The fastest speed I saw was 5 mgb but it dropped to .5 mgb most of the time.

Cheap, clean, surprisingly quiet, and parking in the San Francisco Marina area = Amazing value. If you just need a place to sleep, this is perfect.

Very easy check in. I arrived slightly early and the front desk was able to accommodate an early check in. Plenty of available parking in a private lot. The room was clean and comfortable.

If I had to give a small negative It would have to be that it's off a busy street so once in a while you would here cars. The staff was excellent and very friendly. I give this place a 10/10 and would definitely stay again in the future.

This is a very basic value motel which offers free parking. The room I was in was one of the farthest from the street, and it was quiet. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the bathroom was perfectly functional. No frills. For the purpose of this trip it worked fine.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks. Bed is large and comfy, and the room is adequate with a little couch. The housekeepers are really nice. There's a little window for some sunlight though you'll want to turn on the light during the day. Great stay, no weird smells. Only thing is you will hear laughing/drunk people/bar music on the weekend nights but just turn on the ac/heater and it will drown them out haha.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was quite big and clean. The motel has a great location and is very accessible. The shower curtain sticks to you whilst showering, which could probably be fixed with a different type of rod. Also, the parking was very tight, but you can't do much about that.

The parking is free as I stated though. It's a super small little alley where you must be comfortable in doing multi point turns. It fills up super fast but there's an extra lot. Which is also a tiny alley. So as long as your a good driver and you don't have a giant vehicle it's all good!

Great location near the Marina, fun neighborhood with many places to eat within walking distance. Rooms are good typical no frills motel rooms, clean and well maintained. Parking was free and always available in the two lots, a little tight but no complaints for free abundant parking. We stayed in the family suite with two rooms, great space for family with kids. Had all the simple amenities.. We had no issues but arrived late and staff was always available and accommodating. Would stay here again in the future. A simple gem!

A nice and clean hotel for the one night stay. Bed was clean and comfy. Walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. Parking it’s included with the room. very narrow push your side mirrors in. It’s a good hotel if you’re staying a night or two.

But there were just so many little things that bugged me to the point I checked out early: I found I wasn't able to get any work done on my laptop, in part because it was just a cramped work space with the desk chair practically bumping up against the bed - but more because the WiFi kept dropping off. The TV just didn't work (aside from turning on and showing static). I didn't bother asking for assistance. I don't like having to ring the bell any time I want to enter the front office. I wasn't impressed that the person at the front desk couldn't explain to me how to make an outgoing call from the phone in the room. (For whatever reason, I couldn't get a signal on my cell phone.) I was in a first-floor room and heard so much noise coming from the room above me. I can attribute only so much of that to the parties above me being loud; it seemed like the ceilings were just super-thin. Bottom line is, there are better places to stay around here for around the same price. In a pinch, I might return, but my other go-tos would all have to be booked or charging a lot more.

Location is great

PROs: -Clean room and bathroom, albeit it is an old building. -Mini Fridge and Coffee Machine -Air conditioning -Safe neighborhood with dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and eateries in walking distance and all real local joints. -Free Parking CONs: -Old building could use a fresh paint job -Old rooms could use a refurbish. -Very small room. -Mattress could use replacing, but the sheets were clean and pillows nice. -Definitely not for a romantic weekend getaway. I might spend a little extra next time to stay somewhere nicer, but if you're on a budget this place will do just fine.

Thread bare torn sheets. Torn shower curtain. Bed lamp with non-working-USB port and defective electric outlet burned up my USB charger and damaged the charging function on my smart phone. No restitution yet for damages to my personal property.

The facilities are fine. Clean and up-to-date for an older classic motel. Our bed really sagged on the side because the box springs are totally worn out. Not much problem when sleeping though. We stayed on a Saturday night and we were right at the top of the main stairs by the office. People were very noisy all night. I think there were some young people hanging out at the bottom of the stairs through the night. The motel is near a busy intersection. Although traffic was not heavy through the night, there were several loud cars and motorcycles with loud music, booming for several minutes at a time. If it were quieter, I would have rated this much higher. Bring earplugs!

The room smelled too much like Fabuloso cleaner! It was a stench. The comforters also smelled bad. If it didn't smell so bad, it would've been a good experience. The shower worked fine and there was free parking.

Parking is horrible. The spots are not very big, no room to turn around you basically have to back all the way out of the parking lot into the street. Thankfully we got there when there wasn’t very many people there and we were able to turn our truck around and back into the spots. We didn’t drive anywhere until we left because of it, Took Lyft everywhere. The power went out our last night there for several hours. One of the staff members was super friendly, younger gentleman. The room itself was pretty ran down and not the cleanest. The pictures of the bathroom in the advertising did not match what it is. I’m not sure how it got an excellent rating on Expedia.

I had a solid connection the whole time, but the speed was so low that I found it faster to use my cell phone's wireless service

What a Gem of a property!!! This is our second stay at The Lombard Plaza Motel, and Everything was beyond great. Beautiful room, Free Parking on site which just doesnt happen in SF. The staff goes above and beyond, and my partner and I are already looking forward to our next stay here in the fall.

Next day there was banging on the door. We ignored it. The banging persisted and got louder and wouldn't stop. I opened the door and there was a homeless man begging for a shower. Parking lot was terrible to get in and out of. Would not stay here again.

No complaints about the room or it's cleanliness. It met all of our needs. One should know that the parking is very tight. It is also on a busy street with night life, so expect some noise.

This place was pretty good. Our room was very clean overall. The water pressure was great in the shower. A few cons were parking gets pretty packed in the evening and if you’re staying on first floor you can hear the footsteps from second floor room. The WiFi worked but our cell signal was faster. A/C, mini fridge, microwave all worked and clean. Other than that, restaurants were near by but you do have to drive or take public transportation to China town, pier 39, or fisherman’s wharf.

The room reeked of cigarette smoke, the smoke detector had been stolen, the tv was shattered and didn’t work, the bathroom floor tiles were cracked and the toilet was tipping sideways like it was sinking in the floor. At 4 am we were awoken by a domestic dispute of a couple screaming and yelling at each other for a good half hour. When I called the front desk, the person said “i don’t know what to do” and I said “could you call the cops?” He told me “you can call the cops, i don’t know what to do.” We were booked for two nights but we checked out early the next morning and refused to stay another night.

THE REVIEWS ARE WRONG. GUESSING SOMEONE FROM THE HOTEL FILLED IN MULTIPLE REVIEWS, Parking was near impossible for anything other than a compact car. Would NOT recommend.

The room was clean. The staff were amazing. Parking is a little rough for a bigger vehicle. There is no drive thru or turn around spots but I felt lucky to find somewhere with free parking.

I arrived for an afternoon event at Fort Mason. Although my event started at 1:30 PM and check-in was after 3:00 PM, the front desk employee 'Eric' was extremely kind and said that it would be fine to leave my car in their parking area. That was a relief because I was planning to walk to Fort Mason from the Motel. The room was very comfortable. Everything worked as it should, (television, plumbing, hot water, etc., plenty of towels and a comfortable bed. Great location on Lombard Street with access to shopping and restaurants. Take a walk along Chestnut Street or go down to Marina Green and waterfront.

The motel is located in the downtown, it's walkable to popular areas with lots of dining options and public transport. I like that they have coin laundry facilities (they have the coins too). Free parking is also provided, which is rare in downtown SF. The only thing I feel unfortunate was my neighbor (3 men) were very noisy even at midnight and they were smoking and littering. Next time the staff should warn annoying people like them.

Not only are they incompetent, but the deadbolt lock does not stop someone with a key card. I sent the Motel Management a message on the Expedia App, but have heard nothing in three days now.

I was pleasantly surprised. You think of an old motel and one usually passes. But it was updated, clean, sufficient for our needs. Economical and centrally located.

The motel was noisy. You can hear the people upstairs thumping around, the parking lot is an echo chamber for all the street and sidewalk and other visitors noise. The room was extremely basic and not a half-way modern touch in the room except maybe the TV. There is a refrigerator and coffee pot. Takes quite a while to get hot water in the sink. Wifi was not always working. They did have additional parking behind the hotel when the regular lot was full. You would be staying here simply for price, parking and proximity and there are slightly better options around.

True hidden gem in San Francisco! Extremely reasonable rates - and we saved even more booking through Expedia. We stayed in a double queen room. It was very clean. The beds and pillows were super comfy. Appreciated the sink/vanity being separate from the toilet/shower area. The neighborhood felt safe and there were bus stops nearby in every direction. We didn't need it, but there is free on-site parking for those traveling by car. The motel is next to a bar, so that can get a bit loud at night (along with traffic noise), so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to consider packing earplugs. There is someone at the front desk 24/7 and they are always super friendly, very attentive to any request, and quick to reply to online messages. Highly recommend this motel and can't wait to stay here again when we return to SF :)

Parking was really tight. We got there early and not many cars in lot and got backed into the parking space. Otherwise would have to back all the way out of lot. Room was clean and bed and pillows comfortable. There 3 nights and maid was never in to replace towels or coffee packets. Had to find her cleaning other rooms to get clean towels. The rooms are nice, large, and well maintained and furnished except they don’t provide nasal tissues. Really, $185 for a room and no tissues? They have free parking, a rarity in SF, although it’s narrow and tight backing out. The big problem on weekends is there’s a noisy night club next door. Loud, inebriated young people spill out of the bar and hang out on the sidewalk in front of the hotel until 2:30 a.m. Ask for a room away from the street!

We slept with the window open and the bathroom fan running to bring fresh air inside although that didn't clear out all the fragrance. It seemed the bedding had been washed with Fabuloso. Other than that, the room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. One other issue that could be a problem for someone with a mold/mildew allergy is that the room heater showed signs of that when we looked inside of it. (The front cover is easy to remove and replace.)

Only minor issue was the bathroom floor tile in our room was broken and uneven and sinking, and in the other room the toilet tank chain came loose a few times. Also, would have been nice to have some facial tissue. Otherwise a great stay and we'll come back for sure.

The staff did a good job. Unfortunately who ever was upstairs my first 2 nights... stayed up super late (past 1am), and woke up at 6am on the dot both mornings.......... Maybe the didn't even sleep lolololol! The floors are so squeaky and you can hear everything. They were loud. Not the staffs fault. They offered to switch me rooms if I wanted to stay until 12 noon to make the switch (I came into office at 9am) I said, well I have a full itinerary for the day.. I'll give it one more night and if its madness I'll switch. Thank goodness the folks upstairs checked out that day and the new folks were quiet. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. Hidden gem! A motel within walking distance of Fisherman's Warf and easy access to excellent public transportation. Rooms are recently renovated and cute. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. Free, convenient parking!! If you need to do laundry, there are limitations. Otherwise we highly recommend!

They were a little rude about me staying in the same room when I was told I had to check out and check back in. Maid barged into my room without knocking and then proceeded to complain to me while I’m in my underwear about checking out and checking back in for about 3 minutes. Then while I was gathering my things and getting dressed I’m assuming the front desk lady or manager came by and barraged me 1min later.

Very accommodating. Old property, but serviceable. No frills, but you are there for the city/neighborhood. Great location. Parking is rough for larger vehicles, but its SF.

Location was great, staff was very friendly, and rooms were clean and spacious. However, the wifi was horrible. It worked fine for about 2 hours then it was horrible for the rest of the 4 days I was there. They would reboot it everytime I or another guest called and it would work fine for like an hour then it would be back to being horrible again.

There are 2 bars on either side of this motel so it was noisy on weekend nights.

Guy at the front desk was really awesome and helpful. Doing your location. Room was Bare mountains but great for what we needed it for. Clean for the most part. Parking is a huge bonus

unfortunately the mattress was old and squeaky, the wood boards upstairs were old and creeky and amplified the upstair guest's footsteps. The Fridge was loud at the middle of the night occasionally. But there was a good selection of tv channels and the motel seemed clean but aged.

This place is a GEM! Great location with lots to do around where we stayed. Staff was incredible and made our family's stay very memorable!

Property was right on a busy street in a probably not so good area but hotel and parking lot were safe. Front desk staff was awesome and nice. Room was clean and kept the noise out. Worth it for 1 night w/ plenty of bars and dining options for the following day.

Check in was easy and the room was clean. Basic hotel with basic amenities. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is because when the neighbors turned on their shower at 7am it sounded really loud in our room and woke me up.

Decent motel in a good and practical location. Our room was big and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The fridge and microwave were a nice touch. The price was reasonable for San Francisco. The staff was friendly. The major drawback was the horrible internet: it occasionally worked well, but it more often than not either was very slow or simply kept dropping off. All we needed was basic internet for work (sending and receiving emails and suchlike); we don’t do any streaming or gaming. We reported the issue twice to the front desk and were told that they were going to put a note to have the connection checked. Nothing happened. If you need reliable internet (for work or any other reason), it might be a good idea to stay somewhere else. If, however, the internet is of no importance to you, then the Lombard Plaza is worth a try.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel with our two children to celebrate our anniversary. The location of the hotel was great. Ghirardelli square was a 20 minute walk and pier 39 was maybe a 30 minute walk plus there was a bus stop right next to the hotel that would take you to pier 39 or the golden gate welcome center. It was clean and comfortable. I didn’t always feel super with my teenage daughter but it was ok. The doors could use those chain locks on them and that would have made me feel much better. We had an older man that seemed to be living in the room next to us and his door was constantly open and at times he made feel uncomfortable because he would purposely walk back and forth in front of our door. All in all I probably wouldn’t stay here again mainly for the safety factor.

Very nice staff, and very clean.

It was our first time staying there and I must say it was very pleasant. It was quiet super clean very convenient walkable to dining places and a short Uber drive is between $7 to $10 to pier 39 or 30 min walk. Really close to the gooden gate bridge, the arts pillars, parks, beaches etc would stay there again! Super affordable too!

We stayed for 2 nights. 2 adults 2 kids. Now on first glance this place doesn’t look like much but mannn it was clean, like really clean. The beds were comfortable, fridge works better than mine at home. Close to the pier and the science museum we came for. Will definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff and even gave us extra towels. For the price it was a great value. The only thing to complain about was it was near a loud and busy road.

Many places within walking distance

It is an older property, but freshly painted with nice updates. The two room suite with high ceiling felt roomy and served two adults and 3 children nicely. The woman at the front desk was lovely. Kept our luggage for us until we finished at The Academy of Sciences. There are some older parts of the room that could use replacement (hardware on doors) but overall it was clean, roomy and was perfect for a quick getaway in SF with our grandkids at a very reasonable price.

Bed is great! The only reason I don’t give it 5 starts for comfort are the pillows!

Just a quick trip to San Fransisco for my husband and myself. The hotel was nice & clean, staff was friendly but did not understand English well. Only complaint is the mattress is old and horribly uncomfortable.

Staff was awesome & we were within walking distance to all the bars & the oceans.

Our room with a comfortable king size bed was exceptionally clean. It had a good rolling chair at the desk, and and a very comfortable sitting chair. It also had a small size refrigerator that worked well, a hot water/coffee maker, and a microwave oven. The flat screen television was very nice with many channels. There was free Wi-Fi. There was plenty of hot water for showers or baths. It had a large bathtub/shower combination. It also had very nice travel sized soaps and shampoo. The heater/AC controls were easy to understand and worked well. We could easily adjust the temperature and turn it on and off. We had a room on the 1st floor toward the back, and it was quiet, despite being on a busy street. It was convenient to walk to buses and eating places on Chestnut and Lombard streets. The man at the front desk and the cleaning lady were very helpful and friendly. We felt safe at this motel. The parking lot and the doors outside the rooms were well lit. The Marina neighborhood is a relatively safe part of San Francisco.

Second time staying here, great service and it’s always so clean. The cleaning ladies are always so sweet as well. Also it’s very conveniently located near several great bars!

Parking was a problem!

It felt safe,check in was quick, in walking distance to a lot of places. The parking lot is very small and hard to navigate but I’m thankful there was parking so I’m not complaining

Parking was tight, but there were enough spots for everyone, and best of all, it was free. As for the surrounding area, the unfortunate fact is the Marina District isn’t as nice as it once was. A homeless person harassed me for food when I was a block away from the hotel. On the other hand, the Lombard Street area between Van Ness and the Presidio is the best you are going to get in terms of cheap hotels that have free parking, and I’d say the Lombard Street Motel is one of the best in that area of town.

Our room was not sound proof so you could hear a bit of the traffic that goes by and the near by park. There must of been an event going on that night because you can hear the sound of their cheers. Also, the parking spots would not be so convent for large vehicles, the parking spaces are very tight and to exit the motel you have to back all the way out to the street. But for the price I paid, I would not might coming back again to save on $$.

Fantastic location with excellent free parking. Room was comfortable, clean, and had microwave, fridge/freezer, and a really great shower and bathroom. The location is really first class, right in the action on Lombard Street, and felt close to everything. I would definitely stay here again!
