trash coming from below. The floor had quite a few soft spots and felt very thin, we were on the second floor. Very sad to say this, worst stay my family and I have ever had.

Helpful staff. It gets the job done for just a bed and a shower between work travel shifts. Bare minimum. Great location next to the beach. Recommend 2nd or top floor due to various noise issues at night/early morning.

It was next to the beach and golden gate park which was nice for morning strolls. However, the wifi did not work and cellular service was very spotty in the rooms. The main entrance has a warning for human trafficking, and some neighbors were very loud late into the evening, which makes it feel a bit unsafe.

I gave an extra star for location ALONE. Faint smell of urine and smoke in the room. The shower didn’t drain and was above my ankles by the end of my shower. This location is in dire need of upgrades. I booked a King room and when I arrived they gave me a double bed room. I was too tired to even try to get it corrected and I truly didn't think the staff would care or listen. It was LOUD but ultimately fine for one night and thats it. The location was really the best part of this stay. It’s literally across the street from the beach and Golden State Park.

The location was excellent, very close to the beach, which made the stay enjoyable. The room had a slightly unpleasant smell, but overall, I appreciated the experience and the hospitality provided. 😊🏨🌊

No breakfast served no complimentary snacks or anything available at site. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet bowl. The toilet ran all day and night which was an annoying sound to hear all night. Toilet didn’t work well. No microwave and room wasn’t cleaned well. A lot of broken items in room night light didn’t work. Some of the power outlets didn’t work

The room was dirty; things were broken; outlet covers were missing (aka safety hazards). The bed was incredibly poor and uncomfortable and lumpy. There was no mirror in the bathroom. There were no outlets. There were rats on the roof.

Great location and value The say there is parking, but not enough for every room. They have some, but then it's public parking across the street.

The best part of this was the location and free parking. Our room was clean, but everything in it was just sloppy. The mattresses were basically cardboard, sunk in weird places, and the one of the frames was missing a leg and a wheel, so it dipped lower than the Dow currently. The shower was accessible and large, but someone had used enough bleach to dissolve body parts to clean it. One of the lamps didn’t work at all, and the bedding was probably older than my elder Millennial self, and was as threadbare as my will to live.

Let's say good things first. The location is excellent. It’s right in front of Ocean Beach. You can walk, jog, ride a bike, or swim. I had a wonderful early morning stroll on the sand. The room is roomy, the beds are clean and comfortable, there are clean towels, and there is a fridge and microwave. I stayed with three teenage daughters, and we literally just checked in late, showered, slept, got up the next day, and left. The toilet sink was cracked and painted over, and the bathtub was almost plugged, so it didn't drain fast. Inside the microwave, there was no turning dish, but it worked. It's Motel 6, but it's pricier per night than other locations because of its location. We slept fine, and I enjoyed the morning St or all at the beach so. I may stay again if I have the chance to visit San Francisco.

If you get rooms 117 118 or 119 be prepared to have a noisy night. The security gate doesn't latch properly so you'll hear it slam. Also a long term tenent has a dog living with them. You'll hear that yipping and scratching around

And there are cafes within walking distance and the Zoo just down the street less than 2 miles away. You could walk there from the hotel on the beautiful Great Highway on Ocean Beach.

I liked the location, of course. That is why I booked it. The room was clean enough, the bed was good. But I enjoy looking forward to watching TV when I get a hotel room. The TV would not work, not even after I went on youtube to look for a remedy. I called the front desk and was told nothing could be done. Very unprofessional to not at least come to the room, or get another remote for me. The next morning, Sam, (I think that was his name), argued with me to the point of raising his voice, and was quite intimidating. I raised my voice, just to try to get a word in edgewise. I was granted a half hour later check out that I requested. Perhaps because he knew that the rooms do not have fully functioning advertised amenities that are posted on booking.com. ? He told me that in a month, the hotel was going to be knocked down for condos. Very strange, because my husband suggests that I try to make a booking a few months out, and I did. The result is that I could indeed make a booking several months in advance. So why would he tell me an untrue thing like that ?I looked all over the internet to see if there were permits and notices issued for this redevelopment, but no, no city plans to demolish Motel 6 in a month. Very strange. I am now also afraid to book ANY Motel 6 locations. Especially this one, becuase of the scary desk person I had to interact with. Frightening and unprofessional staff that have turned me off of the Motel 6 franchise. I think Tom Bodet would be ashamed. I asked for a financial adjustment on my bill for the non working Television set, and Sam told me that when I leave the office, he would adjust my bill. He did not do that, and I received no adjustment. Why would he not make it right ?

Room was clean, bath room was clean, beach view was great, close to convenience stores, parking was first come first serve, there’s public parking across the street but competitive being that it’s at the beach. In a pretty nice area as opposed to other locations in the city.

One of our beds was missing a leg, making it unusable. When our upstairs neighbor took a shower, water dripped down our bathroom window. Almost none of the outlets worked - couldn’t use the tv or charge anything. There was a dead cockroach next to the bathtub. The toilet broke and required maintenance to come out at midnight to fix, and still leaked on the floor after. There was weird scratching noises in the walls, very loud, we have it on video too. The chair completely fell apart when our child sat on it. No screens on any windows, and when the cleaning lady was “mopping” the water literally spilled through our door from outside.

This is a great location for a decent price. Beds are comfortable and shower was clean. But the rooms do have a musty smell. You can open a window but there are no screens. No microwave or coffee in room. But overall a good motel for just a bed and shower. Will stay there again.

There was a man asleep on the stairs outside the room in the morning which was quite alarming. I did not feel comfortable or safe in this room and would advise against staying here. I will not stay here again.

It was the dirtiest motel I’ve ever slept in. There was black mold around the bedroom window in the back and it smelled something awful! One of the cleaning ladies I had asked for towels was rude to me. I hated this place. I would have switched hotels had I known it be this horrible. But it being valentines weekend I had no options. Never again would I ever stay here!!

The hotel is on the street. Anyone can pull into any of hotel parking space. So hard to park especially on weekend. Street parking can be taken by some homeless cars. There is no place to sit outside the room, it is right on the street and noise level is high. The streets can be busy plus sea breeze can bring beach dust to cover everything. We got this place on a deal, which made it very worth it. Is it the best room you’ll ever stay at? No, but is it a great location with beach, Golden Gate Park and lots of food spots nearby? Yes it absolutely is and the staff members are nice and efficient.

The beach access is great. Unfortunately the first night there was no working heat. The 2nd night we were provided a space heater. There was mold in the shower, and there were bugs in the room.

The room was dirty. There was sand all over the floor. The shower was broken and it took management sending someone to the room twice to get it fixed. The TV was on the wrong table and we just about fell over the cable that was stretched across the room just inside the door. I would not recommend that anyone stay at this Motel 6 .

Definitely a hidden mold issue in this room. You could smell at the moment you entered. Walking in the bathroom and turning on the light. I was greeted by a cockroach. There was flaking paints off the door frame. Overall, it's quite clear. There's a lot of deferred maintenance on this building and the roach was just a little too friendly for my life

If you want to have a room full of flies, refrigerator leaking or the handle to shower broken then this is the place for you. Area is surrounded by homeless people living in their cars. I did go to front desk to ask for another room. He couldn’t 1st night because he was fully. But we can switch rooms next day. He never reached out to me to do so. Will never come back or recommend!

Little care has been taken to maintain this property. It gave me the creeps. There were holes in the ceiling in the walkway outside my room. The light plug sparked when touched. The bathtub had debris in it. The chest of drawers was broken and the furniture was mismatched. I paid for 2 nights I did not use and went to a decent hotel. Other than that it was swell!

The location is great. Not many amenities, but they weren’t missed. A clean room that’s in a fantastic location; I would definitely rent again.

The motel is old. You can feel the springs in the bed. The room was dirty and broken down. I don't have high standards and it was bad! The motel is incredibly noisy. There was a taco truck in their parking lot outside our room so crowded we could not park. There was booming rap music all night and people yelling. No one in the motel cares about their guests or service.

WE did have a small view of the ocean waves and a frig beds are very comfortable, shower curtain rod was a spring loaded device that had no spring so was marginal to keep up. we had only one chair in the room for two queen beds but other wise functional.

Great location. The dunes are right out your window and short walk to beach. Great price. Don’t expect anything fancy. It’s a very simple room. Much older. Room was very clean though! Highway is kind of dirty looking. I did see homeless quite a bit as well. It’s a noisy area and people coming and going can be loud and our room was right by the stairwell, lots of loud echoing voices. The roof felt stuffy each time we returned it. It met our needs, just a place to sleep and shower. Gone all day every day! Great fir kids and family’s and pets too

I didnt like the roaches, the mold in the bathroom, the lack of room service, or the lack of customer service skills.

This hotel is not fit for any traveler. There appears to be absolutely no management or care for cleanliness, safety or upkeep. The smoke detector had a plastic bag tied over it. The room was filled with gnats and flies. The windows were so filthy could not see out of them. The closet had no hangers. The water pressure in the shower was very low and the water luke warm at best. There were holes in wall. The hotel ice machine was broken and when asked about it there was no plan to ever fix it. There is no coffee machine or microwave. The small refrigerator has no frozen compartment. The manager office was closed on one morning with no way to contact anyone. We were told the hotel is set to be torn down for affordable housing which would explain the lack of any concern for guests.

Room was too basis. Two towels and two tiny bars of soap. No AC, no air movement in room. Choose carefully if you want these no frills!

Needs udated but nice and close to the beach, that is what made everything ok. The parking sucks, they allow a food truck to park in the parking area making finding a spot very annoying. Then you come out and people are leaning on your car even more annoying. The guy was nice rooms are very basic but over all for 1 night it was ok. If i was staying longer i would look into something else.

The staff was nice and the rooms were decently clean but the only thing I didn’t like was the cleaning staff would never come in to check on us to ask if we need more towels or toilet paper. I would literally have to look for them to ask them.

Worked for what we needed. Had an actual bedroom with a door for our son to use. TV didn’t appear to get any channels, and looked like there should have been another remote for it, but we couldn’t find one. No free coffee in the lobby like the sign at check in said there was. The floor in places was uneven like there had been some water damage. But it was clean, safe, and convenient to GG Park and the beach.

This was the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It was dirty, poor repair, no screens on any of the windows, dirty sheets, dirty bathroom, and in poor condition. Floors were dirty and in poor condition. Very noisy. People screaming. We were woken up in the middle of the night from the person above us, throwing things around and falling on the floor repeatedly. Overal bad experience

Close to a nice beach n high marks to the Coffee / Sandwich shop a couple blocks away. Outside the peak temps of summer ok while traveling. Can't say I would feel safe out at night but then that agrees with most of my impression of SF. Much more comfortable once I drove north of SF.

This was the Absolute Worst Place I have ever stayed at. Apon arriving we were greeted without a "Hello or Hi" only a rude "Can I Have you ID" we het to the room and half of the lights in the room don't work, no AC in the room (the room felt like an oven), and lets talk about the sorry excuse of a bed. That bed Im pretty sure is just a Bix Spring and no mattress. It was the hardest sleeping experience ever in my life. We would have brought these issues up to the staff but they seemed careless and Incompetent.

There are large dogs in a few rooms as well if you like to travel with your animal.

The location and price were the the main selling points. It is right next to the ocean and the beach was awesome. The hotel itself was okay. The room was large but could use some touch ups. For one night it was exactly what we needed!

We had a 3 queen bed Suite booked for our stay. In the first room given to us, the bathroom lights were not funcitonal. In the second room we got there were roches in the bathroom and the bed seemed a little crookecked. We shifted again to the initial room but the staff also gave us a second room to use it's restroom. Finally the lights in the initial room worked when I snaped the switch very fast so we didn't use the second room. This all happened at 1AM in the night and overall put a bad experience for us.

This was a great location, being an easy walk to Golden Gate Park and also across the street from the beach. There is an amazing little beach cafe that’s just a 4 minute walk south, that we ate at every day. That is all worth staying there since there is no other hotel there. We were charged exorbitant rates because of it being a concert weekend in the park and the proximity. The front desk staff was friendly. Our room was a basic motel 6 room, no coffee maker or microwave. Broken blinds, we asked for clean towels on the 3rd day and were told that they would bring them up- housekeeping never came to our room during the 4 night stay. No towels, no clean anything. There was a good deal of mold in the bathroom and also on a door beside the bed. Luckily there was no sign of bugs that we could tell. With housekeeping and mold removal- could have been a good place.

I’m very satisfied with the Motel 6. The room was clean. The manager and staff were helpful. It’s right by the ocean. The rates are the most reasonable. I seriously hope to return year after year.

My husbands key card opened another rooms door by accident on his part. The security lock was broken the tv didnt work. The curtains were old and half broke. No AC. The room was hot. No screens on any window to open and let fresh air in. The heat was on constantly. Could t adjust the thermastat.

The photos are not representative of the property's condition. One of the drawer fronts was missing, as well as a handle needed to close the window in the bathroom. Also, the tub was stained and there was mold on the caulk near the sink. Finally, we were on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Thankfully no one messed with out vehicle.

The proximity to the ocean is amazing. The hotel left a lot to be desired. The rooms were dirty but at least the sheets were clean. The ac/heat unit had missing knobs and next to a burnt out outlet. Hotel was very noisy with patrons running along the hallways and knocking on random doors. Furniture was busted out and lamps had no shades. Opted not to shower during the stay because of cleanliness.

It was a short stay for us. We loved that it was ocean front! It’s a little noisy since you have to keep the window open to cool down the room but it was an all night disruption. Our room was missing the security lock on the door. The room was clean and suited our needs since we really only spent time in the room to sleep.

I’ve stayed in other properties with the same rating and felt that it was cleaner and safer than I felt in this hotel. I have minimum expectations when staying in a budget hotel, but I don’t think that a clean room, bedding that’s not stained, furniture that isn’t broken, walls that don’t have weird substances on them, a sink that can drain or “clean” towels that don’t have mysterious hair on them is too much to ask for. Positives are location, it was quiet and the front desk person was friendly.

Great location! It was my first time at a Motel 6. It was clean, but total BARE bones! There were NO extras. No blankets (I slept with a sweatshirt on & used my jacket as a blanket), no hair dryer, Kleenex, toiletries, coffee maker, or anything else. Towels were kid sized! Check in was easy. Bed was on the hard side & I could feel springs. If I ever stay here again, I would bring all of the above to make my stay better. But we loved the location. Maybe 2.5 stars, not 3.

The property is near the beach but thats literally the only perk. There isnt a range of walkable dining/cafe options around the area, which is a bummer. The rooms themselves are plain and dated, the wall outlets were loose and nothing stayed plugged in, there appeared to be mold in the shower and over all there were "short cuts" in the room and bathroom, the heater/ac is in a corner and carved into a wall that is unconventional, the shower had a short curtain and there was very apperant water damage along the base of the shower. Minor things like no toilet paper holder are just a mild inconvenience. The front desk was helpful, they got me a new fridge in a timely manner. The housekeeping staff is another story, they were rude and unpleasant each day I ran into them. Overall its good if youre pasing through the area with low low low expectations

Microwave won’t heat. Blinds have major holes in it. Shower handle broke. Tv remote broke and the clarity of tv reminds me of days of moving rabbit ears to get better reception. Called front desk multiple times and no answer. Looks like all kinds of people sleeping in cars in parking lot. AVOID THIS PLACE IF IT IS THE CHEAPEST ITS NOT WORTH IT. Tried to complain to staff or owner and he literally threaten to beat my a$$ and told me to get off the property. The pictures are lies.

I've stayed at probably 100+ Motel 6 locations and this is my favorite. You can see the ocean from the room and the staff has taken good care of us.

I like the location is convenient! However, minimum amenities were provided. Guests will need to bring their own shampoo and conditioner.

Everything was great and expected for this level of motel. Dud see a cockroach in the bathroom but other than that really clean and great location.

We were coming from a different hotel which we had to check out of at 11am with our luggage, so we had asked to check in earlier. They originally said yes but the guy who was working when I came said 2 at the earliest. We decided to just wait outside since we had a lot of luggage and I’m assuming the manager saw us and within four minutes he was able to get us a room. I was very happy about that accommodation!! The room was very nice and the bed was comfy! I would stay again!

One room tv did not work. Main area only had a single small lamp for lighting. And bathroom had no where to hang anything.

We loved our stay! Our window faced a gorgeous cypress tree in the dunes of the ocean. We could see the ocean from the deck in front of our room. The whole thing was magical and incredible. We loved how nice it was. They’ve redone the floors so they were gorgeous and the beds were that super fancy hotel bed set up. They were just amazing. It is true that they haven’t spent the money to repaint and do all the different really expensive upgrades but who cares? You walk out your front door and you were on the beach it was out of this world! We stayed in the suite which we highly recommend if you’re traveling with a family it was an entire bedroom with a king size bed and then the main room with two queen size beds. It was perfect. It was basically unbelievable by San Francisco standards. I’ve stayed in boutique hotels in San Francisco that were smaller than the bathroom of this place. It was just so wonderful for traveling witha afamily.

The hotel is falling apart, broken furniture, stained bathroom sink, towel bar broken, broken curtain rod (curtain hanging off at ends), no screens on windows, mismatched lamps, stained and broken lampshades, floor dips in several areas.

Sketchy area with homeless people around. Not a good place for travellers

Sheets smelled unclean, room was dark , musty with broken down furniture, no ice machine, no blankets, hardly any towels, dumpy energy all around. Save your money. Don't be fooled by oceanfront and deceptive pictures.

Grayish-white walls made it look like an insane asylum; not comforting! No color at all; 2 gray pictures didn’t do much for the lackluster appearance. My window wouldn’t close properly and had a space where air came in. The staff seemed irritated by any request so I didn’t bother them. The room had a desk as you walk in, but no lamp there or any writing materials or anything. With no overhead lights only cheap low light lamps that didn’t give off any brightness. The curtains looked worn and there was not at least privacy curtains so that you could open the main ones and let some light in. I’m on the first floor and I’m a woman alone. I didn’t open curtains and have everybody looking in. All budget hotels have these things: a coffee maker and ice! They had the nerve to have an ice bucket with bags and when I ask about the ice machine, they said they didn’t have one. This is not budget. This is prison status. And the closet is open, which makes it look unfinished they could’ve put up curtains or real doors. And there’s this weird window at the end of the hall and again no curtain or shade. The bathroom didn’t have a soap dish or a facial tissue box. Hello! Dollar Store has these! Disappointing, depressing. Looks like they’re just counting on their location only and put no effort in because they’re by the ocean. This isn’t acceptable other budget hotels do much better!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our was clean and comfortable. Parking was easy as well. I will definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I stay here because it is very decently priced for today’s standards. Not necessarily motel 6, lol. But it’s walking distance to the beach and in the best location so we come back. Just know it’s for the area around it not the actual motel. The sink was broken. It worked but the faucet would move all around and you have to hold it down and then turn it on. There was just a bed in the front room with no chair but massive space for one and the pictures had a chair in them. The back room has no tv in it but the tv in the front is easily movable between rooms. Other than that we will return but know this place isn’t luxury by any means. It is motel 6, but it is not the worst place out there. We will go back, just wanted people to know where they’re staying and what to expect. Last time we stayed we stayed with our kids and that room was perfectly fine and set up.

Lack of shampoo in shower. Parking in front of room often a problem. Otherwise, we like this motel for its location.

People staying there were loud. Inside the hotel was dirty. There was parking away from my hotel room.

Great location also for visiting Golden Gate park.

The room I had was a huge king size bed room downstairs next to the office. Easy to public access and the Ocean Beach local was rather nice. Hotel was ok but I would stay there again, it can be loud but most guest were polite and parking was so easy so I would stay here again for the price and close to ocean and mobility breeze. Ocean has a nice walkway too. Not the typical loud Motel 6 guest.
