Funky, well-located hotel 2 blocks away from Union Square and the end of the Cable Car line. Coffee service not so great but the restaurant has breakfast you can buy. The room was good and not like a box hotel which we liked.
- 5/5
We had a great time at this hotel in the heart of Union Square. We were lucky to get a room towards the back on the sixth floor, so it was pretty quiet. The vibe of the hotel is great and the rooms were painted dark shades of black and dark green. Beds were comfy & bathroom was fun!

We stayed in the family room, which is essentially two studio-style spaces sharing one bathroom, with a sofa bed and two full/queen beds. It worked well for our family of five — just know there’s no real privacy. Things took a turn on our second night when I discovered a used thong rolled up near the curtains. I’m particular about where I stay and chose this hotel specifically because of the reviews. I had already been letting a few things slide — the bathroom light wouldn’t turn off, the mini fridge smelled like old food, the gym had no sanitizing wipes when I was there at 7:30am, and the room had only 3 towel sets for a space meant to sleep 5-6. I was giving the benefit of the doubt, chalking it up to being overly picky. The underwear I could not let go. When I brought everything to the hotel’s attention, their response addressed the towels first — with an explanation of their policy — which felt a little defensive given the bigger issue at hand. They did waive the amenity fee and offered a room change, which I declined since we were checking out the following morning. I appreciate that they responded, but I won’t be returning. On a bright note — the attached restaurant was a highlight. Incredibly warm staff, great food, and the guacamole was amazing.

Nice lobby, and fun with the games downstairs. Big and very comfy bed. Pretty disappointed overall! Paid $260 for one night, expected better amenities - no tea/coffee in the room, no conditioner in the shower, bedside lamp didn't work. Biggest issue was the smell - you could tell it's a pet friendly hotel. We were also initially upgraded to a suite, which was not at all what we were after being split into tiny bedroom + office, but the smell was so bad we had to move to our original double room, which was much nicer. Also, sliding doors with such big gaps for the bathroom is quite awkward when sharing. We were up all night with noise from the street - glass recycling at 3am?! - but not much the hotel can do about that.

It was a nice hotel for a quick stay in the city. We stayed there to be close to August Hall. The theme was fun throughout

Great check in, reasonable valet for SF, nice size room and roomy bathroom.

LOVE the hotel and the vibe. Room was super comfortable and well equipped. Only hiccup was housekeeping. They didn't come to my room the first day and when I requested service on the 2nd day I had to ask twice. But front desk staff was very helpful. Really nice affordable hotel with lots of great dining options nearby. I recommend Lost Cat up the block for outstanding cocktails and The Heist for killer breakfast.

I had late check out and the hotel charged twice. I noticed that and email to the hotel on May 9th and no one has respond to me until a local friend of mine help me sort it out. Until now, the hotel still didn’t explanation or properly apologise the inconvenience causes. The experience is really awful and very disappointing! Also, the front staff an Asian guy who is very rude and unhelpful. And the hotel never did the house keeping during my stay.
- 4/5
Great location with a cool vibe. Could use more staff at checkin and at the restaurant/bar
- 2/5
The $35 per night "guest amenities fee" that this property charges is a joke. I understand that more and more hotels are misleading their customers by revealing such charges only in the small print, but customers should reject this trend by avoiding hotels that do it and giving appropriately low ratings when we are fooled into staying at one. If you offer an amazing resort, fine, charge extra for accessing it, but here we're talking about a tiny, subpar exercise room.

Room was very spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Great central location in SF.
- 3/5
The glasses in the room smelled terrible, as if they had been wiped with a dirty cloth. We arrived with large suitcases, but no one at the reception offered to help us. Don’t expect a nice clean view when you open the dusty blinds, you’ll see very dirty windows.
- 2/5
This hotel is worn out and run down. Smells like cigarette smoke, no amenities, the only good thing was the location. I would not stay here again.

Location is good, you can reach anywhere in a short time by subway or taxi. I’m sorry to mention this, but there was often a smell coming from the bathroom into the room.

I needed a hotel in this area for two nights after returning from Korea. Perfect site for the job. Excellent location. Easy to get around. Great diners and coffee shops close by--including right next door! The room was clean and servicable. I wasn't going to spend much time in the room but it was clean and comfortable. If you're going to SF for a long stay and you're traveling w/ somebody, this might not be the best call. But if you want to be in a greate neighborhood and enjoy walking (Fairmont Hotel is ten minutes away as is Unions Square;the MOMA is also an easy walk) this is a cool place to stay.

Location was perfect the game room was awesome. Beautiful hotel. A superior king and a deluxe king were basically the same. Rooms were tiny and for the price I could have save money wirh a double queen or got a one of the suites with teo rooms. No parking vouchers or parking at all. So $50 for one day plus rhe almost $600 rooms was not worth it. Thought we would have conjoined rooms. They were next to eachother. I told front desk id change rooms if necessary. A two queen bed but nope

Easy check in and nice staff. I upgraded my room, but wonder what my room would have been if I hadn’t. It was dirty, the towels looked used but refolded. The whole room had a smell which kept me up the whole night. Otherwise it was a great location.

The bed was quite spacious as was the room. The hotel had a very drab feeling to it. The building was old fashioned and I kept getting woken up by neighbors coming into their room. There was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and you could only get coffee from 7AM which isn't great with jetlag. The neighborhood was not great especially early in the morning. All in all the place felt dated and I really wouldn't recommend it.

This hotel tries hard to be a design hotel, but the execution is poor. It is a bit tired and messy. The light in the bedroom is bright white and the least relaxing you can think of. All in all it worked for me, just one night as I was on the road. But if you book this expecting a charming boutique hotel, you probably are going to be disappointed.

This was my second time staying at this hotel and most certainly won’t be my last!! The rooms are spacious, clean, and luxurious. Also the staff here are amazing! I believe Maria/Marie (I don’t remember exactly) made us feel super welcome and taken care of! I even left behind some belongings by accident next door and another staff member Jasmine went above and beyond to find and secure my things which was extremely nice of her and I thank her deeply for that! Definitely my go-to spot when staying in the city!

The hotel it self was in a good location, lots to do. The game room was nice. The daytime staff was absolutely horrible. They did not take any care or compassion with anyone. They put us the in wrong room and refused to do anything about to due to their supervisor being unavailable. They then charged my card 2 different times after the fees had already shown paid through booking.com. I then had to wait over an hour to get my car back from valet, which would be fine if they were busy. I had to call 3 different times and finally go to he parking garage myself where I found the valet too busy on Instagram to even acknowledge my existence, once he finally did he told me he had more important things to do and would not even give me the keys to my own vehicle. The day AFTER checkout my card was charged AGAIN so I called to speak to a supervisor named Benjamin who was unavailable. I was told by the less than pleasant woman at the front desk that ZERO dollars would be returned to my card for their mistake. This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had and would strongly suggest no one stay here. For over $500 for one night I’d rather be at a motel 6.

Very stylish hotel. The inspiration for the hotel is obvious from the look to the motto, Peace Love and Soul. They had a game room space that was really cool, but tucked away, so I don't think many people take advantage of it. The room was a little dated as most SF buildings are.

We were welcomed by the kindest staff member! I can’t remember his name, but he said he was the day operations director. We appreciated the gold member perk of a bottle of wine. The good: the lobby has a great ambiance and style, including fireplace and good coffee. The location is pretty convenient, close to Union Square. The game room could have been fun if it was open. The not-so great: It was hard to arrive - no place to stop the car for drop-off in front, and the front door is locked (for safety). The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and we had to ask for sufficient blankets and pillows (froze on the first night). There is no breakfast but there is a great crepe place a few doors away. Minor point - the bathroom is large but there is no place to put stuff. If you put in some hangers/hooks and/or small tables and a nightlight it would increase the livability of the space.

Loud engine/mechanical noise coming from under the bathroom. This was not a faint noise by any means. My room was not acceptable due to this mechanical noise and the hotel should not be putting guests in the room I was in. A motor or engine of some sort ran periodiocally (every 20-30 minutes) for 10-20 minutes at a time. It was loud and disturbing and made it impossible to sleep in the room. The hotel offered to move me the next day but wondered why they would put a paying guest in the room I was in? Declined the offer and moved to a different hotel that presumably has more respect for its guests.

Not one thing. We paid for a “superior queen” and got a full size bed at best. Staff was not pleasant, room was small and not as advertised, bed small and uncomfortable- felt more like a futon, no nespresso in room as advertised, missing hook in bathroom. This is our third stay at the Zeppelin. It’s always clean, the staff is polite and helpful. The room comfort is pretty good, but sometimes just quirky. Like, this time, our bathroom sometimes vibrated quite a lot bc it seemed to be over the lower floors heating/air duct. Not the worst thing in the world, just a little alarming until you know what’s going on. That would not stop us from staying again. Great location and proximity to everything downtown. Also love the Lost Cat bar on the corner. Solid, reliable stay. We will be back.

I enjoyed the hotel overall but think they should have made the shower smaller to allow more counter space in the bathroom.

The hotel has no hot water one of the days. They were doing very loud road work early in the morning.

My second stay at this hotel. Great location, safe, but not the safest area or the cleanest, but to be honest not many areas of SF are these days. The hotel is very cool, though the staff has always been very cold. I would stay again if they offered repeat costumer discounts.

PLS on Post was the best part by far. If you skip housekeeping you get a 10$ voucher which we used every day. Amazing food and service. Hotel overall was just ok, we would likely stay somewhere else next time

The building is older and the rooms are very small, but clean. However, it was conveniently located by Union Square and the game room downstairs was a plus. Parking was expensive, but that's to expect, I guess, for a hotel downtown.

It was amazing! Definitely a nice room. I will say the walls are very thin, the floors creak a lot, and there were some things that weren’t necessarily super clean but I still enjoyed my stay!

the tenderloin area might seem a bit sketchy. It did not bother ppl but I can see how it might have made some ppl were wary in previous reviews.. I have to give a special mention to Johnny who was on the front desk when I arrived. I had rubbish time getting there... delayed flights, etc and so did not arrive at the hotel until sometime after midnight 6, hours later than intended. Dude, was excellent and super helpful. Answering all my questions and putting up with me when he was probably just looking forward to nice, quiet night on the front desk! He even sorted me out with a different room for the following day when I asked for one with a bathtub! (Its a british thing!)

Area in downtown SF was run down and boarded up with not great choices for food. But it was convenient for cable cars , union square, oracle park etx.

I loved the decor...Zepplin! It was unique and very tasteful. I liked the lobby area for sitting and just relaxing. It would be nice to have the coffee and tea available 24-hours. I ate in the cafe on the premises and the food was good...pricey, but okay. Burgers usually come with fries or some other side, but not here. Thank you for the complimentry water in the room. You need to work on the amenities...charging $35 for items that were NOT explained to you when you checked in. Poor customer serivce. My room was very nice!

Rude staff Charge a resort fee of $35 per day even though they are not a resort ! Would give it one star if I could don’t waste your time on this place you’ll regret it
- 5/5
It was beautiful. There was one person who checked us in and checked us out who was kinda grouchy but everyone else was nice. I requested an extra blanket because my man freezes and they only had extra sheets. The valet is backed up and we had to double park which made us uncomfortable. The room was so cute and cozy. The bed was super comfy. The hall ways were decorated cute. Good location
- 4/5
Hotel lobby was quiet with beautiful design and caring and friendly staff. My room was clean and quiet with a street view. I am very satisfied with my stay.
- 5/5
Definitely will stay here on my next visit to SF
- 4/5
The room itself: not the best bed for comfort, pretty old, definitely needs an upgrade but again, older building. The one thing that absolutely needs to be replaced is that sliding door to the bathroom, it does not close all the way, no privacy whatsoever. Love my partner but come on, would be nice to go to the bathroom in private. We didn’t interact much with the staff but on the few occasions we did nobody seemed to happy or interested in chatting, bit of a cold vibe for being in the service industry, kind of disappointing. Go to the Lost Cat bar next door, they make great old fashioned’s!

I just love this funky uniquely San Francisco hotel! This time I stayed in the fabulous apartment on the top floor with a bonus patio! The service was excellent and I love the gym. All around, really amazing experience!

Room was great, convenient, liked the 60's decor

Musty smell, old property, no microwave. The fridge barely kept food cold. Poor housekeeping services. Poor coffee choices. The only thing I liked about this place is that it’s in a convenient location.

Very stylish, room was clean and bed was very comfortable, staff was friendly. Walkable to union Square and nearby conference center. Option to have room not cleaned and receive $10 voucher for restaurant downstairs was appreciated. Overall a fantastic place to stay in San Francisco and I hope to return

The decor is kind of cool but you get little comfort for the price. No coffee or microwave in the room. Refrigerator was locked, had to request it be opened. No blanket or comforter for the sofa bed in an expensive King Suite.
- 4/5
Good location and very friendly staff. Only thing bad to say is the room smelled musty. But more like it was whoever stayed in there before and it needed to be aired out. I purchased some air freshener and that helped. Made me glad we were only staying one night.

We love this hotel. It is our stay when we go to the city.
- 5/5
Everyone was so nice and quick
- 5/5
Great location for walking around San Francisco. The hotel itself is clean and has amazing common spaces to hang out and play games. Pool table, basketball, etc
- 3/5
All was good minus the surprise $40 “hotel amenities” charge added just for staying the night! It would be VERY nice to hear about the in advance especially when there are no amenities provided by the hotel. Definitely a hidden charge for nothing at all. Guests should all be aware of this addition when booking!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, excellent location!
- 3/5
The hotel and staff are great but there is no privacy due to hanging doors to the bathroom that don’t close well or lock . No room service which I thought was what I was buying as an add- on The decor is great as was the customer service so the experience was mixed for me
- 5/5
Had a family of 5 stay in one of their suites for a few days exploring the city. It was a fantastic location to serve as a jumping off point for restaurants, walking Union Square and Chinatown, or quick rides to lots of other spots. My kids are in middle & elementary school and they loved the game room with pool, air hockey, skee ball, etc. And the front desk support were super helpful with recommendations, tips, and storing luggage when we checked out. Would definitely stay again!
- 3/5
I really liked the hotel and the room was nice, but there was no water available so no where to fill up water bottles. Also the walls were a bit too thin because I could hear other people at night. But super clean and comfty
- 5/5
Cute and trendy. Clean and great location. Staff was amazing
- 5/5
The week before we went i saw a number of reviews complaining about the fees at check in and the state of the property. Yeah, they charge a ~$35 per night amenities fee and $100 per night hold for incidentals - that can add up. But the restaurant on site/next door is very good with friendly staff and a nice bar, we ate and drank there a number of evenings out of exhaustion. Also, yes the property is old, that’s part of its funky appeal. If you want to stay at the Marriot it's literally right there; i liked the character of the old building, it was clean and well maintained. I was disappointed by the lack of coffee machine in the room (an important amenity for me) but called the front desk and they brought one right up! We didnt even hear another guest until the last night we were there.

We stay here every time we visit SF
- 4/5
First and foremost all of the staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly. I tend to gravitate to boutique hotels and this one was one of the better ones I’ve been in. My one critique is with the bathroom barn door. It was a pretty poor design choice in a room with 2 beds to have a bathroom door that doesn’t really close. There is quite a gap. I understand space concerns but there are other solutions.
- 5/5
I liked that they offered bottled water at the desk.
- 3/5
The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. The lounge was no longer open and the games room music was on all night and I could hear it in my room.
- 5/5
Rodoba was the best!! ❤️ You should be proud of such a great asset to your company!

I got the Apartment room which was spacious and met my needs.

my first room had a very bad smell, I changed it but the other room still had that smell to some extend.

Staff good. Bathroom very small. Did not get offered upgrade

Had a good stay at the Zeppelin. All the reviews citing that the area is unsafe were unfounded. There are lots of homeless people in downtown San Francisco but they don’t pose a risk. Like another city in North America that’s priced out people, you just have to be aware of your surroundings as you get up and about.

Great!

We travelled to San Fransisco in late December to visit our daughter for the holidays. Stayed at hotel Zeppelin for 3 nights. I love the character and the amazing decor in the hotel. It was fully decked out for the holidays and looked very festive and cozy at the same time. The staff was very friendly. Our room had a king size bed, desk a couple of chairs, bathroom with a shower (no soaking tub), small closet, big screen TV (regular tv, but you could log into Netflix with your own log in). Downstairs lobby was beautifully decorated and was perfect to hang out with a glass of wine (bring your own, there is no bar on the property). There is a fantastic game room in the basement - not a cheesy arcade, but a bunch of vintage games. Lots of restaurants around, within easy walking distance. I won't look for another hotel on my next visit, this one is perfect.
- 5/5
We had a short, overnight stay. Hotel room was small, but stylish and tidy. Staff was friendly. The burgers at the hotel restaurant are amazing!
- 5/5
Modern hotel with several guest amenities in a great location.
- 4/5
We loved the vibe of the hotel lobby and game room and lounge bar areas. The valet was well worth the money. Up on the sixth floor hotel and hallway and room had an old hotel odor. 2 Queen room was itty bitty. Did not look at all like the photo on the website. Still enjoyed the hotel. Not sure we would stay again.
- 4/5
Cute, clean, comfortable hotel. Great staff, beautiful bathroom, nice large shower. Everything is in working order. Close and convenient to many things.
- 5/5
Good Location. Good condition. Easy to get in/out of. Gym well equipped for a small hotel.
- 4/5
Was a nice stay but was surprised by large additional fees when checking in. They said for amenities!
- 5/5
Very good experience overall! All was good! Thanks
- 2/5
Room itself did not look like the pictures on website… Need to update to show what the room actually looks like. Couch in suit needs to be thrown away!! Paint chips on wall very obvious due to the wall being dark green. Bad smell in room to the point of headache. Beds were uncomfortable/ limited bedding/ pillows were not pillowing. Had to request extra blankets no comforters. For the price I payed, I regret getting a suit as it was not worth the price. Staff was great. Game room awesome. Our double queen suite… Not so great… needs a makeover.
- 5/5
Great place for a good price. Centrally located and I will definitely be staying again. I wish maid service would have stopped by when I was gone the entire day one day, but otherwise everything was very good.

I really liked the theme and decor, but most importantly, it was very clean and safe. Thanks for the restful stay while I was in San Fran for a conference!

I enjoyed my stay for my anniversary/birthday outing! The hotel was very nice, the staff was outstanding, and they took great care of us during our stay. The rooms are nice and clean. You are not that far from good food, drinks, and transportation. I would recommend staying here!

Stylish yet comfortable boutique hotel in the heart of the city with friendly & helpful staff. Absolutely amazing “Smash Burger” at restaurant xoxo
- 3/5
Pros, super convenient location. Cons, there is a 35usd fee PER DAY you have to pay it even if you dont use the inexistent amenities. Fridge doesnt work, no ice machine available, everytime ice is needed you have to call front desk and ask for it. Front desk staff interactions feel kinda rude or in a rush.
- 4/5
Great hotel, good vibe and amenities. The staff was very good. They list a point due to missing coffee makers in the rooms. The hotel advertises espresso makers but had apparently removed them from the rooms a week before without notice to guests or staff. There was no alternative offered other than coffee in the lobby available in the morning. This is not cool when travelling in business as mornings are busy. I would stay at Zeppelin again but only if coffee maker in the room was available.
- 5/5
Great little hotel close to major spots in San Francisco. Rock themed to make you feel special

We stay here quite often when we’re in SF and always enjoy our stays!
